When I pull up somewhere and apply brakes it will start jerking and act like it wants to go but if I put the Jeep in park or neutral it stops. It's like the whole jeep will lunge forward when I am sitting there with my foot on the brake and it just feels like it's going to take off or die. it can't make up its mind.

Inside of circle looked on manual its marked as transmission overheat when vehicle cools down can start driving again I've brought to dealer in NJ and fla for problem mechanics state can't duplicate message so did unwanted repairs when today 10/30/2023 after complaining to Chrysler now they can dupicate message and states theres a problem with transmission this problem had been with me since I brought car in 2014 i looked online and have seen many complaints about the cvt transmission my car is at dealer now with price tag of 9000 to repair please help me get my repairs

The contact stated while driving 70 MPH on a long road trip, the vehicle suddenly failed to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal with the transmission temperature message displayed. ITS HAPPENED TO ME ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHERE THERE WAS BARELY ANY SHOULDER ALONG THE HIGHWAY, I THOUGHT MY GRANDDAUGHTER & I WERE GOING TO BE KILLED. IVE HAD IT TO THE DEALERSHIP MUTLIPLE TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM SINCE PURCHASING IT FROM DEALERSHIP AND HAVE HAD NO RESOLVE. ON ONE OCCASION THE JEEP HAD BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR A MONTH NOW AND ALL THEY KEPT TELLING ME IS THAT THEY CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. CURRENT SITUATION - LAST MONTH (MARCH) I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE THE JEEP OVER 20 MPH. I'VE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES REGARDING THIS AND I CAN'T GET ANYONE TO GIVE ME AN ANSWER IF THEY ARE GOING TO TAKE CARE OF THE TRANSMISSION. I AM ANGRY AT THIS POINT. WE'VE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION TO THE DEALERSHIP SINCE WE PURCHASED IT NOW I AM WITHOUT A VEHICLE AND I WORK IN HEALTHCARE. I THINK THIS MAY FALL UNDER THE LEMON LAW. I WAS DRIVING APPROX 45 MPH WHEN I HEARD A POPPING NOISE FOLLOWED BY GRINDING NOISE WHILE IN 5TH GEAR. TOOK MY CAR TO THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD IT LOOKED LIKE THE TRANSMISSION. I THEN TOOK IT TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP WHO VERIFIED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHOT. IT WAS CRACKED IN SEVERAL PLACES. I HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED WITH A NEW ONE. WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP MY CAR, I ASKED TO TAKE PICTURES SO THAT I COULD TALK TO JEEP ABOUT HAVING A TRANSMISSION FAIL AT 103K MILES. WHILE TAKING PICTURES AND LOOKING AT THE DAMAGED TRANSMISSION, THE MECHANIC SAID " WAIT A MINUTE. WHAT YEAR IS YOUR JEEP?" I TOLD HIM IT WAS A 2014. HE SAID, "LOOK AT THIS STICKER. IT MEANS THAT THIS TRANSMISSION WAS MANUFACTURED IN 2016. SO, YOU ARE ACTUALLY ON YOUR 3RD TRANSMISSION." I WAS ABLE TO TRACK THE TRANSMISSION BY THE PART NUMBER AND FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS INSTALLED IN JULY 2016. THE ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 51,477 MILES. THE ONE THAT JUST CAME OUT FAILED AT 52, 075 MILES.

I HAVE A 2014 JEEP PATRIOT SPORT 2.0L 4CYL WUTH A CVT TRANSMISSION. I BOUGHT IT USED CERTIFIED IN FEB 2018. ABOUT A MONTH INTO OWNING THE VEHICLE IT STARTED TO BUCK AND JERK. THE CAR SHAKES WHILE ON IDLE AND THERE IS A LOUD HELICOPTER SOUND COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE CAR. I TOOK TO TO 3 DIFFERENT JEEP DEALER AND NOBODY COULD TELL ME WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR. ABOUT 3 MONTHS AFTER THAT THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THIS HAPPENED AS I TURNED ON MY STREET TO GO HOME. I HAD TO WAIT A FEW MINUTES AND IT TURNED IT BACK ON AND DROVE AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED. I TOOK IT TO LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FIRING ANY CODES NOR WAS THERE ANY WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH. THE LATEST INCIDENT HAPPEND ON AUGUST 18, 2019 DRVING HOME FROM A CAMPING TRIP. I HAD 2 PASSENGERS IN THE CAR WITH ME.THE CAR BUCKS AND JERKS WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR STALLS WHILE IM DRVING THE SPEED LIMIT AT 60 MPH. THANKFULLY I WAS IN THE SLOW LANE AND WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE RIGHT. AFTER BEING ALL SHAKEN UP, AGAIN I HAD WAITIED A FEW MINUTES AND CAR STARTED AND DROVE AS IF NOTING HAPPEND. IT WAS ONE OF THE SCARIEST THINGS I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO LOCAL MECHANICS AND THEY DINT KNOW WHATS WRONG WITH IT. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS CAUSING THIS. I HAVE COMPLETED REGULAR MAINTENANCE ON THE CAR SO THIS HAS COME OUT OF NOWHERE. I SEE PREVIOUSLY THERE WAS A RECALL FOR A LOSS OF OIL PRESSURE WHICH COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STALL BUT I'M NOT SURE IF MY VEHICLE WENT THROUGH THIS RECALL.

THE INPUT SHAFT BEARING STARTED MAKING GRINDING AND WHINING NOISES WHEN THE CLUTCH WAS LET OUT WHILE PARKED AND DRIVING. SOON HAD TROUBLES SHIFTING AND MY TRANSMISSION NOT WANTING TO GO INTO GEAR. I LOOKED ON THE INTERNET FOR A REMEDY AND NOTICED THOUSAND OF COMPLAINTS RELATED TO THIS SAME ISSUE INVOLVING MOST JEEP VEHICLES. ONE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 31,000 MILES WHEN THEIR TRANSMISSION FAILED. MY VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE AUTOMOTIVE SHOP. THEY STATED THAT I HAVE 3 OPTIONS WHICH INCLUDE REBUILD MY CURRENT TRANSMISSION (WHICH MAY BE A TOTAL LOSS) , BUY A USED TRAMSMISSION ( NO GUARANTEE OF WHEN ANOTHER FAILURE WILL OCCUR), OR BUY A NEW TRANSMISSION FROM THE DEALERSHIP (NO GUARANTEE OF WHEN FAILURE WILL OCCUR). THE AUTOMOTIVE SHOP STATED THAT THERE IS A PARTS SHORTAGE DUE TO THIS ISSUE AND MAY NOT BE ABLE TO OBTAIN THE PARTS TO REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION AND ALSO LACK OF USED TRANSMISSIONS DUE TO THE SAME ISSUE. I JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE 1 YEAR AGO AND WILL HAVE TO PAY THOUSANDS TO FIX IT DUE TO A KNOWN PROBLEM IN THE AUTOMOTIVE COMMUNITY WITHOUT ANY GUARANTEE OF WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. THE OWNER OF MY LOCAL AUTOMOTIVE SHOP TOLD ME TO SELL IT BECAUSE OF THE KNOWN TRANSMISSION FAILURE. I SAVED MONEY TO BUY THIS JEEP WITH CASH AND DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO CONTINUALLY REPLACE TRANSMISSIONS IN IT. BIG PROBLEM FOR JEEP AND QUALITY OF THEIR PRODUCTS. BIGGER PROBLEM FOR THE OWNERS THAT ARE PAYING THOUSANDS TO FIX THEIR VEHICLES. THEIR TRANSMISSIOMS SHOULD BE RECALLED DUE TO NOT MODEL SPECIFIC. ALL JEEP MODELS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. I CANNOT BELIEVE THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE ALREADY.

THE CAR BEGAN STO SHAKE. THE ENGINE LIGHT, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT, AND STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT COME ON. I PULLED OVER THE THE NEAREST GAS STATION. TURNED CAR OFF AND BACK IN AGAIN. RPMS OVER 2500. THEY DIED DOWN AFTER 2 MIN. ALL LIGHTS STILL FLASHING. GOT IT TO SOMEWHERE YO HAVE CODES READ. "HIGH AIRFLOW VACUUM LEAK". NURSED IT HOME,.COULD NOT GO OVER 20MP. ANYTHING OVER 20MPH THE CAR SHOOK VIOLENTLY. RPMS WERE OVER 2000. ALL OF THIS DRIVING WAS KN CITY STREETS WITH SPEED LIMITS NOT GOING OVER 35MPH. WE TRIED TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY TODAY. STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. JEEP ON NEUTRAL (MANUAL TRANNY) RPMS OVER 2000 STILL.

CAR HAS LESS THAN 30K MILES. ISSUE HAS BEEN RECURRENT SINCE PURCHASING-- NOW, ITS TO THE POINT THAT WE ARE TOO AFRAID TO DRIVE DEATH TRAP. CAR ENGINE DIES WHILE DRIVING AND VEHICLE IS INOPERABLE. NOW, THE PROBLEM OCCURS MORE FREQUENTLY. THERE'S NO WARNING PRIOR TO CAR COMPLETELY DYING. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE ON THE HIGHWAY ALMOST GETTING US KILLED. IT ALSO OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING DOWN SIDE SIDES/MAIN ROADS SINCE WE NOW FEAR DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY PEOPLE WILL BE KILLED BY THIS - IF THEY HAVEN'T BEEN SO FAR

I AM WRITING IN REGARDS TO AN ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING WITH MY JEEP PATRIOT THAT UPON FURTHER RESEARCH SEEMS TO BE PLAGUING MANY PATRIOT OWNERS AS WELL WITH NO SOLUTION. RANDOMLY MY VEHICLE WOULD LOSE ACCELERATION AND THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT WOULD LIGHT. WHEN THIS WOULD HAPPEN I WOULD LOSE THE POWER TO ACCELERATE AND WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. ONCE RESTARTED THE PROBLEM WOULD NO LONGER BE THERE AS IF IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. SOMETIMES THE 4WD AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WOULD IGNITE DURING THESE EPISODES. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN FOR DIAGNOSTICS, BUT NOTHING POPPED ON THEIR END AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE ONLY WAY FOR THEM TO KNOW WHAT IS WRONG IS IF IT HAPPENS WHEN THEY HAVE IT. BEING THERE CAN BE A WEEK OR MORE BETWEEN EPISODES THIS ISN'T FEASIBLE. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND FIXED BY THE MANUFACTURER BEING IT'S DANGEROUS FOR THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS. JUST TWO WEEKS AGO MY VEHICLE HAD THIS EPISODE OCCUR WHILE CROSSING AN INTERSECTION. THANKFULLY I MANAGED TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION WITHOUT INCIDENT BUT BEING A PREGNANT MOTHER DRIVING HER TODDLER AROUND THIS SITUATION COULD OF COST US OUR LIVES. TONIGHT MY CAR DID THE SAME AND I NEARLY GOT HIT BECAUSE I LOST ACCELERATION SUDDENLY ON A 55MPH ROAD. THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A SAFE PLACE BUT NOW MY VEHICLE IS NO LONGER DRIVABLE AND WILL HAVE TO BE TOWED TO BE FIXED. THIS VEHICLE ONLY HAS 72000 MILES ON IT .

THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START FROM A STATIONARY POSITION INCLUDING ANY ELECTRICAL EXCEPT FOR "NO BUS" ON THE DASHBOARD. THIS BEGAN AROUND 34,500 MILES IN AUGUST 2016. I TOOK MY VEHICLE THE LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE ISSUE. I RETURNED IN DECEMBER TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND NOTHING COULD BE FOUND. IN FEBRUARY OF 2017 I WAS ABLE TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE FOR 3 DAYS BUT STILL NOTHING COULD BE FOUND. THIS DOES NOT OCCUR EVERY TIME BUT THE ONLY TEMPORARY SOLUTION IS TO DISCONNECT AND RECONNECT THE BATTERY, WHICH WAS WHAT I USED UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO HAVE IT TOWED IN. IN JANUARY OF 2018 I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP WHEN THE ISSUE OCCURRED. THE FINAL SOLUTION WAS THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE WAS REPLACED.

GET THE CAR BACK TO NOT ONLY HAVE THE SAME ISSUES AGAIN ALONG WITH ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION SEEMING TO SLIP. I WAS APPROACHING A RED LIGHT- AGAIN WITH MY SON IN THE CAR, WHILE BREAKING- THE CAR JUMPS RPM AND ALMOST RAN INTO CAR IN FRONT OF ME. ALSO ON CRUISE CONTROL THE CAR WOULDN'T STOP REV'N THE ENGINE. IT WAS STUCK OVER 4 RPM. I BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR SAFETY BUT IT IS FAR FROM SAFE. THERE WAS AN AIRBAG RECALL BUT WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR IT WAS MARKED AS A SEAT BELT RECALL. I WOULD OF STEERED CLEAR IF I KNEW ABOUT AIRBAG BUT NOW I KNOW AIRBAG MAY NOT WORK IN CRASH OR WILL DEPLOY RANDOMLY EVEN IF IT WAS FIXED IT'S NOT A LEGIT FIX DUE TO ELECTRICAL?! ALSO I BELIEVE THE RECALL ON 2.4 ENGINES SHOULD ALSO BE LOOKED INTO FOR MORE POSSIBLE CARS AFFECTED. MY CAR FOLLOWS SAME PROBLEMS AS THOSE RECALLED AND SAME ENGINE BUT MINES NOT RECALLED. THIS CAR CLUNKS IN AND OUT OF DRIVEWAYS. IT FEELS LIKE IT WILL FALL APART. THE WEATHER STRIPING IS POOR ALLOWING WATER TO GET IN CAUSING MOLDY SMELL. THE BRAKE LIGHTS ACCUMULATE WATER. THERE SEEM TO BE SIGNS OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS HOWEVER MECHANIC CAN'T SEE IT. CAN'T CHARGE PHONE AN LISTEN TO RADIO UNLESS YOU LIKE STATIC! SAME WITH AUX CORD, JUST STOPPED WORKING. AT INTERSTATE SPEED (65-70 MPH) THE CAR WILL BEGIN TO MAKE A SQUEAL NOISE AND WITHIN FIVE MINUTES I AM PLAYING LEAP FROG TO GET TO THE EMERGENCY LANE AT MAX SPEED OF (20 MPH) AND THE VEHICLE IS VERY JERKY. WHEN IT DOES THIS ALL FLUIDS IN THE CAR ARE FINE, GIVE IT ABOUT 20 MINUTES AND THE CAR WILL ACT NORMAL, BUT I CANNOT TRUST IT TO GET BACK ON THE INTERSTATE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR TWO YEARS. I'VE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT I PURCHASED IT FROM AND THEIR USELESS EXTENDED WARRANTY AND NOTHING GETS DONE! I HAVE CONTINUALLY BEEN TOLD THEY CANNOT FIND ANY SIGNS VIA COMPUTER IT HAS DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS OR AFTER KEEPING IT FOR TWO WEEKS DRIVING IT AND LOOKING IT OVER IT HAS NO REASON TO. THIS MANIFESTS ITSELF AS AN INTERMITTENT LOSS OF POWER UNTIL THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHT COMES ON AT WHICH POINT I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. THERE IS AN EXCELLENT VIDEO BY MOTOR CITY MECHANIC ON YOUTUBE THAT EXPLAINS THIS ISSUE IN DETAIL. IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE ONE OF THESE FAILS AT SPEED AND SOMEONE IS KILLED.

THE COMPUTER IS AUTOMATICALLY PROGRAMED TO SHUT DOWN THE VEHICLE . THIS OCCURS WITHOUT REGARDS TRAFFIC, ROAD CONDITIONS OR SAFETY. WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE LAST YEAR AND HAVE RECORDED 55 SEPARATE OCCASIONS OF SUCH OPERATING HAZARDS. THIS ACTIVITY LEAVES THE STRANDED VEHICLE AT THE EDGE OF THE ROADWAY FOR PROLONGED PERIODS OF TIME AS TRAFFIC FLIES BY AT EXCESS OF 65 MPH OR HIGHER. THE STRANDED VEHICLE REPRESENTS A HAZARD TO BOTH THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE AS WELL AS THE VEHICLES IN TRANSIT NEARBY. THESE STOPS FOR THE VEHICLE CAN BE AS LONG AS THIRTY MINUTES FOR COOL DOWN. THE DANGERS POSED BY THIS ACTIVITY ARE GREATLY ENHANCED WHEN THIS OCCURS AT NIGHT. TRAFFIC STOPPED WITH LIGHTS AT ROADS EDGE ARE OFTEN CONFUSED WITH A MOVING VEHICLE AND DRIVERS PLOW INTO THE REAR OF THE STRANDED VEHICLE UNKNOWING IT IS AT A DEAD STOP. THESE COMPUTER GENERATED STOPS ARE INHERENTLY DANGEROUS. THE MANUFACTURER IS AWARE AN UNABLE TO MAKE THE DRIVE LINE MODIFICATIONS THAT WOULD ELIMINATE THE DANGERS POSED BY THIS DEFECT IN ENGINEERING. IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS NOT MADE AWARE TO THE MANUFACTURER IN TESTING TRIALS OF THESE PARTICULAR VEHICLES. PLEASE HELP US WITH THIS LEMON!!!

THIS ISSUE IS HAPPENING WITH MORE FREQUENT OCCURRENCES AS TIME GOES ON. MY ISSUES STARTED AT 2500 MILES, I AM AT 86,500 NOW. I CAN SAY THAT THE ISSUE HAS NEVER STARTED WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS, ONLY HAPPENS AT 60+ WITH AS LOW AS 2500 RPM INDICATED ON THE TACHOMETER.

I AM NOT HAULING HEAVY CARGO OR EXCEEDING THE POSTED SPEED LIMITS.

THE DEALER IS UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING TO HELP TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE AND WHEN I SPOKE WITH CHRYSLER THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY CAN NOT TAKE CARE OF IT EITHER. THEY'RE REASON IS THAT THE MANIFOLD CRACKED BECAUSE OF THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE. THE MILEAGE IS HIGH BECAUSE I WORKED FOR A CHRYSLER DEALER WHICH WAS 50 MILES AWAY!!!! I AM APPALLED AT THE FACT THAT NO ONE WANTS TO TAKE CARE OF AN ISSUE THAT A 2 YEAR OLD VEHICLE SHOULD NOT HAVE. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM CHRYSLER AGAIN AND I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!!

I WAS NOT TOWING ANYTHING. IN THE PAST, I REPORTED IT TO MY DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. SINCE DAY ONE OF PURCHASING THE PATRIOT MY VEHICLE HAS HAD NON-STOP ISSUES, MORE RECENTLY ALMOST RESULTING IN THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER BEING INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WITH AN 18 WHEELER AFTER THE VEHICLE WENT FROM 80MPH TO 40MPH IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES, TRANSMISSION FLUID LIGHT CAME ON AND RPMS STAYED AT 4200. THE CAR MADE A RIDICULOUS SCREAMING NOISE AND THIS WAS AFTER THE DEALERSHIP HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 2 WEEKS (THIRD TIME BRINGING IT IN FOR THE ABOVE PROBLEM) AND NOW IT IS AT THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN WHERE I AM BEING TOLD THERE ISN'T ANYTHING THEY CAN DO. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD NEW STRUTS (COMPLAINED ABOUT A CLUNKING NOISE WHEN TURNING LEFT AND SHOCKINGLY THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM UNTIL THE THIRD TIME BRINGING IT IN), NEW BRAKE SENSOR SWITCH AFTER THEY ALSO FOUND THE MASTER WAS LEAKING INTO THE BOOSTER AND THEN THEY FOUND THE SENSOR SWITCH BAD -THAT WAS OCTOBER OF 2015, APRIL 23RD 2016 THEY SAID THAT HAD TO BE REPLACED AND THAT WAS WHAT WAS CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE - I MAY BE A GIRL BUT I"M NOT STUPID (THAT WAS THE SECOND TIME I BROUGHT IT IN FOR THE TRANS. ISSUE). IT'S HAD A NEW RADIO AND TELEMATIC MODULES 5 TIMES, NEW ANTENNA, NEW TIRE SENSORS, MOLDING, DOOR PANEL, ETC. THIS CAR WAS TOO EXPENSIVE TO HAVE THESE ISSUES AND JEEP/CHRYSLER GROUP ARE TELLING ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS OBVIOUSLY OVER HEATING GOING INTO "LIMP" MODE RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE STAYING IN 4TH GEAR AND LOOSING SPEED - THIS VEHICLE IS A COFFIN ON WHEELS AND I WAS TOLD THIS WAS RELIABLE. WE HAVE EVERYTHING ON VIDEO THAT HAPPENED AFTER PICKING UP THE CAR FROM THE DEALERSHIP ON MAY 21, 2016 AND AFTER TAKING IT FOR A DRIVE TO ASSURE THE PROBLEM WAS GONE (AGAIN THIRD TIME IT WAS BROUGHT IN). THE TECH EVEN INFORMED ME THAT THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM HE SEES, BUT CHRYSLER HASN'T FIXED IT AND HOPES THERE'S A RECALL. FAST-FORWARD TO AUGUST 31ST, 2015, I ENCOUNTERED THE SAME PROBLEM TWICE WHILE DRIVING HOME THROUGH OH. I HAD AUTOZONE RUN A DIAGNOSTIC AND AGAIN, NO RECORDED CODES IN THE SYSTEM. I SEE A MECHANIC TOMORROW (FRIDAY, SEPT. 4TH) AND JEEP ON AUGUST 10TH. THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATS AND DOES NOT REPORT A REPAIR CODE TO THE MAIN COMPUTER IN THE VEHICLE AND THE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT REPAIR IT WITHOUT. VEHICLE HAS BROKEN DOWN MULTIPLE TIMES ON HIGHWAY DUE TO TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING.

I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEW FROM A DEALERSHIP ON 11/01/14. ON 11/28/14 I WANTED TO DRIVE IT BUT IT WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK INTO ANY GEAR. I CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND THEY TOWED IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY CHECKED THE GEARSHIFT AND IT SHIFTED EVERY TIME FOR THEM. THEY TOLD ME TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE, WHICH I DID. THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED A SECOND TIME ON 01/02/15. IT WAS AGAIN TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS TIME THE DEALERSHIP TECHNICIANS ALSO COULD NOT SHIFT THE VEHICLE OUT OF PARK. THEY SERVICED THE VEHICLE FOR SEVEN DAYS. THEY CALLED ME AND SAID THEY REPLACED A SO-CALLED INTERLOCK CABLE AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER BECAUSE THE CABLE HAD A 'KINK' AND IT WAS CAUSING "BINDING". THEY SAID THE VEHICLE WAS FIXED AND FOR ME TO PICK IT UP, WHICH I DID. THE "MILEAGE OUT" WAS 231. SINCE THEN AND UP UNTIL TODAY, 02/27/15, I HAVE ONLY DRIVEN IT AN ADDITIONAL 57 MILES AND THAT INCLUDES THE 15 MILES DRIVEN BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I ONLY DRIVE IT VERY SHORT DISTANCES AND PARK IT IN AN OPEN SPACE THAT IS EASILY ACCESSIBLE TO A TOW TRUCK IN CASE THE PROBLEM HAPPENS AGAIN. MY WIFE IS RELUCTANT TO DRIVE IT AND I DON'T BLAME HER. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE 'KINKED' CABLE WAS NOT A RANDOM 'FLUKE' BUT, RATHER, THAT IT MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE TOWING PROCESS WITH THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED IN PARK AND THE WHEELS BEING DRAGGED ALONG THE GROUND AND ONTO THE FLATBED TOW TRUCK BODY. ONCE THE KEY WAS PLACED IN THE IGNITION AND AN ATTEMPT TO START THE CARE WAS MADE, THE ENGINE HAD DIFFICULTY STARTING. IT WOULD ENGINE WOULD TURNOVER SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE IT WOULD FINALLY START. I CAN ONLY DESCRIBE IT AS THE SAME EXPERIENCE AN INDIVIDUAL WOULD EXPERIENCE WHEN STARTING A CAR AFTER REPLACING THE CARBURETOR. WHEN THIS OCCURS THE JEEP WILL STALL WITHOUT ABY EXPLANATION. I HAVE NEVER HAD A SPEEDING TICKET IN 20 YEARS OF DRIVING. I HAD THE CAR TESTED AND THE SPEEDOMETER WAS READING 8 MILES SLOWER THAN IT WAS ACTUALLY DRIVING. I REFUSED TO TAKE THE JEEP HOME. THE DEALER DID NOT WANT TO NEGOTIATE BUT I WAS SCARED TO DRIVE IT. WE AGREE ON ME TAKING A 2014 MODEL AND THEY RAISED MY PAYMENT BY ALMOST $70. A MONTH. 7 MONTHS AFTER TAKING HOME THE 2014 MODEL, THE CAR STARTED MAKING A LOUD NOISE. I RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THE TRANSMISSION WAS ALMOST GONE AND IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES, BEEN TO 2 DEALERS IN 2 STATES 4 TIMES. THE VEHICLE STRANDED ME ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS DOING THE SAME THING IN DANGEROUS AREA WITH CLIFFS OR STEEP DROP OFFS TO RIVERS AND ROCK OUT CROPS ON ONE SIDE. CHRYSLER HQ SAID THEY WILL NOT WORK ON MY VEHICLE ANYMORE AND THAT THE TRUCK IS PERFORMING AS DESIGNED! DESIGNED TO STRAND SOMEONE ON A WELL TRAVELED MINING ROAD THE OTHER PICKUPS CAN GET TO WITHOUT 4X4? I BOUGHT THIS 4X4 WITH THE OFF ROAD TRAIL RATED PACKAGE BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THE SELLING DEALER SAID I NEEDED FOR MINING. IT HAS NOT BEEN OFF ROAD. I CAN'T EVEN GET TO WHERE I WORK AND THIS VEHICLE HAS EVEN FAILED ON VERY SMALL HILLS WITH DEALERSHIP PERSONNEL IN THE VEHICLE. ANOTHER DEALER TEST DROVE IT, FAILED AND WOULDN'T GO OVER 2,300 RPM. THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. THEY DUPLICATED THE PROBLEM IN 4X4 DRIVE, 4X4 LOW, WITH AND WITHOUT TRACTION CONTROL. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT PULL ITS OWN WEIGHT AND NO WHEELS ARE EVEN SPINNING. VERY DANGEROUS DESIGN AND CAN'T EVEN GET TO MY JOB! WHEN I HAVE TO BACK DOWN BECAUSE IT WILL NOT GO FORWARD I HAVE TO MAKE SURE IT'S A PLACE PERPENDICULAR TO THE SLOPE OF THE INCLINE OR YOU ARE STUCK DIAGONAL TO THE ROAD AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT GO FORWARD AND THERE IS NO MORE ROOM TO BACK UP WITHOUT GOING OFF A CLIFF, FALLING INTO A RIVER OR SLIDING INTO A CANYON. *TR
