Our 2015 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited just caught on fire. I happened to be in my daughter’s bedroom, 20 feet away from where the Jeep was parked. I thought I was seeing flames reflecting from the TV, but I realized that they were real. My next thought was that my husband was building a firepit fire. I thought that was weird because he was doing it in the front yard, but I didn’t think any more about it because I was so focused on my work. I went back to work for a second, but something told me to look again. I did, and then realized that it was the Jeep that was on fire. I screamed for my husband, but couldn’t find him; I was scared that he was in the Jeep. Actually, he had been in the back yard and heard me screaming, so he ran up front to see what was happening. I called 911 while my husband tried to put the fire out with the water hose, which didn’t help- the flames kept getting higher. It took firefighters a while to extinguish the flames and to get it cooled off. The engine appears to be melted. It is in our yard and available for inspection. The fire fighters made a report that my husband has requested. We’re waiting on the insurance company to contact us. The fire smelled electrical. We smelled no gasoline. I was absolutely horrified thinking about what might have happened if it had ignited at night when no one was looking. My daughter, my pets, my husband, and I could have all been casualties of this spontaneous fire. The fact that it was day time, the unusual coincidence that I was where I was so that I saw the fire, and the fact that my husband parked on a different side of the yard than usual, all probably are the reasons we are alive today. Had any one of those events not been in play, it could have been a very different outcome. My husband had no indication that there was a problem with the Jeep. He’d just driven it. He reported no odors and no problems at all. He takes excellent care of it, so it was in great condition.

Airbag Clock spring has failed in my 2015 Jeep Wrangler. The airbag dash light is now on and the whole steering wheel system no longer functions properly. I see there was a documented recall for this year/model. It’s not showing on my VIN. The clock spring has failed in my vehicle.

ABS MODULE IS FAULTY AND CANNOT BE REPLACED. VEHICLE BRAKES SPONGY AND UNRESPONSIVE. PLASTIC OIL MODULE PIECE HAS BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES, BUT LESS IMPACTING THAN ABS MODULE.

The ABS light came on all of a sudden. The mechanic says the ABS module is bad. This seems to be a widespread problem as our Jeep has been out of commission for over a month now due to a replacement part lack of availability.

ABS Module/brake and traction light came on in 2021. Jeep dealership said ABS Module is on backorder. The Jeep at that time was still drivable. Now, May 2025, The ABS Module has caused so many items to fail that I can no longer drive it. It is currently at the dealership and they just called to say that the transmission and 0 mph is due to the ABS Module and it is still on backorder with no time frame for them to come in IF they do at all. How can this be legal? I can't drive it and I can't sell it! It is my only Car! It is dangerous to have this problem with no fix! What can I do?

The component that is failing is unknown. Unknown to mechanics because a code is not thrown. I can be driving in my neighborhood, on the highway or coasting and my Jeep stalls. Everything else is working, radio, heater just the rpm goes to zero. I have to quick turn on my hazards and prey I can coast to safety. Once out of traffics way and I am in park my car will restart no problem. my safety is at risk because it will happen on the highway. My mechanic has checked all the sensors, fuel pump and filter, battery cables, alternator you name it its been checked or replaced. I have read Jeep forums to see what others are saying and there are over 100 other jeeps that have this same problem. People are spending thousands of dollars to change out computers several times for it to keep happening and jeep has no answers. It first happened two years ago, then about one time 6 months later and then 6 months are that it happened again. But recently its been happening everyday. No matter it I am coasting, on the highway or in my local area it will stall. No warning lights no engine lights just no response in the gas peddle when it stalls. This is going to be super dangerous if other jeeps keep stalling on the highways. Check out forums it happens all the time. Jeep dealers just want to keep changing sensors for 200 here and there.

I have experience a complete loss of control of the vehicle on both highways and streets that are bumpy due to dips, potholes, rough conditions due to the road. I received a misfire on cylinder 4 code P0304 and was told my vehicle isn’t covered for any recalls, but see that this is a common issue in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2017 models. I want to know if any recalls or lawsuits are going on because my dealership informed me there aren’t any and it would take a week to even be able to diagnose the issue.

I had a 2015 2 dr Jeep Wrangler Willy's edition. In march 2023, after sitting cold in the driveway for 10+ hours, it spontaneously combusted. It was very obviously an electrical fire based on the smell alone. It appeared that the most damage was in the area of the battery and fuse box. Vehicle was completely totaled and I found many reports online of similar issues, including many wranglers that were completely totaled after the fire. There is no official acknowledgement of this recurring issue. The fire caught so fast, if I had not been parked in the driveway faced away from the house, I might not have a home either. Insurance did not do an investigation into the cause of the fire.

My vehicle has been suddenly shutting off while I am driving. There is no warning that anything is wrong with the vehicle. The first time it happened was October 2021. When it has these failures they happen multiple times. The next day the car operates normally. There are no consistencies when this happens - it has shut off when I am driving 20mph and 60mph. There are no error messages that come up on the vehicle. I took it to Chuck Patterson and they were unable to retrieve an error code and refused to diagnose intermittent issues. They did not find any visible issues with the vehicle. I have an open case with Stellantis but they have not done anything. This issue has happened when I am driving my 2 year old nephew and is life threatening. Stellantis has not sent out anyone to inspect my vehicle. I bought the vehicle brand new special order and it has 104,000. I have not had any issues until now.

Back in 2015 Jeep dealership sold me a 3rd party GPS theft tracking system. I used the website to access it out of curiosity, no problems had occurred. After the first initial month of installation, never bothered with it again. In truth of it all I had forgotten all about it until 2021 when I was running a dash am wire under the dash. The module is open and exposed to condensation. The module consisting of a small li-ion battery and a circuit board that's held on by velcro. The battery had swelled and off gassed rendering device inoperable. Who nows for how long it's been in that condition. The device is still attached with blown out battery, don't even know if GPS is still operational. I don't remember the company's website or physical address and number. But according to my purchasing forms from jeep the service is titled "MOBILE TRACE". Last time I checked if li-ion and moisture mix unsafe things can happen not to mention the inhalation of the gasses.

First, my vehicle intermittently would not allow me to scroll through the on dash menu, then the steering wheel audio controls began to do the same. Eventually, all steering wheel controls except cruise control ceased to operate including the horn. This was all just inconvenient until the horn ceased to work. Multiple times now I’ve been on the roadway while other cars have drifted into my lane with no way of making my presence known. Finally, my airbag light began intermittently coming on. Within two days, it’s now on all the time. I understand this to mean that my driver side airbag will not deploy in the case of a collision. This is a basic safety function that is not working and is due to a known manufacturer’s design flaw.

The manual shifting lever for the manual transmission came loose in my hand while driving and rotated freely preventing me from shifting into the proper gear. This occurred while shifting from 1st to 2nd gear while negotiating a corner. The vehicle was unable to be shifted into gear and I ended up blocking the traffic in the intersection. Very dangerous loosing the ability to move forward in a controlled manner at an intersection. This particular intersection was a "round about". Doing a little research online I found many of the same complaints. It seems that a rubber bushing fails and results in a loss of shifting ability. Poor design!

I THOUGHT IT MAY BE DUE TO AIRBAG RECALL BUT WHEN I WENT TO MY DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE RECALL WORK DONE, THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG ONLY BUT THAT IT COULD BE THE CLOCKSPRING BECAUSE THEY HAVE HAD SEVERAL JEEPS COME IN FOR THAT SAME ISSUE. I WAS ACTUALLY DRIVING, TRYING TO AVOID A CAR COMING INTO MY LANE WHEN I FOUND OUT I HAD NO HORN! THAT'S HOW I FOUND OUT.

WHEN THE 4 DOORS ARE REMOVED AND THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION IS UNPLUGGED THE BATTERY WILL DRAIN OVER NIGHT TO 5.6 VOLTS, JEEP WILL NOT START. CHARGE BATTERY TO 12.6 VOLTS DOORS ARE STILL OFF BATTERY WILL DIE AGAIN. PUTTING THE DOORS BACK ON BATTERY IS GOOD WITH NO PROBLEMS. BATTERY DIES TO A NO START CONDITION ONLY WHEN DOORS ARE REMOVED. THIS IS WHILE PARKED IN A GARAGE, KEY OUT VEHICLE OFF WITH NO DOORS ATTACHED BATTERY DIES, BATTERY HAS CHECKED GOOD SEVERAL TIMES. IT IS NOT THE BATTERY.

MY JEEP CAUGHT FIRE FROM THE DASH, REASONS UNKNOWN. INSURANCE IS INVESTIGATING AND FIRE DEPT PUT CAUSE AS UNKNOWN. JEEP IS A TOTAL LOSS AND MY HUSBAND BARELY MADE IT OUT OF THE VEHICLE BEFORE IT WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. HE WAS DRIVING FROM SCHOOL TO HOME AND ABOUT A MILE FROM HOME ON THE HIGHWAY ABOUT TO EXIT.*DT CONSUMER STATED AS HE WAS TRYING TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND PULL THE E-BRAKE, HE WAS BURNT ON HIS HAND AND A LITTLE ON HIS LEGS BY THE TIME HE JUMPED OUT. ON THE DAY OF THE INCIDENT, MY HUSBAND DROVE APPROXIMATELY 5-6 MILES TO CLASS (AS HE IS IN A TECHNICAL SCHOOL RIGHT NOW) AROUND 6:30 AM. AS HE WAS COMING HOME, IT STARTED SMOKING ABOUT HALF WAY UP THE ON RAMP HEADING IN THE DIRECTION TO THE EXIT TO OUR HOME, MY HUSBAND SAID RIGHT BEFORE IT STARTED SMOKING IT ALMOST SOUND LIKE THAT BLOWER MOTOR WAS MAKING A STRANGE NOISE, AND HE WAS HEADED HOME TO LOOK AT IT, BUT THE NOISE QUIT RIGHT BEFORE IT STARTED SMOKING. HE DID HIS BEST TO GET IT OUT OF TRAFFIC, BUT AS I STATED, WITH IT BEING A SOFT TOP, IT WENT UP IN FLAMES RATHER QUICK. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED EVERY 4,000-5,000 MILES. MY HUSBAND HAS A MOTORCYCLE, SO THE TIME SPENT IN THE JEEP WAS MAINLY IN COOLER WEATHER OR WHEN IT WAS RAINING/OVERCAST. THERE WERE NOT ISSUE LEADING UP TO THE FIRE. WE HAD TAKEN IT ON SHORT TRIPS - LONGEST DISTANCE WAS LIKE 100 MILES ROUND TRIP, BUT HADN'T DONE THAT IN AWHILE. THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS, STATE FARM TOTALED THE VEHICLE, WE HAVE NOT HAD POSSESSION OF THE JEEP SINCE IT WAS TOWED FROM THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BY WHOEVER THE FIRE DEPT CALLED (ALLIED TOWING). AFTER THAT INSURANCE HAD IT TOWED TO A LOCATION OF THEIR OWN. I BELIEVE MY HUSBAND ONLY HAD A SUB WOOFER IN THE JEEP, YOU CAN SEE IT IN THE BACK IN SOME OF THE PICTURES. I BELIEVE AT SOME POINT THE STEREO WAS CHANGED BUT THAT WAS BEFORE WE OWNED IT AND IT WAS IN OUR POSSESSION FOR ALMOST 1 YEAR PRIOR TO THE FIRE. I HAVE NO CONTACTED THE FCA, I WASN'T SURE WHO TO REACH OUT TO FOR THIS ISSUE.*JB

THE HORN ON MY WRANGLER HAS BEEN VERY STIFF SINCE DAY ONE. YOU HAVE TO REALLY PUSH DARN HARD ON IT TO ACTIVATE THE SOUND, SO MUCH THAT IT IS A REAL SAFETY CONCERN. A COUPLE TIMES I WAS VERY CLOSE TO BEING HIT AND I SINCERELY BELIEVE THAT THE DELAY IN BEING ABLE TO BEEP QUICKLY IS A MAJOR CONCERN. I READ ON A JEEP WRANGLER FORUM THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE AS WELL. I BOUGHT MY JEEP USED WITH APPROX. 22,000 MILES ON IT ON JANUARY 1,2017. I HAD BEGAN SMELLING BURNING FROM UNDER THE JEEP. WITH A OIL CHANGE THE MAN STATED THAT IT WAS LEAKING FROM THE FRONT AND REAR AXIL ASSEMBLY. I CALLED THE DEALER AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM AND MADE A APPOINTMENT. I HAD APPROX. 35000 MILES ON THE JEEP. I WAS TOLD AFTER PICKING UP MY JEEP BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE LEAKS WERE FIXED. IN ABOUT A 2 WEEKS I COULD STILL SMELL BURNING. I THOUGHT IT MAY BE RESIDUAL FROM BEING FIXED. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I CALLED TO MAKE APPOINTMENT. I HAD CHECKED THE TIRE PRESSURE AND THE TIRES FOR ANY ISSUES. I TOLD SERVICE THAT THE JEEP BECAME ROUGHER TO DRIVE AND HARDER TO STEER, 2 WEEKS AFTER THAT I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, HIT A BUMP AND THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO POUND & SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY. IT FELT LIKE THE FRONT TIRES WERE SHAKING BACK AND FORTH FAST. I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE JEEP. I PULLED OVER ( 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC) TO THE SIDE TO ASSESS THE ISSUE. THE TIRES WERE INTACT WITH NO VISIBLE ISSUES. WHEN I STARTED BACK UP THE WHEELS WERE NO LONGER DOING THE WOBBLING. I DID READ AND FOUND "THE "DEATH WOBBLE" IS A CREATIVE TERM COINED BY JEEP OWNERS THAT DESCRIBES A SITUATION WHEN THE FRONT AXLE BEGINS VIOLENTLY OSCILLATING, CAUSING THE CAR TO SHAKE (OR WOBBLE) IN A MANNER WHICH MAKES THE VEHICLE HARD TO CONTROL". I DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND EXPLAINED THE ISSUE AND TOLD THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WORKER IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND IT NEEDED FIXED. I DO HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT FIX IT AND IT WOULD TAKE 2 TO 3 WEEKS BEFORE I COULD GET A APPOINTMENT. I WAS VERY UPSET KNOWING IT WAS NOT SAFE BUT HAD NO CHOICE TO MAKE THE EARLIEST APPOINTMENT 2 WEEKS OUT. I WAS TOLD I COULD GET A RENTAL CAR, I STATED I WAS NOT PAYING FOR A RENTAL WHEN MY JEEP IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THEY WILL NOT FIX IT SOONER. MILEAGE WAS 37,753

MY 2015 JEEP WRANGLER SAHARA UNLIMITED HAS DEVELOPED THE "DEATH WOBBLE" AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. IT WILL BEGIN TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE AFTER HITTING ANY SMALL BUMP ON THE ROADWAY AT SPEEDS RANGING FROM 50 MPH TO 70 MPH*. SHAKING IS SO BAD THAT I HAVE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AS FAST AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE ITS VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL WHILE IT SHAKES. * I ONLY SAID AT SPEEDS UP TO 70 MPH BECAUSE THAT'S THE FASTEST SPEED LIMIT WHERE I LIVE. I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT IT WILL DO IT MORE VIOLENTLY AT HIGHER SPEEDS.

THIS VEHICLE, WHILE SITTING IN A DRIVEWAY, ENGINE OFF FOR AT LEAST 1/2 HOUR, HAD A FIRE START IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO BE A TOTAL BURN. CHRYSLER INVESTIGATOR RULED THAT IT WAS NOT A "MANUFACTURING DEFECT." I HAVE MANY PICTURES OF THE FIRE EVENT AND AFTER FIRE REMAINS. I HAVE BEEN IN THE RETAIL AUTOMOTIVE BUSINESS FOR 30+ YEARS. I ALSO WAS A PUBLIC SPEAKER FOR CHRYSLER CORP AS WELL. HAD MY SON NOT STOPPED AT A FRIENDS HOUSE FOR DINNER, THAT FIRE WOULD HAVE OCCURRED IN MY GARAGE!! IT IS CRIMINAL WITH SO MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS FOUND ONLINE, THAT THEY WOULD CONTINUE TO TAKE THIS POSITION.

OUR JEEP GOES INTO A VIOLENT SHAKE WHICH MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL JUST TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND STOP THE VEHICLE. WE FOUND OUT THIS IS CALLED THE JEEP DEATH WOBBLE. IT STARTED VERY SOON AFTER WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AND IT STILL DOES IT.

RIGHT OUT OF THE FACTORY I HAD A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM I TOOK IT IN THE FOURTH GEAR SYNCHRONIZER WAS BAD AND THE SHAFT HAD IT REPLACED NOW WITH 15000 MILES IN IT THE ENGINE IS KNOCKING AND THE TRANS IS SCREECHING WHEN I LET THE CLUTCH OUT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN ON TUESDAY ITS VERY UNFORTUNATE PAYING 40 GRAND FOR A VEHICLE THAT'S BROKEN RIGHT OUT OF THE DEALER

THE REGULATION REQUIRING HEADRESTS TO TILT FORWARD IS RIDICULOUS AND CAUSES ME SIGNIFICANT NECK DISCOMFORT. I HAVE TO LEAN THE DRIVER'S SEAT BACK FARTHER THAN I WANT SO THAT THE HEADREST DOESN'T PUSH MY HEAD FORWARD. STUPID BEAURICRATIC REGULATION.

THERE IS A DISTINCT DELAY BETWEEN PRESSING THE HORN BUTTON (STEERING WHEEL) AND ACTIVATION/SOUNDING OF THE HORN. THIS DELAY CAN BE OVER 1 SECOND. THIS HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP'S ATTENTION. THEY CLAIM THAT IT IS WORKING PROPERLY, WHEN CLEARLY IT IS NOT. MANY TIMES, I HAVE TRIED TO "BEEP" THE HORN TO EITHER AVOID AN INCIDENT, OR OTHERWISE, AND IT HAS NEVER REACTED AS NECESSARY.

ENGINE PROBLEMS: STARTING SUMMER 2015 ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING, ACCELERATING, SLOWING DOWN, STOPPED ENGINE WILL NOT GO BACK INTO GEAR ENGINE LOSES POWER WHEN ACCELERATING OR CRUISING BROUGHT INTO DEALERSHIP (PURCHASE LOCATION) APPROXIMATELY AUGUST 19TH 2015 RELEASED SEPTEMBER 2ND 2015 PROBLEMS PERSISTED BROUGHT INTO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP APPROXIMATELY SEPTEMBER 14TH 2015 RELEASED APPROXIMATELY SEPTEMBER 26TH PROBLEMS PERSISTED BROUGHT INTO DEALERSHIP SEPTEMBER 30TH 2015 STILL IN CUSTODY AS OF OCTOBER 8TH ON SEPTEMBER 29TH, I WAS TAKING AN ON RAMP FOR AN INTERSTATE. THE RAMP IS AN UPHILL, HAIR PIN TURN THAT THEN TURNS INTO AN OFF-RAMP FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED AN ISSUE ACCELERATING AND MERGING INTO THE INTERSTATE TRAFFIC HERE. HOWEVER, THIS AFTERNOON I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET THE ACCELERATION THAT I EXPECTED. WHEN I RAN OUT OF RAMP ROOM, I WOULD HAVE NEEDED TO SLOW DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY IN ORDER TO ALLOW THE SIDE BY SIDE TRACTOR TRAILERS TO GO BY. HOWEVER, BECAUSE OF OTHER CARS THAT WERE BEHIND ME ON THE ON-RAMP, THAT WAS NOT AN OPTION WITHOUT POSSIBLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. SO I MERGED WITH AS MUCH POWER AS I COULD GET, WHICH WAS NOT ENOUGH. THE CLOSEST TRACTOR TRAILING CAME BARRELING DOWN UPON ME QUICKLY WITH HORN BLARING. ON SEPTEMBER 30TH, JUST A COUPLE MILES AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS THE FIRST IN LINE AT A RED LIGHT. THE JEEP SHUT OFF. I COULD NOT GET IT BACK INTO GEAR. IT JUST REMAINED IN NEUTRAL NO MATTER WHICH GEAR I TRIED TO PUT IT IN. I SHIFTED IN AND OUT OF PARK AND OTHER GEARS TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON MANY TIMES. A FEW TIMES DRIVE WOULD ENGAGE BUT THEN THE ENGINE WOULD SHUT OFF AGAIN AFTER A FEW FEET. I FINALLY GOT IT INTO GEAR AND ACCELERATED QUICKLY HOPING TO COVER A GREATER DISTANCE AND IT WORKED. I WAS ABLE TO FINISH MY TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP.

ABOUT 30 MINUTES AFTER MIDNIGHT ON A THURSDAY MORNING I WAS AWOKE BY THE SOUND OF MY DOG BARKING AND MY SISTER WALKING INTO MY ROOM TELLING ME THERE WAS A LARGE GLOW IN THE DRIVEWAY. AFTER WALKING OUTSIDE, WE FOUND MY BRAND NEW 2015 WRANGLER ON FIRE WITH VERY LARGE FLAMES ERUPTING FROM THE HOOD. WE QUICKLY WOKE THE REST OF MY FAMILY AND RUSHED FRANTICALLY TO PUT IT OUT. AN HOUR LATER, AFTER NEARBY NEIGHBORS ARRIVED TO HELP, AND EMERGENCY SERVICES ARRIVED TO PUT OUT THE FIRE (LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT AND POLICE) THE VEHICLE FIRE WAS DOUSED AND THE JEEP WAS HAULED OFF MY PROPERTY TO A LOCAL TOWING YARD. THE FIRE SEEMED TO HAVE STARTED AROUND THE BATTERY AREA, BUT THE SOURCE HAS YET TO BE DETERMINED. THE FIRE CLAIMED THE ENTIRE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, MOST OF THE DRIVERS DASH BOARD AND DRIVERS INTERIOR, AND THE ENTIRE FRONT LEFT TIRE/TRIM.

I WAS DRIVING MY JEEP ON MY PROPERTY AND HAD STOPPED FOR A MOMENT. NEXT THING I KNOW IT WAS ON FIRE AND IT SPREAD SO QUICKLY I HAD NO CHOICE BUT LEAVE THE VEHICLE AND CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. I WAS LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO GET OUT.
