While driving the moving vehicle on 3 occasions my vehicle has stalled out with me driving it, however there is a recall online for the same year, make and model of my vehicle for the same exact problems I am experiencing and I am being told that there are no recalls for my VIN. This is a problem since (let me repeat myself) online a recall for same year, make and model experiencing the exact problems with vehicle stalling and shutting off while driving. This is a serious issue and I keep getting the run around from Jeep corporation not insuring the safety of their vehicles and the people that own them.

The contact stated that the daughter reported that the failure was abrupt and there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V524000(Electrical System), however the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was unknown.

Just had the engine replaced for the oil consumption done in 2022. They did not replace the motor mounts at that point. But now they are saying those are leaking and my fuel pump has also gone out.

Specifically, I had an oil change in December 2024 and now in March 2025 I had to add to add 2 quarts and it's just been 3 months and under 1000 miles since the last oil change. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The low oil cause the car to stall sometimes when in a curve and also displays warning on dash to put car in park and restart engine. This is very dangers as we sometimes get stuck in the middle of the road until the car is restarted. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? I have taken it to the Jeep dealership about 2 years ago for this issue, but they claimed it's normal to have to add oil in between oil changes. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? A warning lamp comes on while driving that says to put the car in park and restart the engine. This issue has been occurring on a daily basis. From my research online, it appears this is a known issue with these engines and should have a recall.

Driving on the highway car was starting to loose speed, lights on dash starting to flash I was able to pull off on the side of the road, car stalled and steering wheel locked up. After several minutes it turned on and drove away fine. This is not the first time this has happened. Did oil consumption test several times and stated I’m in the safe zone. This is a severe safety issue but no recalls for my VIN. I saw lots of cars have this same issue with engine stalling.

The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Renegade. The contact stated while driving on the highway at 55 MPH the vehicle started losing automotive power. The contact attempted to depress the accelerator several times; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact parked the vehicle on the side of the highway and used a diagnostic tool to diagnose the vehicle. The contact retrieved DTC: U1428 and D2171. The vehicle was restarted, and the contact was able to continue driving. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The automobile will shut off during driving. On three separate occasions while driving the automobile has lost all drivability. The first occasion I was leaving work (01/02/2025) and as I went to accelerate on to the road from a dead stop, the engine shut off. I had to place the car back in park and depress the brake to start the engine again (by depressing the start engine button). The second occasion happened as I was entering the expressway (01/07/2025). I was turning off the main road onto the onramp of the expressway when the engine shut off again. This time I was accelerating up to around 40 mph when the engine shut off. Luckily, I was able to coast to a stop in the emergency lane. The steering locked up due to the engine shut down so I was not able to restart the car until putting it back in park to start the whole start sequence. The third occasion happened today (01/16/2025) as I was leaving school. I was leaving the parking lot when I went to accelerate from a stop the engine shut off again.

The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer for regular maintenance, and while the vehicle was being serviced, the contact was notified of a manufacturer recall related to a possible oil consumption failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle should be returned after driving for 1,500 miles for a consumption test. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to the oil consumption test. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact stated that he was informed by the dealer that the engine had been replaced; however, after retrieving the vehicle the oil consumption failure persisted. The contact returned the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that there was no documentation that the engine had been replaced. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and was repaired again under recall however, after returning the vehicle for service, the contact was informed that the engine was 2-quarts low on engine oil and there was no leak found. The contact was concerned that the engine might need to be replaced and the repair might be out of pocket. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.

My Jeep has incredibly high oil consumption. I am putting a quart of oil in every two weeks even after an oil change. My car also stalls intermittently, it has even turned completely off on the freeway. The electrical in my car goes in and out and my display for my radio is completely blacked out.

I am pouring a QT of oil in this jeep every other week. THIS IS NOT NORMAL! I have had the oil consumption test done 3 times. Each time the dealer tells me that losing this much oil is within guidlines. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. THIS IS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD WITH A VEHICLE. RECALL THIS!!! Ongoing for 2 years now.

I bough this car in February with no knowledge of the prior lawsuit on these cars randomly stalling. The past month- my car has stalled multiple times, in the middle of the road and I lose all control. It is such a safety hazard because people will literally almost hit me. I have to hurry up and turn on the flashers and pull over and restart and try again. There is no warnings for this and once it stalls- the steering wheel locks as well! I thought it was bad gas but after doing all kinds of research , there was 2 previous recalls on this car for the same issue! If it was fixed, why is it still doing this? Now I’m in a contract for this car and can’t afford to take a hit to my credit but it literally scares me to drive it! Check engine light initially came on but since has disappeared. I have recorded my car doing this and honestly have just let it sit because I cannot afford a mechanical bill right now.

Engine is the big problem. When I drive the engine randomly shuts off without any warning. I’ve been on the freeway when it shuts down and I don’t have enough time to get over to safety. And I fear for my life every time it happens. It’s a safety hazard for others around me as well because my car stops without warning and others are going full speed around me. We have taken it do the dealership, service center, auto shops and no one has an answer or solution for us. We took it to the jeep service center and they didn’t know what was going on. Other than that we haven’t taken it to a manufacturer. There were so symptoms or warnings before this was happening.

Since I’ve owned the car. When we go above 70 on highways with cruise control and a/c on the car will randomly turn off and the speedometer will say I am going 0 miles an hour. This has happened 5 times, everytime we go on vacation. And everytime the dealership states they can not mimic the symptoms. So it never gets fixed. Read about a power trans chip that’s faulty. Should be my vehicle included in that problem.

Engine stalled (lost power) while driving on the interstate during rush hour traffic. I had to pull into emergency lane. This happened 3 times within an hour or so. We almost wrecked the car. Very scary and dangerous situation. I checked and there are no recalls with my VIN number. I’m not sure what to do now

Looked up issues online and see many other people have the same issues. Checked the recall but my vin # was not included in the recall but the problem is IDENTICAL.

the turbocharger went out at 75k. had it replaced just after the #2 cylinder went bad. vehicle is unable to get to highway speeds and is very slow to accelerate. it is not due for an oil change for another 5k miles.

The vehicle has stopped running while driving. It turns off and the gas gauge will show E (there is a full tank) and the battery will die- it is brand new and it was tested when this happened. The codes are saying it’s the PCM- it hasn’t ran properly without a jump in months. And it will idol super high, over heat and scare everyone in the car. Had it towed and checked AGAIN. And everything was fine. (Note that the entire engine was replaced the year I got it by my dealership for the recall on the engine going through all oil in less than a month) I know I am not the only person who had had this issue with this specific vehicle. I’m still paying on it!! I have children to Think about. And at 700+$ payment monthly I shouldn’t have this issue. This vehicle has been nothing but trouble and the dealership gives me a hard time when I’ve called for help with it. The warranty ran up that I paid extra for. Isn’t that ironic.

When it is raining, the vehicle shuts down and service warning lights come on. The Service Engine, Service Transmission, Service Hill Assist, Service Parking Break lights come on. The vehicle will start, but won't go into drive and no fuel flows into the engine to give enough power to move. After about 30 minutes, the vehicle might run, but it will shift very hard and the Transmission won't fully engage. After 45 minutes, all the warning lights go off, except for the check engine light, and the car is driveable. This ONLY happens in the rain or after a car wash.

Was on a busy highway and without warning, car started driving rough and engine light noted to be flashing. Just made it to side of road before engine lost power. Notified by dealership the next day that there was an internal failure of the engine and a new engine was needed. 88,000 miles and regular maintenance performed at a service station. Defective fuel pump was also replaced at 66,000 miles. Jeep is stating these are normal breakdowns in the 2018 Jeep Renegade. Even though there is known problems with the make, model and year of car.

June of 2021 I received an oil consumption recall notice, immediately brought the vehicle into Flagler Chrysler Dodge. Mileage, 20,400. They told me to bring it back in 1000-2000 miles which I did at 22,001 miles, they said it was fine and closed the recall. Shortly thereafter as I was driving my vehicle it would hesitate and by the time I could get it to the dealership within 2 days, I work 2 jobs, it died in the middle of the road. Got it started, brought back to dealership begging them to check the oil explaining the circumstances. The service manager at the time refused to have my oil checked unless I agreed to do an $86.00 oil change. Told him several times I had one with my certified mechanic at 4000 miles prior but still refused, told me I would have to make an appointment and come back to have the oil checked if I didn't do the oil change. At that point I had no choice but to agree to the oil change if I wanted to drive my unsafe vehicle out of there. Fast forward to Atlantic Dodge in St Augustine where I took it afterwards and asked for help. They assured me they could/did start the testing over. It failed the testing twice and because Flagler closed it out Atlantic had to go thru my engine warranty. That began 9/12/22. To date after many visits to the dealership 30 minutes away, pictures, documents etc. I was told in March of this year 2023 that I had been approved for an engine. But again they continued to ask me for copies of my oil changes, come up there to take pics of my engine, send pic of my mileage, vin sticker. I questioned why they needed these things again if I had been approved, the answer was always...they're working on it. On 9/25/23 I sat with and questioned Dan Moreland, service manager. I was told it wasn't my car that was approved in March, it was someone else's. Now told I was denied previous week by Jeep who falsely claimed Atlantic held my car for 30 days! The contact stated that the check engine light had initially appeared on the instrument panel as the dynamic steering torque service, Service ESC system, Service HiIl-Start and the Traction Control warning lights would all appeared on the instrument panel. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, a hissing sound would emit from the brake pedal as the pedal became firm and difficult to depress. The contact’s sister was able to restart the vehicle after approximately 5 minutes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where an oil change was performed; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that on a separate occasion while her sister was driving at approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle abruptly jerked and stalled. The contact’s sister was able to restart the vehicle. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact’s sister to bring the vehicle back to the dealer however, the contact’s sister declined to drive the vehicle. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer where it diagnosed that the engine failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact then stated that the dealer confirmed that an oil consumption test was performed on the vehicle, but the vehicle failed the test. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that the vehicle was previously included in and unknown recall where an oil consumption test was performed but no further assistance was provided. This car constantly burns oil the engine shuts off when it is low on oil. I get an oil change and within a week or 2 depending on how much I drive there is no oil. There is no warning of low oil and the car shuts off you have to make a hard turn trying to get on the highway turning out of your driveway it’s very dangerous. Jeep claims the recall was fixed before I bought the car but it constantly does this. There is a class action lawsuit and an extended warranty but only for customers who car is 100,000 miles or less. I bought this car when it had 88,000 miles on it. What about those who are not covered what should we do? This car is dangerous and very expensive. It’s no fair to consumers who pay upwards of 10,000 for a car and stuck in a loan and the car is dangerous the engine is sure to lock up one day

My car shut down and will not restart in High altitudes. This has been on ongoing issue since I purchased it in 2019. The car will sputter and feel like it has no power, then die. When I go to restart, it will not start. We have almost been hit by traffic several times because of this issue. Seems to only happen in high altitude. We live in the mountains, so we climb elevation quite a bit.

After driving this vehicle for 50,000 miles, the car began to stop in the middle of the road, causing a hazard to the driver and the other people driving on the road. Trying to get it started again took some time and the driver was in the way of moving vehicles, but unable to get the car started. When I took it in to the dealership I bought it from, they said the issue was oil consumption and that there was a recall on the motor. I got no notice of this recall and could have been involved in a serious accident because my car continued to stop randomly with no notice of a low oil light coming on or any such warning light.

During the last several months my car has been unexpectedly stalling. It has happened under several circumstances. It happened while driving, sitting at a stop light and even shortly after I started it. I have seen online that this is a widespread problem with this Jeep engine and there are dozens if not hundreds of similar instances posted online about this sudden unexpected stall. No recall has ever been issued and it is an extremely dangerous problem to have your car unexpectedly stop while driving in traffic or worse driving on a busy freeway. My car has had a recall for excessive oil consumption, and this was supposedly fixed by the dealership. The dealership and online complaints seem to tie this problem to these unexpectedly low oil levels being linked to the stalling. The dealership said to watch my oil consumption carefully and to make sure I have regular oil changes. I have been very careful to always change my oil when recommended. This is a potentially deadly problem for a large number of vehicles and I hope the NHTSA will investigate as soon as possible and force Chrysler to issue a recall and fix. Thank you for your time.

I was made aware that my car has a recall alert. It is a W20 recall, the PCM needs reprogrammed. I contacted Krebs Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM and was told the first available appointment is on May 31, 2023. I requested a loaner car that I could use until the recall problem was resolved. I stated my car stalled twice on a major highway and that I was currently pulled over in a parking lot. My request for a loaner car was denied as was my request to be towed the 2.4 miles to Krebs Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM without charge. I was informed that the reason behind these denials was that my car is “drivable.” Driving this car as is puts me and the rest of the drivers on the road in extreme jeopardy, possibly even of a life threatening situation.

Every 2 days I'm adding a cord of oil to my engine. It started off. I would have to add a quart or two in between my oil changes and this thing is running unbelievably bad. Everything's failing on it now. It's leaking oil out of somewhere from the block. The manifolds leaking has been since day one and a thing runs so hot. It's unreal, it doesn't accelerate and then it tries to accelerate by itself. It bucks it decelerates and jumps gears

Our vehicle for the 2nd time since we got it has had this same issue. The first issue was withing the first 6 months and thankfully not as severe as the most recent incident which occurred this past Saturday January 21 2023. We were driving on the high way when out of now where the service engine light came on and we lost all power in the middle of the highway, no warnings no nothing. It was me my husband and my kids and we could have been killed. We get our oil changed regularly on schedule have never missed one and the oil was low. This happened like I said prior and the same situation we took it to the dealer, they did a system upgrade so they said and this is the first time we had an issue since. This is not okay and I don't feel safe in the vehicle it is still under warranty and the dealer doesn't want to help. Wondering if I should contact an attorney for a resolution or where to go at this point.

I have a 2018 Jeep Renegade that I purchased about a year ago. I was alerted of a safety recall (W80) via text message by the dealership I bought the car from. The made me aware of an oil consumption problem. Meanwhile, I had been experiencing issues with the car where it would flash a low oil message on the dashboard screen and then stalled in the middle of the road. To allow for time to get the car serviced, I was adding oil to the engine and checking it frequently and adding more oil as needed. This issue began before I was alerted of the recall and I had made an appointment to take the car in for service. I took the car to my closest certified Jeep servicing center. They told me that they would have to do an oil change (at my expense) and that I would need to come back to the dealership after driving the car an additional 15,000 miles. I told them that the car was most certainly going to stall prior to reaching 15, 000 miles and that I did not feel safe driving the car as it could stall at any moment and put my life in danger.

I was coming up to a red light with a car stopped ahead of me and trying to brake but my brakes did not effectively slow my car so I rear ended the car in front of me going about 10mph or 15mph and his car had zero damage but my car would not turn off (push to start was not working) and my engine burst into flames and the whole front of my car burned.

Before the first oil change was due on my vehicle, the engine stalled. I took it to the nearest mechanic shop where I learned that all of the oil had been burned. I later learned that these models are notorious for this issue. My engine has stalled on me more times than I can count. Chrysler refuses to acknowledge the oil consumption problem after their 1500-1700 miles driven "tests". I have requested several times that they check oil levels between 2000-4000 miles driven as that is where the problem lies. They have ignored all requests. After sending emails to CEO's of mother companies and daughter companies, they are finally going to replace the long block on my engine. I have been fighting these issues for many years to no avail. They refuse to provide a loaner vehicle while this is being done. My car has stopped on me while driving. This is going to result is deaths if someone doesn't hold them accountable for a problem they are well aware of! This is not the only issue my vehicle has. There are several electrical issues as well.

Vehicle suddenly powers down with no warning lights. This happened in traffic. Upon pulling over, turning off and restarting the vehicle, it was fine. It happened again a half hour later. Dealership could not identify the problem. Car was fine for more than a week, then happened again. It seems to be a common problem per internet search for this model.

I have been experiencing higher then normal oil consumption issues, I am having to add 1-1.5 quarts of oil every 1000 miles, my vehicle has stalled out while driving on multiple occasions, due oil levels being to low, the oil level light never comes on prior to the car stalling, it only comes on after the car has already stalled out.

If I am traveling downhill and need to make a turn, no matter what speed, the car directs me to shift into park and restart. Started from Feb 2022 till April 2022 I had 3 time lights came up and car stopped on the road while I was driving. The first time was low oil pressure came on, and second and third time were both about engine service light on. so it happened once a month with about 1000 mileage driving. I was almost hit by the car behind of me coz the car stopped suddenly while I was driving. this really caused my concern about my safety. Dealer couldn't help me more about it except keep monitoring the oil consumption. they told me the car with 2.4L V4 engine has this issue. I found out the same issue also happened to the other Jeep consumers and they have been involved in law suit. I need to file this complaint so could get someone's attention on this, Chrysler need to fix this engine design issue ASAP to save lifes.

Coolant in reservoir has been overheating since replacement of o-ring on pressure cap. I have take the car to the mechanic twice to find the solutions as to what could be causing this issue. The first time I was told it was not my radiator because I thought I had suffered damage to it from an accident a couple of years ago, and the second time they have flushed the system and told me there were no signs of leakage in the system. I have even speculated it could be the thermostat housing, so I got that replaced as well, but to no avail.

My jeep on 11/11/2021 just turned 60,000 miles the light came on change oil so I started it drove out of the drive way turned around the corner it said you can't shift in drive so I pulled over put it in park put my foot on the brake push the button to start it sound like a hissing sound then it would crank and start I got to the corner to stop and it died out put it in park put my foot on the brake and push the button to start did the same thing making like a hissing sound started to crank after a minute and a half and it seemed to do this in the morning although couple more times during the day. This is a serious problem it can cause an accident I think it's a fuel pump not getting enough fuel.

I bought this car as a 1 year old vehicle with less than 20k miles. Since my first oil change, my mechanics have mentioned that it is losing quite a bit of oil. The jeep has died in intersections 9x due to low oil pressure. The vehicle crossed 60k miles a month ago, and is now misfiring. After a leak down test was performed, they stated that the engine needs to be replaced due to a 40% leak on cylinder 3 and a 30% on all other cylinders. Unfortunately, the engine is now out of warranty.

While going down the highway, the jeep shut down/locked up. The engine was still running, but wouldn't let me turn it off or run anything electrical. Every service light possible came on. In order to get it to turn off, we had to turn off the computer. After that, it had no power whatsoever. The key light was showing. Luckily, I was able to pull over before getting hit. I had both of my kids in the car. I've seen where other people have had this happen. Why has it not been recalled. We're still waiting to find out what the issue is but the mechanic shop is behind due to workers being out with Covid.

Vehicle randomly shuts off/stalls while driving. Has happened on the highway at highway speeds, trying to pass another vehicle or simply while barely accelerating to merge. First few times transmission warning light came on, then change oil light came on. Last few times, engine just simply shuts off, speedometer slowly declines and there is no power. Pull over to shoulder, then message says vehicle must be in park before shifting to another gear, then says push brake pedal & push start. This happened several times while out of state, on vacation. Took it to the nearest dealership after having to spend extra money on a hotel room for 2 nights that I did not plan for, because this happened the evening before a holiday so I had to wait the extra day for the dealership to open. They found a code on the transmission, and also the fluid was a quart low. they cleared the code, filled the fluid, and I also had them change the oil as a precaution. Left the dealership, drove approximately 150 miles, and vehicle shut down on interstate again, 3 more times. Had to spend another night in a hotel, the closest dealership said couldn't look at vehicle until following week, so I drove back to the previous dealership where they couldn't find anything or couldn't duplicate the issue. Next day they found debris in pan so said Chrysler said to change transmission. Had to leave vehicle in Colorado, got rental to return home. Picked up vehicle 10 days later, driving home, vehicle did same thing again, 3 times. Drove remaining way home slowly, with breaks every 50-75 miles so issue wouldn't keep happening, vehicle is currently at local dealership and they (once again) cannot duplicate issue or find anything wrong. This is obviously an issue, I've seen several complaints about the stalling/shutting down. This is dangerous, as it happens on the interstate and could cause serious injury or death. Fiat/Chrysler does not seem to be concerned about that.

The engine suddenly shut-off while operating. The engine would not restart. There is a potential risk of causing an serious accident on the road. On the dashboard the key symbol light is on. On Tuesday of this week when called Chrysler's Customer Service and was informed that symbol is error is for the Passive Entry System. This error message prevent the engine from restart. The vehicle was towed to the nearest Jeep Chrysler dealership. Now, 2 days later there is no recall on the passive entry system and now the vehicle needs over $1600 worth of service repairs. They never address why the key symbol is on the car. appears that their an an issue with this and a recall is in order. Also, it may be the recall from 2018 # U87 with the circuit board and electrical.

It is using an enormous amount of oil. When it gets too low, it shuts off. I have been in the middle of a turn or in an intersection when this happens. It had a recall/fix by the manufacturer but it did it again. Back in the shop. I had to put over 4 quarts of oil in it.

My vehicle has been burning oil and no oil light ever comes on. My vehicle then overheated post 1 week after an oil change and the safety mechanism turned on and shut my vehicle down. The sensor never detected the vehicle was overheating. It went from a "please lower RPM" to shutting down within seconds on the interstate. There are similar recalls on other years of this make and model. It has been burning oil since I bought the vehicle brand new. There is currently 80,000 miles on the car and has never missed an oil change or any service. My safety was put at risk by driving on the interstate and the vehicle completely shutting down going full speed. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone but the people who have completely oil changes, etc. Never been in an accident. There were no previous warning lights prior to the shut down and overheating. The vehicle had started bogging down before the initial reduce RPM alert came on followed by the shut down seconds later.

I TOOK IT TO THE DODGE CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP AFTER THAT, AND I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A COMPUTER SOFTWARE ISSUE THAT WAS SUPPOSEDLY RESET BUT HERE WE ARE MONTHS LATER AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN WHERE THE ENGINE SEIZED AND I WAS STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD! MY PASSENGER AND I ARE LUCKY TO EVEN BE ALIVE AFTER THAT INCIDENT! I NOTICED THAT THE LOW OIL-PRESSURE LIGHT COMES ON FOR A HALF-SECOND WHEN TURNING A HARD CORNER THEN GOES AWAY. APPARENTLY, THE OIL PRESSURE GETS LOW B/C THE ENGINE(2.4) USES ALL OF THE OIL WITHIN OR LESS THAN 2 MONTHS TIME AFTER AN OIL CHANGE. THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS 2.4 ENGINE, AS OF 12/10/20 I AM TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP, BUT ONLY ON RENEGADES THAT HAVE ALL WHEEL DRIVE AND NOT FRONT WHEEL DRIVE SUCH AS MINE. NOT SURE WHAT THE TRANSMISSION HAS TO DO WITH A BADLY DESIGNED MOTOR(A REP AT THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP STATED THAT IT WAS A POORLY DESIGNED ENGINE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO USE SOME OIL); HOWEVER, THIS ENGINE SUCKS THE OIL DRY IN UNDER 2 MONTHS TIME THUS MAKING THE MOTOR DIE/STALL WHILE DRIVING. A COUPLE OF TIMES MY JEEP RENEGADE 2018 STALLED WHEN I WAS DRIVING, SAID SOMETHING ABOUT LOW OIL PRESSURE WHEN I ALREADY DID AN OIL CHANGE, ALSO SAID ON THE DASH THAT THE GEAR SHIFT WASN'T WORKING AND SLOW DOWN AND STOP, I COULDN'T IMAGINE IF I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY THAT WOULD'VE BEEN A BAD ACCIDENT. I SAFELY PARKED, TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND STARTED BACK UP. TOOK IT LAST YEAR TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THAT WAS A SAFETY THING AND THIS YEAR OCTOBER 30TH 2020, I TOOK IT TO CHECK WHY IT KEPT SAYING LOW OIL PRESSURE WHEN THE OIL IS NEW AND I WANTED TO KNOW IF WAS LEAKING. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD MY JEEP STALLED AND SHUT OFF ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE OIL WAS PROBABLY LOW AND TO BRING IT IN. I CALLED THE DEALSHIP AND I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TODAY TO START AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. I DROVE LESS THAN 4,000 MILES BETWEEN OIL CHANGES BEFORE I BROKE DOWN AGAIN. I BOUGHT MY JEEP RENEGADE IN AUGUST OF 2018. NOT EVEN A MONTH OF DRIVING LATER (2,000 MILES), I WAS ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE THE ENGINE STALLED AND THEN GAVE ME A LOW OIL PRESSURE WARNING. WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID IT WAS TOO EARLY TO DO AN OIL CHANGE AND TO COME BACK AT 10,000 MILES. I HAD TO FILL THE VEHICLE WITH 2 QUARTS OF OIL TO KEEP IT RUNNING. I THEN RAN INTO THE SAME PROBLEM AT THE 7,000 MILE MARK WHERE I STALLED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE DEALERSHIP FINALLY DID AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST, AND I THOUGHT THEY WOULD SEE IT AS A PROBLEM THAT THE ENGINE IS "CONSUMING" 1 QUART PER 1,000 MILES. HOWEVER, IT IS "NORMAL" UNDER THE FCA GUIDELINES FOR THEIR ENGINES TO CONSUME THIS AMOUNT OF OIL. I TRIED TO GET THE DEALERSHIP TO GET ME OUT OF THE VEHICLE I HAD JUST BOUGHT, AND THEY TOLD ME IT WASN'T WORTH VERY MUCH BECAUSE IT HAD A BAD ENGINE. THEY WOULD NOT FIX THE ENGINE THOUGH UNLESS IT WAS CONSUMING MORE THAN 1 QUART PER 1,000 MILES. I COMPLETED YET ANOTHER TEST TO FIND THAT THE OIL CONSUMPTION STAYED THE SAME. I WAS HAVING TO FILL THE OIL RESERVOIR IN BETWEEN OIL CHANGES IN FEAR THAT I WOULD STALL ON THE HIGHWAY AGAIN AND GET HIT BY A VEHICLE. THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHTS FOR THIS ISSUE UNTIL AFTER THE ENGINE STOPS. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME I NEEDED TO JUST CHECK THE DIPSTICK EVERYTIME I FUEL UP. THIS IS ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX AS I AM FILLING UP WITH $10 QUARTS OF OIL EVERY 1,000 MILES AND THEN DOING AN OIL CHANGE EVERY 3,000 MILES BECAUSE IF I GO TO THE RECOMMENDED 10,000 MILES THERE WILL BE ENGINE PROBLEMS. I WOULD LIKE TO DO MY OWN OIL CHANGES, BUT HAVE BEEN GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP IN FEAR THAT I WOULD BE TO BLAME FOR THE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE IF I DARED TO CHANGE MY OWN OIL. I AM CURRENTLY AT 30,000 MILES. IT APPEARS THAT CHRYSLER IS AVOIDING RESOLVING THE ISSUE UNTIL IT COMES OUT OF MY POCKET IN 6,000 MILES.

I ORDERED SOME FOOD AND DROVE TO EXIT OF THE PARKING LOT AND THE CAR STALLED COMPLETELY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THE CAR DIDN'T FLASH ANY LIGHTS. THE DASH REPEATED FOR ME TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND PRESS THE ON BUTTON. THIS WASN'T WORKING. I FOLLOWED ITS INSTRUCTIONS OVER AND OVER BUT THE CAR STILL WOULD NOT MOVE. WHEN I WOULD PRESS THE GAS THE CAR ENGINE WOULD GET VERY BUMPY DESPITE NOT MOVING FORWARD. I FINALLY PUT IT IN REVERSE AND IT WILLINGLY MOVED BACKWARDS WITHOUT HESITATION. HOWEVER, WHEN PUT IN DRIVE AGAIN, THE D ON THE GEAR SELECTOR WOULD FLASH AND I WOULD LOSE CONTROL OF THE CAR AGAIN. I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND HAD SOMEONE PUSH ME OUT OF THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I TURNED OFF THE CAR. WHEN I TURNED IT ON ONE MORE TIME, THE JEEP FINALLY STARTED DRIVING LIKE IT SHOULD. I ARRIVED HOME AND CHECKED THE OIL AND IT WAS NOT LOW.

VEHICLE SHUT OFF TWICE WHILE IN MOTION WITH NO WARNING. CHANGED OIL AT 12000 MILES. AT 14,500 MILES THE VEHICLE FLASHED A LOW OIL PRESSURE SIGN AND SHUT OFF WHILE MOVING ON A 45MPH ROAD. IT THEN STRUGGLED TO RESTART. HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY CONFIRMED THERE WAS NO OIL. I AM NOW DOING AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST PER THE DEALERSHIP'S INSTRUCTIONS AND THE DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED ON THE 3RD TEST (16000 MILEAGE) AFTER 1500 MILES THAT THE VEHICLE BURNED A QUART OF OIL SO FAR. WE ARE CONTINUING THE TESTS. THE VEHICLE DOES NOT WARN OF LOW OIL OR GIVE WARNING WHEN IT IS SHUTTING OFF. IT WILL COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION, LEAVING THE DRIVER TO ATTEMPT TO COAST TO A SAFE AREA. THE DASH WILL THEN READ 'PLACE GEAR IN P AND PRESS BUTTON TO TURN ON' THIS HAS OCCURRED TWICE - THE FIRST TIME THAT REQUIRED THE OIL CHANGE AT 12000 IN NOVEMBER 4, 2019 AND THE SECOND AT 14,500 ON DECEMBER 31, 2019. IN SUMMARY, THE VEHICLE BURNED THROUGH 5 QUARTS OF OIL IN A LITTLE OVER 2000 MILES AND SHUT OFF WITH NO WARNING, AND IS BEGINNING THE PROCESS AGAIN WHILE BEING MONITORED UNDER THE DEALERSHIP.

I WAS MAKING A RIGHT ONTO A ROAD AND I LOST ALL POWER TO THE DRIVE TRAIN AND HAD TO MAKE A SUDDEN RIGHT TURN INTO A SUBDIVISION THAT WAS TO MY IMMEDIATE RIGHT. I COULD STILL STEER; WHICH WAS HOW I PULLED MYSELF OFF THE ROAD INTO THE SUBDIVISION IMMEDIATELY AFTER MAKING THE TURN ONTO THE ROAD. I CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL WHEN I CAME TO A STOP INSIDE THE SUBDIVISION. IT READ THAT THE OIL LEVEL WAS SLIGHTLY ABOVE THE RECOMMENDED LEVEL ON THE DIPSTICK. I WAS ON MY WAY TO HAVE THE OIL CHANGE DONE. THE CAR WAS DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE AT THE TIME. I WAS TAKING IT IN FOR THE OIL CHANGE 100 MILES BEFORE THE DUE DATE. A WEEK EARLIER AND THE DAY BEFORE THE CAR DISPLAYED A LOW OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR ON THE DISPLAY. THOSE WERE THE FIRST TIMES IN MY LIFE I'VE SEEN THAT MESSAGE. I CONTACTED THE PARTS DEPARTMENT OF THE TRONCALLI JEEP DODGE DEALERSHIP I HAD BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM LATER THAT DAY. I ASKED WHY THE ENGINE STOPPED AND THE MAN I SPOKE TO SAID PROBABLY HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH HOW THE ENGINE WAS MADE. IN WHICH THE ENGINE COULD STALL IF THE OIL LEVEL IS HALF A QUART OVER OR UNDER THE MINIMUM OR MAXIMUM LEVEL. THAT WAS THE 1ST INSTANCE OF MY VEHICLE STALLING.

INCIDENT 2 2/13/20 7AM I HAD JUST LEFT MY HOUSE AND HAD TURNED LEFT TO EXIT MY NEIGHBORHOOD WHEN THE CARD STALLED IN DRIVE. I PUT IT PARK AND PUSHED THE START BUTTON, NOTHING HAPPENED. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF OF THE BRAKE AND THEN REAPPLIED MY FOOT TO THE BRAKE AND PUSHED THE BUTTON. SOUNDED LIKE THE CARD WAS TRYING TO START. WAITED A FEW MORE SECONDS AND TRIED IT AGAIN, IT STARTED. NO ISSUES ON THE 20 MILES TO WORK.

THE VEHICLE BURNS OIL CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SHUTDOWN WITHOUT WARNING. WE HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICES REGULARLY, BUT IT BURNS SO MUCH OIL WE'RE HAVING ISSUES BEFORE IT'S DUE FOR ROUTINE OIL CHANGE. MY SON WAS ABOUT 30 MILES AWAY FROM HOME WHEN HIS VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. HE ALSO MENTIONED THAT AT TIMES IT WOULD SPUTTER DURING ACCELERATION. WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW AND CURRENTLY IT HAS 29,000 MILES. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED UNDER WARRANTY TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY KEPT IT FOR OVER A WEEK BEFORE THEY WERE ABLE TO LOOK AT IT. I INQUIRED ABOUT GETTING A LOANER VEHICLE SINCE WE WERE DOWN A VEHICLE AND THE DEALER SAID ALL THEIR LOANERS WERE OUT AND THEY WILL ONLY ALLOW US TO HAVE THE LOANER FOR 5 DAYS TOTAL. SO, THEY SAID THEY WOULD CONTACT US WHEN THEY HAD A LOANER AVAILABLE. WE NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM, SO MY HUSBAND CALLED THEM BACK 8 DAYS LATER TO INQUIRE ABOUT A LOANER AGAIN, AND AT THAT TIME THEY SAID THE VEHICLE WAS READY; ALL IT NEEDED WAS OIL. SO, WHEN WE WENT TO PICK-UP THE VEHICLE THEY'RE CHARGING US $189 AND THIS VEHICLE IS STILL ON WARRANTY. THE WARRANTY ON THE JEEP IS FRAUDULENT AND THE DEALERSHIPS ARE DEVIOUS.

THE VEHICLE WAS KEPT AT THE DEALER'S FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND NO OTHER FAILURE WAS DIAGNOSED. THE TECHNICIAN PERFORMED AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE ISSUE WAS NOT RESOLVED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 34,000.

VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR IN JULY. IN DECEMBER IT BEGAN STALLING AT ODD TIMES AND NOT WANTING TO RESTART. WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMAS THE OIL CHANGE INDICATOR CAME ON. I THOUGHT NOTHING OF IT AND FIGURED I WOULD SCHEDULE IT AS SOON AS I COULD AFTER THE HOLIDAYS. THE VEHICLE BEGAN STALLING SHORTLY AFTER THE OIL CHANGE INDICATOR HAPPENED. I THOUGHT IT WAS BECAUSE I DID NOT LET THE VEHICLE WARM UP LONG ENOUGH AND IT WAS VERY COLD OUTSIDE. NOPE. I WAS ON MY WAY TO THE GAS STATION AND THE VEHICLE STALLED IN THE INTERSECTION AND REFUSED TO RESTART. I WAS ALMOST STRUCK SEVERAL TIMES. IT TOOK 5 MINUTES TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS MAKING NOISES LIKE THE ENGINE DID NOT WANT TO TURN OVER AND CATCH. I FINALLY GOT IT OUT OF THE ROAD AND INTO THE PARKING LOT OF THE GAS STATION. IT SAT FOR A FEW MINUTES AND THEN RESTARTED RELUCTANTLY. I FILLED IT UP WITH GAS AND IT TOOK SEVERAL TRIES TO GET IT TO RESTART. A WEEK LATER I WAS COMING HOME FROM WORK AND IT STALLED ON ME LEAVING THE PARKING LOT, I HAD LITERALLY DRIVEN 500 FEET. WHEN I RESTARTED IT, THE VEHICLE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE RED "POWER REDUCED" LIGHT WAS FLASHING ON THE DASH. IT WOULD NOT GO OVER 25 MPH. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO A PARKING LOT A LITTLE WAYS UP THE ROAD AND LET IT SIT FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES. IT RESTARTED WITH NO PROBLEMS, THE REDUCE POWER LIGHT WAS GONE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL ON, AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT AT A NORMAL SPEED THE REST OF THE WAY HOME. I STARTED IT AGAIN THE NEXT MORNING. NO ISSUES, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON. AS OF THIS WRITING, I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 6 MONTHS AND IT HAS 8100 MILES ON IT. I BOUGHT IT NEW OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR. IF THE REPORTS I KEEP SEEING ON HERE ARE ACCURATE, I WILL BE TRADING IT IN FOR SOMETHING ELSE ASAP.

TWICE NOW CAR HAS JUST STALLED/SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. ENGINE LIGHT AT THAT TIME SUDDENLY SHOWS "LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE". TAKEN TO DEALER TWICE AND OIL LEVEL LOW-->OIL CHANGE DONE AND PROBLEM RESOLVED FOR ~ 3K MILES. FIRST TIME HAPPENED AROUND 4-5K MILES AFTER OIL CHANGE, 2ND TIME HAPPENED AROUND 4K AFTER OIL CHANGE. OIL CONSUMPTION TEST AT 1K AFTER LAST OIL CHANGE SHOWS ENGINE IS BURNING AT LEAST 1/2 QUART OF OIL. DEALERSHIP STATES JEEP IS STATING THIS IS WITHIN NORMAL AND THAT I SHOULD GET OIL CHANGED/TOPPED OFF EVERY 3K MILES. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND UNACCEPTABLE THAT OIL CONSUMPTION IS SO HIGH THAT MY ENGINE RANDOMLY STALLS BECAUSE OF LOW ENGINE OIL.

OTHERS HAD THEY'RE RENEGADES STOP WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY BUT LUCKY I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE IN MY DRIVEWAY. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD AN OIL CHANGE ON TIME AND THROUGH JEEP AS WELL. I ALSO DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THEY PASSED AND EMISSIONS TEST WHILE THE MOTOR BURNS THAT MUCH OIL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MOTOR WORLD CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (150 MOTORWORLD DR, WILKES-BARRE, PA 18702, (888) 459-2493) AND WAS INFORMED THAT AN OIL CHANGE AND OIL CONSUMPTION TEST WERE NEEDED. THE OIL WAS CHANGED. THE DEALER COULD NOT LOCATE A FAILURE WITH THE RADIO. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 71429369. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 29,000.

MY NEXT OIL CHANGE WAS OVER 1000 MILES AWAY FROM BEING DUE & THEY SAID IT WAS DOWN 2 QUARTS. I DROVE 250 MILES UNTIL MY NEXT APPOINTMENT FOR THE OTHER REPAIR PROBLEM 2 WEEKS LATER AND THERE WAS LESS THAN 1/2 NOTCH LEFT OF OIL ON THE DIPSTICK. THE ENGINE WAS GIVEN A FRESH OIL CHANGE AND NOW MUST BE CHECKED EVERY 500 MILES TO DETERMINE IF IT'S AN ENGINE CONSUMPTION CASE. MY OTHER 2 OIL CHANGES WERE FREE TO USE WITHIN 1 YEAR SO IN ORDER TO NOT LOOSE THEM MY OIL CHANGES WERE PERFORMED WELL BEFORE THEY WERE DUE.

MY RENEGADE FIRST GAVE ME 'ISSUES' BEFORE THE FIRST OIL CHANGE DUE DATE. JUST 2 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW, IT SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING BACK FROM MY BEACH VACATION. I WAS DRIVING 70 MPH ON INTERSTATE 65 AND IT JUST COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. I HAD TO COAST FROM THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC ONTO THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE. MY 8 YEAR OLD SON WAS ALSO WITH ME DURING THIS FIRST OF SEVERAL DANGEROUS ENCOUNTERS. IT TOOK ME ABOUT 6 OR 7 ATTEMPTS AT RESTARTING MY CAR AND GETTING BACK IN TRAFFIC BEFORE I FINALLY MADE IT SAFELY HOME THAT DAY. EACH OF THOSE ATTEMPTS FIRST RESULTED IN THE CAR SHUTTING OFF AND ME COASTING TO THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. EVERY TIME MY CAR IS CLOSE TO AN OIL CHANGE, WITHIN ABOUT 300-500 MILES, IT EXPERIENCES THE ABOVE SCENARIO. IT HAS TAKEN SEVERAL MONTHS TO FINALLY FIND THE PATTERN AND REALIZE THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE ENGINE IS BURNING AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL, RUNNING THE CAR LOW ON OIL, AND THEN THE SAFETY FEATURE SHUTS OFF THE CAR COMPLETELY. THIS HAPPENS WITHOUT ANY TYPE OF WARNING; NO LIGHTS OR ANY TYPE OF SIGNAL. THIS SUMMER, I HAD TO COMPLETE AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST ON MY VEHICLE. THIS CONSISTED OF ME DRIVING TO THE DEALERSHIP EVERY 1,000 MILES FOR THEM TO CHECK MY OIL, CHART HOW MUCH IT USED, AND FILL IT BACK UP WITH OIL. THE DISTANCE FROM MY HOUSE TO THE DEALERSHIP IS 35 MILES; QUICKEST ROUTE BEING A 46 MINUTE DRIVE. I HAD TO REPEAT THIS PROCESS 5 TOTAL TIMES. AT THE END OF THE 5,000 MILES I WAS TOLD BY MY SERVICE TECHNICIAN (ALLAN) THAT I MISSED THE CUT OFF FOR RECEIVING A NEW ENGINE BY ABOUT QUART OF OIL. HE ALSO EXPRESSED THAT HIS PERSONAL OPINION MAY BE DIFFERENT, BUT THAT THE STANDARD/GUIDELINES WAS WHAT HE HAD TO GO BY FOR DIAGNOSING THE RESULTS.

SINCE 21000 MILES (FIRST INSTENCE) WE HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE CAR SHUTTING OFF , AND LOSING ALL POWER TO THE GAS AND BREAK, ALMOST CAUSING A WRECK. I WAS TURNING LEFT AND THE ENGINE SPUTRERED, THEN AS THE WHEEL STRAIGHTENED UP IT COMPLETELY LOUSY ALL GAS, AND BREAK FUNCTION AS IF IT WAS NOT IDLING. ABOUT EVERY 3-4 WEEKS AFTER IT WOULD STALL, BUT NOT LOSE COMPLETE CONTROL. WE STARTED TO NOTICE IT WAS USING EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL, AFTER ACKNOWLEDGING FIRST COUPLE ISSUES. WE ARE CURRENTLY HAVING IT LOOKED AT, AS THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WOULD NOT ALLOW US TO START THE ENGINE AT ALL, WE ARE CURRENTLY AT 30,000 MILES. CAR IS 1.5 YEARS OLD , PROBLEMS AROSE 5 MONTHS AGO.

NEW JEEP RENEGADE, EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION ON 2.4L MULTIAIR ENGINE. THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR LOW OIL SENSORS TO SHUT DOWN ENGINE IN TRAFFIC, OR WORSE FOR ENGINE TO FREEZE UP. MY FIRST INCIDENT WAS AT 2800 MILES, 2500 SINCE OIL CHANGE. THE ENGINE WAS 3.5 QUARTS LOW. FEARING DAMAGE OR SHUT DOWN I TOPPED IT OFF AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. DEALER ONLY CHECKED THE DIPSTICK, AND SINCE I HAD JUST FILLED IT THEY DECLARED THEY DIDN'T SEE A PROBLEM. 2ND TIME WAS 700 MILES LATER (TOWN DRIVING), 1 QUART LOW, I MADE THE SAME MISTAKE OF TOPPING IT OFF, AND THE DEALER AGAIN SAID NO PROBLEM. 3RD TIME I DID NOT TOP OFF, AND THEY NOW ADMIT IT'S USING TOO MUCH OIL FINDING IT LOW BY 1.2 QUARTS IN 1500 MILES (HIGHWAY DRIVING). BUT THEY INDICATE THEY CAN'T ADDRESS THE ISSUE UNTIL 7500 MILES ARE ON THE CAR PER FCA (MANUFACTURER) GUIDELINES. IN ADDITION FCA SAYS THAT 1 QT PER 2000 MILES IS "NORMAL". I AM NOW AT 5300 MILES, SO IT REMAINS UNFIXED AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IF I OR MY WIFE FAIL TO ADD OIL EVERY 1000 MILES. MY TWO PROBLEMS ARE A) THE CAR ENGINE IS DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE REPLACED OR FIXED PROMPTLY AS THE WARRANTY WOULD INDICATE B) AS A PURCHASER OF A NEW CAR I SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADVISED IN EITHER THE WARRANTY BY OTHER SIGNATURE DOCUMENT THAT THE CAR WOULD POTENTIALLY USE 1 QUART EVERY 2000 MILES UNDER "NORMAL" USE. I ATTACH THE JEEP SERVICE BULLETIN ON EXCESS OIL USE. I HAVE SERVICE DOCUMENTS FROM MY DEALER TO SUBSTANTIATE MY REQUESTS FOR RELIEF AND A FIX, WHICH I STILL WAIT FOR. THERE IS NO SINGLE INCIDENT, THIS IS AN ON GOING PROBLEM THAT FCA IS NOT ADDRESSING (SIMILAR TO THE TOYOTA 2AZ-FE ENGINE CLASS ACTION SUIT). ASK ABOUT MY SPEED ON THIS FORM I HAVE SAID 50, BUT IT VARIED FROM 20 TO 65MPH OVER A PERIOD OF TIME.

AT 19700 MILES I WAS DRIVING HOME (50 MILES) IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD MY ENGINE STALLED AND THEN COMPLETELY STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I WENT LESS THEN 3 MILES AND THE ENGINE STALLED AGAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY. RIGHT BEFORE IT STALLED THE DRIVE LIGHT FLASHED A FEW TIMES BEFORE CUTTING OFF. I PUT IT IN PARK PUT MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN AND SAFELY PARKED IT. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO HAD WONDERFUL SERVICE DEPARTMENT BUT I WAS A LITTLE UPSET WHEN TOLD IT WAS PROBABLY A FLUKE. THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AFTER THEY COULD NOT GET THE VEHICLE TO DUPLICATE WHAT IT HAD PREVIOUSLY DONE. I KNOW THIS IS PROBABLY STANDARD BUT I'M SINCERELY CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND WHAT I CAN DO IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN WITHOUT THE DEALER BEING ABLE TO DUPLICATE IT. *TR

I WAITED A SECOND OR SO AND IT STARTED BACK UP. I WENT BACK HOME MY HUSBAND CHECKED THE OIL AND IT WAS EMPTY. WE ADD A 4 PLUS QUARTS OF THE CORRECT OIL. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, FOR AN APPOINTMENT. IT TOOK 4 PLUS DAYS TO GET AN APPOINTMENT. BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. WE CHECK THE OIL AND AGAIN IT BARELY GOT ANY IN IT. WE ADD JUST ENOUGH TO GET TO THE APPOINTMENT. NOW THEY SAY I HAVE TO DRIVE IT 1000 MILES FOR A COMPRESSION TEST. THEY KNOW IT'S THE MOTOR!. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY I HAVE TO BE PUT AT RISK OF BREAKING DOWN TO PROVE THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG. I PURCHASED A 2018 JEEP RENEGADE AT THE END OF JULY 2018, IT HAD WORKED WELL UNTIL THE END OF JUNE 2019. I WAS ON A ROAD TRIP FROM SOUTH CAROLINA TO COLORADO AND I WAS ON THE ROAD FOR A WEEK WITH NO ISSUES, BUT ON JUNE 28TH AS I WAS DRIVING ON I-70 THROUGH KANSAS AT ABOUT 80 MPH WHEN MY ENGINE BEGAN TO STALL OUT. AT FIRST IT WAS DROPPING ABOUT 10 - 15 MPH, BUT THEN IT WAS QUICKLY DROPPING 30 - 40 MPH. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT INTO THE RIGHT MOST LANE, BUT A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT APPEARED ON MY DASHBOARD WHILE MY ENGINE STALLED OUT COMPLETELY. I HAD TO RESTART MY CAR A FEW TIMES, BUT AFTER A FEW RESTARTS THE NOTIFICATIONS DISAPPEARED. EVERY TIME THE ENGINE STALLED OUT, I WOULD LOSE THE USE OF MY GAS AND BRAKE PEDALS. THE ELECTRONICS WERE STILL WORKING, BUT DRIVING WAS NON-RESPONSIVE. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY NURSE MY CAR INTO THE NEAREST CITY AND EVENTUALLY GET TOWED TO THE NEAREST JEEP DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP WAS ABLE TO LOOK AT THE JEEP THE NEXT DAY (JUNE 29TH) AND DID SOME COMPUTER DIAGNOSTICS AND TOLD ME THAT THE JEEP WAS GOOD TO GO. I MADE IT ABOUT 180 MILES AND HAD JUST GOTTEN BACK ONTO I-70 IN COLORADO WHEN THE ISSUE RETURNED. ENGINE STALLED OUT, DROPPED SPEED TO ZERO MPH AND PEDALS BECAME UNRESPONSIVE. I HAD TO WAIT SEVERAL HOURS TO BE TOWED TO AURORA, CO TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP (LARRY H MILLER JEEP). MY JEEP WAS WITH LARRY H MILLER FROM JUNE 29TH TO JULY 3RD. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY DROVE IT SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES, DESPITE MY ODOMETER NOT MATCHING THEIR INFORMATION, AND TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NO ISSUE WITH MY JEEP. I MADE IT 10 MILES FROM THE DEALER BEFORE THE STALLING ISSUE RETURNED. THIS ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH ON A CONGESTED NARROW HIGHWAY IN DENVER, CO. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER, THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T HELP AND TO SEE ANOTHER DEALER. I WAS TOWED TO A THIRD DEALER, WHO WAS ALSO NOT ABLE TO FIND ANY ISSUE.

PURCHASED VEHICLE IN MARCH, WENT TO HAVE FIRST OIL CHANGE DONE AND THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE OIL CONSUMPTION. THE DEALERSHIP HAD ME COME IN EVERY 1000 MILES AND AFTER THE 3RD TIME THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE PROBLEM WASN'T GETTING BETTER AND THEY WOULD NEED TO REPLACE MY ENGINE. SO AT 3000 MILES I HAD TO GET MY ENGINE REPLACEMENT. THE DAY I PICKED MY VEHICLE UP FROM THE SERVICE SHOP WHILE DRIVING DOING 40 MPH THE CAR SEIZED UP ON ME AND I HAD TO MAKE MY WAY TO SAFETY AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. I INFORMED MY CASE MANAGER AND WAS TOLD IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN TAKE IT INTO THE SHOP. MONTH LATER ON MY WAY HOME WITH THE KIDS IN THE JEEP DOING 50 MPH THE VEHICLE SEIZED UP AGAIN AND I HAD TO PULL OFF TO SAFETY AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. I TOOK THE JEEP IN TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT SAME DAY. 4 DAYS LATER THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY FIXED IT AND I COULD COME PICK IT. ON SUNDAY, JULY 21ST I WAS HEADING OUT OF TOWN ON THE HIGHWAY DOING 70 MPH AND THE VEHICLE SEIZED UP ON ME. WENT FROM 70 MPH TO 44 MPH WHICH ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THERE WAS 7 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND CONSTRUCTION GOING ON WHICH MADE IT HARD TO GET OFF TO THE SIDE. AFTER THAT IT TOOK ME 15 MINUTES TO GET BACK ON THE HWY AND WORK MY WAY ACROSS 7 LINES OF TRAFFIC. ONCE I MADE IT TO THE RIGHT LANE I HEARD A THUMP AND MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT EXCEL FASTER THAN 30 MPH. I FINALLY MADE IT OFF THE HWY AND WHILE SITTING AT THE LIGHT THE VEHICLE SEIZED UP AGAIN AND I HAD TO RESTART IT 3 TIMES TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE LIGHT.

I WAS DRIVING THE OTHER DAY AND TURNED INTO TRAFFIC WHEN UNEXPECTEDLY THE LOW OIL LIGHT CAME ON IN MY VEHICLE AND IT COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN! TOTAL POWER LOSS. I WAS ALMOST DEMOLISHED BY A FULLY LOADED LOG TRUCK. I PARKED THE CAR AND CHECKED THE OIL PER THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL PROCEDURE. IT WAS OVER 2 QTS. LOW IN 5,000 MILES OF DRIVING. I HAVE TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE JEEP DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO PROVIDE ME WITH ANY REPAIR DOCUMENTS AFTER INSPECTION. THEY TOLD ME THE PROBLEM IS WELL KNOWN BUT FCA IS DOING NOTHING TO REMEDY IT AND THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT GOING TO DO ANY FURTHER EVALUATION INTO THE PROBLEM.THIS WAS NOT DISCLOSED TO ME IN ANY WAY BEFORE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NOR IS IT MENTIONED OR INCLUDED AT ALL IN THE OWNERS/ MAINTENANCE MANUAL. IN ADDITION I HAD TO PAY $85.00 FOR AN OIL CHANGE THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE EVEN BEEN NECESSARY. THESE VEHICLES ARE NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. THE VECHILE HAS STALLED ON ME BEFORE WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AND WHILST DRIVING ON BUSY HIGHWAYS. I HAVE MADE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND MADE ATTEMPTS TO HAVE THE ISSUE CORRECTED (OIL CONSUMPTION TEST, REPLACING THE PCV VALVE) AND YET THE ISSUE STILL EXISTS. JEEP STAFF MEMBERS THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP ALONG WITH MEMBERS FROM JEEP HEADQUARTERS KEEP ATTEMPTING TO INFORM ME "IT'S NORMAL, JUST KEEP PUTTING OIL IN IT.." I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH THIS RESPONSE. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. IT IS NOT ONLY HAZARDOUS TO MYSELF AS THE DRIVER, BUT ALSO THE PUBLIC WHEN THE CAR DOES STALL.

BOUGHT MY JEEP BRAND NEW IN JUNE 2018. WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH, THE USB PORT THAT CONNECTS TO CAR PLAY WOULD CONNECT THEN DISCONNECT WHEN IT RAINED. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T IDENTIFY THE ISSUE UNLESS I BROUGHT IT IS WHEN THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AND SHOWED THEM. WHICH I COULDN'T BECAUSE THEY WERE ALWAYS CLOSED WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED. WITHIN THAT SAME MONTH, WHEN I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES IT SOUNDED LIKE THERE WAS AIR IN THE BRAKE LINE. EVERY SO OFTEN, THE SATELLITE RADIO WILL CUT OUT AND SAY "ACQUIRING SIGNAL". CAR HAS ALSO STALLED OUT ON ME 3 TIMES WHILE DRIVING. MANUAL SAYS EVERY 6000 MILES. OIL RUNS OUT BEFORE THE 6000 MILE MARK.IF I KNEW I'D BE PAYING OUT SO MUCH IN OIL , I WOULDN'T HAVE PAID SO MUCH FOR THIS STUPID TRUCK. ITS A COMPLETE RIP OFF. ONE OF THE TIMES IT STALLED OUT, I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. IT STALLED OUT JUST AS I WAS TURNING AND A CAR WAS COMING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION AND ALMOST HIT ME. MY WIFE HAS HAD HER RENEGADE FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS NOW. WE PURCHASED IT BRAND NEW. AFTER A COUPLE MINUTES IT FINALLY STARTED BACK AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT OFF THE ROAD. ONCE OFF THE ROAD SHE LET IT SIT AND STARTED IT BACK UP AND ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE HOME BUT IT CUT OFF AGAIN. WE LEFT IT OVER NIGHT AT THE SHERIFF'S DEPT AND GOT IT THE NEXT DAY AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. WE TOLD THEM WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND THEY KEPT IT FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. SO AFTER DRIVING IT FOR ANOTHER COUPLE OF DAYS IT STARTED MESSING UP AGAIN. SO YET AGAIN WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY KEPT IT FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND SAID THEY FIXED IT. NOW AFTER A COUPLE OF MONTHS ITS DOING THE SAME THING AS BEFORE AND ABOUT CAUSED HER TO GET HIT. IT'S BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP SO HOPEFULLY THEY WILL FIGURE IT OUT. BUT AFTER READING ALL OF THE REPORTS FROM OTHER PEOPLE I DON'T HAVE MUCH FAITH IN THAT. HOPEFULLY JEEP WILL SWALLOW THEIR PRIDE AND RECALL THE VEHICLES BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED.

VEHICLE STALLED WHILE PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC, ANOTHER TIME IT DIDN'T START AFTER A FEW TRIES VEHICLE STARTED. STALLED A SECOND AND THIRD TIME BUT I NOTICED THE OIL INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON FOR A TENTH OF A SECOND THEN WENT OUT. RETURNED HOME AND CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL. (VEHICLE WAS JUST IN FOR A 1000 MILE COURTESY CHECK BY THE DEALER VEHICLE HAD 2660 MILES ON ODOMETER) SERVICE MANAGER SAID EVERYTHING IS OK AND WE LEFT. ODOMETER HAS 2975 MILES WHEN THIS SHUTTING OFF OCCURRED. WHEN DIP STICK WAS READ IT WAS READING THE VERY TIP OF THE STICK. I ADDED 3 QTS. OF MANUFACTURES RECOMMENDED OIL AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO READ THE CODES AND ASK WHY I WAS OUT OF OIL WITH NO OIL INDICATOR LIGHT ON. SAFETY CONCERN IS THIS ENGINE PER THE SERVICE MANAGER IS PROGRAMMED TO SHUT OFF IN THE EVENT OF A LOW OIL PRESSURE. THE ISSUE I HAVE IS THAT YOU DO NOT GET ANY WARNING THAT YOU HAVE LOW OIL PRESSURE UNTIL THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF AND THEN YOU REALLY DON'T KNOW WHY.

I TOOK IT TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT I WAS OUT OF OIL. THEY TOPPED IT OFF AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. AT 5,500 MILES MY CAR SHUT OFF ON ME AGAIN WHILE DRIVING. THIS WAS VERY SCARY. IT OCCURRED WHILE MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN AT A LARGE INTERSECTION. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO GET HIT. LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND CAR TOOK TIME TO RESTART. I SHUT OFF RADIO, WIPERS AND ALL ELECTRICAL AND AFTER I HIT TO RESTART IT SOUNDS LIKE IT IS REALLY TRYING, BUT IT EVENTUALLY DOES START. STICKER DEALERSHIP PUT ON MY WINDOW WAS FOR OIL CHANGE AT 10087 MILES, I WAS AT 9600. HAD CAR TOWED BY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND WAITED FOR MONDAY MORNING TO GO TO DEALERSHIP. FIRST DEALERSHIP LITERALLY SENT ME A TEXT TELLING ME I HAD TO PAY 135.00 DIAGNOSIS LABOR COST UP FRONT, WHILE MY CAR IS UNDER WARRANTY, I TOLD THEM NOT TO TOUCH THE CAR AND HAD IT TOWED TO ANOTHER DEALER. THEY ALSO GAVE ME A VERY HARD TIME, BUT FINALLY AFTER 5 HOURS TOLD ME IT AGAIN WAS "OIL CONSUMPTION" ISSUE, THAT THEY WOULD DO OIL CHANGE, AND THAT I AM TO TAKE IT IN TO DEALERSHIP AT 1000 MILES REGARDLESS OF ISSUE HAPPENING AGAIN. OH AND THEY TRIED CHARGING ME 78.25 FOR OIL CHANGE, WHICH WAS QUICKLY CHANGED TO 0 BY SERVICE MANAGER WHO SAID I SHOULD NOT BE CHARGED ANYTHING SINCE MY CAR IS UNDER 10000 MILES. I WAS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED AS THAT VEHICLE HAD ISSUES FROM DAY ONE AND DEALER COULDN'T FIX THEM. NO OFFER FROM DEALERSHIP TO ALLOW ME TO RETURN IT. SO OUT OF FRUSTRATION I TRADED IT IN FOR A MUCH HIGHER COST VEHICLE IN HOPES THE ISSUES WOULD BE GONE WITH A BRAND NEW VEHICLE OF A HIGHER PRICE AND PACKAGE. NOT SO! IN ADDITION THE UCONNECT 4 W/7" DISPLAY STARTED LOCKING A WEEK AGO AND WOULD NOT LET ME TURN IT OFF, CHANGE TEMPERATURE INSIDE VEHICLE, EVEN LOCKED OUT THE MANUAL CONTROLS OF HEATER/AC TEMPS,FAN COULD NOT BE CHANGED, RADIO STOPPED PLAYING. NO MATTER WHAT I TRIED NOTHING WORKED. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND SHUT VEHICLE OFF AND RESTART. WITHIN A MILE DOWN THE ROAD IT LOCKED UP AGAIN AND THIS TIME SAME PROBLEMS WITH NON REPSONSIVE CONTROLS AS WELL AS THE VIDEO DISPLAY BEGAN FLICKERING IN LOWER LEFT HAND OF SCREEN. I WAITED TILL I GOT TO MY DESTINATION AND SHUT VEHICLE OFF. WHEN I CAME OUT TO LEAVE IT WAS SOMEWHAT WORKING AGAIN. PRIOR TO THIS ISSUE WITH UCONNECT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TO DEALERSHIP TWICE. FIRST TIME THEY CLAIMED THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE 2ND TIME I WAS TOLD THE REMOTE STARTER WAS A KNOWN ISSUE SINCE 4/2018 WITH NO KNOWN REMEDY AND THE RADIO UCONNECT SYSTEM WAS DEFECTIVE AND A NEW RADIO WAS ORDERED BUT WAS BACKORDERED WITH NO KNOWN DATE OF AVAILABILITY. SO I HAVE A VERY EXPENSIVE VEHICLE WITH JUST OVER 1,000 MILES WITH SERIOUS AND POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ISSUES WITH IT.

I READ OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE VEHICLE TO SHUTDOWN COMPLETELY , BUT THIS DID NOT HAPPEN TO ME THIS TIME. WHEN YOU CHECK THE OIL IT IS IN FACT LOW. THE ENGINES OIL CONSUMPTION IS RIDICULOUS. YOUR ENGINE MAY CONSUME OVER THREE QUARTERS OF THE REQUIRED OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. MINE WAS BARELY TOUCHING THE DIP STICK AND THE VEHICLE HOLDS 5.5 QUARTS OF OIL. THE DEALERSHIP IS NOT HELPFUL AS THEY SAY IT IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE WITH THE ENGINE AND THEY WILL JUST DOCUMENT IT IF I HAVE TROUBLE LATER ON. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING TO ANY NEW VEHICLE AND IT'S NOT COMMON FOR A VEHICLE TO USE THREE QUARTERS OF THE REQUIRED OIL WITHIN AN OIL CHANGE. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 5,249 MILES ON IT AND THE FIRST OIL CHANGE. AS A CONSUMER WE SHOULD NOT BE EXPECTED TO KEEP CHECK OF THE OIL CONSUMPTION ON A VEHICLE THAT IS BRAND NEW.

I FELT VERY UNSAFE DURING THE TIME IT TOOK ME TO RESTART THE ENGINE. THAT NIGHT WHEN I CHECKED THE DIPSTICK THERE WAS NO OIL. THE NEXT DAY I GOT AN OIL CHANGE AND HAVEN'T HAD A PROBLEM SINCE. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO TELL ME WHY THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH OIL IN THE ENGINE.

THE FOLLOWING DAY, VEHICLE DRIVES AS IF PUTTING IN GAS WHILE IN PARK, BUT IS STILL ABLE TO DRIVE ALONG WITH STOPPING AND GOING WHILE ACCELERATING. NOW, THE VEHICLE CANNOT ACCELERATE PAST 15 MPH, AND STILL HOLD THE PROBLEMS PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED.

WHILE DRIVING, MY JEEP RENEGADE WILL JUST TURN OFF. I HAVE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TRY TO RESTART THE CAR A COUPLE OF TIMES. THIS WILL CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT TO SOMEONE SOMEDAY. IT JUST SHUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING. IT'S A 2018 JEEP RENEGADE WITH 5K MILES! WHY WOULD IT JUST SHUT OFF? I WAS DRIVING BOTH TIMES THIS HAPPENED TO ME. ONCE LAST WEEK AND ONCE TODAY 12/26/2018. THE LIGHTS BLINK SAYING ENGINE SYSTEM/MAINTENANCE AND LOW OIL PRESSURE. I HAVE READ ONLINE THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH JEEP RENEGADES, BUT JEEP WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. HOW DOES THIS GET FIXED? SOMEONE COULD GET KILLED.

MY CAR STARTING DISPLAYING THAT THE OIL PRESSURE WAS LOW, AND IS NOT BEEN THE FIRST OIL CHANGE, I HAD 4353 MILES ON IT, AND WHEN I CHECK THE OIL THERE WAS NONE, HAD TO PUT IN 5 QUARTS OF OIL TO TOP IT, TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY PUT IN THE SCANNER(IT DOESNT WORK) AND THEY SAID THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG, THEY TOLD ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN 1000 MILES EXACTLY AFTER THEY CHANGED THE OIL, 650 MILES AFTER AND THE LIGHT OF THE OIL WHEN ON AGAIN

WHILE DRIVING THE CAR, LOST ALL POWER. PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE ENGINE WAS NO LONGER RUNNING. THE D FOR DRIVE WAS FLASHING ON THE DASH AND A MESSAGE POPPED UP SAYING TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK TO START ENGINE. THIS HAPPENED AT LEAST 7 TIMES AND IT'S A BRAND NEW CAR WITH JUST 1300 MILES ON IT. *DT UPDATED 11/30/18*JB

VEHICLE STALLING AND DYING WHILE TRYING TO DRIVE. I CAN SIT FOR 10 MIN AND IT HESITATES SO I HAVE TO PUT IT IN PARK AND STOP (SOMETIME WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD) IT SEEMS IF I LEAVE IT RUNNING FOR ABOUT 20 MIN IT WILL DO THIS THEN THE WHOLE FRONT END SHAKES AND IT AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS ITS SELF OFF. AND IN ORDER TO DRIVE IT I HAVE TO LEAVE IT TURNED OFF FOR ABOUT 30 MIN THEN IT WILL RUN OK... I'VE TAKEN IT TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP TWICE THEY CAN SEEM TO REPLICATE IT (IF THEY EVEN REALLY TRIED TO) I JUST PURCHASED THIS LESS THAN TWO MONTHS AGO HAD ONLY 6 MILES ON IT. ITS A 2018 JEEP RENEGADE LIMITED 2X4.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 JEEP RENEGADE. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE PULLED FROM FRONT TO BACK AND THEN STALLED. ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS POWERED OFF WHILE IN TRAFFIC. ONCE RESTATED, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED A FEW MILES DOWN THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TOWED TO DICK POE CHRYSLER JEEP (LOCATED AT 6501 MONTANA AVE, EL PASO, TX 79925, (915) 778-9331). THE DEALER PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, BUT A FAILURE CODE COULD NOT BE FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,700.

BOUGHT NEW 2018 JEEP RENEGADE. TRAVELING FROM PANAMA CITY FLORIDA TO A NEW DUTY STATION AT FT. BLISS (EL PASO TEXAS). AT AROUND 400 MILES ON THE VEHICLE ODOMETER, WINDSHIELD STARTED CRACKING. AT AROUND 1400 MILES ON VEHICLE ODOMETER, TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE FAILED 5 SEPARATE TIMES WHILE TRYING TO GET TO A SAFE PLACE TO PULL OVER. WE WERE TRAVELING WEST ON INTERSTATE 10, POSTED SPEED LIMIT 80 MPH, APPROXIMATELY 4 FOOT OF SHOULDER SOME AREAS, ZERO FEET WHERE GUARD RAILS WERE.
