On 8/26/25 I got the 88A recall fixed on this jeep at Duluth dodge in Duluth mn .. I left dealership and my ac stopped working brought it back they fixed and it and got it working now on 8/30/25 I’m at a stop light and my jeep stalls, it went to go start for me to drive and it died. The emergency brake came on and I couldn’t get it off the state trooper actually helped me get it off. Had to get my vehicle towed to my house. All lights come on but it says “blind spot alert temporarily unavailable “ check engine light is on and my jeep will not start. I was stranded on a busy road at a stop light with my child in the car . I know this is due to the recall cause my jeep ran just fine and did not have any issues until this recall was “fixed”. This recall actually has my jeep not working at all. All failure lights came on after my jeep stalled and wouldn’t turn back on. From what I’m reading this is exactly what happened to other people . Please FIX THIS

The vehicles emergency brake engages itself while the vehicle is in drive. I’ve reported this to my dealership, they say they’ve never heard of this issue. I’ve reported the issue twice. This is an obvious safety issue because the vehicle is randomly braking and coming to a complete stop while it is in drive. The brake signal comes on and there is no way to regain control of the vehicle unless you put the car in park and turn it off and on again. The emergency brake button also does not work during this time. This often happens when driving after a stop light. The vehicle begins to move and suddenly the brake engages itself, and the car stops this has almost gotten me rear ended on several occasions. I’m forced to throw on my hazards and rush to regain control of the vehicle . All the while holding up traffic, cars honking and trying to get past me. This issue was not confirmed to me by the dealer. They seem to act as if they haven’t heard of this issue. I’ve researched online and other Jeep brand owners are experiencing the same exact issue. My vehicle was purchased brand new and hadn’t been in any accidents before this problem began. It started the year I purchased and still happens till this day. I’ve tried to get to the bottom of the issue but I’ve been quoted $1000 to change both batteries without promise that this will resolve the issue. I don’t want to pay out of pocket for an indefinite resolution that the company should take care of because they sold the vehicle to me with this safety issue. I’ve looked for recalls that depict my exact issue for my make and model and I haven’t seen any. This needs to be investigated because many people bought their cars with this same safety hazard so why isn’t Jeep taking accountability!

While driving 65 MPH on the highway, a plastic bag flew across the vehicle, and the vehicle abruptly stopped. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Even though it says it's off there will be times the warning will alert me to brake for no reason and someone's brake for no reason. I've gone to the dealer multiple times and they wouldn't find a code or a reason why it was doing that, and brush it off like nothing. every 2k miles out would turn off. Now after hitting over 40k miles I started to experience it more often where it would tell me brake. Now something at 49k miles. When I'm on a slight hill or high incline when my vehicle turns off and tries to start it will roll back and not move forward even when I apply the gas like the engine is still off. When that happens the SERVICE HILL HOLDER, and then multiple other safety features have warnings for, SERVICE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL, DRIVE MODE UNAVAILABLE, ACTIVE LANE MANAGEMENT UNAVAILABLE SERVICE REQUIRED, AUTO EMERGENCY BRAKING UNAVAILABLE SERVICE REQUIRED, STOP/START UNAVAILABLE SERVICE START/STOP SYSTEM. I told the dealer that had my car for a month at 49k miles about the hill holder and what my vehicle did. No results and still have this issue. When you turn off the vehicle the service lights disappear and can't be read. This happens almost every day now. I replaced my AUX battery after it seems to happen when my vehicle is off and struggled to turn back on at times and it still does it. I'm afraid that I'm going to get into an accident when people see I took my foot off the brake and will get rear ended or if my vehicle is going to brake itself and cause an accident or the other safely issue fail. The stability control can be an issue and drive mode I can't turn off or on those features when those notifications pop up. What can happen, will it eventually do this on a freeway and cause a major accident or when I'm through an intersection..5 different dealers and have no answer... Help

The whole infotainment center. I was driving no one around me & the forward collision went off stopped dead red flashin lights on and beeping. I almost got rear ended. Took it to dealer they said they couldnt help because it didnt happen to them..it does it sporadicly...it happened again on the nys thruway.again lights etc.this time it said take to dealer on screen..too bad i didnt take a pic of screen. I went shopping, came from store car wouldnt open..i had to remote start it. No doors or trunk would open..i went into my garage, opened door and the alarm went off. I know you said there was no recall on this car but there was. I took to dealer near me and they said they fixed the problem...it was on the infotainment ctr.i am afraid to drive it because i dont want to be in a accident. I bought new in 22 has 6200 miles on it..this shd'nt be plz do something...before something awful happens...also i cant still make a phone call from car. This has been happening since the beginning of 2024...

Collision warning system has malfunctioned more than 3 times and has been brought into the dealer. My vehicle is equipped with collision warning and active braking. Typically when the collision warning occurs if I do not manually hit the brakes immediately it will brake the car for me. The first 2 times it occurred in a residential area at low speeds with nothing in front of me. The system flashed the brake warning when there was absolutely nothing in front of me. In both of these instances I was lucky that there was no car following behind. The dealer was not able to replicate the issue or find an error with the system. The 3rd and most recent time it occurred on the highway at a speed of around 65MPH. During this occurrence there was NO braking system warning on my dash the car system slowed rapidly and almost entirely on the freeway out of nowhere with no cars immediately in front of my vehicle. During this instance there was a car directly behind me and they had to swerve into the shoulder to avoid rear ending me after my car slowed to a speed of nearly 30 mph on the freeway. This put not only my safety at risk but the car behind me as well as we both would have been involved in an accident if the shoulder had not been next to the lane we were in. I brought my vehicle in again and they again were not able to duplicate or find any issues with the system.

Car started beeping and information center was flashing and drive indicator was flashing . At another time car shifted in reverse and would not move. Humming sound coming from front right wheel at 40mph and would not go away until until 60mph. Was told it was the all wheel drive system.

Since the last over-the -air (OTA) software update, numerous systems have malfunctioned and then fixed themselves. The exception is the dashboard lighting problem to be addressed by NHTSA Recall # 23V-576, FCA Recall # 88A which also started with the latest update, is continuous, not intermittent. I feel the most serious malfunction is when a turn signal will not turn off, irregardless of manual control/lever use. Overall, my main question / complaint is since all these problems were installed by the OTA update, why can't the fixes also be installed OTA instead of having going to the dealership? Thank you.

Every week of every month since purchasing this car, the electrical system more specifically the Forward Crash Warning system which controls steering and brakes has failed. The system is continually turning off and it has been for repairs where they have replaced the sensors and cameras. No resolution has been made and it’s been now sitting at the dealership since September 1. I’m making payments on a car that can’t be driven. Furthermore every loaner Compass I’ve been given has had the exact same problem no sooner than driving off the lot. The bright light upon system failure is a distraction and the system not working right is a danger to life, limb and property.

This vehicle randomly shuts off. It is usually when I’m going at a slow speed or applying the break. It cuts off and jerks for a second and then I put the vehicle in park cut it off and restart it and it works normal.

Greetings, There is day time dash dimming issues, and unable to adjust manually. Anti collision feature randomly turns off while driving. Auto on and off feature for fuel economy has not worked in 14 months. Finally, a hard gear jerking event occurs when traveling at slow speed that feels like being rear ended by another vehicle. Not feeling safe with this Jeep. Dealer had the vehicle for week to tell me these are known issues with no remedy available. Please help!

Screens in vehicle have dimmed and are unable to brighten. It’s impossible to see while driving during the day. I have run out of gas on the highway, and almost caused an accident. My vehicle also automatically breaks and sounds an alarm as if I have had a collision, and almost caused another accident from being rear ended. Thankfully, one of the issues has been resolved and the dealership is fixing it (although my VIN number was not included in the recall at this time). I’ve developed a fear of driving on the highway now so be cautious of purchasing until all these issues have been resolved.

Upon start up of my vehicle I noticed my center display for speed, etc had turned itself to Spanish, but my radio was still in English. Over the past several months vehicle has been repaired four separate times by dealership and issue keeps recurring. Forward collision sensor, blind spot indicator, and active lane assistance intermittently malfunction creating unsafe driving situations that have almost caused several major accidents involving multiple vehicles. Examples of near misses of collisions include forward collision activating incorrectly when there aren't vehicles or objects in front of vehicle when turning through intersections and brakes are applied stopping vehicle from safely clearing intersection from oncoming traffic creating a potential collision from on coming traffic when unable to accelerate to avoid impact. Other times forward collision sensor has malfunctioned by activating during highway driving when it activated and applied brakes without reason causing vehicle to impede flow of traffic and abruptly stopping vehicle causing vehicles from behind to slam on their brakes and swerve into on comming traffic to prevent rear-end collision. Sensors randomly display on dash indicating malfunction and repair needed. During repair service at dealership they follow manufacturers recommendations and are unable to replicate malfunction during test drive so vehicle is returned. Within a week sensors intermittently continue to malfunction with no solution creating more potential traffic safety issues.

As of February 7, 2023, the center display in my vehicle appears to be stuck in night mode, resulting in an inability to see the fuel gauge or warning lights during daylight hours. Forward collision sensor kept turning itself off, now my vehicle is telling me to service my headlights, 4WD, airbags and other sensors. Vehicle has also turned off while driving and deployed the AEB when driving. Have taken it to the dealership twice. Dealer contacted the manufacture which they were unable to determine the issue.

Please see uploaded documents for a personal account of all issues on the 2022 Jeep Compass. Yes, it is available for inspection. No warning indications prior to incidents. I went to dealership & they are aware of issues with the mechanical & electrical system, however they did not offer any resolution. No, the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer or anyone else. The issues began within a few days of being bought on 9/12/22. The incidents are random, ongoing, and increasing. No, the issues have not been reproduced or confirmed by anyone. I live 2 hrs from the dealership, however I have made numerous trips to them & on 1/24/23 did make them aware of the problems in writing. I have tried returning the vehicle on several occasions. No one would work with me, return phone calls or emails. They did agreed to a trade but with a $10,000 charge for trading this vehicle in for another one just like it but cheaper cash price of $32,595. That was 9/22/2022, 10 days after signing the contract. However I have been calling & email the salesman & business manager from day one. I am convinced they sold me a Lemon & are preditory lenders considering how they have treated me. The salesman tore the window sticker off the Jeep, waded it up & threw it away the night it was bough. He also did not give me my trade in license plate, or my extra key fob to the new vehicle. I have since gotten the key fob on a trip there. The license plate is gone. I have called & went by numerous times with no one willing to work with me concerning the Jeep on all situations. I have since learn Base MSRP is $26,525. My contract was written for $38,864 in total. Cash price was $35,305. They also financed a down payment through a credit card company when told I had no down payment of $3,000, which is a separate payment. I am not sure this is where I complain about Preditory Lending but I thought it wouldn't hurt to share my situation considering the issues I am having with the physical vehicle.

I have 3 issues with my vehicle: 1. Whenever I am in my vehicle for more than 20 minutes the radio starts to fade out and eventually all sound on the vehicle is muted. This happens every time I drive the vehicle for more than 20 minutes an can only be resolved by shutting off the vehicle for an extended period. 2. I was driving on the highway at 65 mph when my car suddenly started braking and nearly caused a rear end collision with the vehicle behind. I tried to continue pressing the accelerator, but the car was not advancing. Fortunately the vehicle did not come to a full stop and I was able to recover. 3. Just the other day my vehicle started to display a light on the dashboard that has warned me that the Forward Collision Warning system is now off. None of the above issues have yet to be inspected by the dealership. I have an appointment on February 3rd. It was very difficult to find a dealership with availability. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. All these problems appeared within the first 5-days of owning the vehicle.

As the vehicle is driven for longer periods of time (over 45 minutes), the instrument panel and control system for the car freezes and slowly fades out on the audio. Once the audio is faded completely it can no longer play the radio, calls or any alerts. The issue continues with freezing the instrument panel and the lane assist, collision warning and pedestrian sensors stop working. This becomes a safety issue as you can no longer use the hands-free device as your car auto-connects via blue tooth. It is also a major issue as the sensors on the vehicle are not dependable for operation. This happens every time you operate the vehicle for longer periods of time.

As the vehicle is driven for longer periods of time (over 45 minutes), the instrument panel and control system for the car freezes and slowly fades out on the audio. Once the audio is faded completely it can no longer play the radio, calls or any alerts. The issue continues with freezing the instrument panel and the lane assist, collision warning and pedestrian sensors stop working. This becomes a safety issue as you can no longer use the hands-free device as your car auto-connects via blue tooth. It is also a major issue as the sensors on the vehicle are not dependable for operation. This happens every time you operate the vehicle for longer periods of time.

The vehicle kept telling me that stop start is unavailable service stop start then there would be a battery on the left side on dashboard showing. Then it would say stop safety vehicle will shut off soon. Called both dealerships by my house to see if I can get the vehicle serviced one of the advisers told me the vehicle would not shut down that it would be okay to drive out of town. Brought my jeep into another dealership and their adviser told me the same thing. Last night 12/25 I was able to pull my car into a neighborhood before my vehicle completely shutdown I had it towed to my house.

There is a known issue with multiple 2022 Jeep Compass trims and models that, after long periods of driving (about an hour), the volume for all components utilizing sound becomes barely audible even at max volume. This affects all warning systems including blind spot, lane departure, etc. Upon turning off the vehicle for long periods of time (a few hours) the volume will return, but the issue will occur again if driving for an hour plus with short stops. Jeep has acknowledged the concern for over a year on Jeep forums and dealers are not helpful regarding the issue. Jeep states there will be an update to the UConnect system controlling audio functions in Q4 2022. But Jeep has yet to release an update with 2 weeks left to go in the year despite knowing of the issue since end of 2021. I have additional concerns for safety as I have to disengage hands free audio during long drives due to the volume issue causing further distraction and complications on top of not having audio for any other integrated components (like gps, radio, etc.) In addition to the safety features. Jeep states there will be an update to the UConnect system controlling audio functions in Q4 2022. But Jeep has yet to release an update with 2 weeks left to go in the year despite knowing of the issue since end of 2021. I have additional concerns for safety as I have to disengage hands free audio during long drives due to the volume issue causing further distraction and complications on top of not having audio for any other integrated components (like gps, radio, etc.) In addition to the safety features. This vehicle has two dangerous issues: 1) It brakes unexpectedly and for no reason during drive. This has happened to me at least 3 times while driving on the freeway without any cars close in front or around me. Bells and whistles just go off all of a sudden and vehicle brakes for no legitimate reason, throwing me forward. 2) This vehicle stalls while driving. This has happened to me 6 times. Engine just falls dead while in drive. I have to put it in park and restart the engine. This could get me killed.

I needed to use GPS to reach my destination, so I was sitting in park while getting everything the address inputted. For no apparent reason I start getting messages: AEB limited Functionality Service Required, I do not have the active lane management functionality either, Service Headlights, Service automatic window wipers etc. I eventually can get these settings to go away by manually turning them on but not this time.

The first time it happened, I had started my vehicle, and it was running for around 3-4 minutes while I got my child settled in the backseat. By the time I made it back to the drivers seat, I heard noises alerting me to issues. Multiple lights showed up on the dash, and when I went into the menu it would tell me system failure, and service required. Prior to this, there weren't any indicators as to some sort of failure was going to happen. After a few days I was able to manually reset the notifications.

I am currently in a loaner car from dodge dealership, 2022 Jeep Compass limited 4x4. when we got it pretty much as soon as we were in it and down the road every dashboard warning light popped on and it goes through the process of telling you everything from lane assist to park assist. Nothing works as far as cruise control blind spot warning nothing I all says needs to he serviced. When this happens if they vehicle is cruise control you lose cruise control until the vehicle decides you can have it back. We’ve Had the loaner for 2 weeks and it happens every single day at least twice a day. Around the same times every day.
