MY 2008 INFINITI M35X WHILE I AM DRIVING ON HIGH WAY WILL UNEXPECTEDLY WONDER LEFT OR RIGHT ESPECIALLY IF I AM CHANGING LINES WHEEL I HAVE TO HOLD STEERING WHEEL VERY TIGHT TO BE ABLE TO CONTROL CAR OTHERWISE I COULD CAUSE ACCIDENT . IF I AM DRIVING IN CITY, SOMETIMES IT GOES STRAIGHT THEN SUDDENLY IT WILL VEER RIGHT OR LEFT . THIS IS HAPPENING SINCE I GOT CAR. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE MECHANIC AND VERIFIED THE ALIGNMENT WAS CORRECT. I TRY NEW TIRES, MECHANIC REPLACED INNER AND OUTER TIE ROD NOTHING CORRECTS THE ISSUE. I HAVE FOUND MANY MANY DISCUSSIONS ON THIS ISSUE AND IT APPEARS A FAULTY RACK AND PINION BUT THE COMPANY WILL NOT REPLACE IT UNLESS YOU STILL HAVE WARRANTY LEFT. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND ALMOST RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT MANY TIMES.

MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THE STEERING RACK IS LEAKING. THE CAR HAS 88K AND HAS BEEN MAINTAINED BY THE DEALER. THERE IS NO REASON THIS SHOULD FAIL THIS EARLY.

MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED A 2008 INFINITI M35X WHICH IS STILL UNDER A WARRANTY FROM INFINITI AND WAS INSPECTED PRIOR TO US TAKING OWNERSHIP. I DROVE THE CAR AND AFTER TWO DAYS I NOTICED THE CAR PULLING HARD WHEN CHANGING LANES ON THE HIGHWAY. IT DID IT MULTIPLE TIMES DURING A 30 MINUTE TRIP. I AGAIN DROVE THE CAR TODAY AND NOTICED THE ISSUE AGAIN. I HAVE OWNED OVER TEN CARS IN MY LIFE AND NONE HAVE HAD THIS STEERING / LANE SHIFTING ISSUE LIKE THIS. I HAVE ALSO HAD CARS WITH TIRES WITH EXTREME WEAR AND CARS IN DESPERATE NEED OF AN ALIGNMENT AND STILL I NEVER EXPERIENCES PULLING IN THE STEERING WHEEL LIKE THIS. MY WIFE ALSO HAD A PASSENGER DROVE THE VEHICLE AND BOTH NOTICED IT ON A SEPARATE OCCASION. I HAVE TWO CHILDREN AND AM NOW CONCERNED FOR THEIR SAFETY. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER ALONG WITH ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ASSOCIATED WITH STEERING ISSUES WITH INFINITI MODEL M35, M35X, M45 AND M45X FROM 2006 TO 2010. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT MANY COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED WITH LITTLE TO NO EFFORT TO INFORMED CONCERNED DRIVERS/OWNERS OF ANY PROGRESS OR LACK THERE OF FOR POSSIBLE RECALL FOR OR AROUND THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS STEERING ISSUE. *TR

THIS CAR TENDS TO DRIFT/TRAVEL/TRAMMEL WITH ROAD GROOVES/RUTS/DIPS ALL THE TIME. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL. I'VE CHANGED THE TIRES A FEW TIMES TO TRY AND RESOLVE THIS ISSUE AND THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENS WITH ALL TIRE BRANDS I'VE TRIED. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM AS PREVALENT WITH ANY OTHER VEHICLE I'VE DRIVEN. I'VE TAKEN IT TO TWO DEALERS AND THEY BOTH SAY IT IS COMMON TO THIS CAR. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. *TR

I BOUGHT MY 2008 INFINITI M35X NEW IN SEPTEMBER OF 2008. FROM THE DAY I DROVE IT AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP I NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WAS PULLING ERRATICALLY SOMETIMES TO THE LEFT AND SOMETIMES TO THE RIGHT. THE ANGLE OF THE ROAD AND ROUGH ROAD SURFACES MADE IT WORSE. UPON TAKING THIS TO THE DEALER, THEY AGREED TO CHANGE THE TIRES (FROM GOODYEAR TO MICHELIN) THAT MADE IT SOMEWHAT BETTER BUT HAS NOT ELIMINATED IT. I HAVE DRIVEN THIS CAR FOR 5 YEARS LIKE THIS, BUT NOW BELIEVE BASED ON MANY BLOGS ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS IS A MECHANICAL DEFECT AND INFINITI SHOULD BE FIXING THIS. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 INFINITI M35. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD ABNORMALLY PULL TO THE LEFT OR THE RIGHT, DEPENDING ON THE LEVELING OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND A FRONT END ALIGNMENT WAS PERFORMED HOWEVER, DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THEY DID NOT LOCATE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE OR THE STEERING COLUMN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,600 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 76,400.

THE VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY PULL, OR TURN, TO THE RIGHT OR THE LEFT EVEN ON LEVEL STRAIGHT ROADS. IT HAS ALMOST PULLED THE WHEEL OUT OF MY HANDS COMPLETELY, BECAUSE OF THE FORCE IN WHICH IT TURNS. I CONTACTED THE DEALER, AND WAS INFORMED THAT IT IS A PERFORMANCE VEHICLE AND THIS IS HOW THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO HANDLE. AFTER OWNING A 1998 BMW M3 AND A 2010 NISSAN MAXIMA SV WITH SPORT PACKAGE, I CAN SAY THIS IS THE ONLY CAR THAT HAS HANDLED LIKE THIS. THESE ARE THE SAME ROADS THAT I DROVE WITH BOTH THOSE PREVIOUS VEHICLES SO I CAN CONFIDENTLY SAY THAT THIS IS NOT HOW A PERFORMANCE VEHICLE IS SUPPOSED TO HANDLE. I JUST BOUGHT A USED M35 INFINITI 2008 AND NOTICED AFTER PURCHASING IT THAT THE STEERING WHEEL MOVES BY ITSELF USUALLY 30 DEGREES OR MORE EITHER TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT. I BROUGHT IT IN AND HAD THEM DO AN ALIGNMENT ON IT AND THAT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN READING ONLINE OF OTHER M35 USERS AND THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AS I DO. THEY SAID IT IS A DEFECTIVE PART WHICH CAUSES TRAMLINING? REGARDLESS OR NOT MY DEALERSHIP HAS TOLD ME THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT THE ISSUE. MY 2008 INFINITI M35X CAR VIOLENTLY JERKS IN AND OUT OF THE LANE FROM MY LEFT SIDE AND THEN MY RIGHT SIDE. THE SPEED LIMIT IS 60-65 MPH ON THE BELTWAY, AND FOR A CAR TO BE SUDDENLY JERK OUT OF THE LANE IS A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD. I GLANCED IN MY REARVIEW AND SIDE MIRRORS, AS MY CAR WAS WILDLY DRIFTING IN AND OUT OF THE LANE TO SEE IF I WAS ABOUT TO CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT WITH THE CARS AND TRACTOR TRAILERS THAT WERE CLOSE BY. IN MY REVIEW MIRRORS I SAW CARS, AND TRUCKS BRAKING, BECAUSE I WAS SWERVING IN AND OUT OF THE LANE ERRATICALLY, SIMILAR CHARACTERISTICS OF A DRUNK DRIVER. I HAVE NEVER SEEN OR EXPERIENCED ANYTHING OF THE SORT WITH A CAR IN MY LIFE. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF IMMEDIATELY, VERY DANGEROUS AND VERY FRIGHTENING WHILE DRIVING. *TR

I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN OCTOBER 2009 CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED FROM INFINITI SOUTHWEST IN HOUSTON, TX WITH 13K ON IT ALREADY. THIS PAST YEAR I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE. THE PROBLEM IS GETTING WORSE AND WORSE SINCE THE VERY BEGINNING WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. ANY GROOVE ON THE ROAD OR MINOR INDENTATION CAUSES MY STEERING WHEEL TO LOSE CONTROL. EVEN WHEN I SWITCH LANES, JUST DRIVING OVER THE LITTLE BUMP REFLECTOR CAUSE ME TRAMLING. IT LITERALLY LOOKS LIKE THERE IS A DRUNK DRIVER ON THE ROAD WHEN PEOPLE SEE ME DRIVING. IT OCCURS ANY TIME I DRIVE IT. I'VE GOTTEN NEW TIRES (WHICH THEY ALWAYS TRY TO BLAME FIRST), ALMOST 3 ALIGNMENTS, AND WARRANTY CHECKS AND THEY SAY THEY CANT FIND THE PROBLEM AND BLAME IT ON THE ROAD. WHY ARE THERE PEOPLE ON EVERY ONLINE INFINITI M FORUM COMPLAINING TO EACH OTHER ABOUT THEIR VEHICLE AND THIS PROBLEM. 2008 INFINITI M35X HAS A DEFECTIVE STEERING MECHANISM. *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HAS A DEFECTIVE STEERING MECHANISM, WHICH CAUSED THE STEERING WHEEL TO ACT IN AN UNCONTROLLABLE MANNER. THE STEERING WHEEL TURNED UP TO 130 DEGREES WITHOUT DRIVER INPUT AS THE CAR SLOWED DOWN BEFORE IT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE BEHAVIOR OCCURRED ON A DAILY BASIS. DURING THE FIRST FOUR TIMES, THE DEALER DENIED THE EXISTENCE OF ANY PROBLEM. THE FIFTH TIME, THE DEALER ACKNOWLEDGED A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING MECHANISM AND ATTEMPTED TO FIX IT. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM REMAINED UNSOLVED. *JB

AFTER FIVE ATTEMPTS OF TRYING TO CONVINCE THE DEALER THERE WAS A PROBLEM, THEY FINALLY ACKNOWLEDGED A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING MECHANISM AND ATTEMPTED TO FIX IT. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM REMAINED UNSOLVED AND THE HANDLING OF THE VEHICLE POSED A SERIOUS PROBLEM. *JB

THE CAR LIKES TO SWERVE LEFT AND RIGHT AND RARELY WANTS TO TRAVEL IN A STRAIGHT LINE. SOMETIMES THE CAR ACTUALLY GOES INTO THE OTHER LANE. MY CAR, A 2008 INFINITI M35X, EXHIBITED EXTREME TRAMLINING (POOR ROAD TRACKING) ON INITIAL DRIVE. THE CAR WOULD WANDER ALL OVER A LANE WHEN RIDING ON A RESURFACED TAR LINE OR SIMILAR. IT WAS MORE SEVERE AT HIGHER SPEEDS. COMPLAINT TO THE DEALER RESULTED IN AN IMMEDIATE TIRE REPLACEMENT, FROM GOODYEAR EAGLE RS-A TO MICHELIN PRIMACY MXV4 WHICH RESULTED IN SOMEWHAT BETTER ROAD RESPONSE, BUT STILL QUITE SEVERE AND NOTICEABLE EVEN AT LOW SPEEDS. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE PERFORMANCE FROM ANY CAR, LET ALONE ONE THAT COSTS MORE THAN $50,000. CHECKING VARIOUS FORUMS, I SEE THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS VERY PROBLEM. MANY CLAIM THAT CHANGING OUT THE STEERING RACK SOLVES THE PROBLEM. IT'S CLEARLY DANGEROUS AS IT STANDS AND NISSAN/INFINITI SHOULD ISSUE A RECALL TO CORRECT IT. *TR
