Catalytic Converter, A/F Sensor failed on the interstate when I was driving with kids in the car. Took vehicle to the nearest dealer only to be told that this is a known problem with these vehicles and it was going to cost me $3,100 to repair.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2011INFINITI QX56 TO WORK, THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE START LOSING POWER AND SHAKING.AFTER CHECKING IT I HAD CODESPOO21,POO87 AND POO90. THE CODES ARE RELATED TO VVT SOLENOID AND HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP.

ON JUNE 1ST 2020 I TOOK MY 2011 INFINITI QX56 TO THE SHOP FOR HAVING THE CODE P0087. THE SHOP TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE PROBLEMS THE VEHICLE IS HAVING ARE RECALLED UNDER VOLUNTARY SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN. WHEN I CALLED MY LOCAL INFINITI DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME MY VIN # DOESN'T DOESN'T SHOW AS RECALLED. THEY DEALERSHIP PROVIDED ME WITH THE PHONE NUMBER OF INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS. I CALLED INFINITI AFFAIRS AND TOLD THEM ABOUT MY VEHICLE THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE SORRY BUT MY VIN DOESN'T SHOW UP ON THEIR SYSTEM. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT EVERY SINGLE THING THAT I RESEARCHED AND FIND THE WRONG OF THE VEHICLE COMES BACK WITH A VOLUNTARY RECALL. LIKE THE FUEL SYSTEM, TIMING CHAIN, VVT SOLENOIDS, HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. I USE VEHICLE IN THE CITY AND HIGHWAY.

WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND FIRST NOTICED A DROP IN FUEL ECONOMY. LATER IT WAS LOSING POWER AND STALLING. GAVE ME P0090 AND P0087 CODES. HAPPENED IN BOTH DRIVING AND STATIONARY POSITIONS. TURNS OUT MY HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP IS BAD.

ON A FULL TANK OF GAS I AM ONLY ABLE TO GET ABOUT 200 MILES BEFORE EMPTY. I RECENTLY FILLED UP THE GAS TANK AND DROVE 25 MILES AND I HAVE 3/4 OF A TANK OF FUEL LEFT. I MAINLY DRIVE IN THE CITY, BUT THE RECENT 25 MILE EXAMPLE WAS HIGHWAY DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON.

THIS COMPLAINT IS THE BEGINNING OF MY GOAL OF GETTING ASSURANT OR INFINITI TO OWN THIS PROBLEM SINCE THE COMBINED CA AND FED CAT WARRANTY IS 150K MILES. MY WARRANTY SHOULD COVER.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. CATALYTIC CONVERTER ISSUES CAUSING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON
I HAVE A FAILED FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR WHICH IS PART OF A VOLUNTARY SAFETY RECALL THAT WAS DONE IN 2012. I CALLED THE MANUFACTURER TO INFORM THEM ABOUT MY FUEL SENSOR THEY TOLD ME THAT MY CAR ISN'T PART OF THE RECALL BECAUSE THEIR ENGINEERS DETERMINED THAT IT WASN'T PART OF THE RECALL! I'M NOT SURE HOW THEY DETERMINED THAT OUT OF ALL CARS PRODUCED THAT YEAR. NOW I'M STUCK WITH A CAR I CAN'T DRIVE UNLESS I TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND SPEND MONEY TO GET IT FIXED. MY ONLY HOPE NOW IS THAT SOMEONE FROM NHTSA CAN HELP ME OUT AND GET THEM TO FIX THEIR DEFECTIVE PART! THANKS
INFINITI/NISSAN ISSUED A RECALL BACK IN 2010 (RECALL ID#10V074000) FOR FUEL GAUGE/SENSOR SENDING UNIT PROBLEM. THE SAME ISSUE IS HAPPENING ON LATER YEAR VEHICLES, BUT NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. THERE ARE ENDLESS REPORTS ON THE WEB ACROSS MANY FORUMS WHERE PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM FOR SOMETHING THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED BEFORE. SEE NOTES FROM PAST RECALL. RECALL ID # 10V074000 - FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:STORAGE:FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM RECALL DATE: MAR 03, 2010 SUMMARY: NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2005-2009 TITAN, ARMADA, AND INFINITI QX56 VEHICLES. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FUEL GAUGE MAY INACCURATELY DISPLAY THAT THE VEHICLE STILL HAS SOME FUEL, TYPICALLY ABOUT ONE QUARTER TANK, WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS EMPTY. CONSEQUENCE: THIS COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO RUN OUT OF GAS AND STALL ON THE HIGHWAY, WHICH COULD CAUSE A CRASH. IS THIS NO LONGER A SAFETY CONCERN? SAME ISSUE, JUST LATER MODELS... MINE SPECIFICALLY IS A 2011 AND I NEVER KNOW HOW MUCH GAS IS IN IT. IT FLUCTUATES AND SHOWS EMPTY WHEN IT'S NOT AND SHOWS FULL WHEN IT'S NOT. PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND ADVISE THE MANY OWNERS THAT ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM.

FUEL LEVELING SENSOR IS FAULTY IN A LARGE VARIETY OF INFINITI CARS, BUT THERE IS NOT RECALL FOR MY VIN. THE CAR'S FUEL GAUGE GOES UP AND DOWN ALL THE TIME AND TELLS ME I'M ON EMPTY WHEN I'M NOT AND NEVER REGISTERS FULL EVEN WHEN IT WAS JUST FILLED UP. IT CAN JUMP FROM READING 330 MILES LEFT TO EMPTY DOWN TO 299 AND BACK UP TO 330 IN JUST A FEW SECONDS. THE DIAGNOSTIC CONFIRMED A PROBLEM, BUT THEY WANT OVER $1,000 TO FIX A KNOWN PROBLEM IN MANY OF THEIR MAKES AND MODELS. THIS DOESN'T EVEN TOUCH ON THE TIMING CHAIN ISSUE THAT IS FAULTY AS WELL. LUCKILY, THERE IS A RECALL FOR THAT ONE. HOW IS THE CONSUMER PROTECTED AGAINST THIS TYPE OF FAULTY PARTS? IS THERE ANYTHING WE CAN DO? WE HAVE BEEN TOLD WE NEED TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP.

WHILE BRING MY KIDS TO SCHOOL THIS MORNING, I NOTICED A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE, SO I CHECKED UNDERNEATH AND SAW GAS STEADILY STREAMING FROM THE CAR AND FORMING A PUDDLES,I AM HAVING THE CAR TOWED TO DEALER'S GARAGE FOR REPAIR LATER THIS WEEK.
