I recently got into an accident in my 2016 Jeep Wrangler. My airbags never deployed however. Also my buttons on the left side of my steering wheel do not work and my horn does not work. After realizing all this I believe it is an issue with the clock spring. I did research and found in 2024 there was a recall for the clock spring but only in the RHD model. My car is a LHD model but it seems the same issue has occurred and my clock spring failed.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The contact recently replaced the windshield wiper motor due to a failure of the intermittent speed settings not functioning properly. The contact stated that after replacing the wiper motor, the contact was only able to use the wipers on the fast speed setting. An independent mechanic informed the contact that the vehicle was taken to the shop for repair, or he could replace the wiper blade switch on the steering column. The contact repaired the vehicle himself. The contact stated that after the repair was completed, while driving out of the driveway at approximately 2 MPH, the driver's side front air bag deployed. The contact followed the instructions to install the wiper blade switch carefully. The contact was still only able to use the wipers on the fast speed setting. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 132,552.

On September 2, 2025, while driving at 65 mph, I lost control of my vehicle three times. The traction control light came on each time, creating a serious safety risk to me and others. The issue appears to involve the airbag clockspring/steering column assembly, matching symptoms reported under Safety Recall 27B (RC-27B-24). My VIN is not currently included in the recall. Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram opened Case #94164354 and advised me to submit this so my VIN can be added. The part is available for inspection. My car is not drivable at this time due to the safety issue.
Side impact and full 6 rollovers, with damage to front. During an accident on 6/13/25. I took pictures if you need them
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that upon attempting to alert a gateman using the horn, the horn failed to function. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the clock spring. The contact was informed that the clock spring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V288000 (Air Bags), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 106,000.

Horn stopped working. Steering wheel controls stopped working. Airbag clockspring bad. Several lights on, on dash. Several dealerships claim even though there is a recall, my Jeep is not covered.
I had someone cut me off on the highway, I went to honk my horn & it didn't work. I then also noticed that my steering wheel control buttons did not work, or light up either. Upon investigation I found out that those are all symptoms of the clockspring not working properly & needing replaced.
There is a current recall for the RHD version of my Jeep for the clockspring. The bad clockspring causes many issues including air bag deployment issues. This issue does also affect the LHD. I’m currently dealing with it myself.
The contact owns a 2017 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the traction control warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was not skidding at the time. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a failing clock spring. The contact was informed that the clock spring needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.
Mileage: 34,000
The airbag light came on, then went off. This happened for a while, meanwhile, the horn stopped working and the controls in the steering wheel were incapable of anything for the radio. I was informed it was a bad steering clock spring and it needed to be replaced. Part # 5156106AG We searched for a recall, and there is one for the 2016 Jeep Wrangler for a failing steering clock spring, only my car’s vin number didn’t match the recall. It appears the previous owner had an issue with the airbags, that was subsequently repaired before I owned this vehicle. I believe it was repaired incorrectly, or is still faulty, as it is broken once again. The coincidence of this being recalled for the same make and model, but not for my specific vehicle is difficult to comprehend. What automobile has more than one need to repair airbags that were never deployed? I have not gotten it repaired yet because the dealer is charging greater than $900 for just the part. I found it online for less than $200.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speeds, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the dealer retrieved DTC: B1B06 (faulty air bag located in the steering wheel). The contact was informed that the air bag in the steering wheel needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 71,368.

At 70000 miles our vehicle has an airbag warning light illuminated on the dashboard. After diagnostics it was determined that a OBD / DTC code was present : "B1B06 Driver Airbag Squib 2 Circuit Open" Per the manufacturer FCA, this code indicates an issue with the Airbag clockspring, and the driver side airbag may not deploy in case of a crash, hence placing the driver at risk of injury or death. Although FCA issued a safety recall for this issue, it only covers vehicles manufactured before May-2-2016. Our vehicle was manufactured on May-27 yet is suffering from the exact same issue, but not covered by the safety recall as per FCA representatives. "Safety Recall S40 / NHTSA 16V-288 Airbag Clockspring" Attached. This is apparently a known issue on many Jeep Wranglers, not just the ones manufactured between the posted dates, yet FCA does not offer support for vehicle owners whose airbag may not deploy in the case of a crash.
Air bad light is on all the time and the horn does not work.
The contact owned a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, another vehicle driving at high speeds rear-ended the contact's vehicle, causing her vehicle to flip over twice; however, no air bags were deployed. The contact sustained a fractured tibia, fibula, and pelvis that required 6 surgeries with 1 surgery pending medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The vehicle was deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The airbags did not go off when I was struck from the front. Impact was 40 to 50MPH. AAA insurance carrier says its a complete loss with over $31,000 worth or repairs. They are salvaging the Jeep. The Jeep is at my home and available for inspection until AAA insurance takes it away. I was the only one in the Jeep when it was hit. With only the seatbelt to restrain me it severely twisted my body to the left. I have head, neck, back pain with 6 herniated disks. I have dizziness, nausea and loud nonstop ringing in the ears. Airbags have not been inspected by anyone. Only the damages were inspected by the insurance carrier. No warning lights, messages or symptoms prior to the accident.
Engine has failed. Had it inspected by two mechanics and they said the same thing, there are broken internal components possibly due to defective components.
My 2016 jeep wrangler, is having major issues. My seatbelts completely stopped working last week February 3, 2023. I had left the mechanics because I had the back window replaced, and the back hood of my jeep wrangler. When pulling out of their driveway, I realized my seatbelt was very tight, but I still got to hook it. When I got home from my drive one and a half hours away, I went to use my car and the seat belts would not work. Driver side and passenger side seat belts have completely seized. Has my jeep wrangler 2016 had any recalls. My son died December 10, 2019. I have never had any other problems with my jeep wrangler. I believe in jeep and the company who makes them. The body shop told me to get rid of my jeep. I cannot do that and since my son died in my jeep wrangler and drug dealers threw him in the back seat, letting him die after they stuck him with a needle full of fentanyl. Please help I do not want to part with my jeep wrangler. I am sure with the Vin number you will be able to trace anything that has gone on with my Jeep! I could have missed many recalls because my son was very sick, from 2016 until his death 2019. I purchased the car brand new in 2016 in upstate New York. Please tell me how I can get help so my seatbelt will work again and the airbag can be inspected. It must be a recall issue I can’t think of anything else and I need your help. I now live in Port Charlotte, Florida, and I am near my daughter. This jeep wrangler has been very good to us. It saved my son’s life and his girlfriends in that prior accident. Something is very wrong with the seatbelts and possibly the mechanisms attached to the seat, bag, and seatbelts. I’m not sure. But the jeep is a fantastic vehicle and I love it. Please help or call me 518-421-7073. Thank you very much. Lori.
My wife was involved in an injury accident 12/02/2023 due to failure of the ABS Module not activating and the Air bag system not deploying. She was cut off by a hit and run driver. She slammed on the brakes went into an uncontrollable skid lost control on the Highway went off the road tumbled end over end 4 times no air bag deployment. No ABS or Air bag warning lights were on both systems failed.
This Jeep is a right hand drive wrangler. Airbag light, traction control light came on, and my horn quit working. Cruise control quit working, and then my antilock brake system was malfunctioning. I couldn't figure out why. So I went to both the Jeep dealership, and the local autozone where they scanned my Jeep for codes, and it's saying a bad clockspring. They said there is a known recall for 2016 models, but mine isn't included. They said to figure out why this Jeep is not included. . Why is my Jeep not included in the already known recall for the bad clock springs?
Experiencing illumination of the airbag warning lamp. Upon further investigation the technician may found one or more of B1B Diagnostic Trouble Codes. Current "recall" or "extended warranty applies to 2011 to 5/2/2016. My vehicles build date is 6/2016. My question is was the faulty part possible used after 5/2/2016 in Toledo where my vehicle was built. The airbag clock spring seems to have been a issue for awhile. I seen "recalls" all the way back to 2007. I just wanted to figure out my vehicle is being excluded from the "extended warranty" when I am have the same issues as a vehicle built just one month before mine.
My airbag light is on all the time and my horn stopped working.
was in a 4way stop approaching it actually .I was going eastbound the other motorist was going south bound. He made a right turnouts west bound lane but he took it without slowing down for stop sign he didn't stop at all .he drove onto my front bumper side head on at a fast rate ofspeed.his airbags deployed my did not. I had my seat belt on but my airbags did go off.i got jerked around violently my head has not stopped from hurting and been dizzy and nauseous lately
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the air bags, seat belts, and ABS warning lights remained illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V288000 (Air Bags). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000.
Mileage: 130,000
I ran into a truck that stopped in the middle of the road, The impact was hard. My airbags didnt deploy. My chest is hurting
Air bag light on saying it needs a clock spring I was just driving and light came on
My 2016 Jeep Wrangler with 53,000 miles on had the airbag light come on and when I went to have it checked it was due to a Occupant restraint control module malfunction. I was told this might not allow the airbags to deploy and that it could even deploy spontaneously. I have seem all kinds of recalls across the years for OCR related items(especially from FCA/Chrysler) https://www.automotiveworld.com/news-releases/chrysler-statement-occupant-restraint-control-orc-module/ You can inspect if you would like. Dealer noted the ORC was malfunctioning.
The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer and diagnosed with needing the clock spring replaced however, the vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V288000 (Air Bags) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.
Mileage: 69,000
I was in a high speed impact collision rear ended at full speed and thrown into vehicle in front of me, me and my husband both suffered facial trauma as airbags did not deploy and both front seats twisted ans broke backwards in backseat where my 2 minor children were located.
The clock spring has gone out, 15 and older was issued a recall, my 2016 (built 2015) is not included and denied buy jeep. My airbag light has been on about 20,000 miles now.
AIRBAG CLOCKSPRING HAS BEEN RECALLED PREVIOUSLY ON THIS VEHICLE AND WAS REPLACED , BUT SAME ISSUE HAS OCCURED AGAIN, WITH AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ON AND NO HORN OR STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS. VEHICLE IS ONLY A 2016 AND SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS REOCCURING ISSUE.
AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON CAUSING MY AIR BAGS TO NOT DEPLOY IF I DO GET IN AN ACCIDENT.

RECALL # S40, NHTSA 16V-288 NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED!!! MY CLOCKSPIRING ASSEMBLY IS BAD IN MY VEHICLE, AND MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IF I GET IN AN ACCIDENT THE AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. THERE IS A RECALL OUT FOR CERTAIN 2016 RHD VEHICLES FOR THE CLOCK SPRING ASSEMBLY. CERTAIN VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 2011 AND MAY OF 2016 FALL INTO THE RECALL. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED DURING THAT TIME, HOWEVER FOR SOME REASON MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL-WHY? THE SAME CLOCK SPRING THAT WAS RECALLED IN CERTAIN VIN NUMBERS HAS GONE BAD IN MY VEHICLE ALSO-WHICH IS A RIGHT HAND DRIVE. SPEAKING WITH CHRYSTLER DIRECTLY ABOUT THIS THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED! THIS IS NOT OK! IT IS AN ISSUE EFFECTING AIR BAD DEPLOYMENT! I AM A RURAL MAIL CARRIER-AND I AM RISKING MY LIFE EVERY DAY. IF A VEHICLE REAR ENDS ME OR HITS ME-MY AIR BAD WILL NOT DEPLOY AND THATS MY LIFE! FOR CHRYSTLER TO KNOW ABOUT THIS ISSUE IN VEHICLES AND NOT TAKE CARE OF IT IN MINE IS NOT OK! AND I EXPECT SOMETHING TO BE DONE!
CLOCKSPRING IS CAUSING THE AIR BAG LIGHT TO STAY ILLUMINATED. CLOCKSPRING CONTROLS TURN SIGNAL, FLASHERS, DEPLOYMENT OF AIR BAGS, ETC. IF I HAVE AN ACCIDENT THE AIR BAGS MAY NOT EVEN DEPLOY. THAT IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE TO ME AND SHOULD BE FOR ALL DRIVERS.

WHILE SITTING STILL I STARTED MY JEEP AND ON MY INSTRUMENT PANEL THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON, THE FIRST FEW HOURS IT WOULD COME ON AND GO OFF INTERMITTENTLY, NOW IT'S ON ALL OF THE TIME. WHEN I TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP THEY SAID IT WAS THE CLOCK SPRING WHICH COSTS $410 FOR THE PART ALONE AND INFORMED ME THAT THEY ARE ON BACK ORDER WHICH TELLS ME THERE MUST BE A LOT OF JEEPS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. WHEN I ASKED THEM IF THAT MEANT MY AIRBAG MAY DEPLOY AT ANY TIME SHE SAID NO QUITE THE OPPOSITE IT MEANT IT WOULD NOT DEPLOY AT ALL. I AM A MAIL CARRIER AND HAVE SPOKEN TO OTHER 2016 RHD JEEP OWNERS AND THEY HAD RECALLS TO REPAIR THEIRS BUT MINE DIDN'T MAKE THE RECALL LIST. MY JEEP IS MY LIVELIHOOD, NOW I HAVE TO WORRY THAT IF I'M INVOLVED IN A COLLISION I'M AT A MUCH HIGHER RISK FOR INJURY OR FATALITY. *TR

I HAD RECENTLY REPLACED THE AIRBAG DUE TO A RECALL FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THIS ACCIDENT RESULTED IN MY VEHICLE BEING TOTALED. FURTHERMORE I RECEIVED SEVERAL INJURIES INCLUDING A CONCUSSION AND WHIPLASH. THE AIRBAG DID DEPLOY ON THE KIA THAT HIT ME.

RECEIVED NOTICE FROM JEEP THAT A RECALL WAS IN EFFECT FOR THE AIRBAG SENSOR SWITCH LOCATED SOMEWHERE WITHIN THE FRONT BUMPER.. THE SWITCH MAYBE DISCONNECTED AT TIME OF IMPACT AND NOT MESSAGE THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY... THE HARD ROCK ADDITION JEEP HAS AN ACCESS PORT LOCATED WITHIN THE FRONT BUMPER SPECIFICALLY FOR THE PURPOSE OF INSTALLING A WINCH/WINCH PLATE... DEALERSHIP ADVISED IT WOULD COST ADDITIONAL 100 DOLLARS TO REPAIR THE RECALL AS THE WINCH WOULD HAVE TO BE REMOVED PARTIALLY OR IN TOTAL... CONTACTED CUSTOMER SERVICE / CASE MANAGEMENT AT JEEP CORP AND WAS ADVISED IT WOULD NOT COVER THE COST TO REMOVE THE WINCH THAT IT WAS MORE OR LESS BETWEEN THE DEALERSHIP AND ME.. MY THOUGHTS ARE THAT THE BUMPER WAS DESIGNED BY JEEP TO INSTALL A WINCH INSIDE THE BUMPER WITH TOP AND FRONT REMOVABLE PLATES AND THAT THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE REGARDLESS....

TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE WITH JEEP (833-585-0144) TO GET MY AIRBAG REPLACED ON NUMEROUS TIMES. THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE. THEY HAVE CALLED DEALERS AND I AM ON A WAITING LIST AT A JEEP DEALER FOR OVER TWO MONTHS. I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE ME A RENTAL CAR UNTIL PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AS THIS IS A UNSAFE VEHICLE TO DRIVE.
CLOCK SPRING NEEDS REPLACING.
TAKATA RECALL. AIRBAG LIGHT RECENTLY TURNED ON. AFTER USING A DIAGNOSTIC TOOL TO DECODE THE PROBLEM I'M GIVEN CODE B1B02. THIS WAS AN OPEN RECALL ON HALF A MILLION OLDER JEEP WRANGLERS. TAKATA RECALL. THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT INDICATED A FAULT WITH A CHIME , JUNE 2019. THE DRIVER AIRBAG CLOCKSPRING RECALL WAS PERFORMED IN OCTOBER 2016 SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE WAS A TWO YEAR WARRANTY, WHICH HAS EXPIRED.THE DEALERSHIP TELLS ME THE REPAIR COST IS APPROXIMATELY $1200.00. MY COMPLAINT IS THE REPLACEMENT PARTS USED IN THE RECALL ARE GIVING WARNING INDICATORS LIKE THE ORIGINAL AIRBAG PARTS. I USE THE JEEP FOR MAIL DELIVERY ON DIRT ROADS THAT ARE EXTREMELY DUSTY MOST OF THE YEAR. THIS IS THE MAIN REASON FOR THE ORIGINAL AIRBAG RECALL. "THE AIRBAG CLOCKSPRING MAY INGEST DUST IF THE VEHICLE IS SUBJECTED TO DUSTY ENVIRONMENTS, COMPROMISE AIRBAG CIRCUITS, CAUSE ILLUMINATION OF THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT". I FEEL THE ORIGINAL PROBLEM STILL EXISTS AND THE RECALL REPLACEMENT PARTS HAVE FAILED. I THINK THIS IS A RECALL CONCERN. I HAVE CONTACTED FIAT CHRYSLER AUTOMOBILE GROUP RECALL ASSISTANCE CENTER , THEY DID NOT HELP. I I AM PAYING FOR THE REPAIR. BUT I FEEL LIKE THE SAFELY PROBLEM STILL EXISTS, AND WHEN DUST COVERS THIS PART IT WILL MALFUNCTION.

I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE AND THE COURTESY CALLS HOWEVER I'VE HAD MY APPT CANCELLED BY THE DEALER BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS. THIS IS GOING ON FOR 3 MONTHS. THE DEALERS NEAR ME DO NOT HAVE THESE PARTS AND HAVE PLACED US ON A 'LIST'. IN THE MEAN TIME WE NEED TO DRIVE WITH A VEHICLE THAT CAN CAUSE US INJURY OR DEATH BECAUSE CHRYSLER CANNOT MAKE THESE PARTS QUICK ENOUGH OR SEND ENOUGH TO COVER THE AMOUNT OF VEHICLES WITH THE PROBLEM.

FIRST PROBLEM, THEY SAY THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY PARTS TO EFFECT A REPAIR ON ANY OF THE EFFECTED VEHICLES . THAT HAS BEEN OVER ONE YEAR. NOW THAT YOU ARE SENDING OUT THE NOTICES FOR A YEAR, MY WIFE IS CONCERNED THAT IF SHE WERE TO BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, THE AIR BAGS MAY NOT DEPLOY AS DESIGNED. THERE HAS TO BE SOME KIND OF TIME FRAME FOR THE MANUFACTURER TO MAKE NEEDED REPAIRS OR WHAT GOOD IS YOUR DEPARTMENT?

ON JANUARY 30, 2017 ANOTHER VEHICLE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME AND STOPPED. I HIT THAT VEHICLE WITH MY 2016 JEEP WRANGLER AT ABOUT 30-35MPH. THE IMPACT TOTALED BOTH VEHICLES. MY JEEP'S FRAME WAS BUCKLED AND TWISTED ALL OF THE WAY TO THE REAR BUMPER. THE REAR BODY MOUNT BOLT WERE EVEN BENT. THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELTS DIDN'T PRETENSION. I HIT THE DASH WITH BOTH KNEES AND GOT ABDOMINAL MUSCLE INJURIES AS WELL AS SEVERE WHIPLASH. I AM STILL UNDER A DOCTOR'S CARE FOR MY INJURIES INCLUDING A PINCHED NERVE BETWEEN C5-C6. FCA OPENED AN INVESTIGATION AND SENT ME A LETTER STATING THAT "THE RATE OF DECELERATION NECESSARY TO ACTIVATE THE AIR BAG AND AIR BAG SYSTEM WAS NOT PRESENT DURING THIS ACCIDENT". THE IMPACT BUCKLED MY FRAME AND TOTALED A 5 MONTH OLD VEHICLE, BUT FCA WANTS ME TO BELIEVE THAT IT WASN'T SEVERE ENOUGH FOR THE AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. FCA IS EITHER BEING DECEPTIVE OR THEIR VEHICLES ARE SIMPLY UNSAFE. EITHER WAY, DUE TO THEIR DECEPTIVE ACTIONS, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW HOW MANY ACCIDENTS ARE TRULY RELATED TO THIS VEHICLE DEFECT. I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE RECALL (S76) THE WEEK AFTER MY ACCIDENT WHEN I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH FCA. MY VEHICLE WAS IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR ITS FIRST OIL CHANGE TWO WEEKS AFTER THIS RECALL WAS ISSUED, BUT IT WASN'T REPAIRED AND I WASN'T INFORMED OF A RECALL. I RECEIVED MY RECALL NOTICE TODAY, 74 DAYS AFTER MY ACCIDENT. I HAVE THE POLICE REPORT, PICTURES OF THE JEEP AND THE FRAME, THE INSURANCE ADJUSTER'S CELL PHONE NUMBER AS WELL AS ALL CORRESPONDENCE WITH FCA, SHOULD YOU WANT IT...UPDATED 05/09/17 *BF UPDATED 9/27/18*JB

CURRENTLY A RECALL FOR A SENSOR OF THE AIRBAGS. I INSTALLED MOPAR LED HEADLIGHTS. THEY SAY THE HEADLIGHTS GET DESTROYED DURING THE FIX AND THEY PUT STOCK HEADLIGHTS BACK IN, NOT WHAT I CURRENTLY HAVE. THEY ARE FACTORY MADE MOPAR HEADLIGHTS THAT COST APPROX $950.00. I DON'T WANT TO GET THIS RECALL DONE BECAUSE I DON'T THINK I SHOULD LOSE OUT ON THAT MUCH MONEY. CHRYSLER DESIGNED THESE HEADLIGHTS SO THAT CAN ONLY BE PUT IN ONCE. THEY SHOULD SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES OF THAT DESIGN BY REPLACING THEM FOR A SAFETY RECALL, NOT HAVE ME LOSE OUT ON THE MONEY I SPENT MAKING MY VEHICLE SAFER.

TOOK OUR JEEP IN TO AUTONATION CHRYSLER JEEP ARAPAHOE IN CENTENNIAL, CO AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T PERFORM THE RECALL WORK WITHOUT REMOVING THE WENCH ON THE FRONT OF OUR JEEP. THEY SAID WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY 5 HOURS OF TECH TIME TO REMOVE AND RE-INSTALL THE WENCH IN ORDER FOR THEM TO PERFORM THE RECALL WORK. DIDN'T TELL US WHEN WE BROUGHT IT IN, 9 HOURS LATER WHEN I CALLED TO CHECK ON IT THEY SAID THIS. THE RECALL LETTER STATES THAT IF THE DEALER FAILS OR IS UNABLE TO REMEDY THIS DEFECT WITHOUT CHARGE AND WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME WE WERE TO FILE A COMPLAINT. *TR
OUR JEEP HAS A RECALL FOR A SENSOR WIRE IN THE FRONT AREA OF THE VEHICLE. I DROPPED THE JEEP AT THE DEALERSHIP (MALL OF GEORGIA CHRYSLER JEEP IN BUFORD GA) AND RECEIVED A SHUTTLE RIDE HOME. I WAS CALLED A FEW HOURS LATER BY MY ADVISOR [XXX] AND TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO REMOVE THE WINCH, WINCH PLATE, LIGHT BAR, AND LIGHTS ON THE FRONT BUMPER. THE TECH NEEDS TO REMOVE GRILL AND CANNOT WITH THIS EQUIPMENT IN THE WAY. THEY OFFERED TO REMOVE ALL THE EQUIPMENT FOR ME FOR $250. I TOLD THE ADVISOR ([XXX]) THAT THE LETTER RECEIVED IN THE MAIL IS ADAMANT THAT THIS IS TO BE DONE AT NO COST TO THE OWNER. HE TOLD ME THAT IT DID NOT INCLUDE CUSTOM EQUIPMENT. I CALLED FCA, AS MY LETTER EXPLAINED I SHOULD DO IF THE DEALER WAS NOT RESOLVING MY ISSUE. I EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AS I HAVE ABOVE. THE FCA AGENT (I DO NOT HAVE HER NAME, BUT GAVE THEM MY INFO) FIRST INDICATED TO ME THAT THERE SHOULD NOT BE ANY CHARGES FOR RECALL REPAIRS, SO SHE CALLED THE DEALER, TALKED TO [XXX], AND CAME BACK TO MY LINE TELLING ME EXACTLY WHAT [XXX] HAD TOLD ME THAT A CHARGE WOULD BE EXPECTED TO REMOVE THE CUSTOM EQUIPMENT SO THEY CAN REPAIR THIS VEHICLE. SHOULD THERE EVER BE A REASON FOR CHARGING A CUSTOMER FOR A RECALL REPAIR, IN A SAFETY RECALL SITUATION SUCH AS THIS? *TR

OUR 2 WEEK OLD 2016 JEEP WRANGLER WILLYS WAS IN A SOLO COLLISION IN JULY 2016. MY PARTNER HIT WATER, HYDROPLANED, AND THEN HIT A GUARDRAIL WITH THE FRONT END AT 50+ MPH ON A 4 LANE HIGHWAY. SHE WENT AIRBORNE, FLIPPED SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS EJECTED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE SEATS CAME OUT AND ROLL BARS FAILED, BUT THE AIRBAGS ALSO NEVER WENT OFF DESPITE THE INITIAL IMPACT. WE DO NOT KNOW IF SHE WAS WEARING HER SEATBELT. SHE SUFFERED A TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY, COLLAPSED LUNG, SHATTERED PELVIS, BROKEN BACK, BROKEN HIP, BROKEN EYE SOCKET, COMPOUND FRACTURE OF HER ANKLE, BROKEN TAILBONE, MULTIPLE DEEP LACERATIONS AND WAS IN ICU FOR WEEKS.
