The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Patriot. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, there was a loud knocking sound coming from the engine. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: S18: (Engine Oil Consumption); however, the vehicle was not included in the program. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

Pressure plate replaced twice and still not working with only 27301 miles. Went in for routine oil change no problems during the last warranty oil change things start to change. Returned to the dealership to express problem report back oil needed top off. Checked for recalls none reported. Truck continued to drive funny popping out of gear when driving and speed decrease while driving on the interstate. No warning lights or any indication something was wrong. I haven't driven my truck in three years due to dealership not having staff and no one is willing to work on Jeep vehicles. Total waste of money and no support. The sad part the tow truck driver towed my neighbors car and remembered towing my truck and stated he has towed many more since.
My car has caught on fire with smoke at least 4 times, 3 times with my minor child inside of it. I have video to show you just how dangerous it is. All components of the vehicle have failed. I have put thousands of dollars into the vehicle and it only has 80,000 miles on it. My safety and my son and elderly mother's safety has been at extreme risk and my car is NOT SAFE TO OWN OR DRIVE. Carl Gregory, the dealer, never informed me EVER of a 2015 Jeep Patriot recall only three months after I purchased the vehicle while pregnant. The vehicle has been inspected/ worked on by Carl Gregory and now Southern Motors Jeep several times over the last 8 years located on Middleground Road at the corner of Abercorn Street in Savannah, Georgia. My insurance company has charged me to tow my vehicle at least six times as my son and I have been stranded all over the city waiting hours for a tow truck. There were no warning lamps on the vehicle prior to it catching fire and I have my car tuned regularly at Wal-Mart Automotive and cleaned at Montgomery Cross Roads Car Wash once a month. Today the engine stalled and I barely made it out of of the street which is highly dangerous for pedestrians and other drivers on the road. This is probably the 3rd time it has done that. The steering wheel stalls leaving me at the whim of an open road as my car goes out of control. The radio's electrical unit shut down two years ago and the back door does not open. I can't afford to fix those.The brakes were replaced approximately two years after owning it as the vehicle would not slow down during a red light (at the cost of $2,000). I had to veer right. Last November, the car was worked on and the clutch was replaced because it stopped working. One month ago we paid $600 for a new power steering hose to be replaced as it apparently was and continues to leak fluid. This has now been indicated on the dashboard as "hot oil". Currently, I love my car but my family and I are PETRIFIED AND TRAUMATIZED.

The transfer case is shot. As well as the rear differential. As a result of the transfer case messing up, the transmission is tore up. We need struts as well.
While driving the vehicle will randomly, without warning or any dash notification icons alerted, turn off engine- radio, lights, a/c everything else is still on but engine is off. This occurred 4 times in less than a 2 mile distance without any check engine or notification lights on the dash before, during, or after the event. This issue originally started about a week ago, when the check engine and throttle system notification icons came on, followed immediately by the car going into what seemed to be limp mode. Car was towed to the jeep dealership, they said issue was the battery and that an oil change was needed. Had issues addressed took the car how two days later, same issue occurred again. While driving same two icons suddenly came on then car went immediately into limp mode and was not driveable. Took the car back to the jeep dealer, they took a few days to drive it and stated it was the fuel throttle body that needed to be replaced. Had the part replaced and the car drove as normal, no icons on dash after the repair, next morning same issue occurred again while driving, icons come on dash, immediately car goes into limp mode. Circling back to the biggest concern, is I’ve found large amounts of owners having the exact same if not oddly similar issues with varying years of the jeep patriots. Many are reporting my reason for this report in that suddenly after Jeep dealers require all these repairs they’re experiencing the engine completely shutting off WHILE DRIVING. This is incredibly dangerous and I’m concerned as to why there A. Isn’t a repair for this common issue in these models, and B. Why a recall hasn’t been submitted for the most dangerous scenario where many owners are having their cars engines shut down while driving, and some at high speeds. This is incredibly dangerous and frustrating that our safety has not been addressed when online there are years worth of forums for these issues without resolution.
Engine stalls/shuts off while driving. No warning given. Even after having my fuel pump and throttle body replaced, the issue still occured. There seems to be a recall for other vehicles but mine isnt listed.

The contact stated that the vehicle was shifted to park and turned off. After waiting for several minutes, the vehicle was restarted and regained power; however, the vehicle was sputtering while starting. The check engine warning light illuminated with a red lightning bolt flashing when the failure occurred. The failure reoccurred after being repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the electronic throttle body had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The failure recurred a second time and the vehicle was returned to the mechanic but was not yet diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. This car keeps shutting off and having overheating issues on and off while driving. I have replaced all pistons, fuel injectors, relays, gaskets, thermostats, hoses, and the catalytic converter. I've seen that over 60,000 cases have been reported about this issue with this vehicle and these vehicles are still being sold used at used car dealers despite the issues being unrepairable. This is a real safety issue as the car stops running with no warning no matter where you are driving. You can see all the same reports on multiple sites online. Why hasn't jeep done anything about this issue? I know I bought mine used but I'm sure the used car dealer would have never had this vehicle on their lot if it was recalled as it should have been.
Catalytic converter is bad. Check engine light is on. Other 2015 Patriots have a recall for catalytic converter recall but mine is not on that list. Should be.
Over the past year, the car has had 4 crank position sensors, new pig tails/connectors on the wire harness, a new throttle body, and a new MCM. The Jeep will randomly shut off without warning either at stoplights/traffic or on the highway at speed. While at speed, the car will "restart" itself, but if it stalls while stagnant a manual restart is necessary. When the stalling occurs, warning lights do not appear on the dash. Lately, however; the crank position code P0339 has come up with the check engine light. I recently experienced a crank position sensor code followed by a cylinder 3 misfire which caused the car to go into limp mode. Once I replaced the MCM, the misfire went away. Most recently (today) the car stalled in the middle of an intersection while making a left turn; my [XXX] son was in the car with me. Since it was a stop light, the car was able to be restarted in time, but had it been a stop sign/non-stop oncoming traffic, the situation could have been much worse. I nearly died this time. The crankshaft sensor was replaced like advised and the engine stalled turning left in an intersection. Official Complaint #2. Thankfully no one was behind me. See previous complaint for more details.

For the last 3-4 months my Jeep has been going into limp mode while in motion, sometimes at high speeds. There seems to be no pattern anymore and I’ve replaced the parts mechanics have suggested.
On 5 occasions at various speeds and types of roads, my vehicle suddenly goes into limp mode, the engine shuts off and power steering goes out. I have very limited time and control to move off the road before the car behind me slams into me. The majority of the instances this has happened, the orange anti-skid light comes on though road conditions were fine. I found a recall of 2016 Jeep Patriots (s89/NHTSA 16-v-907 Crankshaft/Camshaft Sensor Wire Harness) and many complaints I've found experiencing the same thing I experienced were included in this recall. Mechanic ran my Jeep's code and it showed a number of things were triggered but he couldn't pinpoint what exactly could be the cause based on the code errors. I have a young child in a car seat in the back of my car and feel extremely unsafe taking her anywhere, let alone when it's just me in the car. Please consider adding the 2015 Patriot to this recall.
Jeep entered limp mode right as I was pulling out on to the street. Brought the car into a mechanic to have it diagnosed, turns out to be the ETC. Call a dealership to get a estimate on cost, they told me that a significant portion the jeep patriots from that year are currently experiencing this, to the point where the part is on back order nation wide. Estimated repair cost $1400. 40,000 miles.
Engine stalls upon acceleration from a dead stop major safety concern. Mechanic says it’s crankshaft sensor which the 2016 Jeep Patriot recall was for the same issue.
I have purchased a 2015 Jeep Patriot from Sunrise car dealer it has been 3 months now I took it back to the dealer they couldn't find anything wrong with it the car cut off in the middle of traffic in the middle of the expressway with a big 18-wheeler behind me scared me to death. I can see why they sold it to me without any warranty. I took it to a car repairment person ran a test on it couldn't find anything wrong with it. No codes were found, we took the car for a ride in the air and the radio didn't cut him off but as soon as I got back in it down the road it cut off again several times before I made it home. Please tell me if I can take the car back and trade it in for another car. Help
While driving the car RPM dropped to zero, I pressed the gas pedal, and RPMs went back to normal engine continued to work. The crank shaft sensor was replaced, it drove for another month (approximately) before it began with the same issue. This time I was driving on the highway (twice). The third time I was on a busy street when it happened with complete loss of power and the stability control light came on. This is so dangerous and could possibly cause an accident. After looking into this issue, I have found that this is not a common occurrence and there is even a recall for this exact reason for the 2016 Jeep Patriots. The vehicle was taken to the local Jeep dealership, and they stated there was no way of knowing what the issue is without the check engine light coming on. I find this hard to believe knowing that there are many instances of this happening and a recall on a newer model for the same thing. They replaced the Crank Shaft Sensor (which had already been replaced) and two cam shaft sensors, replaced the catalytic converter that was recalled and the passenger side seat which had deployed. We were charged nearly $800. This is outrageous considering this is a dangerous issue that has been recalled on the 2016 models. Jan 31, 2023, NHTSA reached out to Ms. Eanes for additional information involving issues of the Crankshaft in the 2015 Jeep Patriot.
Two issues- First one the vehicle engine tends to randomly sputter like there is a dead cylinder. Which I have found by adding electric jell to the spark plug connector will make the problem go away for a short time. Second one now in the rear transfer case is marking a grinding noise and is getting louder.
The vehicles rpms drop to zero and then almost stalls out but picks up again and sometimes dies completely and you have to wait to restart the vehicle. No codes are available when it stalls out. It happens almost every day and sometimes multiple times a day

I WAS SITTING STATIONARY LEAVING OUT OF A PARKING LOT WAITING TO TURN RIGHT ONTO A MAIN ROAD FROM A BUSINESS. AS TRAFFIC CLEARED AND I BEGAN TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC NUMEROUS MALFUNCTION LIGHTS SHOWED ON THE DASH, SOME SOLID AND ONE FLASHING, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I LOST ALL THROTTLE CONTROL AND THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY IDLE OR VERY SLIGHTLY ACCELERATE TO 1-2 MPH. THIS CAUSED OTHER CARS ON THE ROAD TO BRAKE AGGRESSIVELY OR CHANGE LANES TO AVOID HITTING ME. I WAS ABLE TO IDLE TO THE NEXT ENTRANCE AND PULL THE CAR OVER AND PARK IT. WAS NECESSARY TO RECOVER THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR FACILITY AND WAS DIAGNOSED AS AN INTERNALLY FAILED THROTTLE MOTOR CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO "LIMP MODE". THE LOCAL JEEP DEALER HAD THE NEW THROTTLE MOTOR IN STOCK INDICATING TO ME THIS IS A KNOWN AND COMMON PARTS FAILURE. THIS SITUATION WAS VERY DANGEROUS AND COULD HAVE ENDED UP MUCH WORSE.

DRIVING ALONG AT SPEEDS OF 35 MPH, THE ENGINE RANDOMLY SHUT OFF, LOCKED THE STEERING WHEEL, AND CAME TO A STOP. THIS OCCURRED ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET. THE NEXT DAY, THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED ON A STATE ROUTE 28. A MANUAL RESTART OF THE VEHICLE WAS REQUIRED EACH TIME, AND THE ISSUE OCCURS DAILY. THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY WAS REPAIRED IN NOVEMBER OF 2019. IT IS JULY OF 2020, I HAVE DRIVEN THE VEHICLE LESS THAN 2500 MILES SINCE THE INITIAL REPAIR AND THE VEHICLE IS PRODUCING THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS AS IT WAS BEFORE THE REPAIR. IT HESITATES, ALMOST STALLS, AND LUNGES WHILE DRIVING. TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE DRIVE BY WIRE WARNING LIGHT ALL FLASH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STARTED AND RUNNING.

I WAS LITERALLY SCARED FOR MY LIFE AND MY CHILD, AS THE SPEED OF MY CAR SLOWED DOWN SO FAST, THAT I ALMOST GOT REARENDED. WHEN MY CAR SLOWED DOWN AND COULD NO LONGER ACCERALATE, MY CHECK ENGINE, ELECTRIC THROTTLE CONTROL, AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS ALL CAME ON. IT WAS VERY ODD AS THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE. I READ AND SEEN THAT THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. THIS IS VERY CONCERNING. I'M SURPRISED THAT NO ONE HAS BEEN KILLED DUE TO THIS, I COULD NOT IMAGINE IF I WAS THE HIGHWAY BEHIND A BIG RIG AND MY SPEED QUICKLY DROPPED LIKE THAT OR IF SOMEONE WAS RIDING MY TAIL, THERE IS NO WAY THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SLOW DOWN QUICK ENOUGH TO PREVENT FROM HITTING ME. I SEEN THAT PEOPLE WITH JEEPS HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS ISSUE, REGARDLESS OF THE YEAR OF THE PATRIOT. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS PART.

THEN, TWO DAYS LATER WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 60 MPH ON THE FREEWAY, THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE I WAS ACCELERATING. FOR THE NEXT 20 SECONDS IT OSCILLATED BETWEEN ACCELERATING AND COASTING WHILE I HELD MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL. AS I COASTED TOWARDS AN UPCOMING OFF-RAMP, I LOST POWER STEERING. ONCE I WAS OFF THE FREEWAY, I HAD TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM DEALERSHIP. THEY RAN THEIR "DIAGNOSTIC TESTS" AND FOUND NOTHING. THEY TEST DROVE THE CAR FOR 10 MILES AND WERE UNABLE TO RECREATE THE ISSUES. THEY UPDATED THE PCM AND TCM AND RAN THEIR COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC TESTS AGAIN. NOTHING WAS FOUND. I FEEL INCREDIBLY UNSAFE DRIVING MY JEEP PATRIOT NOW. I ESCALATED THE ISSUE TO CHRYSLER CUSTOMER CARE WHO WAS UNABLE TO DO ANYTHING TO HELP ME UNTIL THE PROBLEMS ARE RECREATED AND DOCUMENTED BY A DEALERSHIP. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH JEEPS. 2016 JEEP PATRIOTS WERE RECALLED FOR THIS VERY REASON. WHY IS NOTHING BEING DONE ABOUT THIS?

WITH ACCELERATION THE CAR WILL SPUTTER AND NOT GET PAST 15 MILES PER HOUR. DURING SPUTTERING NO POWER STEERING IS AVALIBLE AND BRAKING IS MADE DIFFICULT WITH SPUTTERING.

I NOTICED THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2016 JEEP PATRIOTS FOR THE SAME CRANKSHAFT PROBLEM BUT NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRING IN 2015 JEEP PATRIOTS. THE ENGINE DIED WITHOUT WARNING AND IT IS FORTUNATE THAT THIS HAPPENED AT ~20MPH, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.

THIS CONTINUED TO HAPPEN ABOUT 4 TIMES UNTIL I MADE IT HOME AND PARK IT. THIS CAR HAS BEEN A HEADACHE EVER SINCE I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. ONE MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT IT, THE GAS TANK SUNK AND PRETTY MUCH FELL INTO THE CAR SO DEEP THAT I COULD NO LONGER GET THE PUMP TO THE TANK TO FILL GAS. ABOUT A WEEK AFTER THAT, THE WHEELS STARTED SQUEALING, AND THIS WAS UNABLE TO BE FIXED. THE BOLTS THAT ARE USED UNDER THE HOOD DO NOT FIT THE CAR SO THINGS WOULD CONSTANTLY LOOSEN AS I DROVE IT AND EVENTUALLY ARE REPOSITIONED EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE REPLACED BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS AT THE JEEP DEALERSHIPS. THERE'S SUBSTANCE MUCH LIKE ADHESIVE GLUE THROUGHOUT THE CAR ON CERTAIN PARTS WHICH DOESN'T MAKE SENSE IF THIS CAR WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW. ALL AROUND POORLY MADE CAR, YOU WILL END UP PAYING THE DOUBLE THE AMOUNT VALUED BASED ON THE REPAIRS. HORRIBLE. HOLD THIS MAKER ACCOUNTABLE, THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS MAKE AND MODEL FOR THE YEAR 2016 (SAFETY RECALL S89 / NHTSA 16V-907 CRANKSHAFT CAMSHAFT SENSOR WIRE HARNESS). THIS IS THE EXACT ISSUE THAT IS WRONG WITH OUR VEHICLE, BUT IT IS A 2015 MODEL YEAR. THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE ON OUR FIRST REPAIR VISIT AND SO WE WERE PUT AT SAFETY RISK AGAIN WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED UNTIL BRINGING IT IN A SECOND TIME. THEY SAID THE CONNECTION WIRE WAS BAD TO THE NEW ABS MODULE THEY REPLACED SO THEY REPLACED THE CONNECTOR. I DROVE IT A WEEK, THE RPMS DROPPED OUT AND ENGINE STALLED WHILE GOING 70MPH. SAME THING HAPPEN A WEEK LATER WHILE ACCLERATING ON AN ON RAMP. NOW ITS 3 DAYS AFTER THE LAST TIME IT DIED AND IT HAS STALLED ON ME 3 TIMES IN ONE DAY, AND I HAVE TO WAIT 2-3 MINS WITH THE ENGINE SHUT OFF THEN I AM ABLE TO RESTART IT. THIS CAR IS NOT RELIABLE, I HAVE NO WARNING OF WHEN IT WILL SHUT OFF OR IF I WILL BE STRANDED AND HAVE TO HAVE IT TOWED. ITS SCARY GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70MPH AND THE ENGINE DIES!!!
I AM SEEING MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VEHICLE. MY 2015 JEEP PATRIOT USED TO KICK BACK WHILE I WAS ACCELERATING WHICH DEVELOPED INTO A STALL AFTER A COUPLE OF MONTHS. I TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND THEY GAVE ME NEW SPARK PLUGS AND CLEANED MY AIR INTAKE VALVES IN HOPES THAT IT WOULD FIX THE ISSUE. THE CAR GIVES NO WARNING OR CODE TO DESCRIBE WHAT IS HAPPENING. FOR ABOUT A WEEK THERE WERE NO ISSUES AND THEN IT STALLED ON ME TWICE TODAY AND POWER STEERING GOES OUT. I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND ACCELERATED ONCE IT TURNED GREEN BUT IT STALLED BEFORE I COULD MAKE IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. I COULD BARELY STEER OUT OF THE WAY OF OTHER VEHICLES, HAVE TO PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND SHUT IT OFF. THEN I HAVE TO SIT THERE FOR A COUPLE MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING THE CAR. IT WAS TAKEN TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP IN WOODBRIDGE VA., FOR A SENSOR CHIP REPLACEMENT ON 11/10/18. THAT EVENING, AFTER TAKING IT HOME, IT WOULDN'T START. IT WILL BE TOWED BACK TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP ON 11/12/18. THERE SEEMS TO BE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VEHICLE SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY CONCERN, ESPECIALLY ON THE FREEWAY OR WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR. WHEN STOPPING THE VEHICLE IDLES HIGH AND STILL MOVES EVEN THOUGH THE BRAKE IS FULLY PRESSED, AND THE TEMPERATURE RISES FAST. I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT ON A CITY STREET SO LUCKILY THE WASN'T MUCH TRAFFIC. THE LIGHTS CAME ON BEFORE I LOST ENGINE POWER AND I SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND THEY WENT AWAY BUT THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN THE SECOND TIME IT OCCURRED, THE LIGHTS STAYED ON AND THAT'S WHEN I ALSO LOST ENGINE POWER AND THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS I'VE ALMOST BEEN IN A COUPLE ACCIDENTS FROM WHEN IT DECIDES IT'S TIME TO ACCELERATE, RANDOM ENGINE SHUT OFF AND INABILITY TO ACCELERATE WHEN IT MATTERS. TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP, THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY AGAIN (AND WANTED TO DO SO AT MY EXPENSE). WHILE ATTEMPTING TO RETURN MY CAR, IT SHUT OFF ON THEM. THEY RETURNED IT TO ME SAYING IT HAD BEEN FIXED. NEXT DAY PROBLEM PERSISTED AND BECAME MORE FREQUENT. TOOK BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY REPLACED SENSOR CAM AND SENSOR CRA TO MY EXPENSE. THE FOLLOWING DAY IT DID THE SAME THING, BROUGHT BACK TO DEALER NO LIGHTS ON DASH OR CODES SHOWING UP. IT HAPPENED ANYTIME OF DAT NO MATTER WHERE I'M AT. IT ALMOST LOSES POWER GOING UP HILLS BUT DOESN'T STALL COMPLETELY UNTIL ABOUT A MILE DOWN ROAD. THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIND THE ISSUE. THEY TOLD ME TO DRIVE IT UNTIL IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE WHEN IT SHUTS OFF I LOOSE POWER STEERING. I HAVE CHILDREN I TRANSPORT EVERYDAY. I WISH THEY CAN FIND THE ISSUE I SEE IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE.

WHILE IN MOTION ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY THE CAR HAS UNEXPECTEDLY LOST POWER. THIS HAS NOT BEEN A ONE TIME ISSUE. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE TURNING, WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, DRIVING UP A HILL, AND ALL OTHER INSTANCES WHERE YOUR CAR IS IN MOTION. I AM TERRIFIED TO BE IN THE CAR, BUT THIS OUR ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION. THE DEALERSHIP THAT SERVICES US HAS TOLD US THAT MANY OTHER 2015 JEEP PATRIOTS ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE AND CHRYSLER REFUSES TO FIX THE PROBLEM. HE SAID THAT IT COULD BE THE THROTTLE BODY OR POSSIBLY SOMETHING ELSE- THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST SHOWED ELUSIVE RESULTS. THE MAN WHO LOOKED AT THE JEEP SAID THAT HE CONTACTED CHRYSLER HOPING THAT THEY WOULD "GOODWILL" THE NEEDED REPAIRS, AS WE JUST PASSED THE WARRANTY BY 1000 MILES. CHRYSLER REFUSED DESPITE THIS MAN'S PERSISTENCY TO ASSIST US. BUT OUR JEEP NIGHTMARE DOES NOT END THERE. BEFORE 15,000 MILES, A BRAND NEW TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE PUT IN. NOW AT 37,000 MILES THE CAR IS PRESENTING TRANSMISSION ISSUES AND THROTTLE BODY ISSUES. WE WERE ADVISED NOT TO DRIVE THE CAR AS IT HAS PROVEN ITSELF TO BE UNSAFE, AND AS I MENTIONED PREVIOUSLY THIS IS OUR ONLY WAY OF TRANSPORTATION. SO NOW WE ARE STARING AT OUR PARKED CAR THAT SOMETIMES DOES NOT EVEN START, WHILE MAKING PAYMENTS ON SAID VEHICLE, WHICH HAS BEEN DEEMED TOO UNSAFE TO DRIVE, PAYING ADDITIONAL MONEY TO BE DRIVEN AROUND TO WORK AND SCHOOL, AND DEALING WITH SUBSTANDARD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE ENGINE ON MY 2015 JEEP PATRIOT DIES WHILE I'M DRIVING. THIS HAS HAPPENED FREQUENTLY. IT TYPICALLY WILL HAPPEN ONCE THE CAR IS WARMED UP. IT WILL HAPPEN MOST OFTEN WHEN I BEGIN TO ACCELERATE TO MERGE ONTO A HIGHWAY TO GET TO TRAFFIC SPEEDS. IN THIS CASE, THE ENGINE WILL QUIT AND THE CAR WILL IMMEDIATELY SLOW. IF THERE IS A CAR BEHIND ME, THERE IS NO INDICATION TO THAT CAR THAT I AM IMMEDIATELY SLOWING. VERY DANGEROUS! THIS ALSO HAPPENS WHILE I'M TRAVELLING AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND THE ENGINE JUST QUITS AND THEN RESTARTS ON ITS OWN. I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED THIS WHEN I SLOW TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT. THE ENGINE WILL SIMPLY DIE AND MUST BE RE-STARTED.

NEITHER MY DEALERSHIP NOR JEEP THEMSELVES HAVE A REASONABLE EXPLANATION FOR THIS PROBLEM. IT IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A BRAND NEW CAR. IN ADDITION, MY CAR HAS ALSO HAD PROBLEMS STARTING. WITHIN THE LAST TWO WEEKS, I HAVE HAD TWO INSTANCES OF TRYING TO TURN MY CAR ON AND THE BATTERY CAME ON, BUT THE CAR DID NOT MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TO TURN-OVER. IT TOOK MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO ACTUALLY GET IT STARTED. BEFORE NOW, MY CAR HAS HAD A FEW INSTANCES WHERE IT TAKES A WHILE FOR IT TO TURN OVER, WHICH IT EVENTUALLY DID COME ON, BUT IT WAS STRUGGLING AND I COULD TELL IT WAS VERY WEAK.
SECOND TIME VEHICLE SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. FIRST TIME 5/8/17. DEALER REPROGRAMMED PCM,TCM,CCN,AND WCM. 77 MILES LATER SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. BOTH TIMES THREE YEAR OLD IN VEHICLE. NO PRIOR WARNING. NO WARNING LIGHTS,NOISE ECT. VERY UNSAFE CONDITION. BACK TO DEALER TOMORROW. LUCKY GOING AT SLOW SPEED ON SECONDARY ROADS AT BOTH TIMES.

THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR NEARLY 10 SEPERATE TIMES. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE & SHUT OFF ON ME WHILE MOVING. THERE ARE MANY REPORTS OF " ENGINE FAILURE " FOR THE 2015 JEEP PATRIOT. MY VEHICLE IS ONE OF MANY THAT IS UNSAFE, AND SHUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. FCA LLC, SHOULD HAVE ALL 2015 PATRIOT JEEPS RECALLED. THEY ARE BUILDING DANGEROUS & POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING VEHICLES. FCA MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR A RECALL. I WALKED DOWN THE ROAD TO SAFETY, AS MY HUSBAND GOT OUT WHAT HE COULD OF OUR BELONGINGS OUT AND INTO THE SNOW BANK. AND IN THAT FEW MINUTES THE FLAMES WERE INSIDE THE CAB AND WINDOWS WERE EXPLODING, NEXT THE TIRES AND THE PAINT ETC.....THE SPARE TIRE ALSO BLEW FROM THE BACK OF THE CAR. MY HUSBAND LEFT BEFORE THE GAS TANK BLEW IF IT DID WE DON'T KNOW. WE HAD TO WALK 15 MILES SOAKING WET . WE ARE BOTH DISABLED WITH NECK AND BACK INJURIES. THIS JEEP IS OUR ONLY VEHICLE. I WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST AN INVESTIGATION. WHAT WORRIES US IS THAT HAD SOMEONE BEEN CONFINED BY WHEEL CHAIR OR CHILDREN IN A CAR SEAT THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A DEADLY ACCIDENT.
