Since 4/4/2025 unresolved CVT transmission repair 4 replacement CVT transmission have failed, each time order for the repair they have failed with the same problem or different problems with the CVT transmission, •Despite assurances that the repairs were properly completed, I have experienced the ongoing issues – e.g., The gears jumped •The car wouldn’t accelerate past 20 mph •When placed in park, the transmission felt unstable •A check engine light/code appeared •4 Transmission order and all have failed to fix the problem As of 6/27/2025 the reorder of replacements CVT transmission have failed. This an infiniti problem
The CVT unit is causing hard acceleration and jerking randomly. The CVT unit has a notification a few years ago on this model up to a certain mileage which I believe was 99,000 miles. My vechile just reached 113,000 miles and I am having this problem. It is safety and dangerous issue for me because I have been in traffic making turns when the acceleration seems to not go to gear and I almost caused an accident.
The car is not engaging when going from 1st to all gears, the car feels very shaky and unstable
Vehicle has a CVT transmission and it failed around 87,000 miles. Both catalytic converters had to be replaced at this same time. When using assisted cruise control, the vehicle slams on the brake causing all passengers to jolt forward and vehicles behind to have to swerve not to hit me from behind. False automatic braking when passing a large vehicle. Engine constantly having issues and codes causing poor acceleration and jerking at low speeds. MAF sensor has failed twice in 5 months. Overall worst manufactured vehicle and very unsafe for driver and citizens.
When the vehicle slows from cruising speed to below 20 mph, the car shakes violently and the engine nearly stops. To avoid the shaking, I must place the vehicle in neutral until it comes to a complete stop. If I shift into drive before I stop, the vehicle shudders again. When in traffic, it could cause the vehicle to be rear-ended. My wife won't drive the vehicle because of this. Owners' Forum seems to indicate this is a common problem and may be related to [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
When accelerating the car jerks and shudders. I took it for an inspection and it was code P17F0, the mechanic said it was a safety recall because of this problem.
The vehicle constantly shudders and almost stalls when in reverse or in low gear. The vehicle seems to not switch properly between the hybrid battery to the engine or vice-versa. The vehicle has a recall from October 2021 and Infiniti has not fixed the recall yet. I feel the vehicle is unsafe. I have emailed and contacted Infiniti to no avail. Infiniti has not remedied this recall in any fashion in almost a year.
I took it in for recall R21B4 to be reprogrammed and problem fixed. The problem still persist as I’m driving the vehicle loses all driving power which is dangerous while it has happened to me while driving on the express way. Infiniti is telling me i need to bring it back in to have my vehicle checked out and wants to charge me 186$ when the recall clearly states that the problem is the recall
A few years ago, while in stop and start traffic on a hill, i experienced the hybrid engine and regular engine failure multiple times. Infiniti replaced my transmission. I have yet to recreate the same stop/start situation on a hill but have smelled the same smell of burning while in stop start traffic on a highway. Now infiniti has issues a recall for this very issue. I'm wondering what constitutes a "reasonable time" for infiniti to provide a solution as this is going on 6 months. I'm very concerned that my car is particularly vulnerable to this failure as it has occurred before. Yes, there was a warning that the hybrid system was overheating and then it died not much longer after the warning.
Purchased my QX60 3 months ago from a used dealership. Today while out of town, car abruptly stopped accelerating. I pushed to safety, let it sit, car began to start moving again. Within a short min, it was right back to shutting off and being stuck in traffic with 4 minor passengers. This is very dangerous and seemingly a more common issue than just me. The day after my wedding…. And I’m towing my car.
Car jerks while changing gears. It sometimes hesitates when you step on the gas and often it feels like it "bangs" into gear when it finally does change. It feels like there is a transmission problem. However there does not appear to be any recalls for this. We've had fluid flushes and changes in an effort to fix the problem but it continues to be an issue.
I BOUGHT MY INFINTI QX60 USED A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO. I WAS SO EXCITED TO FINALLY HAVE A BEAUTIFUL LUXURY CAR WITH EVERYTHING I WANTED AND IT WOULD BE A SAFE AND DEPENDABLE CAR EVEN THO IT WAS USED BECAUSE IT WAS AN 'INFINITI'. ALL OF A SUDDEN, RIGHT AFTER HAVING IT A YEAR, I WENT TO ACCELERATE TO GET ONTO THE HIGHWAY ABC'S IT BOGGED OUT ON ME HALFWAY THRU THE PASS OVER ONTO THE HIGHWAY.. SCARED ME TO DEATH. IT CONTINUED TO BOG IT SEVERAL TIMES AFTER THAT. WE TOOK IT TO MECHANIC TO GET THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE FOR THE ISSUE. WE CALLED THE DEALER WE BOUGHT IT FROM ABCE CONNECTED NISSAN/INFINITY. THE PROBLEM WAS A 'TRANSMISSION SHUTTER' ISSUE WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION. WE WERE SHOCKED TO FIND THAT MY DREAM CAR HAD A 'RUBBER BAND' TRANSMISSION.. WITH RECALLS ON OTHER YEARS FOR THE SAME TRANSMISSION. I'VE BEEN QUOTED ANYWHERE FROM $6,000-9,000.00. I FEEL SO UPSET AND DEFEATED BY THIS. THE VEHICLE HAD LOW MILES FOR THE YEAR. IF THIS HAD BEEN A ISSUE WITH PREVIOUS YEARS AND OTHER MAKES AND MODELS, WHY WAS THIS YEAR AND MODEL INCLUDED. I AM PRAYING YOU CAN HELP ME WITH THIS..

SEESM TO BE REALATED TO SIMILAR ISSUE THAT THEY HAVE WITH Q50 CARS "ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) MAY TEMPORARILY LOSE A SIGNAL FROM ONE OF THE ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM'S THROTTLE POSITION SENSORS (TPS). IF THIS OCCURS, LOSS OF POWER FOLLOWED BY SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION CAN OCCUR. DUE TO A SOFTWARE MALFUNCTION, THE ENGINE MAY SUDDENLY LOSE THEN REGAIN POWER, CAUSING UNINTENDED ACCELERATION.

THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND ABLE TO DRIVE NORMALLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. WHEN DRIVING AT LOW SPEED, ON A CURVE, OR ON A HILL THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE, WILL STALL, SHUDDER, RATTLE. WILL NOT RESPOND TO EFFORTS OF INCREASING SPEED. THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT WILL SHOW THE AIRBAG IS NOT ENGAGED EVEN IF AN ADULT IS SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT.

WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A FULL STOP INTO A RIGHT OR A LEFT TURN, THE RPMS GO UP BUT THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCELERATE. THIS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 3-4 TIMES BEFORE MY FIRST 5000 MILES. I WAS TOLD IT WAS PART OF THE ENGINE BREAK-IN PROCESS. WHEN I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN FOR ITS 10K SERVICE, I AGAIN COMPLAINED OF THIS HAPPENING, BUT THEY CAN'T REPLICATE THE RESULTS. IT HAS HAPPENED 2X SINCE MY LAST SERVICE, ONCE WITHIN 24 HRS OF THE SERVICE AND THE OTHER AT APPROXIMATELY 14910 MILES. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR AS I'M AFRAID TO GET REAR ENDED. I HAVE FOUND AT LEAST 3 OTHER REPORTED INCIDENCES OF THIS BY OTHERS ONLINE AND THE DEALERS DON'T SEEM TO BE DOING ANYTHING TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE. I AM ALSO HAVING THE SAME ISSUES AS OTHERS REGARDING THE AIR BAG LIGHT GOING ON AND OFF AT RANDOM.

I BOUGHT THIS SUV IN MAY 2014. ABOUT TWO WEEKS AFTER MY WIFE AND I BOTH NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE SHUDDERS AT 20 MPH WHEN YOU APPLY GAS. IT STARTED GETTING WORSE AND WE CALLED THE DEALER WHO SCHEDULED A REVIEW. THEY EVENTUALLY INSTALLED A NEW TRANSMISSION. WE ARE ABOUT 4 WEEKS AFTER THIS REPAIR AND ARE NOTICING THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN. THERE WERE ALSO ABOUT FOUR INCIDENTS WHERE I WOULD SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT CHANGE INTO GEAR FOR OVER 10 SECONDS.....AS THOUGH IT WAS LOW ON FLUID OR HAD A LINE BLOCKAGE. I ALSO NOTICED THAT WHEN I'M DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED IT AND ACCELERATE, SOMETIMES IT FELT LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WAS EXCESSIVELY DOWNSHIFTING. I SEE THAT THIS HAS ALSO BEEN A PROBLEM ON THE JX35 WHICH IS THE SAME SUV AS THE QX60. *JS
