Instrument cluster gauge panel. It doesn't work, and other gladiator models have been recalled for the same issues. Issues with radio, have taken it in many times for same issues and nothing changed, wiring doesn't work properly under seats and on driver door. The green busbox was faulty from factory, can't have glove box in due to interfering with wires behide it.

Instrument cluster display quit working just black screen

Nov 15, 2025

The digital instrument cluster in my 2020 Jeep Gladiator has failed. The center display (LCD) went completely black, even though the backlight still glows faintly. This screen typically displays critical information such as vehicle speed, warnings, messages, and alerts. Without this display, I cannot monitor key safety information while driving. The analog gauges still function, but the central digital panel remains blank regardless of ignition mode (RUN or ON). After diagnosing the issue myself, I confirmed power was present at the fuse terminals. I inspected and replaced fuse F36, which was damaged and likely contributed to the display losing power or shorting. I also inspected related fuses F43 and F57 (BCM and IOD power supply), which were intact. This is not an isolated problem. Research shows that other Jeep Gladiator owners (especially 2020 models) are experiencing identical symptoms — black instrument displays, “Push Brake to Start” messages that stay on after shutdown, and modules not entering proper sleep mode. These issues align with the symptoms listed in TSB 08-002-21A, which relates to software and communication faults between the BCM and IPC. Jeep dealership confirmed the failure and quoted $700–$1,000 for full cluster replacement, stating there are no DTC codes and no reflash updates available, and that the cluster must be replaced outright. Jeep has not issued a recall, yet this is clearly a widespread failure affecting visibility and safety of vehicle operation. The problem poses a safety risk to myself and others. I cannot see alerts or diagnostic messages while driving. If this happened at night or during highway travel, it could increase accident risk. Jeep should issue a recall or warranty coverage extension for the instrument cluster failure in affected 2020 Gladiators.

The information screen in the instrument cluster between the speedometer and tachometer went blank. Sometimes it will light up blue or even function. The screen is the display for fuel, temperature, odometer, gear selected, etc. From what I have read this happens to many of these vehicles. The fix dealers are using is to use remanufactured parts which are back ordered with no known date of delivery. I am informed the remanufactured part is about $500 not including labor. The vehicle will run and drive, however I won't know how much gas I have, I don't know if the vehicle is overheating, and I don't know how many miles I have traveled without trying to track it. If I want the new part to have an accurate odometer I have to leave it with the dealer for an unknown period of time. This seems potentially unsafe and likely to impact many vehicles given that the part is remanufactured and back ordered. A systemic flaw of this nature seems like something which could warrant a safety recall.

The Instrument Panel Cluster has failed and is blank rendering the vehicle unsafe to drive as vital information is not being presented to the driver. Despite this Jeep Gladiator having been produced and sold in 2020, Stellantis Recall and Customer Service Departments are claiming that the VIN does not indicate there is Recall coverage despite the 2019-2024 NHTSA Safety Recall for this known failure. see: [XXX] The local dealer, Hilltop Jeep, in Richmond, CA has confirmed the failure of the Instrument Panel. Stellantis is not willing to remedy the problem. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Rearview camera stays on while vehicle is going from reverse to drive causing a distraction an a safety concern

Jan 20, 2025

Instrument panel cluster stopped working. Therefore, I do not know my speed, how much gas I have, if my car is in four-wheel-drive, tire, pressure, and many other notifications that are located in this instrument panel I went to CMA Jeep dealer in Martinsburg West Virginia, they did verify that this instrument panel cluster was the issue, but they said this my vin was not under the recall. I’m confused as to why there’s no recall on this particular vin when clearly its and issue, but other 2020 jeep gladiators there is a recall on this particular part. Why is my Jeep not part of this recall.

When driving over 50 mph and hit a small bump the jeep goes to shacking "death wobble". I have taken it to the dealership where I had purchased it, and they looked and stated it was a recall. This was back in March 2024. Here it is end of October 2024 and still waiting on the part to be shipped to the dealer ship so it can be fixed. It is unsafe to drive as it is. And is my only vehicle. What is taking so long on the parts

IPC Instrument Panel Cluster started on/off in the digital dash screen since Wednesday morning but coming back to my Moms house it went off. I was able to drive my vehicle back, parked. I got stomach sickness until Sunday I went to turned on vehicle and it didn't started. Now it got me confused. Is it the IPC or the batteries? Vehicle opens, locks but didn't started. Plan on calling authorized dealer for Jeep since I changed the battery this past year for shutting off, think like December 2023. Hopefully, it gets resolved but it might been the IPC since a few vehicles including Gladiator model from 2020 was included. NHTSA Recall number 24V652000. Also Manufacturer Recall Number: 30B fyi.

Multiple issues occuring starting (documented) at 22,719 miles (09/27/2022) - stop/start and remote start had not been functioning properly - vehicle died. Required towing to dealer. Both batteries were dead. Upon leaving dealer they had not reconnected stop/start. Fast forward to 05/04/2024 and vehicle once again unchargeable to start. Took warrantied battery back to dealer and they wanted us to tow it there to check. We spent 350.91 to replace ourselves due to a lack of confidence with Jeep. Then on 05/20/2024 took it to a 4x4 center and discovered multiple issues with vehicle from manufacturing and dealer work. To start -- 1) the rear differential pinion seal is leaking 2) the power stearing box is aluminum and showed signs of flex and contact 3) dealer installed lift was incomplete leaving the front axle off center (visually observed about a 3" offset).

Regarding my 2020 Jeep Gladiator. Rear Window Cracks Around Rear Glass Frame. On [XXX], I took my Gladiator to Jeep dealership to repair leak in roof that wasn't covered under warranty. It was in the seal of the roof panels which they said many Gladiators are experiencing. Paid $402 out of pocket to have those seals repaired. At that service visit, the service attendant advised me that they are aware of a structural defeat causing cracks around the seal of the rear window. They said the whole rear window needs to be replaced at an out of pocket cost to the consumer of $1800. Jeep Warranty nor our extended warranty covers any of it. Also there is no recall for it! They told us to call Jeep to complain as they didn't think this was right. They were going to call as well. I called the number they gave me 1-877-426-5337 and the rep said it wasn't covered but gave me a case number and said he would pass on our complaint. Being a defect and a large window, it could most definitely be a safety issue and we feel Jeep should issue a recall. I believe many consumers out there are beginning to have this same issue. The Gladiator first came out in 2019 and issues with them are just coming to light. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Some problems with the clutch and the manufacturer doesn't have the parts to fix the recall issue

Oct 3, 2023

The visor on the driver's side, while driving and moving from the front position to the side to cover the driver's side window, fell out and was hanging over the steering wheel while again driving. It was very startling while driving and could have led to an accident due to blocking the driver vision while dangling. As I was unable to pull over, I was able to push it back into the left side frame and lock it back into the right side visor holder all while still having to drive. I had the visor fixed under original warranty. Just last week, the same thing happened on the passenger side. Since I was out of initial warranty and although I have extended warranty, I searched the problem to see if there was an online solution. Apparently, it is a known issue with the Jeep and while I was picking up my vehicle from the second repair of the same type issue, another Jeep was being processed in for the same visor repair. The repair was completed at Community Motors, LLC, 500 Westin Oaks Dr., Hammond, La. 70403. Phone: 985-345-0401 Although nothing happened to me, the fact that the initial visor broke while in the process of driving on the interstate and startled me and impeded my vision, an accident could have occurred.

For the 2nd time, the latches that secure the soft top have failed to keep the soft top secured to the vehicle. Once in 2020 and now in 2023. MPH in 2023 was 65 and with 21000 miles on it.

While driving several warnings lights illuminate: traction control, ABS, air bad, service 4 wd, and brake. When this happens power steering is lost making it extremely hard to steer the car. The brakes are automatically engaged and occasionally the windshield wiper turns on. This causes a risk not only to myself and passengers but anyone driving near me as I can no longer steer with ease and the brakes lock up. My Gladiator has been at the Jeep dealer for 10 weeks while they try to solve the problem. They replaced the ABS module but that didn't solve the issue. I'm told that its electrical and whatever it is will harm several systems. My wife's 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL has the exact same issues. She has a very hard time controlling it due to no power steering.

Lost Power Steering, 5/22/2023. 4 Orange Check lights came on. 1)Tried to start the car remotely, with secondary key. No start. 2)Tried again standing next to it. No start. 3)Got in and pushed brake and started car. All the same check lights came on that did 4/19. Engine, ABS and 4WD. Maybe another Shifter warning. 4)Pulled out of driveway with ½ the error lights on. Lost power steering 100 yards in the neighborhood. 5)U Turn with no PS, back to house, let it sit all day till 3PM while waiting for towing. Did not scan, Did not disconnect battery. 3PM, Came home from work, started the car with remote. Only 1 check engine light and now power steering is back. Delivered to Jeep Dealer, Hetrick Jeep Dodge, Elton, MD. by tow truck.

On Wednesday, March 9, 2023, my wife pulled down the passenger visor to put on make-up and noticed the part of the visor that pivots dropped out of its socket and the visor was just drooping down at that point. She had to push that visor part back into the socket to get it to stay somewhat. Now, every time she pulls down the visor it does the same thing. I've seen on this website (NHTSA) and the Gladiator Forum that this is a known and widespread safety issue that apparently Jeep has not decided to announce a recall on. When I went in for an oil change and tire rotation today, Thursday, March 10, 2023 at the David Stanley Dodge/Jeep dealership in Midwest City, OK and advised them of the problem with the visor, they stated I was out of warranty and that they could order me one for $330 with tax parts/labor. According to what I've read about the problems with the visors, perhaps a replacement for two visors would be in order, but that would cost $660. I advised the dealership that I didn't feel like I should have to pay for a replacement if the visor issue is a known defect. The dealership advised me that I could call the Jeep Help Line.

WHEN DRIVING THE SPEED LIMIT ON THE HIGHWAY (70MPH) we experienced some rough road. The steering wheel and the whole vehicle began to shake. This has happened several times and the shaking stopped when we slowed down significantly. Thankfully there were no cars in our immediate vicinity or this could have caused and accident. WE are reporting this to the dealership today. A search on social media reported many other people having this same problem.

Dec 14, 2022

On 12/2/22 while driving at 70 mph, I suddenly lost power steering. Every system warning light came on and windshield wipers began running when this happened. I managed to get it to the side of the road, but it has zero gauges, no acceleration, cannot shift, and cannot be shut off. After 30 minutes, the warnings began to clear themselves and I was able to safely drive it to a dealer. The battery was assumed to be the issue and it was replaced. Picked the vehicle back up on 12/7/22 and the exact same scenario occurred on 12/13/22; highway speeds, complete loss of power steering, multiple system warnings, wind shield wipers began running. Once again, couldn’t shift it and couldn’t shut it off. I timed the process the second time. At exactly 30 minutes, it began resetting itself and I was able to drive it home before delivering it to the dealership this morning.

The driver side sun visor collapsed while I was driving over 60 mph on the freeway on a vehicle under 3K mileage. It appears this issue is common for many jeep owners. Aside from the reactionary swerve to a random object falling & obscuring your view while driving on the freeway, I managed to regain control, pull over and wedge it back temporarily. Apparently it's not an easy fix and glue does not work.

While exiting the vehicle from the front passenger door, I put my left hand on the door frame to close the front door. Simultaneously, the passenger in the rear passenger side exited the vehicle and closed the door. One of my fingers got caught between the door frame and the door and severed part of my my finger off. While I understand closing the door on my hand is not Jeeps fault, the normal result of closing the door on a finger is not instant amputation! I used a stick to see if I could replicate the results, and 100% of the time the door snapped the stick when placed above the door hinge. If that had been a childs hand, it would have cut it clean off.

THE ROOF LEAKS IN THE CENTER FRONT AND WILL UNEXPECTEDLY HIT THE DRIVER WITH WATER WHILE DRIVING. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER SERVICE MANAGER THAT ALL JEEPS LEAK AND THAT HE WOULD TRY TO FIX IT BUT IT WOULD LIKELY GET WORSE. IT IS A DANGEROUS EVENT TO GET HIT BY WATER WHILE DRIVING WITHOUT WARNING. THIS IS A NEW JEEP 2020 GLADIATOR. SINCE I AM TOLD IT CAN'T BE FIXED IT WOULD BE CONSIDERED A DANGEROUS FLAW. THEY HAVE OFFERED FOR ME TO DRIVE TO ANOTHER DEALER IN ANOTHER CITY TO ATTEMPT REPAIR. WITH WHAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT SEEMS TO BE AN AVOIDANCE.

I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE 3 DAYS. AT 40+ MPH, THE VEHICLE DRIFTS IN THE LANE. THERE SEEM TO BE A DEAD SPOT IN THE STEERING. DIDN'T NOTICE IT DURING THE TEST DRIVE, AS WE DIDN'T GO ON THE HIGHWAY AND GET OVERC40 FOR ANY LENGTH OF TIME. I DRIVE 25 MILES ONE WAY TO WORK, SO I NOTICED IT A LOT TODAY. THIS IS A $44,000 VEHICLE, IT SHOULD NOT DO THIS. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT MONDAY AT 8 AM FOR THE RUNNING BOARDS, I WILL DEFINITELY BRING THIS UP.

THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A FORWARD COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM THAT IS DESIGNED TO BOTH ALERT OF AN IMPENDING COLLISION AND APPLY BRAKES, IF NECESSARY. THE SYSTEM CAN BE SET TO: OFF, ALERT ONLY OR ALERT W/ EMERGENCY BRAKING. THE SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. IN FACT, IT WORKS SO IN FREQUENTLY THAT I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER. THEY EVALUATED IT FOR 3 DAYS AND FOUND NOTHING DIAGNOSTICALLY WRONG. THE FACTS THAT I CAN CONFIRM ARE AS FOLLOWS: OCCASIONALLY THE ALERT WARNING SOUND WILL CHIME BUT THE BRAKES DO NOT ACTIVATE. I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO ASCERTAIN WHAT CONDITIONS ALLOW THE SYSTEM TO ACTUALLY ACTIVATE AND WORK PROPERLY. FOR EXAMPLE, I HAVE HAD THE ALERT CHIME WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN IN FRONT OF ME BUT DURING THAT SAME DRIVE, WHEN A SECOND VEHICLE MAKES A SIMILAR RIGHT TURN, THE SYSTEM DOES NOT ALERT ME.

UNSURE OF WHAT THE ISSUE IS BUT HAVE OCCASIONAL ISSUES WITH CLUTCH AND STEERING IS VERY LOOSE.

WHILE DRIVING FOR ABOUT AN HOUR DOESN'T MATTER WHAT SPEED IT IS ALL OF THE SUDDEN THERE IS HOT AIR COMING IN FROM THE FRONT FEET SPACE BY THE PEDALS, YOU CAN FEEL IT IN PASSENGER SIDE ALSO. ( AC IS ON AND BLOWING COLD AIR AND THE RECIRCULATE BUTTON IS ON) UPPER VENT BLOW COLD AIR WHILE THIS HAPPENS. I HAD TAKEN IT TO DEALERSHIP TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT BUT THE COMPUTER DOESN'T SHOW ANYTHING SO IT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. IN ALL THE YEARS I HAVE OWN A OTHER VEHICLES I HAD NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS SO THIS IS NOT NORMAL AND VERY UNCOMFORTABLE WHEN YOU ARE WEARING OPEN TOE SHOES. I ASKED DEALERSHIP TO DRIVE IT SO THEY CAN EXPERIENCE SO THEY WILL TAKE A LOOK AT IT AGAIN WHEN THE OTHER RECALL PART COMES IN. I NOTICE IT SINCE THE FIRST WEEK I TOOK OWNERSHIP.
