My vehicle is having issues with the CVT transmission timing chain, I was just aware, there was a recall in the past but my infiniti dealership said it's expired.And they won't help replace it. I'm getting Judder while driving.

The contact owns a 2014 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated that while driving 25-30 MPH, the vehicle shuddered and failed to accelerate as intended upon depressing the accelerator pedal. Additionally, the contact stated that upon shifting into reverse(R) and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to reverse and drove forward instead. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The manufacturer informed the contact that the VIN was included in Infiniti Campaign Number: PC501. The manufacturer scheduled an appointment with the dealer on the contact's behalf. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, and the dealer informed the contact that the TCM software was updated; however, the failure persisted. The Service Advisor at the dealer informed the contact that the transmission needed to be replaced. The regional manager was contacted and informed the contact that the dealer had stated that the service campaign had not been performed, and the vehicle had not been diagnosed. The contact was informed that no assistance would be provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 122,000.

This vehicle started shaking and juttering at a lower speed and made it very difficult to drive. Then I could accelerate and it would not go faster. I took it to a repair shop and they were getting CVT codes for the transmission. I looked online a found that many other people had these same issues as well as a Class Action Lawsuit that was settled a few years ago for 278 million for these problems. I was never informed that this CVT was a problem and could have it replaced from Nissan for no charge. I am not sure why Nissan would allow an unsafe transmission to be installed into a vehicle that would make the car unsafe to drive.

Although the recall was marked complete before I bought the car in 2022, the defect — sudden loss of power — occurred again while I was driving at highway speeds. Infiniti is refusing to assist due to age/mileage, despite clear evidence the recall fix was ineffective or incomplete. Diagnostic codes confirm hybrid system failure (P0A08, C1A1A, C1130). The whole vehicle experiences strong vibrations when accelerating to 30 miles per hour and higher. It also gives strong judder or kicks when turning. Hard to control the vehicle at high speeds. No warning light is on. Took the vehicle to a local dealer (Houston Southwest Infiniti) and found that the problem was caused by a defective rear differential coupler.

The contact owns a 2014 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact drove the vehicle to a nearby parking lot and parked the vehicle. The vehicle was turned off and restarted; however, the gear shifter failed to shift into drive or reverse. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the contact was informed that the installed alternator was not OEM and not sufficient for retaining power to run the vehicle. The contact was informed that the alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was towed back to the residence. The contact stated that the latest failure began in January 2024. However, the vehicle had been towed several times to the independent mechanic and the dealer since the failure first started. The contact stated that the alternator was replaced in March 2024 with an aftermarket alternator; however, the failure reoccurred. Additionally, there were several unknown warning lights illuminated since replacing the alternator. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 85,614.

When the vehicle slows from cruising speed to below 20 mph, the car shakes violently and the engine nearly stops. To avoid the shaking, I must place the vehicle in neutral until it comes to a complete stop. If I shift into drive before I stop, the vehicle shudders again. When in traffic, it could cause the vehicle to be rear-ended. My wife won't drive the vehicle because of this. I bought my 2014 Infiniti QX60 in 2016 that had a little over 68k miles on it. On May 3, 2024, I just hit over $100k & felt the car do a soft lurch then it started to do a small crawl inch by inch. No warning lights came on or messages. Before this happened, I heard what I thought was a flat tire, or a plane taxing sound. I got the car towed to a mechanic shop and was told that I need a new 'transfer case'. I was told that there was a recall for this but do not see it for this model. If Infiniti knew it had problems why was a recall not done. If I want to get it fixed it will cost over $5k again. I already got it changed and the front differential a year ago. So is this something that will have to be done yearly?

While driving on my regular commute, the car sputtered when shifting gears automatically and stopped being able to accelerate beyond 30mph in the middle of a busy road. When the accelerator was pressed, the motor sounded like it was revving but not accelerating. An electric fire burn smell started to emit and a warning turned on for the first time reading “Hybrid System Overheated” as well as the check engine light. No issues before this incident. An independent third party service center confirmed that it’s an issue with the transmission. We confirmed that this is a common problem with other QX60s from 2014 that the transmission fails and replacing it does not guarantee that the problem will be fixed long term since the issue is that the original design of the transmission is flawed.

We get the message "Hybrid engine overheated" and after that loses power/acceleration causing vehicle to stall. This happened twice in last year. First time, we were at the Canadian border idling the vehicle when it happened. We took the car to our dealer for inspection and they said it related to a recall and updated the software. Few months later, it happened again in stop and go traffic and this time the dealer is saying hybrid CVT assembly has to be replaced at the cost of ~$15,000 including tax.

Consistent CVT shudder while accelerating from a "stop" through 25-30 MPH, and also sometimes while accelerating after moving and lasting through 40 plus MPH. This transmission shudder necessitates releasing the accelerator pedal, slowing down, sometimes selecting a different driving mode (i.e., SPORT, ECON, etc,). This has caused difficulty joining the traffic stream, especially at highway "on ramps" and when we have to accelerate quickly to join traffic even during "in town" driving. This initially started last summer and was inconsistent (about 110,000 miles on the vehicle). The last week it has happened repeatedly. According to my research, it is a very common safety problem with this vehicle.

I was driving the Infiniti QX60 and it started smoking and shuddering several times. I had to pull it over and have it towed. I've already had to replace the entire transmission and the transfer 4x4 case and both were brand new. This is nerve wracking and unfair. Something needs to be done. It's being diagnosed but this seems to be constant with this 2014 Infiniti QX60 model. This car needs to be completed pulled and replaced for every dryer for everyone who has one.

The car does not accelerate or accelerate with jerky motion. Occasionally, the vehicle disengaged out of drive mode and would not accelerate. There seems to be some transmission issues as the vehicles is making jerky movement upon acceleration. Almost cause accident on a turn as it could not move forward out of cross traffics!

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The rear AWD electronic coupler is failing. It is available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? If it completely fails, the car can become inoperable while driving at any time. I was also told by the dealer that the differential could damage the transmission over time. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the dealer had diagnosed this issue. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning or messages. There is grinding when turning at low speeds and when driving sometimes there is a "bump" at around 40 mph. This was first diagnosed by the dealer in 2020 and again in 2022. There was a recall of the rear electronic coupler for the same year, make and model but, Infiniti says that it did not apply to my VIN. The TSB is 12-072C. My research of this issue shows that this issue common for my make, model and year. Clearly, this issue affects many more VINs than, originally recalled. The recall for this issue should be expanded to include my vehicle and extended so that this very expensive repair can be made without cost to me. I purchased this car because, I wanted a safe and reliable car to transport my small children. These critical issues jeopardize the health and safety of my family every day. My car is no longer safe or reliable. Additional, in 2020, at the time that the electronic coupler failure was diagnosed, something related to the CVT was replaced because of a recall. This year, I had to have the the transmission replaced. I now wonder if that could have been related to the CVT issue. My catalytic converters also had to be replaced this year.

July 2022 our 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid at 59,000 miles started making this winding/grinding noise. We took it in and was told the transmission needs to be replaced on a car that is only driven under 7500K miles per year and is in otherwise perfect shape. There is an extended warranty for the non-hybrid models due to a class action suit. This is extremely dangerous and a very costly repair to the tune of $7,500. Infiniti is refusing to repair at this point.

During acceleration between certain speeds particularly 40 mph to 60 mph and above the vehicle begins to shudder or vibrate. This is only when applying power and not when braking, steering, coasting or anything else that might be associated with the Brakes, Suspension, Wheel Bearings, Rotors, Tire/Wheel Balance, Tire Pressure, Constant Velocity Joint, . Likely a CVT Transmission Issue. When applying power sometimes while starting out in traffic it feels like the vehicle is not working or not accelerating in tune with the amount of pressure applied to the throttle.

CVT have been told by one Infiniti Dealership the the fluids never need to be flushed, changed or filled. Then I hear about the Transfer Differential which I am assuming is the Transfer Case is leaking and that it would need to be replaced entirely along with the rear coupling costing nearly $10K in repair (Estimated $8,500 alone on these two items). I have found online people and even other Infiniti dealerships where these fluids are flushed and refilled regularly of which in discussing with the dealership these findings, they advised they never have to be flushed, but it is recommended through forums and other dealerships of such. In finding more about the history of my car, I have found that it has NEVER had a flush of the Transfer Differential or CVT or other factors of changing fluids. I advised I recently had a burning smell along with grinding. They only say I need to completely change that out. If I have a leak, then that should have been the first directive in fixing the seal (since this is a sealed compartment). I have 3 times where the power wasn't going to the transmission where I almost got into accidents. Thankfully, the other driver's were able to merge or brake as these were primarily city streets. I found a video where a gentleman had the same issue, the CVT was replaced, and the issue only got worse. How is this allowed or possible?

A few weeks ago our car was driving with a clunking noise, we took it to the shop and the transfer case was found to have metal shavings in the fluid. Our car only has approximately 81,000 miles on it. Our car was at the Infiniti dealership and they diagnosed the transfer case is going bad as well as the transmission. The car’s transmission has a known history of failure to this make and model and therefore it was still under warranty. This was the fourth time the transmission has been replaced! The technician told me about the transfer case, that it was not abnormal for it to go bad on this make and model of car as well. Please look into others with this car and it has there been similar reports, the repair was near $6000. I just paid and brought the car home today.

The contact stated that the vehicle would stall inadvertently while driving at various speeds. The contact was unsure whether there were warning lights illuminated and declined to provide additional information. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to rent a vehicle out of pocket. A case was opened. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was unknown. VIN tool confirms parts are not available.

Turned out it's a bad transmission issue. Nissan/Infiniti will not cover this under warranty, although, it's a known customer experience and concern. I have had to spend too much time/money to take care of this...wish we had NEVER bought this vehicle as it's now become a huge safety-related issue. The vehicle cannot move when you press the gas, it shudders, slips due to the transmission. You just don't have as much control as you would with a typical passenger vehicle FWD or AWD.

Transfer case failed. Car does not accelerate properly. Loses acceleration with speed. Confirmed by dealership but have not been reproduced. Transmission was previously. No warnings of the problem. Vehicle was driving fine. No fluid leaks or concerns. Just wheezing noise that was thought to be rotors or brakes. Upon taking it to the dealership because replacement warranty was still effective was informed that transfer case failed at 46000 miles. No warning signs of issue occurring, but wheezing from vehicle.

I have Infiniti QX60 2014. I was driving with my family from a road trip. The vehicle started to jerk and violently shake when driving about 50 miles per hour. The vehicle almost stopped in the middle of the road. I pulled off and had to driver very slowly with hazard lights on for 40 minutes home. This is a major safety concern for this vehicle.

I bought a 2014 INFINITI QX60 and after one week, my vehicle started to jerk after resuming from a stop sign or stop light but was just annoying at first. Later that day, the check engine light came on and I took it to auto zone to get the code which displayed "P1715 - Input Pulley Speed Signal" and secondary DTCs were P0776 (Pressure solenoid B performance/stuck off. When I am driving, I cannot make it a mile without having my RPMs skyrocket and my vehicle become inoperable and makes me turn my flashers on and find a place to pull over, shut off my vehicle, and restart it. This repeats over and over and over if I continue to get to the grocery store for essential needs but it is not safe to drive and will for sure cause a collision if it keeps happening. There are so many issues with this make/model and needs to be addressed for the safety of others on the road and myself/children as it is unexpected and very scary.

Other cars had to abruptly stop and swerve to avoid hitting the rear of my vehicle. I have been informed that this is a known issue with this model of vehicle from Infiniti related to 2014 – 2017 QX60; FLUID LEAK CAUSED BY TRANSFER ASSEMBLY RIGHT SIDE DRIVE SHAFT SEAL.

I bought the SUV in 2016 with low milage. As of Sep 2021 the SUV has 79,200 miles on it. Last month I noticed that it didn't seeem to be changing gears when I was driving it and it's making a whistling noise when driving it. I've taken it to two different to have it and they both say that it's the CTV transmission. To replaced the tranmisson would cost over $6000.00. Upon researching online I saw that this seems to be ongoing problem with this SUV. We as consumers should not have to pay out of pocket for a repair that the manufactor is reaponsible for.

I was driving my 2014 Infiniti QX60 on the freeway with my son and out of nowhere the QX60 starts shudder and jerking while driving on the freeway. After some back and forth with dealership, was told about the transmission on this model and it needs replacing at $6940 and it is a known issue, but my mileage is over 94K and outside of the Nissan warranty. Consumer would like to withdraw the complaint, problem has been resolved.

IT CONTINUED TO BOG IT SEVERAL TIMES AFTER THAT. WE TOOK IT TO MECHANIC TO GET THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE FOR THE ISSUE. WE CALLED THE DEALER WE BOUGHT IT FROM ABCE CONNECTED NISSAN/INFINITY. THE PROBLEM WAS A 'TRANSMISSION SHUTTER' ISSUE WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION. WE WERE SHOCKED TO FIND THAT MY DREAM CAR HAD A 'RUBBER BAND' TRANSMISSION.. WITH RECALLS ON OTHER YEARS FOR THE SAME TRANSMISSION. I'VE BEEN QUOTED ANYWHERE FROM $6,000-9,000.00. I FEEL SO UPSET AND DEFEATED BY THIS. THE VEHICLE HAD LOW MILES FOR THE YEAR. I NOTICED A SHAKING WHEN CAR WAS RIDING AT 15-25 MPH AND WOULD GO AWAY ONCE I REACHED A HIGHER SPEED. TOOK TO MECHANIC FOR OIL CHANGE AND ASKED TO CHECK. I WAS TOLD TO TAKE TO DEALERSHIP BASED ON CODE THEY WERE GETTING. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A PART OF TRANSMISSION THAT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. THEY ORDERED PART AND WHEN WENT TO DO WORK ANOTHER CODE APPEARED AND I WAS TOLD THEY WERE REPLACING THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION. THEN I WAS TOLD THE ELECTRONIC REAR COUPLING WAS ALSO REPLACED. ALL WORK UNDER WARRANTY. ON THE WAY HOME FROM DEALERSHIP AFTER REPAIRS COMPLETE THE CAR COMPLETELY DIED ON ME. SHUT DOWN ON MAJOR ROAD- DEAD- NOT EVEN EMERGENCY FLASHERS WOULD WORK. HAD ARE IMMEDIATELY TOWED BACK TO DEALERSHIP. I WAS CALLED THE NEXT DAYS TO SAY IT WAS THE BATTERY. I DIDN'T BELIEVE THAT WAS THE PROBLEM AS THE BATTERY WAS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD. AFTER A CHARGE THE CAR WAS DRIVABLE. I PICKED UP AND DROPPED OFF AT MY MECHANIC. THEY TESTED EVERYTHING- BATTERY COMPLETELY FINE AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. CAR WAS FINE WHEN THEY DROVE. PICKED UP 2 DAYS AGO AND HAD THE PROBLEM AGAIN TODAY. THE CAR SHUTS DOWN WHEN GOING FROM BREAKS TO GAS AND FROM PARKED TO GAS. I JUST GET A MALFUNCTION ALERT. WHEN CAR LEFT OFF FOR SOMETIME IT 'RECHARGES' AND THEN IS OKAY.

AS OTHERS HAVE NOTED, THE TRANSMISSION JERKS AND IT LOOKS AS IF I'M FAILING MISERABLY AT DRIVING STICK SHIFT, BUT THE CAR IS MANUAL. WE THOUGHT FOR A LONG TIME THAT THE JERKING WAS DUE TO THE TRANSITION FROM ELECTRIC TO GAS, BUT AS THE JERKING GOT WORSE WE REALIZED IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. SINCE MARCH MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN/OUT OF THE SHOP AT LEAST 6 TIMES FOR THE FOLLOWING ISSUES: SHUDDERING WHILE DRIVING, HESITATES TO ACCELERATE ESPECIALLY ON INCLINES AND REVERSE (I COULD BE SITTING ON A TINY INCLINE AND WHEN I ATTEMPT TO PRESS THE GAS, THE VEHICLE DOESN'T RESPOND, AND THEN WOULD EVENTUALLY JERK AND DRIVE AFTER IT CATCHES THE GEAR), NOT PROPERLY SHIFTING GEARS WHILE DRIVING (ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS DRIVING UP AN ON-RAMP ON THE FREEWAY, THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T ACCELERATE FAST ENOUGH FOR ME TO MERGE), AND MAKES LOUD SOUNDS RANDOMLY. I'VE TAKEN IT TO MY LOCAL INFINITE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY DON'T SEE A PROBLEM WHEN THEY TEST IT. SO I THEN DROVE WITH A TECH AND DUPLICATED THE PROBLEM. BUT THEY CONTINUE TO DENY REPAIRS BECAUSE MY VEHICLE ISN'T REGISTERING ANY CODES WHILE TESTING THE TRANSMISSION, EVEN AFTER THE PROBLEM WAS DUPLICATED. THEY HAVE KEPT MY VEHICLE WEEKS AT A TIME (THEY HAVE IT RIGHT NOW) DOING SOFTWARE UPGRADES AND PATCHING WHATEVER. BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST TODAY. I'VE ONLY HAD IT FOR 8 MOS (PURCHASED PRE-OWNED). I EVEN OPENED TWO CASES WITH INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THEY EVEN QUIT FOLLOWING UP. I WISH I COULD GET RID OF THIS VEHICLE. IT'S NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WHILE THE MANUFACTURER IS REFUSING TO REPAIR A "WELL KNOWN" ISSUE FOR THIS VEHICLE. I CONTACTED INFINITI CORPORATE TO FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT AND THEY SENT A 'TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST' OUT TO REVIEW THE VEHICLE. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT A SECURITY UPDATE FROM 2015 WAS NOT APPLIED TO THE CAR. I'M NOT SURE HOW A DEALERSHIP SERVICE VEHICLE COULD BE MISSING A 3 YEAR OLD PATCH, BUT WE WILL IGNORE THAT FACT FOR NOW. EVEN WITH THE SECURITY UPDATE, THE CAR IS EXHIBITING THE SAME BEHAVIOR. IT IS UNFORTUNATELY NOT CONSISTENT THOUGH, SO SERVICE HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIX. THESE VEHICLES NEED TO BE RECALLED ALREADY FOR SAFETY.

I WAS ALMOST INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT ON INTERSTATE 95 WHEN MERGING, INFINITI HAS REPLACED TRANMISSION AND MULTIPLE OTHER PARTS BUT PROBLEM STILL NOT FIXED. THERE IS STILL A VIBRATING METAL NOISE WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE UP HILL AT A SLOW SPEED, NOT ACTUALLY ACCELERATING JUST MAINTAINING THE SPEED. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 23000 MILES ON IT. INFINITI IS REFUSING TO ACCEPT THERE IS AN ISSUE SAYS THERE IS NO SAFETY ISSUE. INFINITI EXECUTIVE OFFICE ADVISED IF IT DOES NOT HAPPEN WHEN THEIR TECHNICIAN DRIVES THE CAR THERE IS NOT ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE EVEN IF IT IS RECORDED. UNFORTUNATELY IT IS A SPORATIC THING AND UNLESS YOU DRIVE IT 500 MILES YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE ANYTHING OCCUR. I HAD 2 MAJOR INCIDENTS WITHIN 500 MILES. INFINITI EXECUTIVE OFFICE ALSO INDICATED THAT THE NUMBER OF REPAIRS DOES NOT WARRANT A BUYBACK OR SELL BACK OPTION EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE 5 TIMES, WHEN ASKED HOW MANY TIME WOULD WARRANT IT THEY ADVISED THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW MY STATES LAWS. I WAS ADVISED TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE TODAY. SAD THEY ARE WILLING TO PUT A FAMILY IN DANGER EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A VERY KNOWN PROBLEM AFTER SEARCHING THE INTERNET.

I EXPERIENCED THE THIRD EPISODE AFTER A COLD START AND TURNING AND ENTERING WITH PLENTY OF TIME INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY OF 50MPH FROM A BOULEVARD. AFTER TURNING I HAD NO ACCELERATION. ENGINE RPM WAS REVVING EXCESSIVELY BUT IF FELT AS THOUGH TRANSMISSION WASN'T SHIFTING. NO POWER. I HAD TO PULL OVER DUE TO SLOW SPEED AND TRAFFIC COMING UP BEHIND ME. VERY DANGEROUS. AFTER I LET UP ON THE ACCELERATOR I FELT THE TRANSMISSION KICK IN. THEN HAD POWER AND FELT UPPER GEARS ENGAGE.

ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAVE NEEDED TO YANK THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD SO AS NOT TO GET REAR ENDED IN TRAFFIC. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES, WHICH THEY SAID THEY FIXED THE ISSUE BY REPLACING SOMETHING CALLED A BREAK SWITCH, "TWICE" THIS HOWEVER DID NOT CORRECT PROBLEM. THE NATIONAL INFINITI GROUP SENT A RECORDING DEVICE WHICH THE DEALER INSTALLED, THIS MEANT THAT WHEN THIS EVENT OCCURRED I WAS SUPPOSED TO REACH DOWN TO THE CONSOLE WHERE THE DEVICE WAS LOCATED AND PUSH A BUTTON TO RECORD EVENT ALL THE WHILE TRYING TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. I SUCCESSFULLY DID IT WITHOUT INCIDENT AND RECORDED THE REQUESTED 6 EVENTS. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN CONSISTENTLY OCCURRING NOW FOR 7 MONTHS. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FOR MY ELDERLY PARENTS WITH EVERY AVAILABLE SAFETY OPTION FOR THEIR SAFETY, AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO LET THEM DRIVE THE CAR FOR OVER 6 MONTHS SINCE THEY TOOK IT ON A TRIP. CAR WAS TAKEN TO INFINITI DEALER AND SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED ACCORDING TO THE AIRBAG RECALL. HOWEVER THE ISSUE CONTINUES TO REMAIN AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG STILL RANDOMLY DEACTIVATES WHILE AN ADULT IS IN THE SEAT. INFINITI HAS BEEN INFORMED MULTIPLE TIMES BUT STATES THAT THE ISSUE CANNOT BE REPLICATED AND AS SUCH HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING TO FIX IT. INFINITI HAS STATED THAT THE SEAT BELTS CONTINUE TO WORK AND IS THE FIRST LINE DEFENSE IN AN ACCIDENT! PROBLEM 2: APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR, WE EXPERIENCED TRANSMISSION JUDDER AT LOW SPEEDS (5-10MPH) AND GOING AROUND CORNERS. FROM A STANDSTILL, I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR TO TURN INTO TRAFFIC, AND AFTER THE CAR INITIALLY MOVES FORWARD, THE CAR APPEARS TO SLIP OUT OF GEAR EVEN THOUGH IT SHOWS THAT IT'S IN DRIVE. THE ENGINE RPMS REV WITH THE ACCELERATOR PRESSED, BUT THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE OR MOVE. LIFTING UP AND RE-PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR ONLY MAKES THE TACHOMETER RPMS REV UP, BUT AFTER ABOUT 10 SECONDS, THE CAR POPS BACK INTO GEAR. WHEN I PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC, I COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF MY CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE AND LIES DEAD IN THE ROAD! MY HUSBAND AND I WERE TRAVELING ON I-95 SOUTHBOUND FROM CT TO NY WHEN OUR BRAND NEW INFINITY QX60 SIMPLY STOPPED DRIVING BETWEEN EXIT 19 AND EXIT 18 (NE11.9). THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING BUT THE CAR COULD NOT MOVE. WE USED WHATEVER MOMENTUM LEFT ON THE CAR TO MOVE TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THIS MALFUNCTION WAS A LIFE ENDANGERING MECHANICAL FAILURE SINCE WE WERE TRAVELING ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. THE 2014 INFINITI QX60 SHUDDERS (OR BUCKS) MODERATELY TO SEVERELY AFTER RE-APPLYING THE GAS AFTER CRUISING/ROLLING AT 20 MPH WITH RPM AT APPROXIMATELY 1,000. THIS HAPPENS TO ME REPEATEDLY (EVERY DAY) BECAUSE MY HOUSE IS AT THE TOP OF THE CURVE OF HILL. AS I APPROACH THE DRIVEWAY AT THE TOP OF THE HILL, I CRUISE AND THEN RE-APPLY THE GAS TO DRIVE UP THE DRIVEWAY. THE CAR SHUDDERS (BUCKS) AS I DRIVE UP THE DRIVEWAY. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED IT WAS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. THE SECOND ISSUE CAME ABOUT AFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AND HAS YET TO BE FIXED. THE ACCELERATOR WILL INTERMITTENTLY NOT WORK. THIS HAPPENS EITHER FROM A STOP ? I GO TO HIT THE GAS AND EITHER NOTHING HAPPENS OR THE CAR LURCHES FORWARD AND STOPS. I WILL PRESS ON THE ACCELERATOR AGAIN AND IT WILL WORK. THE OTHER TIME IS WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING AND GO TO INCREASE YOUR SPEED ? YOU PRESS ON THE GAS AND THE RPM?S GO DOWN AND NOTHING HAPPENS. I PRESS ON THE GAS AGAIN AND NOTHING HAPPENS. I TRY AGAIN AND IT WILL KICK IN. THE DEALERSHIP HAD OUR CAR FOR 6 WEEKS FOR THE SECOND ISSUE AND CANNOT REPLICATE IT SO THEREFORE THEY WON?T DO ANYTHING FOR US. WE ARE NOW GOING THROUGH AN ARBITRATION PROGRAM REQUESTING A REPLACEMENT OF OUR VEHICLE AS IT SEEMS TO MEET LEMON LAW. WE HAVE AN UNSAFE UNPREDICTABLE VEHICLE THAT WE SPENT A LOT OF MONEY ON. WE ARE VERY UNHAPPY WITH INFINITY CORPORATE AS THEY OFFERED US $1,000 TO GO AWAY. THIS IS NOT ABOUT MONEY BUT ABOUT SAFETY ISSUES. INFINITY CORPORATE ALSO STATED THAT THE NUMBER OF TIMES OUR VEHICLE HAS BEEN SEEN FOR THE PROBLEM IS NOT UNREASONABLE. I BEG TO DIFFER AS HAVING OUR VEHICLE GONE FOR A FULL 6 WEEKS (AND THIS DOES NOT COUNT ALL THE OTHER TIMES IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER FOR THE OTHER ISSUE) IS VERY UNREASONABLE. I BOUGHT THIS SUV IN MAY 2014. ABOUT TWO WEEKS AFTER MY WIFE AND I BOTH NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE SHUDDERS AT 20 MPH WHEN YOU APPLY GAS. IT STARTED GETTING WORSE AND WE CALLED THE DEALER WHO SCHEDULED A REVIEW. THEY EVENTUALLY INSTALLED A NEW TRANSMISSION. WE ARE ABOUT 4 WEEKS AFTER THIS REPAIR AND ARE NOTICING THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN. THERE WERE ALSO ABOUT FOUR INCIDENTS WHERE I WOULD SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT CHANGE INTO GEAR FOR OVER 10 SECONDS.....AS THOUGH IT WAS LOW ON FLUID OR HAD A LINE BLOCKAGE.
