The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE. The contact stated that upon coming to a complete stop at a stop sign, the message "Please Shift to Park" was displayed, and the contact became aware that the vehicle had no drive power. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle returned to normal functionality. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by the dealer or an independent mechanic. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V710000 (Electrical System), which included the VIN, but the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was unknown.

The drive indicator suddenly started flashing, the red wrench light came on, the check engine light came on. I pulled over a little on the road and put the jeep in park. I was unable to move the vehicle. It would not come out of gear. I had to turn the jeep off. Then restarted it and was able to get it into gear however the check engine light remained on.

Follow-Up to Complaint #11696210 This is a formal update to my original safety complaint regarding my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN: [XXX] ), which suddenly decelerated from 50 mph to 10 mph on October 11, 2025 — a terrifying incident that occurred immediately after an over-the-air (OTA) Uconnect software update. Since submitting the original complaint, Jeep/Uconnect confirmed that my vehicle was affected by the faulty OTA update, but they have refused to provide any documentation of what occurred. They admitted the update was involved but claimed they had “no access” to the engineering or software details. They referred me back to the dealership, which had originally denied any recall existed and still has not provided a clear explanation of what was done. I have made repeated attempts to escalate my case through Jeep, Uconnect, and Stellantis, but: -My case was closed prematurely despite the seriousness of the issue -No one will provide documentation of what software version was installed, rolled back, or repaired -No one will confirm whether the recall fix was fully implemented -All email escalation contacts have since been removed I’ve been left without answers and with growing concerns about my safety in this vehicle The recall issued days after my incident matches exactly what happened to me, yet I’ve been treated as though this was an unrelated or minor issue. It was not. I was extremely lucky I wasn’t in heavy traffic when the malfunction occurred. I am urging NHTSA to further investigate Jeep/Stellantis's handling of this recall, including their lack of transparency, poor documentation practices, and refusal to provide consumers with the information they need to feel safe in their vehicles. I am submitting this formal escalation request regarding my 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe (VIN XXX). My vehicle has an extensive and well-documented history of mechanical failure, unresolved safety concerns, and open recalls without available remedies. I am requesting immediate senior-level review and written confirmation of the vehicle’s current stop-sale / stop-drive status and repair pathway. Timeline of Key Events February 9, 2024 — Full Engine Replacement: At approximately four months old, the engine failed completely and required a full replacement at Mullahey CDJR. Vehicle was inoperative for 28–29 days. Stellantis Case #XXX(“Gigi”) was opened. I reported significant inconvenience, lack of a comparable rental, and concern about future reliability. October 2024 — Second Breakdown / Powertrain Issues: Vehicle experienced additional engine and powertrain failures resulting in renewed service delays. Stellantis Case #XXX(2024) was opened. Case managed by Dustin Keyes (ext. XXX). Issues included loss of power, extensive repair wait times, and no clarity on whether the vehicle was placed under a formal stop-sale / stop-drive hold during the repairs. October 2025 — Active Federal Safety Recall: The vehicle is now listed under NHTSA Recall 25V-710 (Stellantis A7C) — “Recall Incomplete – Remedy Not Yet Available.” Defect involves loss of motive power while driving due to internal communication failures between the HCP and TBM modules. There is no current remedy, creating an ongoing safety risk. Conflicting Case Status Oct 27 2025 7:30 a.m. PT: Customer Care agent Gerry confirmed Case #XXX is open and assigned to Patricia Miller. Oct 28 2025 10:42 a.m. PT: An email from [email protected] stated that “there is no active case open for you or manager handling your file.” As of today, no one from Stellantis management or the assigned case handler has contacted me.

The engine began sounding like a diesel and pushing the gas pedal made the car surge/lurch. Then, while driving in rush hour traffic, the car went into what I now know is called “limp mode” where I could not accelerate and I received a warning that told me to pull the car over.

2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe VIN: [XXX] I have driven 4 other 4xe 2024 in the last two months as rental cars and have noticed my jeep is not performing anywhere near the other four, I have driven. Seems like my jeep isn’t tuned correctly or the engine/transmission has an issue. Engine: -When starting and as engine warming up it shakes the care periodically. There are times when it will shake the car as it heats up, rocking the car slightly and you can hear the engine make a weird knocking noise. -This also occurs when in E-Save mode and charging the battery is selected. The engine does not idle smooth all the time and sometimes runs rough then goes back to normal -There does not seem to be much torque Transmission: -The 1st – 3rd gear shift at high RPM times even when barley giving it any gas. -The transmission shifts down into 2nd gear at around 18-20 mph when gradually slowing down in traffic causing the jeep to slow down quickly and throws you forward. If you catch it during its shift (which is longer than any other gear) it will slam into 2nd and then back into 3rd gear. You lose power as it takes several seconds to complete the shifting. -The gear I feel should smoothly shift into and out of 2nd at around 15 mph, like it does in the cars I rented. oDoes the shift timing need to be remapped or reset? Software update: -The software update pushed on the home screen several weeks ago to update the camera, and some other items has caused my gauge cluster to flash a lot when using CarPlay GPS. In stead of the turn by turn on the cluster it flashes. I continues to have issue and causing me to lose power or significantly slow down and not able to accelerate in Atlanta traffic. Something is wrong with this Jeep brand... INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

While driving in electric mode, sometimes I would lose power. One example is on the freeway while cruising at freeway speeds. I noticed my speed decreases and i have to press the accelerator pedal more than normal. Even after depressing it more than normal, the gauge on the battery power wont move and the speed continues to decrease (charge level can be at 50%, 80%, or lower). It also happens to me after stops at stop sign or intersection. When in EV mode, my light would turn green or its clear to continue into the intersection, the vehicle will barely creep out of a stop to the point that I would almost get t-boned at a T intersection. I have to floor the accelerator down to the floor in order to get the gas engine to turn on (while in EV mode with adequate charge on battery) and violently push me forward. Happens a few times a week both on highway or intersections.

As I was driving on the interstate, a red turtle appeared on the control panel saying that power has been reduced. Approximately 2 minutes later the entire engine shut down at 55mph. I pulled over and placed the Jeep into park and attempted to restart the truck. The Jeep would power on and immediately shut off. I called a tow truck and had it towed to the dealership (Tate Chrysler and Jeep in Glen Burnie, MD) where it is currently being serviced.

Driving Jeep down the road and it cuts off and comes to a halt. It will eventually start back up but check engine light comes on. Took to dealer and they claim it was a flash update, but it has now shut off on us again while driving it. This is VERY dangerous to say the least. Especially if it happens on a major busy highway. It could easily cause a wreck.

Car stopped dead with a total power failure in the left lane on [XXX] between NJ/NY. there was no warning light or any other prior notification to attempt to take evasive action. This was at night with other vehicles traveling at high speed on the road as well. Lucky to be alive. The vehicle was towed into the Jeep dealer on Rt 18 in New Jersey and they returned it saying they had applied a "software update." Glad they feel like a software update is worth someone's life. Vehicle engine shut down while driving and was disabled creating dangerous condition. Vehicle would not start and had to be towed to local service department

On two separate occasions while driving my vehicle, I lost the ability to accelerate although my car still appeared to be on and functioning normally. This resulted in me needing to pull over to a complete stop on the highway as the accelerator was completely ineffective and I continued to decelerate to unsafe highway speeds. I had to turn the jeep off and then back on to get it to work normally again. I contacted the dealership regarding this matter and they advised they did an “update” on the vehicle on 6/3/24.

I picked up my new wrangler from the dealer on Friday [XXX]. On Saturday [XXX], I was driving on [XXX] on my way to Amherst, MA. Since I was on the highway, I was traveling between 65-75 mph. About 30 minutes into the trip the vehicle began to jerk and the engine was sputtering. When pushing on the gas pedal the car would jerk and lose any acceleration. I began to slow down as the car jerked and lost all acceleration. I had to pull over on the busy highway as the car could not maintain speed over 30 mph. I luckily was about two miles from a rest area and I drove in the shoulder and exited. The check engine light was on and the engine was making a very loud noise and seemed to be stuck in a high gear. Once we were safely in the parking area, I turned off the engine and the vehicle was towed to a dealer in Albany NY. The car remained at the dealer and I picked it up on Wednesday [XXX]. The tech at the dealer said they applied a bunch of software updates, road tested it and everything seemed good. I picked up the car on Wednesday [XXX]. On Thursday [XXX] after driving roughly 30 miles in total, the vehicle did the same thing while driving. This time I was in a residential area. I had to turn around and lump to park the car in my parents driveway. The car was subsequently towed back to the repair shop on Friday [XXX]. I am currently awaiting an update on status.

I was driving and more then 10 times my car has stalled in the middle of the street while driving and the gear “D” began blinking and note has displayed on the screen saying “shift to P then to gear” and said “check transmission” after shifting to park, the car locked up and I then had to shut off the car, open the door and then turn the car back on to get it to drive again. This happened multiple times and happens every time the vehicle come to a stop at a red light or stop sign. I took the vehicle to the dealership and explained the problem and they placed me in a loaner car for a day or 2. When I was called to come the car everything seemed fine. They said the car “needed to be updated” I drove off and it was okay that afternoon and had no begun to stall and shut off in the street once again.

I stopped at a stop light and the car shut down and an error display to "service Transmission" and the gear shift would not move. A few seconds later the error changed to “Park Brake Auto Engaged Press Brake + Push Switch to Release” I did this several times. After about 10 minutes the vehicle started with a service error message stil on the dash.

Feb 27, 2024

Well this is the second time in a week. “service transmission” comes on the dash and turns vehicle off. Cannot do anything but put in park. Sit for 10 to 15 mins and the vehicle will turn on again. Has no codes for the dealer to check. Will not drive again until its fixed.

Just leaving the parking garage after work, I was exiting and the my jeep wrangler just turned off. Light flashed service transmission and shift vehicle park. Once I shifted the vehicle to park and tried to start nothing happened. After about 5 mins and blocking all traffic trying to leave the parking garage my jeep started. Not sure what’s up but if this happens at freeway speed it could be dangerous.
