On 10/21/21 myself and my child (rear passenger in booster safety seat) were in a solo vehicle accident that resulted in our vehicle hitting an embankment before rolling 3x landing on the wheels again in the right position on the same side of vehicle we originally had impact. We were less than 1 mile from our home, headed to school, there was no unsafe conditions, and I don't have any memory of the morning or accident due to severe injury and brain injury, but there's no reason or logical reason for me to be driving in the manner or at the speeds that I was. I passed a car in front of me on a very rural road right as we came upon the almost figure 8 curves on a road I drive everyday. The people I passed and many witnesses including my small child stated that I was gaining more speed as we came to the sharp curves, I crashed at approximately 65-70mph on a 30mph road, there were no brake marks or any sign of an attempt to slow down on my part, but I have too wonder because I am not sure anything that would have made me want to drive that recklessly, especially when I had my child in the vehicle. My child was asked what was happening before we wrecked and she said she heard a pop sound? And I said "oh [XXX]", that was the last thing that happened. We rolled 3x with not one airbag deploying, and the way that the jeep is caved in, I am very much interested in this model being looked over for structural flaws, pictures will be provided. OTHER ISSUE IS THE CRUISE CONTROLLER KICKS ON AND THE RPM SPIKES TO RED ZONNNNE THE ONLY WAY TO DISENGAGE IT IS TO TURN VEHICLE OFF THEN BACK ON!!!

"TAKATA RECALL" MY DRIVER'S SEAT HAS BEEN REPLACE ONCE, AT MY OWN EXPENSE, DUE THE SEAT BECOMING EXTREMELY "WOBBLY" AND BEING BROKEN FROM THE BEASE FRAME AND FRAME UNDER SEAT. I WAS ON HIGHWAY DRIVING WHEN THE SEAT FIRST BECAME SLIGHTLY UNSTABLE, HAD I UNFORNATUNATELY BEEN STRUCK FROM THE REAR, I WOULD'VE BEEN VIOLENTLY THROWN FORWARD. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS MATTER AND FOUND THAT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL FOR THE 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LAREDO WJ, YET I FOUND NOTHING ON THIS SITE. MAY 13,11 TOWED INTO JEEP DEALER, CHANGED SEVERAL COMPONENTS AND $1,074.68, NEVER HAD A DEFINITE ANSWER, AND AFTER EACH INCIDENT TOOK ITS TOLL ON MY NERVES, SCARED TO DEATH TO DRIVE MY JEEP, WHICH I PURCHASED TO MAKE OUR FAMILY SAFE. FAST FORWARD, 11/23/2015 THIS JEEP ONCE AGAIN STARTED ACCELERATING AND RACING IN PARK AND WITH THE HAND BRAKE UP. MY JEEP HAS 64,K AND IS TAKEN CARE OF, LOOKS GREAT. BUT, ONCE AGAIN I CANNOT RISK PUTTING MY FAMILY OR MYSELF IN IT TO DRIVE. I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS STORIES LIKE THIS AND SOME A LOT WORSE. MY INSTINCTS WERE TO JUST SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND I DID ALL4 TIMES OVER THE YEARS. I AM NOW ON A FIXED INCOME AND WOULD LOVE TO BE HAPPY AND KEEP THIS JEEP GRAND CHEROEE BUT, I CAN NO LONGER TAKE THIS CHANCE. FAILED NJ INSPECTION 1 TIME DUE TO WHAT THEY CALLED A WIG WAG, WHICH JEEPS ARE KNOW FOR, WHO OUT THERE IS ON THE CONSUMERS SIDE, NO ONE IT APPEARS. NO RECALLS ON THIS THIS BUT, THEY WILL GET BACK TO ME ON A PASSENGER RESTRAINT MODULE, MAYBE NEXT YEAR 2016, IF WE ARE LUCKY. ALL 4 TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN AND THE ONLY THING THAT WORKED WAS SHUTTING OFF THE ENGINE USING THE KEY. MY VEHICLE MUST BE SAFE FOR GRANDCHILD.

(RELATING TO THE DRIVER-SIDE SEAT ONLY) MY DAUGHTER AND I WAS WAITING AT A TRAFFIC STOP, (I WAS DRIVING) WHEN THE LIGHT TURN GREEN I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR AND MY ENTIRE SEAT INCLUDING MYSELF SWUNG BACK. BECAUSE OF THE BACKWARD MOMENTUM, IT CAUSES ME TO ABRUPTLY PRESS FURTHER ON THE ACCELERATOR. I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND PULL ON THE SIDE TO INSPECT THE SEAT. I FOUND THAT THE TWO FRONT BRACKETS UNDER THE SEAT HAD BROKEN OFF. SINCE I HAD ADJUSTABLE POWER SEAT, I LOWER THE SEAT TO ALIGN THE BROKEN BRACKETS TO WEDGE UNDER THE BAR CAUSING THE SEAT TO STABILIZE OR AT LEAST HOLD IN A SEMI-SOLID POSITION. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. I ARGUED THAT THIS IS AN UNUSUAL INCIDENT WHERE I HAVE NEVER HEARD THAT THE DRIVER-SIDE SEAT BRACKETS WOULD BREAK OFF AND POSSIBLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. ESPECIALLY FOR A JEEP, THIS VEHICLE IS MEANT TO BE DRIVEN ON AND OFF ROAD. AGAIN, THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO. THERE ARE TWO ISSUES, ONE BEING THE ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE DYING ONCE THE VEHICLE IS PUT INTO A FORWARD OR REVERSE POSITION FROM EITHER REVERSE OR DRIVE POSITION. SECOND IS THE ISSUE OF THE VEHICLE SURGING FORWARD JUST PRIOR TO STOPPING. THE ENGINE WILL REV UP JUST PRIOR TO STOPPING AND START A HARD BUT LOAD RUMBLING DUE TO THE BRAKES BEING HELD AND THE VEHICLE WANTING TO DRIVE FORWARD. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY REPAIR SHOP TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE, AND IT IS VERY WEARING OF THE POSSIBILITY OF THIS ISSUE CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.

THE VEHICLE CONTINUED AT FULL THROTTLE UP TO 90 MPH UNTIL HE TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HIS MECHANIC WHO STATED THE THROTTLE HOUSING WAS WARPED; MOST LIKELY DUE TO HEAT AND IT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. *JB
WHILE PARALLEL PARKING, WITH MY RIGHT FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, I SHIFTED THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OUT OF REVERSE. IMMEDIATELY THE ENGINE RAPIDLY REVVED UP AND LURCHED FORWARD. I PRESSED MORE FIRMLY ON THE BRAKE, CAUSING THE CAR (A 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE) AND MOTOR TO PAUSE, THEN THE MOTOR RAPIDLY REVVED UP AGAIN, OVERCOMING BRAKING. HORRIFIED, AND UNABLE TO STOP THE CAR, I WATCHED AS THE CAR RACED INTO THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF ME. IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE IMPACT, THE ENGINE RETURNED TO NORMAL IDLE. I THEN CHECKED THE CAR: CRUISE CONTROL WAS OFF, MY HANDS WERE STILL GRIPPING THE STEERING WHEEL IN ORDER TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL LEVERAGE FOR MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, MY RIGHT FOOT WAS STILL FIRMLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BRAKE PEDAL AND NOT NEAR THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, AND THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER WAS IN NEUTRAL. THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF ME SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO ITS BUMPER AND TAILGATE. THIS IS THE 4TH TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH THIS VEHICLE, THE FIRST TWO OF WHICH WERE REPORTED TO YOU EARLIER. ELECTRICITY WAS OUT FROM A STORM SO THE AUTOMATIC GARAGE DOOR OPENER DID NOT OPERATE. I PARKED IN FRONT OF THE BAY, PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND OPENED THE GARAGE DOOR MANUALLY. I GOT BACK IN THE VEHICLE, STARTED THE ENGINE, PUT IT IN DRIVE AND STARTED SLOWLY INTO THE GARAGE. I WANTED TO REPOSITION THE CAR, SO I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND WAS ABOUT TO PUT IT IN REVERSE WHEN, SUDDENLY, THE ENGINE REVVED AND THE CAR SHOT FORWARD LIKE A TORPEDO. I HAD MY FOOT PLASTERED ON THE BRAKE BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP AND PLOWED INTO A GARDEN TRACTOR AT THE BACK OF THE GARAGE. DT: 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE GAS PEDAL BROKE WHILE DRIVING. THE THROTTLE CABLE THAT WAS ATTACHED TO IT BROKE. THIS CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE CONSUMER RAN INTO A BRICK WALL, PARKED CAR, AND A POLE BEFORE THE VEHICLE STOPPED. THE BRAKE WOULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. CHRYSLER WILL NOT TELL THE CONTACT ANYTHING ABOUT WHY THIS HAPPENED. NO ONE WAS INJURED THE POLICE WERE CALLED, BUT THEY DID NOT RESPOND BECAUSE IT HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN RUNNING NORMALLY PRIOR TO THIS ACCIDENT. THIS OCCURRED ON SEPTEMBER 14, 2004. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS THE AGENCY THAT FOUND THAT THE THROTTLE CABLE BROKE. WHEN BREAKING TO COME TO A STOP AT A STOP LIGHT, SLOWLY ROLLING AT ABOUT 5 MPH, THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN AND LURCHED FORWARD. I HAVE A 2004 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND WHEN TRAVELLING IN CRUISE CONTROL AT 55 MPH AND START UP A STEEP GRADE, THE TRANSMISSION WILL SHIFT OUT OF OVERDRIVE INTO 3RD GEAR, THEN IMMEDIATELY SHIFT INTO 2ND GEAR.
