When braking since these lights are on it will cause issue with the brakes themselves as if they don’t want to brake fully. Now I’m a 32 year old man and am aware of making sure your brakes are good and fully functioning. I’ve noticed also the steering when slowing down too from this. Nothing underneath the vehicle is an issue for steering. All steering components are fully functioning. I’ve noticed issues with the clock spring in the Jeep as well. Sometime it comes and goes (most likely and electoral problem) geez who knew! Haha, however when I’m turning the airbag light will stay on then go off and the lights on the steering wheel themselves with turn off. They’ve been off for awhile now. Since this is happening on a daily basis. When owing down it’s cause a very big issue for me because it will make the jeep want to turn in any direction it may feel and sometimes that direction is in another lane mostly on coming traffic! I have not had the jeep looked at by a dealer but has been by a mechanic with a $3000 scanner and he still has the codes stored for me. No and no.
Wipers immediately stopped working during heavy snow and rain mix. After spending a lot of money and time trying to repair they still did not work. All fuses and wires as well as wiper arms were inspected, the wiper motor and multifunction swith were replaced, my battery was replaced and no wipers. After verifying electrical circuits and power to the wiper motor, it was determined to be an issue in the tipm, apparently a frequent issue with Jeep vehicles. This is a dangerous issue that can cause accidents and certainly does not allow a vehicle to pass a state safety inspection, as in my case. This is an expensive repair that Jeep should be responsible for bt recalling these units on the Wranglers that are so often affected!
The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that occasionally while driving at various speeds, the air bags warning light illuminated. In addition, the seat belt warning light would illuminate while driving downhill. The check engine warning light illuminated on the day the vehicle was purchased. The contact scanned the vehicle with an OBD2 scanner and retrieved a code that the battery might have been disconnected. An appointment was scheduled with the dealer to inspect the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 110,000.

All of my wires on the drivers side is unhooked and hanging. All of my emergency light have came on. The car is running hot and not catching up on proper speed. The car wobbles left and right when going over 40mph. My reverse camera is hanging covering my license plate causing m to consistently get pulled over. There are a lot of safety concerns. The dealer used profanity towards me and told me he was not fixing anything, I better use my warranty. I got what I got!

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, he heard an abnormal whistling sound emanating from the engine compartment, after which he observed smoke emanating from the engine compartment, prompting him to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway. After a visual inspection, the contact observed that the smoke was coming from the alternator, which seemed to be receiving power even though the vehicle was turned off, prompting the contact to disconnect the battery. Upon disconnecting the battery, the smoke dissipated. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but was not yet diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 156,000.

We have been dealing with electrical issues with our Jeep for a few years now. About 2 months ago, the Airbag light turned on the dash, along with the Seatbelt light (although I am buckled in). I have now found that there are up to 6 recalls on the Airbag malfunctioning, but have never receive a recall or mention of this kind of malfunction when buying the car. How can I get this corrected? This car will not keep us safe, better yet pass an inspection with this manufacture's malfunction.
I have Airbag failure. I had it diagnosed by a local mechanic. My Jeep had Airbag failure in the past and the repair was done by Jeep. Jeep refused to pay for it, although the same year of Wrangler was recalled for the Airbag failures. They returned my money almost 2 yrs later. The current Code is B1B02 (Clockspring). In addition to my Airbag light being on, due to failure (defect), my other gauges are not working properly (gasoline etc.) and the electronics will not work now (buttons on steering wheel for cruise control, radio, trip/mileage etc. Jeep dealerships in Illinois have repeatedly stolen parts off my Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, as it is a "Special Edition" Black Ops package. I have also caught a Jeep technician draining my coolant, which he spilled all over my radiator, in an attempt to tell me I had a "leak" and all the coolant is gone. He tried to "bend" my waterpump (in front of me) and I demanded he return my keys & I left. I've run out of reputable dealerships to take my Jeep. PLEASE HELP! I have a disabled child who rides with me & I cannot be without Airbags. Since day of purchase, this Jeep has been riddled with KNOWN DEFECTS. The local mechanic told me there was a Recall. Jeep has not notified me of Recalls or ANY information in several years, as a result of my complaints to the Manufacturer's Administrators about the continuous theft and fraud by their dealerships and the defects in my Jeep.
on 10/18/2023 my 2011 jeep wrangler jk sport was driving on highway I-270 . after driving for 10 miles the jeep started to jump back and forth like it was running out of fuel . then the jeep just died while driving in the fast lane. I managed to get it to the side break down lane by coasting it over with out injury's ,but almost caused tree car crash by them avoiding contact with my jeep. I had the jeep towed home by friend and had it checked out there was not dash lights , not radio , no headlights , and when the key was turned on the dash would not light up or start at all . I call the dealer for there information on this . They told me that the ignition switch was not working. I replaced it with 2 other switches and still same problem . I finally had an associate that works at a dodge dealer come to look at it as a favor. He told me the TIPM module was not working by not allowing power to distribute to the electrical components and also fuel pump. therefore I would have to get the TIPM MODULE replace or repaired . This is not the 1st time he has seen this happen, he has seen lost of complaint on this issue from other owners and repair shops and then told me that I was very lucky that the jeep di not get hit on me injured from it shutting off on the highway. I told him that I would not include his name in my report to you or the dodge dealers , he does not want to get in any trouble or loose his employment and I respect that .
Air bag lights on traction control light on the clock spring is bad dealer won't fix is dispite recalling a haft million jeeps
TIPM failure. Lights, Turn Signals, Fuel Pump, Windshield wiper malfunctions. 89,000 miles on car. Wipers went to constant on. Lights went to off. Turn signals ceased working. This was a know issue for Chrysler. The TIPM was recalled on other Jeep and Chrysler models.
While travelling country road (divided highway) cruising at approximately 65 mph (cruise control engaged) the message indicator went "ding" and the check engine light began flashing. I turned on flashers, slowed down and found a commercial driveway into which I could exit and stop off roadway. After turning off ignition I immediately raised the hood and found active fire (flames) to the rear of the intake manifold and forward of the firewall where the wiring harness is located. I instructed my passenger to immediately exit the vehicle. I had bottles of drinking water with us (hot day in Texas) so I took three or four bottles of water and extinguished the flames from both sides of the upper engine. The flames were immediately extinguished indicating no presence of petroleum products fueling the flames. After ensuring that fire was fully extinguished I called a local towing service to come pick us up and drop the Jeep at a local NAPA repair shop. Shop located and ordered a new wiring harness as opposed to trying to repair existing harness. May file a claim with Auto Insurance after repairs are made.
UNKNOWN but suspected deterioration of steering column clock spring. Radio controls and horn stopped working, then the cruise control stopped working.
JEEP WAS TOWED TO SHOP DUE TO STARTER RANDOMLY CATCHING ON FIRE. ASKED MECHANICS TO CHECK THE ROAD WALK. THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE BUT JEEP BOUNCES ALL OVER THE ROAD. I HAVE DROVE MANY KEEPS AND THIS ISN'T NORMAL AND IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE HEATED SEATS. THEY TURN ON FOR 3-4 SECONDS AND SHUT BACK OFF.

THERE IS A BAD CONNECTION WITH THE GEARS ACCORDING TO THE TRANSMISSION. IT'S SLIPPING AND DELAYED MOVEMENT TO THE VEHICLE. FROM TIME TO TIME, THE VEHICLE WILL SLOW DOWN OR STOP ALL OF A SUDDEN WHEN DRIVING OR TURNING A CORNER. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY IF SOMEONE IS ON YOUR BUTT.

THE CRUISE CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON IF THE BUTTON IS PRESSED BUT THAT IS IT. IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE A WORKING HORN SAFETY!!! I WAS TOLD IT IS THE CLOCKSPRING GOING OUT AND CAUSING ALL THESE ISSUES AND CAUSEING THE AMPLIFIER TO FAIL AND THE STEREO MALFUNCTION AND NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. COSTING A COUPLE THOUSAND DOLLARS.

I CALLED 911, WHO HUNG UP ON ME, AS DID THE LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT OF PRINCINCT 3, ONLY THE ARRIVAL OF THE TOW TRUCK AND DRIVER WHO MANAGED TO SET REFLECTIVE WARNING TRIANGLES FAR BEHIND MY VEHICLE AND REPIDLY ASSISTING ME TO EXIT MY VEHICLE WITHOUT INJURY OR DEATH. THEN PROCEEDED TO TOW MY VTTO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF THE DEALERSHIP. MECHANICS DO NOT COME UP WITH THE PROBLEM. IN THE DEALER THERE ARE SEVERAL JEEP WRANGLER WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. LAST VISIT TO A PROFESSIONAL AND AUTHORIZE REPAIR CENTER 6/11/18. THIS IS CLEARLY A DEFECT THAT ATTENDS LIFE AND SECURITY.
TAKATA RECALL, THESE AIRBAGS REMAIN IN MY VEHICLE WITH THE RECALL OF TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY IN MY AREA MAKE MY VEHICLE A CONSTANT DANGER TO MY LIFE AND ALL THOSE ON ANY ROAD OR HIGHWAY I MAY DRIVE ON. THEY CONTAIN METAL COMPONENTS THAT KILL. NHTSA IS NOT DOING NEARLY ENOUGH TO GET THE MANUFACTURER TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION TO REPLACE SAID AIRBAGS BEFORE, HIGHLY POSSIBLE MULTIPLE DEATHS OCCUR. IT TOOK 4 ATTEMPTS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND THERE IS NO, REPORT OTHER THAN THOSE I HAVE ON A HARD DRIVE FROM SOMEONE MY DEALERSHIP HAD TO CALL IN TO FIX THIS ISSUE, BY THE NAME OF,"THE WATERMAN." WHY ARE THERE NO REPORTS ON FILE WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF MY DEALERSHIP. THERE ARE CONSTANT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS, ICONS LIGHTING UP, REPAIR DEPARTMENT CLAIMING THEY CANNOT REPEAT THE ISSUE. THOUGH I HAVE TAKEN IN PHOTOS OF THE DASHBOARD AS PROOF AND EVIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY MECHANICAL AND BODY OUTSIDE S WELL AS THE ENTIRE INTERIOR.THE CARPET REQUIRES REPLACING REFUSED BY THE SERVICE DEPT. THE WATER CAUSED THE CARPETING TO BECOME LOOSE, THE CHEAP PLASTIC CLIP TO HOLD THE MAT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOES NOT HOLD IT IN PLACE ,CAUSING IT TO PUNCH UP UNDER THE ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE PEDALS.THERE IS ALSO A RIP ABOUT AN INCH OR SO BESIDE THE PLASTIC CLIP MEANT TO HOLD THE MAT IN PLACE. THIS IS A DEADLY DEFECT WAITING TO HAPPEN. AFTER TWICE BEING DEEMED REPAIRED, BOTH SIDE VIEW ELECTRIC HEATED MIRRORS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO KEEP THEM CLEAR FROM WATER, THE DANGEROUS PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. THE WATER DAMAGE HAS CAUSED RUST AND CORROSION TO ACCUMULATE UNDER THE CARPET WHERE MOST OF THE WIRES AND PARTS TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ARE PLACED AND COMPROMISED.THERE ARE SUSPENSION PROBLEMS,VISIBILITY

I WAS DRIVING AT UNDER 10 MPH, ON A TEXAS STATE ROAD WHEN THE PLASTIC FUEL LINE WHICH IS CONNECTED TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE BODY WITH SOME TYPE OF ADHESIVE FAILED. THIS DROPPED THE FUEL LINE DIRECTLY ON THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, WHICH MELTED THE FUEL LINE CAUSING A FIRE THAT SPREAD TO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. APPARENTLY THIS IS AN ISSUE ON THE 4 DOOR MODEL WRANGLERS AS THE 2 DOOR WRANGLERS HAVE A PLATE PREVENTING THIS. THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE LOOKED AT ON ALL 4 DOOR MODELS, RANGING FROM 2008 THROUGH AT LEAST 2013. I HAVE LOOKED AT OTHER 4 DOOR JEEPS AND SEE THAT THEY HAVE THE SAME POTENTIAL ISSUE THERE IS NOTHING THAT PREVENTS THE FUEL LINE FROM COMING INTO CONTACT WITH THE EXHAUST AND POTENTIALLY CAUSING A FIRE.

THE ROOT CAUSE OF THESE RECALLS WAS DETERMINED TO BE DUST ACCUMULATION IN THE GREASE OF THE CLOCKSPRING AS SEEN IN THE ATTACHED RECALL NOTIFICATION. THE CLOCKSPRING PART IN BOTH LHD AND RHD VARIATIONS OF THIS MODEL JEEP WRANGLER INCLUDE A SIMILAR, IF NOT THE SAME, CLOCKSPRING PART. THE AMOUNT OF DUST THAT A JEEP WRANGLER IS SUBJECT TO DOES NOT CORRELATE TO THE POSITION OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND CLOCKSPRING. I WOULD SUSPECT THAT A VEHICLE WITH LESS THAT 70,000 MILES AND 5 YEARS OF USE SHOULD NOT HAVE AIRBAG FAILURE. I CONTACTED JEEP AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX THIS ISSUE. I EXPLAINED TO THEM THE SAFETY CONCERNS WITH NOT HAVING A WORKING HORN AND A QUESTIONABLE AIRBAG. THE DEALER SAYS THAT I NEED A NEW TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER CONTROL MODULE (TIPM). THE COST IS WELL OVER $1000 (THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY). ONCE I RESTARTED THE CAR IT SEEMED LIKE THE JEEP WOULD RESET AND THE PARTS WOULD START WORKING AGAIN. JEEP HAS BEEN REPLACING THESE ITEMS, BUT THEY WOULD NEVER ROOT CAUSE THE PROBLEM. - MOST RECENTLY CHRYSLER DISCOVERED THAT THE FUSE BOX & ELECTRICAL CLUSTER WERE DEFECTIVE. IT TOOK JEEP 77 DAYS TO REPLACE THE 2 PARTS. THE WORSE PART IS THEY TRIED TO HAVE ME DRIVE THE VEHICLE DURING THOSE 77 DAYS UNTIL THE PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE PUTTING ME AND ANY VEHICLE AROUND ME AT RISK OF INJURY AND DEATH. WAS ENTERING ONTO THE INTERSTATE WHEN MY 2011 JEEP WRANGLER COMPLETELY SHUT OFF, ALL WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ON, POWER STEERING WENT OUT, AND HEADLIGHTS TURNED OFF. MY HUSBAND IS A MECHANIC AND BEGAN DRIVING THE JEEP ON A DAILY BASIS WITH A COMPUTER HOOKED TO IT IN HOPES TO CATCH A CODE. ONCE AGAIN, THE JEEP SHUT OFF ALL POWER AND THREW A CODE FOR THE TIPM MODULE. SINCE THEN, WE'VE HAD SEVERAL INSTANCES WHERE THE JEEP LOOSES ALL POWER AND SHUTS OFF ALONG WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL KICKING OFF AND ON. WE BOUGHT THE JEEP AND HAD IT FOR ONLY 3 WEEKS BEFORE THE PROBLEMS BEGAN. WE'VE CONTACTED THE DEALER WE PURCHASED FROM, SEVERAL JEEP DEALERSHIPS AND CHRYSLER DIRECTLY AND RECEIVED THE RUN AROUND BY ALL OF THEM. I HEARD A FIRE IGNITE , OPEN THE CAR HOOD AND SEEN THE BLACK SMOKE I THEN PUT OUT THE FIRE. IT IS NOW THE DATE-MARCH 18 ,2014. I HAVE NO SUPPORT FROM CHRYSLER CORPORATION FOR REPAIR OF MY PROBLEM. AT TIMES, HOWEVER, WHEN THE KEY IS INSERTED AND TURNED, NOTHING HAPPENS. SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE CAN THEN BE STARTED USING THE REMOTE START AND THEN OPERATED BY QUICKLY INSERTING THE KEY AND TURNING IT. AT TIMES NEITHER THE KEY NOR THE REMOTE START WILL WORK. TYPICALLY, BY ALTERNATING BETWEEN ATTEMPTS TO USE THE KEY AND REMOTE START, THE VEHICLE CAN BE STARTED WITHIN 15 MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS RECALLED DUE TO THIS ISSUE AND WAS RECENTLY TAKEN TO KOONS TYSONS CHRYSLER IN VIRGINIA FOR SERVICE. HOWEVER, AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED WITH A 'SOFTWARE UPGRADE' TO CORRECT THE ISSUE, THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. IT WAS AGAIN TAKEN THIS WEEK TO KOONS TYSONS CHRYSLER TO FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT THE SERVICE CENTER SAYS IT CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM ON ITS LOT AND THEREFORE WON'T DO ANYTHING MORE. IT SAYS IT COMPLETELY BELIEVES THERE IS AN ISSUE, BUT WANTS TO RETURN THE VEHICLE, WAIT UNTIL THE PROBLEM OCCURS AGAIN, AND THEN HAVE IT TOWED TO ITS SERVICE CENTER FOR APPRAISAL. OBVIOUSLY, THIS IS NOT A PRACTICAL SOLUTION. IT COULD PRESENT A DANGEROUS SITUATION OF HAVING MY WIFE STUCK WHO KNOWS WHERE (A DARK PARKING LOT, RAILROAD CROSSING, ETC.) THE TIPM WAS ALLOWING THE ENGINE TO CONTINUE TO RUN EVEN THOUGH THE IGNITION WAS OFF AND KEY REMOVED - BUT THE TIPM DID SHUT OFF THE ELECTRICALLY OPERATED COOLING FAN IN FRONT OF THE RADIATOR. THERE WAS ELECTRICAL POWER GOING TO THE MOTOR IGNITION SO THAT THE MOTOR CONTINUED TO RUN - BUT W/O A FAN. THE COOLANT BOILED OUT OF THE ENGINE AND HAD OUR FRIEND NOT INTERVENED OUR MOTOR DEFINITELY WOULD HAVE BOILED ITSELF DRY AND CONTINUED TO RUN UNTIL IT EITHER SEIZED UP DUE TO EXCESSIVE HEAT AND/OR IGNITED A FIRE DUE TO THE EXCESSIVE HEAT (POTENTIALLY BY IGNITING THE FUEL WITHIN THE FUEL SYSTEM?? ELECTRICAL WIRE INSULATION CAUSING AN ELECTRICAL FIRE?? BATTERY BOILING AND FIRE??). AS YOU'RE AWARE, THERE ARE SEVERAL POTENTIAL SECONDARY SOURCES FOR FIRE IGNITION UNDER THE VEHICLE HOOD. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE STARTED THE VEHICLE BY USING THE PUSH TO START FEATURE. THE CONTACT THEN OPENED THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR AND NOTICED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WAS ON FIRE. THE WAS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO THE DEALER, BUT THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TOW THE VEHICLE BACK HOME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND AN INVESTIGATOR WAS SENT TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE INVESTIGATOR STATED THAT THE FIRE ORIGINATED NEAR THE HEATED MIRROR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE DEALER WAS WAITING ON REPLACEMENT PARTS TO ARRIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RECEIVE A RESPONSE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000.

I WENT TO A JEEP JAMBOREE ON THE WEEKEND OF SEPTEMBER 17TH AND AS I WAS DRIVING TO GO WASH MY JEEP MY JEEP FIRST SPEED UP AND I COULDN'T GET IT TO SLOW DOWN THEN I SMELLED A BURNING SMELL AND THEN DASHBOARD STARTED HAVING TROUBLE LIGHTS COME ON SO I GOT IT OFF THE HIGHWAY AS I EXITED THE HIGHWAY I SAW SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD SO I STOPPED IMMEDIATELY AND OPENED THE HOOD AFTER SHUTTING IT OFF AND SAW IT COMING FROM THE MAIN FUSE BLOCK GRABBED SOME TOOLS TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY BUT BY THEN IT STARTED TO BURN SO I POURED WATER ON THE FUSE BLOCK PUT IT OUT AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK TOOK IT TO TRI STAR JEEP IN UNIONTOWN, PA THEY GOT IT FIXED AFTER ALMOST 2 WEEKS AND ON THE WAY HOME IT STARTED AGAIN AND I CAUGHT IT EARLIER BUT THIS TIME I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. EVER SINCE THOSE 2 EPISODES IT'S HAD LOTS OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS AND IT JUST NEVER STOPS. *TR
