Jeep Commander 4x4 Years to Avoid
The 2007 model year is the most problematic Commander and should be avoided. Ten fatalities are associated with the Commander line. The 4.7L V8 suffered from numerous engine problems including valve seat failures. Electrical issues, particularly with TIPM modules, caused random malfunctions. Transmission problems affected multiple years. Fuel system concerns and brake issues were also documented.
Best Jeep Commander 4x4 Years
The 2009 model year represents the most refined Commander after several years of improvements. 2010 models are also reasonable choices for the final year. The 5.7L Hemi V8 is more reliable than the problematic 4.7L. These later years still require diligent inspection but offer better prospects.
