Cracked oil pump housing/balance shaft module (BSM). The checking engine light came on, and the system requested an oil change after only 3k from the last oil change. I brought it to the mechanic, and the oil was refilled, and the checking engine light turned off. The vehicle keeps asking for an oil change. I opened the hood, and oil was splashed all over, leaving oil stains on the inside of the hood, hoses and surrounding surfaces.
my grandfather has own he renegade since it came out in 2017. it has had nothing but issues most of which as his granddaughter i had fixed. but the last at least year I've had his vehicle illuminate a check engine light. Especially in very wet weather, cold or hot weather. If it's a normal 65-degree days for a few days, it will go off. it's a very intermittent light. that you have to catch. Taken to AutoZone, dealership, etc. It's a P0420 code which is failed catalytic converter. called and spoke to Stellantis, Mopar customer service multiple times. it's not an issue they refuse to acknowledge. also pricing for a catalytic converter isn't possible. because the only available ones are on back order hard.
AC wasn’t working properly, replaced parts not working. Fan stopped working and removed fuse box and it worked bad wiring harness affecting all electrical, fire hazard, dealership would rather keep it than me driving because of fire or meltdown situation. Says part to repair has been discontinued. Why? Engine hesitation, transmission when driving with jerk and almost causing vehicle to stop
On 7/26/2024 I was driving my 2017 Jeep Renegade 1.4L Eastbound on I-70 going ~65mph. My dash had zero warning lamps or messages and there were no other symptoms of any problem yet suddenly at mile marker 188 my engine had no power, abundant smoke exited my tailpipe and engine, and I was forced to immediately pull over into a shallow construction zone with heavy interstate traffic whizzing past us. I turned my vehicle off and just turned the power back on for any information. Only then did the check engine light illuminate. I searched through my dash indicators and saw that there was simply no reading for Oil Temperature. I have immaculate maintenance records since the day I purchased my vehicle in 2019 including regular full synthetic oil and filter changes (on average 2,989 miles for years). I had two multi-point vehicle inspections at my original dealer (my due diligence maintenance before my extended warranty expired) around 2,000 miles, an oil change 1,038 miles, and a cooling system pressure test at 1,029 miles before this incident occurred. I had two independent, certified mechanic companies diagnose and confirm my vehicle condition: Cylinder 1 had no compression with a crack in the piston. My vast research on Jeep Renegades with 1.4L and 2.4L engines validates all my issues. I believe this catastrophic engine failure at a shocking odometer reading of 61,881 is due to a defect and it puts me and others at major safety risk. This was my second financially offensive event as my first involved having to replace my clutch system at mile 45,057 for ~$4,500 despite having owned and properly operated other manuals with no issue for years. In addition to the cost of maintenance, multiple expensive repairs, numerous towing events, mechanic diagnostics, renting cars when this Jeep failed me, I am now looking at a $10,000 engine fix for a historically unreliable vehicle. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 27,500.

Car stalled in the middle of the busy road with no warning when accelerating from a right turn between 12-24 mph and a "low oil pressure sensor" light displayed and disappeared for 3 seconds. Received oil change that day and Valvoline did not mention any concerns about oil level. The next day, my car had been driving for 10+ min and struggled to accelerate out of light, specifically in range of 30-45 mph and the RPMs shot up to 3000. Car kept running but struggled to down shift. Terrified of this happening on my daily interstate and state roads drive, especially in winter!!! Taking to dealership service department to hopefully get this huge safety issue fixed.
Lose of power when accelerating out of parking lot. This now has happened 3 times with no warning light coming on in the car and vehicle is regularly maintained without issues.

This vehicle only has about 55,000 miles on it and the transmission is failing, somewhere between four and six gear the car starts jerking
The vehicle instrument panel begins flashing multiple warning lights while driving and subsequently while stopped such as emergency brake on, key fob left the vehicle, fuel engine, TPMS, etc. All of these occur while the vehicle is moving. While coming to a stop the power steering pump also becomes inoperative, the shift indicator (PRND) is blinking, and it is impossible to move the shift lever. The vehicle will not shut off until the battery is disconnected. The problem seems to manifest when ambient air temperature exceeds 80 Fahrenheit and the vehicle has been previously operated.
Vehicle has been serviced twice for “drive train software updates,” and is yet again having engine issues with shifting gears and acceleration.
As I was driving on the freeway my car suddenly started to act and feel different. I had the ability to exit the freeway immediately and thankfully made it to a parking lot where my engine eventually died. I had the vehicle towed to my mechanic where he determined the rocker arm (attached to the mutli air actuator) on cylinder 4 broke and caused the engine to malfunction. Had I been unable to exit the freeway I would have been a road hazard and in an unsafe situation. My mechanic replaced the multi air actuator and the cam shaft. He also confirmed that he has seen this exact issue in other chrysler vehicles, specifically jeeps.
When you get up to 29-30 mph the vehicle will jerk. Sometimes so hard it feels like you have been hit in the back in. I took it in 3 times to be checked out. This is the explanation they gave me for why my car does this. That newer vehicles get used to one person driving it and when someone else does then goes back to the original person it knows this. So it is trying to relearn the driving pattern. I know cars are a lot smarter now. Not that smart though. I know something is making it do this. No one can give me a real explanation.
The Renegade makes a loud noise coming from the rear of the vehicle at about 35 mph and begins to dissipate at around 45 mph when the car is in Drive. If I move the drive selector to manual shifting, the noise goes away for the most part. If I turn OFF the traction control, the noise disappears completely. I'm not real excited about turning off the traction control system as this could enhance the dangers of driving with reduced traction control. This happens without fail.

Vehicle transmission jolts when going through gears
The transmission has gone out twice on this vehicle in less than 46000 miles. The second incident almost caused a car accident due to major stalling during highway driving as the transmission started to fail.
WHILE DRIVING, MY ENGINE STALLED AND WOULD NOT RESTART. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND AFTER SOME TIME THE VEHICLE RELUCTANTLY RESTARTED. THIS HAPPENED TWICE WITHIN 4 DAYS. BOTH TIMES I WAS DESCENDING AND DECELERATING ON A STREET GOING LESS THAN 10 MPH. THE STALL OCCURRED AFTER APPLYING BRAKE AND DID NOT RESPOND TO GAS PEDAL INPUT. RPMS READ ZERO, ALL ELECTRICAL AND POWER STEERING STILL WORKING.

MANUAL TRANS 1.4L. FOR APPROXIMATELY THE LAST YEAR, I'VE GOTTEN AN INTERMITTENT 'SERVICE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE' MESSAGE. I NEVER HAD IT LOOKED AT, I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND THEN IT WOULD GO AWAY. ALSO THE CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED TURNING OFF FROM ACCESSORY POWER MODE. I COULDN'T JUST ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS, I HAD TO CRANK THE CAR OR THE POWER WOULDN'T TURN BACK OFF. RECENTLY HAD CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WITH CODE P0807 'CLUTCH POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT 1 LOW' SHOWING. THE NEXT DAY, CAR WAS DIFFICULT TO START. IT TOOK SEVERAL TRIES PUSHING THE START BUTTON AND MESSING WITH CLUTCH BEFORE IT WOULD TURN OVER. I TOOK IT TO A SHOP (NOT DEALER) AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING OR REPLICATE THE CODES AND TOLD ME IT WAS A GLITCH. NEXT DAY I GET THE EPB LIGHT AGAIN AND USED MY CODE READER AND IT WAS SHOWING P0807 AND ABS CODE C1220-86. SO I LOCATED SAID SWITCH AND UNPLUGGED IT, AND BOOM. ALL THE PROBLEM CODES POPPED UP AGAIN AND I WAS ABLE TO TURN THE CAR OFF LIKE NORMAL. I REMOVED THE SENSOR AND OPENED THE COVER ON IT. THE CARBON FILM INSIDE WAS MISSING A SECTION. TESTED WITH A METER AND THE SENSOR LOST VOLTAGE WHEN SWEEP ARM INSIDE REACHED THE BROKEN SPOT. THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT COULD LEAVE YOU STRANDED SOMEWHERE IF YOU DIDN'T HAVE THE TOOLS TO REACH AND JUMP OUT THIS SENSOR. AND OF COURSE CLUTCH PARTS ARE NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. EVEN THOUGH THIS IS AN OBVIOUS FACTORY DEFECT SEEING AS IT'S ON THE INSIDE OF A SENSOR THAT I COULDN'T REACH WITHOUT REMOVING THE PANEL UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL.

WHEN AM DRIVING AT 40 MPH MY CAR PULLS WHEN I LET GO OF THE GAS OR WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS. IT ALSO PULLS AT HIGHER OR LOWER SPEEDS. IT'S NOT ALWAYS AT 40 MPH. ALSO WHEN AM IN DRIVING MY FORWARD COLLISION WARNING TURNS OFF JUST FOR NO REASON AND ON THE DASH IT SAYS IT'S TURNED OFF. STAYS TURNED OFF FOR AT LEAST 1 MIN OR 2. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE FOR INSPECTION BUT THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIND WHERE THE PROBLEM PRESISTES FROM.
THE MOTOR QUIT RUNNING WHILE TURNING ONTO AN ON-RAMP (25MPH), AND THE READOUT ON THE DASH SAID ' LOW OIL PRESSURE '. I HAD TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, PUT IT IN PARK, AND PRESS THE BRAKE AND PUSH THE START BUTTON. IT STARTED UP AFTER A COUPLE OF TRIES, AND I DROVE ONTO THE INTERSTATE WITHOUT IT REOCCURRING. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW. IT ALSO HAPPENED ON 01/11/2021.

2017 JEEP RENEGADE ENGINE DIES WHILE DRIVING, OFTEN AFTER MAKING TURNS, AND IT TAKES A FEW MINUTES TO START BACK UP. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON BOTH RESIDENTIAL STREETS AT SLOWER SPEEDS, AS WELL AS ON THE HIGHWAY AND IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT JEEP DEALERSHIP SAYS IT'S NORMAL AND A "FEATURE" OF THE VEHICLE TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE IF OIL LEVELS GET TOO LOW. WE REGULARLY CHANGE THE OIL EVERY 3,000 - 4,000 MILES, AND THERE HAVE BEEN NO OIL LEAKS DETECTED.

MY CAR STALLED AND TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING. I WAS IN MOTION TURNING FROM ONE ROAD ONTO ANOTHER IN JULY 2020 AND AGAIN 2X ON DEC 23RD, 2020 WITHOUT ANY WARNING. IN JULY THE DEALER TOLD ME IT WAS A "SAFETY FEATURE" FOR THE ENGINE TO TURN OFF IF THE OIL IS LOW. IT HAD BEEN 4,729 MILES SINCE MY LAST OIL CHANGE DONE BY THE JEEP DEALER WITH SYNTHETIC OIL (WHICH IS GOOD FOR 6,000 MILES). WHEN I HAD THE OIL CHECKED AFTER IT STALLED ON DEC 23RD THE OIL WAS 4 QUARTS LOW! THERE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL FOR OTHER 2017 JEEP RENEGADES WITH THE 2.4L ENGINE, BUT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED. THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR MY YEAR MAKE AND MODEL CAR FILED ON JULY 21ST, 2020 FOR THIS SAME EXACT PROBLEM.

THEN UPON CHECKING THE OIL LEVEL, NO OIL REGISTERS ON THE DIPSTICK. I'VE GOTTEN REGULAR OIL CHANGES AT 7500 MILE INTERVALS AS REMINDED BY THE ONBOARD SYSTEM. THE OIL IS FULLY GONE BY ABOUT 6000 MILES OR LESS.

I WAIT A MINUTE. I TRY TO START THE CAR AND IT WON'T START, IT JUST KEEPS CRANKING. EVENTUALLY, AND AFTER MANY FAILED ATTEMPTS AND FEAR OF RUINING THE STARTER, I MANAGE TO GET THE CAR STARTED, BUT BARELY. WHEN IT DOES FINALLY START, I WAIT A FEW SECONDS AND AM THEN ABLE TO DRIVE AGAIN NORMALLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THAN SEVERAL TIMES NOW IN THE PAST YEAR. IT IS ALSO WORTH NOTING THAT I SCHEDULE MY VEHICLE FOR REGULAR OIL CHANGES AS RECOMMENDED, BUT I OFTEN GET AN OIL PRESSURE LOW WARNING, SOMETIMES RIGHT BEFORE THE VEHICLE STALLS. I OFTEN HAVE TO ADD QUARTS OF OIL TO MY VEHICLE, EVEN WITH REGULAR OIL CHANGES. I DRIVE AN AVERAGE OF 12,000 MILES A YEAR AND I DO NOT ABUSE MY VEHICLE. WHEN RESEARCHING MY PROBLEM I CAME ACROSS TWO REMARKABLY SIMILAR ISSUES IN OTHER 2017 JEEP RENEGADES. THESE TWO RECALLS DO NOT SHOW UP WHEN I CHECK MY VEHICLE'S VIN AGAINST ACTIVE RECALLS. IT SEEMS LIKE MORE THAN A COINCIDENCE AND I AM ASKING THAT YOU BROADEN YOUR SCOPE FOR THIS ISSUE IN JEEP RENEGADES, BECAUSE I OR MY FAMILY COULD BE IN DANGER WHILE DRIVING.

STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR SHIFTING VERY HARD AT RANDOM TIMES AND AT VARIOUS SPEEDS WHILE DRIVING. DEALER SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM THE FIRST TIME WE HAD IT INSPECTED AND COULD NOT REPRODUCE IT AT THE SHOP. WE CONTINUED TO HAVE THESE PROBLEMS AND STARTED TO HEAR OUR VALVES KNOCKING SO WE CHECKED TO OIL. THE OIL WAS TWO QUARTS LOW AND BARELY ON THE DIP STICK. WE WERE ONLY MIDWAY THROUGH OIL CHANGE AND WE ONLY SERVICE OUR CAR AT THE DEALER. WE TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT USING A QUART OF OIL EVERY 2000 MILES IS NORMAL. IT MAY BE NORMAL FOR THIS CAR BUT IT IS NOT NORMAL FOR ANY CAR WE HAVE EVER OWNED. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT THEY DID NOT INFORM US AT OIL CHANGES THAT WE WERE HAVING TROUBLE MAINTAINING OUR OIL LEVELS. THIS WOULD EVENTUALLY CAUSE OUR CAR ENGINE TO FAIL AND CREATE A SAFETY HAZARD WHILE DRIVING AS THE ENGINE COULD TURN OFF FROM LACK OF OIL. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR JEEP TO KEEP THIS MANUFACTURING DEFECT A SECRET BECAUSE THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE HAS SHOWN THAT THIS IS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE.

THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. I WAS TOLD IT NEEDED A COMPUTER UPDATE, THE WIRING HARNESS NEEDED FIXED AND OTHER THINGS. THEY SAID IT WAS FIXED THE FIRST3 TIMES. THEY THEN TESTED THIS ISSUE ON 2016 RENEGADE, 2017 RENEGADE, AND 2018 RENEGADE. THE 2016 AND 2017 RENEGADES HAD THIS SAME ISSUE. THE 2018 RENEGADE REPORTEDLY DID NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE. MY DEALERSHIP SPOKE WITH A JEEP ENGINEER THAT HAS INVESTIGATED THIS ISSUE BEFORE, AND TRIED REPLACING THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM AS A SOLUTION. THAT DIDN'T FIX THE ISSUE, SO THE ENGINEER CLAIMS THAT IT'S "WORKING AS DESIGNED." CLEARLY IT'S DESIGNED UNSAFELY. WE HAD OUR CAR SERVICED 3 TIMES AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS PROBLEM AND IT STILL CONTINUES. WHEN WE WENT BACK FOR THE 3RD TIME ON MAY 24TH, THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD US THAT IT WASN'T THROWING ANY CODES SO THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO TO FIX IT. HE ALSO INFORMED US THAT THIS WAS A BIG PROBLEM WITH THE RENEGADES AND ALL THEY COULD DO WAS TO FLASH A SOFTWARE UPDATE EVEN THOUGH HE KNOWS IT WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. ANOTHER TECH SAID "IS YOUR CAR STILL UNDER WARRANTY?" WE SAID YES, IT ONLY HAS 32,000 MILES ON IT. HE SAID TO THE OTHER TECH, WE SHOULD JUST PUT A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION IN THE THING. THE OTHER TECH SAID, IF WE DO THAT, IT WILL JUST BE PUTTING THE SAME KIND OF TRANSMISSION BACK IN IT (9 SPEED TRANSMISSION) WHICH WOULD EVENTUALLY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. WE WERE TOLD THAT MOST PEOPLE JUST WANT TO TRY TO TRADE THE CAR IN FOR SOMETHING ELSE. THE SERVICE TECH ADVISED US TO TALK WITH A SALES PERSON. SO WHILE TALKING WITH THE SALES PERSON, SHE TRIED TO GET US INTO A CERTIFIED USED CAR. WE BOUGHT A NEW CAR FOR A REASON, TO NOT END UP WITH SOME ELSE'S PROBLEMS WITH A USED CAR. THEN WE ASK TO SPEAK TO THE MANAGER. HE TOLD US THAT ANY CAR HE PUT US IN WOULD JUST HAVE THE SAME TRANSMISSION AND POSSIBLY THE SAME PROBLEMS. THE MANAGER ACTUALLY TOLD US THAT WE WOULD JUST BE BETTER OFF TRADING IT IN AT ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. WE WENT TO THE SUBARU DEALERSHIP TO SPEAK WITH THEM ABOUT TRADING IT IN AND THEY ONLY WANTED TO OFFER US A TRADE IN VALUE OF $10,000 WHEN WE STILL OWE $15,000. THIS WEEK, WITH STILL 300 MILES TO GO UNTIL MY NEXT OIL CHANGE, MY LOW OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON AND MY CAR TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN A HILL ON A BUSY MAIN ROAD. THE DEALERSHIP IS TELLING ME AGAIN "THIS CAR JUST USES OIL". THEY CONFIRMED I WAS 2.5 QUARTS LOW. WE HAVE 2 RENEGADES IN THE FAMILY, MY DAUGHTER'S 2015 RENEGADE THAT WE BOUGHT IN 2017 WITH ONLY 2500 MILES ON IT DOESN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM. I AM NOW GETTING A SECOND OIL CONSUMPTION TEST RUN. PROCEEDED TO START IT BUT WOULDN'T BUDGE FOR A GOOD 5-10 MIN UNTIL IT FINALLY STARTED BACK UP. IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONNECTED THE DIAGNOSTIC TOOL TO IT AND SAID NOTHING WAS SHOWING UP AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. ABOUT A MONTH LATER, IT HAPPENED AGAIN THE EXACT SAME WAY, TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THIS TIME THEY SAID EVERY POSSIBLE ERROR CODE CAME UP AND WERE BAFFLED. THEY WANTED US TO LEAVE THERE AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 2 WEEKS BEFORE THEY COULD GET TO IT AND DID NOT OFFER A LOANER VEHICLE, WE HAD TO TELL THEM THAT WE NEEDED IT OR A LOANER FOR COMMUTE AND SO WE HAD TO KEEP IT, THEY FINALLY GOT TO IT AND FOUND OUT IT WAS THE ECM MODULE, SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE DRIVETRAIN, THEY REPLACED IT AND IT HASN'T OCCURRED AGAIN. SINCE THEN, WE HAVE NOTICED MORE AND MORE THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SHIFTING VERY HARD MAKING POPPING NOISES AND JERKING. WE FINALLY DECIDED THAT SOMETHING WASNT RIGHT AND TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP WITH A COUPLE OTHER THINGS THAT HAVE GONE WRONG WITH THE CAR. WE HAD TO TAKE IT TWICE FOR THEM TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT WITH THE TRANSMISSION. IT IS NOW SCHEDULED FOR A TOTAL TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT MID AUGUST, AND I THINK IT WAS CAUSED BY ECM MODULE ISSUE WE HAD TO DEAL WITH FOR A FEW MONTHS BEFORE IT WAS TAKEN CARE OF. THE ONLY GOOD PART OF THIS WAS THAT IT WAS IN NEUTRAL - I CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED OF THE TRANSMISSION HAD GOTTEN STUCK IN REVERSE OR DRIVE.

I PURCHASED THIS CAR AFTER OWNING TWO WRANGLER'S, A CHEROKEE AND A PATRIOT. I NOTICED RIGHT AWAY THAT MY TRANSMISSION WOULD LUNGE FORWARD WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SHIFT HARSHLY WHEN SLOWING DOWN IN TRAFFIC THEN APPLYING THE GAS TO GO, THE CAR ALSO HESITATES TO TAKE OFF. I HAVE HAD MANY SCARY SITUATIONS WHERE I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED MANY TIMES BECAUSE OF THE DELAY, I ALSO CAME TO A STOP AT A CROSSWALK AND RIGHT WHEN I WENT TO STOP THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD AND I HIT SOMEONE WALKING IN THE CROSSWALK, I WAS LUCKY THE GUY WAS NOT HURT, I ALSO HAD A TIME WHERE THERE WAS A COUCH IN FRONT OF ME ON THE FREEWAY AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO AVOID IT BECAUSE OF A HESITATION IN THE ENGINE WHERE AT TIMES I AM UNABLE TO ACCELERATE RIGHT AWAY AND THIS COULD CAUSE ME TO GET HIT IF I SWITCH LANES TO QUICKLY, I ENDED UP SLAMMING ON THE BREAKS AND SLIDING INTO THE COUNCH AND CONTACTING 911 TO EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED. THIS TRANSMISSION IS DEFECTIVE AND ALL THE SHOPS DO IS RESET THE TRANSMISSION AND DO A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO THE TRANSMISSION AND THE TCM AND THE PCM ON THE CAR. THE CARS DOOR LOCKS WILL ALSO SOMETIMES BEEP LOUD AND SOMETIMES BEEP SHORT LIKE SOMETHING IS WRONG AND A GOOD PORTION OF THE TIME THE CAR WILL NOT LOCK. I ALSO HAVE A WEIRD VIBRATION COMING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR AND THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY TESTED IT AGAINST A CHEROKEE AND IT'S THE SAME BUT I HAVE A RENEGADE SO I HAVE IN WRITING THEY TESTED THE WRONG MODEL CAR. THIS CAR HAS HAD SO MANY ISSUES AND I REALLY FEEL UNSAFE, I HAVE ALREADY TAKEN THE CAR IN 5 TIMES AND THEY DON'T REALLY DO ANYTHING. I WILL BE TAKING IT IN TO GET MY AC KNOB REPLACED BECAUSE IT HAS A SHARP EDGE AND I KEEP GETTING CUT. I DON'T THINK BEING TOLD THE HARSH SHIFTING IS NORMAL IS RIGHT, I FEEL LIKE I AM DRIVING A MANUAL TRANSMISSION BECAUSE OF THE WEIRD SHIFTS THIS TRANSMISSION DOES.

THE 9-SPEED TRANSMISSION CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO LUNGE FORWARD CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BE UNSAFE. I WOULD HAVE REAR END A DODGE RAM TRUCK AT A STOP LIGHT; IF MY FOOT WAS NOT FIRMLY ON THE BRAKE. THE LUNGING FORWARD, AND HARD SHIFTING HAPPENS RANDOMLY PRIMARILY ON THE DOWNSHIFTING, AND WHEN IT'S COLD OUT. OTHER ISSUES: WHEN USING THE WASHER SOLVENT FLUID THE VAPORS COME BACK THROUGH THE CABIN, MAKING THE CABIN AIR TOXIC TO BREATH. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE ROTOR AND BRAKE PAD HAD TO BE CHANGED; BECAUSE THEY WERE DEEMED DEFECTIVE DUE TO FINDING METAL DEBRIS IN THE BRAKE PAD AT ABOUT 3,100 MILES WHEN I REPORTED THE NOISE AT THE FIRST OIL CHANGE. ELECTRICAL: RANDOMLY THE PUSH START WILL NOT WORK, TURN SIGNAL TURNING RIGHT WILL NOT WORK, AND HEAD LIGHTS WOULD NOT AUTOMATICALLY COME ON. THIS 2017 JEEP RENEGADE LATITUDE 2.4L HAS LESS THAN 6,000 MILES. THE TRANSMISSION, WASHER SOLVENT, AND BRAKES STARTED BEFORE THE FIRST OIL CHANGE AT 3,118 MILES; HOWEVER, THE WASHER SOLVENT WAS NOT REPORT UNTIL LATER WHEN I FOUND OUT IT IS TOXIC, AND I ONLY USED IT ABOUT 3-TIMES, AND TURNED THE AIR OFF EACH TIME. ALL DEEMED UNABLE TO DUPLICATE EXCEPT FOR ONE TIME OR NORMAL FOR THE WASHER SOLVENT ISSUE.

FIRST SERVICE VISIT I WAS TOLD IT WAS JUST IN NEED OF A COMPUTER REST. SECOND VISIT THEY SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. THIRD VISIT THEY INITIALLY SAID IT NEEDED A SOFTWARE UPGRADE UNTIL I INSISTED IT WAS SERIOUS AND CONTACTED CORPORATE. NOT ONLY WAS I TREATED POORLY BUT I WAS BLOCKED FROM LEAVING A REVIEW. IT WAS MENTIONED THAT ENGINEERS CURRENTLY KNOW THERE IS AN ISSUE BUT ARE WAITING UNTIL SECOND QUARTER TO PUBLISH IT. I BELIEVE THIS IS EXTREMELY NEGLIGENT BECAUSE IT ISN'T JUST A FAULTY SENSOR LIGHT, THE ENTIRE VEHICLE NEARLY DIES WHILE DRIVING ON A FREEWAY, CREATING A RISK FOR A FATAL ACCIDENT. I DEMANDED RECORDS OF ALL THAT HAS BEEN DONE TO THIS BRAND NEW AUTO, SINCE ISSUES FIRST AROSE ON 12/9/1027. FROM 12/9/2017-3/38/2018, I HAVE HAD MY CAR AT THE SERVICE CENTER THREE TIMES. AND I JUST FOUND THE SAFETY RECALL ONLINE, I HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED BY JEEP OR THE DEALERSHIP YET AS TO THIS RECALL PERTAINING TO FAULTY SENSOR ALERTS. I AM UNABLE TO SELECT FROM THE ABOVE LIST BUT "WHEELS' AND "ELEC STABILITY CONTROL" WERE ALSO AFFECTED.

AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE I HAVE FOUND THAT A RECALL HAS BEGAN CALLED T50- INCORRECT SOFTWARE COMBINATION/FMVSS101-2017 JEEP RENEGADE WITH AN ISSUES OF FAULTY CIRCUIT PANELS HAVING MULTIPLE INDICATOR LIGHTS LIGHTING UP DEEMING IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE SINCE THE DRIVER WOULD NOT ACTUALLY KNOW WHEN THEY ARE TRUELY AT RISK AND COULD BE INVOKED IN AN ACCIDENT. MY JEEP AS OF YET IS NOT SHOWING UP IN THE RECALL PER MY VIN# YET I AM SUFFERING FROM THE SAME ISSUES AS THE RECALL. MY MANUAL STATES TO NOT DRIVE MY VEHICLE WHILE THESE INDICATOR LIGHTS ARE ON BUT MY DEALER HAS ADVISED ME TO DRIVE IT ANYWAY. AFTER MORE THAN AN HOUR, WE ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE BACK UP THE MOUNTAIN AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED , BUT WE DIDN'T GET AS FAR THE SECOND TIME. WE WERE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND DECIDED TO DRIVE HOME BACK TO EL PASO. TOOK IT TO SUNLAND PARK JEEP THE NEXT DAY. THEY CALLED YESTERDAY AND SAID THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG, NO ERROR CODES APPEAR. THEY WERE TOLD BY CORPORATE JEEP TO ADD TWO UPDATES TO THE SOFTWARE. THEY DROVE IT ON TRANSMOUNTAIN RD. WHICH IT HAS ALWAYS DRIVEN VERY WELL ON BEFORE, SINCE IT IS NOT AS STEEP AS THE MOUNTAIN WE HAD TROUBLE ON. WE WILL BE PICKING UP THE JEEP TODAY BUT ARE VERY WORRIED SINCE WE FEEL IT IS DANGEROUS TO STALL IN TRAFFIC. WE BOUGHT THIS JEEP BRAND NEW WITH 12 MILES ON IT FOR OUR TEENAGE DAUGHTER'S BIRTHDAY AND WE ARE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE HAVING HER DRIVE IT. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!

IT STALLED ABOUT 5 TIMES UNTIL WE COULD EXIT TO A GAS STATION (~5MILES AWAY) TO EXCHANGE FOR ANOTHER RENTAL CAR. THE CAR HAS ABOUT ~10K MILES ON IT. THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS 105 DEGREES.

THIS U-TURN WAS NOT AS ACCELERATED SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 10-15 MPH, WAS ON DRY PAVED ASPHALT. I CHALKED IT UP FOR WHAT I WAS HOPING TO BE A ONE TIME OFFENSE. HOWEVER, IT HAS NOW HAPPENED ONCE AGAIN ON DRY PAVED ROADS ON A CLEAR DAY. THIS TIME I NOTICED THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WENT CRAZY, JUST BLINKING AWAY. THE RENEGADE ROLLED A FOOT OR SO BECAUSE I WAS ONLY GOING 5 MPH DURING THIS U-TURN WHEN THE RENEGADE LOST POWER. AFTER SOME RESEARCH IT SEEMS THE RENEGADE ON-BOARD COMPUTER MUST THINK THE JEEP IS TIPPING AND AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION CUTS POWER TO THE VEHICLE TO PREVENT A ROLLOVER. I'M NO EXPERT, BUT I'M PRETTY POSITIVE A VEHICLE DOES NOT TIP IN THE MIDDLE OF A U-TURN, ON DRY PAVEMENT, AND GOING 5 MPH. I HAVE A FAMILY, A 18 MONTH OLD AND A PREGNANT WIFE. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE PUTTING MY FAMILY IN THIS BRAND NEW VEHICLE. I DON'T EVEN FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS ANYMORE. WHO KNOWS WHEN IT WILL DECIDE TO LOSE POWER AGAIN AND GET ME OR MY FAMILY SEVERELY INJURED OR WORSE. CHRYSLER NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS.
