1. Airbag light was on when I purchased the vehicle from SRQ in Bradenton Florida February 2020. 2. The hood handle inside the vehicle was broke replaced it, it broke again. 3. The hood will not shut properly due to the latch inside the vehicle broke. Now the Hood will not stay up by itself property, began in August 2022. 4. Both door handles inside vehicle in the back were broken now the passenger side is broken no way to open vehicle door from inside. 5. December 2022 battery light is coming on, battery is no more than 2 years old check engine light keeps coming on. 6. Sunroof is leaking inside the vehicle when it rains. Hardly ever use/open sunroof. 7. Traction control light comes on blinking quite often since I purchased a vehicle in February 2020. 8. Sometimes vehicle will go into third gear from drive and will not switch down to any other gear or back into drive. It stays in 3rd. I have to turn vehicle off then back on for it to be back into drive. Bought vehicle in February 2020 and spent well over $6,000 in repairs. I have all receipts. Have many more problems that I will send next. It only let me select 3 at a time.

The vehicle flipped down an embankment and into a creek and none of the air bags deployed, frontal or side curtains. Insurance adjuster has inspected vehicle. No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to failure.

IT STARTED OUT WITH MY KEY FOB NOT UNLOCKING MY CAR. SO I DECIDED TO UNLOCK MY CAR MANUALLY, DOING SO SET OFF THE ALARM AND HAD THE LIGHTS BLINKING AND HORN GOING OFF. SO I THEN DECIDED TO ORDER A NEW FOB WITH A NEW BATTERY (EVEN THOUGH MINE WAS NEW). THAT DIDN'T WORK, SO I DECIDED TO CALL SOMEONE TO COME PROGRAM MY FOB, THINKING THAT WAS THE ISSUE. SO THEY DID. IT WORKED FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS. THEN THE FOB DIDN'T UNLOCK MY CAR, BRAND NEW FOB, BRAND NEW BATTERY. BACK TO SQUARE 1, UNLOCKING IT MANUALLY DEALING WITH THE HORN ISSUE. THEN, 1 DAY GOT IN MY CAR, STARTED IT AND PULLED IN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS, THE HORN WENT OFF AND WOULD NOT STOP EVEN AFTER SHUTTING OFF THE CAR. IT CONTINUED TO BE AN ISSUE AND THE PROBLEM COULDN'T BE RESOLVED. SO WE PULLED THE FUSE TO MY HORN. NOW I'M DRIVING WITH NO HORN, A HAZARD. ISSUES CONTINUED, MY CAR NOW NOT ONLY WILL THE ALARM STILL GO OFF WITH FLASHING LIGHTS NOW IT'S NOT STARTING, IT'S EVEN ACTED UP WHILE DRIVING WITH THE ENGINE HAVING WEIRD SPASMS AND ACCELERATING. WORRIED BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT WITH THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE A BRAND NEW BATTERY AND EVEN GOT IT TESTED BY MECHANICS AND THEY SAID THE BATTERY WAS FINE. MY CAR HAS HUGE ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND THE AIRBAGS APPARENTLY DON'T WORK EITHER. BUT I'VE PULLED OUT FUSES AND IT SOMETIMES REBOOTS THE CAR AND WILL START NORMAL AND WORK FOR MAYBE A FEW DAYS BEFORE ACTING UP AGAIN. SOMETIMES IT WON'T EVEN START AND MAKE A CLICKING SOUND AS IF IT'S THE BATTERY BUT THEN AFTER MANY TRIES OR SOMETIMES A FEW IT'LL START. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A BIT NOW AND HAS JUST GOTTEN WORSE AND MORE WORRISOME

WELL MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF! I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND THEY REASSURED ME THE AIRBAGS ARE THERE AND HAVEN'T BEEN DEPLOYED AT ALL. BUT MY CONCERN IS THAT THE LIGHT IS ON FOR A REASON EITHER THE SEATBELTS OR THE AIRBAGS ARE FAULTY. NO MATTER IF I'M PARKED OR IF I'M IN MOTION THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON AND I WANT TO BE SAFE AND SECURE THAT IF I'M IN AN ACCIDENT I WON'T BE KILLED BECAUSE MY AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY AS THEY SHOULD! THE REAR DRIVE SHAFT IS CAUSING A RUMBLING AS YOU SPEED UP OR MAINTAIN SPEED. IT FEELS LIKE DRIVING OVER SMALL SPEED BUMPS OR RUBBLE STRIPS, EVEN WHEN THERE IS NOTHING IN THE ROAD. AIR BAG LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY FLASHING AND RENDERING CRUISE CONTROL USELESS. EVERYTHING WORK AS NECESSARY, THEN ONE DAY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO GET ON HIGHWAY, I PRESSED CRUISE CONTROL ONLY FOR IT TO FLASH IN THE DASH PANEL, THEN DISAPPEAR. ONCE OFF THE HIGHWAY TO MY DESTINATION, I TURNED THE GRAND CHEROKEE OFF. WHEN I GOT BACK IN THE VEHICLE, THE AIRBAG LIGHT STAYED ON FOR AT LEAST 15 MINUTES THEN SHUT OFF. DURING THE TIME OF THE AIR BAG LIGHT ON, I WAS ABLE TO PRESS THE CRUISE CONTROL AND HAVE IT STAY ON THE DASH PANEL, BUT I STILL HAD NO USE OF IT. ONCE THE AIR BAG LIGHT SHUT OFF, I THEN PRESSED CRUISE CONTROL AGAIN JUST FOR IT TO FLASH ON THEN BACK OFF. NOW THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT IS FLASHING OR STAYS ILLUMINATED WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BEING USED. MY JEEP JUST PASSED 125,000 MILES. THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN TO SUCHA LOW MILEAGE VEHICLE FOR THE AGE.. WHO WILL FIX THIS MESS?

"TAKATA RECALL" MY 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WAS PURCHASED USED FROM A DEALERSHIP WITH "0" OPEN RECALLS. AFTER OWNING THE VEHICLE LESS THAN 2 MONTHS, HIT A POT HOLE AND THE PASSENGERS AIR BAG DEACTIVATION LIGHT AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ARE BOTH ON. IN ADDITION, THE TIRE INFLATION INDICATOR IS ON AND WE PAID TO HAVE A NEW SENSOR INSTALLED. LIGHT IS STILL ON-BEING TOLD THERE IS A MALFUNCTION. HAVE READ OTHER COMPLAINTS FILED WHICH STATE BOTH THE AIRBAG AND TIRE SENSOR INDICATORS HAVE COME ON AT THE SAME TIME.

AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT FIRST CAME ON INTERMITTENTLY. AT ONE TIME I COULD ADJUST THE PASSENGER SEAT AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM. IT NOW STAYS ON ALL THE TIME. I SEE THAT THE 2004 MODEL HAS A RECALL, AND MINE WAS MANUFACTURED IN LATE 2004, BUT IS NOT ON THE RECALL VIN LIST. I DID NOT REALIZE THAT THIS MAY MEAN THE AIRBAG IS NOT FUNCTIONING AT ALL, BUT RATHER THOUGHT IT WAS JUST AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. THE 2005 MODEL SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL. THIS LOOKS LIKE A LONG STANDING PROBLEM WITH PREVIOUS YEARS MODELS AND OBVIOUSLY HAS NOT BEEN CORRECTED IN THE 2005 MODEL.

AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT STILL STAYS ON AFTER SWITCH REPLACEMENT. MY REASONING IS THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ORIGINALLY CAME ON BECAUSE THE ORIGINAL IGNITION SWITCH WAS FAULTY AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE AIR BAG AND/OR IT'S SENSOR CIRCUITRY. IS THERE ANY RECOURSE UNDER THIS RECALL TO RECTIFY THIS AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT PROBLEM WITH HOPEFULLY NO COST TO ME.

MY VEHICLE WAS DRIVING FINE, THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN I LOST ALL LIGHTS, ALL IGNITION, A/C EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE ENGINE. I LOST SPEEDOMETER AIRBAGS. THE PARTS HAVE TAKEN LONGER THAN A REASONABLE TIME TO BECOME AVAILABLE. MY CAR NOW LIGHTS UP (EVERY CHECK ENGINE, TRACTION CONTROL, SEATBELT, OIL, AIRBAG, EVERY LIGHT ON THE DASH) AT LEAST 3 TIMES IN A HALF HOUR PERIOD. WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER IT WAS DUE TO A FAULTY IGNITION. MY CAR WILL NOT PASS CALIFORNIA SMOG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON MULTIPLE TIMES IN MY TRIP ANYWHERE. I SAW THE NEWS THIS MORNING THAT CHRYSLER JEEP HAS ADMITTED TO A DEFECT WHERE THE JEEP CHEROKEES (2005) TURNS OFF UNEXPECTEDLY AND THERE ARE ISSUES WITH THE AIRBAG. MY JEEP HAS TURNED OFF/STALLED SOON AFTER I HAVE STARTED DRIVING IT ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS. IT SORT OF STALLS WITH NO POWER GOING TO THE ENGINE AND THEN A FEW SECONDS LATER KICKS IN AND MOVES. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS RIGHT AFTER I PULL OUT OF A PARKING SPACE OR PULL AWAY FROM THE CURB TO START DRIVING IN A LANE OF TRAFFIC. I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR IN AND DISCUSSED THE PROBLEM A COUPLE TIMES AND BEEN TOLD THERE IS NO PROBLEM. AS A SEPARATE OR RELATED ISSUE, DURING ONE OF MY FIRST SERVICES AT A JEEP DEALERSHIP WHEN I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP WARNING LIGHTS TURNED ON -- I WENT BACK TO HAVE THE ISSUE ADDRESSED AND WAS FINALLY TOLD ON THE FOURTH VISIT THAT THERE WAS A FAULTY SOFTWARE UPGRADE AND NOT TO WORRY UNLESS A LIGHT WENT ON AND STAYED ON (I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO PURSUE THE ISSUE AND I GOT NO WHERE WITH THE DEALERSHIP). MORE RECENTLY IT HAS BEEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT THAT GOES ON AND OFF (IF IS NOW OFF). FINALLY, I WENT TO THE CHRYSLER WEBSITE THIS MORNING AND ENTERED MY VIN AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL OR NOTICES. AS I TOOK IT TO THE GAS STATION ACROSS THE STREET, IT HAPPENED. THE DEALERSHIP EMPLOYEES WITNESSED IT AND WERE NICE ENOUGH TO RUN OVER AND PUSHED THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE SHOP. THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING BUT REPLACED THE BATTERY JUST IN CASE. SINCE THEN IT HAPPENS AT ONCE EVERY TWO MONTHS. CURRENTLY, I HAVE AN AIRBAG ISSUE. THE DEALER CANNOT SEEM TO REPAIR ANY OF THESE ISSUES. THE AIRBAG LIGHTS TURN ON INDICATED THE AIRBAGS ARE OFF BECAUSE IT DOES NOT SENSE ANYONE ON THE SEATS. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE AND I AM WAITING FOR A CALL BACK TO RETURN IT SO THEY CAN INSTALL AN ECM. THEY THINK IT MAY BE THE ISSUE. THIS WILL BE THE FOURTH VISIT FOR THE AIRBAGS. SEEMS THE VEHICLE HAS A LOT OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE VEHICLE SINCE DECEMBER 22ND. IT IS NOW FEB 25. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE INDICATOR REMAINED LIT UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE AIR BAG SENSOR AND ORDERED THE PART FOR THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 55,000. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE AT FAULT SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES, WHICH CAUSED THE CONTACT TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES AS WELL. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELTS FAILED TO RESTRAIN THE CONTACT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. HE STATED THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE COMPONENTS FAILED TO PROTECT HIM FROM BODILY HARM, WHICH COULD HAVE LED TO BEING SEVERELY INJURED. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE CHANGING THE GEAR FROM DRIVE TO REVERSE THERE WAS A CLICKING NOISE. THIS OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO APPLY PRESSURE TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THE ENGINE MADE A ROARING NOISE AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO PICK UP SPEED. THE DEALERSHIP REBUILT THE TRANSMISSION, HOWEVER NO OTHER REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN ALERTED. UPDATED 6/27/2006 - THE VEHICLE BATTERY WOULD NOT HOLD A CHARGE. THE HEADLINER HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS UNRAVELING.. THE SUNROOF MOTOR HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REBUILT ON 2-27-06 WITH ON 90000 MILES. THE MEMORY SEAT DID NOT MOVE BACK AT TIMES WHEN THE KEY WAS REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION. THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM WAS INOPERATIVE. THE POWER STEERING PUMP WAS BINDING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH. THE REAR WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE NOT FLUSH WITH THE WINDSHIELD. *NM

ORANGE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT ON AT ALL TIMES, EVEN WITH PASSENGER SEAT UNOCCUPIED SINCE DAY OF PURCHASE. CUSTOMER WAS TOLD AT DEALERSHIP THAT THIS WAS NORMAL IF SEAT WAS UNOCCUPIED. AFTER A FEW MONTHS, THE ORANGE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT AND THE RED AIR BAG LIGHT ARE ON CONTINUOUSLY, OR THE ILLUMINATIONS ALTERNATE EVERY FEW MINUTES. JEEP CHEROKEE TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP. CUSTOMER WAS TOLD IT WAS A CALIBRATION PROBLEM, AND THAT THE ORANGE LIGHT SHOULD ONLY BE ON IF BETWEEN 1 AND 25 POUNDS OR SO WHERE IN THE SEAT. NO PROBLEMS FOR ONE MONTH (LIGHTS WERE OFF, NO PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE). ORANGE AND RED LIGHTS NOW ALTERNATING AGAIN EVERY FEW MINUTES YESTERDAY AND TODAY (MARCH 1&2, 2006). *NM
