My vin # [XXX] comes up as a 2 door 2011 infiniti g37. Mine is a 4 door. The problem is the air bag light started to blink and the airbag light would show passenger airbag. I've researched enough about the takata air bag recall and the 2011 infiniti g37 is a part of that recall. It's mind boggling just thinking about the dangers of my vehicle that I need to get to and from work daily as well putting anyone on the passenger seat. I don't even feel safe driving the vehicle anymore. What can be done, its obvious it's not working properly. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Airbag warning light came on. Took the car to the dealer and they gave me an estimate of $10,858.62 to repair the airbag! I feel that this is a defect and should be a recall item as I have since read several complaints of the same exact problem! This car has been kept in the garage and only driven when the weather is beautiful! it only has 29,100 miles on it. We bought it from the Infinity dealer in Annapolis, MD in 2012.
I have been having issues with my passenger airbag warning light. The issue is warning light will not go out. I took my vehicle to an Infiniti dealer for a diagnostic. Dealer found code DTC B1018 OCS unit failure. Much to my disbelief and, dealer recommends new passenger side air bag diagnoses module and lower seat frame before further diagnosis. What really angered me was the price to repair a safety issue on this vehicle that wasn't caused by an accident or repair . The quoted module price was $1275.00, price for lower seat frame is $7695.00. Note, this is the price for parts and didn't include labor. At that point, I didn't ask what the labor cost was because I was flabbergasted and taken aback by the the excessively high price for repair. After reading 100's of forums, many are having the same issue with their Infinities and other Nissan Vehicles. Infinity and NHTSA must be aware of this massive problem and Infiniti/Nissan needs to correct this flaw in engineering at the companies expense. We as consumers who pay a lot for these vehicles should be protected. My concern is I have lupus and Arthritis and have chronic pain daily and need my car for numerous doctors visits. Since my health diagnosis I haven't been able to work the past seven years and can't afford to pay over $ 9000.00 to fix a otherwise good running vehicle but also can't afford to get into a car accident because the airbag will not deploy. Since I do have an illness, a car accident without a working airbag system my injuries or worst would be exacerbated by this Infiniti/Nissan flaw in engineering. Please advise as I need assistance with getting my car repaired.
When I start my car the seatbelt lights doesn't go out as it should. I had issue checked and mechanic found front occupant sensor defective and Sensor comes on with seat trac. Mechanic stated issue needs to be fixed because airbag won't deploy in an accident. My car only has 76,618 miles driven and this is a serious safety issue that must be rectified. Please advise.
The occupant sensor in the front passenger seat has failed, rendering the Supplemental Restraint System (airbag) compromised and partially nonfunctional. Upon inspection, dealer states that they cannot ensure that entire SRS will function properly unless repaired. The proposed solution is to replace the Occupant Sensor Unit at a cost of $4,905. The SRS indicator light remains on as I have not agreed with Infiniti Dealer's proposed costly replacement. This puts the driver and any/all occupants at risk. There is a reasonable amount of internet discussion concerning this problem/safety issue with Infiniti.
Passenger occupancy sensor failed while on a road trip. The dealer wanted $5000 to replace the whole seat.
Error code B1018 for occupant sensor unit failed. Infiniti of Sarasota estimate is $11,013 to repair. Cannot justify spending that much but feel unsafe with airbag deployment. Need information on a resolution.
My passenger air bag light started suddenly flashing on the instrument panel while a passenger was in the seat. The air bag light sensor shows the air bag isn’t on, even when a passenger is seated. This causes concern because if an accident occurs, it is likely the air bag will not deploy as it appears to be disabled by the sensor. The has been a widely reported problem and should be recalled due to faulty sensor.
My 2011 Infiniti G37 passenger airbag light comes on and off even if there is no people sitting. And even with passengers the lights come on and off, Im worried that one day something happens and the airbag wont deploy. I have done some research and I found out that there is a lot of people that have the same issues. In case of an accident airbag might not deploy, Infiniti has not issue a safety recall for the airbags, and there are complains from 2011 since it came out and there still no recalls in 2022.
The contact owns a 2011 Infiniti G37. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the air bag sensor warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure; however, provided no additional assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.

Passenger front air bag not activating due to a faulty seat sensor. It puts the passenger at risk of air bags not deploying and potentially causing harm or death. This is a well known problem with this particular vehicle and cost 7000 plus to fix at dealership because the entire seat needs replaced. My airbag light has been blinking and when a passenger sits in the front seat...the airbag still shows as off. 7000 plus is a ridiculous amount when its something i believe should be corrected by a recall. Here is one a few websites that other owners have dealt with the same issue: https://www.carproblemzoo.com/infiniti/g37/air-bag-light-on-problems.php
My passenger seat belt light started blinking and the dealer said I needed a new chip in the seat at a cost of $8,000. I went online to see what other Infiniti car owners were experiencing and it turns out this is happening with all their cars. I can not tell if the airbag is working or will work if I have an accident. This seems like it should be covered by a recall. Please advise.
Airbag sensor bad. Due to poor design of location of sensor, The repair for this sensor involves the complete removal and replacement of the front passenger seat. The cost of the repair for this sensor estimate from dealership is $4200. Neither Infiniti nor Nissan will financially assist with this obscene repair cost due to design and location of sensor. Without this repair, no airbag in the car will work as intended. We were told that should the driver continue to drive the vehicle without the repair, the airbag could spontaneously deploy, potentially causing great bodily harm to driver and the public. The other issue that is likely to occur is that should the vehicle be involved in an accident, none of the airbags will deploy as intended. The car can not be driven at this time. The airbag light flickered and then stayed on beginning June 2022. The Infiniti dealership in Clearwater, Florida inspected the issue and diagnosed with repair estimate. They offer no other remedy nor any further financial assistance to repair this vehicle from regional nor corporate offices of both Infinit and Nissan.
Air bag light is flashing, passenger side air bag not engaged. Available for inspection. This is an inherent safety risk for anyone sitting in passenger side front seat, I have to ask all of my passengers to sit in the back. Problem confirmed by two dealerships, with the second happily quoting over $4K to repair as the entire seat must be replaced. Light has been on for some time, online tips to reset have not worked.
I am writing the complaint to inform you and request an investigation into the Infiniti Advanced Air Bag System (AABS) passenger seat sensor. I recently purchased a 2011 Infiniti G37x sedan with approximately 62,251 miles on June 28th, 2021. This vehicle has had one owner prior to me and has a clean CarFax report with no issued accidents or collisions reported, based on the overall evaluation from an independent repair shop. The main issue experienced with the G37x vehicle and the reason for the manufacturer should create a safety recall was the air bag seat sensor was malfunctioning, as verified by an independent mechanic. I have experienced other vehicle manufacturers issue voluntary recalls and repairs because these passenger occupancy sensors may degrade and fail to detect a passenger in the front seat. This appears to be a very common recall issue. The fault code presented from the ODB-II confirmed to be the air bag seat sensor was malfunctioning and required to be replaced/repaired completely, or all the airbags would not deploy at all to the passenger and both the driver. I am therefore requesting that INFINITI/Nissan North America to investigate and note this experience/issue with the air bag seat sensor and issue a recall for this particular issue to the owners of such affected vehicles. I deem that there is a risk of many vehicles that are having a similar issue with the seat sensor which will cause the air bag system to not function properly in the event of an accident or collision when the air bag would needed to be deployed. THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE VEHICLE SHOULD STILL BE REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL DUE TO THE SAFETY RISK.

My air bag light for my passenger side has been in for at least three years. Then a year ago the driver’s side warning light came on. It is unsafe to drive. I cannot believe there has not been a recall. Took it to a dealership and they stated no recall and is costs 3-4 thousand dollars per sensor to fix. There needs to be an air bag sensor recall for this car.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 INFINITI G37. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NAPLES INFINITI (5880 NAPLES BLVD, NAPLES, FL 34109, (239) 948-7773) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR WAS FAULTY AND THE SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

WHEN DRIVING ON A CITY STREET THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK THE CAR TO SANDY SANSING NISSAN IN FOLEY, AL. WAS TOLD THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR WAS FAULTY. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS IT SEEMS THAT THIS PROBLEM IS COMMON AMONG G CLASS VEHICLES. INFINITY HAD A RECALL ON THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM "OCS" MANUFACTURED BY CONTINENTAL AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS IN WHICH A VARISTOR IN THE OCS CONTROL UNIT MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED OUT OF SPECIFICATIONS. UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, THIS COULD INTERRUPT THE SIGNAL BETWEEN THE OCS AND THE AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT, CAUSING THE PASSENGER AIRBAG TO BE SUPPRESSED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE RECALL BEGAN NOV. 4, 2008. IF THIS RECALL WAS IN 2008 WHY IS INFINITY STILL HAVING THIS PROBLEM IN 2011? WHAT CORRECTIVE ACTION DID INFINITY TAKE TO SOLVE AND KEEP THE PASSENGER SAFE IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT? IF CORRECTIVE ACTION WAS NOT TAKEN THIS COULD RESULT IN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG BEING SUPPRESSED WHICH COULD FAIL TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE PROTECTION IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. I ASK THAT INFINITY TEST THE SIGNAL BETWEEN THE OCS AND ACU USING A SPECIAL TOOL TO CHECK THAT IT IS FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED. IF NECESSARY THE SEAT CUSHION (CONTAINING THE OCS HARDWARE) WILL BE REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE MANUFACTURED TO SPECIFICATIONS. I REFERENCE THIS TO RECALL NUMBER 08V521000 (PASSENGER AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY). I HAVE CONTACTED INFINITY AND HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH INFINITY BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE FOR CORRECTIVE ACTION FROM THEM. THIS IS AN UPDATE TO DOT AUTO SAFETY, REFERENCE # 11383307

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER LAKE NORMAN INFINITI (20435 CHARTWELL CENTER DR, CORNELIUS, NC 28031, (704) 464-4117) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 61,000.

THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASH CAME ON FLASHING ONE DAY, AND HAS NEVER STOPPED. A MECHANIC CLEARED THE LIGHT ONCE WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR SOMETHING ELSE, AND THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON THE NEXT DAY. THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASH SAYS THAT THE AIRBAG IS OFF. FROM MY UNDERSTANDING, THIS MEANS THAT NONE OF THE AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY IF THERE IS AN ACCIDENT. I AM VERY CONCERNED. THIS SEEMS LIKE A COMMON ISSUE FOR THIS CAR AND NISSAN/INFINITI DOESN'T SEEM TO CARE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 INFINITI G37. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SANDY SANSING NISSAN LOCATED AT 3100 S. MCKENZIE ST, FOLEY, AL 36535 WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. AIRBAG SENSOR FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS GONE BAD RESULTING IN THE AIRBAG NOT DEPLOYING IF IN AN ACCIDENT. STATIONARY. REPAIR COST OS OVER $9,000.00. AFTER RESEARCH HAVE FOUND THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A MANUFACTURES DEFECT BUT NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THE YEAR AND MODEL.
Mileage: 49,700
PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT JUST STARTED TO FLASH WITH NO ONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. APPARENTLY IT IS THE SENSOR BUILT INTO THE SEAT.DID SOME RESEARCH AND THIS SEEMS TO BE QUITE COMMON IN THIS PARTICULAR MODEL. COST TO REPAIR OVER $6000.00

THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS BLINKING. ALSO THE CONVERTIBLE HARD TOP DOES NOT OPEN.
Mileage: 77,000
AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED; INFINITI DEALER SAID NEED TO REPLACE BOTH FRONT SEATS AT COST OF $15,000 TO FIX (REPLACE) FAULTY AIRBAG SENSORS. LOW MILEAGE 2011 VEHICLE (62,199); NO ACCIDENTS OR PROBLEMS THAT CAUSED THE AIRBAG LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE. DEALER SAYS AIRBAGS WILL NOT WORK, AND ONLY FIX IS REPLACEMENT OF BOTH FRONT SEATS. ONLINE SEARCH TURNS UP MANY INFINITI OWNERS WITH SAME ISSUE.
Mileage: 62,199
AIR BAG PASSENGER SENSOR DEFECTIVE, VERY COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH NISSAN/INFINITI VEHICLES. SENSOR FAILS RANDOMLY
Mileage: 95,000
THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT IS FLICKERING ON THE DASH. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT INDICATES THAT IS IT OFF WHETHER SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT OR NOT. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INFINITI DEALER WHERE THEY QUOTED ROUGHLY $1500 TO REPLACE AN AIRBAG SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND POSSIBLY THE SEAT BOTTOM. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO A FAULTY COMPONENT. I CALLED INFINITI USA TO INQUIRE ABOUT RECEIVING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE REPAIR. THEIR RESPONSE WAS NO SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. I AM AWARE THAT A SIMILAR RECALL WAS MADE TO THE 2008 G37 MODEL WHICH IS BASICALLY THE SAME CAR. A MALFUNCTIONING AIRBAG IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME, AND I BELIEVE THIS IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MANUFACTURER TO CORRECT. *TR

AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHING WHEN VEHICLE IS TURNED ON AND REMAINS ON THROUGHOUT DRIVING UNTIL VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF. VEHICLE WAS NOT IN AN ACCIDENT OR ANY MODIFICATIONS PERFORMED ON VEHICLE.

AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FLASHING. DEALER EVALUATION SHOWED OCCUPANT SEAT SENSOR UNIT FAILURE. TOLD WHOLE BOTTOM SEAT ASSY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. PART ALONE IS $6500+ I FEEL THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT, COLLISION, TRAUMA, ETC. WARNING LIGHT BEGAN IN AUGUST 2019. EXTENDED WARRANTEE EXPIRED 7/31/19

PASSENGER AIRBAG NOT ACTIVE LIGHT ON DASHBOARD ON ALL THE TIME REGARDLESS IF SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT WITH SEAT BELT LATCHED . I HAVE 25,500 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND I AM CONCERNED THE PASSENGER IS AT RISK IF THE AIRBAG WILL NOT OPERATE IN A CRASH. SEAT SENSOR DEFECTIVE PER ON-LINE FORUMS AND A $6,000.00 FIX TO REPLACE PASSENGER SEAT W SENSOR BUILT IN TO CORRECT IT.
THE AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT AND SENSOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. LOOKING ONLINE THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE AND THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS FOR THE SAME ISSUE ON DIFFERENT MODELS/YEARS. THE PARTS FOR THIS ARE EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE, $6,800 IS THE QUOTE I RECEIVED FROM NISSAN.

THE PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF LIGHT TURNS ON EVEN IF A PASSENGER IS SITTING IN PASSENGER SEAT . I CHECKED WITH INIFITI AND THEY SAY EVERYTHING IS FINE BUT I STILL SEE THE ISSUE. IN WORST CASE IF I MET WITH AN ACCIDENT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG MIGHT NOT OPEN UP. CAN CAUSE FATALITIES . I'M HAVING THIS ISSUE SINCE 2 YEARS

AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WOULD NOT GO OFF. TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM IS "OCCUPANCY SENSOR UNIT FAILURE". NEED TO REPLACE THE OCCUPANCY SENSOR AND CONTROL UNIT, AT A COST OF $6,888. I AM APPALLED THAT INFINITI DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL CONCERNING THIS SAFETY ISSUE!! IF AN ACCIDENT OCCURS, THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY. INFINITI IS SUPPOSED TO BE A HIGH QUALITY CAR. SO DISAPPOINTING!
THE AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT ON THE DASH HAS ILLUMINATED. THIS MEANS THAT THE SWITCH IN THE SEAT DOES NOT DETECT AN OCCUPANT SO THE AIR BAG WILL NO DEPLOY IN A CRASH. INFINIT OF MEMPHIS WANTS TO CHARGE $8000 TO REPLACE THE SEAT! THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE. I SEE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS WEBSITE ABOUT THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. HOW DO WE INITIATE A MANUFACTURER RECALL?
Mileage: 41,000
MY INFINITI HAS 100,000 MILES ON IT. NOTHING AT ALL HAPPENED TO CAUSE MY PROBLEM - NO ACCIDENT, NOTHING SPECIAL. IT JUST SUDDENLY, FOR NO APPARENT REASON, NOW HAS A FLASHING INDICATOR THAT REPRESENTS A PROBLEM WITH THE PASSENGER AIR BAG THAT WILL CAUSE IT TO FAIL MASSACHUSETTS STATE INSPECTION. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IN INFINITI OF NASHUA IN NH. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A SENSOR PROBLEM, NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAGS THEMSELVES. ALAS, THE SENSOR CAN ONLY BE FIXED MY REPLACING THE ENTIRE SEAT ASSEMBLY. I WAS ASSURED THAT THIS WAS VERY MINOR IN TERMS OF LABOR (MAYBE A COUPLE OF HOURS), BUT THAT IT WOULD REQUIRE ME TO PURCHASE AN EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE PART. THE DEALERSHIP QUOTED ME $10,000 FOR A CAR THAT IS NOW WORTH ABOUT $12,000. WHEN I DID NOT JUMP AT THIS OFFER, THEY CONTACTED ME THREE DAYS LATER TO SAY THAT INFINITI USA WAS OFFERING ME A DISCOUNT AND THEY WOULD REPLACE THE SENSOR (VIA THE WHOLE SEAT ASSEMBLY) FOR $7000. I HAVE SINCE GONE TO A REPUTABLE MECHANIC WHO SAID THAT THE PART COSTS ABOUT $6500. SO NOT ONLY WAS INFINITI OF NASHUA TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ME (PERHAPS BECAUSE I AM A WOMAN), INFINITI USA IS TRYING TO GET ME TO PAY $6500 FOR A FREAKING SENSOR. MY CAR IS GOING TO HAVE TO GO INTO THE TRASH HEAP. I SEE MANY OTHER PEOPLE DISCUSSING SIMILAR PROBLEMS. INFINITI SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR EITHER FIXING THE PROBLEM - IT IS A MASSIVE DESIGN FLAW THAT PUTS PASSENGER AT RISK AND MAKES THEIR VEHICLES WORTHLESS FAR BEFORE THEIR TIME. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER INFINITI AGAIN AND WILL BADMOUTH THEM AT ANY OPPORTUNITY.
TAKATA RECALL: INFINITI RECALLED AN ENTIRE LINE OF CARS WITH FAULTY AIR BAGS/SEAT SENSORS, BUT DID NOT COVER ALL CARS. I HAVE A 2011 INFINITI G37X WITH ONLY 50K MILES THAT I AM BEING CHARGED 7K TO REPLACE A SEAT CUSHION THAT HAS A FAILED SENSOR. THIS PROBLEM IS WIDELY KNOWN IN A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF INFINITIS, YET THE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT REPAIR OBVIOULY FAULTY PARTS THAT WERE INSTALLED. THIS PRESENTS A MASSIVE SAFTEY ISSUE IF I CANNOT AFFORD A REPAIR THAT I SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO MAKE. NAME ANOTHER CAR OF ANY MAKE/MODEL THAT HAS SEAT CUSIONS FAIL. IT IS DISGUSTING THAT INFINITI WILL NOT CORRECT THEIR ERROR, AND WORSE THAT A GOVERNMENT AGENCY THAT IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM DOESNT SUPPORT BUYERS WHO ARE OBVIOUSLY BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF.
Mileage: 50,000
THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS BLINKING IN THE DASHBOARD AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS REGISTERING AS OFF EVEN WHEN AN ADULT IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. INFINITI IDENTIFIED THE ISSUES AS A FAULTY SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND IS CHARGING UPWARDS OF $7,000 FOR A REPAIR FOR SOMETHING THAT IS A PURE SAFETY ISSUE.
NISSAN/INFINITI SAFETY ISSUE THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS BLINKING - SEWELL INFINITI MENTIONED THAT IT WAS THE OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR AND IT WOULD BE ROUGHLY 6000 TO FIX. THIS IS AN INSANE AMOUNT FOR A DEADLY ISSUE AS MY AIRBAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY IF I AM IN AN ACCIDENT. A GOOGLE SEARCH SHOWS A TREND OF THIS PROBLEM OCCURRING WITH THE G37, AND IT NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. NISSAN/INFINITI HAVE SEVERAL OTHER MODELS THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM - THIS IS A DEFECT FROM THE MANUFACTURER THEY ARE TRYING TO SWEEP UNDER THE RUG ON A CAR WITH UNDER 60,000 MILES. I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH 36,000 MILES AND HAVE NOT HAD A SINGLE ISSUE UP UNTIL NOW.
Mileage: 59,000
PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF WARNING CAME UP, FLASHING IN RED, WHICH MEANS THE AIR BAG WOULD NOT TRIGGER, RESULT IN LIFE THREATENING AND MAY CAUSE THE DEATH FOR A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN A GARAGE, NOTICED IT IN THE MORNING.
Mileage: 63,700
A LIGHT CAME ON SAYING THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG WAS NOT WORKING. THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING STILL AND THE LIGHT CONTINUED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. I TOOK THE CAR TO AN INFINITI DEALER AND HE SAID THE ENTIRE SEAT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED TO FIX THE SENSOR FOR AN EXCESSIVE COST OF OF $6,711.08. THIS HAS BEEN FIXED ON 2012 AND LATER MODELS, BUT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF 2008 - 2011 MODELS OUT THERE THAT CAN INCUR THIS RIDICULOUS HIGH COST AND OWNERS HAVE NO IDEA OF WHAT IT MAY COST TOMORROW.

PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR AND SIDE AIRBAG PROBLEM.
Mileage: 63,000
THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD HAS BEEN BLINKING. I TOOK IT TO GET REPAIRED AND THE DEALER TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE COST IS $7,000. I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING TO THE SEAT. SO, NO AIRBAG WILL BE DEPLOYED IF I AM IN AN ACCIDENT. WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN RECALLED? THIS SHOULD BE ON THE MAKER OF THE VEHICLE AND NOT THE CONSUMER.
INFINITI SHOULD RECALL ALL AFFECTED G37 PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSORS. MY INFINITI G37 JOURNEY SEDAN HAS AN ISSUE OF "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF LIGHT" TURNING ON WHEN EVEN AN ADULT SITS ON THE PASSENGER SEAT WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. IT SEEMS LIKE THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE DOES NOT CHANGE THE RESULT. THE LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON ALL THE TIME BUT IT DOES COME ON OFTEN ENOUGH TO CONCERN ME. MY WIFE IS ABOUT 110 POUNDS AND THE AIRBAG SENSOR SHOULD DETECT HER AS AN ADULT AND IT SHOULD ACTIVATE IN CASE OF A COLLISION. HOWEVER, WHEN THE "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" LIGHT IS ON WHEN AN ADULT SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND INFINITI SHOULD ADDRESS IT TO INSURE BASIC SAFETY OF ITS OCCUPANTS. ACCORDING TO THE WWW.MYG37.COM FORUM THERE ARE MANY G37 OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. YET THERE IS NO WARRANTY OR RECALL ISSUED YET. INFINIT DEALERS SAY THE PROBLEM IS THE SENSOR AND THE WHOLE SEAT MUST BE REPLACED AND ITS COST IS ABOUT $8,000 AND THE OWNER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FULL PRICE.

TAKATA RECALL, MY CAR HAS EXPERIENCED TOTAL SHUT DOWN OF AIRBAGS DUE TO A FAULTY SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. AFTER ONLINE RESEARCH I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A QUITE COMMON OCCURENCE AND CREATES A PUBLIC SAFETY HAZARD. DUE TO THE HIGH COST OF REPAIR, $5000+, MANY CITIZENS DO NOT HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED, THUS DRIVING WITHOUT ANY AIRBAG PROTECTION. ALSO MANY PEOPLE ARE REPORTING THAT SOON AFTER BUYING A USED NISSAN PRODUCT THAT THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURS. I THINK THIS COULD LEAD ONE TO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A QUITE COMMON PROBLEM UNDERREPORTED BY THE PRIMARY PARTIES. THIS ALONG WITH THE FACT OF EXCESSIVE REPAIR COST IS , IN MY OPINION, IS CREATING AN UNNECESSARY PUBLIC SAFETY HAZARD WHICH WARRANTS FURTHER INVESTIGATION. I THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO ALLOW YOU TO RECEIVE MY CONCERNS.

THE AIRBAG LIGHT FLASHES RED ON THE DASH PANEL INDICATING THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS NOT ON. IT ALSO SHOWS ON THE PANEL UNDER THE AIR CONDITIONER CONTROLS THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS OFF. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND IT IS DUE TO A FAULTY SAFETY RESTRAINT SYSTEM SENSOR THE IN THE PASSENGER BOTTOM SEAT. INFINITI HAS HAD RECALLS AND ISSUES WITH THIS SRS SYSTEM IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WHILE THEY DID NOT RECALL THE 2011 INFINITI G37. MY G37 HAS APPROXIMATELY 23,500 MILES AND THEY WANT OVER $5,000.00 TO REPLACE THE WHOLE SEAT BOTTOM. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AND SOMEONE NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. TO TOP THINGS OFF, MY DASH IS MELTING AND I KNOW THEY HAD A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN FLORIDA WITH NISSAN MELTING DASHBOARDS IN 2008. I GUESS THIS COULD ALSO BE A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE THE DASH IS STICKY AND HOT AND IF A CHILD WERE TO TOUCH IT THEY COULD POSSIBLY GET BURNED NOT TO MENTION THE MESS. INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS SAID THEY WOULD NOT REMEDY EITHER ISSUE. WHAT A QUALITY PRODUCT......I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN/INFINITI VEHICLE AND HAVE OWNED 5.

PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON (APRIL 5, 2017)WHILE ON HIGHWAY. HAD DEALER DIAGNOSE AND THE RESULTS CAME OUT AS THE SENSOR HAS FAILED.THE WHOLE SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. COSTING OVER 6K USD, SENSOR CANT BE REPLACED BY ITSELF IS ABSURD. EXTENDED WARRANTY DID NOT COVER IT EITHER EVEN WITH PREMIER CARE FROM ALL STATE.I TRIED GETTING IT TAKEN CARE OF BECAUSE LIVES ARE AT STAKE BUT WHAT CAN YOU DO IF YOU CANT AFFORD TO FIX IT. IT COSTS A SEAT OR A DOWN PAYMENT TOWARDS A NEW CAR. THEY SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS. IVE SEEN ONLINE THAT IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHOSE HAVING THIS ISSUE ESPECIALLY FROM NISSAN/INFINITI

MY WIFE WAS PULLING INTO HER PARKING SPOT AT WORK WITH HER FOOT ON THE BRAKE WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD. SHE CLEARLY REMEMBERS BRAKING AS NORMAL WHEN PARKING AND HAD WITNESSES STANDING WITHIN 15 FEET THAT NOTICED THE SOUND OF THE BRAKES AND THE BRAKE LIGHTS LIT. MY WIFE'S HEAD HIT AND CRACKED THE WINDSHIELD. IN ADDITION TO HEAD INJURIES, SHE HAS WHIPLASH AND OTHER INJURIES. THE FRONT BUMPER WAS BADLY DAMAGED ALONG WITH FLUIDS LEAKING FROM THE ENGINE. THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. *TR
