2 recalls have not been taken care of by the manufacturer. I purchased this vehicle 2 years ago and have noticed that the seats do indeed over heat. The airbags haven't deployed thankfully, but I'm not comfortable taking any chances. Do I have to pay a dealer to complete these repairs? Also, since I have had this vehicle, my blinkers and brake lights do not work consistently. They were in operable for almost a month. I had a Mechanix check them, and they said they were dine. Homer's auto shop florence oregon) I didn't drive at night for almost a month. Then my blinkers just started working again. All the fuses are fine, and no other electrical issues. Brake lights started working also. Up until 3 days ago, a driver behind me pulled around next to me at the stop light to tell me the brake light was out. I checked it when I got home and it was fine.

While driving at low speed, the side curtain airbags deployed along with the front seat belts. No injuries just stunted by the loud bang. I took car to Jeep dealership to have recall R06/15v-046 repaired and to diagnose cause of side curtain airbags deployment. Dealer would not repair recall R06/15v-046 due to the requirement that the side curtain and seat belts be repaired before making the recall repairs. Side curtain airbags repair was not accomplished because some repair parts are no longer available (seatbelts/headliner). Dealer indicated that, even if they could have repaired side curtain airbags that the cost of the side curtain airbags repair would be on me. Dealer charged me for a diagnostic of side curtain airbags deployment. I feel that the manufacturer is responsible for the defects and are responsible for restitution. Subject car has airbags light on know but not beforehand. What is my recourse now that my car is unsafe with no repair available and of little value?

ON FRIDAY OCTOBER 9,2020 APPROX. 5:56 PM I WAS COMING OUT OF ACME PARKING LOT, STATIONARY AT TRAFFIC LIGHT AWAITING A GREEN LIGHT . ALL CAR WINDOWS WERE UP, AC ON. NEXT THING I KNEW I HEARD A "DING" AND BEFORE I KNEW IT, BOTH AIR BAGS DEPLOYED , SHATTERING PASSENGER GLOVE BOX APART, SENDING DEBRIS AND PLASTIC IN MY FACE. DRIVER STEERING WHEEL DESTROYED. ENTIRE VEHICLE FILLED WITH "FIRE LIKE SMELL" FROM DUAL AIR BAG DEPLOYING. NO INJURIES TO MYSELF, NO ONE ELSE IN VEHICLE WITH ME AT TIME OF INCIDENT. NO ACCIDENT OF ANY KIND HAD OCCURRED THAT WOULD EXPLAIN DUAL AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT WITHOUT ANY IMPACT TO VEHICLE. I CAN PROVIDE PHOTOS UPON REQUEST. THIS IS DEFINITELY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT.

I BELIEVE THEY FIXED IT AROUND 11/07/2016. THE SEATBELT AND AIRBAG CAME ON AROUND 6/3/2017. IT IS STILL ON TODAY, I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT THAT DEFECT IN MY VEHICLE.

I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS NOTHING THEY DID, WAS VERY RUDE TO US AND SAID THEY COULDN'T FIX IT UNLESS WE PAID FOR REPAIRS. THE HANDLING OF THE RECALL FOR THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE HAS BEEN VERY POOR. I WAS NOTIFIED IN FEBRUARY OF THIS ISSUE. THE LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT (SAN LEANDRO JEEP) HAS BEEN HORRIBLE. I HAVE BEEN THERE THREE DIFFERENT TIMES IN THE PAST SEVERAL WEEKS, AFTER CHECKING IN SEVERAL TIMES PRIOR FOR AN UPDATE ON THE REPLACEMENT PARTS. THE FIRST TIME, THEY KEPT THE CAR OVERNIGHT AND SOMEHOW DID NOT GET THE JOB IN THE SYSTEM SO MY CAR WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN FOLLOW UP, THEY SET UP ANOTHER APPOINTMENT AND WHEN I DROPPED MY CAR OFF AGAIN, AT THAT TIME I WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT HAVE THE SAFETY REPLACEMENT PART. NOT ONLY HAS THE MANUFACTURER BEEN SLOW TO THE POINT OF AVOIDANCE IN ADDRESSING THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, THE LOCAL DEALERSHIPS ARE UNDER PREPARED AND UNTRAINED IN HOW TO PROVIDE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

DEAR SIR/MADAM: THIS CONCERNS THE M35 RECALL RELATING TO THE JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE (2003 IN MY CASE). YESTERDAY, 2-26-14, THE DEALERSHIP SUPPOSEDLY PERFORMED THE FIX TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. THIS WAS THE 3RD TIME THAT I HAD MADE AN APPOINTMENT AFTER THEY HAD PRESUMABLY GOTTEN THE PARTS NEEDED TO DO THE JOB. THE PREVIOUS 2 TIMES, IN MARCH AND SEPTEMBER 2013, AFTER GETTING TO THE DEALERSHIP AND CONSIDERABLE WAITING, I ENDED BEING TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT PERFORM THE SERVICE BECAUSE THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS--'PRIOR TO MARCH 2013, THEY SAID NOT TO KNOW WHAT PARTS WERE NEEDED. THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS THAT THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT IS STILL ON AND THEY REFUSED TO FIX IT ALLEGING THAT THE RECALL DID NOT PROVIDE FOR THAT. I FOUND THIS ILLOGICAL. ON THE ONE HAND, I BELIEVE THE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM AND, ON THE OTHER HAND, THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THEY HAVE NOW FIXED THE PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. AROUND THE TIME CHRYSLER JEEP INFORMED OF THE PROBLEM, MY AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT TURNED ON. I FIRST RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN JAN 2013 AND HAVE MADE NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO HAVE THE RECALL CORRECTED TO NO AVAIL THROUGH A REGISTERED CHRYSLER DEALER. I AM TOLD THE PARTS ARE JUST NOT AVAILABLE AS OF YET. I WAS TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES AT 45 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. IT STAYED ON FOR ALMOST 10 MINUTES THEN WENT OFF, THEN CAME BACK ON AGAIN WITHIN 5 MINUTES. I WAS VERY FRIGHTENED SINCE THE RECALL NOTICE STATES THAT IT IS POSSIBLE FOR THE AIRBAG TO INADVERTENTLY DEPLOY AFTER THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON. I CALLED THE DEALER AGAIN AS SOON AS I RETURNED HOME TO ADVISE THEM AND REMIND THEM THEY HAD ME ON A LIST. HOWEVER, I WAS TOLD THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE, SO THEY GAVE ME A TOLL FREE NUMBER 800-992-1997 WHICH I CALLED AND WAS TOLD ONCE AGAIN THAT AS OF NOW THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND TO JUST CONTINUE DRIVING THE CAR. I HOPE THE AIRBAG DOES NOT DEPLOY WHILE I AM DRIVING CAUSING A HEART ATTACK OR FATAL CAR CRASH.

I WAS TOLD MY CAR WOULD BE REPAIRED WHEN THE PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE. IT IS NOW MAY 28, 2013 AND THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL JEEP DEALER AS WELL AS CHRYSLER CORPORATION. AFTER CONDUCTING BUSINESS AT A DRIVE IN BANK CONSUMER PROCEEDED TO LEAVE. CONSUMER PLACED FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED. THEN, HE APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, HOWEVER, IT DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. IT STROKE A FOUR FOOT EMBANKMENT, THE ONLY THING THAT STOPPED THE VEHICLE WAS A CONCRETE RETAINING WALL, WHICH WAS STRUCK AT 30 MPH. I WAS AT A BANK DRIVE THROUGH TELLER AND HAD PLACED MY VEHICLE INTO PARK TO DO MY PAPERWORK. WHEN I FINISHED I PLACED MY FOOT ON THE BREAK AND PLACED THE CAR INTO DRIVE. THE CAR TOOK OFF LIKE A ROCKET. I APPLIED THE BREAKS AND THE EMERGENCY BREAK WITH VERY LITTLE OR NO EFFECT. THE CAR PRODUCED OVER 40 FEET OF SKID THEN VAULTED OVER A DRAINAGE DITCH ABOUT 15 FEET WIDE. IT THE IMPACTED ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE DITCH WITH SUFFICIENT FORCE TO RIP OFF MY FRONT LICENSE PLATE. THE CAR CONTINUED TO MOVE UNTIL IT STRUCK A BRICK RETAINING WALL. THE ABS SYSTEM AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT WORK AT ALL. THE TOTAL DISTANCE TRAVELED WAS WELL OVER 200 FEET. *NM
