If you search the internet, you'll see that there's a large problem with the sunroof drainage in this car dumping water into the cabin, into the glove box and down the right kick panel, which is where the bcm unit sits, and then dumps down the rocker panel where all the electrical wiring runs.
I just purchased a 2012 Infiniti G37 and love the car. Once I drove off the car lot I noticed the dashboard was extremely sticky and shiny and appears to be melting. Every time the dash gets in the sun and heat it gets worse. It causes a glare on the windshield that is blinding. I'm afraid the blind spots are going to cause me to hit a person or another car. I contacted Infiniti and they said there is nothing they can do since the car is out of warranty. What can Infiniti do to resolve this dangerous situation?
This car odometer is rolled back about 100,000 miles and I hope I am reporting this at the right place. I went to purchase this vehicle and seller paperwork doesn’t match up with vehicle.
Sunroof drains get clogged and have to repeatedly cleaned out by dealer causing a LOT of water damage and possibly damage to the body control module
Sun roof drains are defective and are leaking puddles of water inside passenger & driver side of vehicle .
There is a leak on the driver side down the front A-pillar. Water runs over the electrical components, fuse box, BCM. I’ve researched on the internet and this is an extremely common problem. If this component gets wet, the car could shut off while driving. Maybe there is a danger with being electrocuted as well. This is a design flaw and potential safety issue in the 2012 Infiniti G37, and it’s happening fairly often as seen with similar issues from other owners. Do I have to worry about this with my two kids in the car? Why hasn’t this been addressed by the manufacturer with the commonality of the problem? I had a similar issue on the passenger side. However, I was not worried about safety as the electrical components are not on that side. There is not the same risk for electrocution or car stoppage while driving. Nonetheless, it is still an extremely common problem and failure of engineering on the manufacturers part. Now I am dealing with the same issue on the drivers side where the electrical components come into play.
On June 4 I pulled into a drive to turn the car around and park. I stopped the car, put it into reverse, and pressed the gas pedal;. The car stalled and I pressed the gas pedal again with the regular force. Suddenly the car accelerated and I felt a jerk and heard a bang as it hit a car that was just backing out of the driveway cross from min. My car was going so quickly that the other driver commented on the speed it was going. My car incurred considerable damage, the rebar was damaged, and I took the car int "collision" for repair. At Collision, I was told by 2 people that Mini had a problem with acceleration. Priori to the accident, my car occasionally stalled when I was backing it out of the garage. I have since been told that this "stalling" or "stumbling" was a signal that there was a defect that could have been fixed.
