Unknown / Check engine lights came on, and then a warning saying stop safely, the engine will shut down soon, now it will not start. Leaving me stranded. This happened multiple times but now the car won’t start and will need to be towed. I have asked several repair shops and done research online, and nobody knows how to fix this issue.

The contact was eventually able to start the vehicle and drove to a parking lot, after which the vehicle was towed to a dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 83,000.

I was driving and my car just stalled and I could not get it to start again. I have had this happen to me over 4 times. My car is currently at the Jeep Dealer and they charged me over $700 telling me it was wiring. It happened again on 11/24/2025 and they have had my car since then and they keep telling me they cannot figure out what was wrong with it. Today they called me and said it was a circuit thing. There was a recall for exactly what was happening to my car. NHTSA Recall 18v-524 just that my car was not recalled. I am now going 2 weeks without a car and it clearly is experiencing EXACTLY what the recall says. over 3 times I was on the highway when the car stalled while I was driving. It just stopped in the middle of the highway the car behind me had to stop short. I had a bad panic attack. Why are they not doing the right thing and fixing what they know they have to fix. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I MAKE A COMPLAINT THROUGH YOU.

Shifting assembly failed. When the service center went to order it, it was heavily backordered (meaning many people with this Make / Model experiencing the same failure at the same time). Service center showed me that a thin rubber gasket is all that failed … it is no more substantial than a rubber washer you put in a water hose). Why a $500 part for a $0.50 failure? (Perhaps that is the service center taking advantage.) But even still why would Jeep put such a cheap part in such a critical location where it can break and become dislodged and result in you losing control of your vehicle drive train? Something feels very wrong about this.

Description of Problem: Since purchase, this vehicle has exhibited severe safety defects, including sudden and repeated engine shutdowns at highway speeds, loss of power while driving, dashboard malfunctions, steering lockups, service ESC, dynamic steering torque service required, service hill holder, false fuel gauge readings, service airbag reading, transmission warming sign, and emergency brake engagement without command. These failures have occurred multiple times and forced me off the road to avoid collisions. They mirror known recalls on this model year and create a clear risk of injury or death. Attempts to Repair: The selling dealer (Coral Springs Pre-Owned Superstore) and an authorized Jeep dealer (Arrigo Jeep in Margate, FL and Arrigo Jeep Tamarac,FL) have repeatedly failed to identify or repair the issues despite video evidence. They claim they cannot replicate the malfunctions, though the vehicle continues to fail monthly. Safety Concern: The Jeep Compass shuts down without warning at highway speeds, leaving me stranded in traffic. This is an immediate hazard and should be investigated as a systemic defect. Requested Action: Investigation into recalls/defects on the 2018 Jeep Compass, enforcement of repairs, and accountability for dealerships that continue to sell unsafe vehicles.

The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle was still losing motive power. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled and was difficult to shift into park(P). The contact stated that several attempts were needed to restart the vehicle. However, when the contact shifted into drive(D) the vehicle still lost motive power and almost stalled. The contact drove the vehicle back to the residence and it was difficult to shift into park(P). The contact was unable to restart the vehicle and called a towing service. The contact was informed by the tow truck operator that the 12-Volt battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact stated that the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the residence and the contact was informed that the 12-Volt battery and the START/STOP battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the contact stated that the failure reoccurred. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer. The dealer performed a preliminary diagnostic test and advised the contact that there were several electrical failures and that a comprehensive diagnostic test was needed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 107,000.

Transmission hard shift especially when cold. Makes grinding noise when shifting into 3rd. We have not taken it to a dealer cause we bought it used and it’s 62 thousand miles on the car and 60 thousand is supposedly the limit for the warranty. Car has also stalled while making turns to the left or sometimes when driving straight. At highway speeds when I have gone and tried to accelerate more I push the accelerator down and nothing happens. Then all of a sudden the car takes off with a jerk and I have to hit the brakes cause it was not expected. Auto engine shutoff failure light comes on for no reason. Continually get number 4 cylinder misfire check engine warning which disappears after the car is restarted. Consumes oil like nothing I have ever seen always adding oil. Can’t check the transmission fluid level cause manufacturer did not put a dipstick for the transmission so I have to take it to the dealer to see if that is low. Don’t need the cost just for them to tell me it’s fine.

I was at a red light and when the light turned and I put on the gas my car stalled. I could not shut off the car, it has a push button engine. The motor was off but on the dashboard it said the car was on and all of the electrical systems were still running (heat, radio, lights, etc). When I pushed the engine button, the car would not turn off. The parking break turned on by itself. I could not push my car to the side of the road. I was in the middle of traffic. I had to call for the police and for a tow truck. We still could not get the car to turn off (the motor was not on but the car's electrical system was still on). We could not disengage the parking break. Finally the tow truck operator slammed the break pedal down and he was able to turn off the car. The car then started. We still towed it to the Jeep Dealership. The could not find anything wrong with the car. Approximately two weeks earlier, the same thing happened at a red light but at that time, after I waited for 10minutes I was able to get the car to turn off then on. My car has two new batteries (put in one year ago), new front breaks, new tires. The day this happened, I had actually just left Jeep from getting my oil changed. they said it was not related to that.

I own a 2018 Jeep Compass. My car has been stalling and going dead when stopping at stop signs/lights, when slowing to turn, and when entering on-ramps to a highway. Other issues that have occurred simultaneously (but not necessarily all at once) include, start/stop not working, the parking brake engaging when stopping, sound system unavailable message (despite that the radio works properly) and the car does not restart immediately when hitting ignition. These issues have been ongoing for approximately one month. The problem initially started with the parking brake engaging when coming to a stop. In order to disengage the brake, the car had to be turned off and then back on again. Then the car started to stall when slowing and stopping. In the latest occurrence, my car stalled 3 separate times within a 10 mile drive. On the 3rd stall, we were turning left to enter the highway when the car stalled suddenly. The car behind us had to slam on their brakes and swerve to miss hitting us. We took our car to the dealership on December 17th. At that time they replaced the cars main battery, but audio system unavailable message remained on, to which the service advisor said we should probably replace the radio, despite that the radio is functioning properly. We took the car with us December 18th. In less than 48 hours the car was stalling at almost every stop again. We returned the car to our dealership on December 26th, where it remains as of January 1. The dealership said, via phone, they have been unable to pinpoint the problem, at this time. It is extremely dangerous for a car to stall when it should otherwise be in motion. This puts myself, my son, our passengers and those around us in danger. This is an issue that warrants immediate attention and we welcome an inspection if someone could just identify the problem and fix it before someone is hurt.

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, both the driver and passenger side rear windows would roll down independently. The contact also stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would stall as several warning lights would appear on the instrument panel. The contact called the dealer about the failure and was given an estimate for a diagnostic. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who failed to diagnose the failure. The contact then stated that while driving in inclement, icy weather; the vehicle began to slide upon the depression of the brake pedal while approaching a stop light. As the vehicle began to slide, the vehicle shut off without warning. The contact lost complete control of the vehicle as the vehicle crashed into a light pole. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact did not sustain any injuries. A police report was filed and the light pole was knocked down as a result of the impact. The vehicle was towed from the scene to the contact's grandmother's home where it remained in their possession. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 87,000.

3 years ago the first problem started. If my car was idle for more than 15 minutes the SERVICE TRANSMISSION & CHECK ENGINE lights would turn on. I made an appointment at Jeep but could not be helped because the light turned off the next day. I was advised this would not be covered because I had 32,000 miles on the car. Last month as I was driving on the. Freeway my SERVICE TRANSMISSION & CHECK ENGINE lights turned own. The car slowed down. I pulled off the freeway and turned the car off. After 20 minutes i turned it back on and the TRANSMISSION light turned off and only the CHECK ENGINE stayed on. This has now happened twice. I took my car to a transmission shop and was advised to contact the manufacturer as this is a factory issue. Code P1dd2.

Seat heat turns on and off randomly by itself. Screen does not always work. Transmission jumped, service transmission came on. Took to dealer. They said updates to the computer system needed done and charged me $450 saying they were not covered by the warranty I bought from Mopar. If updates are required to keep you and your passengers safe how are they not free of charge and charge you almost $500 for these updates? Had I been on the interstate and not a side road my son and I could have been badly injured due to this problem. I will never purchase another car “American Made” again.

I will be driving at any speed and the engine will lose power and stall. Very similar conditions as the U87 recall. I have had my vehicle at the Jeep dealership multiple times and still have yet to fix the issue. When the vehicle loses power and stalls I pull over however sitting on the side of any road is dangerous, that if I can get the compass over to the side of the road.

I purchased the vehicle on [XXX] from Mall Chevy in Cherry Hill NJ. From the first day, i was getting an intermittent A! warning for the vehicle start/stop function. The vehicle would feel like it is trying to turn off when not active. Finally on [XXX], it stayed on. The entire time i have been trying to get the dealership to fix it, they refused to look at it. The transmission keeps slipping, jerking forward and back, wants to take off at a stop. They refuse to acknowledge. I finally took it to Performance Dodge in Woodbury NJ, they determined it was a defective IBS( Intelligent battery sensor). Then a BCM issue was determined and 2 wires had insulation exposed, an OHMED was needed as well as HVAC and DTCM updates. It still needs ABS and TCM module work. CAR HAS BEEN STOPPING WHILE DRIVING ON MAJOR ROADWAYS. REQUIRES A RESTART IN THE MIDDLE OF A HIGHWAY AND DOES NOT EVEN MAKE IT TO THE ROADSIDE TO RESTART. UPON BRINGING IT IN TO BE CHECKED, IT HAD 0 BUT NO REPORTED LEAK AND OIL LIGHT DID NOT TURN ON. PURCHASED USED JUST 2 MONTHS AGO AND ONLY DROVE 6K MILES. WAS TOLD TO CHANGE OIL EVERY 5K MILES BECUASE THIS MODEL CONSUMES EXCESSIVE OIL. I SEARCHED AND FOUND THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE HOWEVER MY VIN # DOES NOT SHOW A RECALL.

With absolutely zero prior indication of a problem, the car became completely immobilized in drive while attempting to turn after being stopped at a traffic light on a busy four lane road. Every imaginable code was cycling through on the dash and all warning code lights came on. I was unable to shift the car into any gear. Meaning, I could not shift into neutral to push the car safely out of the way of traffic. Additionally the car could not be turned off. I could not roll down the windows and the touchscreen was inoperable. After approximately 6-8 minutes I was able to shift into neutral to push the car to a safer area. The same immobilization issue happened 3 days later after the battery and alternator were replaced. This time, I put the car in reverse and it became immobilized in exactly the same way. The car turned itself off after approximately 10 minutes and was towed to the dealership where it has been for 30 days. The dealership scanned the codes on the car and the result was 300+ error codes. The dealer cannot diagnose the problem but they have been able to replicate the issue. The car is well maintained and there were no warning messages or other symptoms of any problem prior to the first incident January 27, 2024. The car remains at the dealer and it is available for inspection.

SUV has died several times for no reason. Taken to dealership several times. They laugh and say it’s normal for this compass. Engine oil is constantly low and they say that it’s common for oil to just disappear on these suvs. Nothing can be recreated at the dealership each time. I’ve been driving down the road with two kids in the car and traffic behind me and the car just dies and doesn’t want to restart. This morning my heater stopped working. No lights came on. No sensors went off. Car was out of coolant and not one single low sensor light came on. Oil has to be added in between each 3000 mile oil change. Seat has broken twice. No sensors for oil low. No sensors for coolant. Nothing to let you know your engine is 3.5 quarts low of oil before the 3000 mile oil change is due. It’s bad when the dealership knows all of this and it’s considered normal to spend $28000 on a vehicle which has all these issues! Now there is a popping noise when you turn the wheels and i see the lower control arms are on recall but not for mine. Engine oil issue is on recall but not for mine. Is it going to take someone getting killed when their car stalls out before anything is done? I’ve also had to replace the batteries already last year and now my auto start stop system has quit working again. Last time this happened it was the battery. So I’m going to have to replace it again. Worst vehicle I’ve ever had.

Car is intermittently stalling, power steering intermittently failing and all service lights come on at one time, took to a non Jeep dealership they diagnosed as a TIPM failure and told me to take it to a Jeep dealership , took to two Jeep dealerships and they said since the issue wasn’t happening while the vehicle is in their care there’s nothing they can do about it.

Received notice for excessive oil consumption recall. Took to dealer to fix recalls. Realized nothing is noted of Jeep excessive oil consumption. Constant oil changes and adding oil. Just got another oil change, all filters changed, drove a couple hundred miles. Oil is low. Car has stalled on me in intersection with my baby in backseat. Had to get pushed to side of road. Engine feels shakey/vibrates randomly but often since I purchased brand new. Engine and fan EXCESSIVELY LOUD with no AC and sometimes in am when just started. No weather conditions to affect that. Check engine would be on then turn off. Auto shop would check it and say everything is good. But it’s clearly not and I’ve been dealing with these issues since I purchased. I shouldn’t stress on my vehicle because I don’t feel safe with my baby. Traveling shouldn’t drain oil. Thank you for your help.

Latest incident (7/21/23) resulted in check engine light code: P1DD2 - “Torque Request Signal from TCM denied”. Check engine light came on - Jeep felt like it was going to stall. For several months now, I’ve had intermittent issues with the Jeep “shifting” on its own while driving without me touching the shifter. I then get an alert that I can’t change gears while driving & I have to pull over to try to resolve the issue. This has happened to me several times but when I’ve reported it, the mechanic / Jeep dealer couldn’t make the issue happen again. In addition, since owning this Jeep, the most I can drive is 3000 miles before needing an oil change. My oil is being “burned through”. Most recently I didn’t even make it 1000 miles after an oil change without losing atleast 2-3 quarts of oil. Not sure why this is happening as I should be able to go between 5k-6k miles between oil changes.

While at a stop light, my vehicle moved into "stop" mode and as the light turned green and I attempted to resume driving the vehicle attempted to go back into "start" mode and shut down completely. I could not press down fully on the break nor turn on my hazards. THe dashboard flickered, but never shut off. Given that this happened at a busy intersection, it was quite dangerous and I was fearful that I would get hurt.

While driving the "coolant temperature high" warning message occasionally pops up and it shows that the temperature is as high as it can go on the temperature meter. It will then shut my engine down and not allow me to resume driving until I completely turn my car off and back on again. After turning it back on, my coolant temperature always reads completely normal between 190-200 degrees Fahrenheit. This problem has occurred multiple times including while I have been on the interstate, in the middle of an intersection, and in heavy traffic. My safety has been severely put at risk multiple times as my car has stopped moving while I was in the process of turning in an intersection and risked being hit from behind and from the side. I have also been in heavy interstate traffic and have been unable to pull-over before my car fully stops moving which puts me at high risk of being hit. I have taken my car to the dealership to have it looked at and they ran diagnostics which showed that there has never been an issue with my coolant system. They have since done an electrical diagnostic as well with which they could not find an issue relating to the coolant system. They replaced my auxiliary battery as they believed it was bad and could have been the cause of my electrical issues and this seemed to cause the issue to go away for a month and a half, but then it started occurring again. The issue also occurs very spontaneously and I have not noticed any signs prior to the issue occurring. Given that it could potentially be days, weeks, or a month before the issue reoccurs, the dealership has not been able to witness the error message or what happens. This issue has occurred on and off for about a year and a half but has started occurring more frequently lately with about seven occurrences in the past five months, the most recent being a significant concern for my safety with my car stopping in an intersection while turning during rush hour.

On 2/6 I was driving down the road and my coolant tempature went from the middle all the way to high. My car turned off and locked up and then turned back on. This happened again on 2-9 and 2-13. The dealership said the electric, wires, coolant sensor, and coolant system were fine. There were no air bubbles, leaks or gas seeping into the coolant system.

My 2018 Jeep Compass started out having minor issues that I just blew off at first. First thing I noticed after purchasing it new was the cruise control wouldn't allow me to set speed. It only happened randomly, now its every other time the jeep starts up. Then my back up camera started going black. It worked more times than not. Well, time goes by and now the whole touch screen is black, or white lines, upside down, and sometimes just rolls then completely black. Another day, my oil change light came on, (2000 miles before it was due) and the parking brake engaged itself and cut off. It wouldn't start back up for about 3 mins. I checked the oil level and it was way below the oil pressure gauge. So i added oil and it seemed to fix the issue. Which brings us up to date until today, my car was sitting still in a parking lot for about 15 mins. All of a sudden the dash clutter turns red with the message Transmission needs service. I cut the jeep off and turned it back on and when reversing, it jumped and knocked really hard and when put in drive wouldn't accelerate above 30 mph. I pulled into auto zone and had them read the check engine light and the code said P1DD2-TORQUE request singal from TCM Denied. Most likely solution: REPROGRAM ELECTRONIC SHIFT MODULE (ESM) POWERTRAIN SYSTEM.

After being serviced by my vehicle’s dealership only a month earlier (and still well within the powertrain warranty), my vehicle suddenly stalled and shut off in the middle of the freeway during peak morning traffic. I narrowly escaped being hit by a semi-truck from behind and had to quickly pull over to the side of the freeway as safely as I could. I’ve taken my vehicle to several mechanics who could find nothing wrong with my vehicle, save the open recall on similar models (though not my VIN in particular, which I do believe to be an error) involving an issue with the powertrain and an electrical chip. This vehicle has been thoroughly maintained with regular service intervals, yet somehow will randomly stall and shut off when driving. It is dangerous and discouraging.

All lights randomly flashed on dash then the vehicle stalled in the middle of traffic. This is the third time it has happened, and the dealership had claimed to have fixed it. Just had brand new batteries installed to ensure sufficient voltage, and it still happened. 32k miles.

Drove the vehicle I purchased and the lights on the dash board began to illuminate at 2500 miles. The u connect would go black, the dash lights air bags, emergency break, cruise control, etc would illuminate. The the car would shift out of gear automatically put in park flashing, and die in the middle of the freeway without warning, has happened like 3 times, now I am scared to drive it due to the safety of myself and others. I would have to restart the car and it would jerk, then be fine. The hood light would display hood open when it isn't and multiple other lights. Told the wiring harness is melted causing the problems. I was driving my 2018 Jeep Compass in February 2022 and had received no warning of critically low oil pressure, then my car shut itself off in an intersection and the parking brake automatically engaged, then the critically low oil warning came on. I got an oil change and they said it wasn't leaking oil. In mid-July the same issue occurred again, my car shut itself off while I was driving and engaged the parking break and I got a critically low oil warning. Had it towed to a shop and they told me I was down 4 quarts of oil even though I should not have needed another oil change for another 3,000 miles. Carfax states campain number W20, which addresses this issue but it does not appear to have ever been addressed. Had I been driving on the highway and my car turned off and engaged the parking brake automatically I could have been severely injured or killed, and put other drivers at risk. When my vehicle did shut off it was right in the middle of an intersection, which of course is also extremely dangerous as I could have been hit. The potential extensive damage to my engine from not having enough oil in my engine is also a factor I would like to mention. I am having the vehicle looked at today 7/27/22 at North Olmsted Chrystler Jeep Dodge Ram to hopefully address the issue.

There are so many issues I hope I can get it to fit. I love my jeep but after reading all these problems. Having all of them but showing no recalls. I am frustrated. My car is unsafe. It has left me stranded time and time again. And all I do is put money in it. Something needs to be done about it. 1. Since week 5 of owning my 2018 compass I have been told the alignment is terrible. I have replaced tires over 10 times due to wearing down on the inside before reaching 20k miles. 2. Massive oil consumption. I have a constant oil burning smell inside my vehicle when the ac is on and off. Oil is visible under the hood. My car is very well maintained. Checked daily because it goes so fast. 3. The engine runs so hot you can feel it inside at the floor. 4. The transmission overheats constantly. I drive in no traffic. 5. My main issue now. It just decided to shut off as I was picking my mom up. I was just diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and have a colostomy. My jeep left me stranded in 104 degree weather. 100 miles from home. This is my only vehicle. To and from chemo I'm worried it's not going to start. I bought a jumper because I have had to ask for a jump 100000 times. The headlights dim the battery jumps down to 11.4. ever code goes off possible. It is dangerous. 6. The check engine light comes on randomly. The car dies. Won't start. Then 20 miles later it will start fine. Then it won't 7. I have multiple engine faults. They say it is not recalled. I can provide a lot more information. If I can get some answers and help.

My car has 58,000 miles on it, I purchased it with 20,000 certified pre owned. I have noticed engine noises since around 40,000 miles. I was driving down the road a week ago and the Jeep Compass sport 2018 had shut completely off on me while driving and I never had any warning light. After getting the car to start about 2 minutes later my control screen gave me a low oil pressure message. I immediately took it for an oil change, I was still not due for. I still had at least 1,000 miles on my oil. I asked them if it was low and it was almost empty. I also had the sway bar links replaced already and my car still shakes, it feels to me, like the control arm. The dealership has me scheduled 2 weeks out and hasn’t offered me a rental, this engine issue is a clear hazard. I am still under manufacturing warranty and bought the extended warranty. Jeep knows about this issue specifically and knows it’s dangerous, and should not be driven.

The automatic start stop function constantly goes out, TCM unable to send signal to transmission to shift. Caused the car to stall in an intersection and self applied the emergency brake at around 5mph causing the vehicle to jerk to a halt. Car inexplicably throws service engine code and then transmission downshifts to 30mph from higher speeds nearly causing wreck.

On 2 separate occasions, my Jeep Compass has stalled completely shutting off, emergency brake engages on it's own and the steering wheel locks and the vehicle will not restart immediately. I have been on slight upward grades both times and vehicle starts shifting backwards as I attempt to get it restarted and it would not restart immediately either time. Vehicle had to be put in park, I had to wait atleast a minute if not 2 or 3 to get it to restart. Had I been in higher traffic areas or on a highway, this could have caused a major accident. Jeep dealers near me are backed up on service dates telling me they can't get it in for atleast a month and a half so I took it to a local certified mechanic who said nothing is throwing a code and drove it, but this didn't occur while they had it, so there was nothing they could do for me. I'm scared it will happen again and next time I might be in a higher traffic situation. I've read numerous other complaints like this online after searching the issue but I don't see any resolutions.

While parked for maybe 10 minutes, the service engine and service transmission lights dinged. When putting in reverse it shifted really hard and felt like the car jumped. No problem going in reverse, but would not accelerate very well, couldn’t go over 30-35mph. Going on 2 days now! The code we’ve gotten is “P1DD2”, but no one seems to know what it means. Taking it in Monday morning. Very frustrating and not safe at all!! I’ve read several issues of the same incident(s).

While driving down the road going 55mph, my car suddenly stalled with the "Service Transmission" and "Service Engine" lights and messages appearing. The car would not accelerate. Once safely stopped on the side of the road, the car shifted heavily in park. In order for my car to safely drive, we had to sit with the car off for several minutes. Once cranked again, the service transmission light went off and it would shift into gear without any grinding noise but the Service engine light stayed on. This is the SAME ISSUE REPORTED AND RECALLED with the PCM Voltage Regulator Chip. It has done this FIVE TIMES while driving down the road, and countless others while idling in park. This is a safety hazard. Though the VIN dictates it is not part of the recall, my car clearly is.

My jeeps auto start stop has had issues since the day I got it. Ive taken it back to jeep servicing multiple times and all they do is resent the card computer. The car still moves while in park, the car shuts off while driving on the highway (55mph) it slows down, shuts off and does start for a few mins. The entire right passenger side wheel broke off the car. The car jumps forward which cause a accident back in 2018-2019 a few months right after getting the car. I have had several lights flash on my dash (I have videos) and car would not start without a jump start. I took it to a dealership that told me I needed two new batteries (needing these because the vehicle ruined the two I had). I took my vehicle to a battery store for them to install batteries, as soon as I left the pull over safely the car is going to shit down came on, on highway I finally found a place but not before the car started putting several warming lights on and check engine light on again, then lurching slowing to no acceleration and stopping in the middle of the road no power, none not even enough to power the door locks. This is the 3rd attempt at fixing this issue without any help from Chrysler that my Vin should be included in the U87 recall I have the same engine and problems. The dealership (Victory Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram) refused to actually fox the issue. Then told me because I did not buy the Mopar brand batteries that why my vehicle nearly killed my family, AGAIN.

I have been lied to by your staff every single time I have called, I am hopeful to get the class action lawsuit that so many states have going on in Missouri as well. My vehicle is extremely dangerous and going to kill my family it will be your fault it, I will ensure that an attorney is well aware of the lack of empathy, the lack of action your company has done, and downright refusal to do the necessary repairs to make my vehicle safe.

In April my vehicle started stalling when I would turn the corner. Then it died when my son and I were going down the highway at full speed. It just stopped running I had no power to move anymore. Then it would not sure off so I could start it again, now it is hit or miss if it will start I had to buy a jump box so I could go to the store or work. Today the auto start light came on, I am in fear for my families safety. I have reported it to Chrysler multiple times, taken my vehicle to two different dealerships all refusing to help the second dealer refuses to look at it to determine what the issue could be without me paying them first. I am scare we are going to stall again in the highway and get killed. Please help.

I HAVE A 2018 JEEP COMPASS LATITUDE AND ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS HAVE HAD THE CAR STALL AT RED LIGHTS WHEN SHUTTING OFF FROM BRAKING, WHEN RELEASING MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE THE CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE WITH OTHER VEHICLES BEHIND ME. IN THESE INSTANCES I HAVE HAD TO PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND THEN POWER IT OFF AND RESTART IT AS THE QUICKEST FIX. THIS HAS ALSO HAPPENED TO ME IN DRIVE THRUS WHILE STOPPING TO PAY AND AT STOP SIGNS, ALL DOING THE SAME THING AFTER BRAKING AND THE AUTOMATIC START/STOP ENGAGING. THE OTHER ISSUE I HAVE HAD HAS OCCURED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD/HIGHWAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME THREE TIMES NOW. IN ONE INSTANCE I WAS GOING 30 MPH AND MY CAR JUST STOPPED ACCELERATING AND THE POWER STIRRING NO LONGER WOULD WORK, THE SCREEN DISPLAYED A MESSAGE SAYING TO PUT MY VEHICLE IN PARK AND THAT MY VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE STARTED BEFORE IT COULD BE SHIFTED AND THE D SHOWN ON MY DASH WAS BLINKING. ANOTHER TIME I WAS TRUNING A CORNER AT A RED LIGHT AND IN THE PROCESS OF THE TURN GOING AROUND 15 MPH MY CAR DASH SHOWED THE SAME MESSAGE AND PERFORMED THE SAME WAY WITH NO POWER STIRRING. THE THIRD TIME I WAS GOING 55 MPH DOWN A HIGHWAY AND THE CAR DID THE SAME THING. IN EACH OF THESE INSTANCES I PUT MY CAR IN PARK, PRESSED THE BREAK AND THE START BUTTON AND THE CAR DID NOT START, ON THE SECOND TIME IT DID NOT START AS WELL AND SOUNDED AS IF MY CAR WAS NOT GOING TO START AT ALL AND STALLED LIKE THE BATTERY WAS DEAD, WHICH IT CLEARLY WAS NOT. EVENTUALLY THE CAR STARTS AND I COULD THEN SHIFT TO DRIVE AND PROCEED AS NORMAL. THIS IS NOT OKAY THOUGH, AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THERE IS A POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE RECALL FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL BUT MINE WASN'T INCLUDED, I GUESS. A CAR GOING DOWN THE STREET AND SUDDENLY COMING TO A COMPLETE, UNINITIATED STOP IS EXTREMELY SCARY AND DANGEROUS. I WOULD THINK IF THIS IS HAPPENING, THEN THE PCM SHOULD BE REPLACED, BUT THE DEALERSHIP ISN'T ON BOARD WITH THIS. THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO SINCE THEY CAN'T RE-CREATE THE ERROR. THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND THE START/STOP FEATURE WAS ENGAGED. WHEN MY FOOT WAS TAKEN OFF THE BRAKE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART LIKE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO. I PUT IT IN PARK AND TRIED TO RESTART IT AND IT WOULD NOT RESTART. THE BATTERY WAS NOT DEAD AS THE LIGHTS WERE WORKING AS WELL AS MANY WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME IN THREE YEARS THAT THIS VEHICLE WILL GO TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A SIMILAR ISSUE. THE DIAGNOSES SEEMS TO BE DIFFERENT EACH TIME, BUT ULTIMATELY I TAKE IT IN FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND IT STILL HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT LEFT ME STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF FOUR LANE HIGHWAY. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED THE VEHICLE WENT INTO LIMP MODE ON THE INTERSTATE. EVENTUALLY THIS IS GOING TO CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT AND COULD POSSIBLY KILL ME OR MY FAMILY. IT'S HAPPENED TWICE IN START/STOP MODE AT A STOP LIGHT AND ONCE IN MOTION ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70MPH.

NOT EVEN 3000 MILES ON THE NEW ENGINE IT ONCE AGIAN STALLED OUT AND ENGAGED PARKING BRAKE. OIL IS NOT LOW. "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" IS ON AND CAR BOGS DOWN WHEN ACCELERATED. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER SITTING, IT STARTED, BUT WOULD NOT RUN OVER 25 MPR. TODAY WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, MY CAR STARTED TO JERK WHICH THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT POPPED UP WITH THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT SAYING IT NEEDED TO BE SERVICED. ONCE THAT APPEARED IN THE MIDDLE OF ME DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE. IT STALLED ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY WHERE EVERYONE IS DRIVING 65 MPH AND IT GAVE ME NO TIME TO MOVE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON. ONCE THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP IT JERKED AND THE POWER ON THE CAR WENT OFF, SO IT PUT IT ON EMERGENCY BRAKES AND SAID TO STEP ON BRAKE AND PUSH START. I TURNED THE CAR COMPLETELY OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON, SO I BEGAN TO DRIVE AGAIN WITH CAUTION BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL THERE. I DROVE FOR A MILE AND THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT MESSAGE POPPED UP AGAIN, WHICH THEN CAUSE MY VEHICLE TO JERK AND STALL AGAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. IT PUT IT ON EMERGENCY BRAKE BUT THIS TIME I WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I LET THE CAR COOL DOWN SO I TURNED IT COMPLETELY OFF AGAIN. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST THIS HAS HAPPENED. ITS VERY DANGEROUS AND UNACCEPTABLE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND THE MECHANICS HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS. I NEED TO GET THIS FIXED BECAUSE ITS NOT SAFE FOR ME OR OTHERS DRIVING AROUND ME. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR BECAUSE RANDOM THINGS APPEAR AND CAUSE THE CAR TO FAIL WHILE IN DRIVING. PULLED OVER RESTARTED THE CAR, STARTED DRIVING TO THE DEALERSHIP WHEN IT HAPPENED TO ME AGAIN ON THE WAY. LEFT CAR AT DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD THE NEXT DAY I NEEDED TO PURCHASE AN OIL CHANGE. DEALERSHIP SAID THERE WAS NO OIL ON THE DIPSTICK AND NO OTHER PROBLEMS WERE FOUND. I AM 1000 MILES AWAY FROM AN OIL CHANGE. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THESE CARS CONSUME OIL EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS THAT MEANS 5 QUARTS OF OIL HAS BEEN CONSUMED IN BETWEEN MY OIL CHANGES. I DO NOT TRUST DRIVING THIS CAR MYSELF OR WITH MY FAMILY. I HAD NO INDICATION OR WARNING THAT OIL LEVELS WERE EVEN LOW. WANT ME TO GET AN OIL CHANGE AND DO A 500 MILE CHECK FOR 3000 MILES I DO NOT TRUST DRIVING THIS CAR FOR EVEN 5 MILES. WHEN THE MESSAGE APPEARS WHILE RUNNING THE CAR INSTANTLY REDUCE THE SPEED, WHICH IS VERY DANGER AT THIS SPEED, AND WHEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR THE ENGINE DOES NOT RESPOND AND CAN NOT EXCEED 30 MILES PER HOUR. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLES TIMES, AND IT HAS BEEN 'CORRECTED' IN DIFFERENT WAYS BY THE DEALERSHIP, CHANGING BATTERY AND CORRECTING MISPLACED CABLES, NOW IT HAPPENS EVERY DAY. AT THE END OF FEBRUARY 2020 MY 2018 JEEP COMPASS ENGINE WOULD SEIZE, WHILE I WAS DRIVING. IT WOULD SHUT OFF, AND AUTOMATICALLY PUT ON THE PARKING BRAKE. I WOULD NO LONGER BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE, I'D LOSE POWER STEERING, AND THEN IT WOULD STRUGGLE TO RESTART. THIS OBVIOUSLY PUT ME AT HIGH RISK FOR CAUSING AN ACCIDENT OR BEING INVOLVED IN A COLLISION. BEFORE THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN, I WOULD SEE "CANNOT SHIFT WHILE VEHICLE IS IN DRIVE" ON MY DASHBOARD SCREEN. I HAD IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP, AS I WAS RIGHTLY TERRIFIED TO DRIVE IT, AND THEY SAID IT WAS A LOOSE ELECTRICAL SHIFTING WIRE. THEY STATED THAT THEY SECURED IT AND THAT IT SHOULD BE FINE. IT HAPPENED AGAIN TWO DAYS LATER, THIS TIME WITH NO DASHBOARD SCREEN INDICATION, ONLY THE D ON MY GEAR STICK FLASHED, AND I BROUGHT IT BACK. UPON INSPECTION THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT I WAS OUT OF OIL AND THIS WAS TRIGGERING THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. I WAS 800 MILES OVER FOR AN OIL CHANGE (THAT I HAD SCHEDULED BUT WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE TO BECAUSE OF THE CAR MALFUNCTIONING) HOWEVER MY CAR HAD GIVEN ME NO INDICATION WHATSOEVER THAT IT NEEDED OIL. I NOW MUST GO BACK TO THE DEALER IN 1000 MILES FOR AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. DEALERSHIP PREDICTS I MAY POSSIBLY NEED A NEW ENGINE. MY CAR ALSO JERKS WHEN I SWITCH GEARS AND AT TIMES IT STRUGGLES TO START. EVEN IF THE ENGINE IS REPLACED THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT THE CAR ENGINE WON'T SEIZE AGAIN IF IT IS LOW ON OIL, OR THINKS IT IS, AND I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO MANUALLY CHECK THE OIL OF A 2018 VEHICLE THAT I PURCHASED WITH THE EXPECTATION THAT IT WAS SAFE AND RELIABLE. MY CAR HAS STOPPED WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND HIGHWAYS FOR THE ENTIRETY OF MY LEASE, IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON 3/1/2020 AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT FINALLY TOOK IT IN. AFTER ALMOST A WEEK OF NOT TOUCHING IT, THEY FINALLY TOOK A LOOK AT IT AND CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. THEY NOW DON'T KNOW HOW LONG IT'S GOING TO TAKE TO FIX AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME OUT-OF-POCKET FOR A RENTAL CAR TO USE UNTIL THEY DECIDE TO FIX IT. THIS WAS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE THAT LEFT THE LOT WITH 0 MILES ON IT, I HAD TO GO THROUGH A RECALL AND COUNTLESS MOMENTS WHERE I WAS SCARED TO DRIVE IT, AND NO ONE BATTED AN EYELASH. THIS DEALERSHIP IS RUDE AND CARELESS, THEY JUST WANT TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF PEOPLE. I SHOULD NOT BE PAYING FOR A LEASED VEHICLE THAT IS CLEARLY DAMAGED. USUALLY HAPPENS GOING UP A HILL OR AROUND A BEND. OIL LEVEL IN CAR IS GOOD AND CHANGED EVERY 3-5000 MILES. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THE CAR IS FULLY WARMED UP OR COLD ENGINE. DOESN'T MATTER IF GAS LEVEL IS AT A 1/4 OR 3/4 TANK. I CHECKED FOR RECALLS AND THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM IN THE PREVIOUS MODEL YEAR BUT IT SAYS IT'S NOT FOR MY VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH IT'S THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH THE STALLING AND PROBABLY 25 TIMES THE LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT HAS FLICKERED ON.

WHEN I TRIED TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON THE DASH LIGHT STARTED TO GO HAY WIRE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT POPPED ON WITH THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT DINGING RED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS SERVICING WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AGAIN IT WENT NO WHERE.THIS IS A HUGE BURDEN IN MY LIFE RIGHT NOW THIS IS MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION TO GET MY CHILDREN AND I BACK AND FORTH FROM SCHOOL, WORK, CHURCH ETC. AND I CAN'T EVEN RELY ON IT THIS IS FRUSTRATING THIS CAR IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND HAS THIS MANY MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH IT. I'M LITERALLY AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR ANYWHERE ANYMORE. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD BUT NEARLY REARENDED AND SEVERAL SEMI'S NEEDED TO DO QUICK MANUEVERS TO AVOID COLLIDING WITH ME. THERE WERE NO WARNINGS AND IT WAS SUDDEN POWER LOSS NOT PREVIOUSLY EXPERIENCED. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED BUY I EXPERIENCE A SIMILAR LACK OF POWER/ACCELERATION. I DO NOT FEEL THIS IS SAFE TO DRIVE AND I HAVE TOWED IT TO A JEEP DEALER.

I PURCHASED MY JEEP COMPASS NEW. SINCE I HAVE HAD IT, I HAVE TAKEN MY 2018 JEEP COMPASS IN FOR REPAIR DUE TO LOSS OF OIL SEVERAL TIMES. THE LOSS OF OIL WAS FIRST NOTICED BEFORE THE FIRST 2,000 MILES ON THE CAR BECAUSE OF A TICKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THIS CAR HAS EVEN STOPPED ON ME ON WHILE TRAVELING OUT OF TOWN AND THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON ALONG WITH OTHER LIGHTS. IN THIS PARTICULAR INSTANCE IT DID START BACK UP EVENTUALLY. WHEN IT DID, THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON THE WHOLE TIME. RECENTLY, (11/16/19), WHILE DRIVING THE WHOLE CAR SHUTS DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKES LOCK UP. THE CAR WILL NOT BUDGE. IN THIS INSTANCE THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THERE HAVE BEEN SO MANY ISSUES WITH THIS CAR THAT I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT. THESE ISSUES SEEM TO BE COMPLETELY RANDOM AND WITHOUT WARNING.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO EASTCHESTER CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (718-547-5500, LOCATED AT 4007 BOSTON RD, BRONX, NY 10466) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. A LOANER VEHICLE WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO GET A RENTAL VEHICLE FOR TWO DAYS AND THE DEALER WOULD REIMBURSE HIM. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER WAS AT A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS SEATED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND STRUCK HER HEAD ON THE DASHBOARD. THE SEAT BELT DID NOT RESTRAIN HER PROPERLY AND SHE SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A BACK INJURY. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER WERE TAKEN TO THE EMERGENCY CENTER FOR MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED, BUT WAS NOT TOWED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND SENT SOMEONE TO INVESTIGATE. THE INVESTIGATOR STATED THAT THE SEAT BELT PERFORMED AS EXPECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 19,000.

THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MY VEHICLE. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN THIS HAPPENS ON A MAJOR STREET DURING PEAK HOURS OF TRAFFIC. DURING ONE OF THE TIMES MY VEHICLE RESPONDED LIKE THIS. THE OIL LIGHT WAS ON. I WENT TO THE CLOSEST FACILITY TO GET MY VEHICLE CHECKED. THEY SAID THERE WAS NO OIL IN MY VEHICLE ON APRIL 17, 2019. I HAD JUST HAD MY OIL CHANGED.

I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY USING CRUISE CONTROL AND THE VEHICLE LOCKED UP AND STARTED TO SLOW DOWN. I COULD NOT ACCELERATE SO I HAD TO PUT MY HAZARDS AND PULL OVER. THIS HAPPENS VERY OFTEN NOW. AUTOZONE STATES THE CODE POPS UP WITH U1428. I THEN START TO HAVE START UP ISSUES AT 50,000 MILES. THE START/STOP SYSTEM IS UNAVAILABLE AND THE LIGHT REFLECT 'A!' HAS BEEN ACTIVARE SINCE. THIS HAS CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO GET REALLY HOT. CONSTANT OIL BURNING. AND GAS BURNING. WHEN AUTOZONE CHECK CODE IT POPPED UP P1DD2 (WITH NO DESCRIPTION OF WHAT THE CODE WAS CAUSED BY). THE VEHICLE ELECTRICAL IS NOT STABLE. IN MULTIPLE INSTANCES MY VEHICLE LIGHTS AND POWER HAVE GONE IN AND OUT WHILE IDLE AND DRIVING. IT SLOWS DOWN MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY. I HAVE HEARD A LOT ABOUT TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE ISSUES WITH THE NEWER JEEPS BUT I DIDN'T THINK THIS WOULD HAPPEN TO ME. I DON'T THINK MY VEHICLE IS SAFE AND WOULD LIKE A MORE PROFESSIONAL INPUT SINCE THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM IS NEVER AVAILABLE TO ASSIST.

WHILE STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT AUTO START/STOP TURNED THE CAR OFF AS NORMAL. A FEW MOMENTS LATER THE BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH AND THE ELECTRONIC EMERGENCY BRAKE TURNED ON. I RELEASED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE TO SEE IF THE CAR WOULD START BACK UP IT WOULD NOT. THE DASH READ OUT IN PARK AND START. I ATTEMPTED HOWEVER CAR WOULD NOT START. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WOULD NOT TURN OFF EITHER. I HAD TO CALL ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE FOR A TOW. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 11,400 MILES. THE CAR IS AT THE DEALERSHIP I AM WAITING ON THEIR INVESTIGATION.

BRAKES ARE BAD, HAVE BEEN SINCE WE GOT IT. THEY LOCK UP WHEN U HIT THE BRAKES. SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH IT WHEN I DROVE IT ON THE LOT. SOMETHING RATTLEING IN THE FRONT END. THEY STOPPED THE RATTLE BUT BRAKES ARE A HUGE ISSUE. NO MATTER HOW LIGHT YOU TAP THEM THEY LOCK UP. WHEN THEY ARE WET IT IS UNDRIVABLE. ALSO ENGINE REVS UP FOR NO REASON AND THE ENGINE KILL THING DOES NOT WORK RIGHT. ITS NOT INSTANTANEOUS. LOTS OF LAG BEFORE YOU CAN MOVE.. WE HAVE BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER RIGHT AFTER WE BOUGHT IT TO TRY TO TRADE IT FOR ANOTHER ONE BUT NO LUCK. I SHOULD HAVE WALKED AWAY WHEN IT WAS MAKING THE NOISE WHEN I MOVED IT ON THE LOT. SPECIALLY AFTER THE WAY WE WERE TREATED BY THE GUY WHO DID THE PAPERWORK WHEN WE DECLINED THE EXTRA WARRANTY. IF HE HADNT BEEN A VET I WOULDVE WALKED AWAY. THE DEALER HAS RECORDS OF REPAIRS THEY TRIED TO MAKE.THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN BAD SINCE WE BOUGHT IT AND THE REST HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A COULPA MONTHS NOW.

THIS HAPPENED THREE TIMES OVER THE PAST TWO WEEKS. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING MY CAR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND CAR WILL THROW ITSELF IN EMERGENCY BRAKE MODE AND ENGINE WILL TURN OFF. LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL IS GONE AS WELL. HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY LUCKY TO NOT GET IN AN ACCIDENT. DROPPED CAR OFF TO DEALER WHO BLAMED IT ON "LOW OIL." DUE TO "LOW OIL" LEVELS HOWEVER CAR IS ONLY 7 MONTHS OLD AND JUST 4K MILES. HE RECOMMENDED I CHANGE THE OIL EVERY 750 MILES! 750! A STANDARD CAR IS EVERY 5,000 MILES. THE FACT THAT MY OIL CHANGE COULD BE THE DETERMINING FACTOR BETWEEN MY ENGINE TURNING OFF MID DRIVE AND GETTING IN AN ACCIDENT IS ABSURD. WHILE RESEARCHING THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF SIMILAR CASES WITH THE SAME CAR. PEOPLE HAVE GOTTEN IN ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE CAR STALLING ON HIGHWAYS AND INTERSECTIONS. NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I HAVE HAD TWO INSTANCES WITHIN A 2 MONTHS OF EACH OTHER WHERE MY NEW JEEP COMPASS HAS BROKEN DOWN AND NEEDED TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. BACK IN FEBRUARY, I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, WHICH I THOUGHT WAS STRANGE. I CAME UP TO A STOP SIGN AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE AGAIN, AND I CRAWLED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION WITH NO POWER, RPMS SHOOTING THROUGH THE ROOF, AND MY WHOLE VEHICLE SHAKING VIOLENTLY. THE HARDER I PRESSED ON THE GAS, THE SLOWER IT WENT. THERE WAS ONCOING TRAFIC AT THIS TIME, SO IM GLAD NO ACCIDENT OCCURED. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT I NEEDED TWO SOFTWARE UPDATES, FOR MY TRANSMISSION AND ONE OTHER ONE, AND IT FIXED THE PROBLEM. FAST FORWARD TO APRIL 27, 2019, IM DRIVING 50 MPH AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN. I COME TO A STOP SIGN AGAIN, AND TRY TO ACCELERATE, ONLY FOR THE SAME THING TO HAPPEN AS LAST TIME. I MADE IT HOME AND HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN. THE SAID THAT THEY DID NOT SEE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON AND WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND THAT ONE HAD EVER BEEN ON WHEN THEY CHECKED THE COMPUTER IN THE VEHICLE. THIS IS ALARMING BECAUSE IT WAS IN FACT ON, AND MY WHOLE VEHICLE WAS BASICALLY DISABLED AND SHAKING VIOLENTLY. THEY SAID SINCE THEY COULDNT FIND ANYTHING THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM UNLESS THEY CAN RECREATE IT. THERE IS CLEARLY SOMETHING MAJORLY WRONG WITH THIS CARS COMPUTER SYSTEM IF IT RANDOMLY DOES THIS WITH NO WARNING, AND IT IS DANGEROUS. IT DOESNT EVEN WORK ENOUGH TO LOG THE HISTORY OF ENGINE LIGHTS THAT ARE TRIGGERED. I DONT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT. IT IS UNDER A YEAR OLD AND ONLY HAD 9500 MILES ON IT WHEN THIS HAPPEND THE FIRST TIME, NOW IT HAS 13000 MILES ON IT AND IS STILL NEW. WHILE ACCELERATING ONTO A HIGHWAY, MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. I IMMEDIATELY PUT HAZARDS ON, TRIED TO PULL TO THE SIDE, STOPPED AND TRIED TURNING THE CAR BACK ON, AFTER 2 ATTEMPTS IT TURNED BACK ON BUT I WAS SCARED THE ENTIRE HOUR LONG RIDE HOME SO DROVE IN THE SLOW LANE SO THAT I COULD PULL RIGHT OFF THE HIGHWAY IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR SERVICE AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE HOOD LATCH SENSOR. THEY REPLACED IT AND IT WORKED FINE FOR A MONTH OR SO THEN AGAIN THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ABOUT 40 MPH, CAR SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. AGAIN ANOTHER SCARY EXPERIENCE. TOOK THE CAR BACK AND THEY SAID THE ACTUAL HOOD LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PULLED OUT OF SERVICE CENTER AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN, PULLED BACK IN TO SERVICE CENTER AND A DAY LATER THEY CALLED AND SAID HOOD NEEDED REALIGNMENT. WORKED AGAIN FOR A FEW MONTHS THEN TODAY, AGAIN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, OIL PRESSURE LOW WARNING FLASHED ON MY DASH THEN WENT OFF, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED ON THEN YET ANOTHER WARNING THAT READ SWITCH TO P THEN DESIRED GEAR. CAR THEN LOST ALMOST ALL POWER BUT LUCKILY HAD JUST ENOUGH POWER TO GET ME TO A SIDE ROAD WHERE I BARELY MADE IT ONTO THE ROAD BEFORE IT SHUT OFF. I TRIED TURNING IT BACK ON AND AFTER 2 TRIES IT POWERED ON BUT WHEN I PUT INTO DRIVE AND HIT THE GAS, IT WOULD NOT MOVE. IT WAS LIKE IT WOULD NOT ENGAGE IN GEAR. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD AS THIS VEHICLE SUDDENLY STOP WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING.

I CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE OIL AND BOTH WERE GOOD. I TRIED PUTTING THE VEHICLE ON DRIVE AND THE ELECTRONIC PARKING LIGHT CAME ON AND STOPPED THE VEHICLE FROM GOING ON DRIVE. THE LIGHT STAYED ON FOR THE ELECTRONIC BRAKING SERVICE. I WAS ABLE TO TAKE IT OFF THE BRAKE STILL WITH THE SERVICE LIGHTS ON. I WAS GOING TO SHIFT IT INTO DRIVE WHEN IT MADE A STRONG POPPING AND SCREECHING SOUND ON THE TRANSMISSION WHEN PLACED ON REVERSE. I MOVED IT TO DRIVE AND IT DID THE SAMETHING. I TRIED GIVING IT GAS AND THE D FOR DRIVE WOULD JUST BLINK AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. I WAITED 30 MINUTES AND TRIED MOVING IT BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. I SWITCHED THE GEAR FROM PARKING TO DRIVE HEARING THE POPPING SOUND AS I SHIFTED FROM THE P R N D. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT FOR 10-15 MINUTES AND THE TRANSMISSION STARTED HEATING UP FROM 180F TO 192F. WHILE LEAVING THE VEHICLE STOPPED FOR A WHILE THE TRANSMISSION TEMP DID COOL OFF BUT I WILL HAVE IT SERVICED SINCE I AM STILL STOPPED AT THE HIGHWAY WITH MY FAMILY WHILE WRITING THIS.

EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE WOULD NOT EVEN ENGAGE. SO MY DAUGHTER HAD TO HOLD THE BRAKE BECAUSE SAID AUTO WAS STUCK IN REVERSE FOR OVER ONE HOUR. THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THIS DEALERSHIP WAS NOT TRUTHFUL IN DISCLOSING THE ISSUES WITH THIS CAR. WEB SHOWS SEVERAL INSTANCES OF THIS HAPPENING, WHY HAS THE NTHTSA NOT RECALLED THESE VEHICLES WITH THIS SAME SETUP. I BELIEVE IT'S TIMES THAT THIS CAR GETS REPLACED BY THE MANUFACTURER.

AFTER USING THE REMOTE START AND GETTING IN THE VEHICLE I WAS ABLE TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE WITHOUT PRESSING ON THE BRAKE OR PRESSING THE START/STOP BUTTON TO ALLOW THE WHEEL TO MOVE FREELY, IN TURN ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO ROLL FORWARD ON A HILL WITHOUT BEING FULLY TURNED ON THUS NOT ALLOWING FOR THE POWER STEERING TO WORK AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED IN POSITION. WHEN IN DRIVE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START, AFTER PLACING IT BACK INTO PARK THE VEHICLE WOULD STILL NOT START BUT CONTINUED TO BE ABLE TO ROLL FORWARD WHEN MY FOOT WAS NOT ON THE BRAKE. THE VEHICLES START/STOP WAS COMPLETELY DISABLED FOR FOR UP TO 3 MINUTES THEN THE CAR VERY SUDDENLY SHOOK, POWERED DOWN, AND I WAS ABLE TO PLACE IT IN PARK AND RESTART THE CAR VIA THE START/STOP BUTTON AND NORMAL OPERATION WAS RESUMED.

ALL OTHER GEAR SHIFTS ARE SMOOTH. I HAVE HAD IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE AND IT HAS BEEN CHECKED FOR UPGRADES VIA COMPUTER. ONE UPGRADE WAS MADE BUT DID NOT CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT ANOTHER 2018 JEEP COMPASS WAS TAKEN FOR A TEST DRIVE AND IT DID THE SAME THING, GIVING THE IMPRESSION THAT 'THAT IS HOW IT IS.' THIS IS NONSENSE AND SHOULD NOT HAPPEN WITH STANDARD DRIVING PRACTICES.

AFTER A FEW WEEKS OF THIS AND AFTER A TOUCH SCREEN SAFETY UPDATE TO KEEP THE DISPLAY FROM FLASHING FULL BRIGHTNESS AT NIGHT, THE VEHICLE WAS SLOWING DOWN TO TURN INTO PRIVATE ENTRY OF WORK (GATE THAT REQUIRES RFID BADGE) AND SHUT OFF COMPLETELY IN MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITHOUT WARNING. VEHICLES HAD TO SWERVE OUT OF THE WAY TO MISS FROM HITTING US AT ONLY 3500 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. LUCKY WE WERE ONLY DOING AROUND 20 MILES AN HOUR AND HAD OUR BLINKER ON. THE TECH THAT TOOK 22 DAYS TO WORK ON THE MOTOR OF THE VEHICLE AND TOLD US THE MOTOR TURNED IT SELF OFF AFTER THE VEHICLE OIL PRESSURE DROPPED TO 5 PSI DUE TO A PLASTIC PART IN ENGINE CLOGGING. I ASKED WHY THE LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON AND HE SAID IT IS NOT DESIGNED TO COME ON UNTIL 3 PSI AND IT WILL NEVER SHOW CAUSE THE ENGINE IS SUPPOSE TO TURN OFF FIRST. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE YOU HAVE A VEHICLE THAT CAN TURN OFF WITHOUT WARNING ON LOW OIL LEVEL OR LOW OIL PSI. JEEP HAS DECIDED THAT THEIR MOTOR IS WORTH MORE THEN THE LIFE OF THE PEOPLE DRIVING THEM. TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER UPDATED TRANSMISSION AND DRIVE LINE MODULE. NOISE STILL THERE, IF VECHILE PLACED IN 4X4 OR ESC TURNED OFF NOISE WILL DISAPPEAR. NOISE SOUNDS LIKE IT CAN BE DRIVELINE OR TRANSMISSION NOT IN RIGHT GEAR. CAR IS NOT SHIFTING CORRECTLY AND RPM GOES HIGH. VEHICLE HAS STALLED OUT A FEW TIMES FOR NO REASON CAR WAS STATIONARY WITH FOOT ON BRAKE AND THE AUTO START OFF DISABLED. HEATED STEERING WHEEL AND SEATS GET EXTREMELY HOT. SHUT DOWN ON THERE OWN AT TIMES FOR NO REASON. POOR GAS MILEAGE IS RELATED TO ENGINE, TRANSMISSION AND DRIVELINE PROBLEMS

MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT IS ON, RIGHT SIDE OF RPM GAUGE IS LITE UP WITH THREE BARS. VEHICLE HAS LARGE CLUNK WHEN TURNING CORNERS AND ACCELERATING, ATTEMPTS TO STALE AT LOW SPEEDS. NOTE I TURN OFF THE STOP/START SWITCH AS I DO NOT LIKE IT TO TURN OFF AT STOP SIGNS. THE VEHICLE ACTS LIKE IT IS STILL ON. THE DEALER SAID IT COULD NOT LOOK AT MY CAR FOR TWO WEEKS. THE VEHICLE HAS 2,496 MILES ON IT. THEY TOLD ME THE FIRST TIME I COMPLAINED THAT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY DRIVE AND I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 40 YEARS. VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS FOR STALLING OUT EVEN AT SPEEDS OF 10-20 MPH. WHEN I SHIFT FROM PARK TO DRIVE IN MY GARAGE, IT FEELS LIKE THE REAR END IS GOING TO BUST THROUGH THE FLOOR BOARDS.

CAR WOULD NOT RESTART FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES. CHECKED CODES AFTERWARDS; SHOWS P0339 CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR A CIRCUIT INTERMITTENT AND P0335 CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR A CIRCUIT. THIS PRESENTS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WHEN CAR ENGINE STOPS WITHOUT WARNING.

I WAS STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN. I WENT TO GIVE THE CAR GAS AND IT SPIT AND SPUTTERED. CARS IN THE NORTHBOUND LANE HAD TO TAKE THE GRAVEL OR THEY WOULD HAVE HIT ME. I TOUCHED THE GAS AND THEN THE GAS PEDAL STUCK. IT WAS 55MPH HWY AND I WAS ALREADY AT 65MPH. I WAS GOING TO RUN INTO THE TRAFFIC OR TAKE THE DITCH. I TRIED SHIFTING INTO NEUTRAL AND IT WOULD NOT. I HIT THE GRAVEL AND PUT ON THE BRAKES. I FINALLY BROUGHT CAR TO A STOP. PUT CAR IN PARK AND TRIED TO SHUT CAR OFF. IT WOULD NOT.WENT TO TAKE FOOT OFF BRAKE AND THE RPM'S NEEDLE WAS BURIED. THE ENGINE WAS RACING. I PUSHED BOTH THE BRAKE AND GAS PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES AND THE CAR FINALLY SHUT DOWN. THERE WERE LIGHTS ON THE DASH ON AN A! AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. MY SON IN LAW CAME TO PICK ME UP CAUSE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED. WE LOOKED AT GAS PEDAL AND BRAKE. NOTHING SEEMED WRONG. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER 78 MILES AWAY. HERE A LOUD NOISE WHEN RUNNING BETWEEN 35PMH-45MPH, BROUGHT INTO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID NOISE IS COMING FROM DRIVETRAIN, FOUND STARCASE FOR EXACT CONDITIONS AND ENGINEERING IS WORKING ON A SOULTION, NO DTC'S. WAS SENT ON MY WAY. WE JUST PURCHASED VEHICLE IN MARCH OF 2018. NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER!

I WAS DRIVING ON A COUNTY ROAD AND THE MESSAGE "SERVICE HILL ASSIST" CAME ON THE SCREEN. I KEPT DRIVING AND THE MESSAGES "SERVICE ESC" AND "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" CAME ON THE SCREEN. THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT, THE SCREEN FOR THE RADIO KEPT FLASHING ON AND OFF, AND I COULD NOT TURN THE ENGINE OFF WITH THE PUSH BUTTON IGNITION. THIS HAPPENED TWO MORE TIMES AS I WAS TRYING TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND ON, AND I EVENTUALLY GOT THE VEHICLE HOME. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH IMMEDIATELY BY JEEP.

ALL 24 WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP ON 3-4 OCCASIONS . TOWED TO DEALER ON 3 SEPARATE TRIPS. DEALER HAS NOT OFFERED ANOTHER CAR YET. I WAS DRIVING AND THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE CAR STOPPED AND I COULD NOT GET IT STARTED BACK , SO I HAD IT TOWED.

WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 30-50MPH IN INCLEMENT WEATHER THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM ATTEMPTS TO ENGAGE THE REAR AXLE FOR ADDITIONAL TRACTION. WHEN THIS OCCURS THERE IS A INTERMITTENT BANGING NOISE THAT EMITS FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE AND A BAD VIBRATION THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THIS AS A "OVER MODULATION" OF THE REAR AXLE WHICH CAUSES A BINDING OF THE DRIVESHAFT. THE SOUND WAS EXPLAINED AS THE DRIVESHAFT IS FLEXING IN THE CARRIER BEARING AND STRIKING THE EXHAUST WHEN THIS BINDING OCCURS WHICH HAS CAUSED MARKS TO APPEAR ON THE EXHAUST AND DRIVE SHAFT.. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER THIS WAS A 4 WHEEL DRIVE MODULE ISSUE AND THERE WAS NO KNOWN TIME WHEN A REPAIR WOULD BE AVAILABLE HOWEVER THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. 3 DAYS AFTER THE DIAGNOSES WHICH WAS THE SECOND TRIP TO THE DEALER FOR THE ISSUE THE REAR WHEELS LOCKED UP WHILE DRIVING CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SKID OUT OF CONTROL. THIS OCCURRED WHILE GOING AROUND A TURN AT APPROXIMATELY 40MPH ON A WET 2 LANE HIGHWAY WITH NEITHER THE BRAKE OR ACCELERATOR APPLIED AT THE TIME. I FEAR THAT THE ISSUE CAUSES A SAFETY HAZARD TO ANYONE DRIVING THE VEHICLE WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR THE REAR WHEELS TO LOCK UP AT ANY TIME. THE DEALER HAS REPORTED TO ME THAT A SECOND VEHICLE OF THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL HAS HAD THE SAME ISSUE DAYS AFTER MINE OCCURRED. *TT *TR
