The abs modular has went out in my 2015 jeep wrangler and [being that there is a nation wide backorder I am assuming this is a known problem by jeep.
The contact owns a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the transmission unexpectedly downshifted, and the check engine warning light intermittently flashed on the instrument panel. The contact was able to continue driving. In addition, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine and the failure was progressively worse. The vehicle was taken to a transmission center; however, no cause for the failure was found. The battery was removed and reinstalled. The vehicle software was updated, and the check engine warning light turned off. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while driving 15 MPH during the rain, the vehicle hydroplaned on the road. The contact's father was driving and was able to control the vehicle. The contact stated that the traction control had failed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 134,500.

I have been working with multiple mechanics to diagnose an intermittent and unpredictable stalling issue with my 2015 Jeep Wrangler JK Rubicon Unlimited, VIN [XXX] . I have conducted the following repairs to attempt to fix the issue: 1. Rebuilt Transmission 2. Replaced throttle body 3. Replaced PCV 4. Replaced crankshaft sensor 5. Replaced camshaft sensor 6. Replaced Fuel Pump 7. Replaced fuel pump fuse 8. Replaced fuel pump relay fuse Mechanic and I have traced the problem to a likely fault in the TIPM. Due to unpredictability of stalling this has become a safety issue as the car will stall in traffic. Most often between 35-40 mph and below 2000 RPM...this is always while driving and is unsafe for both me and my fellow motorists. Most recent date is noted later in this form. If requested, I can provide receipts for professional repairs noted above, and receipts for parts I have purchased to replace myself. I am getting ready to replace the oil cooler for the third time since 2022, how can I get a refund or maybe just recalling them. It seems to crack when I drive it every time it’s below 10° and I know this is not normal and it is not a cheap fix.
The radiator is poorly built and leaks, I have had mine replace several times by the dealership This is dangerous because it causes overheating in the engine which can cause hose to bust and engine to seize up . The oil filter house is engineered incorrect and all of them have been breaking causing oil to leak which again, ruins other components in the engine because of loss of oil. Its dangerous because the oil that leaks down through the outer portion of the engine, through to the sides and leaks over the bottom of the transmission onto the ground which is: 1. Environmental hazard- oil leaking causes water pollution, soil contamination, harm to animals and plants 2. Leaking oil is a FIRE HAZARD and safety issues for other vehicles causing slippery conditions for other vehicles 3. Causes engine damage and eventually failure I urge you to obtain the records of all the repairs jeep dealers did both under warranty and past the warranty dates. Your team will see what an issue this is and the 10000000s of Jeep Wranglers that have had these unsafe problems with the OIL Filter Housing and Radiator issues during and after the warranty. Jeep / Chrysler have created a deceptive way for revenue by allowing Jeep dealers to charge the customers for faulty engineering so they can gain profits in repairs that is the Manufacturer's own fault thereby gouging Jeep Wrangler owners.
Repeated failure of right / rear wheel speed sensor. This failure causes immediate loss of automated traction control and ABS system. This item has been worked at 2 separate dealerships for a total of 7 occurrences. Each failure results in warning lamps at instance of failure and retained OBD code. Each occurrence this component has been replaced.
Vehicle engine light flashing while vehicle is on. Vehicle shaking, odometor and other gauges are sporadically flashing and shutting off while driving.
The rear axel continues to blow out the bearings on both sides which ruins the brakes and calibers. 4 times this has happened and I have not been off roads. This is all on the highway. The certified technician said the rear axels need to be replaced. Jeep manufacturer said it is known as a common problem with Jeep so why am I having to pay for it. I want new axels and Jeep should cover it. Plus the electric door locks do not work and it is not a fuse. Jeep said it is a computer error on Jeep but won’t cover it.
While driving we had a huge oil leak, with out the oil indicator light turning on. The Pentastar oil filter housing was cracked leaking oil all over the engine and leaving a burning smell. Same exact thing happened in 2022 to our jeep grand cherokee. There needs to be a recall by Jeep, this is a known defect and safety hazard !! Why no recall???
My truck was making a loud clicking noise and kind or rattle. I took the vehicle in to be serviced. I was told that I needed to have all lifters, rockers and cams replaced. That these items being worn out is a known issue with Jeep Wranglers but there has not been a recall for this issue. The dealership replaced those items the camshaft exhaust, camshaft intake, arm valve, tappet valve lash, gasket cylinder and gasket intake. As stated by the dealership having to replace the lifters, rockers and cams is a known issue. Most people just trade the truck in. I would like to know if this is a known issue why has there not been a recall for this? Also because of the cams this caused the cylinder misfire in the engine.

Vehicles electronic swaybar assembly shorted out in light rain causing cascading faults in abs braking system and power train system. Have video of issue occurring and paperwork from dealer documenting all of the error codes created by the short in the swaybar.
OIL FILTER HOUSING OIL COOLER KIT - HAS CRACK AND LEAKING OIL NEEDS REPLACEMENT

JEEP 2014 AND OLDER ARE ISSUED A PART CALLED THE OIL COOLER/FILTER HOUSING WHICH IS PRONE TO LEAKING OIL ON ALL CHRYSLER ENGINEERS USING THIS PART. THIS IS DEFECTIVE AND OR A DESIGN FLAW RESULTING IN REPLACEMENT AND COSTLY REPAIR AND IS A REOCCURRING FAILURE ON ALL CHRYSLERS USING THIS PART. THIS FAILED ON MY JEEP WRANGLER WITH 48K MILES. THE PART IS APPROXIMATELY $300 TO REPLACE AND OVER ALL REPAIR AT A NON DEALERSHIP IS UPWARDS OF $1000.00. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL!

WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE LOSES PROPULSION; THE RPMS GO TO ZERO FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS AND THEN RETURN TO NORMAL AND ACCELERATION IS REGAINED. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR CODE IS GIVEN. THIS OCCURRED RANDOMLY FOR THE LAST YEAR. IN JUNE OF 2020 I TOOK IT TO JEEP DEALER WHO WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND SAID THAT NO CODE WAS GIVEN. THEN IN DECEMBER OF 2020 THE ISSUE BECAME WORSE TO WHERE THE VEHICLE WOULD COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN AND NOT REGAIN POWER UNLESS RESTARTED. ON ONE OCCASION IT WOULD NOT RESTART, LEAVING ME STRANDED. I TOOK IT TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO ALSO COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC SUGGESTED THAT THE SYMPTOMS SOUND LIKE THEY ARE RELATED TO A FUEL PUMP RELAY, BUT THAT PART IS NOT REPLACEABLE ON MY JEEP. THEY SAID THAT OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES HAVE HAD RECALLS FOR SIMILAR PROBLEMS, BUT NOT MY YEAR MODEL JEEP. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO PERSIST RANDOMLY. SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS TWICE WITHIN AN HOUR, SOMETIMES NOT AT ALL. WHEN IT HAPPENS IT'S ALWAYS IN MOTION. ON JANUARY 16TH I VIDEO RECORDED THE INCIDENT WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE THE ENTIRE THING ON VIDEO THAT I CAN SHARE WITH YOU. IN THE VIDEO YOU CAN SEE THAT I'M DRIVING AT A STEADY SPEED AT 2500 RPMS. THEN THE RPMS FLASH QUICKLY TO 3500 RPMS AND THEN INSTANTLY DROP TO ZERO, AS THOUGH THE IGNITION HAD BEEN TURNED OFF. ALTHOUGH I STILL HAVE ELECTRICAL, AS MY RADIO AND BLINKERS ARE WORKING, THE JEEP VERY QUICKLY LOSES POWER STEERING. IF I HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO QUICKLY PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY MY JEEP WOULD HAVE BEEN DEAD AND STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY. I THEN ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE JEEP, BUT IT WOULD NOT START. I WOULD TURN THE KEY JUST ONCE AND LET GO, BUT THE JEEP WOULD CONTINUE TRYING TO START OVER AND OVER FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS BEFORE STOPPING. I WAS UNABLE TO START THE JEEP UNTIL WAITING FOR A PERIOD OF ABOUT 10 MINUTES. THEN IT STARTED UP AND OPERATED NORMALLY.

THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION WILL MAKE A LOUD NOISE AND POP OUT OF GEAR. SHIFTING IS VERY BAD TOO. THE SOUND IS SO LOUD IT CAUSES MY ANXIETY TO BECOME UNBEARABLE. IT HAPPENS WHEN FIRST TRYING TO TAKE OFF IN FIRST GEAR. I'VE HAD IT HAPPEN A COUPLE OF TIMES WHEN ATTEMPTING A LEFT TURN AT A STOPLIGHT. I PUT IT IN 1ST GEAR AND WHEN LETTING OUT THE CLUTCH IT VIOLENTLY JUMPS OUT OF GEAR. IT IS LOUD AND SHOCKING AND OBVIOUSLY THE VEHICLE STOPS MOVING FORWARD. I HAVE TO QUICKLY PUSH IN THE CLUTCH TO ATTEMPT TO PUT IT BACK INTO GEAR TO TRY TO GET THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. LUCKILY I HAVEN'T BEEN HIT BY AN ONCOMING VEHICLE, BUT WHEN YOU LOSE ALL POWER TRYING TO TURN LEFT IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I REACHED OUT TO A COUPLE OF DEALERS, BUT THEY CLAIM TO NOT BE AWARE OF THE SITUATION. SINCE I SEE REPORTS ON THE JEEP FORUMS, IT IS OBVIOUS TO ME THAT IT IS A COMMON AND DANGEROUS ISSUE THAT NEEDS ATTENTION FROM THE MANUFACTURER BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED.

THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN PREVIOUSLY TO THE SAME DEALER FOR THE SAME FAILURE HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC FAILED TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. DEALER AWARE OF CYLINDER MISFIRES ON JKS BUT DID NO DIAGNOSTIC TEST TO DETERMINE WHY LIFTERS/CAMS/ROCKERS FAILED; DID NOT PERFORM INSPECTION. TEN DAYS LATER, CEL WITH PO302 (#2 MISFIRE). REPLACED PLUGS; COIL CODE DID NOT CLEAR. RETURN TO DEALER WHO STATED WORK WAS NOT RELATED TO PREVIOUS WORK THEY JUST COMPLETED AND ACKNOWLEDGED MISFIRE IS A COMMON PROBLEM THEY ROUTINELY IN WRANGLERS THEY SERVICE. DEALER ALSO STATED THE 2011-2013 TSB EXTENDED WARRANTY ALSO APPLIED BEYOND THOSE MODEL YEARS TO OTHER ENGINES FROM SPECIFIC PRODUCTION RUNS BUT WOULD NOT PROVIDE INFO. FILED COMPLAINT WITH JEEP CUST CARE WHO SAID SAME - NOT UNDER WARRANTY, REFERRED ME BACK TO DEALER. NOT ASKING JEEP TO REPAIR ENGINE WITH EXCESSIVE MILEAGE OR WEAR - I AM ASKING JEEP TO EXTEND SAME COVERAGE AS 2011-2013 BECAUSE JEEP HAS NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. NO ENGINE WITH 55K MILES SHOULD NEED THE EXTENT OF ENGINE WORK I'VE HAD DONE WITH LOW MILEAGE. DRIVING THRU INTERSECTION AT 40 MPH.WHEN IT SHIFTED IT STOPPED FORWARD MOTION.THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN AS I STEPPED IN GAS,THE JEEP WOULD NOT MOVE.. THE SWAY BAR DOES NOT STAY LOCKED HAS NOT SINCE I GOT THE JEEP RUBICON NEW IN 2015 AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THE DEALER WHERE I GOT THE JEEP FROM TO FIX IT. THERE IS A SWITCH ON THE DASH TO LOCK AND UNLOCK THE SWAY BAR AND A LIGHT ON THE DASH THAT SAYS THAT THE SWAY BAR IS UNLOCKED, THE LIGHT IS NOT ON BUT THE SWAY BAR IS UNLOCKED AND THE JEEP IS VERY UNSTABLE WHEN TRYING TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY AND EVEN THE STREET IT VERY BOUNCY AND WHEN TURNING A COUNTER AT A NORMAL RATE OF SPEED THE TIRES COME OFF THE GROUND. THE SWAY BAR WILL NOT LOCK NO MATTER WHAT WE DO IT JUST COMES UNLOCKED AS SOON AS I START DRIVING. IT IS VERY UNSAFE. HAVING THE SWAY BAR UNLOCKED IS FOR OFF-ROAD OR ROCK CRAWLING NOT DRIVING ON THE NORMAL ROAD OR HIGHWAY.

THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER, OPENED THE DOOR, AND THE FIRE SPREAD. THE CONTACT HAD TO QUICKLY EXIT THE VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD AND DEEMED DESTROYED BY THE CONTACT'S INSURANCE COMPANY. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. TSB NUMBER: 06-001-15 WAS MENTIONED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED TWICE BEFORE BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,721.

DISTRACTING GRIND AND SEVERE GEARSHIFT VIBRATION DURING THE 1ST GEAR TO 2ND GEAR UP SHIFT. IT APPEARS AS THOUGH THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER WILL VIOLENTLY COME OFF. THE GRINDING IS EXTREMELY DISTRACTING TO THE DRIVER AS GEARS MOVING AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS COME VIOLENTLY TO STOP AS OPPOSED SMOOTHLY MESHING TOGETHER. THE SHIFTING OPERATION PRODUCES A SENSATION THAT REVERBERATES UP THE HAND AND ARM CAUSING A DISTRACTING JOLT TO THE DRIVER. AT THIS TIME, ALL THE OTHER UP SHIFTS ARE NORMAL, MAKING THE 1ST TO 2ND GEAR UP SHIFT ASYMMETRICALLY DIFFERENT THAN ALL THE OTHER UP SHIFTS. THIS HAPPENS REGULARLY REGARDLESS OF AMBIENT TEMPERATURE, GRADE, OR FAST, SLOW, OR RAPID SHIFTING MAKING THE VEHICLE A NUISANCE AND A SAFETY HAZARD TO DRIVE.

TOOK JEEP BACK TO DEALER BECAUSE I DID NOT HAVE HEAT. THEY SAID RADIATOR HAD HOLE IN IT AND HEATING CORE WAS BAD. THATS CRAZY FOR A 2015 THAT I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF. IT WAS ALWAYS BAD. THE ONLY HEAT THAT WORKED WAS FULL ON RED DOT. IF I MOVED IT ONE NOTCH UP/COLDER IT WOULD TURN COLD. I NEVER HAD HEAT COMING OUT OF THE DUCT NEAR THE DRIVER WINDOW. ALWAYS COLD. I PURCHASED AT BOB & CHUCK EDDY AUSTINTOWN OHIO. IT'S NOW JIM SHORKEY DEALERSHIP. MY PROBLEM IS I DRIVE ALOT AND HAVE 160K MILES ON MY JEEP. THESE ITEMS SHOULD NOT BE GOING BAD THIS QUICKLY. I STILL OWE OVER 13K FOR THE JEEP. NOW THIS IS COSTING ME OVER 2K FOR THIS FIX.
DROVE 1018 MILES JEEP WAS RUNNING FINE. STOPPED AT A HOTEL TO CHECK IN. WHEN I WENT BACK OUT TO START IT, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON AND WAS A SOLID LIGHT (NO BLINKING). DROVE IT THANKSGIVING DAY AND TOOK IT TO A DEALER ON FRIDAY WITH THE CODE P0304. MECHANIC TELLS ME THAT IT NEEDS A NEW CYLINDER HEAD AND IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE BACK HOME 1018 MILES. I LEARNED LATER THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND JEEP ISSUED A LIFETIME WARRANTY COVERING UP TO 2013. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH AND READING, THE ISSUE STILL CONTINUES THROUGH THE 2016 MODELS. WITH JEEP VEHICLES THAT HAVE BEEN LIFTED USING THE OEM MOPAR 'JEEP PERFORMANCE PARTS' 4" LIFT KIT PRODUCT, WHEREBY FOLLOWING 'JEEP DEALER PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION' AND IN CERTAIN DRIVING SCENARIOS, THE REAR PROPELLER SHAFT COMES INTO DIRECT CONTACT WITH BOTH THE VEHICLE'S EVAP TANK ON DRIVER-SIDE AND FUEL TANK ON PASSENGER-SIDE UNDER CERTAIN RAISED FRONT INDEPENDENT RIGHT OR LEFT WHEEL ARTICULATION SCENARIOS AND I HAVE PERSONALLY INCURRED DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLES OEM PROPELLER SHAFT AND BOOT SLEEVE AND THE ADJACENT EVAP TANK AND FUEL TANK ITEMS FROM THE OEM PROPELLER SHAFT MAKING DIRECT CONTACT WITH BOTH THE EVAP AND FUEL TANKS UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN TAKEN OFF ROAD, OUTSIDE OF USUAL DRIVING DOWN UNPAVED ROADS.

DEALER NOT ABLE TO REPRODUCE STALLING AFTER TESTING FOR 10 MILES. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES. DROPPED OFF AT DEALER AGAIN THIS MORNING.

TWO WEEKS AGO THE JEEP FAILED TO SHIFT OUT OF GEAR ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE DRIVING TO WORK. PRIOR TO THIS IT WAS NOT DISPLAYING ANY ISSUES. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO A STOP IN THE BREAKDOWN LANE AND CALLED FOR A TOW BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. LATER THAT DAY I RECEIVED A CALL FROM A SERVICE MANAGER, ROGER THAT THE CLUTCH WAS WORN OUT AND REQUIRED REPLACEMENT. I WAS SHOCKED THAT A VEHICLE THAT IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD WITH LESS THAT 18K MILES WOULD NEED A CLUTCH SINCE ABOUT ALL I DO WITH IT IS DRIVE TO WORK. HE EXPLAINED THAT THIS IS A WEAR PART AND NOT UNDER THE WARRANTEE SINCE I WAS OVER 12K MILES. LATER THE NEXT DAY THEY CALLED ME DOWN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO EXAMINE THE FULL EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE. THE CLUTCH JUST DIDN'T WEAR IT SHREDDED ITSELF APART CAUSING A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE IN THE TRANSMISSION. THE MECHANIC (WHO SEEMED TO KNOW WHAT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT) EXPLAINED THAT BASED ON THE FLYWHEEL CONDITION THAT THIS WAS NOT A CASE OF GRADUAL WEAR BUT A SUDDEN FAILURE THAT DAMAGED THE FLYWHEEL AND TRANSMISSION HOUSING. HE WAS BASING THAT ASSESSMENT ON THE FACT THAT THE FLYWHEEL WAS NOT WORN AT ALL AND SHOWED ME WHAT A WORN FLYWHEEL WOULD LOOK LIKE. UPON HEARING THAT I INSISTED THAT THIS SHOULD BE A WARRANTY COVERED REPAIR AS IT SOUNDED LIKE A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT THAT CAUSED THIS AND CERTAINLY NOTHING I'VE DONE. BASICALLY THE CLUTCH EXPLODED AND CAUSED THIS. I'VE POSTED THIS STORY ON A FEW JEEP FORUMS AND FOUND A FEW OTHER JEEP OWNERS THAT WERE TOLD THE SAME THIS. SHE WENT TO THE DEALER AND COMPLAINED . SHE WAS TOLD WE HAD TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WHICH WOULD BE BEYOND A MONTH AND THEY WOULD KEEP IT FOR A SPELL . NO RENTAL OR LOANER...I WORK OUT OF TOWN AND GETTING IT IN ON APPOINTMENT IS NOT ALWAYS FEASABLE BEING MY WIFE IS ON DISABILITY AND NEEDS A VEHICLE. SINCE THEN THE PASSENGER SEATBELT HAS STUCK ON NUMEROUS OCCASION AND CANNOT BE OPERATED PROPERLY.THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE LATCH STICKING AND NOT RELEASING. SHE SAID TO GET IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS AND IF I HAD ANY OTHER ISSUESTO CALL HER BACK AND GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER. I CONTACTED THE DEALER BUT NO REPAIRS YET. THEY SAY WAIT FOR APPOINTMENT. I DID GO TO THE RECALL WEBSITE AND NOTICED OTHERS HAVING A WEATHER ISSUE, A FEW SEATBELTS AND ALSO THE SO CALLED DEATH WOBBLE. I ASKED THE WIFE FOR THE FULL SYMPTOMS AND TO MY SURPRISE IT IS THE KNOWN DEATH WOBBLE.SHE SAID IT WILL SHAKE VIOLANTLY AFTER 60MPH AND THEN JUMP OUT OF GEAR , POP INTO NUETRAL.
