While accelerating on freeway, engine suddenly turned off. Fuel pump went out, and I had to coast to safety avoiding traffic. Having to move lanes into the shoulder was incredibly scary once my momentum dropped to 15mph on a freeway alongside cars going 85+. It almost caused 2 separate accidents where others had to slam on their brakes. I noticed other renegades have recalls for this, I’m curious why mine does not when I enter in the vin?

While driving my car, all of a sudden all my icons on my dashboard will light up. My car will die in the middle of driving it and once I put it in park it won't restart. Also when driving it seems like not enough gas is going through to get it to move. I can be driving my car for 15 to 20 minutes and all of a sudden it dies in the middle of the road. This is the 3rd time it has happened to me since owning it all withing the last year.. It is unsafe for me to have my car die in the middle of the road while traffic is all around me. Something is absolutely wrong with my car. Yet I put in my vin for my particular car and it doesn't show a recall but on the 2017 Jeep Renegades there have been recalls for fuel pumps electrical and not enough fuel pressure.

Jeep renegade 2017 fuel pump recall fail. Check engine light on after the recall. diagnostic shows evap leak from the fuel pump assembly. Dealership refuse to hold responsibility of the recall. It has been 5 months already. Tech smells gasoline from the backseat and it is a fire hazard.

I was traveling on the highway at approximately 65mph at rush hour and my vehicle's accelerator stopped working, therefore rapidly slowing down my vehicle without any messages or notifications as to why. I barely got my car to the shoulder of the highway before the accelerator became completely firm and would not allow my car to move forward any further. This happened in a span of a few seconds. Before putting my car in park, it said I needed to put it in park and depress the brake in order to shift into drive. This is the 2nd time my car has become disabled abruptly on the highway and thr first time it was taken to the jeep dealership where they said it was a fuel pump and electrical system and that my car ran out of gas without it showing I was on empty. The gauge read just short of the empty mark both times before becoming disabled but the light never came on saying I was almost out of gas.

Gas pump keeps shutting off every 2 second. It is only 2017 model with 59000 mileage, and I can't even pass the smog check. I feel like I should report this, cause major japanese car never have this kind of problem.

I have a 2017 Jeep Renegade Latitude. I bought it in 2020 and had it for 2 weeks when the engine blew up. There was a recall on the engine so Chrysler paid for the “new” engine. Two weeks after I got it back it started stalling out when I was driving down the road. I had a new starter put in it and now when it decides to shut down while driving the brakes come on, including the emergency brakes, it comes to a screeching halt, and the gear shift throws itself from drive into park. I just want to either get my car fixed or Stellantis to trade with me to make things right. It is very unsafe to drive. Especially when you don’t know when it is going to do this because it doesn’t happen every time you drive the car.

The first generation with the 1.4l turbo engine. Had two air lines coming off of the air filter container. They are solid and break when the dealer does the courtesy check during oil changes. It is a common problem showing online and the dealers do not take responsibility for it

My fuel gauge went bad, resulting in me running out of gas when it stated I had over 1/4 tank left. So that $80 tow bill was fun. Also, my coolant temperature light just started coming on today, reaching all the way up to the top and red light when I was idling at stop lights. It would return to middle while driving, then ramp up to the top when idling. By searching the recalls with my VIN, it states I have no recalls to fix. However, after speaking with an FCA Recall Center representative, I was told to take it into a dealership so they could diagnose it as a manufacturing defect. Let me also state I'm not thrilled with this dealership and they have been sneaky in the past, gaslighting me about the excessive oil consumption and blaming me, when it was a recall that they later fixed (James River Jeep, Ozark, Missouri).

Fuel system or engine failure to start vehicle. Malfunctioning, as well as excess oil consumption. Dealerships are neglect to address the issues. There is a recall for the make, model, and year of my vehicle but my VIN was not listed but I believe it should be.

My vehicle runs out of gas at 1/4 display on the fuel gauge. The steering stopped working in my car turns off stating I have 48 miles. It’s extremely dangerous this is happened twice already live on the car for two years.

Just purchased this Jeep August 31, 2022. This is the 2nd time that while driving the vehicle suddenly shows very high RPM and will barely move. Could the previous repair to the engine recall have failed? I have an appointment to take the vehicle for service again. The first time the dealership said they did updates to fix the problem.

After getting gas on two occasions, today being the worst, my car shut off as I was exiting the gas station. My vehicle has started rough on a few other occasions, which I have spoken to my dealership. To which I was told maybe I wasn’t pushing the start button long enough. I was clearly concerned for my safety and my mothers because she was in the vehicle with me. I was also concerned for the oncoming traffic. I have taken it to the dealership for a diagnostic test because the engine light comes on and off. The code came up for a slight evap leak. I have been waiting for that part for about 3 months now. This usually only happens after I get gas. I am so worried that it’s going to start happening all the time or I am going to get into a bad accident.

There is a recall on the 2017 renegade but somehow my jeep isn’t on the list even though I am having the exact issue - they think the oil pump isn’t working correctly. The vehicle just stops driving when in drive. Which is terrifying. It happened twice and we contacted FCA twice to have them do nothing. They said we have to drive the vehicle for 2000 miles in order to read the oil level - which is nuts. I can’t get in a vehicle that just stops working while driving, it’s a huge liability. It’s been sitting at the service department in a dealership for a year and a half and no one will help.

I should have still had gas in my tank according to my dash. I had just pulled into a parking space at a store and my car just stopped running. Ended up getting it towed and checked over all to find out my car was out of gas. If I was driving and this happened it would not have ended good. No lights popped up on my dash. I showed I had plenty of gas still. Since then I have kept it at half a tank or over and each time I fill up it is taking a different amount of fuel. I have no idea what is happening and I have not had the time or money yet to take this in to figure out what is happening. The Jeep only has 55,564 miles on it and I keep up regular maintenance. I have not had any issues since I bought this in April 2021 until now. I have had an older car in my past do this to me and was almost hit by another car because of it. I do not feel this should be happening to a car with this low of miles. I will be taking the car in soon to get inspected more but figured this should be something I should make you aware of.

I have a 2017 Jeep Renegade. The engine needs to be completely replaced due to faulty manufactured engine. It would randomly turn off or stall, or sometimes engine kept turning and wouldn’t start. The bearings broke off inside the engine and now JEEP is trying NOT to cover it and I can’t get any help after speaking to 7 diff Case Managers. There has been zero help from them in regards to their liability in this. There is already a class action lawsuit filed, in 2020. It is sad that they are handling clients this way. I was very nice and I work in customer service so I understand what is possible etc. The Jeep mechanic locally , called on my case to verify and tell them that my engine needs to be replaced as a direct correlation of the recalled parts and that they were on back order for months. During those months I tried to have recalled parts replaced and couldn’t because the parts are on back order. During this time my warranty became invalid, because I exceeded 60,000 miles. I’m currently at 62,000 miles. At the time I attempted to have recalls fixed I was under 60,000 miles. Secondly the warranty expires In 2022. Regardless , the recalls caused the engine needing to be replaced. Please advise what my options are to ensure I don’t have to pay to replace the whole engine. Thank you

Engine stalled. Restarted after fifteen minutes then quickly stalled again. Restarted again after thirty minutes (and continued operating as we turned around to return home. We were on the shoulder in heavy traffic on I-70 east of Loveland Pass in Colorado with light trailer in tow, Dealer reports it could not reproduce the problem. Vehicle was inspected by dealer service department. No symptoms or warning lamps came on prior to stalling. Engine temperature gauge was in normal range. Fuel level was between quarter and half tank. So, no warning beforehand.

WHILE DRIVING, MY ENGINE STALLED AND WOULD NOT RESTART. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND AFTER SOME TIME THE VEHICLE RELUCTANTLY RESTARTED. THIS HAPPENED TWICE WITHIN 4 DAYS. BOTH TIMES I WAS DESCENDING AND DECELERATING ON A STREET GOING LESS THAN 10 MPH. THE STALL OCCURRED AFTER APPLYING BRAKE AND DID NOT RESPOND TO GAS PEDAL INPUT. RPMS READ ZERO, ALL ELECTRICAL AND POWER STEERING STILL WORKING.

ALL THREE TIMES THE VEHICLE HAD JUST BEEN STARTED, IDLED FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES, AND THEN DIED WITHIN THREE MINUTES OF BEING PUT IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT AHEAD AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 15-30 MPH.

VEHICLE WILL STALL OUT WHEN DRIVING, GOING LESS THAN 40 MILES PER HOUR. SYSTEM DOES NOT SHUT DOWN. DOES NOT SEEM TO BE A BATTERY OR ELECTRICAL ISSUE. HAD THIS HAPPEN 3 TIMES IN A MONTH. PULLED OVER INTO PARK & HAD TO RESTART THE CAR. LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK IN FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE. MECHANIC REFERRED ME TO DEALERSHIP AS THEY COULD ONLY DETERMINE A LOW OIL CONSUMPTION/ PRESSURE. TERRIBLE KNOCKING SOUND IN FRONT AS WELL. VERY CONCERNED AS OTHER JEEPS HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR SIMILAR ISSUES, BUT MY 2017 RENEGADE LATITUDE IS NOT UNDER THE RECALL. HUGE SAFETY CONCERN.

2017 JEEP RENEGADE ENGINE DIES WHILE DRIVING, OFTEN AFTER MAKING TURNS, AND IT TAKES A FEW MINUTES TO START BACK UP. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON BOTH RESIDENTIAL STREETS AT SLOWER SPEEDS, AS WELL AS ON THE HIGHWAY AND IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT JEEP DEALERSHIP SAYS IT'S NORMAL AND A "FEATURE" OF THE VEHICLE TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE IF OIL LEVELS GET TOO LOW. WE REGULARLY CHANGE THE OIL EVERY 3,000 - 4,000 MILES, AND THERE HAVE BEEN NO OIL LEAKS DETECTED.

MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A 2 LANE CITY ROAD GOING UP A MOUNTAIN IN TUCSON. UPON REACHING THE ALTITUDE OF ABOUT 4000 FEET, MY VEHICLE STARTED TO STALL OUT. EVERYTHING LOCKED UP, BRAKES, STEERING WHEEL, GAS, ETC. AS THE VEHICLE WAS STALLING, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. AT THIS POINT, MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES OF WAITING, I WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT. WE CONTINUED OUR ASCENT UP THE MOUNTAIN, BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN ABOUT 3 MINUTES LATER. AT THIS POINT, WE CANCELLED OUR PLANS AND WENT BACK DOWN. THERE WERE NO ISSUES GOING DOWN THE MOUNTAIN OR AFTERWARDS. ABOUT A MONTH LATER, WE TRIED IT AGAIN, AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED, BUT THIS TIME STARTING AT AROUND 3500 FT.

I GOT GAS AT A LOCAL GAS STATION AND AS SOON AS I PULLED OUT STARTED TO NOTICE HESITATION AND JERKING FROM THE VEHICLE. PRESSING THE GAS I NOTICED IT WASN'T SHIFTING GEARS AS GOOD AND ENGINE LIGHT FLASHED BUT DIDN'T STAY ON. AFTER 2 DAYS THE PROBLEM DID NOT END AND FINALLY ENGINE LIGHT WAS CONSISTENTLY ON. I COULD NOTICE THE VEHICLE WASN'T DRIVING AS GOOD IN CRUISE CONTROL AND WOULD CONSTANTLY JERK AND VIBRATE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN MOTION A CONSISTENT JERK WAS PRESENT. I DRIVE TO WORK ON THE INTERSTATE AND GOING UP HILLS I BEGAN TO NOTICE A LAG IN THE VEHICLE.

THE JEEP WAS STAIONARY. THE FUEL PUMP WOULDN'T COME OUT OF THE CAR, LEADING TO THE CAR LEAKING GAS EVERYWHERE AND THEN WOULDN'T START. TOOK THE CAR BACK TO JEEP DEALERSHIP, THEY REPLACED THE FUEL FUEL TANK FILLER. A WEEK LATER THE JEEP IS STATIONARY AND THEN WHEN I TURNED ON THE CAR IT WOULDN'T START AND HAD A FLASHING LIGHTNING SYMBOL AND THEN GAS STARTED LEAKING EVERYWHERE FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE JEEP. I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND ONLY HAVE HAD IT FOR TWO YEARS. I FEEL THAT I MIGHT HAVE A LEMON.

I PULLED OVER, CHECKED OIL LEVEL AND IT WAS EXTREMELY LOW. CHANGED THE OIL AND A MONTH LATER THE ALERT REOCCURRED. CHECKED OIL AND IT WAS LOW. ADDED OIL TO KEEP FROM REPEAT STALLING. THIS SEEMS TO BE VERY SIMILAR TO THE RECALL OF THE CRACK OIL PUMP HOUSING, NHTSA NUMBER 18V131000.

ENGINE WOULD TAKE QUITE A FEW SECONDS TO FIRE/RESTART BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT AGAIN. IT WOULD ALSO VIBRATE QUITE BADLY AND BE UNABLE TO GO ANY HIGHER THAN 40MPH OR 1500RPM UNTIL I RESTARTED MY CAR. IT WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO ACCELERATE AT ALL UNTIL I RESTARTED. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE CAR AND HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR ABOUT A WEEK.

EVER SINCE THE BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER 2019, MY RENEGADE HAS BEEN STALLING WHEN I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING. IT STARTED OUT TO BE A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT IT NOW DOES IT EVERY TIME I TURN IT ON AND DRIVE. IT HAS STALLED ON ME WHEN I HAVE BEEN IN THE MIDDLE OF BUSY ROADS AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENTS. I NOTICE THAT IT WILL STALL IF I AM TURNING A CORNER OR IF I HAVE JUST STARTED IT UP AND DRIVING OFF WITHIN THE FIRST FEW MINUTES. I KNOW THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS BY OTHER 2017 RENEGADE OWNERS BUT I HAVE THE DESERTHAWK EDITION AND I HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING FOR MY MODEL. I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF IT AND IT IS ONLY A COUPLE OF YEARS OLD. THE STALLING PROBLEM THAT I AM HAVING SEEMS TO ONLY BE GETTING WORSE.

I ASKED HOW THAT IS POSSIBLE WHEN EXACTLY WHAT I AM EXPERIENCING IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY LISTED. SHE TOLD ME TO TAKE THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP HAVE THEM CHECK IT OUT AND IF THEY DETERMINED THAT THIS WAS THE PROBLEM THEN THEY WOULD NOT TO CALL AND TELL THEM THAT. HE THEN WENT ON TO EXPLAIN TO ME THAT WELL THEY COULD LOOK AT THE CAR BUT IT WOULD COST ME $230 TO DO A DIAGNOSTIC. I ASKED WHY I WOULD HAVE TO FOR THAT AND HE SAID "HE HAS TO PAY HIS PEOPLE". I MADE AN APPOINT AND TOOK THE CAR. WHEN THEY CALLED THEY WORDED EVERYTHING IN A MANNER THAT WOULD REMOVE ME FROM THE RECALL, HOWEVER THEY THEN PUT "FUEL INJECTION" AT THE BOTTOM. I HAD THIS HAPPEN LAST JUNE (2018) AND THE RECALL WAS ISSUED IN OCTOBER. THE ORIGINAL NOTICE SAID IT WOULD BE RESOLVED BY Q4 OF 2018. IT IS NOW APRIL OF 2019 AND I LIVE IN FLORIDA, WHICH MEANS HIGHER THAN AVERAGE TEMPERATURES EVERY DAY. WHILLE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A CITY STREET AND MAKING A RIGHT TURN AND DESCENDING A SMALL HILL THE VEHICLE "SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT" ILLUMINATES, CHIMES AND THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION LOCKS INTO A RANDOM GEAR (TYPICALLY 3 OR 5TH GEAR) AND REMAINS IN THIS GEAR. IT HAPPENS OVER HALF OF THE TIME AND RESULTS IN A VERY UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITION AS THE VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE PROPERLY OR MAINTAIN ADEQUATE SPEED DEPENDING ON THE GEAR IN WHICH IT IS STUCK. THE VEHICLE HAS TO DODGE TRAFFIC AND PULL OVER IN A SAFE PLACE WHERE THE VEHICLE CAN BE SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED, WHICH IN MOST CASES WILL RESET THE TRANSMISSION AND ALLOW IT TO FUNCTION CLOSER TO NORMAL. FCA IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE DEALER HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO REMEDY THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR 6 MONTHS. THEY HAVE REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE, THE TRANSMISSION, THE EVAP CANISTER AND THE FUEL PUMP. FCA AND THE DEALER ARE STATING THIS IS "NORMAL" FUNCTION AND THAT THE TURN OR THE HILL MUST BE EXTREME OPERATION. THIS IS HAPPENING AT A SLOW SPEED TURN OF 10-15 MPH. I HAVE VIDEO RECORDINGS WHICH HAVE BEEN SHARED WITH FCA AND THE DEALER AND I WOULD GLADLY SHARE WITH NHTSA. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT RECALL NUMBER 18V-731. THE LETTER WE RECEIVED SAID A SOLUTION WOULD BE AVAILABLE BY THE END OF Q4 2018. I CALLED OUR DEALERSHIP TODAY AND CONFIRMED THERE IS NO SOLUTION YET. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ISSUE. CAVITATION FROM A BAD FUEL PUMP REALLY DOESN'T DESCRIBE WHAT IT'S LIKE TO HAVE YOUR ENGINE STALL OUT ON YOU AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WHILE GOING UPHILL. TWICE. A THIRD TIME IT OCCURRED ON A SIMPLE CITY STREET. WE WERE ALMOST INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. NO WARNING, NO CHECK-ENGINE LIGHT, NO SPUTTERING OR LESS-RESPONSIVE ENGINE - NOTHING. JUST STALLED OUT. THE ISSUE IS LIKELY TO OCCUR IN HOT SUMMER TIME AND DRIVING UP HILLS. WE LIVE IN HILLY TUCSON, ARIZONA WHERE IT WILL HIT 90DEG TOMORROW. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND I BELIEVE THE MANUFACTURER CLAIMING ITS JUST A FAULTY FUEL PUMP IS BOGUS. IF IT WAS THAT SIMPLE, WHY IS THERE NO NEW FUEL PUMP AVAILABLE? WHY ARE THE FUEL PUMPS ON NEW INVENTORY OKAY, BUT THEY CAN'T PRODUCE ONE GOOD ENOUGH TO SATISFY THIS RECALL? AFTER EXPERIENCING THE ISSUE SEVERAL TIMES, I THINK THE PROBLEM LIES IN THE SOFTWARE, OR HOW THE SENSOR READS THE FUEL PRESSURE OR ENGINE TEMPS. WHILE DRIVING THE SAME DAY THE CAR STALLED 2 MORE TIMES. AT NO POINT WERE ANY INDICATORS LIT SHOWING ANY PROBLEM. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM, AFTER EXPLAINING THE TIME IT STALLED GOING DOWN HILL HE CHECKED THE OIL AND FOUND IT EMPTY. THE MANUAL STATES CHANGING THE OIL WHEN THE WARNING LIGHT IS LIT, ONCE A YEAR OR 10,000 MILES. I HAVE HAD THE OIL CHANGED BY PROFESSIONALS IN OUR BEFORE 5,000 MILES. AT THE TIME I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND DISCOVERED IT HAD NO OIL I WAS STILL UNDER THE 5,000 MILE RANGE TO HAVE THE OIL REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED ME THAT THE OIL HAD PROBABLY BURNED UP AND CHANGED THE OIL AND FILTER. MONTHS LATER WHEN PULLING OUT ONTO A MAIN ROAD THE VEHICLE AGAIN STALKED WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH, THANKFULLY THE CAR STARTED ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT AS A TRACTOR TRAILER WAS COMING UP BEHIND ME. I IMMEDIATELY BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE JEEP DEALER AND WAS INFORMED IT WOULD BE A FEW HOURS ADD I HAD NOT SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT. AFTER EXPLAINING MY ISSUE THE TECHNICIAN CHECKED MY OIL FINDING IT EMPTY, ABOUT 4,000 MILES SINCE LAST OIL CHANGE, AND STATED HE WOULD TOP IT OFF FOR FREE TO SPEED UP THE PROCESS. HE STATED THIS WAS A RECENTLY DISCOVERED ISSUE BUT NOTHING YET WAS BEING DONE TO FIX THE ISSUE. I SEE A RECALL HAS BEEN PUT OUT AND CHECKED MY VIN WHICH CAME BACK AS NOT RECALLED BUT I BELIEVE MY CAR MAY HAVE THE RECALL OR SOMETHING ELSE POSSIBLY WRONG.

I PURCHASED MY CAR BACK IN MAY OF 2018 AND HAVE NOTICED INCONSISTENCIES WITH MY FUEL CONSUMPTION AS WELL AS A STRANGE KICKING FEELING WHEN DRIVING AT TIMES. I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN THE MAIL IN DECEMBER SHORTLY AFTER GOING IN FOR SOME MAINTENANCE WHICH DETAILED THE UNDERLYING ISSUE. IT SAID THAT THE CURRENT FUEL PUMP MODULE ON THIS CAR IS PRONE TO CAVITATION AND THAT THE SPONTANEOUS LOSS OF FUEL MAY RESULT IN A "SUDDEN LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER, WHICH MAY CAUSE A VEHICLE CRASH WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING." I CALLED THE NUMBER PROVIDED ON THE NOTICE AND WAS AGAIN INFORMED THAT THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE CURRENTLY TO REMEDY THIS ISSUE. THE CALL CENTER REP ALSO INDICATED THAT THE ISSUE WAS MADE PUBLIC IN OCTOBER. WHEN I ASKED IF THERE WAS ANY TIMEFRAME FOR HOW LONG IT MIGHT TAKE FOR THE NEEDED PART TO MATERIALIZE, I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS "NONE AT THIS TIME." I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD PRODUCE CARS WITH SUCH A GLARING PROBLEM THEN NOT OFFER ANY SPECIFIC REMEDIES OR SOLUTIONS FOR THE PEOPLE DRIVING THEM. THEY RECOGNIZE THE PART HAS TO BE REPLACED BUT THIS IS OBVIOUSLY NOT A PRIORITY FOR THEM AS THEY HAVE NOT PROVIDED A SOLUTION FOR MONTHS NOW. THE ONLY SOLUTION I HAVE BEEN OFFERED WAS TO BE REIMBURSED FOR SELECT DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE THAT MAY OCCUR AFTER THE FACT. I BELIEVE THAT IS BLATANT IRRESPONSIBILITY ON THE PART OF THE MANUFACTURER AND WOULD LIKE THIS PART MADE AVAILABLE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AS I AM NOW IN A POSITION THAT I CAN NO LONGER RELIABLY TRAVEL IN THE VEHICLE I'M CONTINUING TO PAY FOR. REACHED OUT TO THE FCA AND THEY GOT ME IN CONTACT WITH DEALERSHIPS WHO DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS READILY AVAILABLE AND COULD NOT GIVE ME AN ETA. I INSISTED THAT I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN AND I DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING AROUND A VEHICLE THAT COULD AT ANY TIME CAUSE A CRASH BECAUSE OF A DEFECTED PART. I WAS TOLD IT WAS A ONE IN A MILLION CHANCE THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN, WHICH OBVIOUSLY IS NOT THE CASE IF A RECALL WAS ISSUED. I WAS TOLD I WOULD RECEIVE A CALL BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP ON MONDAY AND HAD TO CALL BACK TWO DAYS LATER BECAUSE I HAD NOT HEARD BACK. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO GO IN, AND WHEN I WENT IN THE SALES MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THE FCA HADN'T RELEASED THE PART FOR A RECALL THAT'S OVER TWO MONTHS OLD AND THEIR HANDS WERE TIED UNTIL THE PART COMES IN. I WAS TOLD THAT IF I TRADED IN THE CAR I WAS LOOKING AT A HUGE NEGATIVE EQUITY I WOULD BE PAYING FOR A CAR I HAD, AGAIN, BOUGHT TWO MONTHS PRIOR. I WAS NOT ADVISED ON THE BUY BACK OPTION, BUT JUST TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE MY CHANCES UNTIL THE PART CAME IN.

MY VEHICLE STALLED WHILE IN MOTION MULTIPLE TIMES.. SHORTLY AFTER STARTING MY VEHICLE AND DRIVING DOWN THE STREET OR OUT OF A PARKING LOT. THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL AND THE DASH WOULD TELL ME TO PLACE VEHICLE IN PARK BUT THE BREAK PEDAL WOULD LOCK UP NOT ALLOWING ME TO SWITCH FROM DRIVE TO PARK. EACH TIME FOR NO MORE THAN 5 MINS BEFORE FINALLY ALLOWING ME TO SWITCH GEARS AND RESTART THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUE DRIVING.

MY CAR HAS STALLED TWO DAYS IN A ROW AT THE SAME SPOT. IN THE MORNING IT REFLECTS THAT I HAVE LOW OIL PRESSURE BUT THEN THE WARNING GOES AWAY IMMEDIATELY. AFTER WORK, I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE FOR A 0.5 MILES BEFORE IT STALLED AFTER THE SAME TURN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE MY WARNING LIGHTS AREN'T GOING OFF. THEY TOPPED MY CAR OFF WITH OIL EVEN THOUGH I JUST GOT AN OIL CHANGE 2 MONTHS AGO. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE AND AM REGRETTING MY DECISION OF GETTING A JEEP.

CAR WAS RUNNING FINE UNTIL WE STOPPED TO GET A LITTLE MORE GAS AT A CIRCLE K GAS STATION. WE HAD ABOUT A 4TH OF A TANK LEFT AND ADDED $10 OF 87YR GAS IN AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER WE GOT BACK ON TO THE ROAD THE ENGINE STARTED BUCKING AND LURCHING LIKE IT WAS TRYING TO DIE ON US. IT DID THAT THE WHOLE WAY DRIVING HOME FOR 2 MORE HRS. THEN THE NEXT DAY (TODAY) IT WAS DOING THE SAME THING BUT NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE HAVE A PRETTY GOOD SNOW STORM THAT HIT US TODAY AND WE WANTED TO SWITCH THE 4WD TO SNOW BUT THE LOCK LIGHT WON'T COME ON AND IT DOESN'T LET YOU CHANGE TO SNOW MODE ANYMORE. MY HUSBAND THOUGHT MAYBE WE JUST GOT SOME BAD GAS AND DECIDED TO PUT A BOTTLE OF HEET IN THE GAS TANK TO SEE IF IT REMOVE ANY WATER IN THE TANK BUT IT IS STILL ACTING JUST AS BAD AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON.

WHILE DRIVING 80 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE THE CAR SUDDENLY STALLED. THE FUEL WAS OVER HALF FULL AND OIL WAS WITH NORMAL RANGES (CHECKED BEFORE TRIP). THIS IS THE 5 SUCH INSTANCE OF THIS HAPPENING BETWEEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHTROOM DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE FIRST COUPLES TIMES DEALERSHIP TRIED TO SAY IT WAS THE VISCOSITY OF THE OIL CAUSED IT TO BE LOWER THAN THE CAR READ IT TO BE. AN OIL CHANGE WAS DONE. NOTHING ELSE. THIS TIME THE DEALERSHIP IS GOING TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 JEEP RENEGADE. WHETHER THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE OR AT A STOP LIGHT, IT BEGAN TO SHAKE WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WINDOW FAILED TO CLOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BRAVO CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM OF ALHAMBRA (LOCATED AT 1100 W MAIN ST, ALHAMBRA, CA 91801, (626) 283-52120) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WINDOW TINT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE WINDOW FAILURE, AND THE OIL WAS AT AN UNSAFE LEVEL AND NEEDED TO BE CLEANED. AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST WAS COMPLETED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE OIL WAS AT AN IMPROPER LEVEL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,570.

ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN TRANSMISSION WOULDN'T ENGAGE AND THE JEEP STARTED SHAKING. CAME TO A STOP, SHIFTED TO MANUAL AND IT NEEDED HIGH RPM'S TO GET IT MOVING. IT FINALLY GOT MOVING AND HAD TO USE MANUAL GET IT OFF THE HIGHWAY. WAS AT THE DEALER A FEW MONTHS EARLIER DEALING WITH THE TRANSMISSION NOT ENGAGING. DEALER SAID IT WAS A SOFTWARE ISSUE. DEALER NOW SAYS IT'S NOT TRANSMISSION BUT ENGINE PROBLEMS. THANKFUL TO BE ALIVE.

TAKATA RECALL. WAS DRIVING AT 75 MPH ON CRUISE CONTROL WHEN MY JEEP SLAMMED ON THE BREAKS. IT THEN PROCEEDED TO HAVE SURGES. NO LIGHTS CAME ON. IT COMPLETELY SHUT OFF BUT WAS STILL ON. A ERROR CAME ON STATING TO SERVICE TRANSMISSION. TOOK TO A DEALERSHIP THAT SAID IT WAS NEEDING AN UPDATE WITH THE COMPUTER. WENT 340 MORE MILES THE NEXT DAY AND IT DONE THE EXACT SAME THING. LOST ALL POWER STEERING. NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. GOT TOWED AND THEY TOLD ME NO CODES CAME UP WHILE PLUGGED INTO THE COMPUTER. WAS THEN TOLD IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP AND WOULD BE A TWO WEEK WAIT. WAS TOLD IT'S BEEN A VERY COMMON THING WITH THE 2017 RENEGADES SO THEY'RE BACK ORDERED. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THE DEALERSHIP THE DAY BEFORE BYPASSED SOMETHING TO SEND ME ON MY WAY. CALLED CHRYSLER AND THEY AREN'T HELPING AT ALL. AND I'M STILL 480 MILES FROM MY HOME. THERE SHOULD DEFINITELY BE A RECALL ON THEM. IT WILL END UP GETTING SOMEONE KILLED.

VARIOUS MESSAGES HAVE BEEN DISPLAYED THE MOST PREVIOUS TIMES SAYING "TO SHIFT VEHICLE MUST BE STOPPED" I WASN'T TRYING TO SHIFT? NO CODES EVER BEING SHOWN ARE THE SAME. ALL ISSUES CAUSE THE CAR TO COMPLETELY STOP. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ON THE ROADS OFCOURSE. IT'S ALREADY HAD AN UPDATE TO THE SYSTEM THE DEALERSHIP SAID WAS NEEDED. ON JUNE 11TH, 2 DAYS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR WITH JUST UNDER 7000 MILES WE NOTICED THE BATTERY LIGHT ON WHICH DISAPPEARED ABOUT 10 MINUTES AFTER DRIVING IT. TODAY, JUNE 20TH, WHILE DRIVING ON FLORIDA'S TURNPIKE AT 72MPH WARNING LIGHT CAME ON, THERE WAS A BEEPING SOUND AND THE CAR SEEMED TO LOSE POWER VERY BRIEFLY AS IF IT WAS GOING TO TURN OFF. THIS COULD BE A SAFETY HAZARD ESPECIALLY ON AN INTERSTATE. I AM ALSO NOTICING SLUGGISH ACCELERATION AT TIMES.

AFTER FILLING GAS TANK, I TRIED TO START CAR AND IT TOOK A COUPLE OF TRIES TO GET IT TO CRANK OVER. ONCE IT STARTED, THE CAR WAS MAKING AN INTENSE KNOCKING NOISE AND SPUTTERING SO VIOLENTLY IT ACTUALLY CAUSED THE WHOLE CAR TO ROCK. AFTER A FEW MINUTES IT SETTLED DOWN AND I PULLED ONTO THE STREET AND THE CAR JUST DIED... NO LIGHT INDICATORS AT ALL AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LOOKED AS IF THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF. AGAIN IT TOOK A COUPLE OF TRIES, BUT THE CAR FINALLY STARTED AND BEGAN KNOCKING AND SPUTTERING ABOUT, THEN SETTLED DOWN. I ENTERED THE FREEWAY ONRAMP AND NOTICED WHEN I LET MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR, THE CAR WOULD ESSENTIALLY DIE WHILE GOING 60 MILES AN HOUR. I GOT OFF THE FREEWAY AND BY THE TIME I STOPPED ON THE OFFRAMP, THE CAR HAD DIED AGAIN. I HAD TO PUT ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES UNTIL THE CAR STARTED AGAIN. I DROVE TO A PARKING LOT AND PRESSED THE ONBOARD BUTTON FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. THEY CAME AND TOWED THE CAR TO THE DEALER. THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WAS 67 DEGREES AND THERE WAS A SLIGHT RAIN SPRINKLE. BEFORE I GOT GAS, THE CAR WAS FINE. I HAD 1/4 OF A TANK AND THE GAS LIGHT HAD JUST COME ON. I HAD NEVER USED VALERO GAS BEFORE AND FOR SOME REASON IT TOOK 13.5 GALLONS TO FILL THE TANK THAT ALREADY HAD A 1/4 OF A TANK IN IT. IN THE PAST THE MOST I HAVE FUELED UP WHILE ON LESS THAN 1/8 OF A TANK WAS 11.8. I'M NOT SURE THE FUEL SITUATION MATTERS, BUT I THOUGHT I WOULD MENTION IT JUST IN CASE. THIS ISSUE WAS REALLY SCARY AND UNNERVING. THE CAR HAS 4500 MILES ON IT.
