I am writing to file a formal safety complaint regarding my 2021 Jeep Renegade, which has been experiencing sudden, unprovoked automatic braking for almost a year. The issue began in Spring [Year], and over the past two months, it has become significantly more frequent. The vehicle brakes sharply on its own even when there are no obstacles, cars, or objects in front of us. This happens at normal driving speeds and creates a serious risk of rear-end collisions—especially dangerous on highways. We have a baby, and this malfunction has put our family in frightening situations multiple times. We’ve brought the vehicle to the dealer and service center several times, but they claim no error code shows up, so no repair is made. The car is currently at the service center again, and still no resolution. We’ve also requested assistance from our Jeep case manager, but no effective action has been taken. There are additional issues such as: •The door locks stop working after it rains, requiring us to use the physical key in the door. •The sunroof stopped working, even though it was replaced two years ago (this is currently being addressed, but remains part of the larger reliability concern). All of my warning/service lights came on, my car wouldn’t accelerate, one of the warning lights said it had to be in stop to brake and start, my dash won’t light up which shows my fuel levels, other info. My car stopped in traffic completely, I had you out my four ways on, hit the start/stop button. It was so scary!

ON FEB. 6.2022 THERE WAS ANOTHER CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING WENT OFF AND WARNED OF SOMEONE IMMEDIATLY STOPPING IN FRONT OF ME AS THE RED STOP WARNING CAME ACROSS THE DASH LIKE IT HAS IN THE PAST IN THEN FAILED AND THEN THE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON ALONG WITH 4X4 FAILURE NOTICE AND EVERYTHING ELSE I TOOK IT TO MAZDA INSTEAD OF JEEP BECAUSE THEY ADVISED THEY HAVE A 2 WEEK BACKLOG OF ISSUES AND CANNOT GET A RENTAL CARE NOR A VALID ETA ON FIXING VEHICLE. When traveling with the cruise control on, on the expressway, the speeddometer started to flicker on and off then totally went off. It lasted a couple of seconds and when it came back on my speed was at 55 mph. I was traveling at 75 when it started. This happens alot. Also the radio will sometimes blast its volume, change stations on its own or won't shut off. Last week my rear window went down and wouldn't go back up. These things happen occasionally but after shutting off the car and waiting it seems to clear for awhile. I took it into the dealer and was told there was nothing they could do, they had to wait for a fix for the software from Chrysler. I spoke with people from Chrysler and they told me the same thing. I leased this car in March and it is now August. How long do I have to wait for a fix? I am getting scared driving this car.
