My 2019 Jeep was serviced for a 4x4 system warning light on the dashboard. At the dealership they explained my vehicle is experiencing an issue with the Transfer Case, power transfer unit. After this recommendation, I took this vehicle to another reputable mechanic who found the same issue, but then advised me this vehicle has a recall for this (PTU) power transfer unit issue. Upon reviewing the vin with another dealer they state no recall has been issued for this vehicle. I was told some of these vehicles may have been built with an improperly seated input shaft snap ring in the two speed power transfer unit. Furthermore, the input shaft snap ring that is not fully seated may allow uncontrolled movement of the input shaft inward. Uncontrolled movement leads to the potential for wear to the range shift sleeve, spline damage, and/or range fork damage which can cause an unexpected loss of motive power or loss of PARK function. A loss motive power can cause this vehicle to crash without warning. A loss of park function can cause this vehicle crash without warning and/or injury to others outside the vehicle. Like stated above, the Service 4WD message appears on the dash, with noise and vibration and changing in driving quality. Please review this and assess my vehicle for this recall, that should be associated to my VIN, Thank you
Safety issue involving loss of power and braking Prior to receiving a PTU recall notice in January 2025, my vehicle began experiencing sudden and unexpected loss of power while driving, particularly when braking. Since that time, the issue has worsened significantly and now occurs more frequently. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has failed to accelerate properly after braking, creating dangerous situations in traffic. In at least one incident, there was a loss of braking power that nearly caused me to run a red light. Several of these incidents were near-accidents and occurred without warning. I have brought the vehicle to my local Jeep dealership three separate times and fully explained the loss of power and braking concerns. Each time, I was told that all issues are “directly related to the PTU recall,” that there is currently “no solution,” and that “nothing can be done.” The vehicle was returned to me without repairs despite the safety risk. The dealership has acknowledged the issue but has not provided a fix, alternative transportation, or assurance that the vehicle is safe to operate. With a longer commute and the problem occurring more often, I no longer feel safe driving the vehicle and believe an accident outside of my control is inevitable if this continues. This defect presents a serious safety hazard involving loss of acceleration and braking while driving.
Started financing this vehicle 11/8/25- driving on the interstate on 11/27/25 I started hearing thumping noises coming from my vehicle, I thought it was the road so I turned my radio and everything off and listened and it continued so I pulled over. I put the vehicle in park, walked around my vehicle to check for flat tires and to see if I possibly ran over something and there was nothing. I put it in reverse and it pulled itself back a little.. I put it back in park and checked around the vehicle again. I got back in the vehicle and put it back in drive and it wouldn't budge. I sat on the side of the road for over 6 hrs, 2 hrs away from home. My dealership didn't put in any of my information or transfer for the vehicle at the time it was suppose to be put in at signing and so I was out almost $600 in tow charges back to the dealership because my warranty hadn't went into effect. I've had 4 loaner vehicles threw this dealership which in return has caused me to lose my job because of other defects wrong with those vehicles as well. The mechanic at the dealership where I purchased the vehicle looked at it and told me that the rear differential had went out. And that the warranty company denied my claim. The dealership messaged me on 1/5/26 to come get my vehicle, that it had been fixed and was ready to go. On 1/6/26 I was proceeding to take my partner to work and as I was pulling out to leave, the vehicle started to make the same noises as before. I pulled back and parked my vehicle back. We have lost income now over this matter and possibly another job if we continue to call in or can't make it to work. I have 3 small children all under the age of [XXX] . I've called the Chrysler/jeep dealership and everyone says they can't help me. I've pointed out the recalls of the same matter on other jeep Cherokee's and how much of a safety issue this is. Vehicle is available for inspection any time. 1/6/26- the vehicle also had a warning sign pop up on the dash for the auto start. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDO
Vehicle has been having driving issues such as noises and loss of power while driving. Recall for power control module, have been told they can’t give a loaner and they don’t have parts since the recall was issued (01/16/2025) was in the shop while that recall was going on (8 months actually because they couldn’t get parts) because it caused my differentials to lock up, they replaced them but vehicle has still had problems since then and was told there was nothing to be done. Warning signals come on and off when vehicle loses power, all dashboard lights cut on and off and it makes noise when shifting gears or accelerating. I have been terrified to drive it for months because it has just been getting worse and I am currently pregnant and don’t want to put my child at risk if it were to cause a wreck because I was told it could go out at anytime.
I'm pretty sure it's the ptu . I was driving up a hilly road and my jeep had no power all of a sudden. Then the service 4wheel drive light came on in the cluster,/ dash. Then when I stopped the tires would not quit spinning. But I could tell only one at a time was rolling. But it would switch to a different tire .each time it switched it would almost catapult me of to the side or towards the middle of the road..I finally just shut the engine off . Because it seemed as though it had a mind of its own ...thank God the plow truck came up this road I was on . Because I was afraid to start it again due to the fact I did not want to go off in a trench . I had no traction when the wheels kept kicking in and out of 4 wheel drive . That to me is a big safety concern. I took it to a mechanic shop the following day and he put a scan tool on it and it came back, ptu .and he told me that this year model has a recall for the same problem .
Two speed power transfer unit failure. It's been since July 1, 2025 y car has been unable to drive. The PTU unit went out on the highway going 65 MPH and immediately lost control of having power to the gas pedal and had to pull over quickly on the highway. They still have not developed the remedy, and are withholding money from rental reimbursement.
There was a recall issued for the PTU on my vehicle that is a safety concern. I have went to the dealership where purchased and no parts or remedy available. At one point the dealership considered trading the vehicle. Then changed their mind and offered two financed vehicles for me to make payment and not wanting the vehicle. Then changed their vehicle jolts at times along with slowing and almost shutting down One experience with both of these issues. The display screen shuts off and on randomly. The vehicle was recently put in 4 wheel drive in weather conditions and shortly after use an oil leak started. The recall has yet to be satisfied with correction and safety. I’m paying constant repairs and rental expenses during these times. Yet the manufacturer is offering reimbursement for outside repairs with outside dealership service mechanics. How are they able to make repairs with parts? But, no repairs can be made by the manufacturer due to not having a remedy or parts to repair? Arbitration will not help with the situation either because it’s a manufacturer recall.
Power Transfer Unit is showing error codes as my Service 4WD has been activated for warning light. Research shows many Jeep Cherokees from 2014-2019 were recalled for same issue. My Jeep Cherokee was not and now I have the PTU issue. My vehicle is 4WD and it cannot be used, long term effects can cause problems for my vehicle.
4 wheel drive system failure and dashboard warning light has been on since late 2024! Took it to a Jeep dealer. They specified a problem with the PTU upon inspection. The part was unavailable for repair. Through the Mopar website, my Jeep has been recalled for this problem since Jan 2025. There is still no fix as of 12/3/25!!!! I phoned dealer to see if it could be repaired as per the recall... they tell me they cannot help me and to call Chrysler. Ridiculous. Please advise!! I do not want to experience further damage to my car and unexpected motor loss as the recall states... and I want my 4WD working again as it greatly helps with car control in wet situations and I often travel through mountains (snow). Thank you for your time and assistance.
Approximately two weeks before the major symptom appeared, the “Service 4WD” warning light illuminated on the dashboard. The vehicle’s performance didn’t seem to be noticeably affected, so I checked for any active recalls or service bulletins but found none that applied to my VIN. I monitored the situation closely in case it was an electrical or sensor-related issue. Shortly after, a loud clunking noise began coming from the drivetrain area, most noticeable during acceleration and deceleration. After arriving home, I immediately stopped driving the vehicle due to serious safety concerns and contacted my mechanic. A certified mechanic inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the transfer case (Power Transfer Unit) had failed and required replacement. The mechanic stated that this is a common problem in 2019 Jeep Cherokees. After researching, I found many other reports of similar failures, all traced to transfer-case defects. However, my VIN is not currently included in any recall. I believe this defect is related to known issues affecting Jeep Cherokee transfer cases and should be investigated further by NHTSA. I respectfully request that NHTSA open or expand an investigation into transfer case and PTU failures on 2019 Jeep Cherokee models to determine whether a recall and reimbursement for repairs are warranted.
I'm an elder who lives alone. My Jeep is my only regular transportation. I'm now fearful about this Jeep Recall 01C / NHTSA 25V-011 since things are happening that night mean my safety and my vehicle are greatly at risk! My SRC 4WD light came on about 10 days ago and I no longer have the ability to put my Jeep in 4WD as it says it must be serviced first. This ONLY STATED about 10 days ago. I have an appointment with a dealer this coming Wed, Dec 3. I said I was coming in for a recall and because my SRV 4WD light was coming on. I am not mechanical and didn't really understand the recall (NOW I do as I've researched ad nauseam!) I was told I'd have to pay $187 for a scan!! WHAT?!? Now that I know the story I will NOT do that! I will still go and explain my concerns but what a rip off that would have been! I am afraid now, of driving my car - and yet there is no FIX as of yet - not in MANY MONTHS - which I read is totally inappropriate with no recourse. This is just wrong for a SAFETY recall with my vehicle having 'symptoms' of this issue now being 'engaged' in some way. I did a couple of SRV 4WD easy troubleshooting steps of disconnecting neg battery cable for 50 minutes then re-attached and brought all 4 tires up to EXACT same PSI. Plus I had a simple scan done at auto parts store that shows nothing but a customer there offered to use his much better scanner and see photos to see what he found re: my PTU. What do I do? What CAN I do? I'd appreciate a quick response please. My only child, a [XXX] son, was killed in a car accident in 2016 and I really don't have anyone who can support me in this situation. I need your help PLEASE. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
This car has had the recall for quite sometime and the dealership refuses to help because there hasn’t been a fix yet with this recall. It has powered off or simply stop working in the middle of the road multiple times. Today on the most dangerous highway in Colorado Springs in the snow it turn off and all the messages relating to the recall turned on. It was the scariest moment of my life
I am writing to report a safety concern regarding my 2019 Jeep Cherokee. I recently learned that a specific part on the 2018 Jeep Cherokee was recalled due to a known defect (Oil Pump Recall (Recall T65 / NHTSA 17V-670). My 2019 Cherokee is now experiencing the exact same issue that was identified in the recall for the previous model year. Because the problem appears to be identical to the 2018 recall condition, I believe this may indicate a continuing safety defect affecting additional model years that were not included in the original recall campaign. I am requesting: 1.A formal review and investigation into whether the recalled part on the 2018 model also affects the 2019 Cherokee. 2.A FULL refund to what I paid to have this repaired. And yes a receipt can be provided. 3.Written confirmation of the steps you will take to address this matter. This issue is a safety concern, and I want to ensure it is properly documented and investigated. Please advise on how this can be resolved. While driving my 2019 Jeep Cherokee, the vehicle's start/stop system malfunctioned and caused the engine to completely shut off at a traffic light. I had my hazard lights on, and while stopped safely another driver rear ended my vehicle. The Jeep has had repeated issues with stalling and engine shut-off since I purchased it. This is a serious safety concern and could have caused greater injury. I brought my vehicle to the dealership 3 times for the same issues once back in 01/25/2023, when the vehicle was still under warranty a part was ordered and replaced, but the same issues kept recurring. When I brought the vehicle back in in 2024 I was told because my warranty had expired I would have to pay out of pocket to repair the issue.
Power Transfer Unit (PTU), The Service 4WD light keeps coming on and off. 2019 Jeep Cherokee
Last week my 4wd service light came on. I took it to get diagnosed and was advised my ptu was faulty and needed to be replaced. There are recalls out for a faulty ptu but my vin was not included.
Have had multiple issues where stop/stop fails while at a stop in the street and either doesn’t start again or starts after a while. Last time on 10/29/2025 I was at a stop just getting off I-10 and the car would not start and gave start stop error and took multiple minutes before starting again. This first began 5/2024. Dealership has replace the battery, starter relay, and the start twice. It is a huge safety concern for me being stuck in the middle of the street or at a stop
I was getting off the highway and my car stopped on me. I put my emergency lights on. I put the car on park and tried turning it on. The brake was hard to push down. I gave it a few minutes to rest and I tried 2 more times. The second time it turned on but imediately turned back off. I let it rest a minute or so and it finally turned on. I was scared for my life because there all on coming traffic coming off the interstate. I did call the police for help but as soon as I got it started I called back for them not to come. I also got a warning saying engine warming. 6:30 am 10-30-25
While im driving my car completley shuts down with no notice or anything. I have to restart the whole vehicle for it to start running again. This happened to me while i was on the high way slowing down and on the street slowing down to turn. I almost got into 2 car accidents this morning because of this. Not sure whats going on but my dashboard completely goes blank and flashes when this happened. This occured on 10/29/2025 at 6;45-6;50 am.
The 4WD service light keeps coming on and off in my 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Plus. The obd2 code c1494-92 displays. This is directly related to a Power Transfer Unit (PTU) issue. There was a recall issued in January of 2025 (recall 01C). However, I am being told that my VIN is not covered under this recall. I contacted the manufacturer (Jeep) and there were not able to give me a reason why the 01C recall does not cover my vehicle. The NHTSA referred me to the manufacturer. But I keep getting the runaround and nobody is providing me a clear answer on this issue.
My 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Plus is currently inoperable due to a failed Power Transfer Unit (PTU). The local authorized Jeep dealership confirmed that the PTU has failed and that the replacement part is no longer being manufactured or available anywhere in the U.S. This is a well known defect for this type of vehicle. The dealership informed me that there is no repair option at this time and that there is no timeline for when my vehicle may eventually be added to the recall batch list. Stellantis Customer Care has acknowledged the problem but denied my request for a buyback, citing vehicle mileage and age, even though the defect renders the car unsafe and undrivable. The PTU failure can cause a sudden and total loss of power to the wheels while driving, which poses a significant safety risk to the driver and others on the road. Before the complete failure, I noticed grinding noises, steering wheel jerking during acceleration, and the vehicle would not shift gears. The failure was confirmed by the dealer, and the vehicle remains at their facility. I am requesting that Jeep or Stellantis provide a dealer-assisted trade credit (trade assist or goodwill adjustment) to help me transition into a functional vehicle. I continue to make loan payments on a vehicle that cannot be driven or repaired through no fault of my own. This situation leaves me stranded with a financed vehicle that is unsafe, unrepairable, and unsupported by the manufacturer.
Driving from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia, then To DC, then VA, power steering service show up and caused my jeep hard to turning. Completely unexpected. I just got them 2 month ago.
I have already received the official recall notice, but I have been told by both my local mechanic and FCA representatives that there is still no remedy available. In the meantime, my vehicle is exhibiting exactly the defect described in the recall and is now unsafe to drive. Here is my experience: In early 2024, while running errands, I stopped at a red light before making a left turn. When the light turned green, the car would not move forward. I had to turn on my blinkers while other drivers were honking. I panicked, tried turning the car off and on, and eventually it moved again. This same issue has happened four other times since then. Most recently, on 8/22/25 the car left me stranded in a grocery store parking lot. It was full of groceries, making multiple alert sounds, and would not start. My cousin had to leave what he was doing to try to jump it; when that didn’t work my brother and nephew went to buy a new battery. When they returned, the car started on its own and we returned the battery. We took the vehicle to our local autozone to run tests in which it passed all. Since that day, every time I turn the car on it stalls momentarily before starting. I have also called certified Jeep dealers in my area who have stated the parts are unavailable and there is no ETA on their availability.
This Jeep suddenly started smoking while driving. Driver immediately pulled over and noticed oil all over on ground. Towed to mechanic and the transfer case has a large crack and the rear differential is bad. Repairs exceeding $4000. Also, on a regular basis the car loses power while driving. Driver has to pull over and restart car. This has not been fixed yet. Not sure what it is. Both issues are known issues for Jeep Cherokees and also this year Jeep. Yet there is no recall for this VIN number. The costs for fixing this and the dangers are unacceptable. Scared about the power loss and not sure what my mechanic will find. This car should be included in the recalls for both issues. I am super disappointed in Jeep. I filed a report with Jeep cares and will also be contacting the attorney general and a consumer attorney. These issues need to be included in the existing recalls for this VIN number. Also, mechanic had to get a refurbished transfer case because there is a backlog of new transfer cases. Clearly this is a big issue.
The PTU power train unit is bad in this jeep and has been for awhile. I seen in Jan 2025 a recall for this for some jeeps and my jeep should be on there it’s been on back order to get fixed and still nothing. Also the rear end differential has been fixed 3 times for it being broken in 4 years
Am concerned about theses vehicles even being on the roadways with no resolution to the safety recall being resolved. Reported in Jan 2025, no resolution yet. for 8 months? "Parts are not available". It appears by documentation that if you are in the states you can get a dealer to check via software to detect and monitor for excessive wear within a PTU. If PTU failure is confirmed by software, FCA US will replace the PTU for all impacted customers experiencing messaging related to the defect to replace the PTU. Warranty extension terms and unlimited years/unlimited mileage. Why can we not check the vehicle out at a Canadian Dealer to confirm what we are potentially driving down our busy highways?
Delamination of the console screen. Due to this delamination the vehicle has "ghost" called s.o.s. (911) and other people multiple times. it frequently changes radio stations (not a big deal) While driving on the highway has put the rear view camera on screen randomly. which has been a very scary distraction. It has also changed from a/c to heat (also not a big deal) The biggest safety issues are the dialing of 911 and the rear view camera turning on. This will happen even if I turn off the screen completely. I have brought this by a dealer. they say it is a common issue. I have also brought it by a private auto mechanic. They also say it is common, but that its not usually as bad. I first noticed the delamination when I purchased the vehicle at a dealer, I thought it was just the screen protector lifting. It has progressively gotten worse. There are multiple reports on this when i have googled the issue. There have been multiple times this has happened. I will put the most recent of dates, because that was the worst, and I haven't driven it since, since I'm afraid of having an accident.
The car shut off again in the middle of the road, this really needs to be addressed.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? UNKNOWN; believe it may be something with the suspension or possibly the transmission. Their is a chirping sound when making a low speed (15 MPH or so) turn more prominent when making turn up a hill. Sounds can also sometimes be replicated when letting off the accelerator and getting back on it again which is why I believe may be a transmission issue. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? UNKNOWN Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? It has not yet been reported. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? I did have the Service AWD light illuminate a while ago but it shut off when vehicle was restarted.
I have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee, on August 6th around 545AM, while on Highway 70E In Maryland, my Transfer Case completely seperated itself (Per Repair Shop). I immediately pulled over, there was lots of smoke. Roadside Assistance towed my Vehicle to repair shop. Repair Shop and Jeep Dealership have told me that the Transfer Case won't be in for approximately 2 Months, due to the Large Quantity on Order for the 2019 Jeep Recall, however my VIN was not on this Recall and clearly this is a known issue. Since this is a known issue, and so many being on Order, why is my VIN not apart of the recall and since it just completely separated causing a huge sudden safety issue, what needs to be done to add this to the Recall?
I am writing to express my deep frustration and concern regarding the unresolved recall on my Jeep vehicle, which has rendered it unsafe and undrivable. Despite my repeated efforts, I have received no meaningful support or communication from Stellantis. Here are the details: Recall Status: The vehicle is subject to an open recall (issued in January 2025), for which a remedy is still unavailable. Dealership Diagnosis: On or around July 15, 2025, I took my vehicle to a certified Jeep dealership due to warning messages and irregular driving behavior. The dealership confirmed the vehicle is exhibiting symptoms directly associated with the recall and advised me to park the vehicle immediately for safety reasons. Stellantis Communication Breakdown: I contacted Stellantis on July 15, 2025, and was informed a case manager would reach out. As of today, I have received no follow-up communication. When I attempt to call, I am either disconnected or transferred to a voicemail with no response. There is no direct way to reach the case manager, and I am forced to call repeatedly with no resolution. Impact on My Life: I have been without a vehicle since July 15. I rely on my car to get to work, transport my children, and attend medical appointments. I am still responsible for monthly car payments and insurance on a vehicle that I cannot safely operate. Given the safety risk and financial burden, I am formally requesting immediate assistance in the form of a loaner vehicle or rental coverage until a recall remedy is available and the vehicle is repaired.
The PTU needs to be replaced at 83,000 miles. A message appeared on the dashboard and a diagnostic by a dealership confirmed it is the PTU.
I was driving one day and stopped at a stop light. I go to accelerate as the light changes, the vehicle moves forward a little then stops moving. The battery stayed on but it would no longer move or rev. So I was left stranded in the middle of the stop light. Thankfully a cop came by and helped me push to a safer spot. I then had to have the vehicle towed to the nearest pepBoys. After their initial inspection they were thinking it was a transmission issue but they do not work on them there so I then had to get it towed again to my house until I could figure out what I should do. After my own investigation then later confirming with the jeep dealership, we’ve determined the symptoms are related to the defective part. I’ve called several times to the manufacturer and recall team and both can only offer an apology and that nobody knows anything right now. Thanfully the dealership on their own offered me a loaner vehicle. But the manufacturer isn’t proving much assistance. I still owe on paying this jeep so this has not only put my safety at risk but also is impacting me finally and trying to make a living. How can I pay for a vehicle that doesn’t work and nobody knows how they will fix it.. This is ridiculous and something needs to happen.
Car shuts off, once while in the middle of a turn almost went off road and couldn’t use brake or turn wheel. There were three other times it shut off at red lights and I have to put car in park and press the start button. Two of those times car had just started with oil light, was told that it is linked to the oil and to always keep it full until recall is issued. However yesterday on my way to work with full oil it shut off again. I then did my regular way to fix it and kept driving to work, out of nowhere my car starts only being able to drive up to 29 miles per hour I’m just about to get on the highway so I pull over and have to shut off again fixing the problem. This seems incredibly dangerous due to it also when having this shut off issue a notice on my car says service 4wd unavailable. We live in New England the snow can be pretty bad. This car feels unsafe, I hope you realize this model has many issues and will address them, thank you!
PTU unit having same issues as other jeeps with recalls.
My 2019 Jeep Cherokee 2.4L engine is consuming an excess amount of oil. I took it to the dealership and the only solution I was given was to replace my entire engine. I looked up recalls for this, there are none. Never received anything from JEEP like other people online have regarding excess oil consumption. I have to now get oil changes every 1,500 miles… The oil light doesn’t come on, instead, every time I go to make a turn. The car turns off while driving or stalls. Very dangerous
Component: Power Transfer Unit (PTU). Jeep has issued a recall for the same year and model as my 2019 Cherokee, but my VIN is not included in the recall. However, the power transfer unit is failing as verified by the Jeep dealership. This appears to be a manufacturing defect identical to those listed under the recall. The warning that lead me to take it to the shop said 4WD not available service required. I would like my vehicle to be added to the recall list for this issue. NHTSA campaign number: 25V011. Jeep’s own number for this recall is 01C.
The service 4WD light came on [XXX]. We discovered that there is a current PTU recall along with numerous other problems that are potential for recall. We spoke to the dealer (not able to help us) who referred us to the manufacturer. We spoke with Paul of US Customer care who told us to file this complaint. They do not recommend driving the car for safety reasons. There have been vehicles repaired but the repairs do no last. We have not been offered repair. We are on social security and can't afford a rental for reimbursement. We called all Dealers in out area. Their loaners are all taken and they all have waiting lists for loaners. We are left with no transportation. We can't afford another car - this one is paid for. Also, we were not notified of the recall within 60 days. We have been having problems with the electrical panel and AC electrical for about 2 years as well. We would like a replacement vehicle of like, kind & quality as soon as possible. There are many available. With kind regards, [XXX] & [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Ptu
There is still no remedy for current recall on my jeep. This is my only vehicle and I have a young child. How am I supposed to feel safe driving to even just the grocery store for basic needs when there is an ongoing safety recall. I'm just at a loss of what to do.
The 4WD light came in November 2024. When taken to the dealer I was told it was probably the power transfer unit as they have been replacing a lot of them. And upon inspection it was the PTU. This problem was verified as being common and a recall issued shortly after my vehicle got a new PTU. My VIN is not under the recall and I am being told there is nothing they can do. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that my vehicle has the same defect the others have and I think they need to look broader at the vehicles included in the recall. In May 2025 (just 6 months later), the rear differential went out with no warning or lights at all. There was a noise and by the time we got it to repair shop they said they don’t know how we even got it there as the rear differential exploded. This could have been a very dangerous situation. The rear differential goes hand in hand with the power transfer unit so it is very probable this happened due to the faulty PTU. Please help get JEEP to acknowledge the problem is a wider scope then initially thought so when they have a fix my vehicle can be included.
I took my Jeep in 2 months ago for an oil change and routine systems check. I was informed that the rear-end differential had excessive play and was failing. There were no prior warning signs or alarms to alert me. After only 75,000 miles, the rear-end differential is failing. I have taken in the Jeep to a Jeep dealer and they performed an inspection and confirmed the failure. the dealer stated specifically that it was due manufacturing error. Both the dealer and two different repair services confirmed that it cannot be repaired and must be replaced. The vehicle is unsafe to drive in it's current condition. However, a replacement part cannot be obtained as thousands of people are waiting on replacements.
The infotainment screen in my 2019 Jeep Cherokee intermittently shuts off while driving. This occurs unexpectedly and has happened multiple times, sometimes while using navigation or the backup camera. On several occasions, the screen has turned completely blue and remained unresponsive for several minutes. The screen controls audio, climate, and safety features, and its failure creates distractions and limits access to key vehicle functions. This issue occurs randomly and has not been resolved. I brought the vehicle to a dealership, and was told that unless there is a recall, there is little they can do beyond basic troubleshooting. I have not received any warning messages or error codes related to this issue. The problem appears to stem from either a software malfunction or a hardware issue with the Uconnect system. The component is available for inspection upon request. This screen failure impacts visibility and access to controls, creating a potential safety risk.
Several times while sitting at a red light or stop sign, the emergency brake automatically engaged and the vehicle wouldn't move. All three times, before I could put the vehicle in park and crank it back up, the traffic behind me was honking and trying to go around me - which could have caused a wreck. Just this morning, while driving to work, my vehicle died while I was going about 55mph. The dash dinged, an error message that said Vehicle Not in Park flashed on the dash screen, then all of the dash lights lit up like Christmas. Then my vehicle died - I had no power. After about 3 seconds, all of the lights went out except for the check engine and the battery light. The speedometer and the RPMs immediately dropped to 0, but the vehicle was still moving. I was on a road with no shoulder and traffic behind me and I had to pull over in someone's yard to get out of the way of the traffic. That was very scary and could have killed me if I had been on the interstate or a busier highway. When I was able to safely pull off the main road, I put it in park, and it cranked right up and the dash lights went away. I am having to put it in the shop because I am too scared to drive it anymore. This problem really needs to be addressed as it is all over the internet. There are a LOT of consumers dealing with this same issue.
The stop start system has been malfunctioning ever since shortly after I purchased the car. When I purchased the car, my father and I asked for a printout of the CARFAX history to ensure we weren't buying a '"lemon". There was no information reflecting that the 2019 Jeep Cherokee Lattitude 2.4 2WD had been serviced for anything other than routine car maintenance. The CARFAX reflected that the previous owner took care of the car, propelling us to seal the deal, otherwise we would've kept looking if there were any found issues. It wasn't until I attempted to get my car serviced at Gettel the first time it malfunctioned that I learned it had been brought to their service department numerous times before it even reached 100 miles. They refused to work on it because the warranty had JUST expired recently, not even a whole year after buying the car (of course) and handed me a piece of paper with the recalls and services regarding the stop/start system. At this point I had to just repair it myself. Fast forward to the second time it malfunctioned: I was in traffic and preparing to slow down to turn when the wheels, brakes, and steering locked up, parking brake turned on and the whole car shut off causing a small collision. The other driver understood what happened and claimed the same thing happened to his wife, therefore he hates stop/start vehicles. He made me promise to never buy another electrical car, charged it to the game and drove away. Fast forward again to currently, now the third time my car broke down: While sitting at a light, it was still running, but as I lifted my foot from the brake pedal the car shut down. There was no indication of anything wrong with the car (S.N. none of the lights on the dash have EVER lit up since I bought it). I contacted Gettel via Google review and NOW they want to do something about this death trap they sold me because I made my situation public. P.S. When I search my VIN# on this site, a completely different car pops up?
PTU is malfunctioning and cause my 4 wheel drive to no longer operate and it’s an all wheel drive vehicle. Dash light has “service 4 wheel drive” and error message states not available. There is a safety recall for a pin that could cause damage to the PTU and there is no solution from the manufacturer on this 6 yr old vehicle.
The service 4wd light went on. It was diagnosed as a faulty power transfer unit. There is a recall for my make , model and year but not my vin#.
We were notified earlier this year regarding recall number 25V-011. When we checked then, a repair was being investigated. It has been several months and the recall is still categorized as "Recall incomplete, remedy not yet available." We also tried to identify with the local dealer the possible severity of the failure but could not get a definite answer. According to the recall, the fault could cause " an unexpected loss of motive power or loss of PARK function while stationary" with no further explanation. The risk is listed as "a vehicle crash without prior warning". Would the loss of motive power be the simple failure to transfer the engine power to the wheels? Or more severe option of one or more drive shafts becoming disconnected and causing the vehicle to roll when it contacts the road? If so, the vehicle is not safe to be driven at highway speeds. The local dealer was unwilling to escalate our concerns or provide any assurance of safe operation on the highway. So far, we have not noticed any issues related to the recall but have not driven significantly outside the local community.
Issues with PTU (Power Transfer Unit) - I will attach documents
Power Transfer Unit stopped working. No 4 wheel drive now. Sometimes loss of power. I know there is a recall on this.
My 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Elite has had a recall on the PTU for some time now with no remedy in the near future. Serious safety issues are at stake. This recall may cause a crash without warning due to loss of motive power. Also, loss of park function can cause vehicle to cause injury or death as well while outside the vehicle. How can MOPAR not have to fix this in a timely manner? How it this not illegal? I still have to finish paying the money I owe on something that isn't worth more than the amount I can get for the metal I can scrap from it. Jeep knew about this in my 2014 Cherokee, unfortunately I bought another one. 12/2023 Canada was aware. It took until January 2025 for us to be formerly informed of a recall. I get warning lights and transmission seems to be in neutral at times.
The svc 4wd light stays on and the power transfer unit makes a horrible noise. It is the same symptoms as the recall of the 2017-2019s, but somehow, my car does not fall under the recall. The car only has 52521 miles on it and is treated very well. There is no reason that this should have broke.
My car have been having an issue with starting so I changed the battery and a couple of days later my car would not start. And this has been since December 26 2024. And my car haven't started since. Everytime I had to hit the brake a message would come up saying to check the electrical stability thing.
UNKNOWN I have had the vehicle act as if it wanted to shut down. Received notice of recall and the safety hazard. Have contacted dealership to inquire about remedy 30 days after the recall with very little information given at this time. I was told no parts. Along with no clue to a potential date to fix the safety issue.
The Instrument Screen on our Trialhawk went dark. We cannot see anything in terms of what is going on with the vehicle. This is for other Jeeps that a recall has been called, but it's not showing up for ours.
On a regular basis (AT LEAST 1 x daily) I will be driving my 2019 Jeep Cherokee, and when I stop at a light, stop sign, parking spot, or the start/stop component turns off the engine, the power to my vehicle completely fails. The vehicle will turn off completely. The dash panel, radio, everything will completely turn off. This has caused me to be stuck in the middle of the street, and it also has happened in the parking garage of my job, causing me to hit the wall next to a parking spot. There are no warning lights when this happens, there is no check engine light that come on after. I have taken it to a mechanic and since there is no check engine light on the dash panel, the OBD is not able to pull up any codes. Due to this issue, I have disabled the start/stop component on my Jeep to see if it helps the issue, but it does not seem to help
The car would jerk forward randomly while increasing speed. This happens at least once every few months. Also, the car would randomly cut off while at a stop light. This has happened twice. I've owned the car for 3 years and have regular maintenance.
My car has just turned off out of no where twice now once pulling up to a stop light and once pulling into the garage. Complete loss of power. I wasn’t in immediate danger except for I had to put the car in park and turn it back on at a stop light I guess I was lucky it could have been much worse.
On 12/30/2024, I received a “4WD SVC” light on the dashboard of my 2019 Jeep Cherokee (odometer reading 61,000). Upon a quick Google search, this is a very common problem with the Jeep Cherokee’s Power Transfer Unit. I took my Jeep in to be diagnosed at an independent service center (1/3/2025), where it was confirmed that my vehicle was reading a code: C14A7-97 (PTU motor component, or system operation obstructed, or blocked). It has been noted that the PTU failure can result in a loss of power to the front wheels, potentially causing reduced traction, difficulty turning, and noticeable noises like grinding or knocking, especially when turning, due to the malfunctioning gears inside the unit; in severe cases, the front wheels might completely lock up depending on the nature of the failure. My vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representative; however, a Google search indicates that there is an ongoing class action investigation (Saunder, Schelkopf - Attorneys at Law) for PTU failures in 2019-2022 Jeep Cherokee’s.
My vehicle is leaking in the front and passenger seat and my emergency brake comes on and I can't disengage it unless I stop the car and turn it off and back on. Sometimes it takes 2 times to do this. In November, twice I was merging into traffic going 45 miles per hour and it happened. I prayed I wouldn't get smashed. I turned the car off and back on and I was able to disengage the emergency brake. On 1/3/2025, it happened as I was backing out of my driveway onto traffic. I had to turn the car on and off 2 times before I could disengage the emergency brake. I was lucky no vehicles traveling on the road. There is a terrible sound and then the car bucks and you are jarred. I read about an investigation on this same issue back in July 2022. My dealer says until they can replicate the problem they can't fix it. Please help!
I was driving our 2020 Newmar Baystar #3609 motorhome and towing our 2019 Jeep Cherokee. In 2021, I had the Blue Ox tow bar, 10k rated along with the Blue Ox base plate installed at a RV dealer in Mead, WA. We have had no issues at all with this tow system during the last 4 years, we have never drove "off road", backed the unit up with our Jeep attached or abused the two system in any way. We had driven 6 hours from Pensacola, FL heading to the Mayport Naval Station. While on a secondary road approaching the base, I felt a tug on the motorhome. I checked my mirrors and saw our Jeep tracking to the passenger side and now not directly behind our motorhome. I pulled over and luckily there was no damage to our motorhome, our Jeep or any other property. I saw the passenger side base plate had failed. While examining the piece that had broken off, I noted the area where the "weld" was supposed to be didn't look right. It almost looks like the entire area that should have been welded to the base plate was spotty at best. I have reached out to Blue Ox Customer Service requesting they reimburse for a new set of base plates and the normal labor now to install them. I'm being quoted 4 hours labor which is more that the base plates. I'm glad the remaining base plate held, or our Jeep would have detached completely and even with the emergency break away attached, the likelihood of damaging persons or property would have been high. I took photos of the failed base plate and will keep both parts in the event they need to be examined by a competent person.
The car has been running out of coolant the past couple of months with no known visual leaking problems. I brought it to the mechanic who stated the radiator had to be replaced. No warning prior. No leaking or lights coming on. Another issue the uconnect subsystem powers on and off whenever it wants. Switches from GPS. Radio, heating and a/c. Causing distraction to the driver. I have not been able to know why it is happening. Went from several times a month to now daily.
While the car was in motion, the car slowed almost to a complete stop & the check engine light came on, along with the alert “Service Electronic Stability Control”. When pressing on the gas, almost no power was present. Vehicle barely moves. This has happened several times in the last 4 weeks. The first time on 11/12/2024, the most recent time 12/4/2024.The throttle was replaced, but the incident repeated. The vehicle also occasionally rolls when it is put in park.
While idling in my child's school drop off line, I was in park with car running, I stepped on the brake to put the car into gear to move forward and the car stalled and wouldn't start back up until about 1-2 minutes later. No lights were lit up once I restarted the car. This happened one other time and we thought it was the battery, but not we are rethinking it wasn't the battery.
I've been advised that the cover over the rear differential is cracked and that the entire differential needs to be replaced. It seems illogical that the cover protecting a rear differential on a Jeep vehicle would be of a material that would crack when the vehicle has not been driven under extreme conditions. Both drivers have been and are currently [XXX] and have not had any citations. My residence is on a dirt road and some of my travel is on dirt roads however the appropriate care is taken. The vehicle is a 2019 with approximately 32,000 miles which indicates that the yearly mileage is low. I would appreciate consideration that the material used for the cover is faulty and that I should not be subject to the expense of replacing it and the rear differential. Fortunately it is not providing problems at this time and I have contacted the dealer to get it repaired/replaced. BUT I truly feel that this is faulty equipment on a JEEP. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
I could not get out of the driver's side of the car. I was the driver and tried to leave the vehicle, it would not let me. Something wrong with the door handle. Window does work on driver's side; but not the handle to open car door to exit. If I or anyone else in my situation was in an accident, I would not be able to get out on my own without emergency personnel help. Only day to take it to original dealership is next Tues. [XXX]. [XXX]and had to climb over the middle console to exit front passenger door. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My family and I drove from San Antonio, TX to El Paso, TX on [XXX]. In the car were 4 passengers, including a 11 month old child. At the start of the drive, a warning message that read "4WD overheated. Temporarily unavailable" was seen. The alert showed 1 time and upon a quick search online, was seemingly insignificant. It never showed up again during the drive. We did leave around 4pm so the sun was out and hot, we believed it to be a temporary warning that would not affect our drive as we did not need 4WD during the drive. The jeep did not have a lot of miles on it and was only serviced at the dealership at appropriate windows as recommended by professionals. Once we reached El Paso, a strong smell occurred. Followed shortly by fire and flames coming from the front area, under the hood, near the engine. We pulled off to the side of the road while the flames grew bigger. The infant and all 4 adults were able to exit the vehicle timely but the fire was very large. Many onlookers stopped to check on our welfare. There was an investigation done but all that was said was that there was in fact a fire, and it did in fact start near the front of the vehicle by the engine. Chrysler said they could not determine anything further as there was damage from the fire. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
On [XXX] I went to a dealership Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep in Tucson Arizona to fix a recall for my vehicle. They denied to fix my vehicle claiming that it was not register under my name, which is not true. I can provide a copy of my vehicle registration if needed. The screen on my vehicle began delaminating at a significant rate. As the screen continues to delaminate, the u-connect screen registers the touches as inputs. E.g. it will turn off my lights while i'm driving, switch to the back-up camera as i'm driving forward. This system controls steering, braking, and other important safety features
The old battery died and auto zone installed a new one. The AAA tech that jumped me told me that the computer would be weird?? A safety hazard is when I put in reverse the back camera doesn’t go on?? So if I don’t look or don’t hear anything then there could be an accident?? Also the tire pressure on the console doesn’t work?? If I had a flat while driving it would not tell me how low my psi is on the tire?? I could have an accident?? Also the acceleration I think is slower due to the computer error that tells me to service shifter?? I just had a new battery installed and should not have these issues due to jeep having programming issues after a new battery is installed?? I never had this problem on any car I had after a battery installation???
while driving the car at 40 mph it just quit running! engine completely out causing driver to swerve. Vehicle behind had to swerve around to avoid collision. There was no accident and nobody was injured but a close call! Two different shops (one being the certified Jeep/Chrysler mechanic) confirmed total engine faulure! The first shop told me that the turbo fatally failed and sent metal shrapnel through the air intake ports and scored and scratched the inside of the cylinder walls. Then oil passed through the motor and through the entire exhaust system ruining the catalytic converter and all sensors in the motor and exhaust system. There were no warning lamps or warnings of any kind. The car is less than 5 years old and has approx 76,000 miles. Cost to repair: $17,260
the vehicle has a stop and go feature to save gag. at least 5 times when it cuts the engine off and yo go to accelerate the emergency brake is on. The dealer can't find the problem as the is no code generated
When the fuel saving auto off feature is engaged, this vehicle has stalled, locked, and/or shut down completely in traffic several times. I have almost been hit several times and this is very frightening. I took the car to the dealership several times and they said nothing was wrong. I disengage that auto off feature every single time and have every since I realized that the auto off was the causing factor. This usually happened during braking or resuming from slowing down. I read today that this was a factor in 2022 Hemi models and it is the same type of thing that I experienced with this 2019 non-Hemi. I realize that the car is old and this is something that began happening back when the car was about a year old. I am glad to know that it's not just me but please understand that it's related to older cars as well.
At random times the radio will start changing stations on its own and it will also dial phone numbers. Most recently it dialed 911 while grandkids were in the car. It will also turn the heat or AC on and off, changes temperature settings, sometimes it turns on the backup camera. everything that is on the Uconnect control panel is affected. The only way to get it to stop is to shut the Uconnect radio system off. This is a safety distraction when it starts these problems. From the research I have done other vehicles with this same radio Uconnect system have safety recalls issued, it needs to be extended to all vehicles with this system.
The 8.4 UConnect radio screen in my vehicle is delaminating. This is causing the radio to have phantom touches where the radio will cycle through different screens, make phone calls on its own, change the HVAC, among other issues, while the car is operating. I did have the vehicle looked at by a dealership, who immediately saw the screen and told me with this model of U connect screen the delamination is a known issue. The manufacturer has not looked at the vehicle, but does acknowledge this issue and accepts that this is an issue across multiple vehicle lines they own.
1. Component/system failed: PTU 2. My vehicle completely shut off and became disabled while driving - this put my safety and the safety of others at risk. 3. The problem was confirmed at the dealership. 4. The vehicle has been inspected by certified mechanics at the dealership. 5. There were no prior warning lights or signs/symptoms of the problem before failure.
The uConnect Panel system malfunctioned and was attempting to contact emergency services while I was driving, in addition to opening other apps on the system and rotating to the back camera while driving at high speeds on a highway. This is a common issue that I am reading about and is not safe and Jeep needs to fix this issue. Had there been more cars on the road, I could have easily been in an accident because it was alarming and I wasn't sure what was happening to my car. I drove straight to a service station and had them come see what was happening before turning it off so I could try and figure out a solution. I am also happy my children were not in the car. I have contacted the dealer but they have not returned my call and I do not think this cost should be put on the consumer when this is not a regular maintenance issue and is so common of a concern among consumers. It also appears that there have been other complaints in previous years, yet no one is considering the panic it causes drivers and the potential of major accidents.
Delamination of the main screen that houses the control panel for the vehicle. After much research, this is a common failure on the Chrysler vehicles. This delamination is caused the radio to rapidly switch through all the buttons which is extremely distracting. With it turned off, all features are visibly unavailable. This should be a recall. As a car manufacturer, having settings that affect the way the vehicle physically brakes and steers that are configured via the Uconnect system, and that system has a defect that can cause those settings to change without the knowledge of the user, that’s a safety issue.
Driving at night with headlights on: got warning “license plate light out.” Needed to reverse shortly after and the car immediately applied the brakes because it said the backup camera was unusable without the license plate light. Shut the car off for a while and when I tried to start it again, it three the following codes in sequence. Park Sense Unavailable Service Electronic Stability Control Service Electronic Throttle Control License Plate Light Out Service Park Brake Then the start screen appears. Brake + Push Button to Start Doing that brings up “Service Transmission Restart in Park With Vehicle at Zero Speed. So again I pressed the brake and start Button. It then started, repeated all previous error codes leaving warning icons active for all related systems and rendered them all inop. The last screen says “Service Transmission.” From there all ability to check the status of any other system on the vehicle is inhibited. The transmission slams into gear. And then works in the first two gears normally. Also notable is that 4x4 is inhibited and the AC will not work. Prior to the License Plate Light Out warning, everything worked normally. Now every system on the car has gone haywire. And I am pretty sure the Jeep folks will gladly overbill me for their defective design. I think some logic module or whatever name Jeep uses for it is somehow the culprit, and the car is doing exactly what it was programmed to do under the current conditions.
Car keep having warning messege unable to start was told by different they are aware of this problem and car keep stalling out
Car stalling while driving or turning happens when I come off the freeway has only happened twice but my engine stalls both times and it takes about 30 seconds to a minute for me to regain power to continue driving
Currently the seats sound like they arnt bolted down correctly. Also recently the key fob is failing to unlock the vehicle and its taking multiple trys of pulling the fob out of the ignition and putting it back into the ignition trying it on different sides buying multiple batteries. Also the the vehicle has always gotten stuck in gear, hard shifting.
SUV parking/emergency brake automatically activates without driver doing this. This is what happened: stopped at red light foot on brake. The SUV has the feature to shut the engine off when stopped. Light turns green foot then goes to the gas. When the foot is lifted off the brake, the engine tries to restart and hesitates and at the same time the parking/emergency brake activates without this being activated by driver Unable to move forward more than a few feet and car stalls. Car has to be put in park. Engine completely needs to be turned off by driver. And the emergency/ parking brake shut off. This creates a significant safety risk for the potential of the car(s) behind the SUV accelerating into the back of SUV assuming that the SUV will be moving forward. I have encountered others with a Jeep Cherokee/ Compass with the same issue and cannot understand why there has not been a recall for this. The dealership attributes this to needing a new battery- they replaced this already. No one should have to drive like this. This has been ongoing for a while prior to the miles noted in this report. The symbol with an A and a circle with an arrow at the end of the circle and an ! Appear on the dashboard in orange.
Verified internal PTU failure Confirmed by Dick Hannah Dealership 3517 NE Auto Mall Dr. Vancouver WA. First appeared two months ago, car jerks
IT WILL CUT OFF WHEN I TURN AND THEN MY THEN BATTERY IMAGE POPUP HAD BATTERY CHECK ITS GOOD ALTERNATOR GOOD STATER GOOD CUTS OFF AND HESTATATE TO START BACK UP BUT IT DO IT DRIVE FOR A GOOD WHILE THEN WEEKS LATER IT WOULD START DOING IT AGAIN
Had just stopped for gas while taking a friend home. All of a sudden the vehicle power shut off while driving down the road and could not get it to turn back on. No warning, nothing seemed out of the ordinary and it's never happened before. I checked my VIN to see if it could be part of the UA9 recall because that sounds like what happened, but my vehicle is not part of that recall???
While driving approximately 20mph in an extremely busy intersection my car jolted and stopped almost causing us to get hit from oncoming traffic coming from multiple directions. The start / stop system failed and the error message was “service start / stop system”. I had my daughter in the car when this very scary experience happened. After researching it seems like thousands of people have had the same issues all resulting in the “auxiliary battery “ needing to be changed . This has been reported as a faulty part on newer models. This battery controls the main functions of the car , including the start / stop system .
The radio has started switching channels will not stay on one set station. Along with radio switching the touch screen also changes from maps to calling 911 and making sos calls, the back up camera will turn on while driving down roadway. The screen is constantly blinking and changing causes major distraction especially at night when it catches your eye. It is a major distraction while driving.
I have a 2019 jeep cherokee 4wd with 46077 miles. This has never happened before until now. It was dark out heading to work. I came to a stop when I went to go the jeep just literally shut down. Everything turned off- I had no lights, no engine, no warning at all. Would not start at all. I called my husband and when I opened the driver door the jeeps dash finally came on and I tried to start it, wouldn't at first than tried again it started. I turned around and drove back home. Contacted the garage. This is unsafe for anyone to put their life on the line. I was lucky I didn't get hit. I have 5 grandkids and this is not a safe vehicle to drive when there is no warning at all. Luckily It didn't do this on the railroad tracks. The garage told me to take back to the dealership. The dealership said there are no recalls on my vehicle. However, I see other jeep cherokee with the same issues and have recalls. Why risk my life or anyone else. All jeep cherokees of any year or engine size should be taken seriously.
My "Service 4 Wheel Drive" light went off in my 2019 Jeep Cherokee (Limited) and my local Jeep Dealership informed me that the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) had failed. Moreover, a complete failure of the PTU while driving would be very dangerous so I was lucky for this not to happen. I drive in Philadelphia and rarely have need of the 4WD feature so the part failure is mostly likely due to poor design or manufacturing. The repair cost me over $2600 (the invoice they emailed me before payment is attached). I learned that several previous models of Jeep Cherokees have been recalled due to PTU failures. It is irresponsible on the part of the manufacturer to continue to produce parts that fail on new models especially when failure is so dangerous.
Car leaks water especially when parking and braking. Coolant always go low. No help from the dealership. This started with very low mileage. I have on it now 68k and it is low again.
While driving on the freeway, the check engine light and came on and the car shut off. Luckily, traffic was light and I attempted to restart the car. It made a loud, whirring noise and stuttered but turned on. The check engine light remained on. I continued on my way home, staying in the right lane. After about 15 minutes the car shut off again. I was able to get it mostly to the shoulder. I attempted to restart it again but it did not restart this time. A police car pushed me off the fwy and I had the car towed home. The dealer was able to check my car a week later. After 2 days, they were not sure of the issue and advised I pick it up and drive it some more. The following day, it shut off while driving again.
2019 Jeep Cherokee PTU failed.
Driving on the highway fortunately about 20 MPH and the jeep Cherokee limited died while moving. Could not restart it and had to get towed off the highway . Jeep dealer said it was because of a dead battery that could not hold a charge. Never in 4 years had a problem . Not sure why a dead battery would cause the jeep to shut down completely while moving. Battery replaced and now the radio is dead according to the dealer . Have not picked the jeep up yet
Questions answered in order: Major component glitch, messages for most components appeared on screen, Air bag, Transmission, zero speed, annunciator alarming, will try to duplicate and take pictures. Car stalled in road as driving. In process No indication prior to failure, all at once.
I was driving down I-55 S in Marion, Arkansas on 21 September 2023 at 620 in the morning headed towards Memphis when I heard a crack and glasses shattering above my head. I knew my sun roof had to have been broken. I pulled over and opened the automatic shade and my entire sunroof had been shattered. The inside of my car was completely covered in glass. There was no object that I saw that could have done this, it was roughly 65F outside, at 620am, with clear skies. I had to drive back to my boyfriends house in Marion to leave the car in his driveway and call my insurance company to file a claim and reserve a rent a car. There is still glass shards sticking out of the sunroof, which I cannot remove without injuring myself or furthering damaging the roof. The car is currently available for inspection and hasn’t not been inspected. There was no warning signs. I had opened my sunroof just last week and had no issues, there wasn’t any cracks or damages. I was driving roughly 70 mph and had several cars around me including a semi trailer, had I not had my shade closed I would have been covered with glass and may of gotten glass in my eyes which would have impacted my ability to see and may have caused an accident.
This is my second complaint regarding a Jeep and this time about a 2019 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 Limited, I turned in a complaint re: 2019 Jeep Compass as they both have the same problem. The stop/start system has drained the secondary battery, in turn draining the car battery, in turning almost killing the alternator, The failure left me in the middle of a busy intersection with no possible way to restart the car. It could easily have gotten me killed. There was no warning , no light, no nothing. There is an extreme failure in this system and I want to know why the mechanics for Jeep do not tell you that the secondary battery is a problem and will be again as it isn't changed out when the car battery is replaced. (the demise of which is a result of the failure of the secondary) t is a n unnecessary and a lousy one,
I received a warning light on my dash board SVC 4WD. I took my car to the dealership and was told I need my PTU replaced and the cost was estimated at $2,255.67. I did some reach and found a recall for this same issue in earlier vehicle year models. I am frustrated by the fact that my Jeep is obviously having the same issue and could potentially put my safety at risk yet my vehicle year is not recalled. I am forced to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket because my vehicle model isn’t recalled. I need action taken to have my vehicle recalled so that my Jeep can be repaired.
Radio functions are not working which includes GPS, general radio functions such as stations and volume, Bluetooth functions that interfere with basic safety and communications. Almost all functions of this car flow through the radio.
Has similar defect as Jeep Grand Cherokee recall X81. Jeep refuses to admit the issue and is trying to charge customer $3500 to fix the issue. Leather is separating from dash.
2019 jeep Cherokee- check engine light came on at 62,000 miles - reading said it was a 'cylinder 1 misfire' - long story short, I need a whole new engine. Coolant is leaking into the cylinder and throughout the engine with scoring, etc.
November of 2022 my husband and I were traveling to visit his sister and tried to use the navigation system. It would not work, kept flipping back to the radio. When we tried to plug in our iphone and use car play to use Google Maps, the screen really went crazy, going back and forth between iheart radio and saved channels there and the maps and radio - making the navigation system and screen worthless.
On 6/13/23, i stopped to call my husband and suddenly the UConnect went crazy - calling my husband, hanging up and calling again, hanging up, calling again. I tried to turn the unit off - would not turn off. I drove to my local Jeep dealership and had Michael in service come out and look at my car/unit and the way it was going crazy. I tried to turn it off in from of him and it would not turn off. I touched the screen to see what would happen when I touched CLIMATE and it was going crazy also, my a/c was going on and off, the fan speed was going from high to low, and back again. I hit the button for navigation and it was bouncing all over the place. Having the screen constantly jumping from one to another, and constantly calling and hanging up with my husband is a safety hazard and I personally think that a recall should be done on the UConnect system in Jeeps.
I was driving to work and was stopped at a red light on a very busy road. The emergency brake engaged and then my car shut off. I sat around 10 minutes before it would restart. My brakes locked up and it wouldn’t let me do anything. I couldn’t even use my four ways. I was very scared that I was going to get hit because it just shut down on a very busy road. The throttle control warning light also came on and shut off after about 10 minutes. After work, I went to start my car and my battery was dead. I had to jumpstart myself to get myself home. My car doesn’t drive the same and seems like it is lagging. The problem has not been reproduced by the dealer. So far the dealership is the only people to look at the car and still cannot figure out what is wrong. This is the first time that my car has shut down while driving it but the dead battery has been an issue for a few months now and the dealership can’t figure that out.
As I was turning at an intersection, my battery light quickly flashed and the car stalled. This has happened 3 times in the past week. This is an obvious safety risk as the car would not move until I restarted it. I have read multiple issues of this occurring recently to other models of Jeep Cherokees
When I stop at a red light the engine goes silent, like it should, but three time in the past few weeks the car has completely died and not restarted as it was supposed to.
The Jeep stalled when I went from a stop to starting after stopping for traffic, three times in the last week. It wouldn’t restart for 10mins. The last time it happened
I took my car to the dealership for a recall on 05/01/2023, On May 2nd, I noticed the vehicle would randomly stall, and the battery light will come on, It did on a major freeway, I have the car towed to a local shop and after an extensive diagnostic, they told me, it was something with the TCM re-programmed or software issues, Now I'm afraid to drive because due to the defect, On Tuesday I schedule a service appointment to have them look into, I can still drive the car, however The stall still occur ramdomly
The car will start, drive for a minute or two and then the battery warning light flashes and the car completely stalls out and dies. This has now happened 3 times. Back in I believe January it happened and I replaced the battery, but then was told that the battery I replaced was actually still good (it had only been a year old). It then happened yesterday and then again today. I have taken it into the dealership and it is apparently still related to the oil consumption being way higher then it should be (which I was under the impression was fixed 2 years ago when I took the car in for it stalling out). This car is incredibly unsafe. It is unacceptable that it just turns off in the middle of the road when I am transporting my children. Ridiculous to be stuck with a car that has ongoing issues of this nature. The car is still a thousand miles from being due for a regular oil change and the dealership said it was completely out of oil when they looked today.
In the past 6 months I have had issues with my oil becoming completely empty in between oil changes. I get my oil changed regularly by the same company in our small town. One day I pulled up because my oil light had come on and I had almost 2000 miles until the next oil change. On the next oil change it did it and they came back and said that it was completely dry again. I had been stopping by them and having them checking the level once a week. Each time the oil level was down a little more each time. Then after a short trip out of town over the weekend I took it in that Monday and again it was dry. I have reported it to the dealership and never got a call back regarding it. I check online and noticed that there are a lot of complaints about the same issues. This seems to be an issue that Jeep is failing to recognize.
Failure Date: 03/06/2023 and before this date. The stereo was replaced and it had two recalls and my car vin was one recalled the recall was fixed but it’s been two years so the warranty out but same issue that was never fixed. I purchased my Jeep in 10/2018 and I have reported numerous times that my car stalls while driving on freeway or street I was told it was because it’s low on oil But all my warning lights come on and then the emergency brake comes on the the jeep stops and car won’t start. I took it to the local dealership in March and the technician did not find anything wrong. They replaced battery and the same day I got it back the car died. The problem still persists they had my car for two weeks, I got the car back on April 11, 2023 and April 12,2023 stalled again and lights come on and off. My lights or windshield wipers turns off and on by itself while parked, the techs say they can’t find anything wrong. Most recently since my vehicle has been stalling out while driving and the sterring wheel is locking up and the battery light comes on. This issue is now becoming very consistent and happening every day. The vehicle has stalled out on me in the past week numerous times in traffic. My engine light is on, auto start and stop system is unavailable and electronic stability control system is offline. I have report the development to my local dealership and they cannot correct the problem. This is a major problem and based on the research that I have done, alot of the Jeep Cherokees have this issue. This jeep is VERY UNSAFE AND IM AFRAID I WILL GET HIT IN THE BACK. Please explain to me how a jeep dealership can’t fix my car? My car is a lemon that I paid 26,000 dollars for
Alternator went out, car doesn’t start at times, electrical issues as well as battery draining.
MY JEEP HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 5 TIMES IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS. THE ENGINE STALLS OUT AND THE ENGINE MAKES A KNOCKING SOUND. THIS MORNING, 12/20/22, I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND WENT TO SLOW DOWN FOR A RED LIGHT AND THE EMERGENCY BREAK ENGAGED AND THE JEEP STALLED OUT. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED AND COULD HAVE BEEN INJURED. NOW THE JEEP IS DINGING AND THE INDICATOR LIGHT IS FLASHING SAYING" SERVICE PARK BREAK". . THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT MY CAR FROM REFUSES TO ASSIST ME ANYMORE AND I AM AT A LOSS.
This vehicle equipped with turbocharge. On 3 different occasions vehicle stalled instead of accelerating while pulling out into traffic from a stopped position. Message appeared saying "Service electronic throttle". Also, ESS symbol came on in red where warning symbols appear at the same time.Later, that went off and electrical symbol came on, looks like lightning bolt. Engine did restart itself after about 20 seconds, with vehicle shuddering rather violently. This could have caused a serious accident.
My car shut off in the middle of transit. After multiple attempts to restart the car, and “jump the battery” with car cables, it was unsuccessful in starting the car. The car was towed to a dealership, and it was determined that a battery was needed. After picking up the car and driving off the lot, I noticed that 1) a dashboard indicator light (“service shifter”) was on—and would not go off, 2) I have lost access to my back up camera, 3) All of my gear shift lights are on, and will not go off. My car is unsafe to drive because: (A) I do not have visibility of my digital speedometer, making it difficult to concentrate on driving and taking the time to attempt/be accurate with the analog needles hinders concentration and focus on driving within the speed limits. (B) My back up camera is disabled, making it near impossible to determine proper parking distances from other vehicles, and oncoming traffic, and individuals. (C) It is impossible to know what gear I am in because all of the lights on the gear shift are on. This poses a serious danger while attempting to properly navigate the vehicle in any direction.
When stop/start feature is active and I have come to a stop typically engine turns off and back on within a few seconds. Lately if I do not take foot off break in time it will stall. After stall I am able to restart car.
6/15/2020 24793 miles, while driving battery light came on jeep stalled. Started back up and while accelerating battery light came again and stalled. Took to Jeep dealership, they said batter had low charge. 6/3/21 31567 miles start/stop light came on . Tech found nothing 8/25/21 33881 miles check engine light came on Electronic throttle body control system replaced by Jeep, had to pay out of pocket !!! 10/27/21 35278 miles while slowing down door chime went off battery light came on and Jeep stalled. Tried starting back up it was hesitating finally started would happen randomly. Tech not able to duplicate 6/29/22 40866 miles Vehicle does not accelerate at all different speeds, same issues as before, Jeep relearned ETC Under warranty from 8/2021 replacement. 7/5/22 40959 miles while driving vehicle does not accelerate properly gas peddle to the floor speed does not go up but rpm’s at 4000, has to pull over several times and restart vehicle. Jeep could not duplicate 9/16/22 43500 miles vehicle was not accelerating would not go over 40, rpm’s going over 4000 , making loud engine sounds, stabilization light came on along with message 4wd not in service. Jeep said they couldn’t duplicate issue. Will hold overnight. Still awaiting answer. This is a major safety issue, putting me or whoever is driving along with passengers at risk, if vehicle isn’t accelerating not able to go on highways, driving is limited due to not knowing what to expect. Driving through intersections very risky, have to make sure no one is anywhere near to being close because I don’t know if I will get out of the way On time! Jeep dealership aware of the issue, since they replaced throttle body in 8/2021. But I believe all of the symptoms from the beginning are all linked to this issue. Stalling is a major safety issue. I bought a new car for safety reasons, to be reliable on a new car. Unfortunately I am not safe nor do I feel this car is reliable!
Every time I come to a red light or a stop sign and apply pressure to the break the voltage of the battery goes down. The vehicle cuts off and it will not start back up. I can be in a traffic jam and apply pressure to the brake and the vehicle will cut off leaving me in the middle of traffic. It will not start back up.
About 1 year after purchasing 2019 Jeep Cherokee, the SUV would stall. This is what happens: stopped at a red light or a stop sign. Foot is on the brake. Once the light turns green , or I can now process beyond the stop Sign, I lift my foot off the brake, to the gas. As soon as my foot is lifted from the brake. The auto park/brake goes on. The brake pedal gets stuck. I am not able to drive. The light turns orange for the parking brake(was not prior) the light turns orange where it states “PULL ON (P) “. Cars in back of me start to beep their horns. I have to then put the car into park (it is currently in drive) . After placed in park, I have to completely turn the engine off. Restart the car/SUV, then go back into drive. There has been times when I was not able to do this (ie restart the SUV). I would have to spend several minutes trying to push (pump) the brake a few times that is locked now. I only have to do this when I am Not able to put the car into park from drive before restarting the car (SUV). This happens without me even adjusting the Brake / Park that reads “PULL ON “ with a “P” and circle. Meaning, the parking brake light is not on when this happens; it is off. I Have brought to the dealership and told they “cannot replicate the problem .” They explain “diagnostics “ were run and there is no issues. I thought maybe it has something to do with electrical and the engine shutting off automatically while stopped a light. I asked if this feature could be turned off and was told by the dealership it could Not be. Meaning, the feature where the car engine shuts off when stopped at a light . No resolution; dealership overall dismissive of concern. Recently have noticed rarely that the lane change departure feature will not light up or alarm when there is a “blind spot” and a car present. This was a new purchase in 2019 and was not a used car purchase. The year of the car is a 2019.
When stopped the car will engage the emergency break and stall. The car then has difficulty restarting. It will just turn over and over and eventually after letting it sit for a minute, it will restart. The brake light and now the battery light come on. Initally, we thought it may be due to the seat sensor & the car thinking that no one was in it so it was engaging the brake. However, the dealership says the seat sensor is fine. Now it is my understanding this may have to do with the auto start stop and the aux battery not fully charging which causes it to pull power from the main battery. There is no way to permanetly turn off the stop/start. By turning it off temporarily, it causes the aux battery to not charge but if I leave it on my car stalls when stopped. Ive taken it in at least twice when under warranty & they "could not replicate" the issue so it was never fixed. Now it's 3 months out of warranty and is stalling regularly - twice in the last week. They said they may try to get it covered under warranty since Ive brought it in multiple times before but they dont know. It is very unsafe to have the car stall when stopped. Im taking the car in today for them to look at it. Ive spoken to two dealerships and they both told me that this has been an on going problem they have seen on this car recently.
My dash material is lifting and I’m not sure who to contact. Jeep said this is not an issue but I’m finding many people with the same issue. This has to be a factory defect. How do I get this taken care of.
Stop/Start. The jeep will often stop while driving at any speeds, including top speed. It’s as if the stop/start has kicked in abruptly stopping my car as I’m driving. When this happens sometimes, not consistently, the stop/start light will come, or ye automatic brake lift even the motor light, When the situation occurs, I try to carefully pull over if I have not speed from coast to do so. Then I manually shut the ignition off and then re-start my jeep. The engine does not usually want to restart and sometimes takes several tries (as if it’s an old car in cold winter temps). I have even stalled while going through a highway intersection. Because I had just started accelerating when I stalled there was not enoug speed so I stopped in the middle of intersection. Luckily people were able to swerve. I have two friends with the same make, model and year office. Both have experienced the same issues once their vehicles reached 60,000-70,000 miles. Their dealer found the problem to be with the automatic break lock. Unfortunately because I have not completely broke down, dealers have been unable to diagnose my problem. This is a huge danger and hazard. I hope to hear this is a recall or update that will he resolved soon.
The past months I've have been having trouble with my 8.4 Uconnect radio. I was told by a jeep dealership that I need a new radio paying out of my money and another dealership, originally from where I purchase the vehicle, that they can't do anything to help me. The issue is the lamination on the touch screen is peeling and causes the radio to press its own buttons all the time. i cannot use apple car play, Bluetooth, navigation system, USB port, radio, maps, google maps without it going crazy. it takes me longer to get to places with maps and have unable to answer phone calls hands free. I have a 7-month baby that I constantly have in the car and would like to avoid potential accidents. there hasn't been any accidents
The Auto Start/Stop will power down at a Red Light and shut the car off completely. I will Have to restart the car at the red light to prevent this from happening. It has happened several times already.
I was driving on a highway and the car completely shut down. there was no ability to start car back up using the power start or by pressing the start button. was unable to shift into neutral to move the car out of traffic, causing a jam. the car needed to be dragged onto a tow bed. took the car to jeep dealership to which no codes came up when they scanned it.
Vehicle will shutdown and stall with no warning primarily when coming to a stop. THE CONSUMER STATED THE 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE EQUIPPED WITH A 2.4L ENGINE HAS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH THE POWER TRAIN. THE CONSUMER REFERENCED RECALL UA9/18V-739.
While driving any speed over 65 mph the hood though latched and closed will flutter. Any attempts at making hood adjustments have not worked, still continues to flutter.
Several times while waiting at stop light car completely shuts off once needing to begin motion. Shut down has taken place during a turn. Car screen completely shut off as well and froze during driving. Car will turn off after trying to restart car. May stall a couple times before turning back on. Warning light shows start/ stop signal with exclamation mark. No lights were on prior to car completely shutting off. The car shutting off in mid turn could have resulted in my children and myself being seriously injured and a car rear ending or t-boning me. This vehicle has not been inspected as original dealer says this issue is not on recall and are currently backed up with vehicles due to being short staffed. Based off information provided the repairs may be costly.
I was driving my jeep and it shutoff randomly it Is apparently a problem with the 2.4 tigershark engines they burn oil excessively leading to a low oil shit off with no warning it has happened quite a few times
My vehicle stopped working 2 times while driving. I still had control of the brakes and steering but it was like the vehicle just shut off by itself while I was driving. Luckily I was in a residential area so I wasn’t going that fast. I noticed to the control panels flashed or blinked and the car made a few beeping sounds. But after I pulled over put the car in park, shut it off then started it again it did sound like it was struggling to start again but it did and it was ok after that. But it was a scary experience, imagine if I had been on the freeway going 55 mph I’ve also had problems with the start stop system, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. One other thing is when I accelerate sometimes there’s a delay or it seems like the vehicle is struggling to pick up speed. And the last item not dangerous, just annoying..the radio will occasionally go loud soft, loud soft. But I found a way to make it stop when it happens I just switch from am and back to fm and then it’s normal again but it would be nice not to have to do that every time I get in the car.
The radio screen has delaminated and Navigation now does not work and the screen constantly shows the message “Do you want to adjust your clock settings”. Doesn’t matter if I click out via “yes”, “no” or the “ X” in the upper right corner, it just comes back on. It also makes a clicking noise and there is a flashing light on the time on the screen. This is distracting while driving, and the screen will go black when I’m backing up so I can’t see anything behind me. I am the second owner and the car is out of warranty so the dealer will not cover the cost of the repair. I have to fix it so I have my navigation and back up camera again. I did my research and apparently this is a huge problem with Jeeps and Chryslers. But no recall. This is affecting my driving with the screen flipping to that message and the clicking noise. My only choice is never using the radio. The dealer will order and install the new radio when I can come up with the money to pay for it. It’s quite expensive. The problem has been confirmed by the dealer. They suggested I call FCA, which I did and they told me there was nothing they could do to offer any price relief.
The 8.4 uconnect screen is delaminating causing an internal malfunction. This presents a serious safety concern that has been repeatedly reported to the NHTSA and FCA. The screen goes black and freezes; causing loss of back up cameras, loss of navigation, climate and radio changing. The screen constantly changing causes distraction to the driver posing a significant safety issue. This is a known issue and yet FCA continues to put drivers, passengers and others on the road at risk by intentionally and knowingly concealing or omitting facts concerning the quality of the vehicle and the defective Uconnect and the risk to safety. FCA and the dealer concealed the defect with no intent to replace or repair the defect during the warranty period. Then refuse to cover the fix that is over $2,000. The issue has been reproduced at the dealer service department and on video. Prior to the complete delamination and screen failure the system would turn black and reboot frequently. No reasonable customer expects a vehicle to present a defect that exposes drivers and occupants to such a safety hazard.
Roaring sound coming from front righthand at speed greater than 50 mph.
Recently purchased this vehicle. FM radio volume cuts in and out randomly, and often. Some stations only work some of the time. Sometimes there is a lot of static. These are local stations that I have had no issue with in previous vehicles. AM radio and SiriusXM radio work fine. Only the FM radio seems to be affected. There have been no safety concerns, and the vehicle has not been inspected yet. I have researched this issue, and it seems to be a very common issue with Jeep that needs fixed. If the problem is this common, there should be a recall to have this issue fixed.
There is something wrong with the stop start functionality on this vehicle. I am not sure how it is connected to the car but it causes my car to stop while I am driving literally. I've had this issue since I purchased the car I took it to the dealer to get fixed twice and called the manufacturer three times. I am having the issue again. I advised that dealership as well as jeep that I could get hurt if someone hits me from my car stopping abruptly ( I live in Chicago people drive fast and dangerously ) and they have done nothing to assist me with resolving the issue. but, whatever they keep fixing isn't the problem and I think that this is a violation of the law to have an unsafe vehicle on the road and I believe someone ( either Jeep or the dealership) were aware of the issues before I purchased the car. But , if I trade it in then someone else will just adopt the unsafe car at this point I am not sure what to do but reach out directly to the government but, I don't want to die my life is important to me and I cant just go buy another car I am not wealthy. I also , dont want someone to drive this car and something happens to them.
While driving, the Jeep suddenly loses all power and shuts down. This is extremely dangerous as it seems to happen at random. So far only on side streets, but what if I was in the middle of an intersection? The manufacturer knows this is an issue with the model year and make, complaints litter the internet. They have not issued a recall, I suppose someone needs to die first.
UNKNOWN The radio fades in and out. Happens only some of the time but if it is going to happen it happens right away or it doesn't happen at all. It sounds to me like the wiring is faulty. I checked the uconnect website and it says my software is up to date. I have seen this same complaint all over the internet. My sister-in-law has the exact same problem. Jeep refuses to take responsibility or really figured out the issue so that it can be fixed. There has to be something they can do. It is maddening and really sounds like it could be something applied to the lemon law.
The start/stop function frequently failed and the car struggled to start up. Took it to the dealership and they said it just needed a software update. The software update did not fix the issue and my car failed to turn back on at a traffic light once it turned green. I did some research on the issue and found MANY other 2019 cherokee owners have had the same issue and those people all said there was a dead spot on the starter. Took my car back to the dealership's service department and was told I needed a new starter. It's a just barely 2 year old vehicle. It should not need a new starter already. And the issue started in 2020 but got significantly worse this year. It puts people's safety at risk. Some have even said the start/stop feature shut the car off mid turn. I'm in a rental car right now until the car is fixed.
My vehicle stalled twice while pulling out into traffic. It starts back up but I have to put it in park and then restart it.
Going from park to reverse the vehicle Reverse starts flashing and driving forward. This happened to me in January 2021 and March 2021. During parallel parking the breaks also decide to turn on. Driving slow in a parking lot the engine has turned itself off. It has done this indefinitely while Driving where the engine light turns on. Shifting from drive to park has also caused the vehicle to reverse. Shifting from park to drive has caused the D to blink and start reversing. The car is hard in steering at times and the radio and Ac have random turned themselves on while I’m driving without me doing it. Since the computer is recalled I do believe these issues mean the vehicle has a transmission issue. It cannot calibrate what gear it’s in properly.
There is a stall when driving. A lot of the time when you stop and go it stalls for a second before it goes. It also happens when I am driving. If I am pressing on the gas it will stall as well. It has almost caused me to have an accident when it does the stall.
My 2019 Jeep Cherokee stalled at a red light, stalled inside a car wash (brake light on) unable to move. Then twice this week stalled at stop sign battery light came on. Battery is perfectly clean all connections are tight.
MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE WITH THE 2.4L HAS REPEATEDLY STALLED WHILE DRIVING SINCE PURCHASING 4 MONTHS AGO. UPON DOING RESEARCH, I SEE THERE'S BEEN MANY RECALLS ON SIMILAR VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ENGINE AND YEAR AS MINE, HOWEVER MINE IS NOT COVERED. CONSIDERING MY VEHICLE IS ALSO STALLING WHILE DRIVING AND DECELERATING, I AM FILING A COMPLAINT TO BROADEN THE RECALL TO INCLUDE MORE VINS. ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS, MY VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING WHEN SLOWING DOWN BUT STILL IN MOTION. IT WILL NOT STAY RUNNING FOR THE PAST WEEK WHEN DECELERATING.
Mileage: 47,800
FOR THE PAST 4 DAYS, MY VEHICLE STALLS WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT WARNING. IT HAPPENS EACH TIME WHILE DECELERATING, BUT STILL IN MOTION. THERE ARE/WERE RECALLS ON THE EXACT YEAR AND ENGINE MODELS AS MY VEHICLE, BUT ACCORDING TO MY VIN, MINE IS NOT INCLUDED SO I AM FILING A REPORT. IT IS A 2019 2.4L AND STALLS WHEN IN MOTION.
FM RADIO FADES IN AND OUT. AND VOLUME CHANGES DRASTICALLY WITH DIFFERENT STATION CHANGES. SOMETIMES RESTARTING THE CAR HELPS.

SLOWING TO A STOP LIGHT AND VEHICLE STALLED OUT LOSING ALL POWER. THE VEHICLE HAS ALREADY HAD THE RECALLS ASSOCIATED COMPLETED AND HAD A RECENT OILS CHANGE. THE DAY AFTER THE RECALLS, THE CAR STALLED AGAIN BEFORE COMING TO A FULL STOP. TWICE IT WAS ON A HIGHWAY, ONCE IN A DRIVEWAY, ONCE IN AN INTERSECTION COMING OFF A BRIDGE. TWICE IN MOTION OTHERS WERE AT A STOP. I LOST COUNT AND THE ISSUE IS INCONSISTENT. MOST RECENT 1/24/21

WHILE DRIVING, MY REAR HATCH WARNING CAME ON, I PULLED OVER TO REALIZE THAT THE LATCH WOULD NOT LOCK, CAUSING MY LIGHTS TO STAY ON, CAUSING A COLD ENVIRONMENT FOR MY 9 MONTHS OLD BABY, WITH THE DOOR NOT BEING ABLE TO SEAL. WITH THIS BROKEN, ALSO DISABLES MY REMOTE START, VOIDING ANY ANTI THEFT ABILITIES.

WHILE DRIVING, MY CAR WILL RANDOMLY SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. THERE IS A DINGING NOISE AND A QUICK FLASH OF THE BATTERY LIGHT AND THEN IT SAYS THE PRESS BRAKE AND PUSH START. I CAN NOT ACCELERATE BUT CAN BRAKE. AS SOON AS I'M COMPLETELY STOPPED, THE STEERING LOCKS AND IT STRUGGLES TO START AGAIN. IT IS RANDOM AND HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE IN A ROW. IT HAPPENED 4 MONTHS AGO AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID THE BATTERY FAILED AND REPLACED THE BATTERY, BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN A WEEK AGAIN WHILE I WAS TURNING. AFTER I RESTARTED IT, IT DID IT LIKE 15 SECONDS LATER. THEN TWO DAYS AFTER THAT IT SHUT OFF RANDOMLY WHILE I WAS DRIVING 35-40 MPH DOWN A STRAIGHT ROAD. I'VE TAKEN IT IN AGAIN AND THIS TIME THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. BATTERY WAS FINE, NO CODES. EVEN THE SOFTWARE THAT GOT UPDATED BECAUSE OF THE RECALL (STALLING WHILE DRIVING) WAS FINE. I'VE SEEN PEOPLE SAY THAT THE OIL LEVEL CAN CAUSE IT TO STALL, BUT MY OIL WAS AT 60% AT THE TIME IT STARTED HAPPENING. IT'S NOT SAFE THAT THE CAR RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WITHOUT NOTICE, WHILE DRIVING ON A ROAD OR HIGHWAY. THAT CAN CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF IT HAPPENS AT THE WRONG TIME.
Mileage: 32,500
6 TIMES IN THE LAST WEEK, MY CAR HAS SHUT OFF MID DRIVE. AS I AM DRIVING, MY CAR WILL DING, MY BATTERY LIGHT WILL FLASH ON AND THEN MY CAR WILL COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN WITHIN 3-5 SECONDS. I WILL HAVE TO TURN MY KEY TO OFF, WAIT A MINUTE AND RESTART. I WILL HAVE TO PUMP THE GAS PEDAL AND MY CAR WILL SPUTTER BEFORE IT TURNS OVER AND STARTS BACK UP. UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES, I DO NOT HAVE ANY ENGINE LIGHTS DISPLAYED ON MY SCREEN FOR ATTENTION AND EVERYTHING RUNS SMOOTHLY. I HAVE ALSO CHECKED MY BATTERY ON THE SCREEN DISPLAY AS I DRIVE AND IT IS ALWAYS BETWEEN 14.2-14.4V. DURING THESE SHUTS, MY CAR IS GOING UNDER 30 MILES PER HOUR, BUT HAS HAPPENED AS I AM TURNING AND GOING STRAIGHT. MOST RECENTLY (THIS MORNING), I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT (HAD JUST PULLED OUT OF MY PARKING SPOT AT MY APARTMENT) AND MY BATTERY LIGHT TURNED ON AND MY CAR LOCKED. THE STEERING WHEEL AND PEDALS WERE UNUSABLE, BUT MY ENGINE REMAINED ON. I CHECKED MY BATTERY DURING THIS AND IT SAYS IT WAS AT 12.2V. I HAD TO SHUT MY CAR OFF, PUMP THE GAS TO TURN THE ENGINE OVER AND MY BATTERY DISPLAYED AS BACK AT 14.4V. THIS HAPPENED 3 MORE TIMES BEFORE I WAS OUT OF MY APARTMENT COMPLEX (EVERY 50 FEET OR SO) AND I TURNED AROUND AND PARKED AGAIN. I HAD MY CAR HOOKED UP TO DIAGNOSTICS MACHINE AFTER IT BEGAN THE FIRST SHUT DOWNS, BUT IT RETURNED WITH NO ERROR CODES AND MY BATTERY TESTED FINE AND ALL THE WIRES WERE SECURE. I CALLED MY JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED I AM OUTSIDE MY WARRANTY (BY 800 MILES), SO I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE FIX. THIS IS CLEARLY A DEFECT WITH MY CAR. I CAN SEE THROUGH ONLINE RESEARCH THAT MANY OTHER JEEP CHEROKEE OWNERS ARE HAVING THESE EXACT ISSUES AND JEEP IS GIVING THEM THE RUNAROUND. I ALSO SEE THERE ARE SOME RECALLS FOR JEEP PERTINENT TO THIS CONCERN, HOWEVER MY PARTICULAR CAR IS NOT INCLUDED. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS MY SON WAS IN MY CAR FOR ALL OCCURRENCES + I HAVE A 30 MIN COMMUTE.

I FEEL THAT A PROPER SAFETY INSPECTION WAS COMPLETED BEFORE ENTERPRISE CAR RENTAL ON 37TH STREET NORTH IN WICHITA, KANSAS SENT ME AWAY IN THE VEHICLE.

BOUGHT CAR IN 1/20 WITH 2.4L TIGERSHARK ENGINE. USING EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL; GARAGE DID NOT DIAGNOSE AND CAR IS NOW AT JEEP DEALER. WE HAD OIL CHANGES COMPLETED AS REQUIRED AND STILL HAD TO ADD OIL BETWEEN CHANGES. AT THE LAST GARAGE VISIT THEY HAD TO ADD 2.5 QUARTS OF OIL. NO OIL LIGHT CAME ON AT ANY TIME. WHEN CAR STARTED RUNNING ROUGH AND WANTED TO STALL WE TOOK IMMEDIATELY TO GARAGE. THEY SAY WE NEED A REBUILT OR NEW ENGINE BECAUSE OF THE OIL CONSUMPTION. WE ARE WORKING SENIORS WITH ONLY ONE VEHICLE! A $3,000 BILL IS RIDICULOUS ESPECIALLY SINCE WE FOUND THAT THIS ENGINE HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM SINCE 2012!

LESS THAN A YEAR INTO THE PURCHASE OF A BRAND NEW 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE, THE AUTO START-STOP FAILED COMPLETELY DURING DAILY RIDES (BEFORE THEN, IT USED TO WORK PERFECTLY -- AT THE RED LIGHT FOR EXAMPLE). TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER WHERE I HAD BOUGHT MY CAR FROM, THEY TOLD ME THE FEATURE FUNCTIONS ON A SEPARATE BATTERY AND THAT THEY COULD DO NOTHING CRAZY BUT MANUALLY (TEMPORARILY) RECHARGE WHATEVER BATTERY THEY WERE REFERRING TO. THE SERVICE MANAGER ALSO CLUELESSLY TOLD ME TO GIVE IT A FEW HOURS AFTER EACH RIDE UNTIL THE BATTERY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE AUTO START-STOP FUNCTIONALITY RECHARGES ITSELF. ALTHOUGH I FOLLOWED THEIR INSTRUCTION, I GOT ZERO RESULT. TODAY AT THE TIME OF WRITING THIS COMPLAINT, IT IS GETTING CLOSE TO TWO YEARS AFTER MY PURCHASE AND THERE OCCURS ANOTHER ANNOYING BUG: THE MAIN BATTERY KEEPS DYING ON ME EVERY TIME I WANT TO START THE CAR. ALSO, THE FRONT DISPLAY SHOWS AN "ENGINE TEMPERATURE HOT" MESSAGE AS THE BATTERY FAILS TO START THE CAR, ALTHOUGH I DO NOT BELIEVE THE MESSAGE IS RELEVANT SINCE MY CAR HAD BEEN SITTING IN A FAIRLY COOL SPOT FOR AT LEAST 10 HOURS - NO REASON FOR ANY PARTS OF IT TO GET HOT WHILE THE ENGINE IS SHUT DOWN.

THE CHEROKEE SUDDENLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY TURNS OFF. LUCKILY WHILE STANDING AT A RED LIGHT. WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP - DROVE SEVERAL MILES WITHOUT FINDING AN ISSUE. TODAY (8-5-2020) IT HAPPENED AGAIN FOR THE THIRD TIME.

THE UCONNECT SYSTEM IS MALFUNCTIONING WHEN IN MOTION. IT IS RANDOMCLY CALLING PEOPLE, NAV IS A MESS AND NOT WORKING, RADIO WILL SWITCH FROM FM/AM/SATTELITE STATIONS, EVERY THING IS HAPHAZARDLY MESSED UP. I FEEL IT VERY DANGEROUS AS IT IS SO DISTRACTING. I TRADED THE CAR YESTERDAY SO I WOULD NOT GET IN AN ACCIDENT.

MY CAR HAS STALLED ON ME A TOTAL OF 8 TIMES. TODAY WHILE AT THE GAS STATION I TURNED MY CAR OFF AND HAD TO WAIT IN THE HEAT FOR MY CAR TO REBOOT AND COME BACK ON. I SPOKE WITH SOME ONE IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHO TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL HAD BEEN TAKEN CARE OF AND THAT WE SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY OTHER PROBLEMS JUST 1 WK AND A HALF AGO WHEN MY CAR WAS SERVICED. WE ARE CURRENTLY HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I'M FURIOUS! I CALL AND CALL AND GET THE RUN AROUND AND NOW AM TOLD SINCE I HAVE 65000 MILES I MAY NOW HAVE TO COVER THE EXPENSES OF A NEW STARTER BECAUSE OF THEIR MESS UP.
I HAVE REPORTED PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND REVVING UP WHILE DRIVING TODAY. BUT I GOT IN MY JEEP WENT DOWN THERE ROAD TO A STOP SIGN. THEN PRECEDED TO DRIVE AND THE JEEP JUST ROARED AND DID NOT ACCELERATE, I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD THEN HERE COMES TRAFFIC CLOSER. THE TRANSMISSION IS A PROBLEM. THERE IS NO FIXING, EVERY JEEP SHIP I GO TO, THEY DON'T FINE NOTHING. *TR

MY CAR HAS TURNED OFF ON ME SEVERAL TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT IT. IT SLOWLY STARTS AND SHUTS OFF WHEN I MAKE A TURN. IT HAS SHUT OFF ON ME UP TO 4 TIMES IN LESS THAN A MILE, WHILE I HAVE MY CHILD IN THE CAR. ALSO IN A BUSY INTERSECTION. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY SAY IT IS DUE TO LOW OIL AND THEY ADD IT AND SEND ME ON MY WAY. THIS ISSUE CONTINUES AND IS A HUGE INCONVENIENCE. 04/10 WAS THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED, I TOOK IT IN AND THEY CHANGED MY OIL AGAIN. *TR

EVERY TIME I DON'T GET AN OIL CHANGE RIGHT AWAY, MY CAR WILL STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AT RANDOM TIMES WITH NO WARNING. I HAVE BEEN WITH MY TWO YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE CAR WHEN THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES, IT'S EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND I AM SO TIRED OF THIS ISSUE. I'VE SPOKE WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID ALL JEEP CHEROKEE'S ARE LIKE THIS, AS IF IT IS NORMAL. WE ARE LUCKY WE HAVEN'T GOTTEN INTO A CRASH DUE TO THIS. THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS AND I'M LOOKING INTO DOING A BUY BACK FOR THIS CAR. CAN'T TRUST JEEP NOW.

I AM HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES THAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING. NO ACCELERATION, VEHICLE STALLING, THE CAR REVVING OVER 4-5K RPMS STOPPED AND FOOT ON BRAKE, RADIO ISSUES. 2 WEEKS AFTER I PURCHASED VEHICLE AS I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY GARAGE IT MADE A HORRIBLE SCREECHING NOISE LIKE IRON SCRAPPING AGAINST CONCRETE. IT CONTINUED DOING THAT AND I TOOK IT TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE CERAMIC BRAKES. IT CONTINUED AND HAD TO KEEP TAKING IT INTO SHOP FINALLY THEY REPLACED THE PADS AND ROTORS I PICKED IT UP ON A FRIDAY AND SUNDAY IT DID THE SAME THING. SO TOOK IT BACK AS OF 02/27/20 IT STILL MAKES THE SAME SOUND AND SOMETIMES IT WILL BRAKE AND THE CAR JERKS REAL BAD. ALSO IT ROLLS ABOUT HALF A TURN OF THE FRONT TIRE WHEN I HAVE PUT IT IN PARK WITH FOOT ON BRAKE TURN IT OFF AND TAKE MY FOOT OF THE BRAKE. I HAVE RECORDED THE NOISE IT MAKES AND VIDEOED THE TIRES ROLLING. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY THE LAST TIME IT MADE THE NOISE AND BRAKED WAS 02-12-20. BUT IT DOSE IT SO OFTEN THAT I GAVE UP RECORDING THE NOISE. INCLUDING OTHER DATES THAT IT HAS HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME WAS 2 WEEKS AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 07/03/19. OTHER DATES 11-25-19,12-17-19,12-22-19-TWICE THAT DAY 01-04-20,01-09-20,01-10-20,01/13/20,01/15/20,01/31/20,02/12/20 THOSE ARE THE ONES I HAVE JOTTED DOWN DOSE NOT INCLUDED THE RECORDED ONES. RENTED A VEHICLE FROM ENTERPRISE A JEEP CHEROKEE 2019 WITH ONLY 18,620 MILES. DRIVING NORTH FROM FORT LAUDERDALE TO DAYTONA. AFTER 3HRS ON THE ROAD THE CAR HAD AN ENGINE EXPLOSION. ANOTHER VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME STARTS SIGNALING ME AN TELLS ME THE CAR WAS ON FIRE. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND GET OFF THE CAR, SAW LIVE FLAME GOING UNDER THE HOOD. PULLED ALL MY BELONGINGS OUT AND IN MATTER OF MINUTES THE WHOLE VEHICLE WAS BURNED.

PREVIOUSLY, I REPORTED ISSUES WITH OIL CONSUMPTION, WHICH EVENTUALLY REQUIRED AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT. I NOW HAVE AN ISSUE WITH STEERING WHEEL, FEELS LIKE IT IS TRYING TO CORRECT ITSELF WHEN DRIVING REGULAR STREETS AND HIGHWAY WITH NO ISSUES OF ALIGNMENT, TIRES, ETC. APPT WITH NAPLETON'S ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ON 1/23/2020 DID NOT MENTION ANYTHING THAT WAS DONE TO LOOK FOR ISSUE, OTHER THAN RECALL SOFTWARE UPDATE OF 18VA9182, WHICH THEY SAID WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. IN ADDITION, I JUST RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FROM FCA, STATING THAT WHEN I HAD TAKEN MY VEHICLE IN FOR RECALL #18V739, THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PROPERLY INSPECTED AND THE RECALL WAS CLOSED. I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP THIS WAS DONE COMPLETED AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO THE UPDATE, HOWEVER, THEY HAD NOT COMPLETED THE CORRECT ONE, AND THE PROBLEM WITH STEERING STILL PERSISTS. I AM WORRIED THIS ISSUE IS A SAFETY CONCERN, AND WOULD LIKE TO BE CONTACTED TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM ADDRESSED.

TRUCK CUTS OFF WHEN I MAKE TURNS OR IF I STOP AT A STOP LIGHT. WHEN YOU TRY TO START THE TRUCK BACK UP IT HESITATES AND WHEN IT DOES START BACK UP IT STUTTERS. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE TRUCK ALL OF A SUDDEN WHILE FLASH A LOW OIL LIGHT AND SAY LOW OIL PRESSURE AND I JUST HAD MY OIL CHANGED AT THE DEALERSHIP. NOW IT WON'T PICK UP SPEED PAST 10 AND A MESSAGE IS POPPING UP THAT SAYS CHECK SOMETHING ELECTRICAL. I CAN'T EVEN DRIVE THE TRUCK BECAUSE I'M AFRAID I'M GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I WAS DRIVING HOME TODAY FROM WORK AND BARELY MADE IT. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ISN'T EVEN ON. BUT IT'S NOT SHIFTING GEARS IT IDILES UP AND JUST STAYS STUCK I HAVE TO TAKE MY FOOT OF THE GAS TO TRY MAKE IT CHANGE WHILE DRIVING ON THE CITY STREETS. ARKANSAS HAS A LOT OF HILLS AND I HAVE TO GO UP ONE TO GET HOME AND I ALMOST DIDN'T MAKE IT UP THE HILL IN TRAFFIC BECAUSE THE TRUCK STARTED STUTTERING AND THE OIL WARNINGS STARTED FLASHING.

I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE 3 DAYS AGO WITH 17,600 MILES. , I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THE VEHICLE CUT OFF WHEN AT A STOPPED POSITION EVEN IF THE GEARS ARE IN DRIVE. TODAY I ATTEMPTED TO TURN ON THE VEHICLE BUT SHOWED NO SIGN OF POWER, I WAITIED AND TRIED AGAIN. ONCE I GOT THE VEHICLE TO RUN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. EVERYTIME I SLOWED DOWN MY JEEP WOULD CUT OFF. I FIGURED OUT I COULD GET IT TO RESTART IN NEUTRAL AS I'M FINDING SOMEWHERE TO COAST OFF ROAD, BUT WOULD HAVE TO PUT IN PARK TO SHIFT BACK TO DRIVE. I MADE IT TO DEALER AND THEY SAID IT VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND HOPEFULLY A RECALL WILL BE SOON BECAUSE THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE THE JEEP USING OIL AND THEN THE ENGINE STARTS SHUTTING DOWN TO PROTECT FURTHER DAMAGE. THEY FILLED WITH OIL AND IT RAN FINE.. THE DEALERS TEMPORARY SOLUTION IS TO DO A OIL CONSUMPTION TEST TO TURN INTO MOPAR. SO I HAVE TO HAVE THEM CHECK THE OIL EVERY 1000 MILES. THE FIRST 1000 IT USED VERY LITTLE AND THEY SAID GO AHEAD AND TRY ANOTHER 1000 AND COME BACK. I MADE IT TO ABOUT 500 MILES AND NOW MY JEEP WILL NOT START. THANKFULLY IT IS IN MY DRIVEWAY AND I DIDN'T BREAK DOWN ON THE STREET AGAIN. I'M GOING TO TOP OFF THE OIL AND SEE IF THAT DOES ANYTHING. I'M AFRAID OF ANOTHER PROBLEM BECAUSE IT'S NOT MAKING ANY NOISE WHEN I TRY STARTING. ALSO, FEBRUARY 2019 I DID GET THE RECALL FIXED (POWER CONTROL MODULE) FROM THE DEALER. SO WHEN I WENT BACK FOR THIS ISSUE THEY TOLD ME I'D HAVE TO PAY THEM $130 FOR THEM TO EVEN TAKE A LOOK. I WAS SURPRISED TO BE TREATED LIKE THIS WITH A BRAND NEW VEHICLE SO I WENT TO THE DEALER IN THE NEXT COUNTY AND THEY TOLD ME ABOUT THE OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM AND DIDN'T CHARGE ME! ANOTHER THING IS THE SCREEN/INSTRUMENT PANEL HAS WENT OUT A FEW TIMES. ONCE THE ORIGINAL DEALER RESET IT, BUT IT STILL GOES OUT SOMETIMES OR IT GETS STUCK ON THE DIAL/KEYPAD SCREEN. BOTTOM LINE: NOW MY 2019 JEEP IS STUCK IN MY DRIVEWAY AND THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ANY SOLUTION.

ON 2/28/19 I PURCHASED A 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE. ON 4/15 I HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED DUE TO LEAK & FAILURE. ON 5/27 I HAD TO HAVE THE DASH INSTRUMENT PANEL REPLACED DUE TO FAILURE, WHICH I HAVE VIDEO RECORD OF. ON 7/10 I HAD TO HAVE THE PARK SENSOR REPLACED DUE TO FAILURE & THE VEHICLE THROWING ITSELF INTO PARK INSTRUCTING ME THAT DOOR WAS AJAR WHEN IT WASN'T. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DOING 70MPH ON THE FREEWAY. MY VIN IS NOT SHOWING IN ANY OF THE RECALLS, HOWEVER THREE RECALLS PERTAIN TO ME. SO I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO DO TO MAKE PPL AWARE OF THESE RECALLS. MY VIN NEEDS TO BE ADDED TO THE LIST. I HAVE ALL REPAIR REPORTS NEEDED TO PROVE MY VEHICLE IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE REPETITIVELY ASKED JEEP TO PLACE ME IN A SAFER MORE RELIABLE VEHICLE AND THEY REFUSE TO RETURN MY CALLS OR ASSIST ME IN ANY WAY, STATING THAT 'THIS IS WHY WE HAVE WARRANTIES' SOMEONE NEEDS TO CONTACT ME ABOUT THIS ISSUE. I NEED HELP BEFORE MY VEHICLE RESULTS IN A FATAL CRASH NO KILLS MY FAMILY AND ME. I AM NOTING THAT I CONTACTED THE NHTSA ABOUT THIS ISSUE ON 9/11 AND AM AWAITING A RESPONSE.
AIR CONDITIONER HAS NOT WORKED SINCE I PURCHASED IN 2018. WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR SITTING STILL THE CAR DOES NOT COOL PROPERLY AND EVERYONE COMPLAINS OF BEING HOT IN THE CAR. I HAVE SEEN IN THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE WATER DRIPPING AND PUFFS OF SMOKE COMING FROM THE DRIVERS A/C VENT THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IT LOOKED LIKE A CLOUD OF CONDENSATION. THE FIRST TIME I WAS DRIVING TO FLORIDA AND THE SMOKE HIT ME IN THE FACE AND IT SCARED ME, I COULD HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT. THE MOST IRRITATING THING IS THAT I HEAR THE A/C COMPRESSOR WHILE IT'S WORKING THE NOISE IS LOUD AND DISTRACTING. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN GOING ON FROM AUGUST 2018 TO CURRENT DATE.

THERE WAS NO INDICATION OR WARNING LIGHTS THAT MAY HAVE INDICATED A PROBLEM ON 7-26-19. MY NEIGHBOR CALLED POLICE AT 12:39 AM STATING THAT MY VEHICLE WAS FULLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. MY 2019 IS ABOUT TO HAVE IT'S 3RD OIL CHANGE, APPARENTLY IT'S SUPPOSED TO GO EVERY 3,000 MILES TO GET AN OIL CHANGE. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THE GUY THAT'S IN SERVICES DIDN'T CARE OF MY CONCERN REGARDING THE CHEROKEE TURNING OFF WHILE DRIVING DURING TRAFFIC ESPECIALLY IN THE FREEWAYS, ALL HE KEPT SAYING YUP YUP YUP. HE KEPT TELLING ME HE HAS A PAPER STATING THAT JEEP CHEROKEES NEW MODELS ARE BUILT LIKE THAT NOW. ALL HE OFFERED WAS TO DO AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST WHICH I HAVE TO MAKE AN APPT FOR AND GO EVERY 1,000 MILES TO GET IT READ. I MENTIONED THAT THE COMPASS HAS THE SAME TYPE ENGINE, HOWEVER, WITH THE COMPASS I WOULD GO 5,000 MILES OR MORE. I CANNOT CONTINUE TO PAY FOR A CAR THAT PUTS ME AND MY FAMILY AT RISK FOR ACCIDENT. MY CAR TURNS OFF COMPLETELY ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD TURNS ON BEFORE TURNING OFF AND STATES IT'S THE BATTERY WHEN IT'S NOT THE BATTERY. WHY HASNT THIS BEEN RECALLED OR FIX MY CHRYSLER OR FIAT! THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS AROUND CHRISTMAS TIME THEN 3 MONTHS LATER. I HAD TO GET MY FIRST OIL CHANGE BEFORE THE 3 MONTHS OF GETTING IT.

ON 6/8/2019, I PULLED THROUGH MY GATE, LEFT THE VEHICLE IN PARK TO CLOSE THE GATE WHICH TAKES A FEW SECONDS. MY VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. RESTARTED, AC WAS OFF, AUDIO ALSO OFF. DROVE FOR ABOUT 35 MILES, MADE 2 STOPS, ALL OK. NEXT LEG OF TRIP APPROX 20 MILES, COMING INTO ANOTHER TOWN AND APPROACHING TRAFFIC LIGHT. AT THE LIGHT AS I STOPPED, THE VEHICLE AGAIN SHUT DOWN IN DRIVE AT THE STOP LIGHT IN CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC. THIS WAS NOT THE AUTO STOP/START, IT SHUT DOWN AGAIN. HAD TO PUT IN PARK, IT DID RESTART, AND AGAIN, AC OFF, AUDIO OFF. PROCEEDED TO MY NEXT STOP WHERE THE VEHICLE TRIED TO SHUT DOWN AS I PULLED INTO PARKING SPOT, I WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE PARKING. UPON RETURNING TO THE VEHICLE, IT STARTED, BUT NOW HAVE BACK UP CAMERA FAILURE WHICH HAS NOT WORKED SINCE THAT EPISODE. FREQUENT DRIVER DISTRACTION - INTEGRATED NAVIGATION SYSTEM WEATHER ALERTS FROM SIRUSXM TRAVEL LINK APPLICATION. SIRUSXM APPLICATION 'TRAVEL LINK' IS ENABLED AND THERE IS NO USER OR SYSTEM ABILITY TO CONFIGURE OR DISABLE FROM FCA UCONNECT RADIO/UNITS IN ALL 2019 FCA VEHICLES (WITH NAVIGATION) INCLUDING OUR RECENTLY LEASED JEEP CHEROKEE. FREQUENT AND SOMETIMES NUMEROUS WEATHER AND TRAVEL ALERTS DISPLAY ON RADIO SCREEN, COVERING THE ENTIRE SCREEN, AND DO NOT DISAPPEAR. THE ALERT BLOCKS THE SCREEN, INCLUDING NAVIGATION, AND MUST BE MANUALLY DISMISSED TAKING FOCUS OFF THE ROAD. THE ALERTS ARE NOT JUST LOCAL ALERTS BUT RATHER COVER A 100 MILE RADIUS WHICH IS ALSO NOT CONFIGURABLE. THIS CONTRIBUTES TO THE NUMEROUS AMOUNT OF ALERTS AND FREQUENCY BY SIMPLY DRIVING A FEW MILES. FCA SUPPORT INCLUDING THE LOCAL DEALER HAVE CONFIRMED THERE IS NO ABILITY TO CONFIGURE THE ALERTS OR DISABLE THE ALERTS. THEY SUGGESTED CONTACTING SIRUSXM WHICH PROVIDES THE SIRUSXM TRAVEL LINK SERVICE. SIRUSXM IS UNWILLING TO HELP (REMOVE OR CONFIGURE TRAVEL LINK) AND IS ONLY WILLING TO REMOVE ALL TRIAL SIRUSXM SERVICES INCLUDING THE RADIO. THEY SUGGESTED WE CONTACT THE DEALER. OTHER OEM'S THAT OFFER TRAVELLINK SERVICE ALLOW FOR USERS TO CONFIGURE THE SERVICE OR DISABLE IF NEEDED. FCA CUSTOMER SERVICE DID MENTION THIS ISSUE HAS RESULTED IN MANY COMPLAINTS BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE A SOFTWARE UPDATE AVAILABLE. I BELIEVE FCA AND SIRUSXM BELIEVE THIS IS AN INCONVENIENCE ONLY. THIS IS NOT JUST AN INCONVENIENCE. DRIVERS MUST MANUALLY DISMISS EVERY ALERT. MY SON IS A FAIRLY NEW DRIVER AND THIS IS VERY CONCERNING.

I LEANED MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE BACK IN SEPTEMBER 2018. A WEEK AFTER LEASING IT I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO COME TO A STOP SIGN AND IT BEEPED AT ME AND ALL THE POWER SHUT OFF IN THE JEEP. I TRIED TO HIT THE START BUTTON NOTHING. I PUT IT IN PARK AFTER FIGHTING WITH IT TO GO INTO PARK AND TRIED THE START BUTTON AGAIN. NOTHING. SO I WAITED 2 MINUTES AND TRIED AGAIN IT TURNED BACK ON AND WAS FINE FOR THE REST OF THE DRIVE. JANUARY 24 2019 I WAS PULLING OUT OF THE PARKING GARAGE AT WORK AND AFTER 4 MINUTES OF IT BEING ON IT SHUT OFF MID DRIVING. SAME THING HAPPENED IT BEEPED AND ALL POWER SHUT OFF. I PUT IT IN PARK AND HIT THE START BUTTON. NOTHING. WAITING 2 MINUTES TRIED AGAIN TURNED ON MADE IT ALL THE WAY HOME. ALSO WHEN I TURN EITHER WAY IT BEEPS AS OF A DOOR IS OPEN. NO DOOR IS OPEN CHECK REPEATEDLY. WHEN I GO OVER A SPEED BUMP IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING IS GRINDING IN THE BACK END I HAVE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND START AGAIN AFTER THE BUMP OR THE JEEP WILL NOT MOVE. THEY DID NOT EVEN LOG MY VISIT TO THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER WHO SAID THEY WILL DO ANYTHING SINCE THE SERVICE TECH AT DEALER LOOKED AT AND SAW NO DEFECT TO THE FRAME. FORTUNATELY, I HAD MY INTERIOR PORTION OF THE SUNROOF CLOSED AND MAINTAINED CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE. THIS WAS NOT CAUSED BY ROAD DEBRI OR OTHER PRIOR INCIDENT AND JUST EXPLODED. WHEN A PHONE CALL COMES IN, THE RING VOLUME IS EXTREMELY HIGH. IT IS HEART STOPPING, IT MAKES YOU JUMP, YOU ARE DISTRACTED IN TRAFFIC TRYING TO QUICKLY TURN IT DOWN BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK TO ANSWER IT. I'VE READ HUNDREDS OF COMMENTS FROM OTHER JEEP OWNERS ON-LINE THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD BY JEEPCARE THAT THE CAR IS "OPERATING AS DESIGNED" AND THEY CAN'T ADJUST THE DEFAULT VOLUME DOWN FROM THE VOLUME LEVEL OF 15. IT WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THE HUGE DISTRACTION IT CAUSES ON THAT FIRST RING WHEN DRIVING. JEEP DOESN'T SEEM TO CARE AT ALL.

THE FM RADIO STATIONS GO IN AND OUT, IT ONLY HAPPENS IN THE RADIO MODE. IT HAPPENS WHEN YOUR DRIVING OR NOT.
1. ON 3 OCCASIONS (MOST RECENTLY 12-2-18) DURING BRAKING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGES ITSELF AND THE ENGINE CONTINUOUSLY ENGAGES THE STARTER. UNABLE TO PUT VEHICLE IN PARK TURN OFF THE STARTER AND AFTER ABOUT 30-60 SECONDS ABLE TO PUT INTO PARK AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. ON 12-2-18 I WAS SLOWING FOR A STOP LIGHT AND THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T ALLOW ME TO PUT THE HAZARD LIGHTS ON WHEN I COULDN'T GET THE STARTER TO DISENGAGE AND PUT INTO PARK TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. IT OCCURS WITHOUT WARNING AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE MUST BE PULLED UP. 2. THE BRAKES OFTEN SOUND LIKE THEY ARE RUBBING (NEEDING BRAKE PADS). 3. THE RADIO WILL RANDOMLY CHANGE FROM FM TO SIRIUS AND UNABLE TO TURN OFF/ON OR RETURN TO THE RADIO MENU. 4. THE RADIO VOLUME MOST OF TIME MUST BE AT 15 OR HIGHER TO LISTEN TO THE RADIO AND WILL RANDOMLY JUMP TO FULL VOLUME WHILE DRIVING. 5. THE ANDROID AUTO THAT I USE FOR NAVIGATION AND TELEPHONE WILL RANDOMLY SCROLL THROUGH THE TELEPHONE CONTACTS AND BEGIN CALLING. I HAVE TO UNPLUG THE PHONE TO STOP THIS.

WHILE DRIVING 80MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE WENT INTO COMPLETE FAILURE MODE. THE POWER IN THE VEHICLE FAILED, I WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO ACCELERATE. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO DODGE MY WAY THROUGH TRAFFIC AND GET OFF THE HIGHWAY AND INTO SAFETY. AFTER 48 HOURS AT THE DEALERSHIP, STILL NO OFFICIAL ROOT CAUSE OF WHY THE POWER FAILED.

I BOUGHT MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE LATTITUDE PLUS 4X4 AND FROM DAY ONE THE RADIO HAS ACTED UP. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES FOR THEM TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM THEY PUT IN A NEW RADIO ONE TIME, A ANTENNA, THE NEXT AND SAID THEY DID SOME REWIREING. WHAT HAPPENS IS WHEN I START MY VEHICLE EITHER THE RADIO WILL PLAY OR IT WONT ( WELL PLAYS BUT YOU CANT HEAR ANYTHING UNLESS YOU TURN THE VOLUME WAY UP ALL MOST MAXIMUM BEFORE YOU CAN START TO HEAR IT). AFTER EACH TIME THEY SAID THEY HAD IT FIXED. IT ALSO WHEN NOT WORKING WHEN YOU HIT SEARCH STATIONS IT WILL GO FROM 95.9 AND KEEP GOING WITH OUT STOPPING BACK TO 95.9 SO NO STATIONS ON SEARCH TO STOP ON.THEY SAID THEY ARE NOT SURE WHAT TO DO NEXT IF IT ACTS UP.SO AFTER BEING FRUSTRATED I DID A SEARCH ON MY JEEP AND FOUND THIS WEB PAGE WITH OTHER PEOPLE SOME WITH THE EXACT SAME VEHICLE AS MINE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I DID HAVE VIDEO BUT NOT SURE HOW TO GET IT OFF OF GOOGLE PHOTOS TO PUT ON HERE.THE RADIO ONLY DOES IT ON START UP AND MIGHT WORK THE NEXT TIME AND NOT THE NEXT OR WORK A FEW TIMES THEN NOT THE NEXT YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT WILL ACT UP. HERE IS THE WEBSITE WITH OTHERS HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS ME. RADIO CONTINUES TO GO IN AND OUT AFTER 4 TIMES AT THE DEALERSHIP. THIS PROBLEM DOES NOT OCCUR EVERY TIME THE CAR IS STARTED, BUT IT WILL BE IMMEDIATE WHEN YOU TURN THE CAR ON IF THE RADIO WILL WORK OR NOT. MY CAR HAS BEEN UPDATED WITH NEW PROGRAMS, NEW RADIO SYSTEM PUT IN, AND THE ISSUE IS STILL NOT RESOLVED. THE DEALERSHIP AT OLIVER C. JOSEPH IN BELLEVILLE, IL STATED THEY ARE NOT SURE WHAT THE ISSUE IS. I WILL BE TAKING MY CAR BACK IN FOR THE FIFTH TIME DUE TO THE RADIO ISSUE NOT BEING FIXED. ALSO, IF THE RADIO STARTS OUT WORKING PROPERLY WHEN THE CAR IS INITIALLY STARTED IT WILL NOT HAPPEN SUDDENLY. EITHER IT WORKS OR DOESN'T WORK WHEN THE CAR IS FIRST STARTED.

TAKARA RECALL MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE, LESS THE 6K MILES, CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I PULLED OVER TO FIND FLAMES IGNITING BY WHERE MY ENGINE MEETS THE TRANSMISSION. I QUICKLY PUT IT OUT WITH WATER. CONTACTED THE INSURANCE COMPANY FOR A CLAIM AN TOW. THE CALLED CRYSTER TO FILE A REPORT WITH THEM AS WELL. IT'S NOW A WEEK LATER, I'VE MISSED WORK AN HAVE NO RENTAL FROM CRYSTER AB ANY INFORMATION OTHER THEN IT'S BEING INVESTIGATED WHEN I WAS ASSURED IT WOULD TAKE 2-4 DAYS AFTER I MADE THE CLAIM.*DT CONSUMER STATED HOOD ERUPTED IN FLAMES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE VEHICLE ERUPTED INTO FLAMES. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND DISCOVERED SMOKE AND FLAMES COMING FROM THE ENGINE UNDER THE HOOD. THE CONTACT EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO ROUTE 1 CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF LAWRENCEVILLE (2700 BRUNSWICK PIKE, LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ 08648, (609) 454-6516), BUT THEY DENIED RESPONSIBILITY BECAUSE THERE WAS MUD ON THE UNDERCARRIAGE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED AND THE CASE WAS TO BE ASSIGNED AND INVESTIGATED BY A SPECIAL DIVISION. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.*DT*JB

THIS VEHICLE HAS TOO MANY SYSTEMS INTEGRATED INTO AND CONTROLLED BY A SINGLE COMPUTER. AFTER ONLY THREE WEEKS (LESS THAN 600 MILES) THE RADIO WOULD NOT TUNE CORRECTLY AND WOULD SOMETIMES TURN OFF THE HEATER WHEN CHANGING A STATION. THIS IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE BUT THE COMPUTER CONTROLLED TRANSMISSION STARTED TO MAKE NOTICEABLE NOISES AND VIBRATIONS DURING SHIFTS, STARTING AT THE SAME TIME WHILE DRIVING ON A MODERATE SPEED HIGHWAY . I BELIEVE THAT THE COMPUTER IS NO LONGER FUNCTIONING AS INTENDED AND MAY CAUSE UNANTICIPATED PERFORMANCE ANOMALIES WHICH COULD PROVIDE CHALLENGES FOR WHICH THE DRIVER IS UNPREPARED. IT APPEARS THAT FAR TOO MUCH COMPUTER CONTROL HAS BEEN ATTEMPTED ON THIS CAR AND THE TECHNOLOGY IS NEITHER PROVEN NOR RELIABLE.

MY CAR SHUT DOWN TWICE WHILE DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY. THERE WAS PLENTY OF GAS AND NO REASON FOR IT TO SHUT DOWN. ALL OF THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS FLASHED AND THEN THERE WAS NO ABILITY TO STEER OR CONTROL THE CAR. I HAD BREAK, SWITCH THE GEARS FROM DRIVE TO PARK AND THEN RESTART THE CAR. LUCKILY TRAFFIC WAS SLOWED OR ELSE MY CHILD AND I WOULD'VE BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE OIL WAS LOW AND IT COULD BE EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. THAT COULD HAVE LEAD TO THE STALLING. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS INVOLVED.

THIS IS IN REFERENCE TO MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE PLUS. THE RADIO FADES IN AND OUT MOST OF THE TIME. AFTER INITIAL STARTUP IT MAY OR MAY NOT WORK PROPERLY. IF IT DOES NOT WORK (FADES IN AND OUT) THEN IT WILL NOT CORRECT ITSELF. THE ONLY WAY TO POSSIBLY GET THE RADIO TO WORK PROPERLY WOULD BE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THEN IT MAY OR MAY NOT CORRECT ITSELF. THIS HAPPENS ON THE AM/FM STATIONS. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN WHILE USING SIRRUS RADIO. THIS OCCURS ABOUT 75% OF THE TIME ON STARTUP. 25% OF THE TIME IT WORKS PROPERLY. WHEN IT IS NOT WORKING, THERE IS ONLY ONE OR TWO STATIONS THAT WILL BE ABLE TO BE TUNED IF USING THE AUTO TUNING BUTTON. IT WILL TUNE TO THE ONE STATION (HOWEVER, IT STILL FADES IN AND OUT). THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE RADIO TO NO AVAIL. THEY ARE TRYING THE ANTENNA HOWEVER THERE ARE SEVERAL OWNERS WHO REPORT THAT DOES NOT WORK EITHER. ALTHOUGH THIS IS NOT NECESSARILY A SAFETY CONCERN IT IS STILL A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH MY $33,000 VEHICLE. WE NEED TO KNOW HOW TO GET THIS RECTIFIED. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE THE DAY I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE.
CAR WILL STALL WHILE IN MOTION AND COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS TO HAVE A NEW CAR STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY HAVE NO

MY RADIO CUTS IN AND OUT ON MOST FM STATIONS
MY CAR CONTINUES TO STALL INTERMITTENTLY. I RECEIVED MY CAR BACK FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ON 31-OCT-2019. LATER THAT DAY, ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK, MY CAR STALLED GOING APPROXIMATELY 25 MILES PER HOUR. THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER AND CAME TO A STOP ON THE 405 FREEWAY. I WAS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, WHICH MAY HAVE SAVED MY LIFE SINCE OTHER VEHICLES WERE DRIVING SLOW AND AT TIMES STOPPED. THIS ALLOWED ME SOME TIME WHILE I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. IT RE-STARTED AND I MADE IT HOME.
I HAD JUST PURCHASED MY VEHICLE THE DAY BEFORE. WHILE AT A STOP SIGN THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART AFTER RELEASING THE BRAKE. THE ENGINE STALLED, THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND A MESSAGE THAT READ TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK THEN BACK INTO GEAR. TRIED THAT SEVERAL TIMES, IF I RELEASED THE BRAKE IT WOULD ROLL BACK. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK SHUT THE IGNITION OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. ONCE I DID THAT THE VEHICLE RAN FINE. I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE, NO CODE CAME UP. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A BAD BATTERY. I DO ON OCCASION FEEL LIKE THE CAR IS GOING TO STALL WHILE DRIVING OR FROM A STOPPED POSITION.

FIRST WE WEREN'T ABLE TO TAKE VEHICLE HOME THE DAY WE SIGNED THE FINANCE PAPERS, 8/19/18, DUE TO BATTERY BEING DEAD. WE THEN PICKED UP CAR ON 8/20/18. KEPT VEHICLE TILL AROUND THE 23RD. THE JEEP CHEROKEE TURNED OFF IN TRAFFIC AND WENT INTO BATTERY PROTECTION MODE. WE HAD TO PUT CAR IN PARK AND RESTART. WE WERE ALMOST REAR-ENDED. I THEN CALLED DEALERSHIP TO TALK TO SALESMAN AND HE WAS BUSY SO I ASKED FOR MANAGER WHO THEN TOLD ME THAT THE SALESMAN WOULD CALL ME BACK. WHEN I TOLD SALESMAN ABOUT THE INCIDENT I WAS TOLD TO DRIVE WITH START-STOP FUNCTION OFF AND TO WAIT TILL NEXT DAY TO SEE IF IT DID IT AGAIN. THE VEHICLE DIDN'T START IN THE MORNING AND THEN TRIED SECOND TIME AND IT TURNED ON IN BATTERY PROTECTION MODE SO I TOOK IT IN TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS GIVEN A LOANER. WE THEN PICKED UP CHEROKEE ON OR AROUND 8/31/18. WE WERE TOLD THE BATTERY WAS RECHARGED. THE CHEROKEE THEN STARTED TO TURN OFF AGAIN IN TRAFFIC SO I TOOK IT BACK ON 9/5/18. I WAS GIVEN ANOTHER LOANER. I WAS THEN TOLD TO PICK UP CHEROKEE ON 9/18/18. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING AND COULDN'T RECREATE THE INCIDENT. EVER SINCE WE RECEIVED THE CHEROKEE BACK ON THE 18TH WE KEEP THE START-STOP FUNCTION OFF. NOW THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS KEEP COMING ON AND OFF AND THE GAS IS GOING AT A FASTER RATE THEN BEFORE. NOT SURE IF SENSORS ARE WORKING CORRECTLY. TOOK CAR BACK TO DEALERSHIP ON SUNDAY 10/14/18 AND WAS TOLD TO CALL SERVICE THE NEXT DAY BECAUSE THEY HAD NO LOANERS. TODAY 10/21/18 VEHICLE TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING OUT OF PARKING SPACE. CAR RESTARTED BUT DO NOT TRUST DRIVING THIS VEHICLE WITH MY FAMILY INSIDE. THERE HAS BEEN SEVERAL TIMES THE VEHICLE DIDN'T ACCELERATE WHILE STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL.

DRIVING THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE BUILDING UNDERGROUND PARKING GARAGE THE VEHICLE STOPPED MOVING SUDDENLY AND STARTING GOING BACKWARD I PUT THE EMERGENCY BREAK ON RESTARTED THE ENGINE RELEASED THE BREAK BUT IT DIDN'T RESPOND SO I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST PARKING SPACE IN THE PARKING LOT TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE THE ENGINE WOULD START BUT BOTH BREAKING SYSTEM IS ON AND WOULDN'T RELEASEAND STEERING WHEEL IS NOT TURNING. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY GAVE ME THE NUMBER FOR THE JEEP TOWING SERVICE. THE VEHICLE WENT IN TO THE DEALERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT THE TOLD ME THE ALTERNATOR IS OVER CHARGING AND NEEDS A NEW PART THEY REPLACED THE PART THEY THEN INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT WORKING STILL AND THEY ARE NOT SURE WHAT'S WRONG YET.

THE CAR STALLS WHILE DRIVING AT LOW AND HIGH SPEEDS. THE ENGINE WILL ATOP COMPLETELY AND THE CAR ROLLS BACK OR BEGINS TO DRIVE BACKWARDS WHEN IT'S RESTARTED. THIS IS A REAL SAFETY CONCERN AS I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT 4 TIMES NOW DUE TO THE CAR STALKING IN ATOP AND GO TRAFFIC AND ANOTHER TIME WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS. ALSO, THE CAR APPEARS TO CHUG OR HESITATE TO CHANGE GEARS. IT'S IS SLOW TO PICK UP SPEED AND AT TIMES, IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE. THE RADIO FLUCTUATES IN VOLUME LEVEL CONSTANTLY REGARDLESS OF THE PROGRAMMING AND IT'S SO BAD THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN USE IT. I'M CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF, MY CHILDREN AND OTHERS AS WELL. CHRYSLER APPEARS TO HAVE NO CONCERNS. UNLESS SOMEONE DIES, I'M AFRAID THIS ISSUE WILL NOT BE RESOLVED.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, SLOWED DOWN TO A STOP SIGN AND THE CAR WENT DEAD (NOT THE BUTTON PROBLEM), THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. I DRIFTED TO THE SIDE, PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTARTED, THEN WENT AGAIN. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I WAS TOO AFRAID TO DRIVE IT, IT HAD 3000 MILES ON IT, THEY TOLD ME IT WAS OUT OF OIL. THEY PUT OIL IN IT AND GAVE IT BACK TO ME. IT HAPPENED AGAIN, THIS TIME WITH OIL IN IT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY DROVE IT AND SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM AND GAVE IT BACK TO ME. THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT IT WAS.

I WAS DRIVING MY 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE LATITUDE AND MAKING A TURN TO THE LEFT, AS I TURNED, MY CAR SHUT OFF. I HAD TO DRIFT TO THE SIDE, PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTART. THEN IT TOOK OFF. I AM SO SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR. I IMMEDIATELY WENT HOME AND CALL JEEP. THEY OPENED A CLAIM, BUT I HAVE TO TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP. MY DAUGHTER WAS WITH ME AND SINCE IT HAD ALSO HAPPENED TO HER, SHE IMMEDIATELY TOOK A PICTURE AT THE MOMENT IT SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS TURNING. I HAVE ATTACHED THE PICTURE. MY CAR ONLY HAS 10,000 MILES ON IT.

TAKARA RECALL JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE A MONTH AGO AND IT'S HAS BEEN TURNING OFF ON FEW TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY FAMILY. IT'S NOT AWHILE I'M AT THE STOP SIGN OR LIGHT, IT'S WHILE I'M ACTUALLY DRIVING. I HAD TO PRESS THE BUTTON AGAIN IN ORDER TO TURN BACK ON

CAR STOPS MOVING WHILE IN MOTION. THE FIRST TIME (JULY 6, 2018), I WAS PULLING INTO A LOCAL PIZZA HUT FOR MY LUNCH BREAK AND AS I TURN INTO THE DIRVEWAY, THE CAR STOPS ACCELERATING AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON; WHEN PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL TO GET FURTHER INTO THE PARKING LOT, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT MOVE AT ALL. I HAD TO PUT MY HAZARDS ON AND TURRN THE VEHICLE OFF THEN BACK ON AGAIN IN ORDER TO GET IT TO MOVE WHILE PUSHING THE GAS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED TURNED ON FOR 1-2 DAYS AND I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT FAR. THEN IT MAGICALLY WENT OFF AS I WAS TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP (WHICH I LIVE APPROX. 1.5 HOURS FROM) TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. IT WAS AT THE SHOP FOR 2 DAYS. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND AN ISSUE WITH IT AND "RELEARNED" THE SYSTEM. THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED (AUGUST 27, 2018), I WAS PULLING INTO MY LOCAL TACO BELL FOR MY LUNCH BREAK AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED AS BEFORE BUT INSTEAD OF MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON, MY BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. JUST AS THE FIRST TIME, WHEN THIS HAPPENED THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE WHILE PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL DOWN, SO AGAIN I HAD TO TURN MY HAZARDS ON, PUT IT IN PARK, TURN IT OFF, THEN BACK ON AGAIN IN ORDER TO GET THE VEHICLE TO MOVE. THE BATTERY LIGHT DID NOT STAY ON. IT HAS NOW BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 3 DAYS AND I CAN PICK IT UP TOMORROW. THEY RAN A 4.5 HOUR TEST ON IT AND ALSO TEST DROVE IT SOME AND COULD NOT GET IT TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. AGAIN, THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING AT ALL WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND AGAIN THEY "RELEARNED" THE SYSTEM. I HAVE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET MY VEHICLE OFF THE HIGHWAY (BARELY), WHICH IS A COMPLETE DANGER; WHAT IF THE NEXT TIME IT HAPPENS, I AM UNABLE TO DO SO? I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY BRAND NEW CAR, ESPECIALLY WITH MY SON IN IT. I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL ONLINE FORUMS WHERE PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. SOMETHING IS GOING ON AND IT IS DANGEROUS.

I WAS IN MOTION APPROACHING A RIGHT TURN AND THE VEHICLE DIED ON ME WITHOUT ANY WARNING, IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. AFTER PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK, IT TOOK 5 TRIES TO GET THE ENGINE TO TURN OVER. THAT WAS A HORRIFYING EXPERIENCE AND THE DEALER CLAIMS TO KNOW NOTHING. *DT\ CONSUMER STATED VEHICLE STALLED ALL OF THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON. UPDATED 10/2/18*JB

VEHICLE IS SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING AND EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. ONCE AT 30MPH, AND AT 50 MPH. LUCKILY I DID NOT WRECK OR HIT SOMEONE. THIS VEHICLE ISN'T SAFE TO DRIVE. SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE KILLED IF THIS IS NOT FIXED. THIS SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO A RECENT RECALL BY FCA AFFECTING OTHER 2019 JEEP CHEROKEE MODELS. THAT STATES: THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE MAY FAIL AND THE CUSTOMER WILL EXPERIENCE A NO START, A START AND IMMEDIATE STALL CONDITION, OR ENGINE STALL WHILE DRIVING.
Mileage: 10,000
THE CAR STALLS WHILE DRIVING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE ENGINE TURNS OFF AND THERE IS NO POWER ON THE DASHBOARD. THIS WILL HAPPEN REGARDLESS OF OIL LEVELS, EVEN THOUGH THE CAR HAS ALWAYS HAD THE PROPER OIL LEVEL. IT TAKES ABOUT 5 MINUTES TO TURN ON AGAIN WHEN YOU ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET/FREEWAY WITH TRAFFIC BEHIND. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO FIND A PROBLEM, BUT IT KEEPS HAPPENING ON A DAILY BASIS.
Mileage: 3,500
THE AUTO START/STOP FEATURE KICKS IN AS NORMAL, HOWEVER THE CAR DOES NOT START BACK AFTER DOING SO. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME BUT HAPPENS OFTEN ENOUGH TO CAUSE ISSUES, LIKE IN TRAFFIC, AND ON SLOPS. THE BRAKES LOCK UP, AND I HAVE MORE THAN ONCE STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. ALL GEARS FLASH ON THE DISPLAY, AND I MUST CYCLE THE KEY TO FIX THE ISSUE. POSSIBLY RELATED TO THE UNDERLYING ISSUE, BUT NOT THE START/STOP FEATURE, IF THE CAR IS IN NEUTRAL FOR ANY PERIOD OF TIME, SUCH AS WHEN BEING PULLED THROUGH A CAR WASH, THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENS. WHEN I TRY TO SHIFT BACK INTO DRIVE TO PULL OUT OF THE CAR WASH, THE D FLASHES ON THE DISPLAY, NOTHING HAPPENS, NO MATTER HOW MUCH TIME I SPEND TRYING TO GET IT TO REGISTER, WHICH HONESTLY ISN'T MUCH, I HAVE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR WASH QUICKLY, NOTHING HAPPENS. I'M LEFT ONCE AGAIN HAVING TO CYCLE THE KEY AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. EVERY SINGLE TIME AFTER THE ISSUE HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN NEUTRAL, THE START STOP ISSUE OCCURS ON THE FIRST INSTANCE OF IT BEING ENGAGED. THE DEALERSHIP DOESN'T SEEM TO CARE, WOULDN'T EVEN TAKE A COPY OF MY VIDEO, AND ARE PUTTING SO MANY MILES ON MY BRAND NEW VEHICLE TO "REPLICATE" THE ISSUE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE EARLY JULY, AND JEEP NOR CHRYSLER SEEMS TO HAVE ANY ANSWERS AS THEY'VE "NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE".
