THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND INFORMED HER TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER SO THAT THEY COULD PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC TEST IN ORDER TO VIEW THE ERROR CODE AND DETERMINE WHY THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE BOTTOMED OUT WHICH CAUSED THE AIR BAG TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED BY THE DEALER. SHE WILL NOTIFY THE INSURANCE COMPANY REGARDING THE REPAIRS. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 53,000.

WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH DRIVER HEARD EXPLOSION, SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT ANY KIND OF IMPACT, CAUSING LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. DUE TO WHITE POWDER WITHIN AIRBAG, DESTROYED INTERIOR AND MOULDING OF VEHICLE. DEALER CLAIMED THERE WAS UNDERCARRIAGE DAMAGE, AND COULD CAUSE SIDE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY.
