My 2019 Jeep Lost all power. Shortly after that My service 4wd light came on. I understand that this is a recent recall for the PTU but, my VIN number is not showing this recall. How do I get my Jepp added to this recall for the service 4wd indicator?
What happened : The vehicle experienced a sudden electrical failure and loss of normal shutdown control. The vehicle would not start or turn over. After repeated attempts, it eventually started, at which point all dashboard lights began flashing uncontrollably. The engine continued running even after the ignition was turned off and the key was removed. The only way to shut the vehicle down was to disconnect the battery. This created a safety concern due to the inability to control the vehicle’s electrical systems or safely shut off the engine. The failure occurred without prior warning. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership for inspection. Diagnostics confirmed a failure of the Body Control Module (BCM). The Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) was also found to be non-functional and may have been affected by the BCM failure. The vehicle remains inoperable and is awaiting replacement of the BCM, which is currently on backorder with no estimated availability. The failed components are available for inspection upon request. The issue has been confirmed by the dealership. No crash occurred, but the malfunction posed a potential safety risk due to uncontrolled electrical behavior and inability to shut down the vehicle normally.
The vehicle experienced a sudden and catastrophic failure of the powertrain/engine system. Based on dealer inspection, the failure requires complete replacement of the engine long block assembly, indicating an internal engine failure rather than a minor or maintenance-related issue. The vehicle and failed components are available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others were placed at significant risk. The vehicle first shut off completely while I was proceeding through a four-way stop intersection, forcing me to restart the vehicle while stopped in the middle of the intersection. Later, while driving on a very busy highway, the vehicle again lost power and became completely inoperable. I was barely able to maneuver the vehicle onto the shoulder, narrowly avoiding a collision. The vehicle then would not fully shut off despite multiple attempts, further indicating a serious malfunction. The problem has been confirmed by an authorized dealer, Krebs Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM in Gibsonia, PA. After diagnostics, the dealer issued a repair estimate calling for full engine long block replacement with an estimated total cost of approximately $13,900, confirming the severity of the failure. The vehicle has been inspected by the authorized Jeep dealership listed above. It has not been inspected by the manufacturer directly, police, or insurance representatives to my knowledge. There were no warning lamps, dashboard messages, or noticeable symptoms prior to the failure. The shutdowns occurred suddenly and without advance notice.
Jeep will stall/ or stop completely while driving randomly. Loses power in gas pedal. Electric throttle control light comes on.
While driving my 2019 Jeep Cherokee, the engine randomly shuts off without warning. This has happened multiple times at different speeds. The vehicle suddenly loses all power, and I have to coast to the side of the road. There are no warning lights, messages, or diagnostic codes before or after the stall. The specific component causing the failure is unknown, but it seems related to the electrical/engine/powertrain system. This failure puts my safety at serious risk because the engine dies unexpectedly in traffic, which could easily cause a rear-end collision or loss of control. I had a diagnostic scan done at AutoZone and no trouble codes were found. There were no symptoms or warning lamps prior to each incident ,the engine simply shuts off while the vehicle is in motion. This is a recurring safety hazard.
My Jeep will accelerate forward when breaking, stall at a red light and roll back, massive humming and grinding on the peddle, start/stop failure and failure to start. I've been able to avoid two crashes so far and used my own scanner to detect the problem. Nothing comes up. I bought this shady vehicle oct/3/25. dates of incidents include oct 3rd- November 10th.
While driving my 2019 Jeep Cherokee, the vehicle's start/stop system malfunctioned and caused the engine to completely shut off at a traffic light. I had my hazard lights on, and while stopped safely another driver rear ended my vehicle. The Jeep has had repeated issues with stalling and engine shut-off since I purchased it. This is a serious safety concern and could have caused greater injury. I brought my vehicle to the dealership 3 times for the same issues once back in 01/25/2023, when the vehicle was still under warranty a part was ordered and replaced, but the same issues kept recurring. When I brought the vehicle back in in 2024 I was told because my warranty had expired I would have to pay out of pocket to repair the issue.
Vehicle was at a red light , when turned green vehicle would not drive forward even though was pressing on the gas ..was like it just shut down but was still running.. I was stuck and put my hazards on , then it suddenly started to move forward. Took car to dealer ..they changed me 400 for a diagnostic and said nothing was wrong with vehicle..They said maybe it needs a software update. But they were not sure, and wanted to charge me for something they were not sure about..
Have had multiple issues where stop/stop fails while at a stop in the street and either doesn’t start again or starts after a while. Last time on 10/29/2025 I was at a stop just getting off I-10 and the car would not start and gave start stop error and took multiple minutes before starting again. This first began 5/2024. Dealership has replace the battery, starter relay, and the start twice. It is a huge safety concern for me being stuck in the middle of the street or at a stop
The truck I bought last November 2024..was running kinda bad.. by may of 2025 the tranmission was stalling I call the dealership..and explain my problem. I was told that someone would call me back but that never happened...July of 2025 the car was running hot I had my service work done oil change..tune up..so by August I had to use a jump box to start the vehicle..come September 2025 the truck was just cutting off on the highway or wherever I might have been and everytime I turn left or right it would cut off.. I have been really stressed my job is in jeopardy.. I just been going threw some mental issue with the truck...I really should have been warned about the recall.. I don't think it's fair for car dealership to sell cars that are not reliable and I hope that I can get some help in this matter
While driving 50mhp the vehicle sounded like it was stalling. Couldn't speed up. Svc 4wd and stop/ start system unavailable. There should be a recall to repair but the dealer has no solution or parts. Need solution asap
Infotainment not functioning and draining battery. Back up camera not operational
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving up an incline, the vehicle lost power with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact restarted the vehicle before the vehicle was reset and resumed normal operation. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the electrical system was rebooted because of a loosened wire inside the vehicle. Despite the reboot, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and was diagnosed with a defective alternator. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the alternator was replaced. Approximately a month after the repair, the failure returned, and the power steering assist, battery, 4WD, and other unknown warning lights flashed on the instrument panel. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 61,738

4WD Service Light stays on and Dealership says PTU Actuator box needs replaced @ nearly $4,000 It's a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 70 miles on it. The part is on a high alert back order and may take a very long time to come in. I am really pissed because I have only owned it for 10 months and if I keep driving it, it could destroy the transmission.
Driving from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia, then To DC, then VA, power steering service show up and caused my jeep hard to turning. Completely unexpected. I just got them 2 month ago.
My vehicle, had had issues with the brakes even after repairing (changing them) a horrible grinding and squeaking. The shifter reads "Service shifter soon" how does one even do this. The car jolts forward, or stalls in the middle of traffic, when I press the gas, when I brake sometimes it does not register, I have had the fuel sensor repaired and its still says its not working. I am going to be hit one day on account of this vehicle. I have taken it in to the dealership when these problems started with the auto start and stop censor going off. The windshield wiper line is kinked and I have taken this in multiple times for them to tell me nothing is wrong, and they do not service. Jeep brand is going to kill me due to its unsafe traveling. I have asked called and wrote in and no one will help me.
1. Vehicle dash lights go out intermittently without warning. 2. Vehicle 4wheel system inoperable at times. Warning lights are present
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that the middle digital screen independently turned on the heat, radio, navigation system, A/C, and glitched. My 2019 Jeep completely lost ALL power while driving. There is a clanking sound that no one can locate. There is a change in the way the care is driving as far as power and engine sounds louder than usual. On 9.8.25 my sev 4WD indicator light appeared. I have seen the recalls for ALL these issues I am having but, My VIN # is showing that my care is NOT on the recall list. WHY??? I have had every single problem on the list related to this recall.
the start stop warning light is on now vehicle was idling when vehicle shut down emergency brake automatically engaged then the panel went blank and the windows the emergency warning lights all stopped working Unable to warn motorists in back of me I couldn’t drive vehicle. Then panel lights up again saying to step on brake to start but fails to do so until after several attempts
My car is doing exactly what the newest recall is for the PTU... I lost power while driving, I couldn't put the car in park. I bought a new car the following day and it's been sitting in my driveway ever since.
During certain temperatures my cars emergency brake light will come on, engine light the abs light all at once and the steering wheel will stiff up this used to happen to my 2004 Jeep grand cherokee now it’s with my new 2019 Jeep Laredo
On [XXX] my 2019 Jeep Cherokee (VIN: [XXX] ) unexpectedly caught fire while [parked/operating — choose one], originating from what appears to be an internal electrical or wiring defect. No modifications, aftermarket parts, or repairs had been made to the engine or wiring since purchase, meaning the defect originated from the manufacturer. The fire caused significant damage to the wiring, requiring professional repair, and left me severely traumatized. Although the vehicle was repaired, the incident could have easily caused me serious injury or death. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
The car shut off again in the middle of the road, this really needs to be addressed.
Car shuts off, once while in the middle of a turn almost went off road and couldn’t use brake or turn wheel. There were three other times it shut off at red lights and I have to put car in park and press the start button. Two of those times car had just started with oil light, was told that it is linked to the oil and to always keep it full until recall is issued. However yesterday on my way to work with full oil it shut off again. I then did my regular way to fix it and kept driving to work, out of nowhere my car starts only being able to drive up to 29 miles per hour I’m just about to get on the highway so I pull over and have to shut off again fixing the problem. This seems incredibly dangerous due to it also when having this shut off issue a notice on my car says service 4wd unavailable. We live in New England the snow can be pretty bad. This car feels unsafe, I hope you realize this model has many issues and will address them, thank you!
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while the vehicle was idling at a stoplight, the brake pedal was depressed, and the parking brake was activated unintendedly. The contact pressed the parking brake button, but the parking brake failed to release. The vehicle was turned off and restarted, and the parking brake released. The ABS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic to be inspected. The certified mechanic informed the contact of NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V917000 (Electrical System). The mechanic informed the contact that the instrument panel needed to be replaced. The mechanic referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. An appointment for the vehicle to be inspected was scheduled. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

The car completely shut off mid highway and turned back on. Loss of power at times. My vehicle wasn’t in the recall I believe it should be.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact stated several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the ABS, traction control, and the parking brake warning lights were illuminated. In addition, the back-over prevention and forward collision sensors were independently deactivated. The dealer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact referenced an unknown recall with a similar failure however, the VIN was not associated with the recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 77,000.

The cars start/stop feature hardly works, and it has just stalled right after the start/stop was engaged and then gave me a message saying “start/stop required” and then was in drive but was rolling backwards and wouldn’t start and then when it finally did start it was a sputtering mess. The start/stop feature consistently struggles to work.
The service 4WD light came on [XXX]. We discovered that there is a current PTU recall along with numerous other problems that are potential for recall. We spoke to the dealer (not able to help us) who referred us to the manufacturer. We spoke with Paul of US Customer care who told us to file this complaint. They do not recommend driving the car for safety reasons. There have been vehicles repaired but the repairs do no last. We have not been offered repair. We are on social security and can't afford a rental for reimbursement. We called all Dealers in out area. Their loaners are all taken and they all have waiting lists for loaners. We are left with no transportation. We can't afford another car - this one is paid for. Also, we were not notified of the recall within 60 days. We have been having problems with the electrical panel and AC electrical for about 2 years as well. We would like a replacement vehicle of like, kind & quality as soon as possible. There are many available. With kind regards, [XXX] & [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Delamination of the Display can have settings that affect the way the vehicle physically brakes and steers that are configured via the Uconnect system. Needs replaced
The automatic start/stop feature says there's a problem. One time it started doing weird electrical things and completely shut off while driving. Had to turn it of and wait a minute then restart it. Things seem to be going haywire
The infotainment screen in my 2019 Jeep Cherokee intermittently shuts off while driving. This occurs unexpectedly and has happened multiple times, sometimes while using navigation or the backup camera. On several occasions, the screen has turned completely blue and remained unresponsive for several minutes. The screen controls audio, climate, and safety features, and its failure creates distractions and limits access to key vehicle functions. This issue occurs randomly and has not been resolved. I brought the vehicle to a dealership, and was told that unless there is a recall, there is little they can do beyond basic troubleshooting. I have not received any warning messages or error codes related to this issue. The problem appears to stem from either a software malfunction or a hardware issue with the Uconnect system. The component is available for inspection upon request. This screen failure impacts visibility and access to controls, creating a potential safety risk.
While driving down the interstate, my wife’s car just died in the middle of the highway, no life or lights of any kind. Luckily we got it started again and made it home. Second time it happened, the car shut off on the highway and would not restart. Had to have it towed home, tried taking it to our local Dodge dealership and they said since there’s no”active codes” they couldn’t do anything and sent us on our way. The car has a mind of its own and shuts off and or starts up whenever it wants. The care had a few codes when sent to dealership, service throttle control, lost function in fuel pedal, check engine light was on, start/stop needs serviced, and now the key fobs aren’t working, the car won’t start, acts like the battery is dead when we just had a brand new battery put in. This has happened 3 times to my family and it’s very uneasy when we’re stuck on the side of the highway as a hazard with no hazard lights working, and the car is dead in its tracks with no power whatsoever so ever. I’ve read many forums where more people are having this issue. I’m over the fact that we can’t get an answer to what’s going on, when we are paying for such a high quality vehicle and are having but none stop problems with it. I’ve also had to put a rear differential in the car at 80,000 miles. I’m just hoping to get some answers before something catastrophic happens to my family or someone else on the highway.
The stop start system has been malfunctioning ever since shortly after I purchased the car. When I purchased the car, my father and I asked for a printout of the CARFAX history to ensure we weren't buying a '"lemon". There was no information reflecting that the 2019 Jeep Cherokee Lattitude 2.4 2WD had been serviced for anything other than routine car maintenance. The CARFAX reflected that the previous owner took care of the car, propelling us to seal the deal, otherwise we would've kept looking if there were any found issues. It wasn't until I attempted to get my car serviced at Gettel the first time it malfunctioned that I learned it had been brought to their service department numerous times before it even reached 100 miles. They refused to work on it because the warranty had JUST expired recently, not even a whole year after buying the car (of course) and handed me a piece of paper with the recalls and services regarding the stop/start system. At this point I had to just repair it myself. Fast forward to the second time it malfunctioned: I was in traffic and preparing to slow down to turn when the wheels, brakes, and steering locked up, parking brake turned on and the whole car shut off causing a small collision. The other driver understood what happened and claimed the same thing happened to his wife, therefore he hates stop/start vehicles. He made me promise to never buy another electrical car, charged it to the game and drove away. Fast forward again to currently, now the third time my car broke down: While sitting at a light, it was still running, but as I lifted my foot from the brake pedal the car shut down. There was no indication of anything wrong with the car (S.N. none of the lights on the dash have EVER lit up since I bought it). I contacted Gettel via Google review and NOW they want to do something about this death trap they sold me because I made my situation public. P.S. When I search my VIN# on this site, a completely different car pops up?
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while reversing out of a parking space at approximately 5 MPH, the vehicle lost power steering functionality. The contact used an excessive amount of effort to maneuver the steering wheel. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who failed to diagnose and remove the steering gear rack and pinion. The mechanic determined there was a short circuit in the electrical system for the power steering. The contact stated that the short circuit had caused the rack and pinion to burn out and fail. The mechanic then replaced the wire and the rack and pinion again. Approximately 3 days later, while driving approximately 30 MPH the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was returned to the mechanic who then brought the vehicle to the dealer who would be better equipped to repair the vehicle. The dealer diagnosed that the Exhaust Particulate Filter (EPF) connecter from the steering wheel to the battery had failed. The connector's wiring harness was replaced. The contact searched online and found related recalls under NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 18V524000 (Electrical System) and 19V637000 (Steering). The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recalls. The failure mileage was 87,846.

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle shut off without warning. The vehicle was initially taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed with a defective alternator. The contact disputed the mechanics findings and contested that the vehicle would not restart if the defect was related to the alternator. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic and the vehicle was diagnosed with a defective oil sensor. The mechanic replaced the oil sensor and the battery; however, the failure returned soon after the repair. The contact then stated that several warning lights and messages appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle was then towed to another independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The mechanic suggested that the failure might be related to the electrical panel but was not certain that was the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

On multiple occasions the check engine/service fwd drive light would come on, my car would shake as I accelerated. Also when I would come to stop it would shake as well. I took my vehicle to NTB and Pep Boys multiple times over the years and recently took it to Dodge/Jeep dealership where they replaced PTU
The contact owned a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact parked the vehicle and went inside a restaurant for approximately 30 minutes. Upon returning to the vehicle, the contact opened the front driver’s side door as black smoke poured out of the vehicle. The contact stated that all four windows were covered with black soot. The windshield was cracked. The heater vents and ignition had melted and had fallen to the floor. The dashboard and instrument panel were severely burned with several wires exposed because the contact was able to see inside the dashboard. The authorities were called, but no assistance was provided because there was no active fire. A Police report was filed over the phone. No injuries or property damage were reported. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed by the Insurance provider to an independent mechanic, where the vehicle was later deemed a total loss. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle remained with the Insurance provider. The failure mileage was approximately 181,000.

In the past two weeks, my car has stalled three times, all occurring approximately 5-10 minutes after starting my drive. Everything works fine until I apply the brakes, at which point the car immediately stalls while in traffic. Fortunately, each time, I was able to turn on my hazard lights, pull over to the side of the road, and restart the car—though it took some effort. Each incident also happened when my automatic start-stop system was turned off. These stalling incidents seem similar to a recall issue from 2020, where a computer system update was required. However, in 2020, I was unable to restart the car without a jump after it stalled. There have been no warning lights on the dashboard, and the car has not yet been independently reviewed by a dealer.
The vehicle is shutting down while driving. Full power down. I have replaced the battery and taken it to Jeep. They have reset and ran multiple diagnostics. The car shows nothing wrong. Each time I call MOPAR about the PTU recall which is causing from 2017-2019 Jeeps to shutdown they say my VIN isn’t listed so they are unable to cover it under the recall. My car is doing exactly what the recall is describing.
My car have been having an issue with starting so I changed the battery and a couple of days later my car would not start. And this has been since December 26 2024. And my car haven't started since. Everytime I had to hit the brake a message would come up saying to check the electrical stability thing.
While Driving the vehicle shut off all lights went off on dashboard . Vehicle also jerks forward at stop lights transmission issues. There was no warning light or codes when checked with OBD
The Instrument Screen on our Trialhawk went dark. We cannot see anything in terms of what is going on with the vehicle. This is for other Jeeps that a recall has been called, but it's not showing up for ours.
4×4 temporary unavailable service required. Light has been on since I bought it on November told dealer , and this is connected to my stability control andy rear all over road it acts like it wants to stall and I already went on to ditch 4 days ago due to ice and snow and not being Able control car fully
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle failed to start. When I am at a stop like a stop sign or light the engine will sometimes stall not allowing me to drive. It won’t go which is extremely dangerous. The car will have lights come on about airbags or it’ll be passenger seat belt when I don’t even have a passenger in the car. The brakes have locked up on me when coming to a stop the brakes have gone rock solid allowing no movement and I’ve almost hit other cars due to it locking up and not stopping. You would have thought someone out a rock under my brake. All of this has happened multiple time.
Hi, I am making this report because my jeep has a similar issue I've noticed has been recalled on earlier year jeep cherokees my service 4WD light has come on every time I drive including losing access to my 4WD in the vehicle. While stopped my jeep seems to stall out occasionally at stop lights or signs. Every mechanic we have seen said it could be a manufacture issue but it could also be the transfer case actuator. I just wanted to send this in because it is an issue that would cost my family financially to fix. If there is any way to look into this that would be great.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brakes would activate causing the vehicle to stall and shut down immediately without any warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who determined that oil was leaking from the vehicle. The oil level sensor had been replaced but the failure persisted. The contact stated that while reversing, the vehicle made a bumping and thumping sound underneath the vehicle. Additionally, the brakes were squealing while the brake pedal was depressed. The contact also stated that several attempts were needed while attempting to start the vehicle. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, and the contact was informed that the brakes might not have been properly installed on the vehicle. The brakes and the battery had been replaced; however, the failures persisted. The contact stated that on another occasion while driving approximately 25 MPH, the brakes unintendedly activated, causing the vehicle to stall. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact became aware that antifreeze was leaking from the vehicle. The contact called AAA and the vehicle was jumpstarted after several attempts. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and had the vehicle towed to the residence. The contact stated that the failure was persistent, and the vehicle needed to be jumpstarted regularly. The contact stated that the vehicle would only drive for short distances before stalling and shutting off. The failure had occurred 3 times. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

My vehicle is leaking in the front and passenger seat and my emergency brake comes on and I can't disengage it unless I stop the car and turn it off and back on. Sometimes it takes 2 times to do this. In November, twice I was merging into traffic going 45 miles per hour and it happened. I prayed I wouldn't get smashed. I turned the car off and back on and I was able to disengage the emergency brake. On 1/3/2025, it happened as I was backing out of my driveway onto traffic. I had to turn the car on and off 2 times before I could disengage the emergency brake. I was lucky no vehicles traveling on the road. There is a terrible sound and then the car bucks and you are jarred. I read about an investigation on this same issue back in July 2022. My dealer says until they can replicate the problem they can't fix it. Please help!
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that there was oil leaking from the vehicle. The contact stated that the 4-WD warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that oil was leaking from the oil pan. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called Drivers Village (5885 Cir Dr E, Cicero, NY 13039) and Maguire Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Syracuse (959 Hiawatha Blvd W, Syracuse, NY 13204). The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.

While the car was in motion, the car slowed almost to a complete stop & the check engine light came on, along with the alert “Service Electronic Stability Control”. When pressing on the gas, almost no power was present. Vehicle barely moves. This has happened several times in the last 4 weeks. The first time on 11/12/2024, the most recent time 12/4/2024.The throttle was replaced, but the incident repeated. The vehicle also occasionally rolls when it is put in park.
This car completely shut off while on the highway. Computer change out. Seals on the hatch leaking water. Should be recalled -this was problem before and sold me the vehicle. Glitches in the drive- pauses or jumps speed. Now issues with radiator. It’s crap.
2019 Jeep Cherokee with only 35,000 miles. There was a recall previously for lateral acceleration sensors that covered over 40,000 2019 Cherokees. This vehicle is affected with the same problem, but I’m being told that because the VIN doesn’t fall in a particular range it is not covered. The repair could end up being extremely expensive due to the labor required to repair the defective sensor. The car displays multiple warnings that Electronic Stability Control and 4WD are unavailable. Codes pulled revealed one fault code, C0061 which is for the lateral acceleration sensor which also is tied into the airbag system. Recall V63 (NHTSA 19V-449) issued in August 2019 is related to this exact issue. There are numerous reports of the same problem occurring with other 2019 Jeep Cherokees on Jeep owner forums. Jeep should have expanded the recall to cover this known defect.
Stalling while driving slow. Stalled in traffic. Had to pushed off the road. Started running after a few minutes. Stalled 2 more times while i was leaving home. Would not start again for a few days each time. Alot of sensors are flashing. Has not been looked at by any dealership. Engine shuts down while driving
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH at night, the headlights turned off momentarily. Additionally, the contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the instrument panel and the infotainment system screen display turned on after 15 seconds. The contact also stated that the instrument panel and the infotainment system screen display were turning off intermittently while driving. The contact stated that the forward collision system chime failed to engage while there was another vehicle in the rear proximity of the vehicle; however, the forward collision avoidance system chime engaged while driving by another vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated while driving from a complete stop, the vehicle made an abnormal clunking sound while shifting into 2nd gear. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 350.

4wd indicator light is on - PTU MOTOR OR SYSTEM BLOCKED, FOLLOWED TROUBLESHOOTING PER WSM, TRACED TO FAULTY ELECTRONICS IN POWER TAKE OFF UNIT, NEED TO REPLACE
4wd service light on, faulty power transfer unit. Known issue in Jeep Cherokees, many 2016-2017 vehicles were recalled for the same exact issue
My family and I drove from San Antonio, TX to El Paso, TX on [XXX]. In the car were 4 passengers, including a 11 month old child. At the start of the drive, a warning message that read "4WD overheated. Temporarily unavailable" was seen. The alert showed 1 time and upon a quick search online, was seemingly insignificant. It never showed up again during the drive. We did leave around 4pm so the sun was out and hot, we believed it to be a temporary warning that would not affect our drive as we did not need 4WD during the drive. The jeep did not have a lot of miles on it and was only serviced at the dealership at appropriate windows as recommended by professionals. Once we reached El Paso, a strong smell occurred. Followed shortly by fire and flames coming from the front area, under the hood, near the engine. We pulled off to the side of the road while the flames grew bigger. The infant and all 4 adults were able to exit the vehicle timely but the fire was very large. Many onlookers stopped to check on our welfare. There was an investigation done but all that was said was that there was in fact a fire, and it did in fact start near the front of the vehicle by the engine. Chrysler said they could not determine anything further as there was damage from the fire. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Failing part - 8.4" Uconnect radio/control center of the Jeep. The Uconnect system is failing and started ghosting the vehicle, changes the radio, heat and AC, turns on backup camera, calls 911, etc. This specifically becomes a when it starts calling phone numbers and turning backup camera and becomes a distraction to the driver. The problem has been confirmed as the system control panel has delaminated and needs to be replaced by a Jeep Dealer. We were advised to have a Dealer check and confirm the control panel has delaminated and confirm it needs to be replaced. We followed this guidance from Chrysler/Jeep and Uconnect and told that once we did this and they confirmed it needed replaced they would start the process to replace the control panel. There were no warning signs that this was starting and first started about 6 months ago. It has now progressed to nearly every time use the vehicle the control panel starts ghosting all the controls. We have researched and understand that this is an issue with all the Uconnect 8.4 control systems, doesn't matter which vehicle it is in. What we have been able to find is it has been determined a safety issue in other vehicles and Chrysler/Jeep is replacing them. But for us we were told they would only warranty it to 60,000 miles. We have about 89,xxx miles on our Jeep. I don't understand how it can be determined a safety issue and Chrysler/Jeep can get by only covering this to 60,000 miles. It becomes a major safety issue when it randomly and constantly starts changing the temperature, fan speed, back up camera, radio, calling numbers including 911, this can only be stopped by turning the system completely off. this causes loss of many functions to the vehicle.
While coming to a stop the vehicle just died while in traffic. Managed to get to an auto zone and the code was p018c fuel pressure sensor B circuit low. The stop/start feauture also just randomly stops working. Jeep has no answer to this. The vehicle dying while in traffic could be deadly.
One day before the incident occurred, I was sitting at a red light and the Start/Stop light was green like normal, all of a sudden, it turned amber, and the engine kicked back on. It drove normally, the next day, I tried to start it and it wouldn't turn over, the gas tank was almost full. This is the 2nd time a battery change was done. The first time was for normal service, the battery needed to be changed. The Start/Stop system has worked normally since I bought it (in 2018) The mileage is ~83,000
At random times the radio will start changing stations on its own and it will also dial phone numbers. Most recently it dialed 911 while grandkids were in the car. It will also turn the heat or AC on and off, changes temperature settings, sometimes it turns on the backup camera. everything that is on the Uconnect control panel is affected. The only way to get it to stop is to shut the Uconnect radio system off. This is a safety distraction when it starts these problems. From the research I have done other vehicles with this same radio Uconnect system have safety recalls issued, it needs to be extended to all vehicles with this system.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The START/STOP System warning light was illuminated. The contact parked and restarted the vehicle to correct the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Earlier this month, July, 2024 my car experienced a crash or malfunction of the electrical cluster which has caused all systems like (nav, radio, phone, climate) to not work and automatically turn on and off and switch between apps. Of immediate concern is my car keeps calling 911 after stating the SOS call was unsuccessful. The instrument panel cluster is non operational as stated in the recall. There was a recall for this exact problem stating only 52 Jeep Cherokees were impacted; mine is excluded. The Safety Recall is UC4/NHTSA 18V-917 Instrument Panel Cluster. I believe there is too much of a coincidence between my issue and the exact reason for the recall. I cannot get the company to simply let me talk with someone with knowledge of the recall. Ultimately, I want Chrysler to accept my recall per their own communication around the problem.
1. Component/system failed: PTU 2. My vehicle completely shut off and became disabled while driving - this put my safety and the safety of others at risk. 3. The problem was confirmed at the dealership. 4. The vehicle has been inspected by certified mechanics at the dealership. 5. There were no prior warning lights or signs/symptoms of the problem before failure.
PCM fails intermittently. Dealership is replacing it and has the defective one. Safety is definitely an issue because the vehicle stalls without adequate time to pull off of the road. Unable to move it off the road because it does not engage the transmission. Dealer has been able to replicate and confirmed the problem. Component has not been inspected by anyone other than the mechanic at the dealership. Several warning lights go off just as the problem occurs but not in time to get out of unsafe situations. Recall #18V524000 on 8/8/2018 covers the problem I am experiencing but my vehicle is not in the VIN series covered by the recall. I strongly believe the series my car belongs to should be included. This is a safety issue.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle turned off unintendedly and failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. An unknown recall repair was performed; however, the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was towed to the same independent mechanic where the cause of the failure was not determined. The contact discovered an unknown recall however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

When in stop and go traffic, and in a stopped position at the time the screen flash parking brake and the car was unable to move forward. Had to put the car in park, and back into drive before it was able to move. The other incident occurred when the vehicle was backing up, and the accelerator was being pushed the car slammed on the brakes and said parking brake again on the screen. The car does have rear collision warning, however it does not brake automatically. Incident is not able to be reproduced and was inspected by a Jeep dealership which found no issues. Car does not show any additional symptoms.
This is a known issue with Jeep. But they refuse to repair it at no cost. My emergency brake has become corroded due to water leaking into the module and from time to time the emergency brakes will get stuck to the point my car will not move. This recently happened last night when my vehicle was parked in the garage. I had recently been driving through a major rain storm. And upon trying to use my vehicle the next day... The emergency brakes would not release. My mechanic brought his computer over and verified the check engine light was related to the emergency brakes not releasing. This is a definite safety hazard! I have also noticed that certain safety features are being disabled due to the emergency brake not working properly. For example if I leave my Jeep in drive and open the door the emergency brakes should automatically engage disabling roll away. This feature no longer works. Another future, if my driver seat seat belt was not buckled my emergency brake would engage. This is no longer working. I am very concerned about this. There are countless other reports of emergency brake errors. Please issue a recall!
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while making left and right turns, the battery warning light illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to be restarted. I took my vehicle to a local dealership to have the "auto stop start" system checked. I had a dashboard warning light indicating the system was not working correctly. No other warnings signals were displayed. The dealership performed a diagnostic check but found no problems with the "auto start stop system". The day after I picked up my car, I drove for ten miles and the car overheated. I contacted the dealership and was told to check radiator fluid and drive the car back if possible. I found no radiator fluid in the car. My car required a full engine replacement and several subsequent repairs to exhaust system and driveshaft. An engine can overheat and seize which can cause drivers to lose control and crash. Please note: The original engine was part of recall for oil consumption. Prior to the recall update, I experienced stalling in traffic without warning due to the engine recall.
The engine is stalling while driving and the battery warning will flash across the screen. The battery is not the issue. It was purchased in the last year and has plenty of life left.
Currently the seats sound like they arnt bolted down correctly. Also recently the key fob is failing to unlock the vehicle and its taking multiple trys of pulling the fob out of the ignition and putting it back into the ignition trying it on different sides buying multiple batteries. Also the the vehicle has always gotten stuck in gear, hard shifting.
SUV parking/emergency brake automatically activates without driver doing this. This is what happened: stopped at red light foot on brake. The SUV has the feature to shut the engine off when stopped. Light turns green foot then goes to the gas. When the foot is lifted off the brake, the engine tries to restart and hesitates and at the same time the parking/emergency brake activates without this being activated by driver Unable to move forward more than a few feet and car stalls. Car has to be put in park. Engine completely needs to be turned off by driver. And the emergency/ parking brake shut off. This creates a significant safety risk for the potential of the car(s) behind the SUV accelerating into the back of SUV assuming that the SUV will be moving forward. I have encountered others with a Jeep Cherokee/ Compass with the same issue and cannot understand why there has not been a recall for this. The dealership attributes this to needing a new battery- they replaced this already. No one should have to drive like this. This has been ongoing for a while prior to the miles noted in this report. The symbol with an A and a circle with an arrow at the end of the circle and an ! Appear on the dashboard in orange.
The 4WD service light is on. It isn’t driving right. The internet says thousands of people have similar issues- all reporting the same thing. And defective PTU units are listed as the cause.
It will occasionally stall to accelerate. As well as the electrical system for radio, thermostat, camera etc in dash won’t turn on or work intermittently.
While driving, car reved itsself up and when in neutral, sensor said 4wd Neutral Warning Vehicle May move even in park…..4wd System unavailable service required…Had a diagnostic done of the sensor light that came on. Diagnostic said codes u0403 for T-Case, C14A7 PTU motor. After much reading and research this same part was recalled in the years 2014-2017 Jeep Trailhawks. The PTU loss power and had me and my family on the side of the hwy! It made some jerking and clicking noise when attempting to switch the gears to drive. There is also an electrical issue where the heat will not stay on selected option. The radio flickers and will not stay on a station. The radio also was powered off and was still playing.
The radio has started switching channels will not stay on one set station. Along with radio switching the touch screen also changes from maps to calling 911 and making sos calls, the back up camera will turn on while driving down roadway. The screen is constantly blinking and changing causes major distraction especially at night when it catches your eye. It is a major distraction while driving.
Without any previous warnings, the car stopped in the middle of the drive. Then the battery warning turned on, after trying to turn it back on.
My car's parking brake comes on during both stopping and driving, especially during acceleration. It recently engaged as my daughter, who was using my car to go Christmas shopping, was accelerating from a stop light and into an intersection. She was almost hit from behind when the brakes locked up in the middle of the intersection.
I have a 2019 jeep cherokee 4wd with 46077 miles. This has never happened before until now. It was dark out heading to work. I came to a stop when I went to go the jeep just literally shut down. Everything turned off- I had no lights, no engine, no warning at all. Would not start at all. I called my husband and when I opened the driver door the jeeps dash finally came on and I tried to start it, wouldn't at first than tried again it started. I turned around and drove back home. Contacted the garage. This is unsafe for anyone to put their life on the line. I was lucky I didn't get hit. I have 5 grandkids and this is not a safe vehicle to drive when there is no warning at all. Luckily It didn't do this on the railroad tracks. The garage told me to take back to the dealership. The dealership said there are no recalls on my vehicle. However, I see other jeep cherokee with the same issues and have recalls. Why risk my life or anyone else. All jeep cherokees of any year or engine size should be taken seriously.
My battery went out and I literally replaced it last year. Also when I replaced it last year the back light would stay on sometimes all night and day I was worried it could start a fire or something dealer didn't even bother checking it and left it like that and replaced the battery. Last month my vehicle wouldn't start and no warning or nothing before it just died on me good thing I had it in my driveway when this happened.
Jeep touchscreen delaminating. 2019 Cherokee. GPS randomly changes, phone calls with connect randomly made. Seat and radio settings change on their own.
Stopped car at red light. Car died. Totally. Engine cut out. Brakes failed, no steering. Tried to restart multiple times. Luckily light was on a decline. Ended up putting it in N and drifting through intersection and into parking lot. Again, no steering, no brakes. Very frightening. When turning key initially after stall, lights on instrument panel lit up but no engine start. By the time I got into the lot, not even lights. Totally dead. Had it towed to dealer. No idea what's wrong. VIN says no unrepaired recalls but this sounds an awful lot like the " engine stall" recall for 2.4L engines. Bought used with 5k miles. Wondering now if this issue was previously " fixed" and is recurring, if it can be permanently fixed or is an unsafe vehicle. I'm [XXX] and transport 2 grandchildren under 8. Vehicle would randomly not start. Initially, it was several months between episodes. Would not jump-start so I would have it towed to a service center / dealership. Once off the tow truck it would start right up. Diagnosis would not find anything and all systems checked out. After several episodes, I decided to leave it at Jeep dealership so they could troubleshoot. They opened case with Jeep but after several weeks, could not replicate the issue. I spent several hundred dollars between diagnosis and towing costs. A simple google search revealed that it wasn't just me having this exact issue with several Jeep vehicles, and even this same model. Tried to get jeep to buy vehicle back but they denied. They sent me to arbitration and they also denied my case. The vehicle again wouldn't start and sat in my yard for 2 weeks, however, all of the Jeep dealerships within 50 miles of my home were "behind/full" and couldn't get to me for several weeks. I threw money at it and replaced the starter. The vehicle started back up and I sold it. It was the most frustrating experience ever and I felt that it's a known issue with Jeep and they refuse to recall/fix. They were willing to pay for some of my costs as long as a Jeep dealership did the repairs. Sounds like an admission of guilt to me.
The auto stop start feature is causing the car to stall out and shut off during a complete stop. The car check engine, light and auto start lights turn on. Then the car starts shaking and vibrating. It’s very unsafe to drive vehicle!
While stopped at a stop light the car just died, no warning lights. It just went from running to dead. I was blocking a lane of traffic and could not put the car in neutral as nothing was working. I had to call for police assistance due to traffic and being in a vulnerable position, he was able to manually put the car in neutral and push me onto the grassy median to wait for a tow truck. After I had my car towed home I was able to jump start it with jumper cables.
While sitting in a parking lot waiting for my children after school my vehicle went from running to dead. No warning lights just dead. As this had previously happened to me I found someone to jump may car and it started right up. It is as if the battery just dies and the car shuts off but nothing works. BUT when I had the battery checked it was found to be in good working order.
Driving on the highway fortunately about 20 MPH and the jeep Cherokee limited died while moving. Could not restart it and had to get towed off the highway . Jeep dealer said it was because of a dead battery that could not hold a charge. Never in 4 years had a problem . Not sure why a dead battery would cause the jeep to shut down completely while moving. Battery replaced and now the radio is dead according to the dealer . Have not picked the jeep up yet
This is my second complaint regarding a Jeep and this time about a 2019 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 Limited, I turned in a complaint re: 2019 Jeep Compass as they both have the same problem. The stop/start system has drained the secondary battery, in turn draining the car battery, in turning almost killing the alternator, The failure left me in the middle of a busy intersection with no possible way to restart the car. It could easily have gotten me killed. There was no warning , no light, no nothing. There is an extreme failure in this system and I want to know why the mechanics for Jeep do not tell you that the secondary battery is a problem and will be again as it isn't changed out when the car battery is replaced. (the demise of which is a result of the failure of the secondary) t is a n unnecessary and a lousy one,
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, the PUSH to START button failed to function as needed. The contact stated she replaced the batteries in the key fob; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.

I believe my PCM went bad.
I was driving on the highway when all of a sudden my car just shut off. No warning or anything. My speed went from 75 miles to 0 in less than a minute.
The issue is prevalent in previous model years as well, PTU failure with associated SVC 4WD light, 4wd unavailable message, and grinding sound as the PTU splines self destruct. At the time of incident, was doing approximately 30 mph, rpms revved up, but felt powertrain lose power, rpms lowerd, transmission made a thud noise, vehicle lost power, then regained power with grinding noise. Took vehicle to local auto shop, ptu is not accepting commands, and is faulted.
While approaching a traffic light, the jeep just stalled. After trying to restart, the vehicle had no success proceeded to use key for automatic start and system rebooted and was able to start. This was the second time it happened within a month the first time was also at a traffic light, the car just shut off there were no lights indicating there was any issue. Had taken it to an auto mechanic to run a diagnostic and there were no codes in the system. The second incident was yesterday 618 2023 and finally, the engine light has come on Went to an auto parts store had them run a diagnostic and the code was U11C2. The code had shown possible issues may be with the TCM faulty transmission control module, or the PCM. The powertrain control module was faulty. Other possibilities were circuit was poor electrical connection or harness is open or short it. Again, all pertaining to the transmission control module or powertrain control module.
Engine wiring harness caught fire with 14,000 miles
Extensive heat related damage to engine wiring harness, repaired at dealership due to no complete harness available.
Inspected engine wiring harness. Wires for ignition coils show heat damage and bare wires exposed. Unit has been parked for 2 months waiting on parts
I came to a major intersection and the SUV shut completely down. Would not start up. Steering wheel was stuck. Then voltage dropped to 11.7 volts. The battery always reads 13.7 and higher usually. Afttercharge back to 13.7. I was driving for 45 minutes continuously before incident happened.
As I was turning at an intersection, my battery light quickly flashed and the car stalled. This has happened 3 times in the past week. This is an obvious safety risk as the car would not move until I restarted it. I have read multiple issues of this occurring recently to other models of Jeep Cherokees
The auxiliary battery doesn’t not work properly in the vehicle. The car has turned completely off or with the emergency break light on several times while driving when I come to a complete stop. This is a huge safety concern. This is my second battery and the dealership is saying it needs to be replaced. I purchased a brand new one last year.
When I stop at a red light the engine goes silent, like it should, but three time in the past few weeks the car has completely died and not restarted as it was supposed to.
The Jeep has the auto start-stop system that turns off the engine when stopping for a prolonged amount of time but the car is still in drive. When I use this, the car often will lose all power when trying to restart and will take a moment before regaining power while I am at the stoplight. I also had a problem with the car starting in general. It will often lose power for a moment when starting. The battery is in good shape. It was just recently inspected while at an oil change. The battery is not the problem. The electrical system is (as I have read whilst doing research since this problem started).
The entire infotainment unit malfunctions, including the rear view camera, heating and cooling controls, navigation system, cell-phone service and radio-related controls. For example: the rear camera comes on when driving down the road, the heat comes on in the max setting (instead of the a/c) in the summer or the a/c comes on in the winter, the navigation system suddenly displays maps in far-away states, the car’s Bluetooth cell# pairing repeatedly dials the numbers in my cell contact list and the radio station buttons beep and keep rapidly changing the radio stations.
I was driving the Jeep Cherokee and it stalled while driving, and engaged the parking brake. I then had to put the vechile in park release the parking brake turn it off then on again in order to make it operational. Since then the vehicle has started to have issues with EVCS and breaking system. The vechile will stall and engage parking brake while idling, driving, or even in park. Having a vechile that engages the braking system automatically increases the risk of getting into a crash. This has happened numerous times and brought up to the dealership in which they stated the vechile was in need of an oil change.
My personal owned 2019 Cherokee has a bubbling/delamination issue with the infotainment screen. Screen has bubbles which obstructs the view for using reverse. The screen has visible obstructions which could render view and cause a crash, serious bodily harm, or death. This has been a ongoing issue with these screens and needs to be addressed before there is a death.
My car just stated acting up I got several warnings, start stop not working, all the systems falling, I have checked battery and alternator but not luck it still have the same issues. Transmission not shifting. It died while I have’s driving on a really busy highway, luckily I was able to pull over.
Failure Date: 03/06/2023 and before this date. The stereo was replaced and it had two recalls and my car vin was one recalled the recall was fixed but it’s been two years so the warranty out but same issue that was never fixed. I purchased my Jeep in 10/2018 and I have reported numerous times that my car stalls while driving on freeway or street I was told it was because it’s low on oil But all my warning lights come on and then the emergency brake comes on the the jeep stops and car won’t start. I took it to the local dealership in March and the technician did not find anything wrong. They replaced battery and the same day I got it back the car died. The problem still persists they had my car for two weeks, I got the car back on April 11, 2023 and April 12,2023 stalled again and lights come on and off. My lights or windshield wipers turns off and on by itself while parked, the techs say they can’t find anything wrong. Most recently since my vehicle has been stalling out while driving and the sterring wheel is locking up and the battery light comes on. This issue is now becoming very consistent and happening every day. The vehicle has stalled out on me in the past week numerous times in traffic. My engine light is on, auto start and stop system is unavailable and electronic stability control system is offline. I have report the development to my local dealership and they cannot correct the problem. This is a major problem and based on the research that I have done, alot of the Jeep Cherokees have this issue. This jeep is VERY UNSAFE AND IM AFRAID I WILL GET HIT IN THE BACK. Please explain to me how a jeep dealership can’t fix my car? My car is a lemon that I paid 26,000 dollars for
Vehicle shut off while in drive, engine and all electrical power stopped.
Warning lights for multiple electric systems including Blind spot monitoring, throttle control, stability control, and transmission all came on at the same time. Windshield wipers turned on on their own, car started behaving like it was neutral when in drive (would rev instead of accelerate when pressing gas pedal). After pulling over and turning the car off, car would not restart, brake pedal would not engage to attempt restart. Left stranded on side of road. Vehicle just crossed 37k miles.
When vehicle is in idle mode it completely shuts off causing risk of a accident
For the passed few months (beginning Sept 2022), my cars temperature gauge inside shows that its running hot even when there is coolant present. When checking the coolant prior to taking off the cap, the conatiner looks empty. However, when i take off the cap there is a gurgling noise and the container refills on its own. Unfortunately. I've had to add coolant to my car every 5-10 days to make sure it stays full because it constantly says it's hot, all the way to the H. Since then there have been a list of other issues: 1. heat has randomly stopped working and the check engine light has come on. 2. Error message saying automatic stop/start is unavailable and service stop/start 3. Lots of jerking when pressing the gas petal to accelerate and you can hear the gears trying to move, but it gets stuck at 1 number and then a hard jerk 4. Ticking/knocking sound when driving (started 1/1/23) 5. When using the dash screen, it randomly blanks out and I am unable to see/hear until I restart the car 6. Seatbelts lock when trying to put them on after starting the car. The belts will not move and it cannot be put on until after I move the car in reverse/drive.
Ever since I bought this, the battery keeps dying. There is something in the electrical that keeps draining the battery. I went online and typed in "2019 Jeep Cherokee battery keeps dying" and there are HUNDREDS of people with the same problem as mine. I went to AutoZone and had my battery tested. The man tested the battery and it was fine. He told me that something electrical was draining the battery. Can you help us?
This vehicle equipped with turbocharge. On 3 different occasions vehicle stalled instead of accelerating while pulling out into traffic from a stopped position. Message appeared saying "Service electronic throttle". Also, ESS symbol came on in red where warning symbols appear at the same time.Later, that went off and electrical symbol came on, looks like lightning bolt. Engine did restart itself after about 20 seconds, with vehicle shuddering rather violently. This could have caused a serious accident.
I have problem with my ac stop work after next day i went to change my oil on the dealer , now work and stop work , they said i need to pay 100 for let me know what is the problem , also the star/stop not work for long time ago .
The parking brake automatically engages while the vehicle is in MOTION. This is extremely unsafe as I have to shut off the engine and turn it back on in the middle of the road.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while stopped in traffic, the vehicle lost electric power and shutdown without warning. The contact stated she moved around the battery cables and the vehicle was able to restart. The dealer was contacted and stated that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was unknown.
My car shifted into neutral while driving and flashed "park to shift to drive" on the dash. I had to park, turn the car off, then turn it back on in order to drive. This happened 7 times trying to get home. The next day it just shut off while driving and the check engine light came on. I could have been rear-ended or caused an accident. My car would not accelerate until it was turned off and back on. I had people blaring their horns and swerving around me. The dealer told me the codes were an evaporative pressure switch and CAN bus code. They diagnosed the CAN bus issue as the PTU and replaced it. When I picked up the car, I had a rattling noise under the hood. I took it back to the dealer. When they fixed it, the ESS (Engine Stop/Start) was no longer working. A few weeks later, the jeep won't start and can't be jumped by other vehicles. Roadside assistance could get it started, but as soon as they disconnected their commercial jumper, it died. Had to tow back to dealer. Now I am told it is the alternator and battery.
Hello -- My Jeep has had a repetitive issue with the Start/Stop system since I took ownership. In recent months, my vehicle has stalled on two separate occasions by completely shutting down at a stop light. First the "hood switch is open" alert comes up, then an emergency braking alert comes up, all while the vehicle completely shuts off as I am accelerating. This is extremely dangerous as it could definitely cause an accident as I'm mid-intersection. I have taken my vehicle to Jeep to complain of the issue, but they have let me know that the vehicle is not recording the error codes and there is nothing to be done. They literally send me home to continue driving it and have the stalling happen again. I have done extensive research and found that I am not the only Jeep owner with this issue. In fact, they have also gone through very similar frustrations with the dealership as they state there is nothing to be done. From my research it looks like it could be the IBS connector (intelligent battery sensor), but it also could be a poor electrical system. Please help.
Vehicle auto stop/start malfunctioning. Vehicle has shut off while driving. Vehicle has shut off while coming to a stop. Vehicle fails to start with auto stop/start feature. Vehicle currently won’t start.
I bought this car end of July 2022, around 31,000 miles from a Jeep dealer. Within weeks I began receiving alerts on my dash that the 4WD needed to be serviced as well as the start/stop function. Dealer had my car in Sept for almost two weeks. Today, something flashed on my screen stating electric failure and it completely shut down. Nothing will turn on. It had to be drug up onto the tow truck as it could not be placed into neutral. Upon reviewing online resources, this appears to be an issue with this year/model, often happening while the car is in motion. This is terrifying! I have owned two Dodge Journeys and am currently leasing a wrangler. I have been a long time Dodge/Jeep customer and am terrified to drive this vehicle! If I could hand the keys back I would. The service center at the dealership said that they “should” be able to look at my car next week- just to look at it!
I was driving down the road, got onto the highway, and I suddenly lost my power steering. I noticed the red warning light come on right when it happened. Up to this point I never had any problems with the power steering or any warning messages. It was raining pretty hard, and I could not safely pull over for a couple miles. I finally found a space to pull off to. Turned my vehicle off, let it sit for a little bit and then turned it back on. The warning was gone and everything felt ok. So I got back onto the highway and 3 minutes later it all happened again. I was able to make it to my destination and hoped that if I let it sit a little longer maybe it'll fix itself. After about an hour I went to go start my car and the warning was still on and this time a warning message appeared stating my power steering needed servicing. I turned my car off and then back on and the message was gone and everything was working again. I left my destination to go back home about a mile down the road I lost my power steering again, this time both the light and the message appeared. I made it home and the issue continues to persist. I only have 45k miles on it. This just happened today so I have not been able to get it into a shop. The fact that this happened on the highway was very scary. I had a very hard time just trying to get it back into my driveway.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated shortly after receiving routine maintenance at unknown local dealer, the infotainment screen delaminated. The contact also stated that the vehicle would independently call 911. The contact took the vehicle back to dealer where it was diagnosed with needing the radio to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V917000 (Electrical System) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 66,343.
Mileage: 66,343
The multifunction display delaminated after 30 months of ownership. This caused random phone calls, changes to the navigation settings, seat heater functions to randomly come on/off and constantly rotated through various settings. The results of these daily occurrences have caused very dangerous distractions. More than once I have drifted out of my lane trying to stop things from changing.
When stopped at a light, the light turned green, the parking break engaged and the car shut off. The car behind me almost rear-ended me. After waiting a minute I put the car in park and tried to start the car again. I had to put the gas pedal to the floor to get the car to start and not stall out. This has happened on multiple occasions. I took the car to the dealer and learned that I had a motor with faulty rings and was given a new motor, however this problem has still persisted. The driver side door also accumulates water. Enough water to hear when making a turn.
Center dashboard Information Touch Screen is delaminating and causing erratic driveability issues (automatic transmission shifting and lurching at a stop) and most recently navigation mistakes
Vehicle stalled when slowing to a stop prior to coming to a complete stop, power steering went out and loss of vehicle control almost causing wreck 7/15/22.
The knee air bag on the drivers side is partially hanging out of its compartment , despite never being in a wreck. The engine stalls out during take off ! The anti theft system keeps locking me out
Auto stop shuts off the whole car at a red light when trying to start back up it fails & automatically put emergency break on & leaves us stranded in the middle of traffic. It has happened a handful of times. Also, when the car is completely off & I start to start it up it girls the first time until I try a second time. The car also has trouble accelerating & shifting gears.
The past months I've have been having trouble with my 8.4 Uconnect radio. I was told by a jeep dealership that I need a new radio paying out of my money and another dealership, originally from where I purchase the vehicle, that they can't do anything to help me. The issue is the lamination on the touch screen is peeling and causes the radio to press its own buttons all the time. i cannot use apple car play, Bluetooth, navigation system, USB port, radio, maps, google maps without it going crazy. it takes me longer to get to places with maps and have unable to answer phone calls hands free. I have a 7-month baby that I constantly have in the car and would like to avoid potential accidents. there hasn't been any accidents
The contact called on behalf of her son who owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently shut down. The contact waited a few moments and then restarted the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact also stated that the instrument panel was blank. Additionally, the brakes would lock while depressed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 41,000.
Mileage: 41,000
The engine and electrical system will completely shut down while in drive and will not restart right away. This happens in the middle of intersections most often when attempting to make a turn. This has happened up to ten times and in the most recent occurrence the car would not restart at all in the middle of an intersection with our baby in the back seat on a hot day. We were stuck with no A/C and no ability to get the car to start until help arrived. The car was towed to a local JEEP dealership and they said it was due to the thermostat and battery which we replace but it has since happened again. In all occurrences, there were no warning signs before, during or after the engine/electrical failure. Additionally, they stated the ar may be overheating but all occurrences have happened in the first few minutes of driving with no indication of the vehicle being over temperature.
While driving at 55mph. The vehicle shutoff and would not restart. Very dangerous to lose power at that speed. Engine light came on and stayed on. Vehicle would not restart. Engine codes read high voltage on PCM modules, brake modules, automatic transmission modules.
I was driving on a highway and the car completely shut down. there was no ability to start car back up using the power start or by pressing the start button. was unable to shift into neutral to move the car out of traffic, causing a jam. the car needed to be dragged onto a tow bed. took the car to jeep dealership to which no codes came up when they scanned it.
The 8.4" Uconnect screen in my Jeep Cherokee is delaminating. When this happens, the screen will eventually become unusable and I will not be able to access my radio, climate control, safety features, vehicle settings, etc. Additonally, the screen will randomly "click" on different things, meaning that it could, at any time, call SOS or 911. I am unable to use the screen at all while I am driving, so I have to pull over on busy highways to change a radio station or turn on the A/C. This is a widespread issue with vehicles that have this screen.
Whenever the oil level gets below 50%, the car stalls when the engine isn’t warm enough usually 5-10 minutes after turning on. If attempting to turn the car stalls and the engine shuts off and steering wheel locks up. Have happened to me 16 different times. The worst occasion is when I was on the high way going 80 MPH and there was a slight turn. While turning the car stalled and steering wheel locked up. I had to brake and went onto the shoulder and luckily stopped before hitting the guard rail. Took to Jeep dealership multiple times and they just said to get a quart of oil and put it in to avoid this. Apparently only for 2.4L engines. Have had only one option to fix the problem, get an entire new engine on my dime.
The car shuts off while driving without any warning whatsoever.
The touchscreen, which controls all the electronics, nav, climate, radio, phone, etc...has been going bezerk, changing all the settings without being touched. At times, while driving forward, the backup camera has come on. The radio stations will change without notice, screen settings and options pop up. I think you are starting to get it. Once, it dialed someone 27 times back to back while the vehicle was being used. Many instances of this on web forums It is absurd, distracting to the driver, and dangerous. Incident happens multiple times - using todays date.
I PURCHASED MY JEEP IN 09/2018 AND I HAVE REPORTED NUMEROUS TIMES THAT MY LEFT FOG LIGHT TURNS ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THE TECHNICIAN DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE PROBLEM STILL PERISTS AND I HAVE DECIDED TO NOT USE MY FOG LIGHTS. SECONDLY, MY RADIO TURNS OFF AND ON BY ITSELF WHILE DRIVING ALONG WITH OCCASSIONALLY APPEARING WITH THE ENTER ANTI-THEFT LOCK CODE. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND AS USUAL THE TECHINICIAN DID NOT FIND ANY ISSUES. MOST RECENTLY SINCE 12/20/2021 MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN STALLING OUT WHILE DRIVING AND THE STERRING WHEEL IS LOCKING UP AND THE BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON. I HAVE REPORT THE NEW DEVELOPMENT TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY CAN NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE TECHINICIAN WILL ASSESS MY CAR ANY SOONER THAN MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT ON 1/18/2022. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM AND BASED ON THE RESEARCH THAT I HAVE DONE, ALOT OF THE JEEP CHEROKEES HAVE THIS ISSUE.
When stoped car turned off. Car cant turn on and I need to wait a while. When stoped and going to turn it turns off. It stalls a lot especially when stoped at a light or stop sign.
Unknown. Vehicle stalls at red lights causing the emergency brake to come on and at least 3 attempts to restart my vehicle.
Unknown. Alarm will sound randomly, exterior lights will flash on and off when vehicle is shut off. Screen display will shut off and sound will turn up and down
CARVANA tried to drop off this Jeep Cherokee with the air bags exposed on both the drivers side and passenger side. There were also exposed wires on the passenger side. I rejected the vehicle and they put it right back up for sale seconds later. They also are refusing to come pick up the original vehicle that I had swapped for the Cherokee. This is what I sent them: I swapped a Jeep Compass for a Jeep Cherokee (VIN [XXX]). The delivery person [XXX] shows up 11/27/2021 and before he even gets the Cherokee off the truck, he offers me a $100 visa gift card saying the inside is dirty. I open the drivers side door and the air bag is exposed, dirty and wet. [XXX] says I can keep it, just get it fixed at a dealership. I said “NAH”. I go to the passenger side and it’s the same situation, the panel is hanging down and there are exposed wires. I said “nah I’m not keeping this car” and I begin taking pictures of the damages. The delivery dude [XXX] then asks me not to take pictures. I did anyway. Then [XXX] says “well I’m not gone say you rejected it. Imma just leave it as is” to which I said “no it’s rejected. I’m not taking this car I reject it.” I never got in the car, I have ring cameras that recorded it all. He loads it back up and leaves. Fifteen minutes later the car is back for sale on Carvana. I called Carvana to tell them they needed to come pick up their compass because I no longer want to do business with a company that would deliver a vehicle with defective airbags. They give me the complete run around for TWO days saying they can’t just come get the car, contracts have to be filled. The same contract I signed with the compass was the same contract I signed on the Cherokee that was instantly back for sale. How?? I never signed any financing contracts on either car because the mileage was under reported on the contract and I wasn’t about to sign anything with inaccuracies. They told me it would take 10-20 business days to come get their car. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (F
Car just stopped for no reason going 65 mph on the highway. Could have been a very bad accident.
Second time in under a year battery went dead. The first time, While I did take it to the dealer to get it replaced under warranty, still puzzling as to what is draining the battery. Dealer said alternator was good. I’m taking in today to get it fixed. My car is all factory, no mods, no add one. This is my daily driver, drive about 36 to 40 miles highway.
Vehicle will not unlock or respond to key fab, after waiting it sometimes does, other times disconnecting negative battery cable and reconnecting it, function is restored. Far worse is at time when driving total electrical system failure occurs, engine fails, all dash board lights fail, light turn lane indicators and door locks. This has happened repeatedly and last time in heavy freeway traffic exiting. Took car to dealer and he said it was a low battery, this is the 3rd battery in 20 months. Dealer had car for 7 days and returned it now with Electronic Start Stop not functioning, after 3 weeks problems are still there, an independent mechanic says these are known Jeep problems, and confirmed it is not low battery voltage, I'm an electrical engineer and these failures happen when battery is at 14.0 volts, fully charged after 90 minutes of driving, and then car will start perfectly to only fail again. At this time I feel it's not safe to drive .
About a year ago I took the vehicle in for a recall notice. Software update needed to be run due to the vehicle shutting off during operation. I took the vehicle in for the recall service. Since the recall my vehicle has now started doing the same thing. It seems to happen when slowing to a stop or downshifting. Vehicle totally shuts off, no lights, including break lights, everything shuts off including radio, hazards won't go on, car just totally shuts off. Happened to me at a busy intersection tonight and I nearly got rear ended. Only warning light was the battery when attempting to restart the vehicle. This has happened 4 times in the last two days, this is my only vehicle and I must drive it.
Vehicle will shut down and reset while in traffic. Will take 5 plus minutes to be able to turn back on. Emergency Brake will automatically engage. AC compressor failed no longer working.
While driving, the Jeep suddenly loses all power and shuts down. This is extremely dangerous as it seems to happen at random. So far only on side streets, but what if I was in the middle of an intersection? The manufacturer knows this is an issue with the model year and make, complaints litter the internet. They have not issued a recall, I suppose someone needs to die first.
1) The radio screen display has become streaky. The term used by the dealer is "delamination". This "delamination" can be easily seen whether radio is on or off. 2) The Uconnect function of the radio without prompting: a) Switches back and forth between Satelite radio and AM radio. b) Randomly calls people on the phone contact list. Numbers 1 and 2 above cause driver distraction and makes it harder to read vehicle information such as back up camera and navigation displays. The dealer has confirmed "delamination". There were no warning lamps, messages, etc. The issue first occurred in February 2021.
UNKNOWN The radio fades in and out. Happens only some of the time but if it is going to happen it happens right away or it doesn't happen at all. It sounds to me like the wiring is faulty. I checked the uconnect website and it says my software is up to date. I have seen this same complaint all over the internet. My sister-in-law has the exact same problem. Jeep refuses to take responsibility or really figured out the issue so that it can be fixed. There has to be something they can do. It is maddening and really sounds like it could be something applied to the lemon law.
At least three times the Jeep has turned off while at a stop but still in drive. The automatic start seems to be related. Now the automatic start has shut off on its own (was not manually disengaged). The first couple of times this occurred we were at a light and the auto start was on so the Jeep went idle. When we pushed to turn the auto start button to off , the vehicle completely shut down while in drive. We had to pt Jeep in park and restart engine.
I have the 2019 Jeep Cherokee High Altitude 2.0 turbo 9 speed transmission. We have had this same problem since we bought this vehicle. It doesn't happen all the time but I believe is getting worse. The notorious very very hard shifting & stalling problems. This seems to happen at any speed, at anytime, & doesn't matter how you drive it the problem still persist. You can be driving 35 mph on a straight stretch, no breaking, no change in acceleration, and it will suddenly shift very hard! The other problem that I believe is connected to this is stalling before it decides to shift. Sometimes 3 to 5 seconds before shifting very hard into gear after it finally decides which gear it wants to shift into. It has created some very scary moments that my family & I could have got into an accident multiple times because it took so long to shift. Please be my guest & inspect it! No check lights or anything like that. I did have the battery go bad a year after we bought it. That might have to do with the start/stop system even though it is equipped with a bigger battery and better starter.
First the auto stop quit working. The vehicle lost power as I was driving and no warning lights have come on. Now the cruise control has stoped working with no warning lights. Periodically the vehicle will lose power the radio/screen will reset as your driving.
On several occasions my vehicle turned off while driving. When vehicle turns off, steering wheel locks up and my turn signals do not work. We bought and replaced a new battery. Within a week the issue started again. Today it happened twice within 45 minutes apart. Again, the car completely turns/shuts off. We have to find a safe way to stop, put it in park, wait a couple of minutes then turn it back on.
Front panel electrical lights and radio do not work
Unknown of what the issue is but since I bought my 2019 Jeep Cherokee latitude recently I've took it in for service multiple times paid out of pocket because when I slow down it shudders bad and stalls at time this is dangerous I was on the highway and it stalled dead right in the lane and a semi truck almost crashed into me. I took it to the dealership they first said my oil was 1 quart low which I didn't believe then they did a pcm update on another visit and problem is still there this almost gave me a heart attack I could have got killed! Either reimburse me for the problems or investigate what this could be.
My vehicle turned off in traffic, the emergency break kicked in, jerked my car backwrads, and then turned back on almost causing me to wreck. It has happened three times.
This particular year and model of jeep has 2 recalls not registered to my VIN number related to my accident. Airbags- impact and acceleration sensors. Steering- steering rack gear. Tonight while driving my jeep to my local walmart, my steering completely quit and locked up on me causing me to go off the road, hit a speed limit sign, almost roll my vehicle, and cause possible irreparable damage that may total my vehicle all together. The impact was hard enough to cave in my whole front passenger side fender, rip my mirror completely off, dent both passenger doors deeply, bend my door frames, and almost completely tore off my rear fender. During this, my air bags did not deploy, and I know the accident was bad enough that they should have. This could have been life threatening, and could have ended entirely worse than what it did. My power steering pump seems to be working fine, but my jeep itself is still registering it as a power steering issue, which makes me believe that there are significant electrical issues with the jeep itself.
I bought my 2019 Jeep Cherokee in February 2021. I've had issues with the vehicle not starting about 2 months after I bought it. Recently I have had to jump start my car to get it started. On the highway this evening all these warning lights were popping up, and my vehicle just shut off, everything. Thankfully I was able to get into the breakdown lane. After a while, I was able to start my vehicle and check the vehicle information. My battery voltage was at 17.1. I safely got my vehicle home. I let the car sit. Then tested the voltage on the battery and it was normal. The alternator was good as well. However, the minute I start my car, the batter voltage is in the red again. My 5 year old daughter was in the vehicle, I was driving on interstate 84 in Connecticut. We could have been injured or killed if I did not get to the side of the road.
On hot days/days when A/C is running, the car will fully shut off when stopping at a stop light when the auto-off functionality is on (which is by default “on” with every ignition cycle). The lights go out, the dashboard computer and instrument panel go dark and then the car does a hard reignition. From time to time the the car will not turn back on automatically giving an error to the effect of “power On/Off required.” In this instance the vehicle must be shifted to park to be able to reignite the engine chambers and then the vehicle must be put back in drive - taking ~30 seconds and causing traffic snarls - endangering fellow travelers and those in the vehicle.
While stopped @ traffic light or stop signs, when start to go car jumps when gas is applied. Has not been reported to anyone yet, no warning lights displayed. Has not caused accident as of yet. Electrical equipment has had problems since came off lot.@ times usb ports work @different times.it says to connect device every time even when it's plugged in already, I'm not sure if jumping is motor or transmission. I was told by dealership ( salesman) that the problem with USB problem was ok. I'm afraid it may cause safety issues in the future ( jerking engine).
My 2019 Jeep Cherokee stalled at a red light, stalled inside a car wash (brake light on) unable to move. Then twice this week stalled at stop sign battery light came on. Battery is perfectly clean all connections are tight.
VEHICLE HAS STALLED (COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WITH NO STEERING ABILITY) WHILE DRIVING ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. NO WARNING LIGHTS OF LOW OIL OR ISSUE WITH VEHICLE. BURNING THROUGH OIL AT 1 QUART FOR EVERY 800 MILES (UNHEARD OF) FOR CASUAL DRIVING IN NORMAL CONDITIONS. CAR WILL REV VERY HIGH AND NOT CHANGE GEARS SMOOTHLY. HESITATION ON STARTING AND HESITATION AND SPUTTERING ON NORMAL ACCELERATION. MANY ISSUES AND HAVE ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE FOR LESS THAN 3 MONTHS.

I HAVE RECEIVED WARNINGS ON MY DASH SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS BRAND NEW. AUTO STOP START CONTINUES TO MALFUNCTION . PARKING BRAKE DEPLOYS ITSELF AND SOME DAYS THE STEEP WON'T TURN ON AND TOUCH SCREEN DOESN'T WORK. SINCE ALL THIS HAPPENS WHILE I AM DRIVING AND NOT AT DEALERSHIP THEY INSIST IT DOESN'T OCCUR AND HAVEN'T REPAIRED EVEN AFTER KEEPING MY VEHICLE IN THEIR SHOP FOR THE FIRST SIX MONTHS I OWNED IT.

ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL" LIGHT COMES ON AND EITHER THE CAR FAILS TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY (EVEN AFTER TURNING CAR OFF AND ON) OR THE CAR SHUTS OFF AND WON'T RESTART. WHEN THE CAR WON'T RESTART, YOU CAN'T EVEN PUT THE CAR IN NUETRAL TO PUSH IT OUT OF THE WAY, BUT THE RADIO AND DASHBOARD DO LIGHT UP - ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT IS ON. WITH THE ACCELERATION ISSUE, IF I'M ON THE FREEWAY AND NEED TO ACCELERATE TO PASS A CAR OR MOVE OUT OF THE WAY, I CAN'T - IT'S WAY TOO SLOW. I HAVE TO JUST STAY IN THE SLOW LANE AND BE VERY CAREFUL. I'VE BROUGHT IN TO DEALERSHIPS 4 TIMES FROM NOV 2019 TO MARCH 2021. ONCE THEY JUST TURNED THE CAR ON AND OFF AND SAID IT WAS FINE BECAUSE IT RESET ITSELF. THE NEXT TIME, THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY. THE NEXT TIME THEY REPLACED A SWITCH FOR THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY, THE NEXT THEY SAID THE BATTERY TERMINALS WERE LOOSE AND CORRODED.

I BOUGHT MY JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE PLUS IN MAY 2019. 6 MONTHS LATER THE STOP/GO FUNCTION STALLED AND THE CAR TURNED OFF DURING A TURN AT THE LIGHT. I ALMOST GOTTEN REAR ENDED WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE BACK SEAT. HAD TO PUT IT IN PARK TO GET IT TO TURN ON AGAIN, MIND YOU I AM STILL IN THE INTERSECTION. THE CAR TURNED ON BUT CONTINUALLY DID THAT AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK. THE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, I DO NOT KNOW HOW IT HAS 4 OUT OF 5 STARS. THE CAR HAS A HARD TIME STARTING. I HAVE TO TRY SEVERAL TIMES TO TURN IT ON. UNTIL RECENTLY, IT JUST WON'T TURN ON ANY LONGER. BATTERY IS FINE. THE STARTER IS NOT DOING ITS JOB. I HAVE TO GET IT TOWED TO THE DEALER ABOUT AN HOUR AWAY TO GET IT LOOKED AT AND FIXED. DON'T KNOW IF IT CAN GET FIXED. I HAVE READ THAT OTHER OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE HAVE HAD THE SAME TROUBLE AND SEEMS AS THOUGH THEIR CAR IS ALWAYS IN TROUBLE.
MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE WITH THE 2.4L HAS REPEATEDLY STALLED WHILE DRIVING SINCE PURCHASING 4 MONTHS AGO. UPON DOING RESEARCH, I SEE THERE'S BEEN MANY RECALLS ON SIMILAR VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ENGINE AND YEAR AS MINE, HOWEVER MINE IS NOT COVERED. CONSIDERING MY VEHICLE IS ALSO STALLING WHILE DRIVING AND DECELERATING, I AM FILING A COMPLAINT TO BROADEN THE RECALL TO INCLUDE MORE VINS. ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS, MY VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING WHEN SLOWING DOWN BUT STILL IN MOTION. IT WILL NOT STAY RUNNING FOR THE PAST WEEK WHEN DECELERATING.
Mileage: 47,800
FOR THE PAST 4 DAYS, MY VEHICLE STALLS WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT WARNING. IT HAPPENS EACH TIME WHILE DECELERATING, BUT STILL IN MOTION. THERE ARE/WERE RECALLS ON THE EXACT YEAR AND ENGINE MODELS AS MY VEHICLE, BUT ACCORDING TO MY VIN, MINE IS NOT INCLUDED SO I AM FILING A REPORT. IT IS A 2019 2.4L AND STALLS WHEN IN MOTION.
THE A/C DOES NOT WORK AT ALL , THE CAR IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD .

THIS VEHICLE STALLS OUT IN TRAFFIC AND STUTTERS WHEN STARTED. EVEN WHEN THE AUTOSTART BUTTON IS "ON" THE CAR HESITATES AND STALLS FROM STOP TO GO. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT WHEN TRYING TO PULL OUT FROM AN INTERSECTION FROM A STOP. THE SUV SMELLS OF BURNING OILS ALL THE TIME. I SET A SERVICE APPT WITH THE DEALER TO ASSESS THE STALLING PROBLEM AND BURNING OIL SMELL. I WAS TOLD THAT THE STALLING WAS FROM THE "ENGINE PERFORMANCE" AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE. AS FAR AS THE BURNING OIL SMELL, I WAS TOLD THE ENGINE BURNS THROUGH 1 QUART OF OIL PER 1,000 MILES AND I WILL NEED TO CONSTANTLY CHECK THE OIL. THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, IT IS THE WAY IT IS MADE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! JEEP HAS NOT BEEN VERY HELPFUL.

6 MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE IT STALLED OUT OF NO WHERE IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AND STALLED AFTER A COUPLE MINUTES IT STARTED BACK UP I TOOK IT IN THEY SAID IT WAS THE BATTERY BUT I DOUBT IT CAUSE IT WAS 6 MONTHS OLD. THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND DIDN'T WANT TO START UNTIL THE NEXT DAY I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE AGAIN AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE OIL BEING LOW I CHECKED THE OIL MYSELF AND IT WAS FULL AND CLEAN NOW IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME A THIRD TIME STALLED ON THE FREE WAY WITH INCOMING TRAFFIC BEHIND ME AND STALL OUT OF NO WHERE I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS VEHICLE NO MORE! I THINK IT HAS AN ENGINE ELECTRICAL ISSUE.

OUR 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE LIMITED HAS JUST OVER 12K MILES. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (DASHBOARD, RADIO SCREEN DISPLAY, AND GEAR SHIFT LIGHTS) GO BLACK OR DARK GREY, AND WE HAVE NOTHING DISPLAYED - SPEEDOMETER, GAS GAUGE, CLIMATE CONTROLS, MESSAGES, OR ANY OTHER SAFETY INFORMATION. WE ARE JUST DRIVING ALONG, AND THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER JUST QUITS WORKING. THIS HAS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES NOW. THREE TIMES THE DISPLAY CAME BACK ON AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES, ONCE AFTER STOPPING THE CAR AND RESTARTING, WHILE ONE OTHER TIME IT DID NOT WORK AGAIN UNTIL WE STARTED THE CAR THE NEXT MORNING. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, BECAUSE WE ARE DRIVING WITHOUT ANY VITAL INFORMATION. WE HAVE TAKEN OUR JEEP TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS WHO DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE BECAUSE THEY SAID THERE WERE NO ERROR CODES DISPLAYED. THEY STATED WE WOULD NEED THE JEEP AT THEIR DEALERSHIP INDEFINITELY AND THEY WOULD NEED TO DRIVE IT EVERY DAY UNTIL IT HAPPENED WHILE AT THE DEALERSHIP. WE EVEN POINTED OUT TO THE DEALERSHIPS THAT THERE WAS ALREADY A RECALL ON 2019 JEEP CHEROKEES FOR THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILING, BUT THEY SAID OURS WAS NOT ONE OF THE JEEPS IN THE RECALL. IF YOU GOOGLE "2019 JEEP CHEROKEE DASHBOARD DISPLAY PROBLEMS" OR SOMETHING SIMILAR, YOU WILL FIND DOZENS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ISSUE.

CAR SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THANKFULLY COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY WITH MINIMAL USE OF THE STEERING WHEEL. I PUT IT IN PARK AND GOT IT TO START AGAIN. THEN IT OCCURRED AGAIN A FEW MINUTES LATER AFTER I HAD EXITED THE FREEWAY ON A SIDE STREET. AGAIN PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN GOT IT TO RESTART AGAIN. VERY DANGEROUS. ALL OF THIS WITH A BABY IN THE BACKSEAT.*DT THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICE ON 2/15/21 AND THE ONLY DEFECT FOUND WAS A LOOSE BATTERY TERMINAL.

WHEN COMING TO A STOP LIGHT OR TO TURN MY VEHICLE SHUTS OFF AND NOW AS I WAS TRYING TO LEAVE THE PARKING LOT IT COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT START BRAKE BECAME HARD TO THE POINT WERE THE PEDDLE DIDN'T MOVE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING AS WELL AS THE BATTERY LIGHT. WHEN ENTERING THE FREEWAY AND WAITING TO MERGE MY VEHICLE SHUT OFF LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO START IT BACK UP AGAIN.

JUST PURCHASED 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK THIS WEEK. IT HAS 27000 MILES ON IT. WENT TO FILL GAS TANK AT GAS STATION; JEEP WOULDN'T START. I HAD TO USE THE REMOTE START OPTION TO START WHILE SITTING IN THE JEEP WHICH LED THE HORN TO BLOW CONTINUOUSLY.

WHEN COMING TO A STOP IN THE VEHICLE, THE 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE (BOUGHT USED AT 52,000MI) AT 59,000MI NOW POWERS OFF RANDOMLY. APPARENTLY THIS IS DUE TO A SOFTWARE ISSUE THAT WAS RECALLED, BUT I DO NOT SEE MY VIN AVAILABLE FOR SERVICE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AS I AM AFRAID OF A NEWISH CAR TURNING OFF WHILE ON THE ROAD.

A COUPLE TIMES NOW MY JEEP HAS SHUT DOWN ALL ELECTRICAL SPELL PROPULSION EVERYTHING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC WHILE DRIVING WHILE SLOWING DOWN AND IT'S VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY THIS MORNING WHEN I WAS IN AN INTERSECTION WITH A SEMI BEARING BARRELING DOWN ON ME AND I HAD NO STEERING NO BRAKES NO PROPULSION NOTHING THEN THE D FOR DRIVE ON THE DASH STARTED BLINKING ALL SERVICING IS UP TO DATE AND NOW THERE IS A WARNING LIGHT

I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND MY CAR SHUT ITSELF DOWN AND THEN WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BREAK IT STARTED TO GO BUT THEN IT IMMEDIATELY SHUT THE CAR TOTALLY OFF AND SAID THERE HAD BEEN A START STOP SYSTEM FAILURE.I HAVE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH MY RADIO NOT COMING ON WHEN I TURN MY CAR ON AND I HAVE TO TURN MY CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH ALL OF A SUDDEN MY FLASHERS COMING ON FOR NO REASON AND I AM AWARE OF AND THEN I HAVE TO TURN MY CAR OFF AND THEN BACK ON FOR THEM TO STOP FIGHTING I ALSO HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE SEAT NOT GOING BACK INTO PLACE LIKE IT SUPPOSED TO ON THE MEMORY RECALL I'VE HAD ISSUES WITH MY CAR NOT BEEPING WHEN I'M GOING TO BACK UP AND THERE'S SOMEBODY BEHIND ME OR SOMEBODY COMING CLOSE TO BEING BEHIND ME AND I'VE ALMOST HIT SOMEONE ONCE BECAUSE THE ALARM DIDN'T GO OFF. THIS CAR SEEMS TO BE HAVING NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL ISSUES BUT THE ONE I'M WORRIED ABOUT THE MOST IS THE FACT THAT THE CAR JUST DECIDED TO SHUT ITSELF OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD.

WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, UNKNOWN PROBLEM CONSOLE DISPLAY AND DISPLAY CONTROLS SWITCHED ERRATICALLY AND BECAME NONFUNCTIONAL, DISABLING CLIMATE CONTROLS, SWITCHING RADIO STATIONS, AND CONSOLE DISPLAY LIGHTS AND DASH LIGHTS (SPEEDOMETER, COOLANT TEMP, FUEL ETC..) TURNED OFF. DANGEROUS CONDITION DUE TO NO HEATER DURING 9 DEGREE F WEATHER.

ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE HAS STALLED OUT, WITH OUT WARNING, WHILE I WAS DRIVING, ONCE ON THE FREEWAY AT 70 MILES AN HOUR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. AFTER SEVERAL TRIPS TO THE DEALER I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS ENGINE, THE 2.4L HAS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM, IN THAT BURNS ABOUT A QUART OF OIL EVERY 1000 MILES AND WHEN THE OIL GETS TOO LOW THE ENGINE JUST SHUTS OFF. NO WARNING LIGHTS, JUST SHUTS EVERYTHING OFF. AT 70 MILES PER HOUR IN TRAFFIC, HAVING THE ENGINE STOP AND SUDDENLY LOSING POWER STEERING AND TRYING TO MOVE THOUGH TRAFFIC TO THE SHOULDER WHILE RAPIDLY DECELERATING IS VERY DANGEROUS. THE DEALER AND FCA ARE OFFERING NO SOLUTIONS FOR THIS ISSUE. FROM A PUBLIC SAFETY PERSPECTIVE THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE RECALLED, NOT TO MENTION THE ENVIRONMENTS COSTS AND CONSUMER PROTECTION ASPECTS.
Mileage: 30,000
JEEP STALLS WHEN OIL IS LOW, BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON, I HAVE TO PULL OVER, RESTART MY CAR, AND IT RATTLES. STALLS WHEN I TURN, AND BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON.
Mileage: 5,000
AS I STOP AT A STREET LIGHT USING THE AUTO START/STOP FEATURE...THE JEEP DID NOT TURN BACK ON. I WAS STRANDED AND NEEDED A TOW. EVENTUALLY WITH A JUMP AND TURNING OFF THE AUTO START/STOP BUTTON, THE JEEP WILL DRIVE JUST FINE.
THE VEHICLE WILL STALL FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE HAPPENED IN THE TURN LANE AT A BUSY INTERSECTION, ON A HILL, IN THE RAIN. THE CAR ONLY RESTARTED AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WILL ALSO LOSE STEERING FOR NO REASON WHILE DRIVING. THE BATTERY LIGHT WILL COME ON WITH THE ISSUES DESCRIBED ABOVE. ALSO, THE CAR WILL CHIME WHILE DRIVING, WITH NO TROUBLE INDICATION ON THE DASHBOARD.
Mileage: 37,000
THIS HAPPENED MONTHS AGO AND THEY CLEANED SOME CONNECTIONS TO FIX IT BUT ITS HAPPENING AGAIN. AT FULL SPEED THE CAR COMPLETELY LOSES ALL ELECTRONICS INCLUDING POWER STEERING, BRAKING, AND THE DASH GOES BLANK. THEN IT FLASHES A SERVICE TRANSMISSION WARNING WHILE EVERY ALARM AND LIGHT ON THE DASH COMES ON. AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND PUTTING IT IN PARK IT WILL RESTART AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES OVER 2 DAYS.
Mileage: 58,000
WHILE DRIVING, MY CAR WILL RANDOMLY SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. THERE IS A DINGING NOISE AND A QUICK FLASH OF THE BATTERY LIGHT AND THEN IT SAYS THE PRESS BRAKE AND PUSH START. I CAN NOT ACCELERATE BUT CAN BRAKE. AS SOON AS I'M COMPLETELY STOPPED, THE STEERING LOCKS AND IT STRUGGLES TO START AGAIN. IT IS RANDOM AND HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE IN A ROW. IT HAPPENED 4 MONTHS AGO AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THE BATTERY FAILED AND REPLACED THE BATTERY, BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN A WEEK AGAIN WHILE I WAS TURNING. AFTER I RESTARTED IT, IT DID IT LIKE 15 SECONDS LATER. THEN TWO DAYS AFTER THAT IT SHUT OFF RANDOMLY WHILE I WAS DRIVING 35-40 MPH DOWN A STRAIGHT ROAD. I'VE TAKEN IT IN AGAIN AND THIS TIME THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. BATTERY WAS FINE, NO CODES. EVEN THE SOFTWARE THAT GOT UPDATED BECAUSE OF THE RECALL (STALLING WHILE DRIVING) WAS FINE. I'VE SEEN PEOPLE SAY THAT THE OIL LEVEL CAN CAUSE IT TO STALL, BUT MY OIL WAS AT 60% AT THE TIME IT STARTED HAPPENING. IT'S NOT SAFE THAT THE CAR RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WITHOUT NOTICE, WHILE DRIVING ON A ROAD OR HIGHWAY. THAT CAN CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF IT HAPPENS AT THE WRONG TIME.

GOOD EVENING! I PURCHASED THIS 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE PLUS WITH ONLY 10 MILES ON IT. THE FIRST 1000 MILES WE HAD ISSUES WITH THE START/STOP FEATURE. THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE IN DRIVE. I TOOK IT IN AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID THERE WERE 40 FAULT CODES. THEY CLEARED THEM AND MOVED ON. IT HAPPENED AGAIN BUT THIS TIME, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THEY CLEARED THAT CODE AGAIN. THE THIRD TIME I TOOK IT IT WAS WHEN THE CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN BUT THIS TIME THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND MULTIPLE LIGHTS WERE FLASHING. I TOOK IT IN AND THEY SAID THERE WAS A LOOSE BATTERY AND WIRE. THEY FIXED IT AND NOW WE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE RADIO. THE SCREEN KEEPS FLICKERING AND MAKE BEEP NOISES. IT HAS EVEN FROZEN UP ON US. WE HAVE DOCUMENTED ALL OF THIS WITH VIDEOS AND I WOULD BE HAPPY TO SHARE THAT WITH YOU. AFTER THE 7TH TIME BRINGING IN THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP IS STILL UNABLE TO FIX IT. I TRIED TO HIGHER A LAWYER TO SEE IF THIS IS LEMON BUT WITHOUT THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM, THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO. I JUST WANT MY BRAND NEW CAR FIXED. I'VE READ HUNDREDS OF OTHER REVIEW WITH THE SAME ISSUES PLEASE INVESTIGATE!! THANK YOU!

I HAD JUST HAD MY VEHICLE 6 WEEKS DRIVING FROM A STOP TO ANOTHER STOP. CAR STARTED CHUGGING THOUGHT I HADN'T GIVEN ENOUGH GAS THEN I THOUGHT IT POWERED DOWN AT THE STOP .LIGHTS WENT OUT ON BOTH CLUSTERS WENT TO ACCELERATE CHUGGED COULDN'T GET ACROSS STREET CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON I COASTED TO THE SIDE AND IT WOULDN'T START WAITED 15 MIN INCHED HOME ABOUT 3 MILES CALLED DEALER SENT A TOW TO PICK CAR UP HAD IT FOR A WEEK HAS SAME PROBLEM. THEY SAID TO BRING IT BACK 500 MILES WHEN IT HAPPENED HAS 3500 NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE. I NEED A VEHICLE CAN'T LEAVE FOR EXTENDED TIME AND NOTHING IS DONE

CAR STALLS WHILE WHILE IDLING. CAR HAS TO BE PUT BACK INTO PARK AND IT TAKES A FEW TRIES BEFORE THE ENGINE STARTS AGAIN. DEALER INSPECTED THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND REPLACED THE BATTERY 3 MONTHS AGO.

6 TIMES IN THE LAST WEEK, MY CAR HAS SHUT OFF MID DRIVE. AS I AM DRIVING, MY CAR WILL DING, MY BATTERY LIGHT WILL FLASH ON AND THEN MY CAR WILL COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WITHIN 3-5 SECONDS. I WILL HAVE TO TURN MY KEY TO OFF, WAIT A MINUTE AND RESTART. I WILL HAVE TO PUMP THE GAS PEDAL AND MY CAR WILL SPUTTER BEFORE IT TURNS OVER AND STARTS BACK UP. UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES, I DO NOT HAVE ANY ENGINE LIGHTS DISPLAYED ON MY SCREEN FOR ATTENTION AND EVERYTHING RUNS SMOOTHLY. I HAVE ALSO CHECKED MY BATTERY ON THE SCREEN DISPLAY AS I DRIVE AND IT IS ALWAYS BETWEEN 14.2-14.4V. DURING THESE SHUTS, MY CAR IS GOING UNDER 30 MILES PER HOUR, BUT HAS HAPPENED AS I AM TURNING AND GOING STRAIGHT. MOST RECENTLY (THIS MORNING), I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT (HAD JUST PULLED OUT OF MY PARKING SPOT AT MY APARTMENT) AND MY BATTERY LIGHT TURNED ON AND MY CAR LOCKED. THE STEERING WHEEL AND PEDALS WERE UNUSABLE, BUT MY ENGINE REMAINED ON. I CHECKED MY BATTERY DURING THIS AND IT SAYS IT WAS AT 12.2V. I HAD TO SHUT MY CAR OFF, PUMP THE GAS TO TURN THE ENGINE OVER AND MY BATTERY DISPLAYED AS BACK AT 14.4V. THIS HAPPENED 3 MORE TIMES BEFORE I WAS OUT OF MY APARTMENT COMPLEX (EVERY 50 FEET OR SO) AND I TURNED AROUND AND PARKED AGAIN. I HAD MY CAR HOOKED UP TO DIAGNOSTICS MACHINE AFTER IT BEGAN THE FIRST SHUT DOWNS, BUT IT RETURNED WITH NO ERROR CODES AND MY BATTERY TESTED FINE AND ALL THE WIRES WERE SECURE. I CALLED MY JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED I AM OUTSIDE MY WARRANTY (BY 800 MILES), SO I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE FIX. THIS IS CLEARLY A DEFECT WITH MY CAR. I CAN SEE THROUGH ONLINE RESEARCH THAT MANY OTHER JEEP CHEROKEE OWNERS ARE HAVING THESE EXACT ISSUES AND JEEP IS GIVING THEM THE RUNAROUND. I ALSO SEE THERE ARE SOME RECALLS FOR JEEP PERTINENT TO THIS CONCERN, HOWEVER MY PARTICULAR CAR IS NOT INCLUDED. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS MY SON WAS IN MY CAR FOR ALL OCCURRENCES + I HAVE A 30 MIN COMMUTE.

I SUSPECT THAT SOMEONE IS TAKING OVER MY CAR USING THE OBD2 PORT. I WAS AT AN APPOINTMENT ON MONDAY AND AROUND 7:00 PM I HEARD MY CAR LOCKED AND I HAD MY CAR ALREADY LOCKED. WHEN I RETURNED TO THE CAR, THE CAR RADIO SCREEN WAS JUMBLED UP AND THE CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE AFTER U TURNED ON THE CAR. I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AGAIN IN ORDER TO REMOVE THE SCRAMBLED ICONS ON THE SCREEN. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE SINCE WORKING AT CATALENT IN HARMANS MD. I HAD A COUPLE OF PHONE CALLS THAT OCCURRED PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT HAPPENING WHICH WAS ABOUT 10 MINUTES PRIOR TO MY CAR LOCKING OR THE INDICATION OF IT LOCKING WHEN THE HORN WENT OFF TWICE. MY CAR WAS PARKED RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE BUILDING LOCATED IN ROSEDALE MARYLAND, 8767 PHILADELPHIA RD SUITE C, ZIP CODE 21237. THE CAR HAS BEEN FEELING WEIRD EVER SINCE WHILE DRIVING. WHEN WORKING AT CATALENT, I HAVE 3 POLICE REPORTS OF PEOPLE WHO HAD GOTTEN INTO MY CAR ON MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS EVEN BREAKING ITEMS IN MY CAR. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED UNTIL I STARTED WORKING WITH THIS JOB. I AM NO LONGER WORKING THERE NOW DUE TO HOSTILE WORKING CONDITIONS AND WAS FIRED DUE TO HAVING NEGATIVE TIME. IN WHICH THOSE TIMES REQUIRED ME TO HAVE MY VEHICLE REPAIRED AND DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENTS THAT I UTILIZED PTO TIME AND WAS APPROVED BY THE SUPERVISOR. I HAVE A LAWYER SPEAKING WITH CATALENT LAWYER AS WELL AS EEOC CASES AND A WORKER'S COMPENSATION CASE DUE TO A WORKER ALLOWING A METAL 10 FOOT LADDER FALL ON MY BACK AND I WAS TOLD TO COMPLETE A NEAR MISS REPORT. I WAS OUT FOR A MONTH AND UPON MY RETURN, I OF COURSE HAD A VEHICLE ISSUE AND TOLD MY SUPERVISOR WHEN I WOULD RETURN. I TOLD HIM THAT A I WOULD RERUN ON WEDNESDAY AND WAS FIRED ON A TUESDAY. THIS HAPPENED ON JULY 27. AND STILL, I SUSPECT THAT THEY ARE STILL FINDING WAYS TO SABOTAGE MY VEHICLE.
THE JEEP STARTED STALLING WHEN IN MOTION/ DRIVING ABOUT A MONTH AGO, IT USUALLY HAPPENED WHEN BRAKING TO STOP AND THE JEEP WILL NOT TURN BACK ON. IT TAKES ABOUT THREE TIMES TO TURN OVER AND START BACK UP. YESTERDAY WHILE DRIVING ON A BUSIER ROAD THE JEEP STARTED THROWING ERRORS STAYING SYSTEMS WERE NOT WORKING, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN WHEN I TRIED TO DRIVE IT THROUGH THE STOP LIGHT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT OR ACCELERATE. I GOT IT PULLED OVER IN A GAS STATION PARKING LOT AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN OVER THE FIRST COUPLE OF TIMES AND THEN IT FINALLY DID. NOT WHEN I TRY TO REMOTE START THE VEHICLE IT WILL NOT STAY RUNNING. EVERY TIME I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN I HAVE BEEN DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND I AM LUCKY I HAVE NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AS NOTHING WORKS NOT EVEN MY HAZARD LIGHTS. I FEEL THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE ANYMORE. WHEN THE ELECTRIC ISSUE HAPPENED YESTERDAY THERE WAS A RED FLASHING LIGHTENING BOLT ON THE DASH AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WAS ALSO FLASHING WHEN IT WAS TELLING ME CERTAIN SYSTEMS WERE NOT WOKING. I TRIED TO GET A PICTURE BUT IT DID NOT TAKE. I AM CURRENT IN CANADA AT COLLEGE AND WITH THE BORDERS BEING CLOSED I CAN NOT JUST DRIVE TO NY TO GET IT LOOKED AT. I TRIED TO CALL A JEEP DEALER HERE BUT NOW ONE WILL RETURN MY CALLS

ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED OUT OR DIED. EITHER WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS OR TURNING LEFT/RIGHT THE SAME THING HAPPENS. WITHOUT NOTICE, LIGHT INDICATORS FOR BATTERY, AUTOMATIC START, AND NOW ENGINE POPS ON WHILE THE STEERING LOCKS UP AS THE JEEP STALLS. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE ONLY FOR THEM TO SAY THERE AREN'T ANY ACTIVE RECALLS FOR MY JEEP AND THAT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS THE CAUSE FOR THE VEHICLE TO STALL WHILE DRIVING. I SERVICE MY VEHICLE REGULARLY AND KEEP UP WITH THE MAINTENANCE. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN AUGUST OF 2018 ON ONLY HAVE 34,588 MILES. THIS MAKES NO SENSE AND I FEAR THAT MY AND THE PASSENGERS IN MY JEEP LIVES ARE AT RISK FROM THE MALFUNCTIONS OF THIS JEEP ENGINE SYSTEM. THE MANUFACTURE HAS BEEN NO HELP FOR THE NUMEROUS CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. I JUST WISH THEY COULD ACTUALLY FIX IT SO I CAN HAVE SOME PIECE OF MIND!

THE AUX PORT ON THE CONSOLE WILL WORK ONE DAY AND NOT THE NEXT. WHILE DRIVING, THE CRUISE CONTROL HAS STOPPED WORKING TWICE. ALL THIS HAPPENED IN A SPAN OF TWO WEEKS.

LESS THAN A YEAR INTO THE PURCHASE OF A BRAND NEW 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE, THE AUTO START-STOP FAILED COMPLETELY DURING DAILY RIDES (BEFORE THEN, IT USED TO WORK PERFECTLY -- AT THE RED LIGHT FOR EXAMPLE). TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER WHERE I HAD BOUGHT MY CAR FROM, THEY TOLD ME THE FEATURE FUNCTIONS ON A SEPARATE BATTERY AND THAT THEY COULD DO NOTHING CRAZY BUT MANUALLY (TEMPORARILY) RECHARGE WHATEVER BATTERY THEY WERE REFERRING TO. THE SERVICE MANAGER ALSO CLUELESSLY TOLD ME TO GIVE IT A FEW HOURS AFTER EACH RIDE UNTIL THE BATTERY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE AUTO START-STOP FUNCTIONALITY RECHARGES ITSELF. ALTHOUGH I FOLLOWED THEIR INSTRUCTION, I GOT ZERO RESULT. TODAY AT THE TIME OF WRITING THIS COMPLAINT, IT IS GETTING CLOSE TO TWO YEARS AFTER MY PURCHASE AND THERE OCCURS ANOTHER ANNOYING BUG: THE MAIN BATTERY KEEPS DYING ON ME EVERY TIME I WANT TO START THE CAR. ALSO, THE FRONT DISPLAY SHOWS AN "ENGINE TEMPERATURE HOT" MESSAGE AS THE BATTERY FAILS TO START THE CAR, ALTHOUGH I DO NOT BELIEVE THE MESSAGE IS RELEVANT SINCE MY CAR HAD BEEN SITTING IN A FAIRLY COOL SPOT FOR AT LEAST 10 HOURS - NO REASON FOR ANY PARTS OF IT TO GET HOT WHILE THE ENGINE IS SHUT DOWN.

AFTER COMING TO A STOP AT AN INTERSECTION WITH A RED LIGHT I WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP AND THE AUTO ENGINE ON/OFF FEATURE ACTIVATED. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE BUT AS SOON AS I APPLIED THE ACCELERATOR THE DISPLAYS, DASH LIGHTS, AND HEADLIGHTS ALL TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE ALSO TURNED OFF. THE ELECTRONICS STAYED OFF FOR SEVERAL MORE SECONDS BEFORE COMING BACK ON BUT I COULD NOT START THE VEHICLE FOR NEARLY A MINUTE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN THE VEHICLE BACK ON I HAD PUT IT IN PARK, HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, AND HAD HELD THE PUSH TO START BUTTON IN ALL THREE POSITIONS. THE ENGINE DID NOT ATTEMPT TO TURN OVER AT ANY TIME. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 1 MINUTE, I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND CONTINUE TO MY HOME. ONCE I ARRIVED, I CYCLED THROUGH THE VEHICLE INFORMATION SCREENS. THE BATTERY READ AN OUTPUT OF 13.6 VOLTS. THE VEHICLE ACTED NORMALLY AFTERWARDS AND NO WARNING LIGHTS APPEARED AFTER OR WERE ON BEFORE.

1029 JEEP CHEROKEE LIMITED, BOUGHT IN JUNE 2020 WITH ABOUT 20000M ON IT. BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON IN MID TRAFFIC ON JULY 13, AND WOULD NOT TURN OFF. TOOK IT BACK TO DEALER/SERVICE A WEEK LATER, THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. 2 DAYS LATER, SAME THING, BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON IN THE MIDDLE OF A MAJOR THUNDERSTORM AND LOTS OF TRAFFIC. CALLED FOR ANOTHER APPOINTMENT, 7 DAYS OUT BECAUSE THE SERVICE DEPT. HAS NO TIME. WILL NOT PROVIDE RENTAL OR OTHER COMPENSATION. I AM ASKING TO RETURN THE CAR. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY SAY IT IS DUE TO LOW OIL AND THEY ADD IT AND SEND ME ON MY WAY. MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING FREQUENT STALLING AND WILL DIE ON ME WHENEVER I MAKE AN AVERAGE TURN (LEFT OR RIGHT), OR WHENEVER THE CAR IS DECREASING ACCELERATION ON A NORMAL CITY STREET. HOWEVER, I'M EXPERIENCING THIS MOSTLY WHEN MY CAR IS STILL HEATING UP, SO AROUND THE FIRST 10MINS OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE AFTER NOT TOUCHING IT FOR 5+ HOURS. WHEN MY CAR STALLS OR SHUTS OFF, IT STILL SHOWS THAT THE ENGINE IS ON THROUGH THE START ENGINE BUTTON. HOWEVER, I STILL NEED TO PUT MY CAR IN PARK, AND PRESS THE START ENGINE BUTTON AGAIN WHILE PRESSING ON THE GAS TO TURN ON MY CAR AGAIN. WHEN I DO THIS, THE CAR OCCASIONALLY WILL STRUGGLE TO TURN ON AND SOMETIMES IT WON'T START UP ON THE FIRST TRY. IN ADDITION, I EXPERIENCE MY CAR SOUNDING AN ALERT NOISE OCCASIONALLY WHENEVER I'M MAKING A NORMAL TURN (WHEN MY CAR IS FULLY HEATED UP), BUT MY CAR DOESN'T STALL OR SHUT OFF. ANOTHER ISSUE THAT MY CAR IS EXPERIENCING IS I CAN TELL THAT MY CAR IS OCCASIONALLY STRUGGLING TO SWITCH GEARS WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE DURING WHILE MY CAR IS IN AUTO MODE. FROM MY UNDERSTANDING, THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY CAR MODEL BACK IN 2018 FOR A SIMILAR ISSUE ON THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. HOWEVER, MY CAR WAS NEVER RECALLED AND IT WAS NEVER SERVICED FOR ANYTHING SIMILAR TO THE RECALL.

THE PROBLEM STARTED LAST WEEK, WHILE MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN MY JEEP SUDDENLY LOST ALL ELECTRICAL POWER INCLUDING THE POWER STEERING. AFTER I PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES IT STARTED BACK UP WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENTS. THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED ON A SNOW DAY ON MY MORNING COMMUTE TO WORK, HAD I TAKEN A BUSIER ROUTE IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE SAME THING REPEATED THE FOLLOWING DAY MINUS THE SNOWY CONDITIONS. I SCHEDULE MY CAR FOR SERVICE WHERE I BOUGHT IT AS SOON AS I WAS ABLE TO TAKE IT. WHEN I ARRIVED TO THE DEALER I SPOKE TO A SERVICE ADVISER AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAD TRANSPIRED. HE QUICKLY RECOGNIZED THE PROBLEM, AND ASKED A VERY SPECIFIC QUESTION. HE ASKED IF THE CAR DIED OUT WHILE MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN WHICH WAS THE CASE BOTH INCIDENTS. HE WENT ON TO SAY THAT IT HAPPENED TO THAT MODEL AND ENGINE IF THEY OIL GETS LOW. I WAS ASTOUNDED AS I WAS NOT DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE FOR AROUND 1,000 MILES. CLEARLY JEEP IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE WHICH SEEMS TO BE OBVIOUS DESIGN FLAW. I UNDERSTAND HOW RECALLS WORK AND I AM LEFT TO ASSUME THAT THEY HAVE DECIDED AGAINST IT AS AN OIL CHANGE CAN BE A TEMPORARY FIX AND A ENGINE REPLACEMENT WOULD BE COSTLY AND TIME CONSUMING.

WHEN I TRIED TO PULL OUT A CAR FROM GARAGE AND SHIFTED THE GEAR TO THE REAR,"THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION RESTART IN PARK WITH VEHICLE AT ZERO SPEED ' DISPLAYED AND ENGINE STOPPED AGAIN.THEN CAR WAS TOWED TO JEEP DEALER.ON OCT 31 THE DEALER CALLED ME AND SAID THE CAR IS READY TO PICK UP. AT THE DEALER, THEY EXPLAINED THE ONE CELL IN THE BATTERY WAS BAD AND REPLACED TO THE NEW BATTERY. ALTHOUGH I ASKED TO EXPLAIN WHY THE BATTERY DAMAGED SO QUICKLY AND IT THERE WAS ANY VEHICLE ELECTRIC SYSTEM. BUT THEY SAID THE THE TECHNICIAN CHECKED ALL SYSTEM AND CONFIRMED ALL OK. BUT NO EXPLANATION WAS PROVIDED WHY SO MANY WARNING S DISPLAYED ON THE DASHBOARD.

I PURCHASED A 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK ON 11/11/2019. THAT SAME EVENING THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, UCONNECT, AND LIGHTS ALL CUT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THIS CAUSED THE ENGINE CONTROL TO BE CUT AND DTC'S FOR BRAKES, ESC, TRANSMISSION, AND THE SHIFTER. THANKFULLY THE FIRST FEW TIMES THIS HAPPENED ON A STREET WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC DURING RUSH HOUR AND I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON THE SECOND DAY WHILE IN MOTION ON A SIDE ROAD AND AGAIN THE THIRD DAY EXCEPT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. AFTER THE THIRD DAY, I SCHEDULED IT FOR SERVICE AT A LOCAL JEEP DEALER. UPON HAVING MY VEHICLE FOR FIVE DAYS, THE DEALER DISCOVERED A CORRODED/FAULTY GROUND AND MADE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS PICKED UP ON 11/18/2019. IT DROVE GREAT UNTIL 11/20/2019 WHEN THE POWER ONCE AGAIN WAS CUT FROM THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, UCONNECT, AND LIGHTS. THIS ALSO RESULTED IN A LOSS OF ENGINE CONTROL WITH THE SAME ARRAY OF DTC CODES BEING DISPLAYED AND ALSO OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OFF THE ROAD AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. THANKFULLY THIS HAPPENED ROUGHLY A MILE FROM THE DEALER AND I WAS ABLE TO LIMP THE JEEP THERE. THEY CHECKED THE CODES AND ADVISED ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK IN THE MORNING. ON 11/21/2019 I RETURNED THE JEEP TO THE DEALER WHERE IT IS CURRENTLY BEING WORKED ON AGAIN. THIS VEHICLE IS AN EXTREME DANGER TO NOT ONLY MYSELF BUT TO OTHER MOTORISTS THAT COULD POTENTIALLY COLLIDE WITH ME DUE TO THE RANDOM AND UNPREDICTABLE NATURE OF THE ISSUE. I AM SO CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE THAT I WILL NOT ALLOW MY CHILDREN TO RIDE IN MY VEHICLE WITH ME.

MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR THE SECOND TIME SINCE DEC 14 FOR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. ATTACHED IS MY 10/27/19 LETTER TO CHRYSLER DESCRIBING THE PROBLEM. BASICALLY CAR CUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING (EVEN ON FREEWAY) AND HAVE TO DRIFT TO A STOP AND ATTEMPT TO RESTART CAR SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT STARTS UP.

I BOUGHT MY JEEP ON DECEMBER 12, 2018 FROM JT'S JEEP IN LEXINGTON SC. AT ROUGHLY 400 MILES, THE START/STOP SYSTEM LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND DISPLAYED A MESSAGE FOR SERVICE.I PARKED THE JEEP AND SHUT IT OFF, AND RESTARTED. WORKED FINE AFTER THAT. AT ROUGHLY 1,600 MILES, IT DID THE SAME THING AGAIN. SAME PROCEDURE. WENT AWAY. AT 7,500 MILES I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE AND THEY CHECKED AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. AT 8000 MILES I WAS MERGING ONTO THE INTERSTATE IN COLUMBIA SC AND STARTED TO ACCELERATE AND IT LOST ALL POWER; POWER STEERING, ACCELERATION, BRAKING, AND DISPLAYED A MESSAGE OF "ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAULT" I MANAGED TO GET IT OFF THE ROAD AND RESTARTED, DROVE TO GA FINE. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE LOCAL CHRYSLER DEALER HERE IN GA, THEY KEPT IT AN ENTIRE WEEK AND CLAIMED NOTHING WAS WRONG. BUT THAT THEY FIXED A RECALL THAT WOULD REMEDY THE ISSUE. IT HAS NOT. IT HAS DONE THIS AGAIN AND AGAIN, SOMETIMES COMPLETELY LOCKING DOWN, OTHER TIMES JUST ILLUMINATING THE AUTO START STOP SERVICE LIGHT. I AM TERRIFIED OF MY VEHICLE. I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW BECAUSE I NEEDED A SAFE, RELIABLE VEHICLE. IT HAS BEEN ANYTHING BUT. IT CURRENTLY HAS JUST OVER 10,000 MILES. I HAVE PHOTOGRAPHIC PROOF OF THE TIMES IT HAS WENT HAYWIRE.
Mileage: 10,018
VEHICLE WILL RANDOMLY SHUT OFF WHEN DRIVING. THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT KICK IN WHEN YOU ARE GOING STRAIGHT OR UP A HILL... BUT DON'T WORRY IT WILL KICK IN WHEN YOU ARE GOING DOWN A HILL! THE RADIO WILL DO WHATEVER IT WANTS FROM BLASTING MUSIC TO TURNING YOUR FAVORITE SONG OFF TO LISTEN TO AM RADIO, OR JUST LOCKING YOU OUT ALL TOGETHER . THE DEALERSHIP SAYS "IT IS JUST AN UPDATE" SORRY BUT THIS VEHICLE IS A DEATH TRAP!

MY TRANSMISSION BEGAN LEAKING BADLY AND HAD TO BE REPLACED ONLY DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT IT. THEN MY DASH'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILED CAUSING IT TO ONLY COME ON SOMETIMES AND NOT REACT TO TOUCHSCREEN, THEN MY START STOP SENSOR FAILED WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO REGISTER THAT IT WAS NOT IN PARK AND SOME TIMES PUTTING ITSELF INTO PARK UNTIL REGISTERING.
Mileage: 400
EVERYTIME I SLOWED DOWN MY JEEP WOULD CUT OFF. I FIGURED OUT I COULD GET IT TO RESTART IN NEUTRAL AS I'M FINDING SOMEWHERE TO COAST OFF ROAD, BUT WOULD HAVE TO PUT IN PARK TO SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE. I MADE IT TO DEALER AND THEY SAID IT VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND HOPEFULLY A RECALL WILL BE SOON BECAUSE THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE THE JEEP USING OIL AND THEN THE ENGINE STARTS SHUTTING DOWN TO PROTECT FURTHER DAMAGE. THEY FILLED WITH OIL AND IT RAN FINE.. THE DEALERS TEMPORARY SOLUTION IS TO DO A OIL CONSUMPTION TEST TO TURN INTO MOPAR. SO I HAVE TO HAVE THEM CHECK THE OIL EVERY 1000 MILES. THE FIRST 1000 IT USED VERY LITTLE AND THEY SAID GO AHEAD AND TRY ANOTHER 1000 AND COME BACK. I MADE IT TO ABOUT 500 MILES AND NOW MY JEEP WILL NOT START. THANKFULLY IT IS IN MY DRIVEWAY AND I DIDN'T BREAK DOWN ON THE STREET AGAIN. I'M GOING TO TOP OFF THE OIL AND SEE IF THAT DOES ANYTHING. I'M AFRAID OF ANOTHER PROBLEM BECAUSE IT'S NOT MAKING ANY NOISE WHEN I TRY STARTING. ALSO, FEBRUARY 2019 I DID GET THE RECALL FIXED (POWER CONTROL MODULE) FROM THE DEALER. SO WHEN I WENT BACK FOR THIS ISSUE THEY TOLD ME I'D HAVE TO PAY THEM $130 FOR THEM TO EVEN TAKE A LOOK. I WAS SURPRISED TO BE TREATED LIKE THIS WITH A BRAND NEW VEHICLE SO I WENT TO THE DEALER IN THE NEXT COUNTY AND THEY TOLD ME ABOUT THE OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM AND DIDN'T CHARGE ME! ANOTHER THING IS THE SCREEN/INSTRUMENT PANEL HAS WENT OUT A FEW TIMES. ONCE THE ORIGINAL DEALER RESET IT, BUT IT STILL GOES OUT SOMETIMES OR IT GETS STUCK ON THE DIAL/KEYPAD SCREEN. BOTTOM LINE: NOW MY 2019 JEEP IS STUCK IN MY DRIVEWAY AND THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ANY SOLUTION.

MY CAR SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD OR AT THE STOP SIGN SEVERAL TIMES. I HAD TO RESTART THE CAR IN ORDER TO START IT AND DRIVE. THE BRAKES HAVE ALSO SQUEALED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE SLOWING DOWN ON THE LOCAL STREETS AND INTERSTATE. THE BLUETOOTH TAKES 10-15 MINUTES TO ADD THE PHONE AND SOMETIMES DOES NOT CONNECT UNTIL CAR IS RESTARTED. THESE INCIDENTS STARTED TO TAKE PLACE IN MAY 2019
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND THE BATTERY WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000.

TWICE THIS WEEK MY CAR HAS SUDDENLY DIED WHILE DRIVING IT AND WOULD NOT START BACK UP, BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON. I HAVE HAD TO WAIT BEFORE TRYING TO START AGAIN AND GOT IT STARTED BY PUSHING THE GAS DOWN WHILE TURNING THE KEY. LUCKILY I HAVE BEEN ON MY DIRT DRIVEWAY BOTH TIMES. I'D BE TERRIFIED IF THIS HAPPENED ON A BUSY HIGHWAY, I'M GETTING MORE AND MORE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS VEHICLE.

THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THE 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE COMPLETELY LOST POWER AND SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. ALL WARNING DASH LIGHTS CAME ON AFTER PULLING OFF THE ROAD PUT IN PARK AND RESTART. WARNING SAYS TRAN NEED SVC. ACC/FCW LIMITED FUNCTIONALITY. FRONTEND AND REAR COLLISION DISABLED. THE SHIFTER IS LOUD AND CLUNKY WHEN PUTTING IN GEAR. ON 2/28/19 I PURCHASED A 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE. ON 4/15 I HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED DUE TO LEAK & FAILURE. ON 5/27 I HAD TO HAVE THE DASH INSTRUMENT PANEL REPLACED DUE TO FAILURE, WHICH I HAVE VIDEO RECORD OF. ON 7/10 I HAD TO HAVE THE PARK SENSOR REPLACED DUE TO FAILURE & THE VEHICLE THROWING ITSELF INTO PARK INSTRUCTING ME THAT DOOR WAS AJAR WHEN IT WASN'T. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DOING 70MPH ON THE FREEWAY. MY VIN IS NOT SHOWING IN ANY OF THE RECALLS, HOWEVER THREE RECALLS PERTAIN TO ME. SO I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO DO TO MAKE PPL AWARE OF THESE RECALLS. MY VIN NEEDS TO BE ADDED TO THE LIST. I HAVE ALL REPAIR REPORTS NEEDED TO PROVE MY VEHICLE IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE REPETITIVELY ASKED JEEP TO PLACE ME IN A SAFER MORE RELIABLE VEHICLE AND THEY REFUSE TO RETURN MY CALLS OR ASSIST ME IN ANY WAY, STATING THAT 'THIS IS WHY WE HAVE WARRANTIES' SOMEONE NEEDS TO CONTACT ME ABOUT THIS ISSUE. I NEED HELP BEFORE MY VEHICLE RESULTS IN A FATAL CRASH NO KILLS MY FAMILY AND ME. I AM NOTING THAT I CONTACTED THE NHTSA ABOUT THIS ISSUE ON 9/11 AND AM AWAITING A RESPONSE.
TWICE I HAVE DRIVEN MY CAR AND WHEN SLOWING DOWN THE BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR SHUTS OFF. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURN THE KEY TO THE OFF POSITION AND THEN TURN BACK ON AND THE CAR RUNS AGAIN. *DT *TR

THIS HAS HAPPENED ON TWO OCCASIONS ONCE ON THE HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC AND YESTERDAY 8/28/19. BOTH TIMES WHILE THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE SITTING IN TRAFFIC THE CAR WOULD STOP AND THE PARKING BRAKE WILL ENGAGE AND AFTER FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE DASH THE BRAKE WILL NOT CUT OFF. BOTH TIMES I HAD TO PUT MY CAR IN PARK IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC TO TURN IT COMPLETELY OFF AND RESTART IT. I BOUGHT THIS CAR LAST OCTOBER 12TH, THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE WITH CHRYSLER PER YOUR SITE SINCE OCTOBER 19TH OF LAST YEAR. IT STATES CHRYSLER WAS SUPPOSED TO REACH OUT TO PURCHASERS REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND NOW ALMOST A YEAR LATER I HAVE HEARD NOTHING. IT'S COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AND I RISK MY LIFE EVERYDAY I STEP FOOT IN THIS CAR.

TAKATA RECALL THIS MORNING 8/26/19 WE WERE DRIVING UP A HILL AT A LIGHT IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND THE CAR JUST STOPPED AND COMPLETELY CUT OFF WHILE STILL IN DRIVE. WE ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON, BUT THE ONLY THING WORKING WERE THE BRAKES. REALIZING IT HAD STALLED,WE ATTEMPTED REPEATEDLY FOR ABOUT 5 MINS AND WERE ABLE TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON. THE ONLY LIGHT THAT FLASHED WAS THE BATTERY LIGHT. DEALERSHIP SAID THERE IS NO RECALL AND WANTS $80 FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST. TOOK IT ELSEWHERE AND NO CODES CAME BACK. PROBLEM STILL REMAINS AN ISSUE.

"TAKATA RECALL"FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND A HALF, THE BATTERY LIGHT FLASHED ONCE OR TWICE WHILE DRIVING, AND CLOSE TO TWO WEEKS WHILE DRIVING ALL POWER WAS LOST. THE VEHICLE JUST STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, WHILE IT WAS STILL IN MOTION. THANK GOD I WAS NOT ON THE FREEWAY. IT WAS EARLY IN THE MORNING, AND THE STREET WAS NOT CROWDED. I ACTIVATED THE EMERGENCY LIGHTS, AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES THEN RESTARTED IT. I DROVE IT FOR ABOUT FIFTEEN MILES. WHILE DOING SO THE BATTERY LIGHT KEPT FLASHING INTERMITENTLY. THE PAST FIVE DAYS, EVERY TIME I TURN LEFT OR RIGHT MY "LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT" COMES ON. I KEEP UP WITH MY OIL. WHEN I START MY VEHICLE AND DRIVE ABOUT A MILE, MY START/STOP WILL STOP THE VEHICLE AND MY BATTERY LIGHT WILL TURN ON WHEN MY BATTERIES LIFE IS AT 14.2 V. THE VOLTAGE OF MY BATTERY HAS BEEN MOVING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN 13-14.2 IT WILL NOT GO ANY HIGHER OR ANY LOWER. MY CAR SHOULD NOT BE COMPLETELY SHUTTING OFF WHEN I'M DRIVING IT. AFTER MY BATTERY LIGHT POPS UP, A MESSAGE ON MY VEHICLE WILL SAY PUT YOUR VEHICLE IN PARK AND ONCE I DO I TURN MY VEHICLE OFF AND TRY TO START IT AND IT WON'T. EVERYTHING DOWN TO THE ENGINE HAS BEEN REPLACED AND STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE IDLE BEING HIGH SITTING OR MOVING, USUALLY A VERY QUITE VEHICLE IS NOW LOUD, SMELLS LIKE GAS IS LEAKING, AUTO SHUT OFF WORKS SOMETIMES, THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE HANDLE MOST TIMES WON'T UNLOCK, WHEN THERE'S NO ONE IN THE JEEP AND THE BUTTON IS PUSHED ON THE HANDLE IT SAYS TO PUSH BREAK TO START THE VEHICLE WHILE STILL TRYING TO UNLOCK THE DOORS AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE, HESITATES TO TAKE OFF AT TIMES WHILE PULLING OUT FROM A STOP SIGN OR TO PASS SOMEONE
WEN INTO ARBITRATION WITH DOCUMENTAITON OF 8 TRIPS TO DEALER TO FIND PROBLEM THEY TOLD US THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SSSEE RECALL #UA9/NHTSA 18V-739. .AFTER THE ARBITRATION CKHRYSLER REP STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNSAFE.I BELIEVE OTHER PEOPLE ARE DEALING WITH THIS SAME PROBLEM. ON 6/8/2019, I PULLED THROUGH MY GATE, LEFT THE VEHICLE IN PARK TO CLOSE THE GATE WHICH TAKES A FEW SECONDS. MY VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. RESTARTED, AC WAS OFF, AUDIO ALSO OFF. DROVE FOR ABOUT 35 MILES, MADE 2 STOPS, ALL OK. NEXT LEG OF TRIP APPROX 20 MILES, COMING INTO ANOTHER TOWN AND APPROACHING TRAFFIC LIGHT. AT THE LIGHT AS I STOPPED, THE VEHICLE AGAIN SHUT DOWN IN DRIVE AT THE STOP LIGHT IN CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC. THIS WAS NOT THE AUTO STOP/START, IT SHUT DOWN AGAIN. HAD TO PUT IN PARK, IT DID RESTART, AND AGAIN, AC OFF, AUDIO OFF. PROCEEDED TO MY NEXT STOP WHERE THE VEHICLE TRIED TO SHUT DOWN AS I PULLED INTO PARKING SPOT, I WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE PARKING. UPON RETURNING TO THE VEHICLE, IT STARTED, BUT NOW HAVE BACK UP CAMERA FAILURE WHICH HAS NOT WORKED SINCE THAT EPISODE. THIS WAS TERRIBLY DANGEROUS AS I WAS IN A LOT OF TRAFFIC AND WAS HELPLESS UNTIL I GOT IT TO RESTART.

VEHICLE RANDOMLY STALLED WHILE DRIVING. HAD OIL CHANGED BY DEALER VERY RECENTLY. UNKNOWN CAUSE. BASED ON RECALLS FOR RELATED VEHICLES, POSSIBLY CAUSED BY FAULTY TRANSMISSION OR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. OCCURRED AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN, AND THEN ACCELERATING UP TO 45 MPH ON A BUSY ROAD. SHORTLY AFTER ACCELERATING, THE TOUCHSCREEN WENT OUT, THE VEHICLE STALLED, AND THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. WAS LUCKILY ABLE TO PULL OFF ON A SMALL AREA AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO LET OTHER CARS PASS. WAS ONLY ABLE TO GET GOING AGAIN AFTER TURNING OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTING IT.

THE RADIO OPERATES ERRATICALLY AND WILL BOUNCE FROM ONE MODE TO ANOTHER. THE AUDIO WILL GO IN AND OUT AS WELL AS THE AIR AND HEAT. THE SCREEN GOES BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN RADIO, CONTROLS, NAVIGATION, CLIMATE, APPS, AND MEDIA UNCONTROLLABLY WITHOUT ANY PROMPTING FROM THE DRIVER OR PASSENGER. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION EACH TIME IT ACTED ERRATICALLY CAUSING MAJOR DISTRACTION AND DISRUPTION TO THE DRIVER. THIS HAPPENED ON CITY STREETS, HIGHWAYS, WHILE TURNING, AND WHILE PARKED WITH THE CAR ON. WHEN BROUGHT TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM AND THAT NOTHING COULD BE FIXED.

AS I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR 3 DAYS, I CAN'T SAY WHAT IT 'USED TO' DRIVE LIKE. BUT MORE THAN A FEW TIMES, I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, AND THE VEHICLE HESITATES FOR A MOMENT. SOMETIMES I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ACROSS TRAFFIC, OR CROSS A BUSY HIGHWAY. FORTUNATELY, I HAVEN'T BEEN IN ANY CLOSE CALLS YET, BUT I CAN DEFINITELY SEE HOW AN ACCIDENT COULD OCCUR, IF YOU PUSH ON THE GAS TO MAKE A TURN AND YOUR CAR ACCELERATES REALLY SLOWLY FOR THE FIRST 2 SECONDS. I WILL BE TAKING MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP ON MONDAY TO SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT.

FIRST INCIDENT TOOK PLACE YESTERDAY WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO STOP. THE CAR DIED AND I LOST POWER STEERING AND EVERYTHING WENT BLANK. I SAT FOR 10 MINUTES DUE TO NOT STARTING UP. IT SOUNDED LIKE A GRINDING NOISE WHEN I WENT TO TURN IT OVER. AFTER STARTING IT BACK I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY STATED IT WAS A RECALL AND IT WAS FIXED. WELL THIS MORNING I WENT TO SLOW DOWN AT A STOP SIGN WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE THE CAR DIED, I WAS STUCK IN 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC. I FINALLY GOT THE CAR RESTARTED AND TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY STATED THAT THEY CHANGED MY OIL AND COULD TELL THAT IN LOOKING INTO THE ISSUE THAT'S WHAT IT IS. THEY ARE GOING TO KEEP THE CAR OVER THE WEEKEND AND LET ME KNOW. HOWEVER MY FRIEND HAS THE SAME 2019 AND HER CAR HAS DONE THE SAME THING AFTER AN OIL CHANGE. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED.

STOPPED CAR BEFORE IT COULD STALL, AND HAD IT TOWED TO DEALER. AFTER TWO WEEKS I PICKED IT UP. I DON'T WANT TO DRIVE IT. 4 TIMES IN FOR THE SAME ISSUE, AND OVER 45 DAYS IN THE DEALER. AS OF MAY 5TH EXPERIENCED A SAFETY RISK WITH THIS JEEP AND IT'S 9 SPEED TRANSMISSION. ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND TRIED TO MERGE TO ANOTHER EXPRESSWAY AND VEHICLE FAILED TO DOWNSHIFT OR ACCELERATE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MERGE. THIS WAS ALSO ACCOMPANIED WITH EXCESSIVE GEAR HUNTING ALONG WITH HARD SHIFTS AND LONG/HIGH RPM SHIFTS. NOT TO MENTION IT WILL LUNGE OR TRY TO OVERPOWER THE BRAKES WHEN AT A STOP LIGHT. WILL BE GOING TO THE SHOP FOR THE 4TH TIME FOR SAME ISSUE. THE PROBLEM IS, IT IS RANDOM AND NEVER KNOW WHAT IT WILL DO NEXT. THIS VEHICLE IS A SAFETY RISK!

PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW IN NOVEMBER 2018 AND ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WITHIN THE PAST COUPLE MONTHS, INCLUDING TODAY, THE RED BRAKE LIGHT ON THE DASH HAS SPONTANEOUSLY ACTIVATED. MOST OF THE TIME IT OCCURS WHEN I COME TO A STOP LIGHT AND AUTO SHUT OFF KICKS ON, HOWEVER, THIS ISSUE IS VERY SERIOUS SINCE ITS BASICALLY STALLING MY VEHICLE WHILE IN ROUTE, AND IS VERY SCARY SINCE I DRIVE MY CHILD AROUND. I'VE ALSO TAKEN IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE ISSUE, WHICH IS EXTREMELY DISHEARTENING.

WHEN MY VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, DRIVING THROUGH CITY STREETS, AND I TRY TO APPLY THE BREAK IT ACCELERATES INSTEAD. THE RPM'S WILL REACH 4000 OR 5000 AND HOLD THERE. I WAS TOLD BY CHRYSTLER TO APPLY THE GAS QUICKLY THEN BREAK WHEN THIS HAPPENS TO STOP MY VEHICLE. THIS IS UNSAFE AND I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE IN MY OWN CAR. I ALSO HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE MAKING A KNOCKING SOUND AT TIMES, AND THE RADIO FADES IN AND OUT, WITH THAT FEATURE TURNED OFF, AS WELL AS SHUTTING COMPLETELY DOWN AND RESETTING ITSELF. PRIOR TO THE RECALL IN NOV OF 2018 THIS SAME VEHICLE FROM ONE WEEK OF PURCHASE WOULD STALL WHILE I WAS DRIVING THROUGH CITY STREETS. ALL OF THESE THINGS HAPPEN AT A SPEED OF 35 OR LESS. THE CAR WENT FROM STALLING TO AFTER RECALL UPDATE IT IS NOW ACCELERATING WHEN TRYING TO STOP. THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPLICATE AND CHRYSTLER EITHER SO THEY ARE SAYING THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN MY OWN CAR. I AM WORRIED THERE WILL BE A TIME I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STOP THE CAR BEFORE CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.

MARCH 2019 I WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN GOING ABOUT 4-6 MPH ONTO A BUSY HIGHWAY, WHEN ALL OF SUDDEN MY VEHICLE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LANE I WAS TURNING ONTO. ALL THE DASH LIGHTS TURNED ON. I PLACED THE VEHICLE QUICKLY IN PARK , RESTARTED THE VEHICLE , PLACED IT IN GEAR AND HURRIED TO GET OUT OF THE LANE OF TRAVEL. I THEN NOTICED A WARNING LIGHT , IT'S THE AUTO STOP START SYMBOL WITH A CIRCLE AROUND THE A WITH AN EXCLAMATION POINT NEAR TO THE MILEAGE AREA. THANKFULLY I TOOK A PICTURE OF THIS ERROR. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO NAPLETON AND THE SERVICE ADVISOR STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE A BATTERY ISSUE OR THE OIL IN THE VEHICLE WAS LOW. THE BEST THING ABOUT THE ERROR SIGN IS, THAT IT CLEARS AFTER YOU SHUT YOUR VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART IT. EVEN AFTER SHOWING THE PICTURE OF THE ERROR THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. STATED THE VEHICLES SYSTEM IS NOT SHOWING ANY ERROR CODES WHEN THEY PLUG IN THEIR CODE BOX. IT'S BEEN ALREADY 4 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS MY VEHICLE STALLS WHILE TURNING OR STOPPED AT A LIGHT TRYING TO MOVE FORWARD. I GUESS CHRYSLER WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THE ISSUE THEY ARE HAVING WITH THESE VEHICLE UNTIL SOMEONE LOSES THEIR LIFE AND THEY GET SUED FOR DAMAGES. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH A STALLING PROBLEMS A NEW VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 5000 MILES.

CAR RADIO/COMPUTER TURNS OFF SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING, WON'T RECONNECT TO CARPLAY (WHICH HAS NAVIGATION) UNTIL YOU STOP THE VEHICLE AND RESTART THE ENGINE, CAR DOES NOT REGISTER FOB ACTION (UNLOCK, RESTART, OPEN TAILGATE, ALARM) AND THE BATTERIES WERE GOOD AND THE CAR DIDN'T GIVE ALERT THAT NO FOB WAS DETECTED. ONCE I FINALLY GOT IN THE CAR, THE ENGINE WOULDN'T START.

THE VEHICLE'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. THE UCONNECT SCREEN FADES IN AND OUT TO TOTAL BLACKNESS. YOU CANNOT READ ANYTHING. THERE IS NO WAY TO CHANGE ANY OF THE SETTINGS. I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF, START IT AGAIN TO GET THE SCREEN TO COME ON. IT IS DANGEROUS WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING AND HAVE TO GUESS WHAT IS HAPPENING ON THE SCREEN. THE RADIO DOES NOT WORK RIGHT. I START THE CAR AND IT EITHER COMES ON FULL BLAST VOLUME, AND THEN FADES OUT TO NO SOUND, OR IT JUST HAS NO SOUND AT ALL. I FOLLOWED THE OWNER'S MANUAL TO RESET THE UCONNECT SYSTEM USING THE UCONNECT MENU RESET BUTTON. THAT DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I CANNOT TRUST THE CAR OR THE SCREEN IN THE UCONNECT SYSTEM. THE SECOND ISSUE AND IT IS A BIG ONE! THE CAR STALLS WHEN YOU STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR! I TRIED TO PASS A CAR, AND STEPPED DOWN TO ACCELERATE AND THE JEEP STALLED! I ALMOST WRECKED! WHEN YOU STEP DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR THE ENGINE FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL. I AM NOT A MECHANIC, SO I DO NOT KNOW IF ALL OF THIS IS ELECTRICAL, OR ENGINE RELATED. THIS IS AN ON GOING PROBLEM.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATORS FLASHED AS THE CONTACT DROVE HOME. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, BUT THEN SHUT OFF AND FAILED TO RESTART. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO FAIRFIELD CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (1409 MONTOUR BLVD, DANVILLE, PA 17821, (570) 275-3300). THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE ABS UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER TWO WEEKS, THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE AND IT STALLED TWO MILES LATER. ALL THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND BARELY MADE IT HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AGAIN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A LOOSE WIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WANTS TO RETURN THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13.

MY JEEP KEEPS CUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING I'M THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE ABOUT IT. IT'S UNSAFE. AND RADIO CUTS ON AND OFF, CHANGE THE STATION AND HEAT AND A/C ON ITS OWN.
RADIO GOES OUT ONLY IS OWN SAY INSERT KEY WHILE DRIVING SOMETIMES JUST SHUTS OFF IF YOU SEARCH 2019 REVIEWS THERE'S MORE COMPLAINTS THEN ANY OTHER CHRYSLER THIS IS JUST A SHAME 27000 CAR AND THE DEALERSHIP CAN'T EVEN FIX IT AND PEOPLE LIKE ME GET STUCK WITH CRAPPY CARS THINKING THEY ARE BUYING NEW CAR WITH NO WORRIES WRONG CHRYSLER.*DT *BF.. THE TAIL LIGHTS BECOME CLOUDED DUE TO CONDENSATION THAT APPEARS AFTER THE RUNNING LIGHTS HAVE WARMED UP THE INSIDE OF THE TAIL LIGHT HOUSING. THIS OCCURS IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS. CONDENSATION DOES DISSIPATE OR FADE AWAY WHEN LIGHTS AND THE CAR HAVE BEEN TURNED OFF AND STATIONARY FOR SOME TIME.

LESS THAN 30 DAYS OF PURCHASING THE CAR IT COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON, CAR ROLLED TO A STOP AND WOULD NOT CRANK BACK UP FOR A FEW MINUTES. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AT A SPEED OF 55 - 60 MPH. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAD ME BRING THE CAR BACK IN. APPARENTLY THIS IS A SAFETY FEATURE THAT HAPPENS WHEN THE OIL IS TOO LOW!!! THEY DID NOT TOP OFF THE OIL WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR. HOWEVER, THIS IS NOT A SAFE THING FOR A VEHICLE TO DO. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IN ATLANTA TRAFFIC ON THESE INTERSTATES. THIS IS BEYOND DANGEROUS AND THIS " FEATURE " WAS NOT DISCLOSED AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE!

MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE PLUS HAS HAD A ELECTRICAL PROBLEM STARTING 2 WEEKS AFTER WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE. THE RADIO SCREEN CHANGES ON ITS OWN TO ALL THE DIFFERENT FEATURES ON THE SCREEN INCLUDING TURNING THE BACKUP CAMERA ON WHILE DRIVING FORWARD, TURNING THE SEAT HEATER AND WHEEL HEATER ON AND NOT SHUTTING OFF, TURNING THE HEATER AND MAX A/C ON AND OFF, CALLING PEOPLE WHILE ON BLUETOOTH. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, STATIONARY, ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAY. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN 4 TIMES SO FAR FOR THIS ISSUE. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS TESTED THE BATTERY VOLTAGE ON 12/17/18 COULDN'T FIND A PROBLEM. PROBLEM AGAIN ON 01/14/19. PROBLEM AGAIN 01/23/19, SERVICE DEPARTMENT CHECKED IT, GAVE IT BACK TO ME AND SAID THEY WERE ORDERING A NEW RADIO. 01/28/19 RADIO REPLACED. AFTER THE RADIO WAS REPLACED THE MILEAGE WAS BLINKING AND THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE SYSTEM LIGHT COMES ON AND THEN SHUTS OFF AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE. 01/29/19 VEHICLE IS BACK AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WITH THE SAME ISSUES (01/30/19 SERVICE DEPARTMENT STILL HAS VEHICLE). I HAVE VIDEO OF THE PROBLEM BUT CAN ONLY UPLOAD PHOTOS SO I TOOK SCREENSHOTS OF THE VIDEO.

WHEN A PHONE CALL COMES IN THE RINGER VOLUME IS AT MAXIMUM VOLUME. THIS IS HEART STOPPING, MAKING ME JUMP. I AM FORCED TO QUICKLY TURN THE VOLUME DOWN WHICH, WHEN IN TRAFFIC, IS VERY DISTRACTING AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS. I HAVE READ ONLINE OF OTHERS HAVING THIS ISSUE, WITH NO RESOLUTION. EVEN THOUGH I TURN THE VOLUME DOWN, THE NEXT TIME THE VOLUME IS RIGHT BACK UP AT MAXIMUM. THERE IS NO WAY TO AVOID THIS. I ALSO HAVE THE ISSUE OF BLUETOOTH CALLING BEING USELESS. ALTHOUGH I CAN HEAR THE OTHER PARTY THEY CANNOT HEAR ME. THE SYSTEM ALSO MAKES A VERY LOUD POPPING STATIC NOISE WHENEVER I USE THE BLUETOOTH SYSTEM, EITHER AT THE BEGINNING OR END. I AM AFRAID THIS WILL DAMAGE MY VEHICLES SPEAKER OR STEREO SYSTEM. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE TO MY DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY WERE ABLE TO RECREATE THE ISSUE. WE EVEN TESTED ON ANOTHER CHEROKEE AND THE ISSUE DID NOT OCCUR FOR ME IN THIS VEHICLE. THE DEALER DID A SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT DID NOT HELP. THEN THEY WERE TOLD JEEP WAS COMING OUT WITH A SOFTWARE UPDATE THAT WOULD HELP. AFTER 3 MONTHS THEY TOLD ME THE UPDATE WAS IN, SO I DROPPED MY CAR OFF AGAIN. THE NEXT DAY I WAS TOLD THAT THE UPDATE WAS CORRUPTED AND THAT JEEP INFORMED THEM NOT TO RUN THE UPDATE OR THERE WOULD BE NEW PROBLEMS. SO MY CAR WENT TO THE DEALER AGAIN FOR NO REASON. THIS HAS BEEN A HUGE INCONVENIENCE FOR ME FOR MONTHS NOW. I ALSO HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE RADIO REBOOTING WHILE DRIVING, FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I ALSO EXPERIENCED AN ISSUE WITH THE RADIO DISPLAYING NOTHING BUT COLORED LINES AND EVENTUALLY GOING BLACK ALL TOGETHER. THIS WAS HOPEFULLY FIXED BY AN UPDATE BUT THAT STILL REMAINS TO BE SEEN. OVERALL, THIS JEEP HAS HAD ME GOING BACK AND FORTH TO THE DEALER STARTING ABOUT A MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT IT.

ON DECEMBER 29TH AT ABOUT 5PM, I WAS TRAVELING SOUTH AT 40MPH ON PLYMOUTH SORRENTO RD IN ORANGE COUNTY FL.AS I WAS DRIVING, I HEARD A DING (1 DING ALMOST AS IF MY SEAT BELT WANTS BUCKLED, BUT IT WAS) AND AT THAT TIME, MY JEEP SHUT DOWN IN TRAVEL. THE FIRST THING I NOTICED WAS THE RADIO SHUT OFF AND ALL THE GAUGES, AS I WENT TO CORRECT MY STEERING, TO GET BACK IN THE CENTER OF MY LANE, I REALIZED I HAD NO STEERING CAPABILITIES, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED. WHEN I REALIZED WHAT HAD HAPPENED, I BEGAN TO SLOW AND THE CAR CAME BACK ON. THIS ALL TOOK PLACE IN ABOUT 5 SECONDS. WHEN I GOT MY HEAD STRAIGHT AND STARTED BACK HOME, I NOTICED THAT THE RADIO, CONTROL PANEL/GAUGES AND A/C WOULD NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. I COULD NOT CHANGE CHANNEL, TURN AIR OFF, COULDN'T CHANGE VOLUME OR NOTHING. ABOUT TWENTY MINUTES LATER I ARRIVED AT MY HOUSE AND SHUT THE CAR DOWN. THE RADIO CONTINUED TO PLAY. I HAD TO START AND SHUT THE JEEP DOWN THREE TIME IN ORDER FOR THE EQUIPMENT TO SHUT DOWN. I CALLED NAPLETON JEEP OF CLERMONT TO COME TOW THE JEEP IN AND I CALLED CHRYLSER CORP TO NOTIFY THEM OF THE MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD THIS WAS AND PROBLEMS THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED. SEARCHING THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL JEEP ON THE INTERNET, IT APPEARS THIS IS A PRETTY COMMON THING,. I EXPLAINED IT TO ONE OF THE CHRYSLER CORP MANAGERS AND HE SAID IT DIDN'T MATTER HOW MANY VEHICLES THIS HAPPENED TO, THERE IS NO PROBLEM. CHRYSLER HAD THE NAPLETON DEALER DRIVE THE CAR FOR ABOUT 90 MILES OVER A WEEK PERIOD AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. AT THAT TIME I GOT A CALL FROM CHRYSLER AND NAPLETON, STATING I CAN PICK MY JEEP UP, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. THE JEEP HAD ABOUT 2000 MILES ON IT WHEN THIS HAPPENED. WE HAVE HAD THE JEEP ABOUT 40 DAYS WHEN THIS HAPPENED, AND BECAUSE CHRYSLER COULDN'T RECREATE THE ISSUES, THEY HAVE JUST WASHED THEIR HANDS OF THE PROBLEM.

I LEANED MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE BACK IN SEPTEMBER 2018. A WEEK AFTER LEASING IT I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO COME TO A STOP SIGN AND IT BEEPED AT ME AND ALL THE POWER SHUT OFF IN THE JEEP. I TRIED TO HIT THE START BUTTON NOTHING. I PUT IT IN PARK AFTER FIGHTING WITH IT TO GO INTO PARK AND TRIED THE START BUTTON AGAIN. NOTHING. SO I WAITED 2 MINUTES AND TRIED AGAIN IT TURNED BACK ON AND WAS FINE FOR THE REST OF THE DRIVE. JANUARY 24 2019 I WAS PULLING OUT OF THE PARKING GARAGE AT WORK AND AFTER 4 MINUTES OF IT BEING ON IT SHUT OFF MID DRIVING. SAME THING HAPPENED IT BEEPED AND ALL POWER SHUT OFF. I PUT IT IN PARK AND HIT THE START BUTTON. NOTHING. WAITING 2 MINUTES TRIED AGAIN TURNED ON MADE IT ALL THE WAY HOME. ALSO WHEN I TURN EITHER WAY IT BEEPS AS OF A DOOR IS OPEN. NO DOOR IS OPEN CHECK REPEATEDLY. WHEN I GO OVER A SPEED BUMP IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING IS GRINDING IN THE BACK END I HAVE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND START AGAIN AFTER THE BUMP OR THE JEEP WILL NOT MOVE. THE RADIO WILL RANDOMLY MAKE A VERY LOUD STATIC NOISE THAT IS EAR PIERCING FOR A SECOND THE IT WILL BE FINE OR IT WILL RESTART THE RADIO IT'S DIFFERENT EVERYTIME IT HAPPENS.

THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ON A SNOWY MOUNTAIN ROAD. ALL LIGHTS AND EVERYTHING COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO STOP IN THE OPPOSING LANE OF TRAFFIC AND RESTART THE VEHICLE BEFORE BEING STRUCK. THE VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CONTINUED TO FLASH INTO WARNING AND LIMP MODE SEVERAL TIMES BUT WE WERE 100'S OF MILES FROM A DEALERSHIP. WE CONTINUED WITH THE PROBLEM UNTIL WE WERE ABLE TO LIMP HOME AND BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE VEHICLE ALSO REVVED UP TO 4000 RPM WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE AND NOT TOUCHING THE ACCELERATOR. THE LOW TIRE LIGHTS KEPT ROTATING TO DIFFERENT TIRES AS I DROVE WITH NONE BEING LOW. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS A VACUUM LINE AND THEY DROVE IT FOR 10 MILES WITHOUT RESULT. THIS VEHICLE ALMOST KILLED US ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS.

THIS REPORTS DOCUMENTS A SECOND INSTANCE OF POWER FAILURE. ON FRIDAY, JAN 4 FAII WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE HWY 287. THE DASHBOARD WENT DARK AT FIRST AND THEN STARTED FLICKERING. CAR THEN STALLED WHILE DRIVING. THE GAS PEDAL NO LONGER WORKED. THE POWER STEERING FAILED. I COASTED TO THE SHOULDER. WHEN IN PARK THE DASHBOARD CAME BACK ON WITH BATTERY, ENGINE LIGHT, AND P WITH CIRCLE AND EXCLAMATION MARK. A MESSAGE CAME ON DISPLAY TO SERVICE TRANSMISSION. I HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE CAR DEALERSHIP. AT THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD THE REPAIR WORK WOULDN'T START UNTIL MONDAY. ON MONDAY AFTERNOON, I WAS TOLD THE BATTERY CONNECTION WAS POOR AND THEY ORDERED A PART. I ALSO RECEIVED A RECALL EMAIL THAT STATES THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I FEEL THIS VEHICLE IS LIFE THREATENING AT THIS POINT. MANY CHEROKEES HAVE RECEIVED 5 RECALLS AND I ONLY HAVE ONE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THE CHEROKEE LIMITED 4 X 4.

THE FIRST TIME I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR WAS A FEW DAYS AFTER I RECEIVED IT IN DEC 2018. POWER STEERING WENT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT. THE DEALERSHIP WAS CLOSED SO I DID NOT BRING IT INTO THE DEALER UNTIL TWO DAYS AGO. SINCE THE CAR STARTED UP AND SHOWED NO BATTERY ICON OR DISPLAY MESSAGE, THEY COULD NOT FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED. THEY TESTED FOR CODES BUT TO NO AVAIL. I PICKED IT UP YESTERDAY. I DECIDED TO DRIVE THE CAR TODAY AND SURE ENOUGH THE DISPLAY TURNED DARK WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THE ENGINE LIGHT, BATTERY ICON, POWER LIGHT WENT ON. IT STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY AND I COASTED TO THE DUDE OF THE ROAD. I HAD TO BE TOWED BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN IN DRIVE. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME WE HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WITH MY WIFE'S JEEP. 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE LIMITED. FIRST ISSUE WAS JUST OVER A THOUSAND MILES, SPENT ALMOST A MONTH IN THE GARAGE. GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT HIGH SPEEDS THE CAR SHUTS DOWN AND YOU LOSE ALL POWER STEERING, THE BRAKE PEDAL GETS HARD, ETC. YOU LOSE ALL LIGHTS IN THE DASH, ALL POWER GOING UP HILLS, HAVE TO STOP COMPLETELY AND RESTART IN ORDER TO GO ANYWHERE. SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS REPORTED TO JEEP MULTIPLE TIMES NOW AND THEY HAVE SAID IS FIXED. WE HAVE REQUESTED THEY SWAP OUT OUR VEHICLE WITH ANOTHER NEW JEEP AND THEY REFUSED. THIS IS A SERIOUS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WHERE THE ABILITY TO SAFELY DRIVE THE CAR ABRUPTLY STOPS WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING. POWER STEERING COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN AS DOES THE CAR TRANSMISSION MAKING IT SO YOU CAN GO NOWHERE. WE HAVE BEEN ALMOST WIPED OUT BY A SEMI TRUCK ON THE INTERSTATE, THIS IS AFTER THEIR THIRD ATTEMPT AT FIXING THE VEHICLE AND SAYING IT IS FIXED. AND SAFE. WE HAVE REQUESTED TIME AFTER TIME FOR THEM TO GIVE US A NEW JEEP AND THEY REFUSED BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO DISH OUT THE MONEY OR WHATEVER THE CASE IS. THIS VEHICLE CAN LOSE POWER STEERING AND THE TRANSMISSION CAN GO INTO NEUTRAL AT ANY TIME WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD CAUSING YOU TO BE LEFT WITH A VERY UNSAFE VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND POTENTIALLY UNABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE. IT IS A MIRACLE THAT MY WIFE WHO WAS 40 WEEKS PREGNANT AT THE TIME WAS ABLE TO PUT ALL HER MUSCLE INTO THE CAR AND STEER IT AWAY FROM GOING OVER A CLIFF THE FIRST TIME WHEN IT DIED. THE SECOND TIME WE WERE ON THE INTERSTATE ON THE WAY TO A DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENT. THIRD TIME WAS TODAY ON THE INTERSTATE AGAIN.

THE SEAT WOULD NOT MOVE FOR DRIVER 2. WE NEEDED TO GET TO AN EVENT AND ATTEMPTED TO PULL OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY WHEN WE NOTICED THE POWER STEERING WAS NOT WORKING. WE RETURNED THE CAR TO ITS SPOT ON THE DRIVEWAY. THE CAR WAS STARTED THIS MORNING WITH NO BATTERY ICON SHOWING AND NO DASHBOARD MEMO. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AND WILL GET IT TO A DEALERSHIP.

MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE WAS JUST EXITING THE INTERSTATE AND APPROACHED A LIGHT ON THE OFF RAMP. UPON STOPPING AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE MY JEEP BEGAN BEEPING AND THE "DRIVE (D)" STARTED BLINKING ON THE DASH AND GEAR. DURING THIS TIME MY VEHICLE WOULD ROLL BACKWARDS TO THE OFF RAMP UNLESS THE EMERGENCY BREAK WAS ENGAGED. I WAS NOT ABLE TO PRESS THE GAS, SHIFTING INTO OTHER GEARS DID NOT DO ANYTHING AND THE BREAKS WERE LOCKED OUT. I WAS SITTING IN THE BIKE LANE BLOCKING TRAFFIC AND HOPING TO NOT GET HIT. I WAS ABLE TO ROLL DOWNHILL ABOUT 50FT AND STEER ONTO A SIDE STREET. ONCE THERE I AGAIN TRIED TO SHIFT TO DIFFERENT GEARS AND NOTHING SEEMED TO WORK. AS MENTIONED MY BREAKS WERE LOCKED AND THE GAS PEDAL WAS OUT OF SERVICE. FINALLY, AFTER EXITING THE MAJOR INTERSECTION I TRIED TURNING THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND IT SEEMED TO CLEAR THE ERROR. MY CAR IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP FOR THIS PROBLEM. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS THOUGH. IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED SECONDS BEFORE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATHS COULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED.

FIRST WE WEREN'T ABLE TO TAKE VEHICLE HOME THE DAY WE SIGNED THE FINANCE PAPERS, 8/19/18, DUE TO BATTERY BEING DEAD. WE THEN PICKED UP CAR ON 8/20/18. KEPT VEHICLE TILL AROUND THE 23RD. THE JEEP CHEROKEE TURNED OFF IN TRAFFIC AND WENT INTO BATTERY PROTECTION MODE. WE HAD TO PUT CAR IN PARK AND RESTART. WE WERE ALMOST REAR-ENDED. I THEN CALLED DEALERSHIP TO TALK TO SALESMAN AND HE WAS BUSY SO I ASKED FOR MANAGER WHO THEN TOLD ME THAT THE SALESMAN WOULD CALL ME BACK. WHEN I TOLD SALESMAN ABOUT THE INCIDENT I WAS TOLD TO DRIVE WITH START-STOP FUNCTION OFF AND TO WAIT TILL NEXT DAY TO SEE IF IT DID IT AGAIN. THE VEHICLE DIDN'T START IN THE MORNING AND THEN TRIED SECOND TIME AND IT TURNED ON IN BATTERY PROTECTION MODE SO I TOOK IT IN TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS GIVEN A LOANER. WE THEN PICKED UP CHEROKEE ON OR AROUND 8/31/18. WE WERE TOLD THE BATTERY WAS RECHARGED. THE CHEROKEE THEN STARTED TO TURN OFF AGAIN IN TRAFFIC SO I TOOK IT BACK ON 9/5/18. I WAS GIVEN ANOTHER LOANER. I WAS THEN TOLD TO PICK UP CHEROKEE ON 9/18/18. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING AND COULDN'T RECREATE THE INCIDENT. EVER SINCE WE RECEIVED THE CHEROKEE BACK ON THE 18TH WE KEEP THE START-STOP FUNCTION OFF. NOW THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS KEEP COMING ON AND OFF AND THE GAS IS GOING AT A FASTER RATE THEN BEFORE. NOT SURE IF SENSORS ARE WORKING CORRECTLY. TOOK CAR BACK TO DEALERSHIP ON SUNDAY 10/14/18 AND WAS TOLD TO CALL SERVICE THE NEXT DAY BECAUSE THEY HAD NO LOANERS. TODAY 10/21/18 VEHICLE TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING OUT OF PARKING SPACE. CAR RESTARTED BUT DO NOT TRUST DRIVING THIS VEHICLE WITH MY FAMILY INSIDE. THERE HAS BEEN SEVERAL TIMES THE VEHICLE DIDN'T ACCELERATE WHILE STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL.

THE CAR STALLS WHILE DRIVING AT LOW AND HIGH SPEEDS. THE ENGINE WILL ATOP COMPLETELY AND THE CAR ROLLS BACK OR BEGINS TO DRIVE BACKWARDS WHEN IT'S RESTARTED. THIS IS A REAL SAFETY CONCERN AS I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT 4 TIMES NOW DUE TO THE CAR STALKING IN ATOP AND GO TRAFFIC AND ANOTHER TIME WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS. ALSO, THE CAR APPEARS TO CHUG OR HESITATE TO CHANGE GEARS. IT'S IS SLOW TO PICK UP SPEED AND AT TIMES, IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE. THE RADIO FLUCTUATES IN VOLUME LEVEL CONSTANTLY REGARDLESS OF THE PROGRAMMING AND IT'S SO BAD THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN USE IT. I'M CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF, MY CHILDREN AND OTHERS AS WELL. CHRYSLER APPEARS TO HAVE NO CONCERNS. UNLESS SOMEONE DIES, I'M AFRAID THIS ISSUE WILL NOT BE RESOLVED.
TAKATA RECALL. I WAS MERGING INTO THE TURNING LANE IN BUSY TRAFFIC. AS I WAS APPLYING BRAKES AND COMING TO A LOW SPEED THE VOLTAGE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE JEEP COMPLETELY STALLED AND LOST ALL DRIVABILITY. NO OTHER LIGHTS OR ANYTHING WAS IN THE DASH JUST THE VOLTAGE. I WAS AT A STOP WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN, WHEN I SAW AN OPENING TO TURN I ACCELERATED, TURNED THE WHEEL AND HAD JUST BARELY CLEARED THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC WHEN MY CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING AND MY ENGINE CUT ENTIRELY. I COASTED THROUGH THE REST OF THE TURN WITH NO POWER JUST BARELY AVOIDING BEING HIT. I LOOKED AT THE DASH AND SAW MY BATTERY LIGHT FLASHING AND MY INFO CENTER DISPLAYING THE MESSAGE YOU SEE WHEN YOU FIRST ENTER YOUR CAR "TO START ENGINE PUT FOOT ON BRAKE AND PRESS START BUTTON" (OR SOME VARIATION OF THIS PHRASE, I CAN'T QUOTE IT VERBATIM). IT HAD STALLED. I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON, CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY IMMEDIATELY SENT SOMEONE TO PICK IT UP. I HAVE OWNED MY BRAND NEW CAR FOR 11 DAYS AND HAVE ONLY 700 MILES ON IT. THE DEALERSHIP CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR, CANNOT RECREATE THE SITUATION AND THERE IS NO APPARENT RECALL ON MY CAR'S YEAR. THERE IS, HOWEVER; A RECALL ON THE MODEL. FCA'S ADVANCED COMMUNICATION FOR RECALL U87 ON 8/16/18 DOES LIST MY MODEL YEAR AND THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENTATION FOR NHTSA'S 18V-524 DOES AS WELL. THE ACTUAL RECALL DOES NOT. I'M CONCERNED AS THIS RECALL DOCUMENTS AN ISSUE WITH THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) THAT "MAY HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED WITH A SUSPECT VOLTAGE REGULATOR CHIP ON THE ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT BOARD. IF THE PCM FAILS, THE CUSTOMER MAY EXPERIENCE A NO-START, A START-AND-IMMEDIATE STALL CONDITION, OR AN ENGINE STALL WHILE DRIVING". THAT IS AN EXACT QUOTE FROM THE FCA COMMUNICATION ON 8/16/18 WHICH LISTS MY MODEL & YEAR. THE DEALER IS UNABLE TO ADDRESS THIS THOUGH AS THE RECALL DOES NOT. ITS CLEAR TO ME THIS IS THE ISSUE BUT THIS SMALL EXCLUSION OF MY MODEL YEAR LEAVES MY DEALERSHIP WITH THEIR HANDS TIED AND ME WITH A POTENTIALLY UNSAFE CAR.

I LEASED A 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE ON MAY 23,2018. ON FOUR OCCASIONS SINCE THAT TIME, THE CAR'S BATTERY LIGHT COMES ON AND THE CAR STALLS OUT. THE INCIDENTS HAVE HAPPENED WHILE IN MOTION WHEN SLOWING DOWN (LESS THAN 10 MILES PER HOUR) THE CAR WAS IN A JEEP DEALERSHIP FOR SEVERAL DAYS THIS MONTH, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY, SEPTEMBER 16TH. A REVIEW OF INTERNET SITES REVEALS OTHER CUSTOMERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH NO RESOLUTION FROM JEEP. I CONSIDER THIS PROBLEM TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE, AND CERTAINLY ONE THAT SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING WITH A NEW CAR.

VEHICLE BATTERY DIED WHILE DRIVING. HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES. HAPPENS AT LOW SPEEDS. POWER STEERING IS TURNED OFF AND YOU MUST TURN CAR OFF AND TURN BACK ON. VERY DANERGOUS BECAUSE YOU CAN'T TURN YOUR STEERING WHEEL WHEN IT IS DYING SO EASILY COULD BE HIT.

THE VEHICLE'S INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM STARTED TO INTENSLY MALFUNCTION WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. MULTIPLE FUNCTIONS STARTED TO MALFUNCTION SIMULTANEOUSLY INCLUDING THE RADIO, AIR CONDITIONING, AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS. THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM WOULD ALSO RANDOMLY TURN OFF AND TURN BACK ON. AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF TO SEE IF THAT WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM, THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE MULTIPLE MALFUNCTIONS. THE VEHICLE THEN STARTED TO MOVE AND THE SAME ISSUES WERE STILL OCCURING. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED ON A CITY STREET AND A HIGHWAY.

I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, WAITING TO TURN RIGHT AS I YIELDED TO OTHER TRAFFIC. I WAS SLOWLY MOVING FORWARD WHEN MY BATTERY LIGHT FLASHED AND MY CAR STALLED OUT AND STARTED ROLLING BACKWARD. I WAS IN A LOT OF TRAFFIC, SO I HAD TO PUT MY FLASHERS ON. A MAN OFFERED TO PUSH ME TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAD ALREADY TURNED OFF MY CAR, BUT DECIDED TO TRY TURNING IT BACK ON. IT RESTARTED FINE; AND STARTED DRIVING AGAIN. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IF I HAD BEEN DRIVING AT ANY HIGHER OF A SPEED. I ONLY HAVE 585 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE READ OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUES AND HAVE TAKEN THEM TO DEALERSHIPS WITH NO SOLUTION. *DT *TR

THE CAR STALLS WHILE DRIVING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE ENGINE TURNS OFF AND THERE IS NO POWER ON THE DASHBOARD. THIS WILL HAPPEN REGARDLESS OF OIL LEVELS, EVEN THOUGH THE CAR HAS ALWAYS HAD THE PROPER OIL LEVEL. IT TAKES ABOUT 5 MINUTES TO TURN ON AGAIN WHEN YOU ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET/FREEWAY WITH TRAFFIC BEHIND. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO FIND A PROBLEM, BUT IT KEEPS HAPPENING ON A DAILY BASIS.

THE AUTO START/STOP FEATURE KICKS IN AS NORMAL, HOWEVER THE CAR DOES NOT START BACK AFTER DOING SO. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME BUT HAPPENS OFTEN ENOUGH TO CAUSE ISSUES, LIKE IN TRAFFIC, AND ON SLOPS. THE BRAKES LOCK UP, AND I HAVE MORE THAN ONCE STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. ALL GEARS FLASH ON THE DISPLAY, AND I MUST CYCLE THE KEY TO FIX THE ISSUE. POSSIBLY RELATED TO THE UNDERLYING ISSUE, BUT NOT THE START/STOP FEATURE, IF THE CAR IS IN NEUTRAL FOR ANY PERIOD OF TIME, SUCH AS WHEN BEING PULLED THROUGH A CAR WASH, THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENS. WHEN I TRY TO SHIFT BACK INTO DRIVE TO PULL OUT OF THE CAR WASH, THE D FLASHES ON THE DISPLAY, NOTHING HAPPENS, NO MATTER HOW MUCH TIME I SPEND TRYING TO GET IT TO REGISTER, WHICH HONESTLY ISN'T MUCH, I HAVE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR WASH QUICKLY, NOTHING HAPPENS. I'M LEFT ONCE AGAIN HAVING TO CYCLE THE KEY AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. EVERY SINGLE TIME AFTER THE ISSUE HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN NEUTRAL, THE START STOP ISSUE OCCURS ON THE FIRST INSTANCE OF IT BEING ENGAGED. THE DEALERSHIP DOESN'T SEEM TO CARE, WOULDN'T EVEN TAKE A COPY OF MY VIDEO, AND ARE PUTTING SO MANY MILES ON MY BRAND NEW VEHICLE TO "REPLICATE" THE ISSUE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE EARLY JULY, AND JEEP NOR CHRYSLER SEEMS TO HAVE ANY ANSWERS AS THEY'VE "NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE".

JUNE 2018: -1ST: WHILE ENTERING THE FREEWAY DURING RUSH HOUR IT STALLED, CAUSING ME TO COAST TO A STOP ON THE SIDE, PUT IT IN PARK, AND RESTART IT. ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. TWO WEEKS LATER: -2ND: COASTING TO A STOP SIGN, STALLED, COASTED TO STOP, PUT IN PARK, RESTARTED. AUGUST 2018: TODAY: COASTED TO STOP SIGN, STALLED, RESTARTED. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER TWICE ALREADY SINCE I PURCHASED IN MAY, THEY CANNOT FIGURE IT OUT AND I'M NOT ALONE, PLEASE SEE THIS ARTICLE: HTTPS://WWW.CARGURUS.COM/CARS/DISCUSSION-T77882_DS917392 THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AS I'M NERVOUS IT WILL HAPPEN WHILE ON FREEWAY, ALL THREE TIMES THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS THE CHARGING ICON. DEALER HAS NO IDEA WHAT IS CAUSING THIS AND I'M PAYING $457 FOR A BRAND NEW VEHICLE THAT IS UNSAFE.

I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND NOT EVEN A WEEK LATER IT WAS THROWING EVERY SINGLE CODE POSSIBLE. TRIED TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT IT DIED 17 TIMES INCLUDING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC.. EVERY WARNING LIGHT WAS ON SAYING SERVICE SOMETHING DIFFERENT EVERYTIME. AFTER HAVING IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH EXACTLY 300 MILES ON IT THEY PRINTED A SHEET WITH 35+ CODES THAT THE CAR WAS SHOWING. ITS BEEN OVER A WEEK AND AFTER CHECKING IN THEY SAID THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW/IF IT CAN BE FIXED. AT THIS POINT EVEN IF IT CAN BE FIXED WHATS TO SAY IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN. ITS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE!!

I HAVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THIS CAR IT STARTED OUT WITH WHEN I WENT TO GO CHANGE THE RADIO ON THE TOUCH SCREEN THE SCREEN WAS SO HOT IT BURNT MY FINGER. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH JLS JEEP AND THEY SAID THERE WERE A LOT OF RADIO CODES COMING UP SO THEY WERE GOING TO REPLACE IT. AFTER THE RADIO IS REPLACED MY CAR THEN DECIDED TO WAS NOW GOING TO SHUT OFF ON ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT SPEEDS 55MPH. THE D ON THE SHIFTER STARTED FLASHING AND THEN THE SCREEN ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL STARTED FLASHING SAYING PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURN IT OFF. DURING THIS TIME I COULD NO LONGER USE THE GAS PEDAL AND HAD LITTLE CONTROL OVER THE STEERING WHEEL FOR IT WAS STIFF ALMOST AS IF THE CAR JUST LOCKED UP. SINCE I WAS ON A HIGHWAY WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS 55MPH I WAS VERY LUCKY THAT ANOTHER CAR DID NOT HIS ME SINCE THERE WAS LITERALLY NOTHING I COULD DO UNTIL THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND THEN I HAD TO PUT IT IN PARK AND TURN IT ON AND OFF AGAIN.

VEHICLE LOCKED UP AFTER STEPPING ON BRAKE AT STOP LIGHT. DASH LIGHTS STARTED BLINKING OFF AND ON.

THE RADIO WILL SUDDENLY GO OUT AND MULTI-COLORED LINES WILL APPEAR ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SCREEN. SOMETIMES THE MUSIC WILL CONTINUE TO PLAY OTHER TIMES IT WILL NOT. IT SEEMS TO BE EFFECTING THE RUNNING LIGHTS ONLY ON ONE SIDE. THE TIME FRAME WHEN IT GOES OUT AND COMES BACK ON VARIES, ANYWHERE FROM A FEW SECONDS OR UNTIL I SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON.
