For the second winter (2 out of 2) this vehicle has entered FORM mode - Fuel Oil Refresh - and fails to operate as a hybrid car until- if last year was the indicator - Spring and warmer weather. Ostensibly due to running in electric mode for too long, FORM is an engine and fuel safety measure. Since this vehicle was under recall 68C until earlier this week and had not been operable in electric mode at all since September, this excuse fails demonstrably. It has been in FORM since the recall was completed. Having a Jeep in winter that is not operable in electric mode in snow and ice when the potential exists that gas mode doesn't function and the 24 "reserve" miles are not available in electric mode, poses a significant risk. Secondarily, in last winter and this, hybrid use is unavailable for months.

Local Dealers are unable to resolve the recall on timely basis due lack of parts, lack of loaner or rental cars. Weather, sense of urgency. This is a serious safety recal of potential battery fire and suddenly stop while in motion. Need to do something!

On approximately November 15th 2025, I took my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xE In for a routine oil change and tire rotation to Fred Martin Super Store in Barberton , Ohio. Upon completion on the service I was told that there was a recall on my vehicle and I was not to park in my garage or plug the vehicle in due to risk of fire coming from the Hybrid Battery. I immediately called the service department at Fred Martin Super Store in Barberton Ohio to see if this recall was accurate. The Service Department Rep did confirm verbally that there was a recall and again NOT TO PARK IN MY GARAGE OR PLUG THE VECHILE IN DUE TO FIRE RISK. I was told the parts were not available to fix the problem at this time. This vehicle is not safe to have on or near my property and is not functioning the way it is intended. I have contacted Jeep multiple times and filed multiple grievances to ask for a vehicle buy out or a lease termination with out penalty and have been denied. This repair has not been done or remedied in a timely manner, and is still unsafe to have or drive.

My 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (VIN [XXX] ) is affected by two separate federal safety recalls involving the high-voltage battery: Recall 95B / NHTSA 24V-720 and the newly issued Recall 68C / NHTSA 25V-741. Both recalls warn of a potential vehicle fire and instruct owners to stop recharging the battery and to park the vehicle away from structures and other vehicles due to fire risk. These warnings appear directly in the recall notices I received. Recall 95B / NHTSA 24V-720 states that the battery pack may contain cells susceptible to separator damage which, combined with internal cell interactions, may lead to a vehicle fire. Owners are advised not to recharge and to park away from structures. Recall 68C / NHTSA 25V-741 states that under normal vehicle operation, the high-voltage battery may become damaged and lead to a vehicle fire, again instructing owners not to recharge and to park away from structures. These are virtually identical safety defects occurring back-to-back in the same high-voltage battery system. The 68C recall states explicitly that no remedy is currently available and there is no ETA, leaving me with a vehicle that cannot safely be parked at my home, charged, or operated as intended. I am now unable to use the hybrid/electric functionality at all, despite paying a premium for a plug-in hybrid vehicle. I am forced to operate the vehicle only in degraded gasoline mode with significantly reduced functionality and safety. The ongoing fire risk, inability to recharge, and requirement to park away from cars and buildings create a daily hardship and significant safety concern for my family. This is a serious safety defect affecting the same critical system twice in less than a year, and with no available remedy the vehicle remains unsafe to charge, unsafe to park near structures, and unable to function as advertised. I am requesting NHTSA review due to repeated fire-risk recalls, lack of a repair, and the substantial ongoing safety risk. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATIO

While my wife was driving our 2023 plug-in hybrid SUV, the vehicle suddenly lost all power steering assist. The steering wheel became extremely hard to turn and she could not safely control the vehicle. I had to verbally guide her to pull over into a very unsafe area because the vehicle became nearly impossible to steer. The failure happened instantly with no warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms. The vehicle was completely undriveable. I had to call a tow truck and pay out of pocket to have it towed directly to an authorized dealer. We were forced to take an Uber home. The dealer confirmed that this model currently has multiple active safety recalls, including recalls involving high-voltage battery fire risk and potential loss of propulsion, and that they could not inspect the vehicle immediately due to limited staffing. This incident posed a significant crash and injury risk because the driver was unable to steer the vehicle with normal force. The sudden loss of steering assist created a dangerous situation on a public road and required emergency towing. The vehicle is now at the dealership awaiting inspection, and the failure can be inspected upon request.

I am reporting ongoing safety concerns with my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (VIN: [XXX] ) related to repeated high-voltage battery defects and loss-of-power risks. The vehicle has already been subject to NHTSA Recall 25V576 (FCA 73C), which I completed, but the underlying electrical/battery issues continue to raise serious safety concerns. As of November 2025, my vehicle is now listed under NHTSA Recall 25V776 (FCA 68C), which involves a defect inside the high-voltage battery cells that can lead to a vehicle fire even when parked and turned off. Stellantis has instructed owners not to charge the vehicle and to park it outdoors, indicating a significant and ongoing safety risk. No remedy is currently available. Additionally, a separate recall—NHTSA 25V766 (FCA 78C)—was recently announced for 2023–2025 Grand Cherokee 4xe vehicles regarding potential engine contamination that can cause engine failure or fire. While my VIN is not yet listed under 25V766, my model year and 2.0L hybrid powertrain fall within the affected range. These overlapping recalls, combined with recurring electrical issues across the 4xe lineup, reflect a broader pattern of safety defects that place owners at risk. The cumulative trend is alarming: multiple consecutive battery-related fire recalls, prior software updates that failed to resolve the issue, and now possible engine contamination. These issues continue to undermine confidence in the vehicle’s safety, reliability, and long-term performance. I am submitting this complaint because the vehicle remains subject to an open fire-risk recall with no repair available, and the expanding list of related recalls suggests a systemic problem with the Jeep 4xe’s high-voltage and engine systems. I am seeking NHTSA’s further review and investigation. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

This vehicle is a danger to drive, and there is no information on when they will fix it. I have taken the battery in to fix it before and it took over 2 weeks to repair, and more problems with more recalls. The engine is said that it can cause fire like the battery. This vehicle is not safe to have and continues to be a severe safety problem for me and my family, Two of the recalls right now they have no idea how to fix. It is not fair that I am paying for this vehicle and I can't even drive it.

Monday, November 3rd, 2025 In electric mode - I drove the vehicle forward out of a parking spot. The vehicle made three very large lurches over a 200 foot length of parking lot, enough to bang drivers and passengers heads hard against the head rests each with a loud clunk. Within seconds after the third lurch, the car went into gas/oil refresh mode (which transitions the vehicle from electric mode to gas mode). At that point the accelerator became unresponsive with RPMs hovering just over 1000. After multiple successive press, hold and releases of the accelerator, I took my foot off thinking I had lost all power and was preparing to shut the vehicle off. Before I could, the car began accelerating quickly forward without my foot on the accelerator. This lasted for 1 - 2 seconds before the car stopped accelerating and I was able to use the brakes to stop it. Had this not been late evening (9:45p EST) - the parking lot would have been full of pedestrians and other vehicles which would have caused a collision with other vehicles, or worse caused me to strike a pedestrian. I had no control over the vehicle. I put the vehicle in park and shut it down. After a minute, I restarted the vehicle and brought it home. The check engine light has been lit since. At this time (Monday, November 10th), the vehicle is still at the dealership (brought in Wednesday, November 5th) being investigated for this as well as the transmission (?) issue that was causing the lurching described.

Oct 9, 2025

1) Vehicle lost power in traffic with no warning other then a dashboard red wrench 2) Rear collision warning does not work intermittently 3) Forward collision warning not operable 4) Rain sensing wipers do not work intermittently

Since purchasing the vehicle in January of 2024 , I have had the same repeated safety issues that the dealership and Chrysler were made aware of . I was told that no other vehicles of my make and model had the same issues so I was not listened to . While driving vehicle has slammed on the breaking system for no apparent reason at different speeds. Last time this happened I was on the thruway doing 65 mph. This has happened over 10 times and has been extremely scary and upsetting. The Hybrid system alert has flashed over 30 times and the vehicle has stalled with loss of power. The transmission either jerks or there is a large lag of power -sometimes gas pedal needs to be pinned in order for vehicle to go forward. I have complained to the dealership and Chrysler about the safety issues and how the battery has not work as expected upon purchasing and all the safety issues. I have been mislead by Chrysler on the performance and use of the vehicle. I have asked for a resolution for over a year- lemon law, buy back , but I have to continue to drive an unsafe vehicle. There is a loss of power in the moment the propulsion changes from electric to gas followed by an error message to "service hybrid electrical system". Dealer inspected an found there is currently no remedy. Seems to be a known issue by now.

Vehicle randomly will not shift from first gear to second gear. This has caused very high rpm’s in first gear and I have almost been hit from behind each time. I must put flashers on, pull over, shut engine off and restart to clear the issue! It is Very Dangerous! It has been to the dealership to be fixed, but they have been unable to duplicate the issue

UNKNOWN- the vehicle jolted and stopped when no one was in front of me thankfully no one was behind me.

After 95B recall in Late March vehicle had service hybrid electric vehicle system with red wrench. Scheduled appt and it stopped so I canceled. It showed up multiple times again so I scheduled another which was scheduled for Sept 22nd which was the soonest appt available. Statement from my husband : On September 5, 2025 I made three cross town trips while returning home on the conclusion of the third trip I merged onto interstate 94 from Sheyenne Street in West Fargo ND while merging onto the interstate from the on-ramp I was traveling at approximately 60 mph and as soon as I was on the interstate the service warning came on and there was no acceleration as a semi was approaching from behind, the service message was on for a second and went away and the notification was to step on the brake and push the start button. I was able to merge onto the shoulder, avoiding being struck by the semi, and was able to restart the vehicle once it came to a complete stop. On Saturday September 6, 2025 I contacted the dealership and explained how my husband almost got into a severe accident and the vehicle lost all propulsion and said they needed to get it in right away and they had no sense of urgency and said the soonest available was September 11, 2025. It has since been inspected and currently at the dealership Jeep has seized custody of the Jeep •I’m now paying for something you don’t have access to. •The rental they have been given is a downgrade, which is not a “comparable replacement” standard most manufacturers commit to during a stop-drive. Furthermore Jeep endangered my husband, grounded your vehicle, and is now offering you less mobility than you contracted for. That’s a breach of trust, contract, and safety obligations all in one. They continue to send me to voicemails that are full. I went in today and asked for them to provide resolution as the lease is up in 8 months and they were again supposed to update me and have not.

Sep 13, 2025

Was driving approx 55 mph and the vehicle just shut off. Warning lights came on. Was unable to restart vehicle for 10-15 minutes. Once the car restarted drove it home and had roadside assistance tow it to dealership. They had car for almost two weeks and couldn’t replicate issue. They said it didn’t throw any codes either.

73C / NHTSA 25V576 Recall regarding loss of propulsion/vehicles stopping and / or decelerating.

Sep 6, 2025

Backing into a parking space in reverse the vehicle all of a sudden begins to accelerate forward with the gear selector showing "R" illuminated almost causing me to hit 2 cars parked in front of me. After putting the vehicle in park and reverse again i was able to park and then the vehicle gave a "service hybrid system" warning and then stalled out. I had no issues prior to this and it seems the 95B recall had something to do with it as I had this performed a week prior. It has a stored code for " digital input crash " according to the dealer but they said it is deemed safe to drive. I don't think so.

I was driving my Jeep grand Cherokee 2023 at night on the 580 freeway in Northern California. Was traveling about 65 MPH. When the vehicle lost all power. I was barely able to pull off to the right shoulder still was partially in the right most lane. After multiple attempts of Restart the vehicle, it did restart after about 10 minutes. I’ve taken the vehicle in to the nearest dealership on a flatbed truck. It has been there since the beginning of June. Jeep is unable to repair the vehicle sighting a software update needed for the hybrid system that they have not released yet. This problem will apply to any 4XE vehicle by Jeep. Vehicle is not safe to operate on public roads. Jeep does not seem interested in accelerating the fix. I’ve been waiting nearly 3 1/2 months.

1. Driving freeway, Lightening bolt warning, ETC came on lost power. 2. At home level 2 charging, charge to 100%. Next day EV charge down to 85% lost 15%. Car sits 3 days down to 1% EV charge. Discharging for no reason. 3. Took to dealer, check for codes. No Fix available. Dealership, took car and put me into rental. I was told unsafe to drive and told may be 2 to 3 months before fix will be available. Currently dealership has 3 other cars taken off the road. One has been there since June. All recalls had been done!

A known issue by jeep affecting many Grand Cherokee PHEV Hybrids, all following the 95 B recall. The recall repair 95 B is attributed to be causing Red Flag Dashboard Warnings to "service hybrid system". Dealer computer scans document these incidents as a "Digital Crash" of the vehicle's onboard computer. Multiple incidents for me have been transitory but for others, these digital crashes are causing engine shut downs on the highway -- see the attachments for 4 such cases downloaded from the Jeep website. Obviously crazy things can happen when a car's computer shuts down while driving -- no one knows if my next Digital Crash could shut down my engine when I am in a multi-car passing situation on a 2 lane highway at 70 MPH and yet that scenario is happening to others. I have seen 3 jeep dealers and have documentation on those digital scans for my vehicle-- Jeep is aware of the problem but they have no-fix. There are over 500 complaints on the public jeep 4xe website across multiple conversation threads of people having this exact problem. You can see from the attachment that the dealers are telling owners that the cars are 'unsafe to drive' because they do recognize that the next digital crash of the computer will be a fatal accident. None of these problems existed before that recall was available in January. Something in that NHTSA 95 B recall for the Grand Cherokee PHEV was defective and is causing these digital crashes -- jeep does not dispute that, at least from what I have been told. Jeep has to be required to do another recall to fix the earlier 95 B recall. It has been close to 6 months now without a fix and nothing is happening. It is probably a software fix, but it needs to be done and at this point it appears that they must be forced to do so by NHTSA. Please see the 4 attachments of what others have encountered. < on your below questions -- Multiple incidents, multiple dates, multiple speeds for me>

My Jeep has been a consistent problem. The vehicle gives many warning and "service powertrain" warnings in the dashboard. Additionally, at the same time as the warnings, the vehicle will lurch - slowing down significantly and making passengers in the vehicle panic. I have gone to the dealer to already fix not 1 but 5, yes FIVE, recalls related to the powertrain system. This last visit (today) I was told that Stellantis acknowledges the issue, but does not have a fix. This vehicle was clearly not ready for production and Stellantis needs to be held accountable to it's customers.

The vehicle is a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid SUV. While driving in heavy traffic on a 45 mph road, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion, with the dash lighting up with a large "Service Hybrid System" warning. After several seconds of no response, with traffic trying to work its way around my stalled SUV, the vehicle began to move again, albeit very slowly, just enough to limp it to a side street. After another 30 seconds or so, the problem cleared itself and the vehicle returned to a normal state of propulsion. I took the car to the dealer where I left it for more than a week. Apparently this is a known issue, and a code appeared (B273C-00, Digital Crash Input), but they were not able to replicate the issue while they had the vehicle and so they just reset the code. The automaker is also aware of this problem, but doesn't deem it severe enough to issue a warning to customers or provide alternative transportation while a fix is developed. The dealer's advice is to let them know when it happens again. At this point, I don't feel the vehicle is safe to drive, and it will remain parked until a fix is available.

Jun 30, 2025

The “Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System” has been coming on intermittently for several months. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they replaced a wiring harness. That did not fix the issue. The light continues to come on and Jeep technicians have no idea how to fix the issue. Today the light came on and the vehicle stalled and lost propulsion for about 3 seconds and then lurched hard forward as the power returned to the engine. This issue is widespread across social media yet Jeep has done nothing to remedy it. This is a major safety issue, especially with the unexpected lurching forward of the vehicle.

Jun 17, 2025

I was traveling on the highway at highway speed during peak commuting times when a notice to service hybrid system was displayed on the gauge cluster. The vehicle then lost all acceleration and shut down. I had to safely navigate to the side of the road with zero ability to accelerate or brake in fear of not being able to get off the roadway safely. I was automatically shifted into park once I reached a speed of around 5 mph.

Jun 15, 2025

Multiple incidents of the vehicle displaying a Service Hybrid System that appears for several seconds and then disappears. Today this occured, the engine abruptly switched to gas mode from hybrid with a sudden lurch, then returned to hybrid mode and the light disappeared . Vehicle has been to dealership twice for the service hybrid System light and no code is stored and they could not diagnose any further.

Jun 1, 2025

The vehicle has been regularly throwing an error saying Service Hybrid System and having a massive stutter in power while the hybrid motor shuts off and the engine is started to try and take over immediately. The vehicle has been in the shop for this previously, only to be returned to me saying they don’t have a fix for the problem and to continue to drive it. This happened again at highway speed and caused a near immediate loss of 10-15 miles per hour and were it not for evasive driving on my part and the other car, would have caused an accident. This powertrain has major issues that continue to happen.

May 22, 2025

Various vehicle systems fail to operate. Power steering may not work, parts of the powertrain may fail to operate. The vehicle has a code B273C-00 which Stellantis says their engineers are aware of but have no fix nor any timeline for a fix. This can rendee the vehicle inoperable or dangerous to drive as there is no knowing which vehicle systems will fail. This is an ongoing problem, not a one time event.

May 13, 2025

When accelerating at highway speeds there is a significant power lag when the vehicle switches from between the internal combustion engine (ICE) and the electric motor causing deceleration in the vehicle. This is typically followed by a sudden surge in power causing rapid acceleration. This causes unpredictable speed and makes merging onto highway traffic difficult. When this issue occurs the "Service Hybrid Electric Vehicle System" warning lights illuminates. After several miles, the warning will turn off, but this occurs off and on when changing lanes, merging, or braking in heavy traffic. This typically only occurs at highway speeds when the vehicles transfers between ICE and Electric power frequently and has not been observed at normal city street speeds. The sporadic acceleration performance makes this vehicle dangerous to drive at highway speeds unless the electric motor is turn off. The car has been returned to the dealership numerous times to address this issue as it is still covered under warranty. However, they have informed us that "The code present in the car is currently under investigation by Chrysler. The Chrysler representative told us not to change any parts until Chrysler makes a decision on a potential recall." Despite repeated calls with Stellantis / Jeep customer service who promised us to expedite parts to the dealership for resolution, we are stil left driving this unsafe vehicle. This problem arose within 48 hours of the battery recall maintenance being performed and has been recurring ever since the repair.

May 1, 2025

Since purchase the vehicle has had a number of electrical issues. From non functioning automatic mirrors, and memory seating, to blacking out infotainment systems to the bigger recalls. Jeep issued a recall notice early October of 2024 for the High Voltage (hybrid) battery. The recall advised customers not to charge the vehicle due to risk of fire. The hybrid feature was the main reason for purchasing this specific vehicle. With my wifes daily commute well withing the batteries capacity we were filling up at the gas station about once a month. Now being unable to charge the vehicle we were filling up more than weekly. This obviously increased the cost of ownership quite a bit. This also greatly decreased the performance of the vehicle as the electric motors provided significantly more power to the underpowered 4 cylinder gas engine. At some point I debated charging the vehicle anyway but being that my home charging area is directly below my [XXX] sons bedroom I ultimately decided against it. Brought the vehicle to the dealer in November of 24 and they refused it as no repair had been released. I tried to stay on top of things, following multiple web forums to have the most up to date information. When I knew that the fix was to be released in the first week of the new year I attempted to get ahead of it and make a service appointment. The dealer would not allow this even though I knew the fix would be available. By the time the “fix” was formally release and I was able to call to make an appointment they were nearly 2 months out from their first available date. After Jeep "fixed" the recall we have been getting intermitent "service hybrid electric vehcle system" warnings on the dash board as well as random losses in power to the engine and or motor. Brought back to dealer where they acknowledged software issue but had no fix available. They determined it was "safe" to dirve and had me take it back. Report: Jeep Grand Cherokee 2023 table number [XXX]. Vin [XXX] Piston malfunction. **Vehicle:** 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Tablet:[XXX]. Vin [XXX] **Date of purchase** February 2023. **Problem:** Piston malfunction That began in September 2023. **Dealer:** Alberic Colón Chrysler, Jeep, Puerto Rico **Event timeline:** 1. September 2023: The malfunction of the piston in the Jeep Grand Cherokee 2023 began. 2. September 4, 2023: He visited the dealership, Alberic Colón, to report the malfunction and request repairs. The dealer did not adequately document the malfunction during this visit. 3. May 1, 2023: A second visit to the dealership was made for the same problem, but the malfunction was not resolved and the problem persisted. 4. **September 2024:** Another visit was made to the dealer, since the piston problem remains unresolved and the dealer has not yet addressed or adequately documented the malfunction. In all previous visits it is documented by the concessionaire that at the time of the test it did not present condition. 5. **Current status (to date):** The problem remains unresolved and we have continued to be without a vehicle every time the unit is taken to the warranty area. The amount of time that the vehicle is in the workshop is indefinite and at no time has we been offered a vehicle similar to a loaner as established by regulations #19 and #21 of the Department of Consumer Affairs (DACO). Despite multiple attempts to solve the problem, the dealer has not repaired the vehicle and the problem continues. This last time we have been without a vehicle for the whole month of September 2024. This represents a chronic anguish for our family, since we depend on our vehicle to be able to work in our accounting business. In addition to all this, this problem with the unit has created an insecurity in us, since at any time it can leave us without service; we have the responsibility to pick up and leave our grandchildr INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA),

The vehicle will run extremely rough and not accelerate when needed especially after filling the tank with gasoline. It will almost die in the intersection when you’re trying to get past Traffic. It will not reach Highway speed at times and when you step on the gas the engine makes a strange noise and it slows down. The vehicle is very dangerous in this regard. One time I almost had an accident because of it. I have had the vehicle to the Jeep dealership at least six times for this issue and they cannot confirm that it happens on their own and they cannot fix it. I have video evidence of this problem taking place over many months. Chrysler and jeep will not help me. I am concerned about the welfare of the public if they are driving a similar vehicle.

While we (Husband, Wife, [XXX] old & [XXX] old daughter) were doing a cross country road trip from Olympia, WA to Raleigh, NC, we experienced a serious safety issue while driving in the State of Iowa on [XXX] The incident happened around 5 PM local time on [XXX] just before [XXX] in the outskirts of Davenport, IA. The GPS location of the incident is (XXX) While I was driving in this freeway on the left most lane doing around 70 mph, suddenly I lost power to the engines. Within seconds, I managed to my pull over my vehicle to the shoulder. After few trials of restarting my vehicle, I couldn't get it to start. So, I ended up calling the Jeep Roadside Assistance. Due to the concern of the safety of my family on the freeway, I called 911 seeking assistance for protecting my family inside the car from the fast moving vehicles. Within 15-20 mins of my call, the Roadside assistance personnel as well as the Iowa State Highway Helper arrived at the scene to assist us. The Tow truck person and the Highway helper both tried some steps to get my vehicle to start, but they couldn't. So, the tow person offered to tow my Jeep to the nearby Jeep Dealership (Kimberly Car City) at Davenport, IA (whom I called around 5:10 PM to alert them of my situation). The Tow person towed the vehicle and also rode me and my [XXX] to the Jeep dealership, whilst the Highway Helper rode my wife and [XXX] to the same dealership. We reached the dealership around 5:45 PM and they were closing at 6 PM. So, the dealership had a technician look at my vehicle the next day (XXX) and he found that my fuel sensors malfunctioned and wasn't displaying the correct fuel reading. Whilst the fuel gauge indicated that I was still having about 100 miles of fuel left to go, I was actually completely run out of fuel. Had I not acted within seconds, my vehicle would have come to a complete stop in the middle of the freeway posing severe danger to our lives. Jun 26, 2024 Crash

The engine would randomly accelerate , rev and make a whining noise, slip into neutral and I would have to pull over and shut it off sometimes in an unsafe area. Occasionally when I would start the engine it would rev as though I had my foot on the gas and I would shut it back off. I was traveling on the highway approximately 70 mph and cancelled the cruise control to go around a curve and pressed on the gas to merge into 70 mph traffic on another highway, and nothing happened. When I got to the end of the ramp the car was going 32 mph with my foot to the floor on the gas panic stricken. Suddenly the gas engaged and I shot into the traffic trying to avoid me. I took the car home, parked it in the garage and called a local dealership for service explaining the problems I was having. I went to resume my trip in a friends car because I was frightened to drive mine. While I was away my partner went to move the car a few feet to get to the trash barrel and when he put it in reverse the car shot 8 feet at high speed out of the garage and hit a tree. He went to the hospital and the car was taken on a flatbed to the dealership where I purchased it. There is considerable damage. The acceleration problem happened at least 15 times and I have several adults that were in the car and witnessed it. Chrysler did the diagnostics and said there is no defect. I would Never attempt to drive the car again and if I traded it in then an unsuspecting person could be hurt or killed in it.

As noted on the IIHS.org website, 2022 and 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee's built prior to April 2023 experienced a fuel tank rupture in the side impact test conducted by IIHS. Stellantis redesigned the underbody structure to correct this issue. This redesign was put in place on vehicles assembled after March 2023. IIHS originally tested a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee in October 2022 and identified the fuel tank rupture during the side impact test. However, IIHS did not post this information on their website until almost a year later when tests of the redesigned vehicle were performed, and the fuel tank leak issue had been corrected. Hence, 2022 and 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee’s built prior to April 2023 have a significant safety concern that IIHS did not inform the public about in a reasonable time frame and more importantly, Stellantis is aware of but has not issued a recall to correct the issue on vehicles that were built prior to the redesign. Please review the side crash results on IIHS paying attention to the 2022 test where the fuel tank ruptured. Brings back memories of the infamous Ford Pinto gas tank design. I am asking for NHTSA to assist in requiring Stellantis to issue a recall on vehicles built prior to the redesign to either modify the vehicle to address the fuel tank rupture concern, or if that is not possible buy back the vehicles. Please contact me by e-mail [XXX] ) of cell [XXX] if you require more information to pursue this issue. Thank you. Gas gauge, miles to empty, and low fuel indicator are not correct. I ran out of gas (without knowing it) twice. There was no gad light that came on. Fuel gauge said almost 1/4 tank full and 68 miles to empty. The first time this happened I had it towed to dealership thinking the AEB system stopped the car. Dealership found no issues. It happened a second time and my husband thought about the gas gauges being inaccurate and put gas in. He was right, started right up after putting gas in. After I filled it, I drove 300 miles before the Full line on the gauge started to move down. The whole system is not right when showing fuel levels. You would think the gas light would at least come on if you were out of gas
