The Evaporative Emissions System (EVAP system), including components such as the charcoal canister, purge valve, and/or fuel tank venting system, appears to be malfunctioning. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. After refueling the vehicle completely, it will stall or shut off unexpectedly while driving, which could cause a collision, particularly in traffic or at highway speeds. This sudden loss of power places myself, my passengers, and other drivers at significant risk. The vehicle has been inspected by an independent mechanic, but not by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. No warning lights, error messages, or advance symptoms were present prior to the vehicle stalling. The issue first occurred around 2022.

The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that after having an oil change, the engine started to misfire. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the vehicle decelerated to 15 MPH and failed to accelerate as needed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that a multi-air actuator replacement was needed. The part was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that DTC: P0304, P106B, and P1064 were retrieved and were related to the failure. The manufacturer was contacted, but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.

MY VEHICLE'S PASSENGER TIRE WAS IMPROPERLY MOUNTED BY THE MANUFACTURER. IT HAS LED TO THE ENGINE MOUNTS BECOMING WORN, CAUSING THE CAMSHAFT TO BE WORN AT ONLY 71,213 MILES, AND THE DRIVE SHAFT BECOMING BROKEN. THIS HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED BY A REPAIR SHOP AND A JEEP DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER SAYS THAT THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THAT THEY HAVE SEEN THIS ISSUE AND ATTRIBUTE IT TO THE TIRE BEING IMPROPERLY MOUNTED BY THE FACTORY. THIS IS ALSO A KNOWN ISSUE DOCUMENTED IN VIDEOS AND ONLINE FORUMS. THIS IS A MATTER OF SAFETY AND COULD CAUSE CATASTROPHIC FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED BUT HAVE NOT YET ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THIS WARRANTS A RECALL, WHICH IT SHOULD.

WHILE DRIVING IN THE MOUNTAINS, A TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT FOLLOWED BY A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED ON THE DASH. I FIGURED IT WAS A MAINTENANCE WARNING. THE FURTHER I DROVE, IT BECAME APPARENT THAT I WAS LOSING THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. IN THE MOUNTAIN RANGE THERE IS NO CELL SERVICE AND IT WAS DARK AS WELL AS FEARFUL DRIVERS WOULD COME UP BEHIND ME ON A CURVE WITHOUT MY ABILITY TO GO HWY SPEEDS, LEAVING ME TO FEEL VERY UNSAFE. THE FURTHER I DROVE, THE LESS ABILITY I HAD TO ACCELERATE. BY THE TIME I REACHED THE FREEWAY, MY ABILITY TO ACCELERATE WAS VERY COMPROMISED. WHEN I REACHED THE FREEWAY, IT WAS CONGESTED, PLAYING IN MY FAVOR SINCE I COULD NOT ACCELERATE WELL. WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP, THE ENGINE WAS GETTING UP TO 2000+ RPMS TO GO 15 MPH. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD THAT IF IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION, IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY THE JEEP EXTENDED, BUT SINCE THIS INVOLVES 'THE BRAIN OF THE TRANSMISSION' IT IS NOT A COVERED REPAIR.

I SENT 1 SERVICE RECORD. I HAVE 3 MORE IF NEEDED. JEEP STILL IS UNSAFE I WAS ON A BUSY STREET AT 5PM AT A STOP LIGHT. WHEN I PUT FOOT ON GAS THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE THEN IT STARTED OUT INCHING AWAY AND FINALLY GOT MOVING.IT TOOK AT LEAST 8 OR 10 SECONDS TO GET PASSED THE GREEN LIGHT AND THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS WAY TO CLOSE AND COULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE HAD IT LOOKED AT 4 OR 5 TIMES AND ALL THATS BEEN DONE IS UPDATES AND REPLACED A VALVE BODY PART. I HAVE AN ATTORNEY AND FILED SUIT AGAINST CHRYSLER. THIS JEEP IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND THEY DONT CARE. THEY ARE GOING TO WAIT TIL SOMEONE DIES THEN THEY WILL GET ON THIS ISSUE. I DONT KNOW WHY MY JEEP WAS NOT IN THE LAST RECALL FOR TRANSMISSION BUT IT SHOULD BE, AND THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO RESELL THIS JEEP OR THE 2015 RENEGADES PERIOD. THEY ARE NOT SAFE.THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS TRANSMISSION AND STILL NO RECALL. ITS BEEN 4 YRS WITH THIS JEEP RUNNING LIKE ITS 30 YRS OLD AND I AM PAYING 41000 FOR IT. DO MISSOURI A FAVOR,GET THESE 9SPEED TRANSMISSIONS OFF THE ROAD, THEY ARE CAUSING MAJOR STRESS AND HARDSHIPS TO THE OWNERS. THE SPEED IN THIS JEEP IS UNPREDICTABLE. I WAS ON A CITY STREET DRIVING AT 35 MPH AND AS SOON AS I WAS GOING DOWN A BIG HILL THE CAR SPED UP WAY MORE THAN THE USUAL DOWN HILL SPEED. THEY ALL GO A LITTLE FASTER BUT THIS WAS LIKE IT WAS TRYING TO GO ABOVE 55 AND WAS PRAYING IT WOULD STOP AND IT DID. BUT WHEN WILL THE DAY COME THAT IT WONT ... I GOT OUT OF THE JEEP TO SEE IF SOMETHING FELL OFF. TRANSMISSION SOUNDS AND FEELS LIKE ITS SLIPPING. NOT EVERY TIME BUT IT HAPPENS SO OFTEN IT HAS MADE ME FEEL UNSAFE AND I DO NOT GO OUT OF TOWN OR LONG TRIPS OVER 45 MILES AWAY FROM HOME. . EVERY TIME I TAKE IT TO THE SHOP AND ASK WHATS GOING ON THEY SAY ITS HOW THE JEEP RENEGADE WAS MADE, ITS NORMAL FOR IT TO DO ALL THIS.

WHILE DRIVING THE CAR SPEED WILL SHIFT KIND OF LIKE FROM NEUTRAL TO FIRST AND SO FOR. WHILE DRIVING ON THE STREET AND STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN I TRY TO ACCELERATE THE CAR WILL BUT IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE ON TIME AND ALMOST PRODUCES A CRASH. WHILE ON THE TURNPIKE I TRY TO ACCELERATE BUT IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE PROMPTLY, IT FEELS AS IF IT GETS STUCK AND THEN IT GIVES A BIG KICK. WHILE AT ANOTHER STOP SIGN ON OTHER DAYS, THE CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE AND GIVES A KICK AND PROCEEDS TO MOVE IN A SLOW MOTION THEN GIVE ANOTHER KICK AND CONTINUE TO MOVE. IT FEELS AS IF THE SHIFT SHIFTS ON THEIR OWN AND ACCELERATION DOES NOT RESPOND ON TIME. ANOTHER DAY I WAS DRIVING WITH MY CHILD IN THE BACK SEAT AND I WAS AT A STOP SIGN. IT WAS MY TURN TO GO AND AS I SLOWLY ACCELERATED THE VEHICLE WILL GIVE A KICK AND PROCEED TO MOVE SLOWLY. ON ANOTHER INSTANCE, I STOPED AT A RED LIGHT AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURN GREEN I PROCEEDED TO MOVE, THE CAR GAVE ANOTHER SLOW KICK AND EVENTUALLY DECIDED TO ACCELERATE AGAIN IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW INTENSE I PRESS ON THE ACCELERATOR IT STILL TAKES A WHILE FOR IT TO RESPOND AND AVCTUALLY STARTS ACCELERATING. IT'S BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEMS AND AM GENUINELY SCARED TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR I FEEL ONE DAY IT MIGHT NOT ACCELERATE ON TIME ON A TRAFFIC LIGHT OR STOP SIGN OR ON THE ROAD. WHILE AM PARKED ND CHANGE THE SHIFT FROM PARKING TO DRIVE, THE CAR AGAIN GIVES A QUICK AND THEN DECIDES TO MOVE. IT'S A SCARY EXPERIENCE TO FEEL THAT THE CAR I DRIVE AND AM.PAYING FOR WILL NOT ACCELERATE ON TIME WHILE ON THE ROAD, AT A GREEN LIGHT, ON TURNPIKE WHILE STUCK IN TRAFFIC OR WHILE TRYING TO GET OUT OF MY PARKING LOT.

WHEN ON HIGHWAY HAS ALOT OF DRAGGED HAS HARD TIME KEEPING SPEED AND WHEN PASSING IT TAKE THE VEHICLE FEW SECONDS TO SPEED UP, HAVE TO PUSH PEDDLE TO THE FLOOR AND AFTER FEW SECONDS IT FINALLY SPEEDS UP. IN CRUISE CONTROL ITS CONSTANTLY HAVING A HARD TIME KEEPING ITS SPEED CONSTANTLY JUMPING INTO HIGHER GEARS TO CATCH UP TO THE SET CRUISE SETTING. EVERY TIME I TAKE IT TO THE SHOP AND ASK WHATS GOING ON THEY SAY ITS HOW THE JEEP RENEGADE WAS MADE, ITS NORMAL FOR IT TO DO ALL THIS.

THE TRANSMISSION IS CAUSING SAFETY ISSUES. WHEN ACCELERATING AFTER A VERY SLOW CRAWL OR STOP, THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF. NO WARNING LIGHTS, NO SOUNDS OR ANY INDICATION THAT ITS ABOUT TO SHUT OFF. THIS HAPPENS SPORADICALLY. ALSO, WHEN ACCELERATING AFTER A VERY SLOW CRAWL OR STOP, THE VEHICLE LAGS AND JOLTS FORWARD. FEELS LIKE SOMEONE HAS HIT YOU FROM BEHIND. NO WARNING LIGHTS, NO SOUNDS OR ANY INDICATION THIS IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. THIS ALSO HAPPENS SPORADICALLY. THERE WERE A FEW NEAR-ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE VEHICLE SHUTTING OFF OR LUNGING IN INTERSECTIONS. IT HAS HAPPENED ON CITY STREETS AND FREEWAYS.IT WAS TAKEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO SURVEY. IT DIED IN THEIR PARKING LOT TWICE. THEY CLAIMED IT WAS THE OIL, THE BATTERY, ELECTRONICS, OR THAT IT WAS DRIVEN AWKWARDLY, ETC. THEY HAVE HELD THE VEHICLE FOR OVER 30DAYS, DID SOFTWARE FIXES, CHANGED THE OIL, CHANGED THE BATTERY. I ALSO WENT THROUGH THE CHRYSLER DISPUTE RESOLUTION. WHICH WAS UNFAVORABLE TO MYSELF DUE TO DEALERSHIP CLAIMING NOTHING WAS WRONG. DEALERSHIP DID NOT NOTATE TRUE EXPERIENCES WITH THE VEHICLE TO CHRYSLER. VEHICLE STILL STALLED AND LUNGED THEREAFTER. I REFUSED TO DRIVE IT DUE TO SAFETY REASONS AND HAD DEALERSHIP BUY IT BACK AT BLUEBOOK VALUE SO THAT I COULD PURCHASE A SAFE RELIABLE VEHICLE. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT REGARDING THE TRANSMISSION. I DID NOT CLAIM INTO THE CLASS ACTION SUIT BECAUSE AT THE TIME, I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF THE DISPUTE RESOLUTION.

WHILE DRIVING, PERIODICALLY GETS STUCK IN A GEAR. (?). AT LEAST TWICE, THE CAR HAS REFUSED TO TURN OVER UPON IGNITION ENGAGEMENT. SINCE I HAVE OBTAINED THE JEEP, ANYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH THE STEREO GIVES ME INTERMITTENT SIGNALS/SOUND, INCLUSIVE OF THE USB CONNECTIONS ETC. (NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE). THE DRIVER'S SEATBELT FOR SOME REASON OCCASIONALLY WILL NOT LATCH. SOMETHING IN THE UNDERCARRIAGE SOUNDS AS IF IT IS GOING TO FALL OF OR BREAK AT ANY TIME ESPECIALLY WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS OR RUFF TERRAIN.

WHEN TURNING OR VEERING AT SEMI-LOW RATES OF SPEED (15-35 MPH), TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT FLASHES REPEATEDLY AND ALL POWER TO ACCELERATOR IS LOST FOR ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS. THIS HAS REPEATEDLY PUT ME IN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. DESPITE TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND FINDING MANY OTHERS HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE, DEALER CLAIMS NOTHING IS WRONG AND SAID PROBLEM WAS FIXED AFTER A REFRESH UPDATE FOR BOTH COMPUTER SYSTEMS. IT IS DEFINITELY NOT FIXED AS IT HAPPENED TODAY AND I WAS ALMOST T-BONED IN AN INTERSECTION. ONLY HAS 23,120 MILES ON IT AND STILL UNDER JEEP WARRANTY. THIS BEGAN A MONTH AFTER PURCHASE.

READ MAY COMPLAINTS AND THIS IS A DANGEROUS VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME WHILE DRIVING @ 50 MPH THE SECOND TIME I WAS STATIONARY STARTING UP AT FIRST THEN BUCKING N NOISE STARRED AT @ 30 MPH.

RENEGADE WHEN IN MOTION GOING 40MPH AND ENCOUNTERS A HILL/INCREASE IN GRADE, WILL NOT SHIFT INTO NEXT GEAR. THE VEHICLE IS STUCK IN THE LOWER GEAR @ 40MPH AS THE ENGINE REV'S OVER 3,000RPM BUT THE VEHICLE WON'T ACCELERATE AND WON'T KICK-IN THE HIGHER GEAR. HAVE TO NEARLY PRESS THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR TO FORCE THE VEHICLE TO RAMP THE RPM'S TO 4-5,000 TO GET IT TO SHIFT INTO THE CORRECT GEAR. FEELS LIKE I'M GOING TO BLOW THE ENGINE WHEN I HAVE TO DO THIS BUT IT WON'T SHIFT INTO GEAR. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING CONSISTENTLY FOR OVER A MONTH. CALLED DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID THERE ARE SEVERAL SOFTWARE UPDATES FOR THE RENEGADE, SO TRY THAT AND SEE IF IT FIXES THE ISSUE. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP TODAY FOR 7 SOFTWARE UPDATES.

TODAY,WHILE PULLING OUT ONTO THE HIGHWAY MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY ALMOST CAUSING A VERY SEVERE ACCIDENT WITH MY 8 WEEK OLD BABY IN THE CAR. WE CONTINUED TO TRY AND DRIVE SO WE WOULDN'T BE STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY BUT THE JEEP WENT 35 TO 40 MILES AN HOUR ALL THE WAY HOME. THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST INCIDENT WITH THIS CAR BUT THE FIRST AS SEVERE AS THIS. A FEW DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR IT WOULD SHIFT HARD WHEN PUT INTO REVERSE, IT FELT AS IF SOMEONE HIT ME FROM BEHIND. THIS IS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE, MY ONLY VEHICLE, AND I AM SCARED TO TAKE MY BABY ANYWHERE. THIS WAS A VERY SCARY INCIDENT ESPECIALLY WITH A NEWBORN. JEEP NOT ONLY PUT MY LIFE AT JEOPARDY BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY A BABY'S LIFE!

I PURCHASED MY 2015 RENEGADE LATITUDE 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLE LAST FALL AND FOUND THAT FROM THE BEGINNING AT TIMES I HAD DIFFICULTY GETTING IT INTO GEAR. I'VE BEEN DRIVING MANUAL TRANSMISSION CARS (ALL SEDANS UNTIL THIS) FOR NEARLY 35 + YEARS SO I'M FAMILIAR WITH HOW TO SHIFT ETC. I KNEW AND EXPECTED THAT THERE'D BE A LEARNING CURVE AS EVERY VEHICLE IS DIFFERENT. BUT BY NOW IT SHOULD BE RESOLVED. INSTEAD, IT HAS WORSENED. I HAVE MANEUVERED AROUND THE MINOR PROBLEMS -THOSE AT LOWER SPEEDS-HAVING TO DOWNSHIFT A FEW TIMES WHEN I NEEDED TO UPSHIFT (I RELY ON SOUND AND THE RPMS AS MY GUIDE). THE CAR NOW HAS 6200 MILES ON IT (A MIX OF BACK ROAD DRIVING WITH SUBURBAN STREETS AND SOME HIGHWAY) AND IT IS NOW REVVING UNCONTROLLABLY AT TIMES, THROWING ME OUT OF CRUISE CONTROL, ACTING AS IF ON ICE WHEN THERE IS NONE, SURGING FORWARD WHEN I HAVEN'T ACCELERATED. AND THE ADVERTISED 31/27 MPG HAS NOT HAPPENED. I AM NOW DOWN TO 23 MPG. I WILL BE DROPPING IT OFF TOMORROW FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND FOR THEM TO LOOK AT THIS REVVING PROBLEM AND THE LOW MPG. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR, WHICH I LOVE VERY MUCH, ASIDE FROM THE PROBLEMS BTW. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE I SEE THAT THERE HAVE BEEN COMPLAINTS LISTED ON SITES ABOUT JUST THIS THING AND IT IS A REMINDER OF THE OUT OF CONTROL ACCELERATION PROBLEMS OF CARS IN YEARS PAST (LIKE WITH AUDI). PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT TO DO BESIDES TAKING IT INTO THE SHOP. I SEE BELOW THAT YOU ASK WHEN THIS HAPPENED: AS I SAID, FROM THE BEGINNING-I NOTICED THAT WHEN I BACKED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND PUT IT INTO FIRST AND THEN SHIFTED INTO 2ND, I'D HAVE TO GO BACK TO FIRST. THEN, IT WOULD SURGE AHEAD AS IF IT WERE IN THIRD OR FOURTH. THAT HAS CONTINUED.. THE SCARY ISSUE IS THE REVVING IN TRAFFIC LAST WEEK. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN IT SINCE THEN.

THE 2015 JEEP RENEGADE HAS HAD ABOUT 800 MILES WHEN THE PROBLEM APPEARED. I WAS DRIVING ON A FREEWAY AT 70 MPH. ALL THE SUDDEN, THE CAR STARTED JERKING AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE EVEN WHEN I PUSH THE PEDAL AS I INTENDED. SO I GOT OFF THE FREEWAY AND STARTED DRIVING LOCAL AT LOWER SPEED, AND THE CAR WAS ACTING EVEN MORE WEIRD. THE CAR WAS JERKING AND CAME TO STOP. THE ENGINE WAS ON BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT GO. LUCKILY, IT WAS AT NIGHT TIME AND IN RESIDENTIAL AREA, THERE WERE ONLY FEW CARS AROUND SO THEY COULD DRIVE AROUND. I CHANGED THE AUTOMATIC MODE, 'D', TO THE SEMI-MANUAL MODE. THE FREQUENCY OF THE JERKING REDUCED BUT THE CAR CAME TO A STOP AGAIN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 6 MILES TO DROP THE CAR AT A REPAIR SHOP AT A MFG AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS PROPERTY DAMAGE AND BODILY HARM. I WAS LUCKY THAT THERE WERE MANY CARS AROUND AT THE TIME AND THE CAR DID NOT STALL ON THE FREEWAY. I AM NOT AN EXPERT, BUT THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO BE RELATED TO THE POWER TRAIN (AND SPEED CONTROL POSSIBLY.) I HOPE I AM THE ONLY PERSON WITH THE PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM MUST BE ASSESSED AND APPROPRIATE ACTION NEEDS TO BE TAKEN. MY CAR IS CURRENTLY AT A REPAIR SHOP AND WILL BE ASSESSED, HOPEFULLY TOMORROW.

MY TRANSMISSION HAD BEEN SLIPPING IN THE LOWER GEARS, AND ESPECIALLY WHEN I TURNED CORNERS. FINALLY THE CAR GOT STUCK IN 5TH GEAR, AND BARELY GOES WHEN I HIT THE GAS. BOTH THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I AM TAKING IT IN.

I PURCHASED THE CAR BRAND NEW AND HAD IT FOR 6 DAYS. WE DROVE FROM DENVER TO BRECKINRIDGE. WE WERE COMING DOWN THE MOUNTAIN WHEN THE CAR SHUT OFF GOING 70 MILES AN HOUR. AT ONE POINT THE HYDRAULICS WENT OUT AND THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK. WE PULLED THE CAR OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IT TOOK ABOUT 10 MINUTES TO START UP THE CAR AGAIN. WE PROCEEDED ON, THINKING IT WAS SOMETHING WITH THE ALTITUDE AND WAS A FLUKE. NO, IT HAPPENED TO US AGAIN. THE SAME THING. THE CAR SHUT OFF AGAIN GOING 70 AND THE BRAKES DIDN'T WORK. IT WAS TERRIFYING. THE CAR WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. IT NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION AND ASSOCIATED PARTS, ON A NEW CAR WITH 400 MILES. IF THIS WAS IN THE WINTER AND THE ROADS WERE ICY, MY FAMILY AND I WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD.
