TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 INFINITI EX35. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING WHEEL ELECTRONIC TILT MALFUNCTIONED AND THE DRIVER WAS UNABLE TO PROPERLY RE-POSITION THE STEERING WHEEL. IN ADDITION, WHILE TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL IN EITHER DIRECTION, THE STEERING WHEEL EXHIBITED EXCESSIVE PLAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL TILT MOTOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V054000 (STEERING). THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.

TOOK THE CAR TO DEALER FOR FIXING THE BELOW RECALL NOTICE. MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBERR1501 NHTSA RECALL NUMBER15V-054 HOWEVER, THE DEALERSHIP IS SAYING SOMETHING ELSE IN THE STEERING NEED TO BE FIXED BEFORE APPLYING THE FIX AND REFUSING TO DO THE RECALL. I BELIEVE THE PART WAS DAMAGED, BECAUSE OF THE FAULTY STEERING COLUMN COMPONENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 INFINITI EX35. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RE-ATTACH THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE STEERING COLUMN TEMPORARILY AND DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. NALLEY INFINITI OF MARIETTA, GEORGIA (2020 COBB PARKWAY SE, 30060) STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED DUE TO THE CONTACT'S FAILURE TO RESPOND TO THE NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V054000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED PER THE RECALL AND CONFIRMED THE DEALER'S STATEMENT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
UNDER RECALL NUMBER 15V054000, MY INITIAL STEERING COLUMN RECALL WAS REPAIRED ON 04/06/2015. THE REPAIRED FAILED ON 05/08/2017. I EXPERIENCED EXCESSIVE PLAY IN MY STEERING WHEEL AS A RESULT OF A BROKEN STEERING COLUMN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V054000 (STEERING) HOWEVER THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER REFUSED TO PERFORM THE REPAIR DUE TO NOT BEING COMPENSATED TO PERFORM THE REPAIR. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE NEAREST INFINITI DEALER WAS 118 MILES AWAY AND IT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TOWING SERVICE WOULD BE OUT OF THE CONTACTS EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF ISSUE. 2008 INFINITI EX35. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO STEERING COLUMN RECALL NOTICE. *SMD THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THEY WOULD NOT FIX THE RECALL ISSUE, BECAUSE THE TELESCOPE WAS FROZEN AND TO CORRECT IT, WOULD COST$ 900.00. THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WERE NO ISSUES WITH THE TELESCOPE PRIOR TO ARRIVING AT THE DEALER. *JB
I WAS PULLING INTO MY GARAGE TRAVELING AT LOW SPEEDS WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL PULLED OUT NEARLY SEPARATING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. BALL BEARINGS FELL FROM THE STEERING COLUMN AND THE CLOCK SPRING CABLE UNRAVELED. THIS CAUSED THE STABILITY CONTROL TO KICK ON AND TURN THE CAR VIOLENTLY TOWARDS THE CURB. I WAS ABLE TO PARK THE CAR SAFELY. I CONTACTED THE LOCAL INFINITI DEALER, BUT AS I AM LOCATED OVERSEAS IN KOREA, THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO WORK ON A US SPEC CAR. I CHECKED WITH TWO OTHER NEARBY DEALERSHIPS AND BOTH SAID THEY REFUSED TO WORK ON US SPEC INFINITIS. I WAS FORCED TO ORDER PARTS ONLINE AND TOW THE CAR TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TO HAVE THE REPAIRS COMPLETED.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 INFINITI EX35. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V054000 (STEERING). THE TECHNICIAN MENTIONED THAT THERE WERE DIFFICULTIES PERFORMING THE RECALL REMEDY HOWEVER, IT WAS COMPLETED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THERE WAS A LOUD ABNORMAL NOISE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,400.

AFTER HAVING THE OIL CHANGED, AT THE INFINITI DEALER, ON THE WAY HOME MY SON NOTICED THE STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY LOOSE. AFTER ARRIVING AT HOME THE STEERING WHEEL AND PART OF THE COLUMN ACTUALLY SEPARATED FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. WHEN SEPARATED THERE IS NO WAY TO STEER THE CAR! THIS COULD HAVE HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING BUT LUCKILY DID NOT. THIS SEEMS TO BE A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO. THE DEALER, HARPER INFINITI, SAID THEY DID NOT WORK ON THE STEERING WHILE THE CAR WAS IN FOR SERVICE EARLIER THAT DAY. ..UPDATED 07/01/14 *BF ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE INVOICE, THE STEERING SHAFT WAS NEAR FAILURE. THE STEERING COLUMN AND SHAFT WERE REPLACED. UPDATED 07/24/24

LOST STEERING COMPLETELY. STEERING WHEEL WOULD ROTATE 360 DEGREES FREELY WITHOUT AFFECTING WHEELS. WHILE DRIVING DOWN ROAD AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MILES PER HOUR, BEGAN TO HAVE PLAY IN STEERING WHEEL. SLOWED DOWN WHILE PLAY WORSENED.. LOST STEERING AND STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION. HAD NO STEERING WHATEVER; STEERING WHEEL WOULD FREE SPIN 360 DEGREES. VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. *TR.... UPDATED 08/05/14 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WASN'T ANY PHYSICAL INDICATION OF THE FAILURE BEFORE HAND. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONSUMER NO LONGER OWNS THE VEHICLE. UPDATED 08/18/2014 *JS
