The vehicle was running fine and then the cluster went out. It came back for a couple hours and now it’s been out for a couple weeks. It still lights up but does not show any writing. I know this is part of a recall but like the last time something happened to my jeep with the gas( huge safety violation) that costed $1400 to fix- Jeep obviously doesn’t care about safety. I’m over this Jeep if they don’t want to include the vehicle in the recall twice now.

My digital dashboard display is, shorting out. Started acting up on December 25th, 2025.

Dec 27, 2025

The entire instrument cluster failed on my 2020 Jeep Wrangler and had to be completely replaced at the dealer. One day, when starting the vehicle, the entire cluster was off with no advanced warnings, no speedometer, no fuel gauge, no warning lights, no odometer, and no information display of any kind. The vehicle would still operate, but all gauges and dashboard functions were non-functional. To make matters worse, this occurred as we were leaving the hospital with our [XXX] child during a snowstorm. Our child had just been admitted for three days to the PICU for RSV-related issues. The safety of our infant was directly put at risk due to the complete loss of all dashboard and warning information while driving in hazardous conditions. We took the vehicle to the Plainfield, Indiana Jeep dealership and were informed that the entire instrument cluster needed to be replaced. We were charged $1,526 for this repair. Now, approximately one year later, the replacement instrument cluster is exhibiting similar issues. While driving, the cluster will randomly flicker or blink, indicating the underlying electrical or instrument-panel defect was not fully resolved. During these events, visibility of speed, warnings, and vehicle status is temporarily lost. This remains an ongoing safety concern. Given that NHTSA has opened an investigation into Jeep instrument-cluster failures, I believe this issue represents a systemic defect rather than an isolated incident and warrants further review. My dash with my dash lights, speed, warning lights, odometer, gas tank and oil temp went out in my jeep. It flicked off with red lines. Come on randomly but stays off. Took to jeep told me it was the jeep instrument cluster. No recalls on my specific jeep but [XXX] shows there is a recall of this part. Dec 20, 2025

Instrument cluster first started to appear as if it had a glitch by the colors being slightly different then as the months progressed the dash cluster would slowly start to fade in and out, turning off and on, until one day when driving it just turned completely off and has not came on since, sometimes when i turn the car on it will want to turn back on but will fade back into a brightly lit screen with no apparent function appearing on the screen. Available to be inspected upon request Problem has been identified by local Jeep dealer. I am stationed in Belgium There were no warning lamps or messages or anything to indicate a system failure. My safety was put at risk as the dash cluster is what helps me monitor my speed, heat temperature on my engine, gas levels as well as any other maintenance issues or messages my car may have

Dec 18, 2025

Instrument panel cluster went blank. Driver has no access to safety information, vehicle instruments or warning notifications. Dealership visualized blank screen and agreed. Vehicle falls into same Recall category of NHTSA 24V-652, but FCA states this VIN has not specifically been recalled. No symptoms prior to blank screen, but unidentified warning noise has activated multiple times with driver unable to identify what warning is being alerted. Dealership states no codes of engine malfunction are present.

Dec 17, 2025

The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH, the contact noticed that the instrument panel was glitching and flickering before displaying a blank screen. A dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 74,000.

Instrument Cluster Panel stoppped working about a week ago. The Cluster between the MPH Guage and Rpm Guage went blank.

Dec 12, 2025

Digital gauge cluster goes completely blank. Will come back on intermittently and then goes blank again for extended periods of time.

Dec 9, 2025

My 2020 jeep wrangler just had its center instrument cluster go dark. This seems to be a known issue, and I believe there is a recall for 2024 models. The recall needs to be expanded as far back as the issue is being reported. This is dangerous situation with not being able to see the gas gauge, milage and additional critical information. To make matters even more unmanageable because the jeep needs to have the exact mileage known before replacing the instrument cluster the recommendation is to drop your car off at the dealer and not drive it until the part is replaced. Because this is such a large issue the current lead-time is 5 months to get a replacement part in. No one should be expected to leave their jeep at a dealership for 5 months. Our jeep dealer actually recommended getting an after-market replacement. I am reporting this to add my voice to many others who have experienced this same issue. I am also sure this is probably way under reported. Anything you can do to extend this recall back to at least 2020 would be greatly appreciated

Dec 7, 2025

My center dash cluster shorted out and went black and no longer shows speed, fuel and warning lights. Known recall for center dash cluster, but not my vin. Dealership has diagnosed the problem and repairing at my expense.

Dec 4, 2025

The instrument dash panel went blank while driving.

Dec 3, 2025

Driver side dashboard experienced an instrument cluster failure causing the center dashboard information to go completely blank so that the mileage, amount of gas, speed, warning lights, etc. are all no longer visible. There appears to have been a recall for a similar issue for Jeep Wrangler years 2018-2024 but I have been told my VIN is not part of that recall even though it appears to be the same cluster failure issue.

Dec 2, 2025

The contact owns a 2020 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the instrument panel had become inoperable. The dealer and the manufacturer were contacted, and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000 (Electrical System). The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

Nov 24, 2025

I have the same malfunction as described in New Safety Recall Advanced Communication – 30B released on 9/5/2024, but my VIN is not included. The malfunction relates to the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) that becomes blank. As noted in 30B: "[a]n IPC that is not visible to the driver may result in the driver's attention being diverted from the driving task while trying to locate a desired display, which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. The condition described above does not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 571.101, Controls and Displays S5.3 requires vehicles to "illuminate telltales and their identification sufficiently to make them visible to the driver under daylight and nighttime driving conditions." The IPC in the suspect vehicles may not illuminate the required telltales." Can you please add my Jeep VIN to the recall list?

Nov 20, 2025

While driving car, instrument cluster went blank. It does not display important vehicle information like speed.

Nov 18, 2025

Instrument Panel went completely out. Can not tell how much gas is in the jeep, how many miles it has, can’t see any digital details on the instrument panel. Completely black.

I have had 18 visits to 2 Jeep Dealerships for my 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara. I have had my radio replaced 3 times and I'm still waiting (its been months!) for another new radio as the current is still going black, powering off, sometimes it responds & sometimes it doesn't. This is EXTREMELY frustrating for a "new" car not to have a functioning radio. But then recently my IC went totally black. No view of my gas gauge!! Of course, my VIN was NOT included in last year's recall but I was able to get this replaced thankfully via the extended warrantee I purchased. I had to pay a $500 deductible for it to be replaced. Same for the radio. At what point does Jeep or Mopar say....this is a serious electrical problem? Isn't anyone trained to get to root cause? I have pictures and videos of the power surging in my dashboard but sure lets keep replacing radios at the customers EXPENSE!

Oct 27, 2025

Digital dash went out for 6 months and my vehicle was not covered under the recall warranty..Had no fuel gauge or speedometer during that time...Paid $1143.73 to have it repaired...nowy odometer does not match my computer.

Oct 20, 2025

My instrument cluster panel display has suddenly gone black/blank. This looks to be a known recall issue under Recall ID: 24V-652 which includes Select 2018–2024 Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles. Mine is a 2020 Jeep Wrangler. Can my vehicle be added to the recall list? I am at safety risk as I cannot see my gas mileage, warning light indicators, Electronic Throttle Control, Battery Charge Warning, Engine Coolant Temperature, Airbag Warning, Brake System Alerts, Transmission Fault lights, etc. I have scheduled a service appointment to have this looked at the dealership where I purchased my Jeep. I would appreciate any financial assistance as it will be an extreme struggle to pay out of pocket for this to be repaired. My safety and my family's safety is at risk. Please help!

Oct 17, 2025

2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Willys The Instrument cluster panel went out. Black screen. A critical safety issue b/c you cannot see the speedometer, warning lights, or anything on the screen. There is a recall (NHTSA#24V-652) however my VIN # is not included in the recall. Brought the Jeep into mechanic who said this should be covered under Jeep Recall. To date no certified Jeep dealership will repair under recall b/c they are saying VIN # is not included in the recall.

Oct 13, 2025

My front dash was not registering, so I cannot see my speed, gas tank, and all other info on it. When I took it to a mechanic, he had to replace the AGM Auxiliary Battery. It went from the normal square battery to the size and shape of balloon, causing a dangerous situation. The mechanic sent us to the dealership to finish the work as it should be covered under the recall. He also advised us not to drive it on our roadtrip as the INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER needs to be fixed and could cause fires as it’s under recall: RECALL NHTSA #24V-652. We need to get it fixed, but the dealership declined saying my Jeep Wrangler 2020’s VIN number doesn’t show the recall. So, now we are trying to get that recall established for this VIN number as it’s having the SAME ISSUES AS THOSE RECALLED. Now, we are trying to get the recall number to apply to my VIN so we can get the repair done. Frustrating to do a goose chase when a vehicle is having the SAME issue as those with the recall.

The instrument cluster has went completely out. There is a currently open recall for 2018 - 2024 Jeep Wranglers (Recall #24V-652), but my VIN is not included. According to FMVSS No. 571.101 (Controls and Displays), you are required to remedy this situation as it is now a safety and hazard for the driver.

The instrument cluster went out on my 2020 Jeep Wrangler. There is a recall (NHTSA#24V-652) for this issue, however my VIN # is not included in the recall. This is a critical safety issue because the speedometer and warning lights to not work.

Sep 10, 2025

UNKNOWN The display panel on the instrument cluster has went out. There was an open recall for newer models (2022-2024), but my vehicle's year (2020) was not included. After going through multiple forums, and speaking with many dealerships, this has been an on-going issue with multiple Jeep owners.

I see that there are recalls for the center cluster on the dash for jeeps like mine from 2018 through 2022 or 2024 but mine has is not included in that recall however mine is now out According to our mechanic I have a black screen cannot see if I have gas or if my vehicle is overheating, cannot see any of the warning signals. Instrument cluster failed. Jeep required me to send them the entire cluster (Vehicle Dash) in order for us to order new part. Submitting the cluster means I do not have access to the manual gages (speed, warning lights, and fuel gage). You also cannot hear your blinker signal or know if your high beams are on or off. You do not know how much gas in your tank and can run out at any given point (I have pictures of police helping as this happen to me; it is dangerous). There is an open file i have with jeep. They are aware of the issue. I told the dealership in Sept of 2024 it was flickering and they said it wasn't doing it when they had it serviced so there was nothing they could do. I took it in to another mechanic in May of 2025 once it was failed completely. Jeep informed my mechanic in May the part would be in. Then they emailed me (once i filed a compliant with their customer service )the part would be in by End of Aug. Now they are saying the End of September (subject to change). I requested a loaner vehicle in order to keep my family safe and they denied my request. The car was bought brand new and cannot be inspected until the dash is replaced. Jeep has old dash and has not provided me with the replacement part (I already paid for). It is dangerous. The reason we are told the part is not available is because many 2020 jeeps are having same issue.

Aug 28, 2025

I woke up one morning about 2 months ago, and the dash cluster was not working and has not worked since. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? My safety and the safety of others are put at risk because I am unable to see critical information while driving, such as my speed, fuel level, and any potential engine warning lights. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the problem was confirmed by two different independent mechanics, both of whom stated that I need a new cluster. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No, the vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or any other party besides the two mechanics. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, there were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms before the cluster failed. The failure occurred suddenly.

Aug 25, 2025

My Display Cluster went blank all of a sudden while on a trip with no prior notice and I was unable to see any safety information for my vehicle, how much gas I have left, odometer readings or other important information which are needed to safely drive. I ran out of gas and was unable to get to the side of the road and all most got into an accident. There is a current safety recall for this problem (NHTSA ID Number: 24V652000 Instrument Panel Failure/FMVSS 101) for the JEEP WRANGLER2018-2024 issued on September 5, 2024 for the same problem I am experiencing with my vehicle The problem is for some reason My Vin number is not being included in the recall even though the Vehicle year model & problem matches the recall and the dealership/manufacturer are not honoring the repair needed.

Aug 19, 2025

The Instrument Cluster Panel has completely failed. The vehicle currently does not have odometer, tachometer, speedometer, fuel gauge, and other vital engine metrics displayed. Stellantis issued a recall due to poor design of the failed component for a small subset of affected vehicles, but does not include the majority of the vehicle population. Furthermore, the failed component is currently on a national shortage, making it impossible to repair. This is a major safety concern and needs to be investigated.

Aug 18, 2025

Component or System That Failed: The instrument cluster on my 2020 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon failed on February 25, 2025. The dealership confirmed the part was defective and removed it from the vehicle. The failed component is not currently installed, but the dealership retained documentation of the diagnosis and can confirm the failure. Safety Risk: The failure of the instrument cluster renders the vehicle completely inoperable. Without this component, the driver cannot monitor critical safety information such as vehicle speed, warning indicators, or fuel level. Additionally, the extended parts backorder means the vehicle has been disabled for months, leaving me without safe transportation. If this type of failure were to occur while driving, it could result in a sudden loss of critical safety data and increase the risk of an accident. Problem Confirmation: Yes, the problem has been confirmed by the authorized Jeep dealership where the vehicle has remained since February 25, 2025. They diagnosed the instrument cluster as the root cause of the failure. Inspection by Manufacturer or Others: The vehicle was inspected and diagnosed by the Jeep dealership. Jeep/Stellantis Customer Care has also been notified and opened Case #93386471, but has not provided a resolution. No inspection by police, insurance, or other third parties has occurred. Warning Lamps, Messages, or Symptoms Prior to Failure: There were no warning lamps, error codes, or prior symptoms before the cluster failed. The failure was sudden, and the instrument cluster stopped functioning entirely on February 25, 2025.

Aug 6, 2025

The instrument panel cluster stopped working suddenly. It is a 2020 Jeep Wrangler with 72k miles. I know there is a recall NHTSA recall #24V652000 for some Jeep Wranglers 2018 - 2024 for the same issue. Mine needs to be included. I cannot tell how much gas I have, what speed I am going, or warning lamp information. There were no symptoms - it just stopped working while I was driving. The vehicle has been inspected by two vehicle repair/inspection stations and it is not a fuse or the alternator / battery. Therefore - it is the instrument panel cluster (IPC).

Jul 16, 2025

IP Cluster failure, currently at dealership for repair. No warning lights, dash just went dark while driving.

Jul 2, 2025

I was pulling into work when my dash lit up with all warning lights, I was unable to shut my vehicle off. I had to disconnect the battery to do so. After a couple hours of being disconnected, it operated normal. Few hours later, went to leave a store and it lit up again, this time my steering was nonfunctional. The common issue was the can buss connector. For several years this has been an issue, apparently a TSB was placed but I am unable to find it. This should be a national recall. This part controls literally every electrical component of this vehicle. It's I intermittent and unknown to when it will malfunction. This creates a huge hazard to driving as when it does malfunction, you're unable to steer, your vehicle can shut off, it's not safe at all. Then come to find that the part isn't even covered as a replacement on the TSB. There is no reason this part should not be recalled, how does a small plastic block become defective other than poor craftsmanship? When the vehicle can't communicate to the other parts (engine, transmission, steering, fuel system, etc) that is a huge problem and is not worth the risk of death because someone can no longer drive or steer when going 65 mph.

Jun 19, 2025

Jeep purchased in May of 2023. A few months later the Instrument Panel Cluster would go dark while driving for no reason at all. Taken to local trusted dealership to diagnose, found that the IPC needed to be replaced. Replacement performed & all costs associated were paid for by me, the vehicle owner ($748.90 in total). This issue has already been recalled for other 2020 Jeep Wranglers, as detailed in RCONL-24V652-2819. I am requesting that my Jeep be included as well.

Jun 15, 2025

The digital instrument cluster (Electronic Vehicle Information Center – EVIC) on my 2020 Jeep Wrangler has failed, and no longer displays critical vehicle information. This includes fuel level, engine and oil temperature, mileage, tire pressure, and other key dashboard data. This failure creates an unsafe driving condition due to the inability to monitor vehicle speed, engine status, or fuel availability. I brought the vehicle to the dealer, and they confirmed the cluster is nonfunctional, but also stated that my VIN is not covered under the existing recall. After extensive research, I discovered hundreds of reports from other Wrangler owners experiencing the same failure in 2018–2021 models, yet Jeep has only issued limited recall coverage, seemingly based on build date rather than known defective components. To make matters worse, no replacement parts are available, either through the dealership or third-party suppliers. I am now left without a fully functioning vehicle and no support or resolution from Jeep or its dealers. This is a widespread and well-documented issue that affects driver safety and should be subject to expanded recall or mandated remedy. I urge NHTSA to investigate why so many similar failures are not covered under existing recalls.

May 29, 2025

Gauge cluster display screen failed and is blank. This screen provides critical vehicle information such as gas level, speed, vehicle error notifications, etc. It is unsafe to drive without being able to see this important vehicle information. This a common failure issue on these models.

May 28, 2025

The vehicle will randomly show service shifter then it will loose power steering, gears won’t change. It happened while driving on a winding road. Scary. The instrument cluster will show random erratic readings like mileage will be off. Temperature goes to zero fuel gauge misread vehicle get stuck into a higher gear and won’t downshift doing research online I found a recall bulletin for 24V652000 and in that bulletin, it describes what my vehicle does, but my vehicle is not considered part of the recall bulletin. This vehicle is dangerous to drive on the road with the situation that can happen at any time.

May 22, 2025

My vehicle had a rough idling and then flashed an autostart symbol and stated on the dashboard that my autodash has been disabled. Later that day I drove my vehicle again, then the dashboard lit up like a christmas tree and every light was on and my car went limp. I pulled over on the side of the road and let my car stay off thinking it would help. Waited some time and tried to turn it on and it wouldnt turn back on until the 5th attempt. took my vehicle to jeep a few days later where they diagnosed it saying it needs a new ABS control module. However, the control module is on back order with no ETA in sight. There are multiple other people in my exact situation waiting 6+ months for their ABS control module. My car is undriveable as it has no traction control, will go limp, and no ABS system. I have been without my car for a month and they have not provided a loaner. To my research this has been an issue since september of 2023 and has yet to be a recall.

The instrument panel cluster failed, losing access to gas level, warning indicators, vehicle safety feature notifications, and speedometer. The failed instrument panel cluster was confirmed by the local Jeep dealership's service department and they informed me of the recall from September/October 2024. The part has been backordered for more than one month due to recall repairs, but Jeep has stated that it is not covered under the recall.

Mar 18, 2025

The situation detailed in document ZD8 is currently impacting my Jeep, as well as an overwhelming number of other Jeeps across the country. It is quite distressing to learn that the part I urgently need—the coolant bottle reservoir—is entirely on backorder. To make matters worse, this particular component is no longer being manufactured. What raises alarms for me is how this scenario can be regarded as acceptable at all. It prompts serious questions regarding the nature of the recall, particularly since it has been classified as voluntary. This classification appears to be quite misleading, given that the issue extends beyond just specific Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs). In reality, the problem has a much broader reach than merely the listed VINs, impacting a wider array of vehicles than is currently being recognized. It is troubling that so many Jeep owners are left without this essential part for their vehicles, beckoning a broader reflection on the accountability of manufacturers when faced with such significant issues. The extensive impact of this situation raises urgent calls for clarity, responsibility, and action to address the needs of affected consumers. This situation not only undermines trust but also highlights the pressing need for the automotive industry to prioritize consumer safety and welfare.

The vehicle matches the description for a recall that has already been issued, but this VIN was not included in the recall. The current recall should be expanded to include this VIN #.

Loss of power. Vehicle went into limp mode. Codes P00AF, P24B1 and P1DB1. Vehicle only has 28,500 miles and is having constant electrical issues.

Dec 12, 2024

My information cluster screen is blank.

Dec 4, 2024

Steering wheel gets very hot and the steering wheel and steering column start to smoke. Burning smell is toxic. This is a safety issue that needs to be repaired by Jeep.

Dec 2, 2024

I have a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. The instrument cluster on my Jeep had been flashing for awhile back in 2022 and finally went completely black in December 2022. I could not see my digital speed, gas, etc. I finally took it to the dealership in July of 2023 after saving money for the repair (since it was no longer under warranty) and it ended up being the instrument cluster that went bad. $1k + repair later and here we are with other Jeeps having the instrument cluster recalled when mine fell within the criteria but I have not received anything about a refund for the recall that we had to pay for.

Nov 8, 2024

My Jeep wrangler required the instrument panel to be replaced due to failure. The entire console lighting went dark while I was driving. I had not information on my speed and it made me take my eyes off the road when I tried to figure out what happened I did not have an accident but my fear Jeep is not issuing a recall to all the vehicles affected. Notified them of the safety concern by in January of 2022. My vehicle was not issued in the recall and they would not cover the repair even though it was the instrument panel failure on my repair bill. I was unable to look at the mph. Submitted complaint to Jeep of instrument panel failure.

Oct 16, 2024

The instrument panel on this vehicle has failed and gone blank. Same issue as noted in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V652000

Oct 14, 2024

I took my vehicle to a Jeep dealer because the instrument panel on my dashboard went completely dark. The technician advised that I would need a new Instrument ClusterPanel, part #68442288AE. He also advised that there is a safety recall on this part however my VIN did not fall into the recall range although my vehicle DID fall into the year, model and make of the recall. I am making this complaint because I would like my vehicle to be covered by this recall since I have encountered the very situation in the recall and my vehicle matches the year, make and model covered in the recall.

Oct 11, 2024

Instrument panel intermittently goes blank while driving. This has happened more than once. This is a known issue that has triggered a recall, but while I continue to check my vin for recalls, my vehicle is still not showing mine as being part of this recall.

Oct 9, 2024

There is a current recall out for the dash panel failures. I have issues with my dash panel that would be described as a failure that I believe should fall under the recall for this issue, my make and model matches however my specific VIN # does not. I'm hoping to get that changed so I May be ble to get my dash panel fixed under the recall. The panel throws incorrect warnings and glitches to where you cannot see what's shown on the screen, as if it is completely dim all the time. The photo provided is when the dash first started glitching in april, you can see the colors are changed and PRN is dimmed. Now everything is completely gone

Sep 25, 2024

In August the entire instrument cluster on my vehicle suddenly quit working while driving. Just prior to this the check seat belt warning came on though my seatbelt was engaged. I pulled over, released then re-engaged the seatbelt , turned the engine off and restarted it and began driving when the entire instrument cluster lost illumination and NONE of the gauges were working, no speedometer, engine monitoring, gas gauge etc. But the engine was running, lights ,turn signals, windshield wipers were all working. After my son and I tried unsuccessfully to find the problem we contacted our Jeep dealership, but couldn’t get an appointment until mid September to have it checked. They found that it was an internal problem and the unit needs to be replaced. However the parts are unavailable at this time from their supplier. Apparently this has been a problem with other owners and the supplier said that Jeep is changing the cluster unit and the new ones won’t be available to order until November 20th. I believe this is a safety issue since the driver is unable to monitor issues using the instrument cluster and it occurred suddenly and obviously has happened to other owners and therefore a recall should be issued and the problem fixed.

Unknown what started the issue. While driving it, service electronic control dash light went on. The vehicle started losing power. We were able to get to the highway shoulder. Other dash lights were going on as we were moving over. Immediately after putting it in park and turning the vehicle off, smoke started billowing out from the hood. The vehicle engine was on fire and it was completely destroyed. The only on-going issue we had with it was auto start/stop with both auxiliary and main battery having to be replaced twice over the course of 4 years. There was an active recall for fuel pump component and we were on a waiting list for parts from the dealer since Sept 2023 and we were still waiting.

The ABS module failed and caused an issue while in the middle of driving it. When the ABS module failed, I lost power steering and other critical functions. When I lost functionality, errors that I saw on the dash included: “service breaks, service ABS, service shifter” etc. Luckily it didn’t cause any accidents. The vehicle is currently at the dealer service department. It has been there for 3 1/2 months waiting on an ABS module that is on back order. The dealer just advised me today that it could be another 3 months. It’s already been on order for the last 2 months.

Randomly the check engine light will appear and the dash will display multiple messages about service needed for traction control, stability control, auto start stop disabled, service cruise control etc. Then while driving you will lose power steering and this almost caused my daughter to wreck while trying to finish a turn. Additionally when the messages appear the vehicle will not have the ability to shift so you can not reverse and once it shut off in the middle of the highway blocking traffic and almost caused multiple accidents. The dealership has replaced the battery sensor and said it was fixed. I was told to replace the primary and secondary battery to ensure it was not a battery problem and I did, however the issue still remains. Looked online for others with this issue and there are many with the exact problem. The Jeep will report the transmission temperature and oil temperature incorrectly with the gauge maxed out even if it has sat overnight. Additionally it also says to service the transmission.

I was driving home with my 3 kids in the car. Age 13,10,2 We were almost home and my daughter shouted from the back seat… “ there’s a fire .. there’s a fire” my self and my 13 year old son proceeded to look outside the car for a fire. We both kept saying where? My daughter then said “ right there look up” we both looked and the passenger side visor was in flames where it connects to the roof of the jeep. My son tried to blow it out but it sparked up 2 more times before he held the visor up before the fire went out completely. This was absolutely terrifying. I’m so worried my car is going to catch on fire while I am sleeping tonight. Please help

I was driving my 2020 jeep wrangler and I had a busy intersection and the engine stopped. I tried to restart the engine that did not work. I called AAA for a jump and they sent a technician and it still would not start. I had to have it towed to a local Jeep dealership. Everything electronically was flashing on the dashboard. My hazard lights would work on and off. The wipers started going, and I could not get the Jeep out of the park. After 2 1/2 hours in this busy intersection, the tow truck appeared. The vehicle is in the shop right now, and there was no warnings or messages that appeared.

my jeeps (2020 4door wrangler unlimited sport JL) VIN does not come back to any recalls on the NHTSA but it has the old aluminum steering gear part# (P68250506AE) and needs to be replaced by the new part# (68507569AA) and a EHPS software eopdate per TSB 08-003-21 REV. A. some dealers are not honoring the TSB if the VIN does not come back to a recall. this issues causes unsafe steering wander and lead pull left to right. I think the dealers should be notified that there are still jeeps with the aluminum steering gear that does not show up on recalls.

Jeep caught fire by passenger visor

May 16, 2023

After having the steering damper replaced for the death wobble on my 2020 Jeep Wrangler, a week later I was driving my jeep down the road and the vehicle stalled out on me. The auto start/stop light turned on and the car stalled out in the middle of a busy roadway in drive and would not go into park. After getting it into park, several lights turned on my dash, including “service power steering” and “service electronic stability control. My shifter lights all began flashing at once and my windshield wipers began to go while they were turned off. The vehicle would also not go into N and after finally getting it into neutral, we had to hold the emergency neutral pull while steering across 4 lanes of a busy roadway. This is now the second major safety issue (1st is death wobble) i’ve had with my jeep and no recalls have been issued. My car is at 42k miles and a lease, these cars should not be having these issues so early! It has now been at Jeep for a week and they have yet to look at the vehicle and keep giving me the run down of “we haven’t been able to look at your vehicle but it doesn’t look good” Jeeps seem to have major safety issues lately.

Apr 3, 2023

I am having a stalling issue when driving down the road. its not a constant issue but will occasionally stall/stop accelerating. you will have to let off the pedal and push down again. it will gain power back right after and be fine. believe it possibly a fuel pump issue or tps problem.

Mar 29, 2023

My engine cut off without warning at a very busy intersection. I was stuck in busy traffic. I could not get it restarted or out of park. (I am a resident of Altavista, Va. 24517 This incident occurred in South Boston, Va.,approx. 40-45 miles from where I live.) A South Boston Policeman stopped and a fire dept. employee offered their assistance (and were very helpful). They were almost hit by cars several times from each side. I knew I had to get the vehicle out of the middle of the street, so I asked the policeman to call a local garage to send a rollback (tow truck) to get it out of the street and the dangerous traffic. The local garage was equipped with a machine that showed what was wrong, The final settings had to be made by a Jeep dealer. The garage took it to a Jeep dealer in Henderson, NC. (approx. 44 miles from South Boston, Va). Personal in the service department informed us said that they had know this to happen before. The Jeep has a primary and secondary battery (the stop and go system). I understand that if the primary battery goes dead without warning, the secondary battery tries to pick up the entire electrical load and the smaller battery cannot handle it and it destroys the fuse block. Both batteries and the fuse block had to be replaced. I was without a car for approx. two weeks, and a great deal of expense ($1,391.64). I am now wondering if and when it will happen again.

I was driving my vehicle on the expressway and a dash light with an “A” and a circle came on. My car began to slow down on its own and would not allow me to accelerate. I managed to coast off the expressway to an exit. I immediately smelled gas and my eyes began to burn. I tried to restart my car but it was sputtering. I checked under the hood and the car smelled like strong gas. After this my eyes were burning as if someone sprayed pepper spray in them. I had get assistance to get a tow. I went to a nearby urgent care to get my eyes checked out because after all of this they were blood shot red….I see that some 2020 2.0L Jeeps have a fuel line recall but my recall isn’t showing up. This vehicle should definitely have a recall. I also have issues with my radio saying “overheating” then the volume goes out and the radio shuts off.

I am not clear 100 percent but the brand new car (leased) was brought in 3 separate times with electrical issues (towed twice) when it had under 20k miles on it In Jan 2023 when I was driving on a major parkway in NY the electrical system went-my steering locked up and I had to somehow get off road and onto median. I was towed to a gas station in Hempstead I believe then had to pay to town home (I forgot to call keep roadside as my sod was not working ) It is now sitting in ny in my moms driveway -I am due to return the leased card in march so I am still paying for an inoperable car I flew to FL which is where I now live and needed a car so went to Schumaker jeep in Delray I have a new jeep that appears to have failed testing (I found a piece of paper in console (vin for this new car is [XXX]) And the radio console screen and interior lights dim out of nowhere or go completely black even though radio/etc on. I’ve reported to dealers here in FL -to the Chrysler capital corporate and keep corporate phones-have 2 case numbers with no follow up. Went to a keep dealer to have diagnostic testing but looks like that didn’t really happen as I wasn’t given a sheet showing the completed testing. I’m not sure how to resolve my issues and I’m worried I’m again in an unsafe car which seems to be missing safety protections (side view mirror blind spot alerts) my 2020 keep had and def seems to have some electrical issues or has failed battery charging, I don’t know how to get help for either car and am worried I’m driving an unsafe car. After stopping my Jeep on September 27th smoke was coming out of the engine immediately. There had been no warning lights on the dash or any smells from the engine. I got out and tried to open the hood and the engine was already fully engulfed in fire. Our Jeep had never had any engine trouble or been into the dealership except to have the oil changed. Upon doing my own investigation I have seen many of these fires. Something is definitely wrong with this engine. I could have lost my life.

Sep 20, 2022

I had been driving my car off and on throughout the day without incidence. I stopped by the the grocery store and went in for a very short amount of time. I came out and cranked my car, it cranked as normal. I drove out of the parking lot into traffic and the car just started going haywire then shut off. Lights were flashing inside the car, the dash lights kept coming on and off, the wipers were moving even though they had not been on previously. I turned on my hazard lights and they would only illuminate in the front of the vehicle, but also intermittently. I had no means of warning other drivers, this occurred after dark. The car would not go into neutral so it could be pushed from the roadway. There were no warning lights to let me know anything was wrong. I had no indicators prior to this occurrence and was left completely stranded in traffic in the dark. I was told by the auto shop it was towed to that the issue was the auxiliary battery. This battery was causing a drain on the main battery and therefore shut down.

Aug 31, 2022

My vehicle is still at the Jeep dealership service center being repaired, but so far, the reported issue includes a "shorted" fuse block. As I was driving the vehicle, I was approaching a red light when my vehicle abruptly halted. The cars behind & near me were forced to go around to avoid hitting my vehicle. The dashboard initially flashed the message "safety mode" or something similar, the check engine light came on, the brakes locked, & the power steering & windows ceased to function. While I waited for the police, I tried to restart the vehicle many times, in hopes of getting it into neutral and/or getting it off of the roadway - nothing worked. The vehicle then began to flash the message "Service Electronic Stability Control." The DOTD serviceman & the tow truck driver were unable to get the vehicle into neutral manually, so it had to be dragged using chains. Once the vehicle was towed to the Jeep dealership (Covington, LA), I was first told that the battery had a voltage of 0. After replacing the battery, I was told that the fuse block was shorted. The representative explained the fuse block's purpose, & further explained that because mine shorted, the battery was unable to communicate with the rest of the vehicle, like the alternator & the PCM, on how much voltage was coming out of the system - i.e., since my computer shorted, the vehicle did not know that the battery was dead. Thus, when the battery killed abruptly while driving, the vehicle basically panicked & went into “safe mode” (limp mode) & locked up the entire machine. I asked repeatedly how this happens and how it can be avoided in the future, and while dancing around many indirect answers, the rep stated that my fuse block in this instance basically caused a complete electronic failure of the vehicle. I am an attorney & I have spoken with experts who suggest that this issue should be investigated. It is a serious hazard & a defect for one glitched part to kill the entire machine while driving.

After one year of owning the Jeep Wrangler 2020 the steering wheel would lock up while driving. This not only puts me at risk but others also. After multiple times of this happening I have dodged multiple accidents and collisions with other cars and thankfully avoiding death. When the steering wheel locks & this happens I am not able to turn the wheel at all. We have attempted to get this car repaired by our dealership over 5 times, we are now in the process of the lemon law and FCA completely does not care. they are continuously brushing us off and dragging this whole process out. I have explained how dangerous this problem is and no one contacts us back. we have sent multiple emails and called and left voicemails and no one responds. FCA keeps asking for paperwork we have sent multiple times. This jeep wrangler is a death trap and I refuse to drive it. We are making payments every month and cannot enjoy the car. we have not even missed one payment and this is how we get treated. I will not recommend jeeps products to anyone. I don't think I will ever buy a jeep product again. I am putting this out there so no one else will be put in this miserable position or put their life In danger dealing with jeeps awful products. this needs to be addressed before someone dies.

May 27, 2022

I am getting an error message to "service shifter", and "service stability". The cars goes into a limp mode. The dash board alarms every error possible. Driving the car is unsafe, as it is unpredictable. When the car is off and the keys are not in it, the car will run in some way because the windshield wipers will start working. The vehicle has been brought to the dealership 4 times now with the same problem. They have not yet been able to permanently correct the issue. At most, I have gone 50 mile until the issue comes back. The warning messages will "ding" and appear on screen and the steering wheel will prevent driving any other way than straight forward. There were no other symptoms in the car, the car has been serviced regularly and on schedule by the dealership, and has approx 32K miles at this time. I have been researching the issue in different forums, and it appears that this has been reported as an issue since 2018. Unfortunately, I have yet to see a solution posted on the matter.

The rear camera/head unit freezes with an image of what was behind the vehicle when placed in reverse. This recently caused an issue where a group of people walked behind my Jeep while pulling out. Both myself and the group were fortunate enough that I caught one of the people walking behind my Jeep and stopped before backing into them with the backup camera still showing a clear path. This issue has been documented with Jeep and was serviced November of 2021. They replaced the unit but after a few months the new head unit started crashing and I am still having this intermittent issue where the screen shows a static image for the rear view upon placing the Jeep in reverse. No warning lamps or messages are shown. Eventually the watchdog timer times out after about a minute and the system reboots. The head unit will also crash randomly at other times while driving but this is the only instance it puts safety at risk. I would estimate it occurs 2-5% of the time I back out. Before I took the Jeep in for service I documented, in detail, each time the unit crashed and gave it to the service tech, I will send it to you as well when I locate the file. I also attached links to video showing a 2 examples at various different times this occurred, including an instance today. https://photos.app.goo.gl/pvrpoP44CjFHHfvN6 https://photos.app.goo.gl/ALu3dAw6Sarz3jzJ6

I was driving down freeway and all power cut out, pulled over and power came back on. A week later my service 4x4 light came on. I tried to put in 4wd and it got stuck, would not go into 4wd. I had to use excessive force to push stick back to 2wd. I called local dealership to set up an appoint. Service advisor told me he already knew what was wrong with it and that I would have to pay out of pocket because its not being covered by Chryler warranty regardless of mileage and with in warranty timeframe. He said it is a "common problem" because these vehicles have soybased wiring and attracts rodents. Took my vehicle in thinking that he must be wrong, but the technician identified that my wiring is damaged. The dealership refused to submit the claim to Chrysler corp nor would they put down their statement about the "soy based wiring" when I raised legal issues, they refused to work on my vehicle even if I paid as they stated" they dont want the publicity". I was never informed on purchase that the vehicle i purchased had this safety issue. Work order states damage but eludes specific cause on invoice, no repairs were done, service 4wd light still on, I only have 2wd, all dealerships in area are owned by same group who sold me this vehicle and no appoints for 1 to 2 months available.

*Radio, navigation / all sound loss (intermittently) *Radio freezes as well as display (intermittently) *Blind spot warning - beeps at inappropriate times for example when 2 lanes turn left it beeps making you think you are going to hit someone *Back-up Camera - freezes on screen and/or turns black *climate control - does not remain on the setting you put it on *bluetooth - randomly begins to play something when it should not *vehicle is turned off, door closed and locked, but radio will remain on and continue to play in vehicle. All of these things cause immense distraction and pose great danger to a driver as well as other drivers on the road. This vehicle had a little over 4,000 miles on it when I purchased it. Purchased dec 2020 and Uconnect replaced by dealer early 2021. The same issues are occurring with the replacement system. Took jeep in today, on 10/4/2021 and they say they have ordered another Uconnect system however, I doubt it will fix these issues. Very disappointed in this vehicle for it to be such an expensive purchase.

The AutoPark sensors, ( Park Collision Warning), in my 2020 Jeep Wrangler randomly triggers and engages AutoPark. The false triggers randomly occur when the vehicle is in reverse. The condition occurs at very low speed after the brake is touched. The false triggers occur during daylight or night conditions. Once AutoPark is engaged the vehicle will not move. The engine must be turned off and sometimes the AutoPark switch must be turned off before the vehicle will move. There is usually no object within 15 feet of my vehicle to trigger the autopark sensors. I videotaped some of the occurrences using my cell phone. The Jeep service department is not able to diagnose the problem. In addition, the false triggers are not creating system log entries to prove the event occurred. Jeep service department will not use my videos as evidence the event happened. Jeep Service will not escalate the problem unless their service department can recreate the condition. My video is 200MB, exceeds your upload limits.

The infotainment screen will freeze when the backup camera is active. May lead to an accident since the screen may give impression you are clear but it is actually frozen.

HAD IT FOR LESS THAN 2 WEEKS (WAS BRAND NEW, PURCHASED WITH ONLY 43 MILES) AND DECIDED TO TAKE IT ON A FALL ROAD TRIP. HALFWAY THROUGH OUR ROAD TRIP (ABOUT 100 MILES IN) ENGINE STARTED 'JUMPING' AND 'HEAVING' WHILE IN CRUISE CONTROL ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MP; THEN WOUDN'T ACCELERATE AT ALL, AND SPEED STARTED TO DECLINE. WAS VERY NEAR AN EXIT, SO WAS ABLE TO COAST IN TO A GAS STATION. ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL ERROR CODE + SERVICE ENGINE LIGHTS WERE LIT. ATTEMPTED TO TURN OFF AN ON SEVERAL TIMES, HOPING THIS WAS JUST SOME KIND OF GLITCH, BUT AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS IT WOUDN'T EVEN STAY STARTED. WHILE IN PARK, AFTER PRESSING "START" ENGINE JUST KEPT JUMPING THEN AUTOMATICALLY WOULD SHUT ITSELF OFF. OUR WHOLE FAMILY STRANDED HOURS AWAY FROM HOME. UNDER 500 MILES AND IT HAD TO BE TOWED IN TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP WHERE IT'S BEEN SITTING FOR ALMOST A WEEK NOW AND THEY STILL HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA HOW TO FIX IT. WAS TOLD THAT IT LIT UP WITH SO MANY ERROR CODES THEY HAVE TO GET A SPECIAL ENGINEER FROM MOPAR TO COME OUT' JUST IN SHOCK THAT WE'RE HAVING THIS ISSUE WITH A $65K VEHICLE. VERY UNSAFE.

VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY DOES NOT TURN BACK ON AFTER ENGINE SHUTS OFF DURING NORMAL ELECTRONIC START SYSTEM OPERATION. ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHEN NEARLY AND AT A STOP. WHEN RELEASING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE ENGINE DOES NOT TURN BACK ON. THERE HAVE BEEN THREE OCCURRENCES AS FOLLOWS: OCCURRENCE 1 6/27/2020: EXITING THE THRUWAY AND NEARLY AT A COMPLETE STOP AT A LIGHT AT EXIT WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF DUE TO ESS SYSTEM. UPON RELEASING THE BRAKE TO BEGIN DRIVING, THE ENGINE FAILED TO TURN ON. OPERATOR WAS PUSHING GAS PEDAL TO GO, THE ENGINE REMAINED OFF. REMEDY WAS TO TAP THE BRAKE AGAIN IN WHICH THE ENGINE TURNED ON AND WAS ABLE TO MOVE. OCCURRENCE 2 7/13/2020: CAME TO A STOP IN TRAFFIC ON A STREET. ENGINE SHUT OFF DUE TO ESS SYSTEM AS DESIGNED. UPON RELEASING THE BRAKE, THE ENGINE DID NOT RESTART. OPERATOR PUSHING GAS PEDAL MULTIPLE TIMES AND ENGINE STILL DID NOT TURN BACK ON, SITTING 'DEAD' IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. ATTEMPTING TO PUSH THE PUSH START BUTTON DID NOT TURN VEHICLE BACK ON. REMEDY AGAIN WAS TO PUSH BRAKE PEDAL AGAIN AND ENGINE TURNED ON. OCCURRENCE 3 AUGUST 2,2020: OPERATOR IN TRAFFIC, CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. RELEASED BRAKE PEDAL TO BEGIN MOVING. ENGINE DID NOT TURN BACK ON, AND SHIFTER 'D' SYMBOL BEGAN FLASHING. TAPPING BRAKE PEDAL WOULD NOT RESTART VEHICLE. DASHBOARD STATED 'SHIFT TO P TO PARK', TO PLACE VEHICLE IN PARK POSITION. PLACED VEHICLE INTO PARK, HAD TO RESTART ENGINE BY PUSHING START BUTTON. ENGINE TURNED ON AND WAS ABLE TO MOVE. I HAVE A VIDEO SHOWING THE THIRD OCCURRENCE, HOWEVER THIS SUBMISSION ONLY ALLOWS PICTURE FORMAT SO TOOK SNAPSHOTS OF CODE. SENT VIDEO TO FCA, HAVE MULTIPLE RECORDED VISITS TO DEALER TO FIND ISSUE, NO ROOT CAUSE DETERMINED AT THIS POINT. REQUESTED REFUND/REPLACEMENT.

ON 8/3/2020 WITH 300 MILES BATTERY IS DEAD. ON 8/13/2020 TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND FOUND NOTHING. 8/13 ENGINE DIED AT A SIGNAL AND RADIO SHUTS DOWN. JEEP IS FINE FOR 9 DAYS WITHOUT ENGINE LIGHT ON. 8/24 ENGINE LIGHT RETURNS ON. 8/25 ENGINE DIES AT A SIGNAL,AND THE RADIO SHUTS DOWN. WHILE ON THE FREEWAY, BATTERY LIGHTS, ABS, AND TRACTION/STABILIZER LIGHTS COME ON. THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT, AND WAS HARD TO STEER. THE HEATER COMES ON VIA DEFROST VENTS BLASTING HOT AIR AND UNABLE TO TURN OFF. POWER ACCELERATION GOES OUT. VERY SCAREY AND DANGEROUS. ALL LIGHTS ARE FLASHING ON DASH PANEL AND THE CAR IS DIES. JEEP TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. ON 8/27 THE TECHNICIAN TRIED TO CHARGE BATTERIES FOR ONE AND HALF HOURS ON 1ST ATTEMPT WITH NO SUCCESS. TECHNICIAN SAID BATTERY SEVERELY DISCHARGED AND THEY COULD NOT RETRIEVE INFORMATION. ON 8/31 AFTER HOURS ON A CHARGE ON THE 2ND ATTEMPT, THE BATTERIES CHARGE AND TECHNICIAN CLEARED ALL CODES TECHNICIAN DROVE IT A COUPLE OF DAYS (MILEAGE IS NOW 670) AND BECAUSE NO CODES RETURNED "ON", SAYS THE JEEP IS FIXED. ON 9/3 WE PICK UP THE JEEP. THE NEXT DAY 9/4 NEW PANEL LIGHTS COME ON FOR THE PARKSENSE SYSTEM. THE DASH PANEL SAYS TO WIPE CLEAN. THEY ARE CLEAN. THE TURN ON/OFF BUTTON LIGHT CONTINUES TO BLINK. OPENED A CASE # 77098337 WITH JEEP CARE ON 8/31 AND HAVE HAD NO HELP AND SENT DETAILED DOCUMENTION AND VIDEOS OF THE PROBLEMS. THE CAUSE IS DEFINITELY ELECTRICAL WITH THE BATTERIES NOT BEING ABLE TO HOLD A CHARGE. WE ARE IN FEAR OF DRIVING THIS JEEP AND BEING STRANDED SOMEWHERE REMOTE AND HAVE WHAT HAPPENED TO US HAPPEN AGAIN ENDING IN AN INJURY ACCIDENT OR DEATH BECAUSE OF THE LOSS OF POWER TO STEERING AND ACCELERATION. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. WE THOUGHT THE JEEP WAS GOING TO CATCH FIRE BECAUSE OF THE HEAT COMING OUT OF THE VENTS. PLEASE HELP! I HAVE VIDEOS BUT CANNOT UPLOAD HERE SO TOOK SCREENSHOTS FROM THE VIDEOS.

WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, AND ALSO ON LOCAL ROADS, A SERVICE SHIFTER ERROR MESSAGE COMES UP ON THE DASH DISPLAY. RIGHT AFTER THAT NUMEROUS ERROR LIGHTS COME ON INDICATING NUMEROUS FAILURES ALONG WITH A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. IN ADDITION, THE STEERING LOCKS UP MAKING IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STEER THE VEHICLE. MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER THE VEHICLE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. AND, IT HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. THERE ARE VIDEOS ONLINE THAT SHOW THIS FAILURE ON OTHER NEW JEEP WRANGLERS.

TOOK MY JEEP WRANGLER IN FOR SERVICE TO ADDRESS A SERIOUS HIGHWAY SPEED OVER STEERING ISSUE. AT FREEWAY SPEED YOU CAN NOT HOLD THE JEEP INTO A CURVE WITH DRIFTING OUT OF THE RADIUS OF THE CURVE. THIS FORCES A SLIGHT CORRECTION WHICH OVER CORRECTS THE OTHER WAY. I ALSO HAVE MY PREMIUM SOUND LEFT SPEAKERS CUTTING OUT PERIODICALLY WHEN DRIVING.
