Dear Sirs: Two months ago I went to the local Jeep Dealer (Taraborelli, in Bariloche, Argentina) asking for 4 incomplete recalls. Two were completed but, in particular the number 57, the local dealer informed me that they asked MOPAR for spare parts (CDBOH113 -680050499AA- and CBTTP578AA and CBTTP57LAA) without any response from MOPAR. To my surprise the recalls appear now as "completed"! The dealer received my complaint and asked me to report the problem. They are waiting for the spare parts to complete recall repairing. What I'm expected to do about this problem?. Original recals were N11, N23, P57 and P73, those related with software were resolved but for P57 they required spare parts to MOPAR it is very important affecting the driving. I do appreciate your response asap. the jeep goes into limp mode and gets stuck in 2 gear I have replaced the shifter solenoid and still happens I have read about this happing to the same jeep from 2005-2010 model and this is a safety issue that need to be recalled immediately. I was driving on the highway and the jeep shifted into 2nd gear mind I was going the speed limit of 65 and it went down to 30 MPH and it almost caused a pike up on the interstate.

I have not owner this vehicle for very long but while driving the engine will tune off! The engine isnt stalling it straight tunes off at low speeds or high speeds. It will tune off while accelerating almost like its miss firing. Most time the vehicle will recover on it own but ultimately will tune off. This is important becuase it dose this while on the highway, in traffic and it unsafe not to mention scary.

JEEP WILL COMPLETELY TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING AT RANDOM TIMES AND AT RANDOM SPEEDS. THIS INCLUDES HIGHWAY AND LOCAL ROADS. MORE THAN ONCE, WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR TURNED OFF AND I HAD TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER, TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH TO OFF AND RESTART THE CAR. CAR WILL ALSO INTERMITTENTLY NOT ACCELERATE ABOVE 40 MPH. THE CAR HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MORE THAN ONE REPAIR SHOP AND NO ONE CAN FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT THAT WOULD CAUSE THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION.

THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE BATTERY, STARTER, AND ENGINE OIL WERE REPLACED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHCILE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MIELAGE WAS 113,000.

I CALLED JEEP DEALERSHIP IN RAPID CITY, SD THEY SAID THEY "WONT COME GET IT OR GIVE ME A LOANER CAR BUT THE BRING IT BY ANYTIME THIS WEAK BECAUSE THEY USUALLY ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING."SO NOW IM AND HOUR AWAY WITH NO WAY TO WORK AND NO WAY TO GET JEEP TO RAPID BECAUSE OF FIRST TOW BILL.. THEY SAID THEY WERE UNABLE TO. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES. EACH TIME, SO FAR, I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO COAST TO A STOP OUT OF TRAFFIC, BUT I FEAR THAT IT MAY HAPPEN IN A LESS FORTUNATE SETTING. OFTEN TIMES AFTER SITTING OFF FOR PERIOD OF TIME THE LIGHTS MAY BE OFF BUT CAR MAY SHUT DOWN AGAIN AFTER DRIVING A SHORT , SOMETIMES LONG, DISTANCE. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE MERCEDES-BENZ 3.0 CRD ENGINE IN THIS MODEL JEEP. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM.

THEY ONLY SUGGESTED THAT I GO TO JEEP DEALER (REALLY EXPENSIVE) AND IF THERE ARE ANY REPAIRS, KEEP A RECEIPT IN CASE THERE IS A RECALL ON THE PROBLEM - A PROBLEM WHICH HAS OCCURRED WITH SEVERAL OF THEIR OTHER CAR MODELS.

IT SEAMS TO HAPPEN UNDER A LOAD OR WHILE ACCELERATING OR PULLING A HILL. IT HAS HAPPENED IN HIGH TRAFFIC CIRCUMSTANCES AND HAS AT TIMES BEEN DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I'VE TAKEN IT TO JEEP TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. THEY APPARENTLY HAVE A STAR CASE NUMBER S1218000003 IN WHICH THEY SAY TO CHANGE THE SPARK PLUGS. THIS SEEMS LIKE A DANGEROUS SITUATION TO PUT CONSUMERS IN.

I WAS DRIVING 15 TO 20 MINUTES FROM HOME AND MY CHECK ENGINE CAME ON. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL GAS STATION (25 YRS RELATIONSHIP) AND THE CAR STALLED WHILE CLOSE TO THE STATION LOSING ALL STEERING POWER. THE OWNER TOOK A LOOK AND SAID GIVE ME 24HRS TO DIAGNOSE. THE NEXT DAY HE SHOWED ME WHAT HAPPENED....THE WATER-PUMP INTERNAL BEARING HAS BROKEN CAUSING THE SHAFT TO MOVE BACK AND FORTH CAUSING THE INTERNAL WATER-PUMP FLYWHEEL TO BREAK APART. THIS CAUSED THE WATER PUMP TO DUMP ALL THE COOLANT ON THE GROUND WITHIN 15 TO 20 MINUTES. FINAL DIAGNOSIS WAS THE ENGINE SEIZED DUE TO LACK OF COOLANT PUMPING THRU THE ENGINE. A NEW ENGINE WAS THE ONLY SOLUTION. I CAN UNDERSTAND THE WATER-PUMP HAVING MINOR LEAKS WITH GRADUAL LEAKAGE ...THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN CAUGHT BY THE PUDDLES UNDER THE ENGINE BUT NOT THE RAPID DRAINAGE I EXPERIENCED. I REACH OUT TO JEEP HOTLINE.... TOLD THE STORY AND WAS WILLING TO PROVIDE PHOTOS AND PHYSICAL PARTS FOR THEIR QA AND RD DEPARTMENT TO EVALUATE FOR DESIGN FLAW. THEY WERE NOT INTERESTED AND TOLD ME SORRY OUT OF WARRANTY...AND GAVE ME NO SUPPORT OR DIRECTIONS TO SEND PHOTOS OR PHYSICAL PARTS. OVER THE PAST YEAR THE VEHICLE HAS HAD MULTIPLE NO START/NO CRANK ISSUES. AFTER FEW HOURS OR DAYS, IT WILL TURN OVER. VEHICLES IS ALWAYS PARKED/NOT MOVING WHEN THIS OCCURS. THE DEALER WANTS ME TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE TOW FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. IF THE TEST DOES NOT SHOW ANYTHING, I PAY ANOTHER $120 FOR THE DIAG AND HAVE TO PAY FOR TOW ELSEWHERE. JEEP CUSTOMER SERVICE IS USELESS. I PAY MONTHLY PAYMENT AND INSURANCE FOR A DRIVEWAY ORNAMENT.

THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE CLIP THAT CONNECTED THE SOLENOID TO THE STARTER BECAME DETACHED. THE CONTACT HAD TO PUSH THE CLIP BACK ONTO THE SOLENOID IN ORDER TO START THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BURNS TO HIS HAND THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STARTER WIRING HARNESS AND CLIP HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.

I WAS TRAVELING ON MONTROSE PARKWAY IN ROCKVILLE, MD. I WAS TRAVELING AT ABOUT 45MPH. I APPROACHED A SLIGHT BEND TO THE LEFT THAT HAD A SLIGHT DECLINE. I LOST CONTROL ON DEBRIS THAT WAS LEFT OVER FROM AN ACCIDENT EARLIER THAT MORNING. I STRUCK AND WENT OVER THE CURB WITH THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY VEHICLE. I WENT HEAD ON INTO A STEEL LIGHT POST INCASED IN A CONCERT FOOTER. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED VERY EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY DURING THE COLLISION. THIS IS A VERY MAJOR CONCERN TO ME BECAUSE THIS COULD HAVE TURNED OUT WAY WORSE, BUT I WAS VERY, VERY LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO ONLY SUSTAIN BRUISING. THIS VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS.

IT HAS HAPPENED AT LOW SPEEDS AND AT SPEEDS UP TO 30 MPH. SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE WON'T LET YOU SHIFT TO PARK TO RESTART IT. THERE ARE NO INDICATOR LIGHTS WHEN IT HAPPENS. VERY SCARY AS ITS HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY. IT HAS HAPPENED IN DRY AND WET CONDITIONS, ON RESIDENTIAL AND CITY STREETS. ALL INDICATIONS ARE THAT ITHE CAUSE IS THE SAME AS OTHER FIAT CHRYSLER RECALLS FIR THE 2008 GRAND CHEROKEE THOUGH OURS IS NOT ON A RECALL LIST.

FOR SEVERAL MONTHS MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN SHUTTING OFF WHILE I AM DRIVING DUE TO THE KEY FOB POPPING OUT OF PLACE. I WENT TO THE DEALER IN JANUARY 2015 AND WAS TOLD THE PART IS NOT READY AND TO CALL FOR AN UPDATE. I HAVE CALLED AND BEEN BACK SEVERAL TIMES ONLY TO BE PLACED ON A WAITING LIST. I HAVE BEEN CONTACTING THEM AND GETTING THE SAME RESPONSE THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. ON 9/16/2015 WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE I NOTICED THE NAVIGATION/RADIO CONSOLE START TO PIXILATE AND BECOME INOPERABLE THEN THE CONSOLE BLACKED OUT, AFTER THAT THE ENTIRE DASH BOARD LIT UP AND I RECEIVED SEVERAL SYSTEM WARNINGS (SERVICE GAUGES, PARK ASSIST DISABLED, CHECK SENSORS, SERVICE SUSPENSION, MY ENGINE LIGHT AND WIPERS CAME ON, I WAS UNABLE TO SIGNAL, USE MY LIGHTS OR TURN OFF THE WIPERS) ALL OF THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I MADE A RIGHT TURN INTO THE PARKING LOT OUT OF FEAR AT THIS TIME I HEARD THE KEY FOB POP BACK AND THE CAR COMPLETELY POWERED DOWN AND I WAS UNABLE TO BREAK BECAUSE THE BRAKES LOCKED UP. THE PARKING LOT WAS SEMI-EMPTY SO I WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER UNTIL IS ROLLED TO A STOP. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE. I NEED A RESOLUTION NOW, I STILL HAVE TWO YEARS WORTH OF PAYMENTS LEFT AND I WANT THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED.

WENT TO GET IN MY CAR TO GO TO WORK AND IT WOULDN'T START. I ASSUMED IT WAS JUST A BATTERY. SO I CALLED AAA TO JUMP ME. HE ADVISED THAT YOUR KEY SHOULD NOT WIGGLE WHEN IN THE IGNITION. HE WAS 90% SURE THAT WAS THE CAUSE FOR MY BATTERY ISSUE. HE JUMPED ME SO I COULD GET TO THE GARAGE TO HAVE IT TESTED TO SEE IF IT WAS A BATTERY OR ANOTHER ISSUE BECAUSE HE DIDN'T WANT TO REPLACE BATTERY IF THAT IS THE ISSUE BECAUSE IT WOULD DRAIN IT AGAIN. I WENT .8 OF A MILE AND WAS STOPPED IN TRAFFIC AND ALL THE LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING ON THE DASH AND IT WENT DEAD. CALLED AGAIN TO GET JUMPED. I WENT 5 FEET AND IT STALED OUT AGAIN. HE HAD ME TOWED TO DEALERSHIP BECAUSE HE THINKS IT IS PART OF THE RECALL. WENT TO DEALERSHIP, THEY COULDN'T GIVE ME A LOANER AND TOLD ME IF PART OF RECALL IT WOULD TAKE 3-4 WEEKS TO GET THE PART. I DON'T HAVE ANOTHER CAR. NEXT DAY CALLED ON IT AND EVENTUALLY WAS ADVISED THAT IT WAS THE IGNITION RECALL BUT I HAD TO PAY FOR THE BATTERY. I DON'T FEEL I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THAT BECAUSE IT WAS DRAINED BECAUSE OF THE PRODUCT RECALL. NEXT DAY- DROVE 15 MILES AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IT BACK AND THE DEALERSHIP DOESN'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG. I DIDN'T GET THE NOTICE OF RECALL UNTIL 08/24/15 AT 3:00 IN THE MAIL. IT WAS RELEASED IN 2014, WHY AM I JUST GETTING IT NOW. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IN IT BECAUSE OF THIS RECALL. IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT JUST STOPPED, I WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. CHRYSLER HAS A RECALL FOR MY 2008 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE FOR THE IGNITION SWITCH P57/NHTSA 14V-567. THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE AND THEY DO NOT HAVE AN ESTIMATED OR ACTUAL DATE THIS PART WILL BE IN. CHRYSLER REFUSES TO ACCOMMODATE THE CUSTOMERS WITH A LOANER VEHICLE. WHY IS CHRYSLER NOT ACCOUNTABLE FOR MY CAR TROUBLES AFTER THE RECALL (WHICH I NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE)? THE GOVERNMENT FINED CHRYSLER 70 MILLION DOLLARS AND WILL FINE ADDITIONAL MONIES IF THE VEHICLES ARE NOT REPAIRED. WHY AM I SUFFERING AND NOT BEING ACCOMMODATED WITH A WORKING VEHICLE WHEN THE BILLION DOLLAR INDUSTRY (CHRYSLER) HAS A MISHAP? MY EXPERIENCE: - WHEN VEHICLE IGNITION IS TURNED OFF IT ONLY GOES THE WAY, THE KEY FOB STICKS AND WILL NOT EXIT. THIS CAUSES THE RADIO CLOCK LIGHT AND THE GEAR SHIFT PANEL TO STAY LIT, WHICH IN TURN DRAINS THE BATTERY. ONCE IT TOOK 11 HOURS BEFORE KEY WOULD EXIT, AFTER RUNNING THE ENGINE FOR OVER 3 HOURS. I AM IN JEOPARDY OF LOSING MY LIVELIHOOD IF THIS ISSUE CONTINUES FOR MUCH LONGER. I WAS SENT AN IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FROM CHRYSLER (NOTIFICATION CODE P57) APPROXIMATELY 3 MONTHS AGO AND HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING SINCE THEN AND THIS ISSUE HAS PROGRESSIVELY GOT WORSE OVER THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS. VEHICLE HAS HAD A HISTORY OF UNRESOLVED ELECTRICAL ISSUES BEGINNING AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. IN 2009, THE IGNITION SWITCH BEGAN TO FAIL AND THE KEY FOB WAS REPLACED. DUE TO A VIN NUMBER ISSUE WITH A REPLACEMENT PROGRAM, CHRYSLER REFUSED TO REPLACE THE KEY ASSEMBLIES THOUGH THEY WERE REPLACING IDENTICAL ASSEMBLIES ON OTHER VEHICLES THAT USED THE SAME MODULES. SEVERAL "REPROGRAMMING" HAVE BEEN CONDUCTED TO CLEAR PROBLEMS. SPECIFIC ISSUES INCLUDE: 1. ERRATIC BEHAVIOR OF ELECTRICAL SYSTEM THAT STEMS FROM THE OPERATION OF THE IGNITION SWITCH. FOR EXAMPLE THE ENGINE WILL START BUT THE VEHICLE WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK AND THE RADIO/NAVIGATION WILL NOT WORK UNTIL YOU JIGGLE THE IGNITION SWITCH AND KEY FOB. 2. CHRONIC FAILURE OF THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE. YOU CAN BE DRIVING ALONG AT ANY SPEED AND YOU WILL LOSE THROTTLE CONTROL. THIS HAS CAUSED SEVERAL NEAR MISS ACCIDENTS. THE PROBLEM IS ACKNOWLEDGED BY A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND LIGHTING OF AN SPECIFIC IDIOT LIGHT ON THE DASH. OWNER OF 2008 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ON A REGULAR BASIS HEAR A CLICK AND THE POWER SHUTS OFF. YOU FIND YOURSELF WITH NO POWER STEERING, NO POWER BRAKES, AND NO LIGHTS. THIS ALSO OCCURS SOMETIMES WHEN YOU GO OVER A BUMP OR IF YOUR KNEE TOUCHES THE KEY RING. NO 4X4 LOW EVER SINCE I HAD THE N23 RECALL WORK PERFORMED TO REPROGRAM THE FINAL DRIVE CONTROLLER. CALLED CHRYSLER ABOUT IT AND THE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR ME AT A DEALER. DEALER SAID THE TRANSFER CASE ACTUATOR MOTOR IS FRIED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THEY ALSO SAID THAT THE PART IS BACK ORDERED 6-8 WEEKS BECAUSE SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AFTER HAVING THE N23 RECALL WORK PERFORMED. I HAVE PREVIOUSLY ENTERED A SIMILAR COMPLAINT FOR THIS SAME VEHICLE. THE ISSUE IS THAT THE VEHICLE STALLS/SHUTS OFF FOR NO REASON WHILE DRIVING. CHRYSLER IS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A RELIABLE FIX. THIS BEGAN IN MAY 2012 - MY VEHICLE SIMPLY SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING IN ANY NUMBER OF CONDITIONS WHETHER IT BE ON THE HIGHWAY, SIDE ROADS, ETC. I REMOVED ALL EXCESS KEYS FROM MY KEY RING TO ENSURE THAT IT WAS NOT THE KEY BEING TOO HEAVY. BROUGHT THIS IN TO MY DEALERSHIP, THEY REPLACED THE WIN CONTROL MODULE BUT COULDN'T GUARANTEE THAT THIS WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. VEHICLE STALLED ONCE WHILE DRIVING UNEXPECTEDLY ABOUT 9 MONTHS LATER. THEN VEHICLE STOPPED TWICE IN OCTOBER 2013. AT THAT TIME I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. THEY AT FIRST WANTED TO REPLACE THE WIN MODULE. WHEN I TOLD THEM THAT WAS THE FIX FROM BEFORE AND IT DIDN'T WORK, THEY ADVISED THAT THE FRONT CONTROL MODULE BE REPLACED, AS THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS BUT MY VEHICLE WAS ONE DAY PAST THE DATE OF MANUFACTURING IMPACT IN THE RECALL, BUT WAS HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE. REPLACED FRONT CONTROL MODULE IN OCTOBER 2013. VEHICLE STOPPED UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING AGAIN TWICE IN MARCH 2014 - ON MARCH 20TH AND MARCH 21ST. VEHICLE IS BACK AT THE DEALER WHERE THEY AGAIN WANT TO REPLACE THE WIN MODULE. AGAIN, THIS FIX WAS PROVIDED PREVIOUSLY AND DID NOT FIX THE CAR. EITHER THE WINS BEING PRODUCED BY CHYRSLER ARE ALL FAULTY AND I SOMEHOW HAVE GOTTEN 2 IN A ROW OR THERE IS AN UNDERLYING ISSUE THAT CANNOT BE FOUND OR ADDRESSED. VEHICLE ENGINE SUDDENLY STOPPED ON HWY AT 70 MPH (THIS IS THE 3RD TIME IT HAS HAPPENED IN THE LAST 9 MONTHS). I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE OFF THE HWY. IT STARTED UP AFTER COMING TO A STOP. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM (HAD WORKED ON PREVIOUS GRAND CHEROKEES AND EVEN HAD THE CHRYSLER ENGINEERS OUT TO TRY AND HELP THEM). THEY DID INSPECTIONS ON MY VEHICLE FOR 5 DAYS AND SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM OR FIND ANYTHING OUT FROM THE VEHICLE COMPUTER. THEY TOLD ME TO CONTACT CHRYSLER. I WAS EVENTUALLY GIVEN TO A CASE MANAGER. THEY INITIALLY SAID THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING AND NOW THEY KEEP DELAYING GETTING BACK TO ME. THIS HAS BEEN 2 WEEKS WITH NO SOLUTION IN SIGHT. JEEP COULD NOT DETERMINE WHY AND AT THAT POINT I PURCHASED A NEW CAR. I AM REPORTING THIS NOW AFTER HEARING ABOUT THE RECALL FOR OTHER VEHICLES WHICH TURNED OFF FOR NO REASON AND HAD CAUSED INJURY OR DEATH. AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE IT WAS OBSERVED THAT SOME OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, INCLUDING RADIO AND TURN SIGNALS WERE NOT FUNCTIONING. ELECTRICAL EVENTUALLY CAME BACK. THIS OCCURRED SEVERAL OTHER TIMES, GENERALLY AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN RE-STARTING ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS CAME BACK ON. APPROXIMATELY 1-2 WEEKS AFTER THE INITIAL ELECTRICAL ISSUE THE FOLLOWING OCCURRED: WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT AT APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES PER HOUR THE ENGINE SUDDENLY CUT OUT AFTER A "CLUNK" TYPE OF SOUND. AFTER TRYING SEVERAL TIMES TO RESTART, THE VEHICLE DID START AGAIN AND DROVE NORMALLY. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP WHERE CODE P0688 ASD WAS FOUND. THE DEALERSHIP RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE ASD RELAY SWITCH. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THIS RELAY SWITCH COULD BE THE CAUSE OF THE VEHICLE DYING WHILE DRIVING AS WELL. RELAY WAS NOT REPLACED AS THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THE PART OF ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER. THE ELECTRICAL CUT OUT OCCURRED AGAIN ON 6/21/2013 BUT CLEARED UP IMMEDIATELY UPON A VEHICLE RESTART. ON 6/23/2013 WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH THE ENGINE CUT OUT AGAIN. THE ELECTRICAL WAS ALSO OUT, LEAVING ME WITH A DEAD VEHICLE AND NO ELECTRONICS TO SIGNAL. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. I BELIEVE THAT POSSIBLY THE ELECTRONIC FUEL PUMP WAS CUT OUT DUE TO THE ELECTRICAL ISSUE. DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THIS PART IS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER, WHICH LEADS ME TO QUESTION WHETHER THERE IS A LARGER, UNREPORTED ISSUE WITH THIS PART. IF THERE IS NOT A DEMAND FOR IT, WHY IS IT ON BACK ORDER, AND IF THERE IS A DEMAND, PERHAPS THERE IS AN ONGOING ISSUE THAT CHRYSLER/JEEP IS NOT REPORTING. WHILE DRIVING ENGINE SHUTS OFF WITH NO INDICATION OF WHY. NO STORED COMPUTER CODE. ENGINE LOSES ALL POWER AND DIES. MUST STOP VEHICLE THEN SHUT IGNITION AND RESTART. TRUCK WOULD START THEN DIE .. THAT HAPPENED TEN TIMES.. AND FINALLY STARTED. GAS TANK WAS THREE QUARTERS FILLED AND WEATHER WAS GOOD. BATTERY IS IN GOOD WORKING ORDER WITH PROPER VOLTAGE AND CHARGING SYSTEM IS IN WORKING ORDER. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AS A NEW UNIT. THE MOVING VEHICLE INADVERTENTLY STALLS. THE STALL HAS MOSTLY OCCURRED ON THE HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS OF 70-75 MPH, AS WELL AS ON-RAMPS AND OFF-RAMPS. THE FREQUENCY OF OCCURRENCE IS APPROXIMATELY (3-4) TIMES PER MONTH. WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLS I HAVE TO QUICKLY PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND RESTART THE ENGINE. FORTUNATELY THE ENGINE RESTARTS IMMEDIATELY AND I AM ABLE TO RESUME DRIVING. THE PROBLEM WAS REPORTED TO A LOCAL (RI) DEALERSHIP, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM/DEFECT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE DIESEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, HE NOTICED THAT THE OIL INTAKE TUBE WAS LEAKING OIL INTO THE INTAKE AIR MANIFOLD AND GOING INTO THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND THE AIR INTAKE HOSE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO LODGED A COMPLAINT FOR THE CONTACT AND OFFERED TO PAY FOR ONE THIRD OF THE REPAIR COSTS. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,726.

I STARTED THE JEEP AND TRAVELED NORMALLY FOR ABOUT A THIRD OF A MILE ON LOCAL STREETS. THE PROBLEM STARTED WHEN I TURNED ONTO A COLLECTOR STREET FROM A LOCAL STREET APPLYING FULL THROTTLE. WHEN I LIFTED MY FOOT OFF THE THROTTLE PEDAL THE JEEP KEPT ACCELERATING. THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL WARNING LIGHT WENT ON. I STOPPED THE CAR BY APPLYING THE BRAKE AND PUTTING THE TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL. THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV AT ABOUT 4000 RPM WITH THE JEEP STOPPED. I TURNED OFF THE JEEP AND CHECKED THE POSITION OF THE CARPET PROTECTOR TO MAKE SURE IT WAS NOT INTERFERING WITH THE ACCELERATOR. IT WAS NOT IN A POSITION WHERE IT COULD OVERLAP THE THROTTLE. I ALSO CHECKED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND FOUND IT OPERATING NORMALLY IN TERMS OF POSITION AND ACTION. I TURNED THE ENGINE BACK ON AND THE JEEP REACTED NORMALLY FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE TRIP. DEALER NOT ABLE TO REPLICATED BUT REPORTED ERROR MESSAGE THAT BOTH BRAKES AND ACCELERATOR WERE BOTH DEPRESSED. ALSO REPORTED THAT CARPET WAS NOT INVOLVED. *TR *JS
