I scheduled a recall appointment for my Jeep Grand Cherokee. The dealer confirmed that the appointment was scheduled and that the necessary recall part had been ordered. However, when I arrived, my vehicle was parked and no work was started. I was not given an estimated repair time, and after waiting for 3 hours, no progress had been made. This recall is mandatory, and the dealer failed to complete it. I am reporting this as a safety issue and request that the matter be investigated.
On 10/21/21 myself and my child (rear passenger in booster safety seat) were in a solo vehicle accident that resulted in our vehicle hitting an embankment before rolling 3x landing on the wheels again in the right position on the same side of vehicle we originally had impact. We were less than 1 mile from our home, headed to school, there was no unsafe conditions, and I don't have any memory of the morning or accident due to severe injury and brain injury, but there's no reason or logical reason for me to be driving in the manner or at the speeds that I was. I passed a car in front of me on a very rural road right as we came upon the almost figure 8 curves on a road I drive everyday. The people I passed and many witnesses including my small child stated that I was gaining more speed as we came to the sharp curves, I crashed at approximately 65-70mph on a 30mph road, there were no brake marks or any sign of an attempt to slow down on my part, but I have too wonder because I am not sure anything that would have made me want to drive that recklessly, especially when I had my child in the vehicle. My child was asked what was happening before we wrecked and she said she heard a pop sound? And I said "oh [XXX]", that was the last thing that happened. We rolled 3x with not one airbag deploying, and the way that the jeep is caved in, I am very much interested in this model being looked over for structural flaws, pictures will be provided. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND HIT ANOTHER CAR THAT WAS STATIONARY ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAD IMPACT ON THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF MY TRUCK, FLIPPING THEIR CAR AS WELL AS MY TRUCK. MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I HAD NO INDICATION LIGHTS ON MY DASH AND HAD NO KNOWN ELECTRICAL ISSUES. LUCKY THE CAR I HIT WAS UNOCCUPIED AND I RECIEVED A FEW MINOR INJURIES.

TAKATA RECALL. CLOCK WILL NOT GO OFF AT ANYTIME, SO BATTERY GOES DOWN OVERNIGHT ALL THE TIME. BRAKE AND ABS LIGHTS STAYS ON WHILE DRIVING. IGNITION KEY DOESN'T MATCH DOOR NOR HATCH LOCKS. THE EXHAUST SYSTEM HAS VIBRATION AT TIMES WHEN IN MOTION. WHEN TEST DRIVING THIS VEHICLE I JUST ASSUMED THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN SITTING WITH AN OLDER BATTERY WAS WHY IT NEEDED TO BE JUMPED. THEN AFTER I GOT IT HOME AND IT SAT OVERNIGHT AND I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM; I THOUGHT I'D LEFT SOMETHING TURNED ON. THEN I DISCOVERED THAT THE CLOCK WILL NOT GO OFF. TAKATA RECALL - HAD MY 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE IN FOR THE RECALL IN JANUARY 2018. THEY FIXED AIRBAG RECALL AND PROBLEM SEATBELT LIGHT CONSTANTLY BEING ON EVEN WHEN DRIVER IS CORRECTLY SEATBELTED IN- THE LIGHT STAYS ON. NOW, IT IS AUGUST 27, 2018 AND BOTH AIR BAG LIGHT AND SEAT BELT LIGHT ARE BACK ON. ALSO, THE FUEL TANK SKID PLATE IS COMPLETELY RUSTED THROUGH. THIS LEAVES THE GAS TANK FULLY EXPOSED, LEAVING YOU SUSCEPTIBLE TO ANY NUMBER OF POSSIBLE SCENARIOS WHERE THE FUEL TANK COULD IGNITE, ESPECIALLY IF ONE WAS TO BE REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. IT IS NOT PROTECTED BY "SOLUTION" TO REPLACE THE TOW BAR PACKAGE. I KNOW SERVERAL OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE AND FUEL TANK SKID PLATE RUSTING THROUGH COMPLETELY. THIS COMBINATION OF THE TAKATA AIRBAGS DEPLOYING UNEXPECTEDLY ALONG WITH THE EXPOSED FUEL TANK, & TRULY ENDANGERS THE LIVES OF THE DRIVER, ALL OCCUPANTS AND POTENTIALLY ANYONE ELSE IN THE VICINITY, IF ONE OR BOTH WE'RE TO EXPLODE. "TAKATA RECALL" IN DECEMBER, 2016, I TOOK MY VEHICLE FOR A RECALL (OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROL MODULE). I RECEIVED THE SAFETY RECALL IN THE MAIL. BEFORE I TOOK MY VEHICLE THE SEAT BELT LIGHT WAS ON. AFTER THE RECALL THE SEAT BELT LIGHT WAS STILL ON AND STARTED MAKING A NOISE IN MY VEHICLE THAT GOES ON AND OFF WITH THE SEAT BELT LIGHT. I DID NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM BEFORE I TOOK IT. I KNOW THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS NOISE. THEY NOW WANT TO CHARGE ME 300.00 OR MORE TO DIAGNOSIS THE PROBLEM. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY ANY MONIES TO FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY CAR. I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL FOR MY VEHICLE. IT STATED THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AS OF YET. I WAITED A FULL YEAR, CALLED THE SCRANTON DODGE DEALER NEAR ME, AND STILL NO PARTS AVAILABLE. I THEN MADE AN APPOINTMENT IN THE SUMMER OF 2016, ONLY FOR THEM TO TELL ME THEY WILL CALL ME BACK WHEN THE PARTS COME IN. HE TOLD ME HE DOESN'T HAVE ALL THE PARTS AND WOULD HAVE TO ORDER MORE. WHY DID THEY TELL ME THEY HAD THE PARTS WHEN THEY REALLY DIDN'T? WHY DIDN'T I RECEIVE A CALL THE FIRST DAY IT WAS THERE LETTING ME KNOW? WHY CANT I GET THIS DANGEROUS RECALL REPAIRED? I FOUND OUT THAT THE FIRST AIRBAG REPAIR DID NOT WORK AND THEY WERE SCHEDULING FOR THE SECOND REPAIR. AT THE TIME I TOOK MY CAR IN THEY NOT ONLY DIDN'T HAVE THE NECESSARY PARTS TO DO THE 2ND AIRBAG REPAIR BUT I ASKED THEM WHEN THE TRAILER HITCHES WERE GOING TO BE AVAILABLE FOR THAT REPAIR AND STRANGELY MY VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER ON THAT RECALL. WHICH MADE ME VERY SUSPICIOUS AS TO WHY I WAS FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN DROPPED. I FIGURED THEY WERE REDOING THE RECALL LIST TO MAKE IT LESS BUT MY PROBLEM IS THAT I NEED A SAFE CAR AS I TRANSPORT MY GRANDCHILD AND 86 YEAR OLD MOTHER IN MY CAR. WHAT KIND OF GAMES ARE THEY PLAYING? I WOULD LIKE ASSISTANT WITH GETTING THE 2 RECALLS TAKEN CARED OF OR HAVE THE BUY BACK OPTION OF THE $1,000 OVER MARKET VALUE THAT I HAVE READ ABOUT SO I CAN TRAVEL SAFELY WITH MY FAMILY IN A SAFE CAR.
OUR JEEP WAS RECALLED IN NOV OF 2012 FOR FAULTY AIRBAGS THAT COULD DEPLOY AND CAUSE A CRASH WITHOUT WARNING. WE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE RIGHT IN FOR REPAIRS AND HAVE SINCE BEEN DRIVING IT AROUND WITH TWO CHILDREN IN IT. WE THEN RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE IN JAN 2015 STATING THAT THE ORIGINAL REPAIR DOES NOT SATISFACTORILY ELIMINATE THE POTENTIAL FOR INADVERTENT DEPLOYMENTS. WE HAVE SINCE USED THE VEHICLE ONLY WHEN NEEDED, BUT NOT WITH OUR CHILDREN IN THE CAR, AND HAVE YET TO BE CONTACTED TO FIX THE PROBLEM THAT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE A CRASH. WE HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM, AND HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THEY WILL HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM THAT CAN POTENTIALLY CAUSE A CRASH. TODAY WHEN WE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND SAID THAT WE HAVE BARELY DRIVEN THE CAR IN SEVEN MONTHS AND WE NEED TO KNOW IF THE VEHICLE IS AT LEAST "SAFE TO DRIVE", WE WERE TOLD THAT THEY DON'T KNOW IF IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE AND THEY ALSO STILL DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY WILL BE ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM A CAMPING TRIP WITH MY FAMILY ON 9/2/13 ON HWY 2 IN LAUREL HILL, FL, TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH ON A TWO-LANE ROAD WHEN THE AIR BAG LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD ILLUMINATED AND SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE DRIVER-SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. NANOSECONDS LATER THE PASSENGER-SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. I MANAGED TO KEEP FROM RUNNING OFF THE ROAD AND PULLED OFF ONTO THE NARROW SHOULDER. MY WIFE'S KNEE WAS HURT PRETTY BADLY AS THE DASH OPENED UP AND HIT HER KNEE WHEN THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED TEARING THE SKIN OFF HER LEFT KNEE AND BRUISING BOTH THE KNEE AND SURROUNDING TISSUE AND THE INNER PORTION OF HER RIGHT KNEE AS WELL. FOR THE LAST 6 MONTHS "AIR BAG" LIGHT COMES "ON" AND REMAINS AND GOES 'OFF' INTERMITTENTLY. I TOOK THE CAR TO PERKINS EASTSIDE, CRESTWOOD, KY-502-241-3042. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE "EVENT" OF "AIR BAG ON" IS NOT BEING RECORDED BY THE COMPUTER AND THEY CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM. TODAY, I WENT TO THE DEALER WHILE THE LIGHT IS "ON" AND STILL COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE AIR BAG CONTROLLER MODULE IS FAULTY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I AM AFRAID THAT THE AIR BAG WONT DEPLOY IN CASE OF EMERGENCY.
