I BOUGHT MY JEEP 12/12/16 AND IT HAD 43,319 MILES ON IT. ON 2/7/17 AT 45,233 MILES I HAD THE FIRST ENGINE REPLACEMENT DONE. ON 5/17/17 AT 46,552 MILES I HAD THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT. ON 11/1/18 AT 65,858 MILES I HAD THE SECOND ENGINE REPLACEMENT. ON 3/8/19 AT 68,980 MILES I HAD THE THIRD REPLACEMENT ENGINE INSTALLED. I GOT MY JEEP BACK ON 4/15/19 AND NOW I HEAR A TICKING LIKE SOUND AND I'M TOLD IT COULD BE AN EXHAUST LEAK. ALSO, BEFORE I GOT THE THIRD ENGINE INSTALLED THE JEEP WOULD POP OUT OF FIRST GEAR WHEN I START TO ACCELERATE, JUST LIKE BEFORE. I TALKED TO THE MECHANIC WHO REBUILT MY TRANSMISSION AND HE SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2007 JEEP WRANGLER. HE SAID HE COULD FIX IT, BUT EVENTUALLY IT WILL START POPPING OUT OF FIRST GEAR AGAIN.

MY JEEP WITH 86K MILES ENGINE BLEW. ONE WEEK EARLIER WHEN DRIVING OVER 40 MILES PER HOUR IT SEEMED TO WOBBLE A BIT FROM LEFT TO RIGHT, I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS BECAUSE I HAD 4 WHEEL DRIVE ON. I HAVE ONLY OWNED IT FOR A MONTH AND IT IS A 2ND VEHICLE AND I WAS NOT SURE IF THAT WAS NORMAL OR NOT. THEN AFTER NOT DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR 4 DAYS I MOVED IT OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND WAS LESS THEN A BLOCK FROM MY HOME WHEN THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON AND HALF A BLOCK LATER THE ENGINE CUT OUT. THE CAR WOULDNT START AGAIN AND I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED IT. THEY TOLD ME THE INTERNAL FUEL PUMP SEEMED TO MALFUNCTION AND THE ENGINE WAS BLOWN! WHEN I RETURNED HOME I NOTICED A POOL OF OIL IN MY DRIVEWAY. THIS CAR SAT FOR DAYS AND WAS BARELY DRIVEN BY ME SINCE MY PURCHASE. HOW DOES AN ENGINE AT 86K MILES JUST BLOW? HOW DOES OIL JUST DUMP OUT OF A VEHICLE? WHY? WELL DOING INTERNET RESEARCH IT APPEARS THAT THIS 2007 ENGINE YEAR THERE WAS A MISTAKE IN THE ENGINES WHERE PISTONS WERE PUT IN UPSIDE DOWN? THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THIS AND MANY 2007 JEEPS HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN. I AM LUCKY IT HAPPENED ON A LOCAL ROAD, IF I WAS DRIVING 65 IN MIDDLE LANE OF A HIGHWAY AND MY ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF I WOULD BE DEAD. I COULDNT STEER IT. IT JUST STOPPED..... I HAVE TRIED CALLING CHRYSLER AND HAVE BEEN TRANSFERED MANY TIMES TO OTHER PEOPLE, I AM AT A LOSS OF WHAT TO DO. AGAIN, I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE 1.5 MONTHS...

MY JEEP WILL START BUT NO GAUGES OR LIGHT ON DASH COME ON, THE WIPERS TURN ON AT FULL POWER. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE JEEP WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE TIPM IS CAUSING THE ISSUES.

JEEP VIOLENTLY POPS OUT OF FIRST GEAR WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE L. HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. FROM DOING RESEARCH ONLINE THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE WHO OWN THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION JEEP JK MODEL. THIS CAN BE EXCEPTIONALLY DANGEROUS WHEN GOING THROUGH INTERSECTIONS OR CHANGING LANES AS THE JEEP WILL POP OUT IF GEAR AND NO LONGER ACCELERATE. THIS HAS HAPPENED SINCE DAY ONE OF ME PURCHASING IT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER SAHARA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE GEAR WAS SHIFTED, THE CLUTCH PLATE SQUEAKED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH PLATE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.

MY HOT OIL LIGHT COMES ON GOING ON INCLINES IN 2WD OR 4WD WHEN MY TRANNY FLUID GETS HOT IT SHOOTS FLUID OUT OF THE TRANNY LINES @ FITTINGS! I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER AND WENT TO MY LOCAL DEALER AND THEY SAY I NEED A TRANNY COOLER BUT I FEEL THEY SHOULD DO THE WORK SINCE THEY KNOW OF THE ISSUES ALL 4DR AUTO JKS ARE HAVING AND SINCE THEY DID INSTALL THE HOTOIL LIGHT ON IT A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO ! ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS MY 2007 JEEP WRANGLER JK HAS "POPPED" OUT OF GEAR. USUALLY DOES THIS IN 1ST GEAR, THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AS WHEN IT HAPPENS I AM STRANDED A FEW FEET FROM WHERE I STARTED OFF. I AM ONLY WAITING FOR THE TIME THAT IT HAPPENS IN FRONT OF ANOTHER VEHICLE IN AN INTERSECTION. IT IS SCARY, OTHER THAN SAFETY IT IS ALSO A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE AND MAKES ME FEEL THAT I AM GOING TO DAMAGE MY TRANSMISSION AND MY CLUTCH. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER SAHARA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR SHIFTER CABLE FAILED AND THE VEHICLE GEAR WOULD NOT ENGAGE IN PARK. THE CONTACT HAD TO PLACE THE CABLE BACK ON THE GEAR SHIFTER MANUALLY IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE THE PARK POSITION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 105,000.

WHILE PULLING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY, MY JEEP JUMPED OUT OF 1ST GEAR. AS I LET OFF OF THE CLUTCH AND BEGAN TO ROLL IT VIOLENTLY JUMPED OUT OF GEAR. I HAD ENOUGH SPEED FOR MY JEEP TO ACTUALLY ENTER TRAFFIC. BY THE TIME I FIGURED OUT WHAT HAD ACTUALLY HAPPENED I WAS IN TRAFFIC AND WAS ALMOST HIT BY AN ONCOMING CAR. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM AND JEEP IS ONLY OFFERING TO REPAIR IT IF IT IS UNDER WARRANTY. MY JEEP ONLY HAS 53K MILES ON IT AND IT HAS DONE THIS A FEW TIMES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS. IN MY OPINION JEEP SHOULD RECALL THIS AS A SAFETY RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE IS INJURED OR KILLED. *TR

SHIFTING THE 4-WHEEL DRIVE TRANSFER CASE (TC) FROM 2HI TO 4HI OR 4LOW (OR IN REVERSE ORDER) CAN CAUSE THE TRANSFER CASE SHIFTING CABLE (TCSC) (MOPAR PART 52060462AG) TO FAIL AND BECOME DISCONNECTED FROM EITHER THE TC OR THE SHIFT LEVER IN THE CAB (OR BOTH). THE PART''S PLASTIC COMPONENTS ARE INHERENTLY TOO WEAK TO WITHSTAND NORMAL USE. SAFETY RISKS WHICH CAN ARISE UPON COMPONENT FAILURE, IF THE VEHICLE OWNER AND THEIR FAMILY (CHILDREN) ARE AT A LOCATION AND/OR TERRAIN WHERE THE VEHICLE IS DESIGNED/MARKETED FOR TRAVEL (WHETHER BY RECREATION OR NECESSITY), AND THE LOCATION/TERRAIN IS: (I) SUBJECT TO INCLEMENT WEATHER (E.G. THERE IS NO REASON THAT JEEP CANNOT DO THE SAME AND/OR CONTRACT WITH ADVANCE ADAPTORS TO SUPPLY THE PART TO JEEP OWNERS. WE URGE NHTSA'S INVESTIGATION OF THIS SAFETY DEFECT AND JEEP WILL REDESIGN THE DEFECTIVE PART AND ISSUE A RECALL FOR AFFECTED VEHICLES ON WHICH THE PART WAS INSTALLED AS OEM AND TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY TO REPLACEMENT FOR LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. *TR

VEHICLE STALLS OUT IN TRAFFIC, DESPITE BATTERY BEING FULLY CHARGED. WITH A RESTART, THE BATTERY SYMBOL REMAINS ILLUMINATED, AND EVENTUALLY THE VEHICLE WILL STALL OUT AGAIN. OCCURRED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC CREATING TRAFFIC HAZARD. REMAINS A RECURRING PROBLEM THAT IS ONLY REMEDIED BY COMPLETELY SHUTTING OFF ENGINE AND WAITING SEVERAL MINUTES, THEN RESTARTING IT AND CHECKING TO CONFIRM THAT THE BATTERY SYMBOL IS NO LONGER ILLUMINATED. SOMETIMES A BATTERY JUMP-START IS REQUIRED. ONE DANGEROUS ALTERNATIVE IS TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION WHILE VEHICLE IS ROLLING, RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, BUT OBVIOUS HAZARDS OF LOCKED STEERING WHEEL, LOSS OF CONTROL AND POSSIBLE CRASHES WOULD RESULT.

WHILE DRIVING ON PAVED ROADS AT SPEEDS OF 35 MPH OR LESS IN A LOCAL PARK, A LOUD CHIME BEGAN TO SOUND WITH NO CORRESPONDING INDICATOR LIGHT. I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF, WAITED A FEW SECONDS, RESTARTED THE ENGINE, THE CHIME WAS NOT SOUNDING, SO I DROVE HOME. ONCE ON THE HIGHWAY, THE TORQUE CONVERTER WOULD NOT LOCK UP PROPERLY AND CONTINUED TO SLIP FOR SEVERAL MILES UNTIL NORMAL OPERATION RESUMED. AFTER CHECKING EVERYTHING ONCE HOME, IT APPEARS THAT THE CHIME WAS INDICATING THE TRANSMISSION WAS OVERHEATING, EXPLAINING THE MALFUNCTION OF THE TORQUE CONVERTER. I HAVE READ OF OTHERS HAVING SIMILAR EXPERIENCES. I NEED TO STRESS THAT THIS OVER HEATING OCCURRED UNDER NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS. *TR UPDATED 05/24/10*JB

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 JEEP WRANGLER SAHARA. WHEN THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS INCLUDING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MOVE FORWARD ALTHOUGH THE RPMS CONTINUED TO INCREASE. THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN FOR MORE THAN 45 MINUTES OR AN HOUR. THE DEALER ATTEMPTED TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE ON 12 OCCASIONS. EVENTUALLY, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE GEAR. THE DEALER FLUSHED THE TRANSMISSION AND MADE OTHER ADJUSTMENTS INCLUDING REBUILDING THE TRANSMISSION. THE FAILURE NO LONGER OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY FAILED TO ACCELERATE NORMALLY. SHE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. SHE ALSO WROTE THEM A LETTER REGARDING THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 25,170. 2007 JEEP WRANGLER SARAHA - SMOKE/STEAM COMING OUT FROM UNDER THE FRONT OF THE HOOD (TWICE). I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY "COULD NOT FIND ANY LEAKS" YESTERDAY, MY TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING, STALLING ME IN THE PATH OF ONLINE TRAFFIC. THIS VEHICLE IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND I AM A SINGLE MOTHER THAT IS AFRAID FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND MY CHILDREN WHO ARE PASSENGERS IN THIS VEHICLE. EACH TIME I VOICE MY CONCERNS TO MY JEEP DEALERSHIP THEY "CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG." I KNOW THAT VEHICLE AS WELL AS YOU WOULD YOUR OWN BODY, AND THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG. *TR
