While driving the moving vehicle on 3 occasions my vehicle has stalled out with me driving it, however there is a recall online for the same year, make and model of my vehicle for the same exact problems I am experiencing and I am being told that there are no recalls for my VIN. This is a problem since (let me repeat myself) online a recall for same year, make and model experiencing the exact problems with vehicle stalling and shutting off while driving. This is a serious issue and I keep getting the run around from Jeep corporation not insuring the safety of their vehicles and the people that own them.

About a month ago, I started noticing that my radio was making strange beeping sounds. Of course I’ve got the display, and I immediately noticed that those beeps were being caused by, what looked like an invisible person touching my screen. At first, it just was a nuisance, but quickly escalated to a radio and display screen that is completely unusable. . It didn’t matter whether my phone was Bluetoothed to it or not, it’s a complete mess and won’t stay anywhere for more than a second. Today It interferes with my rear facing camera, not allowing you to turn on Sometimes it does not even come on. I’ve been reading that a lot of Jeep Renegade owners in this 2018 time period are having this problem and, in my opinion, this should be a recall item. Absolutely because to fix it. “go from $1500-$2500.

Tried to turn on car and Jeep ECU started misfiring. I got the part replaced twice and it still did not work. Just stalled and engine refused to turn over. Was told it also was having fuel system problems.

The UConnect / touch screen display is constantly glitching- I can’t see anything other than striped lines and colors and/or a pitch black screen. I cannot use the rearview camera because of this, which creates a safety concern when backing up/reversing due to limited visibility without the rear view camera function. This problem has occurred with many other owners of the same vehicle (see posts online). The vehicle hasn’t been inspected but others had theirs inspected and claimed they were quoted $1,500+ for the screen repair, and even after repair, the screen malfunctioned again in a few weeks. The first sign of the issue was when I saw a thin, vertical green line through my touch screen, but it didn’t affect the visibility or usability of the screen so I thought nothing of it.

The contact stated that the AC/Heating System, defroster, Bluetooth, and several other systems occasionally activated without driver intent. The dealer was informed of the failures; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 62,202.

Unknown. Bought a 2018 Jeep Renegade, brand new and about 4-5 months ago, the screen started glitching. Sometimes, it only shows 1/3 of the screen, and there is a constant beeping as the screen switches between apps and stations. In other words, the screen is faulty, and it sometimes affects the reading of the digital speedometer. My car has only about 84k miles. I understand many others are experiencing similar issues with their 2018 Jeep Renegade.

Stereo Head Unit screen went black. It started "glitchy" with streaks but eventually went black. No use of the rear back up camera or any functions on the head unit... climate control, radio, setting, etc. I have seen online that this is common and I do not think it is right for a consumer to spend well over a 1000 to replace it. This is not a "wear" part. Disapointed in the quality of components in my Renegade.

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving approximately 65 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the daughter reported that the failure was abrupt and there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V524000(Electrical System), however the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was unknown.

The information screen, which displays the backup camera and everything else that the car does, from radio to climate control, glitches and then goes black. From what I’ve seen on the internet, this is a widespread problem and, since it deals with the backup camera, is directly safety related.

Driver side rear tail light assembly ground wire burned up and caused the tail light assembly to stop working. Replaced tail light assembly and wiring harness. This is a common failure on the jeep renegades and should be recalled due to safety.

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that after his daughter had driven the vehicle, parked, and powered off, 7 hours later, the interior passenger side panel of the door was engulfed in flames, which had by that time blackened the glass. The driver's boyfriend witnessed the flames originating from the glove compartment and attempted to extinguish the fire by hand, which failed but resulted in him sustaining injury to his right hand. The boyfriend was eventually able to extinguish the flames by disconnecting the battery. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard but had yet to be deemed a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. A fire report was not filed. A police report was not filed, but injuries were reported. The driver's boyfriend later transported himself to an area hospital and was treated for minor burns to his right hand. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was informed that the manufacturer intended to send an investigator to inspect the vehicle at the tow yard. The contact was later informed that a manufacturing defect was not deemed the cause of the fire and that he would receive no further assistance. The failure mileage was 47,000.

After purchasing a new battery due to multiple issues with a drained battery, when trying to jump the new battery the jeep would not take a jump. The lights came on and indicated multiple issues and the steering wheel became immovable. The jeep will not start and each time if left hooked up will drain fully charged battery.

The entire radio system begins to get white ghost lines which affects the rear back-up camera and rear safety systems, and it also affects the parking brakes when the vehicle is in park or stopped. The use of the radio system is required to do basic maintenance on the vehicle such as brake changes.

The screen started to glitch out for periods at a time. Now it is just black and nothing works on it now, including the backup camera (safety issue). The seat warmers and steering wheel warmer is on but now there’s no way to turn them off. The amount of people that complain of the same issues online is insane, this needs to be recalled.

The automobile will shut off during driving. On three separate occasions while driving the automobile has lost all drivability. The first occasion I was leaving work (01/02/2025) and as I went to accelerate on to the road from a dead stop, the engine shut off. I had to place the car back in park and depress the brake to start the engine again (by depressing the start engine button). The second occasion happened as I was entering the expressway (01/07/2025). I was turning off the main road onto the onramp of the expressway when the engine shut off again. This time I was accelerating up to around 40 mph when the engine shut off. Luckily, I was able to coast to a stop in the emergency lane. The steering locked up due to the engine shut down so I was not able to restart the car until putting it back in park to start the whole start sequence. The third occasion happened today (01/16/2025) as I was leaving school. I was leaving the parking lot when I went to accelerate from a stop the engine shut off again.

The touch screen has been an issue It does not come on. It his controls the heated steering wheel and cannot be shut off which then over eats and makes it impossible to touch. The screen controls the heated seats and the heat in general.

My Jeep has incredibly high oil consumption. I am putting a quart of oil in every two weeks even after an oil change. My car also stalls intermittently, it has even turned completely off on the freeway. The electrical in my car goes in and out and my display for my radio is completely blacked out.

Original U Connect system screen delamination! This is a big problem for many users on jeep models 2018! Because of this the system makes random calls from my contacts well I’m driving! I am driving 30 miles a day on the highway and this is becoming a safety issue! Like me many people are waiting for a recall but nothing is coming since 2018!!! Very dangerous when I am driving with my GPS on and the radio calls people randomly and I have to hangs up on people every 5 seconds and then my contacts call me back and have to explain my situation! This is unacceptable! Please help us 🇺🇸

My speedometer will change from MPH to KM on its own while i am driving. It will also keep changing back and forth making it a driver distraction. My dash screen is also going bad. I will definitely take it in for an inspection. I pulled into a rest area to assess what was going on with the electrical problem. There were not any warnings at all. It just happened so I have not informed anyone yet.

The uconnect screen for the instrument controls and back up camera is partially blank. Had the uconnect replaced 3 years ago under extended warranty. This is the 2nd uconnect to go bad.

The LED screen went out and I cannot access any of the controls. Someone tapped my screen when it was blacked out/not working and now my audio only comes out of the back left speaker and the bass is up so high I can barely listen to music. It needs replaced, this is a distracted driving hazard, I’m shocked there is not a recall after seeing multiple message boards that it is an issue with many of these models. However not surprising since JEEP is cheap and I will never be purchasing one again.

My screen is not visible. Which doesnt allow me to use camera to reverse or backup with visibly seeing what behind through screen, which causes to be a hazard. Replacing will cause me tons of money that i dont have. Which mechanic stated there has been many jeeps that has had same problem.

Radio has backup that went black. Cost is $1,200-$2,000 to get the radio fix. The map feature doesn’t work. Backup feature doesn’t work. I can’t adjust radio stations. I live in rural TN and need my radio to work for my protection. I live on social security. That would be my whole month paycheck. It should be covered.

The screen in the car has completely blacked out on me. Once in a blue moon it might come on but within 5 minutes it has lines running down the screen and eventually goes black. This leaves me without navigation leaving me to have to resort looking at my phone which is a much smaller screen. But the biggest thing is this leaves me without my backup camera. I have looked throughly online with so many other renegade owners having the same issue with no other resolution from dealerships other then complete replacement of the unit. Again I've seen 100s of forums or reddit post about this exact issue with 100s more people chiming in saying they have this exact issue.

in less than 50,000 miles my screen/radio unit that controls many features of the vehicle including heat/ac, rear camera view and radio/navigation tools, has stopped working completely. I'm seeing so many people having the same exact issue. Jeep would not help me with this issue without me paying a huge service fee to even confirm that it is broken.

UNKNOWN Running lights and blinkers. Continually replace bulbs and either burn out black or just stop working. Possible wiring /electrical issues? Dashboard computer works at random. Ongoing for about a year. Last 3 months the dashboard lightning bolt light flashes along with the service engine light. it will lose power to move forward while in motion and at times loses steering power as well. Speed doesn't seem to matter. Can be going 65 mph or 25 mph and happens at random. Usually flashing bolt light disappears after vehicle is turned off and restarted but service engine light remains on for a few days but then disappears after that. Vehicle has been brought in to be repaired and diagnosed several times at different locations but since the warning lights on the dash disappear, the scan device doesn't detect an issue. Ongoing malfunction is potentially dangerous and very frightening despite how fast the vehicle is moving. Not sure how to move forward with resolution when nobody seems to find what is wrong with it? Money continually spent on trying to diagnose without resolution is frustrating and not knowing details puts others at risk as well. No active RECALLS and have not found or any prior RECALLS that would explain. Light issues are inconvenient but mentioned in the chance they are a component of the source of bigger issues that may include electrical , powertrain, etc.... *Dashboard warning lights along with loss of driving power has happened on multiple different occasions. in ADDITIONAL DETAILS BELOW I will record most current episode.

The rear view camera was glitchy for a few years until finally becoming completely disabled due to the car play system malfunctioning. I have blind spots on each side of the back of my car that do not allow me to check for oncoming traffic when backing out. This also includes looking out for pedestrians. It has come to my attention that this may be a manufacturing issue as multiple clients have complained about similar issues.

Engine stall. The first time it happened I was going about 35 mph down the street and the car quit accelerating. Engine still running all the lights on did not notice any warning lights. Coasted into a parking lot. Turned off car and restarted and drove 1/2 block home. Read online to start car in auxiliary mode three or five times. Did that and did not have a problem. About 3 or so weeks later, it happened on the highway and almost caused a wreck. Very scary! I got to the side of the road 3 times. Restarted and barely would start driving and it would happen again. Had car towed to dealership and started claim with Jeep. They can not duplicate the problem and find no codes. Other issues: passenger car entry warning, head module? Or display will call people randomly, change radio stations and the reverse camera will come on while I'm driving, needs new struts ( only drive highway and in town ), uneven tire wear, auto windshield wipers does not work. Slow to shift out of first gear and jolts car when it shifts. Been at dealership for 3 weeks +

Since I’ve owned the car. When we go above 70 on highways with cruise control and a/c on the car will randomly turn off and the speedometer will say I am going 0 miles an hour. This has happened 5 times, everytime we go on vacation. And everytime the dealership states they can not mimic the symptoms. So it never gets fixed. Read about a power trans chip that’s faulty. Should be my vehicle included in that problem.

My 2018 Jeep renegade touchscreen began delaminating and is causing the touchscreen to malfunction, hitting many buttons and eventually just shutting off completely while driving. I live in Florida and the summer temperatures range from the 90s-mid hundreds and it is not safe to drive a vehicle where the electrical systems are erratic and shut off and then turn on again on their own.

the screen in the center console has been in the process of delaminating and has recently become un-usable. If turned on, the effect of delamination (separation of the glue between the LCD and digitizer) results in pushed buttons, unintentional phone calls, and unwanted setting changes. This is disruptive while driving and unsafe since the center console controls a number of functions inside the car.

The screen goes out when it’s warm outside (80 degrees or more), which means I can’t use the backup camera at all or easily see a map if I’m traveling. This is an ongoing issue.

The vehicle has stopped running while driving. It turns off and the gas gauge will show E (there is a full tank) and the battery will die- it is brand new and it was tested when this happened. The codes are saying it’s the PCM- it hasn’t ran properly without a jump in months. And it will idol super high, over heat and scare everyone in the car. Had it towed and checked AGAIN. And everything was fine. (Note that the entire engine was replaced the year I got it by my dealership for the recall on the engine going through all oil in less than a month) I know I am not the only person who had had this issue with this specific vehicle. I’m still paying on it!! I have children to Think about. And at 700+$ payment monthly I shouldn’t have this issue. This vehicle has been nothing but trouble and the dealership gives me a hard time when I’ve called for help with it. The warranty ran up that I paid extra for. Isn’t that ironic.

There is a known problem (many online forums discuss this) with the 2018 Jeep renegade display system. The screen has issues that starts out with de-lamination and eventually escalates into the screen malfunctioning. This is extremely dangerous as the screen starts randomly selecting items. I.e. music stations start changing, gps is no longer available, heating settings change, and if CarPlay is used it starts making random calls. This is very distracting to the driver and is known issue with Jeep specific to the 2018 Jeep renegade model.

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated that the check engine light had initially appeared on the instrument panel as the dynamic steering torque service, Service ESC system, Service HiIl-Start and the Traction Control warning lights would all appeared on the instrument panel. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, a hissing sound would emit from the brake pedal as the pedal became firm and difficult to depress. In addition, the contact also stated that the steering wheel was loose while both idle and when steered. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was made to have it serviced. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

I was made aware that my car has a recall alert. It is a W20 recall, the PCM needs reprogrammed. I contacted Krebs Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM and was told the first available appointment is on May 31, 2023. I requested a loaner car that I could use until the recall problem was resolved. I stated my car stalled twice on a major highway and that I was currently pulled over in a parking lot. My request for a loaner car was denied as was my request to be towed the 2.4 miles to Krebs Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM without charge. I was informed that the reason behind these denials was that my car is “drivable.” Driving this car as is puts me and the rest of the drivers on the road in extreme jeopardy, possibly even of a life threatening situation.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the computer was replaced; however, the failure persisted. On another occasion, while starting the vehicle, the contact smelled an abnormal odor inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but no cause for the issue was found. The contact also stated that the trunk would independently open. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and no cause for the failure was found. The manufacturer was not contacted. The rear tail light, backup light, and blinker have simultaneously quit working. After inspecting further, the connection from the electrical wiring has burned the ground connection on the rear lamp housing. The ground wire also looks to be burned.

Before the first oil change was due on my vehicle, the engine stalled. I took it to the nearest mechanic shop where I learned that all of the oil had been burned. I later learned that these models are notorious for this issue. My engine has stalled on me more times than I can count. Chrysler refuses to acknowledge the oil consumption problem after their 1500-1700 miles driven "tests". I have requested several times that they check oil levels between 2000-4000 miles driven as that is where the problem lies. They have ignored all requests. After sending emails to CEO's of mother companies and daughter companies, they are finally going to replace the long block on my engine. I have been fighting these issues for many years to no avail. They refuse to provide a loaner vehicle while this is being done. My car has stopped on me while driving. This is going to result is deaths if someone doesn't hold them accountable for a problem they are well aware of! This is not the only issue my vehicle has. There are several electrical issues as well.

Vehicle suddenly powers down with no warning lights. This happened in traffic. Upon pulling over, turning off and restarting the vehicle, it was fine. It happened again a half hour later. Dealership could not identify the problem. Car was fine for more than a week, then happened again. It seems to be a common problem per internet search for this model.

The touch screen in my vehicle is delaminating from the top down. The delamination has been reported as a common manufacturer malfunction in this type of vehicle, and has been reported to become unresponsive or have "dead areas" in the screen that do not respond to touch. From my understanding and research, the screen will only continue to worsen from this delamination. I took my vehicle to my local Jeep dealership for inspection, and the cost to replace this defective screen is nearly $2000.00. I then called FCA Customer Care and they will not repair or replace it for me since I am not the original owner of the vehicle. Defects like this should be recalled due to the fact that it is widely reported in many Jeep vehicles.

While going down the highway, the jeep shut down/locked up. The engine was still running, but wouldn't let me turn it off or run anything electrical. Every service light possible came on. In order to get it to turn off, we had to turn off the computer. After that, it had no power whatsoever. The key light was showing. Luckily, I was able to pull over before getting hit. I had both of my kids in the car. I've seen where other people have had this happen. Why has it not been recalled. We're still waiting to find out what the issue is but the mechanic shop is behind due to workers being out with Covid.

The contact owned a 2018 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, she smelled a burning odor and noticed dark smoke coming from underneath the hood of the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that as she opened the driver’s side door to exit the vehicle, the engine exploded, and the hood opened and caught on fire. The contact was able to extinguish the fire with assistance. The contact sustained an injury to the ankle but did not seek medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot and deemed a total loss. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 57,400.

The Renegade touch screen radio that is used for all controls including seat warmers, climate control, rear back up camera, gps ect has had many cases of the factory issued radio screens delaminating causing it to make SOS emergency calls and switching through different touch screen controls due to the delamination of the radio screen at no fault of our own … Tolers Jeep in Morehead City NC has confirmed they have had to replace many radios due to this issue but hasn’t issued any recall for this safety issue on this model… I have now had to resort to keeping the radio turned off to avoid unwanted SOS calls to the local police department and malfunction of the touch screen controls

The engine suddenly shut-off while operating. The engine would not restart. There is a potential risk of causing an serious accident on the road. On the dashboard the key symbol light is on. On Tuesday of this week when called Chrysler's Customer Service and was informed that symbol is error is for the Passive Entry System. This error message prevent the engine from restart. The vehicle was towed to the nearest Jeep Chrysler dealership. Now, 2 days later there is no recall on the passive entry system and now the vehicle needs over $1600 worth of service repairs. They never address why the key symbol is on the car. appears that their an an issue with this and a recall is in order. Also, it may be the recall from 2018 # U87 with the circuit board and electrical.

IT SEEMED LIKE ALL POWER WAS LOST TO THE CAR. NO LIGHTS WOULD COME ON INSIDE EITHER. IT JUST WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING AT ALL WHEN TRYING TO START IT. THE 15 FUSE WAS REPLACED IN THE DASH BOX, AND IT THEN STARTED FINE AGAIN. THAT LASTED FOR A COUPLE MONTHS. THEN A FEW WEEKS AGO NOW (8/8/20) MY CAR WOULDN'T START IN THE DRIVEWAY. AGAIN, NO POWER TO IT, NO LIGHTS OR ANYTHING. THE SAME FUSE WAS BLOWN, SO IT WAS REPLACED AGAIN. MY CAR STILL WOULDN'T START. I JUMPED IT OFF WITH JUMPER CABLES, IT STARTED FINE. THE FIRST TIME THE DTR WENT OUT THE LIGHTBULB WAS CHANGED AND THE METAL ON THE BASE OF THE LIGHTBULB WAS MELTED OFF.( I DO NOT HAVE PICTURES OF IT THE DEALERSHIP TOOK IT WHEN I SHOWED THEM) I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER THE SECOND TIME THE LIGHT KEPT GOING ON AND OFF. THEY CHECKED THE VEHICLE AND SAID THE RESISTANCE WAS TOO HIGH AND THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHY. THEREFORE I HAD TO WAIT ON PARTS TO CHANGE THE WIRING AND SOCKETS FOR THE DTRS. PURCHASED VEHICLE IN MARCH, WENT TO HAVE FIRST OIL CHANGE DONE AND THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE OIL CONSUMPTION. THE DEALERSHIP HAD ME COME IN EVERY 1000 MILES AND AFTER THE 3RD TIME THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE PROBLEM WASN'T GETTING BETTER AND THEY WOULD NEED TO REPLACE MY ENGINE. SO AT 3000 MILES I HAD TO GET MY ENGINE REPLACEMENT. THE DAY I PICKED MY VEHICLE UP FROM THE SERVICE SHOP WHILE DRIVING DOING 40 MPH THE CAR SEIZED UP ON ME AND I HAD TO MAKE MY WAY TO SAFETY AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. I INFORMED MY CASE MANAGER AND WAS TOLD IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN TAKE IT INTO THE SHOP. MONTH LATER ON MY WAY HOME WITH THE KIDS IN THE JEEP DOING 50 MPH THE VEHICLE SEIZED UP AGAIN AND I HAD TO PULL OFF TO SAFETY AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. I TOOK THE JEEP IN TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT SAME DAY. 4 DAYS LATER THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY FIXED IT AND I COULD COME PICK IT. ON SUNDAY, JULY 21ST I WAS HEADING OUT OF TOWN ON THE HIGHWAY DOING 70 MPH AND THE VEHICLE SEIZED UP ON ME. WENT FROM 70 MPH TO 44 MPH WHICH ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THERE WAS 7 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND CONSTRUCTION GOING ON WHICH MADE IT HARD TO GET OFF TO THE SIDE. AFTER THAT IT TOOK ME 15 MINUTES TO GET BACK ON THE HWY AND WORK MY WAY ACROSS 7 LINES OF TRAFFIC. ONCE I MADE IT TO THE RIGHT LANE I HEARD A THUMP AND MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT EXCEL FASTER THAN 30 MPH. I FINALLY MADE IT OFF THE HWY AND WHILE SITTING AT THE LIGHT THE VEHICLE SEIZED UP AGAIN AND I HAD TO RESTART IT 3 TIMES TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE LIGHT.

BOUGHT MY JEEP BRAND NEW IN JUNE 2018. WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH, THE USB PORT THAT CONNECTS TO CAR PLAY WOULD CONNECT THEN DISCONNECT WHEN IT RAINED. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T IDENTIFY THE ISSUE UNLESS I BROUGHT IT IS WHEN THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AND SHOWED THEM. WHICH I COULDN'T BECAUSE THEY WERE ALWAYS CLOSED WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED. WITHIN THAT SAME MONTH, WHEN I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES IT SOUNDED LIKE THERE WAS AIR IN THE BRAKE LINE. EVERY SO OFTEN, THE SATELLITE RADIO WILL CUT OUT AND SAY "ACQUIRING SIGNAL". CAR HAS ALSO STALLED OUT ON ME 3 TIMES WHILE DRIVING. TWICE BEFOREHAND, WHEN I MADE A SHARP RIGHT TURN, THE OIL LIGHT WOULD POP ON FOR LITERALLY 2 SECONDS AND GO OFF. CAR WOULD STALL OUT AND WHEN I CHECKED THE DIP STICK, IT SHOWED I HAD BARELY ANY OIL. MANUAL SAYS EVERY 6000 MILES. OIL RUNS OUT BEFORE THE 6000 MILE MARK.IF I KNEW I'D BE PAYING OUT SO MUCH IN OIL , I WOULDN'T HAVE PAID SO MUCH FOR THIS STUPID TRUCK. ITS A COMPLETE RIP OFF. ONE OF THE TIMES IT STALLED OUT, I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. IT STALLED OUT JUST AS I WAS TURNING AND A CAR WAS COMING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION AND ALMOST HIT ME. I DID THE SAME STEPS AS I DID BEFORE SO I WAS ABLE TO GET TO A PARKING LOT AND I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO HENDRICK IN CONCORD THEY WERE OUT OF CARS HE SUGGESTED THAT I COULD COME GET MY CAR BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG, I TOLD HIM WHY WOULD I DRIVE A CAR THAT KEEPS CUTTING OFF THAT'S A DANGER TO ME AND OTHER PEOPLE ON THE ROAD. NEXT DAY I HAD MY CAR TOWED AGAIN TO KEFFER IN CHARLOTTE BECAUSE THE GUY TOLD ME THEY WOULD PUT ME IN A CAR AND I EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT I CAN NO RENT FROM ENTERPRISE I SPENT $27 ON LYFT TO GET THERE AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE CARS I SAT THERE FOR ABOUT 5 HRS AND STILL ENDED UP GOING HOME WITH NO VEHICLE I HAD TO MISS A DAY OF WORK AND THEN I AM GOING TO MISS ANOTHER DAY BECAUSE THEY HAVE MY VEHICLE AND DID NOT PUT ME IN A VEHICLE AND DID NOT WANT TO OWN UP TO THE FACT THAT THERE EMPLOYEE GAVE ME FALSE INFORMATION IT SEEMED LIKE EVERYONE I SPOKE TO BLEW ME OFF AND DIDN'T CARE. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM THEM FOR ABOUT $24,000. I FEED HEARING SOMETHING IN MY AIR FOR MONTHS AND KEPT TAKING THE CAR BACK AND THEY KEPT SAYING THEY FIXED IT AND I KEPT HEARING AND I ALSO NOTIFIED THEM ABOUT MY CAR NOT PICKING UP SPEED AND BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY CODES THEY COULDN'T FIGURE IT OUT. I HAD HAVE ALMOST GOTTEN HIT FROM BEHIND 3 TIMES BECAUSE MY CALL WAS NOT PICKING UP SPEED WHEN I WOULD SWITCH LANES I COULD BE GOING 70 ON 485 AND MY CAR FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING 20 AND DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO PRESS THE ISSUE. I WAS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED AS THAT VEHICLE HAD ISSUES FROM DAY ONE AND DEALER COULDN'T FIX THEM. NO OFFER FROM DEALERSHIP TO ALLOW ME TO RETURN IT. SO OUT OF FRUSTRATION I TRADED IT IN FOR A MUCH HIGHER COST VEHICLE IN HOPES THE ISSUES WOULD BE GONE WITH A BRAND NEW VEHICLE OF A HIGHER PRICE AND PACKAGE. NOT SO! FROM THE FIRST DAY ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO I STARTED EXPERIENCING SERIOUS PROBLEMS. EVERYTIME I USE THE REMOTE STARTER THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF WHETHER I TOUCH THE DOOR HANDLE, UNLOCK VEHICLE WITH REMOTE, OPEN DOOR OR ENTER VEHICLE IF THE FIRST THREE METHODS DIDN'T SHUT IT DOWN. IN ADDITION THE UCONNECT 4 W/7" DISPLAY STARTED LOCKING A WEEK AGO AND WOULD NOT LET ME TURN IT OFF, CHANGE TEMPERATURE INSIDE VEHICLE, EVEN LOCKED OUT THE MANUAL CONTROLS OF HEATER/AC TEMPS,FAN COULD NOT BE CHANGED, RADIO STOPPED PLAYING. NO MATTER WHAT I TRIED NOTHING WORKED. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND SHUT VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART. WITHIN A MILE DOWN THE ROAD IT LOCKED UP AGAIN AND THIS TIME SAME PROBLEMS WITH NON REPSONSIVE CONTROLS AS WELL AS THE VIDEO DISPLAY BEGAN FLICKERING IN LOWER LEFT HAND OF SCREEN. I WAITED TILL I GOT TO MY DESTINATION AND SHUT VEHICLE OFF. WHEN I CAME OUT TO LEAVE IT WAS SOMEWHAT WORKING AGAIN. PRIOR TO THIS ISSUE WITH UCONNECT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TO DEALERSHIP TWICE. FIRST TIME THEY CLAIMED THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE 2ND TIME I WAS TOLD THE REMOTE STARTER WAS A KNOWN ISSUE SINCE 4/2018 WITH NO KNOWN REMEDY AND THE RADIO UCONNECT SYSTEM WAS DEFECTIVE AND A NEW RADIO WAS ORDERED BUT WAS BACKORDERED WITH NO KNOWN DATE OF AVAILABILITY. SO I HAVE A VERY EXPENSIVE VEHICLE WITH JUST OVER 1,000 MILES WITH SERIOUS AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ISSUES WITH IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. I WAS LISTENING TO MUSIC WHILE ON MY BREAK WHEN I GOT A WARNING THAT THE AIR BAGS NEEDED TO BE SERVICED. THEN IT CYCLED THROUGH ALL THE COMPONENTS TELLING ME EVERYTHING NEEDED TO BE SERVICED. THE RADIO SHUT OFF. THE COOLANT WENT TO HIGH THEN BACK DOWN TO LOW. THE FUEL SAID IT NEEDED TO BE SHUT OFF. THE WINDOWS WOULD NOT WORK. THE KEY FOB WOULD NOT WORK. I COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO START OR SHUT THE LIGHTS OFF. I COULD NOT GET THE CAR OUT OF GEAR. IT WAS SITTING IN A PARKING LOT. THEN EVERYTHING WENT DARK EXCEPT THE PARKING LIGHTS. THIS CAR IS ONLY THREE MONTHS OLD. AND HAS 1100 MILES ON IT. I HAD A PREVIOUS PROBLEM WITH IT LOSING POWER WHILE I WAS DRIVING.

I PURCHASED MY 2018 JEEP RENEGADE MAY 29, 2018 AT THE DODGE, THOMPSON, CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP IN BALTIMORE, MD 21224. ON DECEMBER 9,2018 IN THE EARLY MORNING MY VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE. LUCKILY ME AND MY TWO YOUNG SONS WERE NOT IN THE VEHICLE WHEN THE FIRE IGNITED. THE FIRE ENDED UP SMOLDERING FROM LACK OF OXYGEN BECAUSE MY WINDOWS AND DOORS WERE SHUT AN LOCKED. I CONTACTED THE CHRYSLER MANUFACTURE AND AN INVESTIGATION IS BEING DONE. THE FIREMAN THAT CAME SAID IT LOOKS LIKE AN ELECTRICAL FIRE DUE TO FAULTY WIRING.

2018 JEEP RENEGADE THAT IS ONLY 8 MONTHS OLD WAS PARKED ALONG A STREET IN BLACKSBURG, VA AT NIGHT. THE CAR HAD BEEN PARKED FOR AT LEAST 1 HOUR, MAYBE A BIT LONGER. IT CAUGHT FIRE ON 11/9/18 WHILE OUR SON WAS INSIDE HIS FRIEND'S APARTMENT. SOMEONE NOTICED IT AND ALERTED HIM. THE SMOKE FROM THE FIRE WAS BLACK AND HAD THE SMELL OF AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. CAR WAS TOWED TO A DEALER IN CHRISTIANSBURG, VA WHERE IT IS NOW. THE DEALER IS SAYING THE FIRE PROBABLY STARTED FROM LEAVES IN THE UNDERCARRIAGE IN THE ARE WHERE THE MANIFOLD MEETS THE EXHAUST THEN TRAVELED TO THE UNDERHOOD AREA. PURCHASED VEHICLE NEW FROM DEALER STOCK IN PATCHOGUE, NY, WITH TRAILHAWK TRIM. HAD IT A LITTLE OVER A MONTH, AND HAVE LESS THAN 1000 MILES ON IT. WITHIN THE 1ST WEEK THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED AND DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE IT EVEN THOUGH IT HAD A WAVE IN IT AT EYE LEVEL. HAVE SEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS ONLINE. AT SAME TIME, WE NOTICED A PROBLEM WITH CLIMATE CONTROL AND DEALER COULDN'T GET US IN TO LOOK AT IT FOR ABOUT A MONTH. WHAT HAPPENS IS AFTER THE CAR IS SHUT OFF AND TEMP IS LEFT AT SAY 72 IN ALL ZONES, OFTEN WHEN YOU RESTART THE VEHICLE LATER OR THE NEXT DAY IT IS NO LONGER SET TO 72 AND MAY BE BLASTING SUPERHOT AIR AT 90 OR JUMP TO LOW AC OR ANYTHING IN BETWEEN. ITS A COMPLETELY RANDOM TEMPERATURE HAVING NOTHING TO DO WITH OUTSIDE AIR TEMP. ALSO, DOESN'T HAPPEN WITH EVERY RESTART. THIS CAR HAS THE AUTO CLIMATE CONTROL FEATURE TOO, BUT THE ISSUE HAPPENS WHETHER WE LEAVE IT ON AUTO OR MANUAL. WE ALSO CHECKED TO MAKE SURE NO ONE WAS KNOCKING INTO THE CONTROL WITH LEGS OR HANDBAGS ETC. DEALER SERVICE MANAGER SAYS THIS IS "JUST HOW JEEP MANUFACTURED IT", AND "THE JEEP ENGINEERS DELIBERATELY WANT THE TEMPERATURE TO BE RANDOM BECAUSE ITS NOT A PRIORITY". THIS IS MY THIRD CHRYSLER/DODGE/JEEP VEHICLE, AND THE PROBLEM HAS NOT HAPPENED IN EITHER OF THE OTHER TWO, SO THAT IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE JUST A DEALER BEING LAZY AND NOT WANTING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I ALSO CALLED JEEP CUSTOMER CARE AND GOT LITTLE HELP SO FAR. HOWEVER, IT IS CLEAR TO ME NO ENGINEER WOULD EVER DESIGN A CAR TO BE SO DELIBERATELY INCONVENIENT AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS WHERE YOU HAVE TO SPEND THE FIRST FEW MOMENTS IN YOUR CAR FIDDLING WITH DIGITAL TEMPERATURE CONTROLS. EVER CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN STORES YOUR LAST TEMPERATURE AND RESUMES THAT TEMPERATURE WHEN YOU RETURN. DID I MENTION WE ARE EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS VEHICLE AS A RESULT AND HAVE ALREADY TOLD MANY FRIENDS TO AVOID JEEP. TERRIBLE.

ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS POWERED OFF WHILE IN TRAFFIC. ONCE RESTATED, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED A FEW MILES DOWN THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TOWED TO DICK POE CHRYSLER JEEP (LOCATED AT 6501 MONTANA AVE, EL PASO, TX 79925, (915) 778-9331). THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, BUT A FAILURE CODE COULD NOT BE FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,700.

NO RESPONSE. TEXTED AGAIN ON 4/26/18, IPHONE UNSYNCS DURING THE CONVERSATION AND SOUNDS AS THOUGH THE CALLER IS UNDERWATER. SCREEN GOES BLACK WHEN IT RAINS. TOOK THE CAR IN AND THEY RESET THE SYSTEM. 4/30/18 PARKING BRAKE IS A SYSTEM SET THROUGH THE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM. UNCHECKED, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SET ON AUTO ENGAGED. IT UNCHECKED IN THE SETTING AUTOMATICALLY AND BEGAN ROLLING INTO TRAFFIC IN THE PARKING LOT. TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER. MAY 1, 2018 -- REPORTED SCREEN ON THE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM GOING BLACK AGAIN. ONGOING ISSUES AS I WAS OUT OF TOWN. KEPT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ABREAST OF THE SITUATION. REPORT ON 5/21/18 THE STARTUP SEQUENCE ON THE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM GOING HAYWIRE. ODOMETER FLASHING AND LANGUAGE CHANGES ON THIS SYSTEM. IN ADDITION, MILES CHANGES TO KILOMETERS AND FAHRENHEIT CHANGES TO CELSIUS. THE BACKUP CAMERA GOES OUT. MAY 22, 2018 -- PULL UP IN MY DRIVEWAY AND MY CAR IS ATTACHED TO BLUETTOH SETTING ON MY IPHONE. I RECEIVE AN ALERT OF A PARKING LOCATION UPDATE. EVEN THOUGH MY CAR IS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY, I RECEIVE AN ALERT THAT THE CAR IS PARKED 8.3 MILES AWAY, AT THE LOCATION THAT I JUST LEFT. MAY 31, 2018 -- MUSIC IS PLAYING THROUGH THE ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM AND SCREEN IS BLACK. CALLS STILL DISENGAGING ARE SOUNDING AS THOUGH PEOPLE ARE UNDERWATER. BCM MODULE HAS BEEN ORDERED SEVERAL TIMES ALREADY. NONE HAVE WORKED. BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ALMOST DAILY. IN RENTAL SINCE AROUND JULY 2, 2018, UNTIL PRESENT. THE PART ON BACK ORDER. CHRYSLER STAR REPORT MISSING FROM THE SYSTEM, AND THEY REFUSE PAYMENT OR DOWNPAYMENT ASSISTANCE TO SWITCH ME OUT OF A VEHICLE I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE IN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING STRAIGHT AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH ON STATE ROUTE 31 IN LAKEPORT, NY. THE POWER STEERING LOCKED THE STEERING WHEEL IN PLACE AND IT WAS IMMOVEABLE. THE HILL ASSIST NEEDS SERVICE LIGHT APPEARED ALONG WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO TURN AND CAME TO A STOP NEAR THE SHOULDER AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO PULL THE WHEEL.
