THE 2012 Jeep 4 door Wrangler had the ABS Control Module internal error failure, this makes the car unsafe to drive. The dealer cannot get repair parts, the car is un-repaired since October 2025. Further, they cannot source the chips for the components, the make cannot provide a delivery date.(UNKNOWN when this will be rectified. Other years of this car have been recalled for this issue. This year has not yet. PLEASE Help us !)

In 2020 I bought this Jeep, within the first 3 months I had to replace the TIPM, at $950.00, now 5 years later the same problem, the TIPM is having issues again. Causing the engine to overheat. Jeep is telling me this happens, not at $950 every 5 years, I was told there was a recall initially when they were new. There has to be some sort of recourse, you just can’t sell faulty parts and say it just happens! The 2012 jeep jk wrangler has serious electrical issues. The jeep randomly stalls while driving and sometimes won’t start at all. Right before it stalls, every light on the dashboard flashes and continues to flash until the car dies. Replacing the battery doesn’t fix the issue. Numerous complaints about jeep wranglers TIPM issues have been ignored by authorities. I suppose people will have to die in a crash or spends thousands fixing the TIPM or electrical issues before getting relief.

Clockspring failed causing airbag to malfunction. Jeep dealer ordered a replacement in April 2023 and still has not received the part(even though they have one in stock the manufacturer will not allow them to use and install the stock clockspring). We have been forced to drive the vehicle without an operating clockspring which creates a major safety hazard since the airbags may not deploy on impact.

The vehicle will die while driving it, it is a automatic so you loose power steering power brakes and the engine is completely shut off you have to safely pull over and not get hit to put vehicle in park sometimes it starts in park, sometime it just turns over and you have to wait 10 to 15 minutes for vehicle to start. Dealer keeps telling me there is no issue with the vehicle, and they cannot replicate issue. I fear for me and my family's life every day in my jeep wrangler.

Starting out at a stop light, engaging the clutch to start moving, I depressed the clutch to shift into second gear while making a turn, the vehicle stalls, losing all power.

The vehicle has been to the deal multiple times and the issue can not be duplicated. The vehicle has been inspected multiple times and there are no known issues. No-fault codes are thrown. I was able to cost to a safe location, and wait. after 3-5 min the vehicle restarted.

Becoming the new owner in 2021, I was issued a recall for the passenger airbag inflator replacement. After repairing this recall, the vehicle air bag light came on and has not turned off since. I made several attempts with dearlership to access the problem and in May 2022 the dealership diagnosed the problem stating it was the airbag clockspring. This clockspring had a recall on it in June 2016 and was replaced in September 2016. The dealership along with another AMS certified mechanics shop stated the clockspring that was replaced in 2016 is defective. This is causing multiple safety issues with the vehicle. The anti skid system activates, the anti lock braking is activated, the cruise control will not operate, along with the fact the air bags are inoperable or not operating at full capacity as they are required to.

Random Stalling while driving, making a left-hand turn. While entering an intersection, the vehicle stalled losing all power. Was able to coast to a safe spot. Waited 15 min, the vehicle started. No check engine light.

MY JEEP IS NOW STALLING MID DRIVE WHEN I TURN MY WHEEL. 3 TIMES IT'S HAPPENED WHILE TURNING FROM A STOP LIGHT AND ONCOMING TRAFFIC HAD TO STOP AND GO AROUND ME. I'VE HAD 2 MECHANICS LOOK AT IT AND NEITHER OF THEM CAN FIND AN ISSUE. RPMS GO TO ZERO AND MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP. THE ONLY WAY TO RESET IT IS TO PUT IT IN PARK, TURN THE CAR OFF THEN BACK ON. OUTSIDE OF THOSE 3 TIMES IT'S HAPPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING AND TURNING ONTO A STREET OR INTO A PARKING LOT - THERE IS NO RHYME OR REASON TO WHAT WILL TRIGGER IT. I'VE READ QUITE A FEW FORUMS WHERE THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO IMMEDIATELY!! I WENT FROM FEELING CAREFREE IN MY JEEP TO KEEPING BOTH OF MY HANDS ON THE WHEEL WHILE MAKING ANY TURN AND BEING CONSTANTLY TENSE. PLEASE PLEASE ANNOUNCE A RECALL AND FIX THIS!

MY JEEP WRANGLER 2012 JKU WILL SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE RUNNING. I HAVE A 18 MONTH OLD THAT RIDES IN THE BACKSEAT AND THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE TIMES THAT I HAVE FELT VERY UNSAFE FOR HIS LIFE AND MINE. I HAVE REPLACED 2 BATTERIES AS I THOUGHT THAT WAS THE ISSUE. NOW I AM SURE IT IS THE TIPM IS FAULTY. MY JEEP HAS UNDER 60K MILES ON IT. CHRYSLER/FIAT NEEDS TO PUT A RECALL ON THESE AS THEY ARE JUNK AND SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN MADE SO BAD AS THEY ARE THE BRAIN OF THE SUV. AIR BAG LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE WHEN STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED, SOMETIMES STAYING ON OR TURNING BACK OFF. ALSO SEEMS TO BE HAPPEN MORE FREQUENTLY DURING COOL WEATHER (LESS THAN 60 DEGREES F).

CAR COMPLETELY DIES WHEN SITTING IDLE. I BELIEVE THE CONTROL MODULE IS FAULTY AND I HAVE HEARD MANY COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER DODGE/CHRYSLER/JEEP CUSTOMERS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. MY 15 MONTH OLD SON WAS IN THE CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND IT SCARED THE HECK OUT OF ME TO BE SITTING AT A MAJOR STOPLIGHT AND THE CAR COMPLETELY DIE. I WAS SCARED FOR MY SAFETY AND SCARED FOR MY SON'S SAFETY. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS IS NOT AN OPEN RECALL RIGHT NOW. WHEN THE JEEP DIES ALL OF THE RELAYS START ENGAGING AND THE DASH LIGHTS BLINK ON AND OFF. I HAVE HAD MY BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, AND STARTED CHECKED BY A LICENSED MECHANIC. JEEP LOSES ALL POWER WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE A 1 YEAR OLD AND THIS IS VERY VERY DANGEROUS. IVE HAD TO STOP AND PULL BATTERY POWER TERMINAL OFF MULTIPLE TIMES TO RESET IT. THE JEEP COMPLETELY DIES THEN ALL LIGHTS AND SWITCHES START FIRING. JEEP WILL NOT RESTART. DEBATING SELLING IT AND GETTING SOMETHING OTHER THAN A JEEP PRODUCT. BATTERY IS GOOD AND ALTERNATOR IS GOOD. I'VE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS AND I ALSO HAVE DIAGNOSTIC RECEIPTS THAT CLAIM THEY CAN'T FIND ANY ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE WHEN THEY INSPECT IT. HOWEVER, ABOUT A WEEK AGO I WAS WATCHING CHANNEL 4 NEWS AND THEY REPORTED A RECALL FOR 2011-2013 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE AND DURANGOS FOR ENGINE STALLING ISSUES RELATED TO THE FUEL PUMP. THE VEHICLE HAS CODES POPPING UP ABOUT TORQUE MANAGEMENT. I WOULD LIKE FOR THIS TO BE FIXED FREE OF CHARGE DUE TO THE WIRING HARNESSES BEING AN INTEGRAL PART IF THIS VEHICLE.

FIRST MY POWER WINDOWS WOULDN'T WORK WHILE DRIVING, I PULLED OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THAT TEMPORARILY FIXED THE ISSUE (IT HAS HAPPEN TWICE SINCE). THAT SAME DAY I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE USING MY CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 70MPH AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CRUISE CONTROL SHUT DOWN AND DISABLED ITSELF WHILE KEEPING THE CRUISE CONTROL LIGHT ON AND NOT ALLOWING ME TO TURN OFF OR RESET THE CRUISE CONTROL. (THESE LIGHTS WENT OUT THE FOLLOWING DAY). A COUPLE DAYS LATER WHILE DRIVING, A WARNING OF THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE TURN SIGNAL BEING OUT CAME ON (THIS COMES AND GOES NOW ALMOST DAILY). LAST NIGHT WHILE MY JEEP WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY OF MY HOME THE HEADLIGHTS AND DOME LIGHT STARTED COMING ON RANDOMLY. THE HEADLIGHT AND DOME LIGHT SWITCH WHERE BOTH IN THE OFF POSITION AND THE KEYS WERE ON MY KITCHEN TABLE INSIDE THE HOUSE (THIS IS CONTINUING TO HAPPEN IN THE PARKING LOT AT WORK ALSO). WHEN I GOT IN IT TO GO TO WORK AND WHILE IDLING THE HAZARDS LIGHTS WOULD RANDOMLY BLINK TWICE AND THEN STOP, WAIT A COUPLE MINUTES AND HAPPEN AGAIN. WHILE SITTING IN THE PARKING LOT AT WORK I NOTICED THAT WHEN THIS HAPPEN THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ALSO TURNING ON, THEY TURNED OFF AFTER A MINUTE OR TWO, AND THEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN. IT IS A RAINY DAY BUT BRIGHT ENOUGH THAT I COULD NOT TELL IF THE LIGHTS WERE RANDOMLY GOING IN AND OUT WHILE DRIVING. REGARDLESS THIS IS TURNING IN TO A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND IT SEEMS TO BE ALL TOO COMMON WITH THESE FIAT-CHRYSLER VEHICLES.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP WRANGLER. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE HEADLIGHTS TURNED OFF INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD TO CONTINUOUSLY TURN THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH IN ORDER TO HAVE VISIBILITY WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE TURN SIGNALS WOULD NOT OPERATE AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS OPERATED INDEPENDENTLY WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED. THE CONTACT HAD TO REPEATEDLY TURN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON AND OFF FOR THEM TO STOP WORKING. THE CONTACT CALLED SCOTT ROBINSON CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (20900 HAWTHORNE BLVD, TORRANCE, CA 90503, (424) 299-8800) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WOULD COST $1,300. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,500.

VEHICLE STALLED WHILE IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY. THIS HAS BEEN A CONSISTENT ISSUE FOR THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS. I BELIEVE IT FIRST OCCURRED IN 2016. THE VEHICLE WILL JUST STALL ON A CITY STREET, IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA, OR EVEN ON THE HIGHWAY. FUEL WAS NOT RELATED AS IT HAS HAPPENED ON A FULL TANK OF GAS OR A QUARTER TANK. IT WAS TAKEN TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS (THAT HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED) BECAUSE OF THIS DANGEROUS HAZARD, AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE SO IT WAS NEVER FIXED. I EVEN SHOWED THEM VIDEO EVIDENCE 3 TIMES. THE VEHICLE JUST STALLS RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING (IN THE MIDDLE OF HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC). THE RPM WOULD JUST GO TO ZERO, AND WHEN TRYING TO START THE CAR BACK UP, IT WOULD TRY TO CRANK, BUT WOULD NOT START. THE CAR WOULD HAVE TO BE TURNED OFF FOR 5 MINUTES AND THEN THE CAR WOULD EVENTUALLY START AGAIN. THIS WOULD OCCUR AT LEAST 1/MONTH FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. THE JEEP DEALERSHIP REPLACED FUEL PUMP, AND CHECKED OTHER COMPONENTS AS THE ENGINE LIGHT NEVER TURNED ON, AND THEY COULD NOT FIND THE RESOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A HIGHLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND SEEMS TO BE VERY COMMON AMONG THIS MODEL YEAR JEEP, AND JEEP CONTINUES TO CLAIM NO FAULT. SOMEONE COULD DIE IF THEIR CAR STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY WITH CARS GOING 70+ MPH. AN EXPERIENCED DRIVER MAY BE ABLE TO MANEUVER, BUT CERTAINLY AN INEXPERIENCED DRIVER WOULD NOT. THIS VEHICLE WAS INTENDED TO BE FOR A TEENAGE CHILD, BUT I COULD NOT KNOWINGLY GIVE THIS TO THEM HAVING THIS UNRESOLVED ISSUE. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH, I BELIEVE IT IS A FAULTY OR DEFECTIVE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, BUT JEEP REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS AND CONTINUES TO SAY THIS IS NOT THE ISSUE, YET THE CAR HAS CONTINUED TO STALL ON VARIOUS OCCASIONS STILL. THEY SHOULD BE LIABLE FOR ANY SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH THAT MAY POTENTIALLY OCCUR! I WILL BE TAKING THIS VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED ELSEWHERE AFTER MY OWN RESEARCH AND TROUBLESHOOTING.

THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO ACCURACY AUTOMOTIVE (4036 S MAIN ST, MURRAY, UT 84107, 801-266-3609) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE FOR THE COST OF THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,000.

ALL THE ELECTRONICS IN MY STEERING WHEEL WENT OUT, THE HORN STOPPED WORKING, AND MY AIRBAG NO LONGER WORKS. SOME OF MY WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH EVEN STOPPED WORKING. THE FM/AM RADIO ALSO NO LONGER WORKS. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID MY CLOCK SPRINGS WENT OUT. I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT MY AIRBAG NOT DEPLOYING IN A CRASH. NONE OF THESE WORK, WHETHER THE CAR IS MOVING OR STATIONARY.

DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN SUDDENLY ALL THE LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING, RADIO FLASHED AND THEN THE JEEP STARTED TO LOOSE POWER. PULLED OVER, PUT IN PARK AND TURNED IT OFF. EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR LIGHTS WERE FLASHING. CLICKING NOISES WHERE COMING FROM THE TIPM EVEN WITH THE KEY OFF. EVERYTHING WAS LOCKED UP ONCE IT WAS PUT IN PARK AND WOULDN'T UNLOCK TO TOW. THE ONLY RECOURSE WAS TO UNHOOK THE BATTERY AND TRY TO RESET EVERYTHING AFTER WAITING FOR ABOUT 20 SECONDS. I HOOKED THE BATTERY BACK AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED HOWEVER THE FIRST TIME WAS IN PARK AND EVERYTHING WENT HAYWIRE. WAS ABLE TO RESTART W/O DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY. IT IS GETTING WORSE. WE ARE LOOKING AT A $1000 REPAIR BILL. WE ARE HESITANT TO DRIVE IT.

CHECK ENGINE ILLUMINATED IN MID-2017, BUT NO CODES WERE PRESENT AND JEEP APPEARED TO RUN FINE. IN SEPT 2017, WHILE DRIVING ON I-75, THE JEEP SHUDDERED AND THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON, ALONG WITH THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM LIGHT. I TOOK IT TO THE JEEP DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY, BUT THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THE LIGHTS HAD TURNED OFF. THEY ENDED UP SWAPPING OUT THE SPARK PLUGS AND TWO IGNITION COILS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON A FEW DAYS LATER. I WAS ABLE TO PULL CODES FOR THE THROTTLE POSITION SYSTEM 1 AND 2. IN OCT 2017, THE VEHICLE JUMPED/SHUDDERED AND STOPPED RUNNING. I HAD TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER AND LEAVE IT SIT FOR 10 MINUTES. I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND DRIVE IT A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO PULL ANY CODES AND BASED OFF OF MY DESCRIPTION OF THE ISSUES, REPLACED THE PEDAL ASSEMBLY AND CLEARED THE CODES. THEY SAID IF THE ISSUE CAME BACK TO REPLACE THE BATTERY. THE ISSUE CAME BACK WITHIN 5 MINUTES OF LEAVING THE AUTOMOTIVE GARAGE, SO I CHANGED THE BATTERY IN NOVEMBER. AFTER THAT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WHEN AWAY, BUT WOULD COME BACK ON SPORADICALLY. THE JEEP WAS STILL SHUDDERING/JUMPING AND WOULD THEN COMPLETELY STOP AFTER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL, AND THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM NOTIFICATION, STILL. I JUST TOOK IT TO ANOTHER GARAGE (ARIL 2018), SINCE THE PREVIOUS TWO HAD NO IDEA WHAT THE ISSUE WAS. AT THIS POINT I WAS STILL PULLING THROTTLE POSITION 1 AND 2 CODES. THIS GARAGE REPLACED THE ENTIRE THROTTLE BODY AND RAN A FUEL INJECTION SERVICE. WITHIN 15 MINUTES OF ME DRIVING AWAY FROM THAT GARAGE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, FOLLOWED BY A SOFTER SHUDDER OF THE VEHICLE AND THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT. I TRIED TO PULL CODES WHEN I GOT HOME, BUT THERE WERE NONE--BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT ARE STILL ON.

I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT IT WAS THE CLOCK SPRING INSIDE THE STEERING WHEEL. I RESEARCHED RECALLS AND SAW RECALLS ON THE CLOCK SPRING INVOLVING THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. I THEN TOOK MY JEEP TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY DETERMINED THAT IT WAS THE LIN BUS FAILURE INTERNAL TO INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. ALSO THE LIGHTS ON THE WINDOW SWITCHES HAVE ALL SLOWLY STOPPED WORKING OVER THE COURSE OF THE YEAR. ALONG WITH THE CABLE FROM THE ANTENNA TO THE RADIO HAS BROKEN LEAVING ME WITH NO AM/FM RADIO. MY JEEP HAS NEVER BEEN STUCK IN THE RAIN WITH THE TOP OFF, HAS SUFFERED NO WATER DAMAGE, HAS BEEN IN NO ACCIDENTS, HAVE BEEN DRIVEN WITH CARE DUE TO THE FACT I LOVE IT AND PAID A PRETTY PENNY FOR IT. I'VE KEPT UP WITH OIL CHANGES AND TIRE ROTATION GETTING A VEHICLE INSPECTIONS EVERY 3,000 MILES. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GOING BAD ON 2012 JEEP WRANGLERS. THIS IS ISSUE SHOULD BE REEVALUATED BY NHTSA AND CHRYSLER. JULY 26, 2016, WE TOOK OUR 2012 JEEP WRANGLER TO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER THE ABS AND TRAC LIGHTS CAME ON. THE DEALERSHIP SHOWED A C102A CODE AND A U140B CODE. THEY REPLACED AND PROGRAMMED THE LEFT REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR, FEELING THAT WOULD SOLVE OUR PROBLEM. ON AUGUST 18, 2016, IN STOPPED TRAFFIC, ON A MAJOR STATE HIGHWAY, THE CAR LOST POWER. WE WERE ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT BY THE TIME WE GOT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, NO CODES WERE EVIDENT. ON SEPTEMBER 18, 2016. DRIVING 60 MPH, ON ANOTHER STATE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. FORTUNATELY IT WAS A SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND TRAFFIC WAS LIGHT. WE WERE ABLE TO COAST TO A SIDE ROAD AND AFTER ABOUT 4 ATTEMPTS WERE ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND DROVE ABOUT 2 BLOCKS TO A SAFE PLACE. WE HAD TO CONTACT A TOW TRUCK TO CARRY THE VEHICLE 10 MILES TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO RECREATE THE CODE, SO HE TOOK IT HOME FOR ABOUT 3 DAYS, FINALLY HAVING THE VEHICLE LOSE POWER AND WAS ABLE TO GET IT CODED. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A TIPM SHORTING OUT. THERE WAS ALSO A DAMAGED CLOCKSPRING. BOTH PARTS WERE REPLACED. TOTAL OF BOTH INVOICES = $1,752.25.

THIS FOR THE 2012 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED ISN'T PART OF A RECALL AND IT ISN'T SOMETHING COVERED UNDER THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. THE JEEP STARTED TURNING OFF AT LOW IDLE. THE TIPM UNIT WENT OUT, CAUSING LOTS OF ISSUES. THE ISSUES WE'RE AWARE OF ARE: THE DOORS WOULDN'T LOCK, SHIFTER WAS STUCK IN PARK, RADIO/CD/BLUETOOTH WOULDN'T WORK, AND THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS WOULDN'T TURN OFF LEADING TO A COMPLETE DRAIN OF THE BATTERY. THANKFULLY, THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN WHILE WE WERE DRIVING IT (IT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS IF IT DID). IT COST US $1100.00 TO REPLACE THE TIPM UNIT, WHICH WAS A HUGE FINANCIAL BURDEN ON US, BUT EVEN WORSE WAS THAT WE HAD TO GO WITHOUT THE JEEP (ONE OF OUR MAIN MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION) FOR ALMOST TWO MONTHS BECAUSE THERE'S A WAITING LIST FOR THE REPLACEMENT PART. WE CHECKED WITH 3 DIFFERENT REPAIR SHOPS JUST TO BE SURE, AND ALL SAID THE SAME THING: 1.) THAT THERE'S A WAITING LIST AT LEAST 40 PEOPLE LONG FOR THIS TIPM UNIT, AND 2.) THAT THEY'VE BEEN SEEING JEEP WRANGLERS LEFT & RIGHT FOR THIS SAME EXACT PROBLEM, AND THERE'S A WAITING LIST BECAUSE THE PART CAN'T EVEN BE MANUFACTURED QUICKLY ENOUGH TO KEEP UP WITH THE DEMAND. I KNOW THE TIPM UNIT HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR JEEP CHEROKEES, BUT WHY NOT JEEP WRANGLER WHEN THIS IS CLEARLY A MAJOR ISSUE FOR IT AS WELL??

I CALLED JEEP AND THEY SAID THAT THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER WITH NO ESTIMATED TIME OF DELIVERY. THE TIPM CONTROLS ALL OF THE ELECTRONIC CONTROLS ON MY VEHICLE AND I CAN NOT DRIVE WITHOUT IT. IT IS A 2012 SO I AM SURPRISED THAT THIS PART IS FAILING, LET ALONE UNAVAILABLE FROM THE MANUFACTURER. FURTHERMORE THE PART ALONE IS $850 AND NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND IT LOOKS LIKE THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST CHRYSLER/JEEP/DODGE FOR THIS PART BEING DEFECTIVE BUT IT ONLY COVERED CERTAIN MAKES/ YEARS.

I DISCONNECTED BATTERY TO RESET CPU THAT DID NOT WORK. I STOPPED BY AUTO ZONE TO GET CODES SCANNED . THEY TOLD ME EVERY SYSTEM WAS REPORTING FAILURE AND NEEDS TO GO TO DEALER. AFTER RESTART EVERY THING WAS NORMAL. AFTER 100 YARDS DOWN THE STREET IT ALL HAPPENED AGAIN. PULLED INTO STORE PARKING LOT, TURNED JEEP OFF AND WOULD NOT RESTART TILL 4TH TRY. DROVE IT STRAIT TO DEALER IN FIRST GEAR WITH ALL. THEY SAID THAT IT WAS TIPM AND NOT UNDER WARRANTY, GAVE MA A RENTAL CAR FOR 10 DAYS BECAUSE PART IS ON BACK ORDER. AFTER 10 DAYS CHRYSLER QUIT PAYING FOR RENTAL CAR AND STILL HAVE NO PART TO FIX JEEP IT HAS BEEN 16 DAYS. I GUESS THERE ARE ALOT OF FAILURES FOR THE TIPM CAUSING BACK ORDER AND DO NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL GET ONE.

I SEARCHED ONLINE AND FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR A PENTASTAR 3.6 L V6 ALTERNATORS BUT I'M BEING TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THIS BEGAN IN LATE 2014 BUT THE PROBLEM WAS SO INTERMITTANT WE COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT ON DEMAND UNTIL AUGUST 2015. THE DEALER REPLACED THE MULTI FUNCTION SWITCH AND WIRING HARNESS BUT BEFORE WE EVEN DROVE OUT OF THE PARKING LOT BOTH THE LIGHTS AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS WERE DOING THE SAME THING. THEY KEPT IT A FEW DAYS AND "SEALED THE CLUSTER". DIDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM FOR A FEW WEEKS AND THE CAR IS NOW 700 MILES AWAY AT SCHOOL WITH DAUGHTER. AROUND SEPT 2015 INTERMITTENT ISSUES AGAIN BUT NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE AT DEALER. RECENTLY (JAN 2016) THE PROBLEMS ARE DAILY AND INCLUDE THE HEADLIGHTS GOING OUT EVERY TIME THE CAR MAKES A TURN AND THEN COME BACK ON A FEW SECONDS LATER. IN ADDITION THE TURN SIGNAL CUTS OFF. WINDSHIELD WIPERS HAVE A MIND OF THEIR OWN BUT THE LIGHTS ARE THE MOST DANGEROUS PROBLEM. NOW THAT THE PROBLEM IS CONSTANT IT'S GOING BACK TO A DEALER BUT BECAUSE THE CAR IS WITH DAUGHTER AWAY AT SCHOOL IT WILL BE A DIFFERENT DEALER. WE ARE UNCERTAIN ABOUT TAIL LIGHTS BECAUSE THIS OCCURS WHILE DRIVING AND INTERMITTENTLY BUT THE HEADLIGHTS AND TURN SIGNAL GOING OFF WHILE DRIVING THROUGH INTERSECTIONS HAS MADE THIS ISSUE A MAJOR ACCIDENT/INJURY RISK.

JUST OVER A MONTH AGO I WAS GOING TO WORK, AND NOTICED THAT MY TURN SIGNALS WERE NOT WORKING. I TRIED MOVING THE TURN SIGNAL UP AND DOWN TO NO AVAIL. I ALSO NOTICED THAT MY HEADLIGHTS WOULD NOT COME ON. I PULLED OVER AND THOUGHT MAYBE A FUSE WENT BAD OR SOMETHING AND FOUND EVERY SINGLE FUSE TO BE FINE. I THEN ALSO NOTICED THAT THE DIGITAL COMPASS READOUT ON THE DASH WAS NOT FUNCTIONING, AND I COULD NOT SCROLL THROUGH THE MENUS WITH THE MAIN COMPUTER USING THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS. THE HAZARD LIGHTS WOULD WORK PROPERLY...AND THE LIGHTS WOULD FLASH PROPERLY WHEN I LOCKED THE DOORS WITH MY KEY FOB...WHICH TOLD ME THAT THE CIRCUIT WAS STILL WORKING. AFTER ABOUT 25 MINUTES OF FIDDLING EVERYTHING SUDDENLY STARTED WORKING AGAIN. THE NEXT DAY, WHILE AT WORK I WENT TO LUNCH, AND WHEN I RETURNED TO WORK AS I PULLED INTO THE PARKING SPOT, MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS RANDOMLY TURNED ON WITHOUT ME TURNING THEM ON...AND I COULD NOT GET THEM TO TURN OFF...EVEN WITH THE ENGINE OFF. I HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TO GET THEM TO GO OFF. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL JEEP DEALER AND THEY FOUND THAT IT WAS THE TIPM I FIGURED WELL...NOW I DO HAVE A NEW UNIT AND SHOULD BE FINE. THAT FANTASY WAS DESTROYED YESTERDAY WHEN I WENT TO GO HOME FROM WORK, AND SUDDENLY MY LIGHTS WOULD NOT TURN ON...THEN GOT STUCK ON AND COULDN'T TURN THEM OFF...AND MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD NOT TURN ON AT ALL...AND THE TURN SIGNALS WOULD NOT FUNCTION...ALL WHILE GOING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. I LIVE IN VIRGINIA, AND WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A HUGE RAIN EVENT, SO THE WIPERS AND LIGHTS FOR SURE NEEDED TO WORK IN ORDER FOR ME TO DRIVE HOME. NOW AT 47000 MILES MY WARRANTY IS GONE AND THIS TIME WHEN IT HAPPENED THE CHECK ENGINE AND AIRBAG REMAINED ON. I DON'T KNOW IF THE TWO ISSUES ARE RELATED OR ARE SEPARATE, BUT NOW IT KIND OF "SPUTTERS AND PUT-PUTS" WHEN ITS IN PARK AND WON'T ACCELERATE PROPERLY. THIS ISSUE CREATES A COMFORT PROBLEM DURING COLD DAYS DUE TO NO HEAT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, CREATES A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THE FRONT WINDSHIELD DOES NOT DEFROST PROPERLY WITHOUT SUFFICIENT HEAT, CREATING UNSAFE DRIVING SCENARIOS. THIS ISSUE WAS INTERMITTENT AT FIRST, BUT OVER THE PAST 20K MILES HAS BECOME A FREQUENT COMFORT AND SAFETY ISSUE. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS MAY NOT BE IN THE NHTSA'S ARENA BUT I WASN'T SURE WHERE ELSE TO TURN. AROUND THE 21ST OF NOVEMBER 2014 THE HEADLIGHTS, BLINKERS, CABIN LIGHTING AND CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO CAPITAL CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE IN GARNER NC ON THE 25TH OF NOVEMBER. THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS AN ELECTRICAL CLUSTER IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SHORTING OUT. THE PART IS AN EXCHANGE PART AND ONE OF CHRYSLER'S VENDORS WOULD SEND A NEW PART CALIBRATED TO MY MILEAGE TO REPLACE MY SHORTED CLUSTER AND THEY WOULD SEND MY CLUSTER BACK TO BE REPAIRED. MY VEHICLE WAS NOT ALLOWED TO BE DRIVEN, DESPITE PHYSICALLY WORKING, BECAUSE THE NEW CLUSTERS MILEAGE HAD TO MATCH THE VEHICLES MILEAGE AND THEY HAD ALREADY SUBMITTED THE MILEAGE TO THE VENDOR. AROUND THE 5TH OF DECEMBER I WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT GOING TO SHIP FROM THE VENDOR UNTIL THE 19TH OF DECEMBER. ON THE 19TH I WAS INFORMED BY CAPITAL CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE THAT THE PART HAD NOT BEEN SHIPPED BY THE VENDOR AND THAT THEY WEREN'T EXPECTING THE PART UNTIL AFTER THE NEW YEAR. TODAY I RECEIVED AN UPDATE THAT THE PART IS NOT EXPECTED TO SHIP UNTIL THE 12TH. MY CASE NUMBER WITH CHRYSLER IS [XXX] AND I GIVE YOU PERMISSION TO CONTACT THEM ABOUT THIS INCIDENT. 2012 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED SPORT; 1ST INCIDENT WITH HOT OIL MESSAGE, RESULTED IN DEALERSHIP FIXING THE RECALL THEY ALL OF A SUDDEN HAD PARTS FOR (THAT WERE ON BACK ORDER FOR MONTHS-AND FOR A RECALL). WHEN I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP I HAD A CASE ID WITH CHRYSLER, THEY CHANGED THEIR TUNE AND HAD THE PART(S). THIS WAS AT 26000 MILES. 2ND INCIDENT: I HAD DRIVEN TO NY FROM SC WITH NO ISSUES WHILE DRIVING. NEXT DAY, COLD START, HOT OIL WARNING. TOOK TO A LOCAL AUTO REPAIR SHOP AND THEY "CLEARED THE ERROR" STATING THERE WAS NO APPARENT CAUSE AND THEY "DIDN'T KNOW WHY" THE ERROR OCCURRED. 3RD INCIDENT: CALLED DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT THE JEEP FROM AND TOLD THE GUY (WHOM I KNOW BY NAME) THAT I WAS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, "HOT OIL MESSAGE." HE STATED, "HOT OIL MESSAGE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!" REALLY??? HE WAS CLEARLY LYING, AND I KNEW RIGHT THEN HE WAS OF NO HELP TO ME. SO, I WENT TO THE NEAREST CHRYSLER IN A TOWN 15 MINUTES AWAY WHERE I HAD MOVED TO AS IT WAS CLOSER ANYWAY...LETTING THE LIAR-PART GO, THINKING THE OTHER DEALERSHIP WOULD SURELY DO THE RIGHT THING. THIS IS AT 34000 MI. THE DEALERSHIP HAS MY JEEP CURRENTLY AND TOLD ME TODAY THAT THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM WROTE "ADDED COMPUTER TO JEEP," AS THE SUPPOSED FIX FOR THE ORIGINAL ISSUE (RECALL). THE GUY AT THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THE COMPUTER WOULDN'T EVEN "TALK" TO HIM SO HE COULDN'T DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM UNTIL HE FIGURES OUT HOW TO GET THE 1ST COMPUTER TO "TALK" TO HIM SO HE CAN GET TO THE 2ND COMPUTER AND TRY TO DIAGNOSE AN ISSUE WITH THE 2ND COMPUTER. GOT A CALL THIS AFTERNOON THAT IT WAS DRIVEN AROUND TOWN WITH NO PROBLEMS AFTER CLEARING THE ERROR MESSAGE AGAIN. AWAITING FINAL RESULTS NOW. I'M 2000 MILES AWAY FROM BEING OUT OF WARRANTY. I MANAGED TO GET JEEP OUT OF GARAGE AND FIRE PUT OUT AND DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY. THE FIRE WAS BASICALLY CONTAINED TO THE AREA AROUND THE STARTER AND RELATED WIRING/HOSES. THE JEEP DEALER PICKED UP THE JEEP AND HAS IT NOW. I CONTACTED JEEP FACTORY CUSTOMER REPRESENTATIVE REP WITH THE SPECIFICS OF THE INCIDENT AND WAS TOLD MY FILE WOULD BE TURNED OVER TO THE "SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS" DEPARTMENT. ONCE THAT WAS REPLACED, WE ARE NOW TOLD THE TIPM MODULE IS BAD AND THE PART IS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER. I CALLED CHRYSLER FOR HELP (MINIMAL SUPPORT FROM DEALER AS THEY ASKED ME TO FOLLOW-UP) AND IT APPEARS THE ORDER # THE DEALERSHIP PROVIDED ME WITH WAS FOR THE WRONG PART. NOW, THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY ARE EXPECTING A SHIPMENT OF THE PART IN MAY, 2014. I CALLED CHRYSLER BACK AND THEY ARE NOW WORKING TO EXPEDITE (AGAIN) BUT IT MAY BE A WEEK BEFORE WE EVEN HAVE A DATE. APPOINTMENT FOR 1/3/14 AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE READY ON 1/6/ OR 1/7/14. MY JEEP WAS NOT READY UNTIL 1/22/14 AND WHEN I PICKED IT UP ON 1/23/14 THEY TOLD ME THEY THE FLUSHED HEATER CORE, RADIATOR AND OVERFLOW TANK...FLUSHED ENTIRE SYSTEM FILLED AND BLEED SYSTEM WITH NEW COOLANT AND CHECKED TEMP AT 155 DEGREES. THAT SHOULD FIX IT AND IF IT DID NOT THEN THEY WOULD REPLACE THE RADIATOR AND HEATER CORE. THEN GOT IN THE JEEP LET IT RUN FOR OVER 8 MINS HEATER ON LEFT SIDE WAS STILLING BLOWING COOL AND RIGHT WAS BLOWING WARM. TOOK OVER 18 MINS FOR THE LEFT SIDE TO BLOW WARM BUT WAS NOT AS WARM AS RIGHT SIDE. THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED AS TIPM FAILURE (TOTAL INTEGRATED POWER FAILURE). NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON INTERNET WERE FOUND WITH THIS SAME FAILURE. WE ARE VERY CONCERNED OF POTENTIAL FOR CAR CRASH SINCE ALL LIGHTS AND VEHICLE ARE DISABLED WITHOUT WARNING. IF YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL TO COAST YOUR VEHICLE OF THE ROAD THERE IS STILL A DANGER OF BEING HIT BY ANOTHER CAR SINCE THE LIGHT ARE DISABLED. I HAVE A 2012 WRANGLER SAHARA 4DR AND THIS PAST WEEK I HAD TO TOW MY JEEP INTO A DEALERSHIP IN TEXARKANA. I WAS DRIVING 45 MPH AND NOT TRYING TO GUN THE RPMS. I HAD TOTAL SHUTDOWN BUT WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD. THE DEALERSHIP HOOKED IT UP AND TOLD ME THAT MY ASD 25 AMP FUSE HAD BLOWN BUT COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHY. MY JEEP RAN OKAY FOR MUCH OF THE DAY BUT BY NIGHT IT BLEW ANOTHER FUSE AS I ACCELERATED FROM A GREEN LIGHT AND INTO THE INTERSECTION. I REPLACED IT WITH ANOTHER 25 AMP FUSE BUT FEAR THAT IF I PUT A 30 AMP IN THAT IT WOULD BE TOO MUCH FOR A BURN OUT BUT I WANTED TO MAKE SURE I GOT HOME. I DROVE BACK HOME (AN HOUR DRIVE UP AND DOWN HILLS) AND IT SEEMED TO ALWAYS WANT TO RAMP UP THE RPMS SUDDENLY. I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE HAS HAD THIS KINDA ISSUE? I HAVE LESS THAN 25,000 MILES ON MY JEEP. UPDATE... I HAVE NOW HAD THREE FUSES BLOW AND TWO TOWS TO DEALERSHIPS BECAUSE I COULDN'T KEEP A GOOD FUSE. I HOPE SOMEONE CAN PLEASE HELP ME POINT OUT THE DIRECTION THE DEALERSHIP NEEDS TO BE LOOKING FOR. THIS IS GETTING FRUSTRATING. IT SEEMS TO BLOW A FUSE WHEN I HIT ANY TYPE OF BUMP IN THE ROAD. PURCHASED 2012 WRANGLER SAHARA APRIL 2012 NEW EXPERIENCED CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IN NOVEMBER 2012 WITH APPROX 17000 MILES WENT TO DEALER, CODE WAS CYLINDER 2 RE-SET THE COMPUTER THEY SAID THEY HAD TO REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER BASED OFF A TSB THEY HAD RECEIVED. DAY LATER LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN ALONG WITH TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT AND ALSO THE REMOTE START WILL NOT WORK BECAUSE OF THE ENGINE LIGHT ERROR. LOUD TICKING NOISE, LOSS OF POWER OCCASIONALLY AT START UP. LOSS OF GAS MILEAGE. *TR

I EXPERIENCED A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH MY 2012 JEEP SAHARA. AFTER ACCELERATING AND PASSING ANOTHER CAR WHILE DRIVING, I LIFTED OFF THE ACCELERATOR, BUT MY JEEP CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. I TAPPED SEVERAL TIMES ON THE ACCELERATOR, THEN TAPPED THE BRAKE A COUPLE OF TIMES IN CASE THE SPEED CONTROL SOMEHOW ENGAGED. I THEN TRIED TO SEE IF I COULD LIFT THE ACCELERATOR FROM BELOW WITH MY FOOT, BUT IT WASN'T DEPRESSED. THE JEEP WAS CONTINUING TO ACCELERATE AND AT THIS POINT I WAS GOING WELL OVER 80 MPH. FINALLY I WAS LEFT WITH NO CHOICE BUT TO DEPRESS THE CLUTCH AND TAKE THE VEHICLE OUT OF GEAR. I QUICKLY SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AS THE REVS WENT THROUGH THE ROOF. I COASTED ONTO A SIDE ROAD AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART MY JEEP, BUT IT WOULDN'T TURN OVER. I TURNED THE IGNITION TO THE OFF POSITION AND REMOVED THE KEY, PUT THE KEY BACK IN AND TURNED THE IGNITION AT WHICH POINT IT TURNED OVER AND AFTER ABOUT 5 OR 6 SECS IT FINALLY RESTARTED AND EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL. I CHECKED AROUND THE ACCELERATOR AND THE FLOOR MAT WAS SECURELY IN PLACE AND THERE WAS NOTHING AROUND THE ACCELERATOR TO CAUSE IT TO STICK. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE IN MY LIFE AND AM 110% SURE THAT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT DRIVER ERROR. MY FEET WERE COMPLETELY OFF ANY OF THE PEDDLES WHILE THE JEEP CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AND AS I HAD A CLEAR ROAD AHEAD OF ME, I VERY METHODICALLY AND CALMLY TOOK THE ACTIONS I OUTLINED ABOVE IN THE ATTEMPT TO REDUCE THE ENGINE SPEED WITH NO AFFECT UNTIL I FINALLY HAD TO SHUT IT DOWN. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP WRANGLER 4X4. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE COULD SMELL FUMES ENTERING THE VEHICLE FROM THE VENTILATION. THE FUMES CAUSED THE DRIVER AND ANY OTHER PASSENGER THAT ENTERED THE VEHICLE TO BECOME NAUSEOUS AND ENDURE HEADACHES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC FOR THE PARTICULAR MODEL VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REMOVABLE HARD TOP WOULD FLEX WHEN DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH OR HIGHER. THE FAILURE WOULD CAUSE EXTREME CABIN PRESSURE AND CAUSING THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS TO SUFFER SEVERE HEADACHES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE HARD TOP WAS PERFORMING AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 77. I BOUGHT MY 2012 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED SPORT IN NOVEMBER 2011. IT WAS WORKING JUST FINE UNTIL THE SUMMER OF 2012 WHEN MY WIPERS WOULD TURN ON ALL BY THEMSELVES FOR A FEW SECONDS, AND THEN OFF AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL MORE TIMES DURING THE SUMMER. IN ADDITION, THE RADIO WOULD JUST POWER OFF. THE ONLY WAY IT WOULD COME BACK ON WAS TO HIT THE TOP OF THE DASH AND IT POWERED BACK ON. TOOK IT IN AND THEY FLASHED A MODULE WHICH STOPPED THE WIPER ISSUE BUT NOT THE RADIO PROBLEM. THIS WAS JULY 2012. AFTER THAT IN SAME MONTH, I NOTICED AN ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SOLID. TOOK IT IN, THEY RESET IT SAYING IT WAS A CYLINDER #2 MISFIRE. PEOPLE ON WRANGLERFORUMS.COM WERE TALKING ABOUT IT TOO (SEE JK SECTION AND LOOK FOR "TICKING PENTASTAR" THREAD). IT WAS THE BIGGEST THREAD ACTUALLY. APPARENTLY, OVER A HUNDRED OWNERS ON JUST THIS SITE ALONE HAD TO HAVE THEIR HEAD REPLACED. WTF? THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON A COUPLE DAYS LATER SO I TOOK IT BACK IN. THEY CONFIRMED THE SAME RESULT AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD ORDER A NEW HEAD. THE LOCAL DEALER HERE IN SAVANNAH (HOOVER) TOLD ME IT WAS IN. TOOK IN THE JEEP AND THEY SAID IT WOULD TAKE 2-3 DAYS. BIG LIE. AFTER 3 DAYS, I CALLED TO GET STATUS AND THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD BE 2-3 WEEKS!!! THERE WERE SEVERAL PEOPLE IN FRONT OF ME WITH SAME ISSUE AND ONLY ONE GUY FIXING THEM. WITH A MAJOR ISSUE LIKE THIS ON A BRAND NEW VEHICLE, THIS CALLS FOR A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT. I GET SMALL GLITCHES HAPPENING BUT A NEW HEAD??? THEY DID NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ON THE 2013'S SO THIS WILL LIKELY BE A HUGE HEADACHE FOR JEEP. BE WARNED!!!! *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP WRANGLER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TOP WAS OPENED AS IT BEGAN TO RAIN AND SATURATED THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. SEVERAL HOURS LATER, THE CONTACT HE STARTED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS, TURN SIGNALS, EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR LIGHTS, AND THE HORN ALL FAILED. IN ADDITION, THE STEERING WHEEL BUTTONS HAD BECOME INOPERABLE. ALL OF THE INOPERABLE COMPONENTS BECAME OPERABLE WITHIN 24 HOURS. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED BUT ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO FAILURES TO DIAGNOSE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,600.

45 DAYS AND 1960 MILES AND IT IS AT DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT WITH STEERING COLUMN AND DASH ALL APART. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH CLOCK SPRING IN STEERING WHEEL, HOWEVER AFTER THAT WAS REPLACED THEY STILL HAVE PROBLEMS WITH ELECTRONICS IN STEERING COLUMN. SO FAR DEALER DOESN'T KNOW OR IS NOT SURE EXACTLY WHAT IS WRONG. I WAS TOLD THEY WERE WAITING ON A REPLY FROM MANUFACTURE AND THEY WERE HAVING TROUBLE RUNNING TESTS THROUGH CLUSTER. I WILL BE REQUESTING FOR JEEP TO EXCHANGE THIS ONE FOR ANOTHER ONE AS I DON'T TRUST THEY WILL CORRECT THE PROBLEM. WHAT IF I AM FAR FROM HOME AT NIGHT IN THE RAIN. PURCHASED A 2012 JEEP WRANGLER SPORT ON 3/3/12 AT ROUGHLY 2PM CST. AT ABOUT 4PM CST, I PARKED THE JEEP IN MY APARTMENT'S PARKING GARAGE. I DECIDED AT ABOUT 6PM CST TO GO GET SOME DINNER, AND TO CRUISE AROUND AS WELL IN THE NEW VEHICLE. I OBSERVED SMOKE COMING FROM THE PARKING GARAGE, AND WHEN I GOT INTO THE GARAGE, I OBSERVED MY NEW JEEP ON FIRE. THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. BOTH FRONT TIRES EXPLODED AS A RESULT OF THE FIRE, AND THE ENTIRE FRONT END WAS COMPLETELY DAMAGED. THE INTERIOR IS DESTROYED; BASICALLY TOTALED OUT. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED WITH 11 MILES ON THE ODOMETER, AND ENDED WITH ABOUT 17 TOTAL. *TR
