This Problem Across All Years
There was previous recall on this vehicle, 10V-074 (Infiniti #R1011) for a fuel sender problem, causing the fuel gauge to be inaccurate. Infiniti says it was fixed in 2010. Unfortunately, I am having the exact same problem now, and have run out of gas twice because of it. Infiniti said they can't help because it was already fixed. Safety issue because running out of fuel while driving is dangerous. Both times has been on an interstate. It was a previously reported recall and "fixed" but has failed again. Infiniti says they won't fix it again.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 INFINITI QX56. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS INOPERABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE REFLECTED AN INCORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE SHOWED ADEQUATE FUEL IN THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND RAN OUT OF FUEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A COMMON FAILURE IN SIMILAR VEHICLES. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.

THIS TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OR AT ANY TIME HAD ITS AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. ALL SERVICE TO TRUCK HAS BEEN WITH INFINITI DEALERSHIPS. SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE SAID ELECTRONIC ISSUE AND NOT OWNER ERROR. THIS COULD HAPPEN AT ANY TIME WITH THIS TRUCK. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY SAID PROBLEM IS COVERED IF TRUCK LESS THAN 4 YEARS OLD OR 60,000 MILES.
