Transmission not changing gears. Transmission control module issue
I am experiencing so many problems with my jeep. It shift out of gear then start shutting down. Lights appear all across the dash board. At times, I have difficulty in shifting gear.The clutch slip and I get this burning smell. Then engine light comes on. It slow to move after shifting it into the forward gear. Sometimes it doesn't move when I shift it into the forward gear. Then when it does, it start bucking and kicking while driving. It slows down even when you press the gas pedal. Lastly, I have major problem with my a/c. It runs cool for a second and then completely shut off.

The door handle cups are disintegrating and handles are breaking off. I seen this is a safety issue many owners of jeeps like mine having same issues I haven't owned it a year, it's in pristine condition otherwise with only 91,000 original miles You can't get out from the inside in case of emergency bith front & one rear are currently broken & u can't even locate replacement door panels as discontinued there is a repair that is available but why should I pay for what obviously is manufacturer issue I will file a class action lawsuit along with others if not addressed & Jeep/Chrysler can give me way more than the car is even worth. I don't want my grandchildren & I to die because we can't get out in fire or flood. I bought the car used at 84,000 miles and would never have thought to check door handle cups until a pieces of one fell out Probably why he sold it to me with such low miles
While driving on the highway the entire car suddenly shut off, on three separate occasions. All the lights lit up on the dashboard then the car would not accelerate. I turned it off when I reached the shoulder, waited about a minute then turned the car on again. I am grateful my daughter and I are still alive. I've had it in the repair shop for a month. They replaced the brake system and dealt with grounding issues but, they cannot figure out why it keeps happening. This is a very serious issue and I see that others have complained about it. Yes, the car is old and has over 175,000 miles on it but I see that this is a common problem so it should be addressed.
There wasn’t an accident while driving my vehicle (thank god). My key stopped working for my ignition. I had an ignition recall on my vehicle (as to what the dealership told me). My vehicle has now been with the dealership since around Christmas maybe even a little bit before that. They did my ignition recall as to what was wrong with the vehicle. So they say.. it was towed in because it would not turn over.. they gave me a new key and put in a “new ignition” and still would not turn over. The dealership said my key would not flash over with the computer? Also, stating I needed a new skim module. Which they stated that Chrysler discontinued that part. I was not offered a rental.. which is fine I guess.. I’m a single mother of two kids. It has now been about four months about. I have never had in my life had the problems that I do now. My job is about to fire me, completely. The problems that I have had getting my children to and from school and doctor appointments, etc. I’m really at a loss for words. My vehicle had no problem starting before the ignition - key - issue. I really don’t know what else to do.
Recently we drove our 2006 grand Cherokee overland and and smelled a burning smell did not know where it was coming from upon further investigation we noticed a small hole behind the passenger side rear seat it there was a smoldering hole that had appeared not sure what this is from there is no electrical equipment in this area could it be from the malfunctioning of the Heat shield causing this problem
The vehicle when it driven for a while it does a slight kick and gets hesitant when you step on gas pedal. I notice when recently bought the lights on the dashboard all lit up. I took to Werner where I bought car but see attached. They sold during winter time , during cold weather it DOES NOT manifest hesitancy. Have to turn off so computer regulates or reboots and is good then. If day is hot it happens more frequent. Winter time have no problem. If stopped in stop sign or light and go have to be gentle on gas pedal to avoid again hesitancy or laziness and drivers behind me probably don’t understand why I take my time stepping on gas eventually drivers start passing me. Within a minute or 2 then it’s ok, I can step on it. Bought car during winter in cold weather no problem it’s great. Summer came and started noticing the laziness and hesitancy. On highway sometimes have issues doesn’t go beyond 40
Maybe hose radiator to the ac vent under the passenger cabin. My son got a 2nd degree burn on the top of his foot.the problem is not fixed.it was inspected by the local police and fire chief.there was no warning at all..

I HAD RECALL P41 UPDATED TO MY 2006 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. AFTER THE RECALL UPDATE I WAS INSTRUCTED BY THE DEALERSHIP, I WOULD NEED TO PUSH AND TURN THE KEY TO START/STOP THE IGNITION. THIS UPGRADED FUNCTION HAS ALWAYS BEEN HARD TO GET THE KEY TO TURN. LAST WEEK, WHILE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT WORK 02JUL19, IT TOOK ME OVER 20 MIN. TO GET THE KEY TO TURN BY PUSHING AND TURNING, TO START THE ENGINE. THE SAFETY RECALL P41 IS INEFFECTIVE OR INSTALLED INCORRECTLY. MY VEHICLE KEY TURNED FINE BEFORE THE RECALL AND HAS NOT WORKED WELL SINCE.

ALL 4 INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES HAVE CRACKED AND BROKEN THE INTERIOR COMPONENT (INVOLVING THE HANDLE MECHANISM). THE RR HANDLE IS UNUSABLE AND WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY. THE ADDITION INTERIOR HANDLES ARE CRACKED BUT REMAIN USABLE AT THIS TIME BUT WILL SOON FAIL. THE DESIGN OF THIS MODEL AS WELL AS SIMILAR JEEP MODELS IS A COMMON FAILURE. THIS CAN BE CONSIDERED A POTENTIAL SAFETY FAILURE IF THE HANDLE COMPLETELY FAILS AND PASSENGERS UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR RESULTING IN INJURY OR EVEN DEATH DURING AN ACCIDENT.

I DID MY OWN RESEARCH AND DISCOVERED THAT MY VEHICLE FITS THE DESCRIPTION (YEAR/MAKE/MODEL) OF A RECALL THAT WAS DONE ON JEEPS 2006-2007 FOR FAULTY IGNITION SWITCHES.

I WAS NOTIFIED NOV 2014 THAT MY IGNITION SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE. I RECEIVED 3 SUBSEQUENT NOTICES BUT COULD NOT GET THE DEALERSHIP TO RESPOND TO MY REQUESTS FOR SERVICE. FINALLY IN FEB 2016 THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THEY HAD THE PARTS AND WOULD DO THE WORK. ORIGINALLY WE HAD 3 WORKING IGNITION KEYS. AFTER THE RECALL WORK WAS COMPLETE WE ONLY HAD 1 USABLE KEY. WHEN WE WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE OTHER 2 KEYS THEY CHARGED $109.95 TO PROGRAM A "MANUAL KEY" . I WAS STUCK WITH THE BILL AND A SECOND ELECTRONIC KEY THAT STILL DOESN'T WORK. THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER ELECTRONIC KEY (ONE WITH PANIC BUTTON, DOOR OPEN/ LOCK AND TRUNK LOCK). THIS REPLACEMENT WOULD RUN BETWEEN $200 - $400.

I JUST PURCHASED THIS JEEP LAST WEEK.

MY CAR IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY SO NOW THIS IS AN OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE SINCE CHRYSLER DECIDED TO USE CHEAP AND UNRELIABLE PARTS. THE DOOR HANDLE PIECE IS REPLACEABLE FROM AN AUTO PARTS STORE. THEY ARE $140.00 EACH PLUS LABOR FOR SOMEONE TO DO THE WORK. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL!! IN DOING RESEARCH THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE THIS IS HAPPENING TO!!!

I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FEB. 2016 TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE RECALL FIXED AND I FIND THAT THE RECALL WORK HAS NOT BEEN SHOWN AS COMPLETE ON THE SAFECAR.GOV WEBSITE ONCE I ENTERED THE VIN NUMBER AFTER BEING TOLD THE WORK WAS COMPLETED BY THE DEALER. IT STATES ON THE SAVECAR.GOV WEBSITE THAT PARTS TO FIX THE P-41 RECALL ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND SEEMS TO HAVE NOT BEEN AVAILABLE FOR QUITE SOME TIME. I AM WONDERING HOW DO I KNOW THAT THE DEALER REALLY DEALT WITH THE PROBLEM? THEY DID SOMETHING BECAUSE MY IGNITION IS NOT WORKING THE SAME AS IT WAS PRIOR TO MY TAKING IT INTO THE DEALER. I BELIEVE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN IN THE SENSE THAT IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH OR EVACUATION THE PASSENGERS HAVE NO WAY TO EVACUATE THE VEHICLE UNLESS OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. I WAS PREGNANT AT THE TIME SO I CALLED CHRYSLER'S GROUP RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER AT 1-800-853-1403, AND WAS ADVISED THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I TOLD THEM I WAS CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF MY UNBORN CHILD, ESPECIALLY SINCE THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES TO MY VEHICLE ALREADY. THREE OF THE FOUR (THE 4TH IS SHATTERED) DOOR HANDLES IN MY JEEP ARE CRACKED, READY TO BREAK ANYTIME. THE PASSENGER SIDE ONE IS COMPLETELY CRACKED AND BROKEN HANGING ON BY A THREAD. I'M AFRAID SOON I'M GOING TO HAVE TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW JUST TO GET OUT OF THE JEEP. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD, I CAN ONLY HOPE I'M NOT INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND THAT I WON'T BE ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR DUE TO THIS MALFUNCTION. I HAVE NOTICED DURING MY SEARCHES THAT THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS WITH THIS ISSUE, HOW CAN IT BE THAT THERE IS NO RECALL YET? PLEASE HEAR THIS OUTCRY, I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY $500-$700 PER DOOR TO GET IT FIXED. I HAVE A 2006 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WITH 4 BAD DOOR HANDLES. INTERIOR DOORS THE PLASTIC FRAME AROUND THE HANDLES IS BROKEN ON ALL 4 DOORS, DOOR HANDLES BECOME FLIMSY WITH NO SUPPORT CAUSING A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE WHEN TRYING TO OPEN A DOOR. IN AN ACCIDENT, FIRE, ANYTIME THE DOOR NEEDS OPENED, THERE IS A POSSIBILITY FOR FAILURE WHEN THE HANDLE BREAKS. IT HAD ALREADY FAILED TO OPEN ONCE. I AM AFRAID TO HAVE MY GRANDCHILDREN RIDE IN MY CAR BECAUSE IF THEY NEEDED TO GET OUT IN A HURRY, THEY COULD BE STUCK OR WORST KILLED. DEALER SAYS NO RECALL AND $800.00 A PANEL TO REPLACE. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE DEALERSHIP MISREPRESENTED AND UNREPORTED INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROBLEM OF ETCHING AND PEELING PAINT AND REPAINTING OF THE VEHICLE. *NJ THE CONSUMER ALSO DISCOVERED EXTENSIVE RUST UNDER THE FRONT SEATS AND ON THE HINGES, HE BELIEVED THERE WAS POSSIBLE MOISTURE PROBLEM. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN MAKING GRINDING NOISES. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A SUDDEN STOP, BUT THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING. THE CONTACT DROVE TO A LOCAL DEALER. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY IN THE REPAIR SHOP AND THE CONTACT IS WAITING TO FIND OUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 16,000. WHILE DRIVING A RENTED 2006 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING. I WAS ABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER AND RESTART THE ENGINE. I DROVE CAUTIOUSLY WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENTS. ON THE RETURN TRIP ON A STATE HIGHWAY, THE ENGINE UNEXPECTEDLY STOPPED. AGAIN, I SAFELY STEERED THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE. THIS TIME, I REALIZED THAT MOVING MY RIGHT LEG WHILE DRIVING, MY RIGHT KNEE HAD HIT THE KEY AND MOVED IT TO THE "OFF" POSITION. BOTH INCIDENTS DID NOT RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT SINCE THE ROADWAY WAS EMPTY OF OTHER VEHICLES. *JB
