I have received three recall letters form Hyundai VeraCruz regarding an interim recall in January 2021, March 2021 and May 2021. I had the vehicle in for mechanical repairs to the rear brake system in Late February 2021 and was informed there was several leaks noted at the time. Within the next few weeks, I noted that when accelerating onto the highway that the battery light, security light and seatbelt light would flash for about 10 seconds but then go off. . I waited to hear on a repair solution from Hyundai but only received another interim letter in March. In the end of April, I had spoken to the dealership where I purchased the vehicle ,Auto Warehouse of Brighton, and was told Hyundai would have to repair due to the recall. I have contacted three Hyundai service centers and have been told that they are unable to repair under the recall as there has not been a remedy for the recall. On Sunday, May 30, the vehicle was making an odd noise and I asked a mechanic friend to look at it. While inspecting, he stated the bearings in the alternator seized. The vehicle is now not functional, Hyundai Customer Care cannot provide a possible date for the recall to be remedied. This recall has been going on now since November 2020 and is unresolved. I am without a vehicle due to this and have not been provided any possible timeline when the issue may be resolved.

AROUND SEPT. 2017, WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY STREET. VEHICLE'S 2 WARNING LIGHTS TURNED ON, 1ST WAS CHECK ENGINE, THEN NOT LONG AFTER THAT OIL WARNING LIGHTS. LUCKILY I WASN'T TO FAR FROM HOME THAT THE VEHICLE DIDN'T STOP RUNNING AND MADE IT HOME. SO WHEN I GOT HOME I TOLD MY HUSBAND ABOUT IT. BEFORE CHECKING ENGINE COMPARTMENT HE NOTICED OIL DRIPPING AND COOLANT DRIPPING UNDER THE CAR DOWN TO THE GROUND. AND IT WAS A LOT OF SPILLAGE THAT IT EMPTY BOTH OIL AND COOLANT FROM CAR. HE OPENED HOOD ENGINE COMPARTMENT TO CHECK THE LEVEL OF OIL AND FIND'S IT WAS LOW OF OIL. AT THE SAME TIME HE NOTICED OIL LEAKAGE COMING FROM THE VALVE COVER SECTION, LEAKING DOWN TO ALTERNATOR AND COVERED WITH OIL. AFTER THAT HE VISUALLY CHECKED THE RADIATOR AND THERE WAS NO COOLANT, IT WAS EMPTY. SO SINCE THEN I NEVER RAN THE CAR OR WAS OUT OF SERVICE. I WAS TOO BUSY BACK THEN AND NO MONEY TO GET IT FIX. LUCKILY I HAVE ANOTHER CAR TO GET AROUND WITH. SO JUST RECENTLY, A FRIEND MENTIONED TO GO ONLINE AND CHECKED TO SEE IF ANY RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE'S PROBLEM OR MAKE A COMPLAIN. HOPEFULLY IT'S A MANUFACTURE'S PROBLEM AND WILL LIKE A RESPOND, SO I CAN GET THIS CAR ROLLING AGAIN.

PULLED INTO PARKING PLACE AND WENT TO PLACE VERACRUZ FROM DRIVE TO PARK AND IT JUMPED FORWARD A LITTLE AND GEAR SHIFT WAS LOCKED THE ESC LIGHT DID COME ON SHOWING "OFF". I WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO SHIFT INTO PARK AND BRAKE PEDAL WAS LOCKED. I WAS ONLY ABLE TO PUT INTO NEUTRAL AND TURN VERACRUZ OFF AND APPLY EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE. DOORS WILL OPEN BUT WILL NOT TURN ENGINE OVER. LIGHTS FLASH AS IF BUT WILL NOT START. THERE IS NO DASHBOARD LIGHTS TO INDICATE ANYTHING WRONG, THE ESC LIGHT WENT AWAY. I WAS PULLING INTO PARKING SPOT AND NOT DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. MY VIN IS NOT IN RECALL BUT SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO. *TR

DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 1-285 TAKING EXIT 7 TO WALMART WHEN ALL DASH BOARD LIGHTS SUCH AS BATTERY LIGHT, ABS, CRUISE, STARTING FLICKERING AND SUDDENLY CAR JUST SHUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION. WHILE CAR SHUT OFF IT WAS STILL ROLLING AND CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT IN PARK, BRAKES AND STEERING WHEEL LOCKED, AND KEY WOULD NOT RELEASE FROM IGNITION. IF I HADN'T TOLD MY COUSIN TO JUMP OUT, MY FAMILY AND I WOULD HAVE CRASHED IN THE BACK OF A PARKED CAR AT WALMART. THE CONSUMER STATED BOTH BRAKE LIGHTS AS WELL AS THE HEADLIGHTS HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE. UPDATED 12/02/14
