Jan 7, 2026 Fire

On Tuesday January 6 2026, I was driving my 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. I noticed smoke coming out the engine. I pulled over to the side of the road to determine the problem. Upon exiting the vehicle, I saw flames coming from the undercarriage of the engine. The fire soon engulfed the vehicle. 911 was called. Police and Fire responded. The vehicle was destroyed in the fire. I have photos and videos of the fire and aftermath, taken once I exited the vehicle. I assume the fire is the result of the recent recall on the battery components of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe. The vehicle is currently in an impound lot and would be available for inspection upon request. I have notified Jeep and my insurance of the incident, but the jeep has not as of yet, been inspected by either entity. The fire was of great risk to myself. If I hadn't pulled over when I did who knows what might have occurred. In addition I had a full tank of gas so the vehicle could have exploded endangering other people, vehicles, and property. No warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem appeared prior to the failure. The vehicle had been operating as intended prior to smoke/fire. I have documentation of a service of the vehicle on Wednesday Dec 3, 2025 with Raidon's of Kirkland in which the performed recall services.

Basically stated, death wobble, after looking up symptoms. At 65 mph on the highway, hit a bump and the entire jeep shook uncontrollably. I just purchased it used not 10 minutes prior to the incident. The dealership failed to mention this and sold it as-is.

On April 15th 2025 my Instrument Panal Clusters IPC which is main computer system of Jeeps 2018-2024. It has service lights for check engine, tire pressure, def system recalibrations/cleanings, tells me how fast I'm going, oil levels, all other fluid levels, when I need a oil change, how many miles is on jeep, gas gage, along with all other issues or maintenance on a vehicle including if something is wrong or overheating of vehicle. After doing some research I did see there was a Ipc recall on Jeeps/Gladiators 2018-2024. After going on the website to check if my vin qualified it was sadly not included. I ended up taking my vehicle into the dealership and paid out of my pocket 150.00 to have my vehicle diagnosed. The dealership said it was indeed the Ipc but also said my vin number was not included which was a shock to them also since is a severe issue not being able to see anything on dash for my and other driver's on the road . They tried to submit a goodwill to Jeep Corporate office which was sadly declined also. They advised me to park my vehicle and suggest that it was not safe to drive as I do not know when it needs gas an oil change or any other important issues that may be needed. After waiting 8 months patiently making payments not only for a vehicle I cannot use is ridiculous not till mention insurance on top of that something needs to be done weather it's fixing problems, giving me a rental, or just trading the vehicle in for a usable one. Thank you for your time in advance. I tried to upload photos of the diagnostics for the Ipc also the denial of the goodwill. Oh and I forgot I was on the phone for 4 hours with FCA 18003349200 customer care spoke to recall center spoke to Shawn on 6/27/2025 @ 215pm after getting the run around and being transferred 6 different times to Ann Riley and Josh wasting my time to get told I'm not able to speak to a supervisor and there was nothing they could do to help!!!!

The 1st time it happened I was getting on highway and went over a Crack in road and my jeep started vibrating violently. Totally scared me but once I slowed down it stopped so I figured it was a fluke thing. My hubby drove it to Seattle and going 70 he went over grooved pavement and the shaking happened again. Third times a charm at 65 and didn't go over anything and it scared the crap out of me so bad I slowed down to 30 in a 60 in order for it to stop. Immediately contacted dealership and was told it would be hundreds of dollars and it isn't covered under warranty. I bought this Jeep brand new, only has 41,000miles and dont beat her up on off road because she is my daily driver. This violently shaking is scary and this could really do a new driver some harm and needs to be addressed and fixed in ALL Jeep vehicles.

I am reporting an ongoing steering/wheel wobble issue with my Jeep Wrangler. While driving at highway speeds, the vehicle suddenly begins to shake severely after hitting small bumps or uneven pavement. The wobble feels like the front end is vibrating uncontrollably, and the steering wheel oscillates left and right. I am forced to slow down significantly to regain control. This has happened multiple times, and the wobble creates a clear safety hazard because the vehicle becomes difficult to steer and maintain in the lane. The issue is unpredictable but tends to occur between approximately 45–65 mph. I have checked tire balance and suspension components, but the problem persists.

Hello, I am writing to escalate an urgent issue involving my vehicle recall and my scheduled shipment. I have paid over three thousand dollars to Montway as my broker, and at this point all involved parties have failed to provide a clear solution. I cannot move forward without immediate support. My Jeep is experiencing a recurring battery recall for the seventh time. This is a product defect that is outside of my control. My vehicle is scheduled to ship through Pasha in the coming days, and the recall must be resolved before drop off. Pasha has informed me that I cannot keep the vehicle at the port before the appointment window, and Montway has not provided any realistic guidance on where the vehicle can be safely held. I hired Montway to help coordinate this process. I paid for professional support. Being told to find a holding location myself while coordinating a safety recall is not acceptable. I need all parties to provide real solutions and support. I need the following: Written confirmation from Jeep that the recall service will be completed at no cost to me and that my VIN is being handled as a priority case. Written confirmation from Montway that my shipment schedule remains active and that I will not be charged additional fees caused by this recall. Clear guidance on the correct next steps for temporary holding or drop off timing so I can comply with Pasha requirements without further disruption. I am not responsible for additional fee that has been involved due to the recall alert from 2 days ago, just a few days before my vessel departs. I have now been informed that I may need to pay additional costs due to delays and complications caused by this recall. I need to make it very clear that I am not responsible for any extra fees related to this situation. This recurring defect is a Jeep product issue and has nothing to do with my actions or maintenance. I should not be financially penalized for a repeated safety failure that is fully docume

My clutch was recalled and I brought it in maybe around 10 times after because the service transmission light immediately came up after the recall fix. After bringing it to jeep for a year and engineers giving me the run around. First they said it was the way I was driving the clutch then after a year they said that the recall was to put a new sensor in and that is why the service transmission light is going on. This cannot be correct because they would have said that from the beginning. It is dangerous because you cannot see anything on the screen when the service transmission light comes up. They do not know what is wrong and are making up excuses after it was in the shop off and on for a year. The way I drive the clutch is normal and should never make the service transmission light go on. It never happened before the recall.i have docume to from all the times it went into the shop.

I was driving my 2021 Jeep wrangler and it started running poorly. I was near the dealership. I called them and told them I was headed to them asap. (I was within 3 mile range). The car died in the middle of an intersection. I could not put the car in neutral to move it out of the way of traffic. I got a tow truck to bring it to the dealership. Where they told me that the coolant tube fasteners for my vehicle were gone, and that the engine was blown, including the pump. Elbow screws were missing for the vehicle and coolant was everywhere in my vehicle. My car has 46,000 miles on it. It has had every single oil change ,reported recall done and service request to complete completed.. It has been taken very well care of and has only been to this one dealership.. according to the dealership, it is not covered under my powertrain warranty, and that I must pay for the engine and other parts myself. Upon looking into this, I looked into the NHTSA and also the FCA for recalls on a 2021. I found that that my 2021 would have been recalled for recall number ZD8. Recall code is exactly what is wrong with my 2021 vehicle. I don’t know why they didn’t did not add my VIN number to it, but I am requesting that it be investigated to help me get this covered under warranty. I have contacted Chrysler currently they’re telling me that the engine is not available until November 17 at the earliest so at this time I am in a rental car that I am paying for.. I do believe that my VIN number for my vehicle should have been added and that it should be investigated for other owners of Jeep Wrangler 2021 and 2022 vehicles that possibly were not listed with their VIN numbers. Please help expedite. chrysler case # 94425835. Dealer code 45091 and customer number 81103. Thank you

Oct 4, 2025 Crash

My husband was turning left from one highway to another highway when a car who was trying to pass multiple vehicles behind us hit us on drivers side as we were turning causing my 2021 Jeep to be pushed completely off the road and into a ditch where we hit a large pole/electrical pole. We hit the pole so hard that it moved it. Our air bags did not deploy at all. I got a notification on my Jeep app stating that there was airbag failure. My husband and my body were shook pretty bad from the incident and could have been seriously injured due to the impact. Our Jeep was towed to the body shop and they stated the gentleman working there told my husband that our airbags should have deployed.

On 7/13/25, my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with approximately 50,000 miles on it spontaneously caught fire as I was driving down the highway. The fire appeared to start in the engine compartment and very quickly moved to the entire front end of the vehicle. I pulled over on the side of the road and managed to safely exit the vehicle without physical injury. In minutes, the entire vehicle was consumed in flames. The fire department arrived within 10 minutes. When I departed the scene of the incident, fire fighters were still spraying water on the vehicle. After leaving the scene, I went to the hospital for psychological injury related to the incident. The investigation into the fire is currently underway. I do not have additional information about the cause or specific location of the fire. The vehicle is currently at a tow yard and is a total loss. It is nearly unrecognizable aside from the frame and a few components in the far rear. I am in the process of documenting all upgrades and modifications. Since it was fully built for off-roading and overlanding, it is a long and challenging task to take inventory of every part. Approximately 3 months before the incident, the vehicle was towed to a local CDJR dealership for a factory recall, where the entire fuel system was replaced. There were no other issues with the vehicle.

1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The hybrid-electric system, including the high-voltage battery, battery pack control module (BPCM), and associated cooling systems, repeatedly malfunctioned. These failures caused loss of power while driving, electrical odors, and error messages. The vehicle is currently at the dealership for service and is available for inspection upon request. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The vehicle has lost power multiple times while in motion, including on city streets and highways. These unexpected power losses significantly increased the risk of rear-end collisions and limited my ability to safely accelerate or steer in traffic. I have had to take anxiety medication when driving the vehicle due to fear of these events recurring, and I am deeply concerned about the safety of my family, including a newborn passenger. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The issues have been confirmed by an authorized Jeep dealership on multiple occasions. Despite several recall campaigns and attempted repairs, the same power loss and electrical system problems have recurred. Service advisors and technicians acknowledged the problems and attempted component replacements and reprogramming, but the malfunctions persist. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? The vehicle has been inspected and serviced exclusively by an authorized Jeep/Chrysler dealership (Autonation CDJR in Roseville, CA). There is no indication that FCA/Stellantis corporate has physically inspected the vehicle beyond dealership reports. It has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes. Warning lights and messages su

I own a 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Unlimited, which has undergone three manufacturer recalls and two separate service (one handle during a recall visit) visits due to charging failures. The recalls were related to defrost system malfunctions, sudden loss of motor power, and high-voltage battery concerns. Each of these issues was addressed solely through **dealer-installed software updates**—updates that could not be completed over the air. These recalls and service visits highlight a troubling pattern: the vehicle’s core systems—including the BPCM, IDCM, PIM, TCM, and HCP—are deeply interconnected and dependent on one another. So far, my vehicle has required a total of **10 software updates**, with some systems needing multiple revisions. Most recently, Jeep addressed a “not charging” problem by once again performing a software update—this time affecting **five of the seven systems previously updated during recalls**. Despite the problem originating from their software architecture, Jeep charged me **$200 for the update**, even though it stemmed from an issue caused by their failed over-the-air deployment strategy. These recurring failures are not isolated incidents—they represent a systemic flaw within the vehicle’s hybrid management and safety systems. Relying on repeated software patches to resolve critical defects is not only unsustainable—it’s creating **unsafe driving conditions** and placing an unfair burden on the owner.

Coolant, leaking from jeep wrangler overheated, took it to my personal mechanic, who pointed out that there is a known issue and handed me the customer notification ZD8 coolant leakage, which states that the vehicle should be taken to a dealership and that the repair would be covered. I took it to the dealership. I was told that it is not covered and now I'm being charged over $500 for something that is a known issue. I have tried calling mopar.I've tried calling other eight hundred numbers to get someone to explain this to me yet.No one seems to be able to tell me anything.Other than there are no open recalls, which I already know can someone please explain why a known issue is not covered?

Coolant leaking, engine overheating, dealer says not covered issue despite it being a known issue (see customer satisfaction notification zd8 coolant leak. But dealership is going to charge me over five hundred dollars to replace a gasket and use some lock tight on my vehicle. I understand there isnt a RECALL on my vin in particular but I also can read and the narrative in the above mentioned notification matches my vehicle. 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 2.0 turbo engine. So why am I paying out of pocket for a "known" issue?

Date: [XXX] Subject: Immediate Safety Concern – 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe – Acceleration Failure Dear Jeep Customer Care, I am the owner of a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe, VIN [XXX] , with approximately 50,000 miles. I am writing to report a critical and potentially fatal safety defect that occurred multiple times on [XXX], most notably at the intersection of [XXX] and [XXX] in Oregon. On multiple occasions, when attempting to accelerate from a full stop into an intersection with cross traffic traveling at 55 mph or more, the vehicle failed to respond to throttle input. Instead of accelerating, the Jeep simply rolled slowly into the intersection despite my foot fully depressing the accelerator pedal. This placed me at immediate risk of being struck broadside by oncoming vehicles at high speed, which could have resulted in catastrophic injury or death. The check engine light was on since [XXX] and my husband drove the Jeep to Lithia Chrysler Dodge of Bend (Oregon) on June 4th, 2025, 12 pm. They ran a computer test and told my husband that there was a recall on the battery but that we could still drive the car, and it was safe but not to charge the car (we followed instructions). We couldn’t even secure a vehicle appointment until July 2nd, 2025. How do you not prioritize a potentially critical situation? This defect is entirely unacceptable and renders the vehicle unsafe for operation. I will not drive the vehicle further due to the danger involved. Given the severity of this defect, I request: •Immediate investigation by Jeep/FCA engineering and technical teams. •Safe transport (towing) of the vehicle to an authorized service center at Jeep’s expense. •Full documentation of the inspection, diagnosis, and resolution of this issue. •Confirmation of whether this issue has been reported in other 4xe vehicles or constitutes part of a larger safety defect investigation. I am documenting this issue formally INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

After picking up the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe from the dealership for repairs to the rotors and struts and bearings, the Wrangler was running roughly. Before I was halfway home, I called the dealer back to explain the engine was running roughly, wasn't able to get over 40mph, and was acting as if it was going to stall or lose power. I stated I needed to bring it back because I wasn't going to be able to drive it like this. Before I got halfway back to the dealership, the Wrangler lost power and was making a noise as if it was going to blow up. I was barely able to get it off the side of the road and narrowly missed a rearend collision from the vehicle behind me. I was on a dark, heavily traveled two lane road during evening work traffic hours. Dealership did send a tow truck. This occurred late October of 2024. The vehicle is still at the dealership and is still not repaired or running as of today 4/25/25 although the dealer says they are working to locate the exact problem. The dealership state after initially suspecting the e-battery, it is an electrical problem but are unable to locate the exact location of the electrical problem. The dealership stated they have opened a ticket with Stellantis and that Stellantis sent a technician to examine the vehicle and determined that is indeed an electrical issue but did not know where the problem was or how to repair. It appears that the Wrangler is not repairable, and it is still under the manufactures warranty of 3 years/36,000. I have included service invoices that show there were 2 other incidents where the Wrangler would not start. In one other incident, the vehicle had to be towed to the dealership. Just before the vehicle lost power, multiple warning lights began lighting up the dashboard, including (believe it or not) a turtle. I am uncertain as to what else came up, it was cold, dark and I was on a heavily traveled road during work traffic hours. A Sheriff's Department deputy did respond to my location.

Since purchasing my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, the vehicle’s radio system has been defective, creating a significant safety hazard. The original radio (Radio 1) had a short that drained the battery and was replaced by a dealer. The replacement radio (Radio 2) has never functioned properly: the Bluetooth system fails to stay paired, requiring manual re-pairing every time the vehicle is started. Multiple software updates have been attempted, but the issue persists unchanged. This defect prevents reliable hands-free phone operation, which is critical for safe driving. My wife uses this vehicle daily to transport our children to school, and the lack of a functional hands-free system forces her to either forgo phone use entirely or risk distracted driving, violating Georgia’s hands-free law (O.C.G.A. § 40-6-241), which prohibits holding a phone while driving. This malfunction endangers my family and other road users, as it compromises the driver’s ability to communicate safely in emergencies or navigate without distraction. Repair History: * Initial Defect: Radio 1 shorted and drained the battery; replaced with Radio 2 (date unknown, within first year of ownership). * Ongoing Issue: Radio 2’s Bluetooth has required re-pairing every drive since installation, despite multiple dealer visits and software updates. * Recent Action: Dropped off vehicle on April 11, 2025, at Rick Hendrick Duluth (mileage: 48,177). Dealer staff (Heather Kratky and Matt Otis) stated Jeep has not authorized a fix and considers the issue unresolvable, leaving the defect unaddressed. * Mopar Escalation: Escalated to Mopar. Safety Impact: The persistent Bluetooth failure eliminates hands-free capability, a standard safety feature in modern vehicles. This defect directly contributes to distracted driving risks, particularly in a family vehicle used for school transportation.

On [XXX], I was in Fort Lauderdale, FL for vacation with my 2 friends. I was driving for about 20-30 minutes on the road, got on the highway and noticed a rubber smell. I got off the highway. I still noticed the smell did not go away. So I opened the windows & turned off the AC. Then I saw white smoke coming from the vents and smoke coming from the right side of the hood, in front of the passenger side. I proceeded to pull over and parked the car. We exit the car & saw smoke/flames coming from the right passenger side & underneath the car. I called 911. There were no warnings or indications on my dashboard that something was wrong. I got my car serviced a month prior to this fire at a certified Jeep dealership. My car was deemed a total loss by my insurance. This was completely a safety hazard to myself, two friends and the public. Luckily, there was a fire department just a few buildings down. They arrived shortly after the 911 call and put out the fire, preventing further damage to the surroundings. It was terrifying but thankfully we are all safe. I took my 2021 diesel Jeep in for a Y81 Emissions recall on 02.19.24. Since then, my vehicle has had its check engine light go on SIX TIMES with a P0133 alert which refers to an O2 sensor. I have taken it in to the dealership for a resolution six times. Currently, it is set to be diagnosed and repaired yet one more time on 01.22.25. Now we are in the middle of winter and I feel like the vehicle is about to die at intersections and roundabouts when I approach them. I tried to go through an arbitration with FCA USA LLC which produces the Jeep brand and it was denied for a repurchase of the vehicle because the arbitrator felt it was not a safety issue since I still drive the vehicle and they are technically not in violation of the warranty which I did not accept as a resolution. Due to my non-resolved safety concern, I am raising the issue in this forum so hopefully something can be done and others that potentially have the same issue can reach a resolution as well. My hypothesis of the cause of the issue is when the Y81 recall happened, it tuned down the emissions output that was originally higher necessary for the vehicle to run, because I didn't have check engine lights before. By this tune-down of emissions, the engine is not able to produce the correct output to run the vehicle and thus the random lack of power causing a safety issue, and is currently adversely affecting components that are causing the P0133 O2 sensor to alert.

I have been having random issues with my backup camera on my vehicle and noticed the recall only includes 2024 yrs. I have reported this to my dealership as early as right after purchase in Dec of 2021. I have had the vehicle for 3yrs and it the back up camera stops working randomly at minimum once a month and probably more often than that. My dealership every time I take in for service cant find any issues but now that there is a recall I would like to be included in it.

My name is [XXX] . I am part of the the Jeep 4XE community. I have been heavily invested in the 4XE community from the very beginning. I have the first customer owned Wrangler 4XE, I run a YouTube channel with over 9,000 subscribers and a Facebook group with over 23,000 members. I have several concerns about the 4XE and the way Jeep is possibly mishandling safety issues. I would like to open a dialog with someone at the NHTSA to voice some of these concerns. There has been a lingering battery fire issue that Jeep has now addressed with two recalls. Stories of dealership mishandling are very common. We know if one Wrangler 4XE fire that has happened after the most recent 95B recall. There is also a high failure rate of a component that is called the Electric Coolant Heater. This item is needed for defrost functionality when the vehicle is in electric mode. Many of us in the 4XE community have come to believe that Jeep should offer highly extended or lifetime warranties on this part since it is safety related and has been so problematic. I would like to assemble a team of 4XE owners to consult with the NHTSA on the issues we are seeing. We do not believe Jeep is handling these issues in a manner that is putting the customer safety first and would like to see how we can work together to protect the owners. I took my jeep into the dealer for my 4xe 95b recall. They did not show me pass or fail my car went in on no battery 2 1/2 hrs later they said my car was done. I do not believe they completed the drive cycle test to show pass or fail my odometer reading was only a few miles more then when I dropped it off and no battery charge gas gage hadn't moved. There is no way they did a complete drive cycle. They didn't charge it to over 75% they did not drive it until it was a warm enough temp to run the test. I got nothing but a receipt stating recall software update was done and drive test done. Nothing about if it passed or failed. And under my jeep app they put miscellaneous vehicle inspections. The recall still shows on my car.

Metal chunks found in engine oil, and as were not metal powder swirl, shavings, or specs, possibly from bottom engine crankshaft. At the crank pulley, with the belt off, I could feel nudge by hand from the middle, for an engine component with max specified endplay 0.012 inches, or fraction of a millimeter. An existing manufacturer recall, and not a safety recall, for this 2021 Jeep Wrangler 2.0L Turbo is inspection for loose bolts for water pump inlet. This vehicle will not be available for inspection requests, because it is still not, and waiting to be, diagnosed as the dealer could not necessarily hear an engine issue. I have heard it knock, like a rumbling V8 and turbo whined, and recently I decided to strain the old and knocking oil that I kept and discovered metal. There was something wrong all along. Top engine, with good gas mileage, has been fine. The safety concern to this vehicle is metal in oil to possibly enter top engine and create sudden or instant engine seizure while in operation. The safety of driver or others could be at risk. The safety concern to this vehicle is also the detioration of engine components since they appear under the sole discretion of this motorized vehicle. This means, no other factor known to the driver of this vehicle by which rate of engine detioration has occurred. An indicating observation to be made into this vehicle's safety is the endplay of the crankshaft. This vehicle is nearly 97,000 miles odometer. The endplay seems very excessive, causing me to speculate on original factory fitment and installation during assembly. What determinations into a non-safety recall of loose water pump bolts might emerge as consideration into engine interior deterioration, as rate of this deterioration appear under sole vehicle discretion and remain unknown to the driver. Insufficient cooling is known to cause buildup in any engine, this vehicle has burped coolant air. No warning lights in the dash was seen.

After performing the 95B recall, within 20-30 miles of driving the CEL came on. After powering off and back on the “service charging system” alert displayed on the dash. The vehicle seemed drivable however, and I proceeded to drive it to the dealership two days later which is about 4 miles away. In multiple instances when trying to accelerate from a stop the vehicle would not accelerate to more than 3-4 mph for multiple seconds leaving me stranded pulling out across traffic in the middle of an intersection waiting on the car to accelerate to a normal speed. Regardless of how much the accelerator was pressed the vehicle just rolled forward very, very slowly. Eventually, the vehicle lurched forward violently. Within this 3-4 mile drive this happened 3 times. The car remained jerky and unpredictable. I was fortunate to be driving at a low traffic time and made sure to allow extra space due to feeling the car acting slow after the CEL appeared. Had I treated it normally during normal commute hours, I would have been hit by oncoming traffic. I left the vehicle at the dealership and am waiting on response.

I have had 2 separate incidents with this tow bar system. Both resulted in catastrophic failure of the equipment. In Oct. 2024 while traveling in Atlanta Ga. a retaining pin came out of the tow bar on one side and resulted in the tow vehicle becoming uncontrollable. I convinced myself this was operator error. Since then, I replaced the damaged tow bar with the equivalent tow bar from Etrailer. Again on Fri [XXX] the same thing happened again with a lost pin resulting in uncontrollable vehicle while travelling through Shreveport La. I firmly believe that this tow bar system has some design flaws that allows the retaining pins to dislodge while experiencing rough road conditions. This system is designed to flat tow a vehicle behind an RV. The RV in question is a 2024 Jayco Seneca rated to tow up to 10,000lbs. The vehicle being towed is a 2021 Jeep Wrangler with an estimated weight of 4,500lbs. The tow bar system mentioned above is rated up to 6,000lbs. I have contacted Etrailer and they have offered a refund. I think this system needs to be reevaluated for its safety designs. On 9/29/24 with the rear window removed and the top in a closed position while driving highway speeds, the driver side rear window of my vehicle, without warning, flew off and moments later the rear driver side support flew off. The side windows of the vehicle had previously never been removed. It was a shocking experience that left me quite shaken, yet out of control to mitigate. Fortunately, there were no vehicles immediately behind me taking the impact of flying car parts, however, had there been this could have been deadly. The dealership will not be able to fully access the vehicle until 10/16/24. Upon speaking to the service manager they will take a quick look at it today (9/30)

Beginning September 30th I experienced the Death Wobble while driving on the highway. It cause violent shaking of my vehicle. It stopped when i slowed to about 50 MPH, each subsequent day after that it would start shaking when i reached a speed of over 60 MPH. It is currently with the dealer to be repaired. Issues include: steering shock has air, also there is an updated longer shoulder bolt that holds the dampner that should fix the steering wheel shake. They also discovered the shock absorbers leak shock oil. In addition, I have had to replace the auxiliary battery placed 2x since I have bought and it is already draining to low levels, which will prevent the electronic system to work less than 1 year after replacing the battery last. These all are defects to the design and should be recalled as they are safety issues.

My 2021 Jeep Wrangler suffered a power steering massive leak and gear box is defective. I only had 19,000 miles on it and the steering is very very loose and has always been loose since I purchased it. I have an appointment with Kings Crysler Jeep, Mason Ohio on September 24, 2024. The Head Service Advisor noted I was out of the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty by 2.5 months. He has NEVER heard this happening but now I think I might tow the vehicle to the dealership. No warning lights alerted me.

When driving above 30 MPH and going over a bump the car shakes and wobbles Violently feeling like the tires and steering wheel will fall off. This has been referred to as the “death wobble.” The car has some warranty remaining and is going in for repair with an authorized Jeep dealer.

Aug 5, 2024

Driving in electric mode around 40mph into a 55mph zone I could not accelerate and the jeep started to slow down. I put the hazards on and pulled over. Shut the jeep down and restarted. Putting hybrid mode and it seemed to work fine.

Jul 17, 2024

Hi, I am hereby, reporting that a clutch recall and software update was done on my 2021 wrangler jeep rubicon and the jeep would shut down when pressing the gas pedal and bogs down while driving. The jeep is still at the dealership since June 18 2024 and haven't heard anything from them so far and they won't give me a loaner vehicle. I don't have any other vehicle to drive. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Jul 10, 2024

- loss of power -lag in gas pedal response - struggles to go up hills - lunges forward at times - its a 2021 and starting to have corrosion issues

Jun 19, 2024

Stellantis just issued recall for backup camera - believe my Wrangler is experiencing the same issue - sometime the screen is black and other time the lines are missing when backing up. This is an intermittent issue. Was sure that my car would have been part of the recall when I saw info on news but was surprised it was not.

Jun 18, 2024

Jeep has failed to repair the outstanding recalls--one of which says my Jeep can spontaneously combust on/off, charging/not charging, driving/not driving. Jeep offered to buy back my Jeep and now has put it into processing hell, essentially reneging its offer to buy back my Jeep, which I have in writing.

I am concerned for the safety of my family with the recall of my jeep Wrangler. There is no remedy, is it safe to drive?

May 11, 2024

Drivers sun visor broke off while driving on November 2023 on a 2021 Jeep. I was driving at a residential area going 30mph. Dealership fixed it and assessed it as a safety issue. I brushed off the incident and considered it as normal wear and tear. Then in April 2024 the passenger sun visor broke off. I was on the interstate driving 70mph. I seldom carry passengers and when I do it's mostly after sunset. In both cases, we simply flipped visor down and it broke off. The roads were smooth both times. I went online to search for recalls but instead found many forums experiencing the same issue and suggesting to buy a 3rd party sun visor repair kit.

Apr 3, 2024

The clutch pressure plate was recalled in February 2023 and they still have not repaired. Seems unreasonable to have a recall for 13 months with no remedy

Apr 1, 2024

Jeep death wobble. Same problem as the 2018/2019 models. Over 45 mph and/or hit a bump and the Jeep wobbles uncontrollably and won’t stop until you slow to almost a stop. Incredibly dangerous for highway driving. There are no warning signs before it happens. This happened to me on a congested and fast moving highway.

Took my jeep Wrangler 4xe for the [XXX] recall fix to Cole Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership in San Luis Obispo California. My vehicle was returned to me in less than 4 hours of drop off with a depleted electric battery. The recall fix was not done correctly per Stellantis instructions. I’ve opened up a formal case with Jeep cares but no contact has been made. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

It has been about 4 months now, and Stalantis/Jeep still is unable to fix the issue. This means that for 4 months, I'm unable to use the vehicle for its intended purpose.

Feb 19, 2024

NHTSA Safety Issue ID: 23V787000 Open safety recall with NO FIX. Dealership will not give me a rental car. My car is at risk of starting on fire per the OPEN RECALL what has NO FIX. My family goes in this car and my son is secured in a child restraint seat. If it starts on fire I will not be able to save his life. I also cannot charge it and I bought the PHEV for fuel savings This recall has been open since November 2023 and it’s now 4 months later with NO FIX. My car has 20k miles still under the full factory bumper to bumper warranty and FCA is refusing to help me with a rental car and or car payments.

Feb 15, 2024

FROM JEEP - "An internally failed HV battery could lead to a vehicle fire with the ignition on or off. A vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and/or injury to persons outside the vehicle, as well as property damage. Customers are advised to refrain from recharging these vehicles and not to park them inside of buildings or structures, or near other vehicles until the vehicle has the final repair completed." First: I live in Philadelphia and DO NOT have the ability to park away from structures, buildings or other vehicles. The jeep 4xe is capable of lighting on fire at ANY POINT and there is nothing I can do to reduce my risk. The recall has been made public since Nov 22,2023 and there is still no lead on a fix nearly 3 months later. Second: These are plug in hybrid vehicles that are of premium cost for the plug in/electric feature. Losing the ability to charge them greatly reduces the use and value of the vehicle. This is by far the worst recall I have ever seen and am dumbfounded that I now sit here nearly 100 days after the recall with no further instruction or lead on a solution. Jeep should be forced to compensate and provide a reasonable alternative until the solution is established.

Feb 9, 2024

was driving on the freeway about 65mph-70mph when suddenly the Jeep started the shake tremendously. Luckily there was no traffic, and I was able to pull over and stop the car immediately. this is a big safety concern as it made it hard to control and traumatizing for the driver. cars should not do that. We are scheduling an appointment to ensure nothing is broken. No warnings were shown when the incident happened.

Feb 8, 2024

My 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4XE has been in for service four times. When the vehicle hits a bump at higher speeds ie the freeway, the steering wheel and entire car shake and rattle. The death wobble. I have to slow down or come to a complete stop. This is very dangerous on the freeway.

Feb 7, 2024

1.The vehicle shakes uncontrollably when hitting a bump on the highway at all times. Started with only every now and then. Currently I am unable to drive the vehicle on the highway due to safety concerns. If traveling 50 miles or more, steering wheel shakes and whole car shakes until I slow down. Vehicle is available to inspect and drive to confirm. 2.My safety and that of others is put at risk every time I hit a bump on the highway because I have to step on the brake in order to slow down enough in order to get it to stop. Several times I have had people behind me almost hit me, even when in the slow lane. 3.The vehicle was serviced by the Jeep dealership that I purchased it from I believe 3 times. Each time the problem was not correct even though they claimed they replaced a part. I had an independent mechanic (who we trust: this individual services the police car fleet for the department my husband works for). The repair lasted about a year. The shaking has gotten progressively worse over the last few months and now it always happens when any bump in the road is hit, or over a transition from the road onto an overpass, etc. 4.There are no warnings present.

Feb 7, 2024 Fire

Fire started about 15 minutes after parking the Jeep. Flames and smoke first appeared in engine compartment on passenger side where an electrical panel is located. Fire spread quickly and burnt out entire front of vehicle before the fire department was able to extinguish the flames. Vehicle is a total loss.

Traveling in Florida on [XXX] going approximately 65 mph the rear side plastic window on our soft top wrangler blew out without any warning. Other vehicles destroyed it. I luckily was able to pull over in the median to retrieve the damaged window. It was a very dangerous situation. I looked up wrangler forums and saw that many owners had the same problem. After reading the forums and talking to the service department at the dealership they don’t have a fix for the problem. My wife and I are hesitant to take our vehicle on any road over 50 mph. We purchased our 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4XE/4WD Hybrid in December of 2021. Since our purchase, we've received multiple recall notices which were since resolved. The volume of these recalls has been concerning to us, especially for such an expensive vehicle for which we had an expectation of quality. However, the most recent recall for the High Voltage Battery B9A/NHTSA 23V-787 is a catastrophic problem because we live in an attached townhome community. This exposes us personally to both catastrophic danger AND liability. Secondarily, we paid a hefty premium purchase price for a hybrid vehicle, a function that is lost to us now. We also incurred the considerable expense of installing a charger in our garage, for use with our Jeep Rubicon. We can no longer use this charging station.

Jan 27, 2024

The vehicle had a tendency to shut down while driving - the HV battery recall is a significant safety issue. It’s been 3 months since the recall and I’ve heard noting about the fix. The manufacturer instructed owners to not park newt other vehicles, in a garage, and not to charge the vehicle. That’s an unacceptable situation considering the long options for parking all Violate the manufacturers instructions,

Jan 24, 2024

My car has been recalled more times than actually driven when leased. The manufacturer offers no help or returns phone calls. The latest recall is extremely hazardous and dangerous. I am advised to not drive it, not charge it, and not park next to any structure. They do not have a remedy, and still want to continue charging me for the lease. I’ve complained numerous times about this car and have been ignored incessently.

Jan 13, 2024

The manufacturer has not developed a remedy for this important safety recall and I would like to request a repurchase of the vehicle.

- Auto stop / start "feature" failed at restarting the engine. - At an intersection, waiting to turn left and for a gap in oncoming traffic, the auto stop feature engaged. Upon an opportunity to proceed, the vehicle did not restart and left me stranded with traffic on coming. Luckily, the approaching vehicle was able to stop - else I would of been t-boned, hitting the passenger side with my wife in the seat. - The only warning was barely noticeable - just to "SHIFT TO PARK" - As a result, I will be purchasing an after market component to override this "feature" I will never be stranded or put in harms way for political reasons again.

My Jeep has been sitting in a parking lot at Bald Hill Jeep in Warwick, RI since 12/14, because of two issues, a transmission issue, for which parts have been on back order, and for a a safety recall of the battery, for which there is no solution for repair. This is a safety hazard to myself, others and property in general. The battery may catch fire whether it’s on of off. I will not put safety of myself, others, or property, at risk. I want a full refund of the purchase price of my vehicle so that I can buy a vehicle that is safe to drive. Even if they fix the transmission issue, the vehicle is unsafe to drive. I have been without a vehicle due to both issues since 12/14/23. I expect Jeep to pay for a rental vehicle until I get my full refund of the purchase price of my vehicle. Also, I found out about the recall when I went to the dealership after my car engine light went on and my vehicle stalled twice. I only received an official notice of the recall AFTER, as if Jeep is trying to hide the unsafe recall. I scanned the QR code to request a refund, however, there are many technical issues with the form that will not allow me to proceed with the submission. Another issue is that I have tried to contact Jeep via FCA online email form, such also does not work. It appears they want to avoid being contacted. Death wobble. At highway speeds, triggered by varying degrees of uneven spots on the road. Severe steering and control instability. Sometimes the vehicle shaking is extremely violent. Must coast down to a varying speed, sometimes down to 65-45mph for the wobble to cease. Happened multiple times, pre- and post-warranty.

Jan 3, 2024

Received the FCA recall B9a/NHTSA 23V-787 which states that a defect exists, the High Voltage (HV) battery on the vehicle may fail internally. the root cause is still being investigated and there is no fix at this time. It then states to refrain from recharging these vehicles and not to park them inside of buildings or Structures or near other vehicles. I have followed up with FCA and Jeep Care and have not heard back from them. ITs been several weeks. This should be a lemon and bought back as it can not be used as intended.

Dec 26, 2023

Driving down freeway or any road with bumps set my jeep into an uncontrollable bouncing. Today was the worst one so far. Very scary on freeway almost lost control had to drop way down in speed just to get control again. Took jeep into dealer service department right away. Waiting for service to follow-up with me.

Dec 20, 2023

If I am driving at any rate of speed over 50mph-- and drive over almost any road imperfection-- literally not even a pothole but a change from one section of road to another-- the car/ steering wheel starts shaking violently-- I have to drop down to about 30-35mph for it to resolve-- sometimes I have to come to a complete stop and start up again. Currently in shop.

Dec 18, 2023

At speeds about 35-45 MPH and again between 55-60 MPH vehicle steering will shake uncontrollably, with tire bounce. Requires sudden slowdowns in order to regain control. Dealership has replaced tie rods and steering stabilizer with no resolution. The shake has been present since purchasing from the dealership and has become progressively worse. Those driving behind report the appearance that "tires are going to come off".

Death Wobble on a 2021 My Mechanic is trying to fix it, and i was told that this is the first year of power assisted suspension (which he believes is causing the issues) The Death Wobble continues replaced tires and suspension parts and still has death wobble This is a KNOWN issue on Chrysler history, hence the settlement, but it didn't include my vehicle as it is a newer vehicle

Dec 7, 2023

My car started shaking out of control. I was on highway. Could not get over or stop for a bit. Could have been an accident. There was a car behind me and on the side of me. I have taken it to the Jeep Dealership. It has happened 3x without warning. Online this is called the "death wobble"

Death wobble at speeds over 60mph when hitting a bump or pothole

Oct 24, 2023

At 27,000 miles, bought brand new the “death wobble” started. I plan to take to dealership next week. I have no known if this issue but from research it’s a major issue in wranglers. This is a safety hazard. No one should be driving this vehicle with this issue. I bought brand new so I wouldn’t have to deal with issues such as this. I’ve never taken it off roading. Only highway.

Oct 21, 2023

I purchased the jeep brand new. At 14,000 miles it started to death wobble. Wheel, and entire front of jeep was shaking violently after hitting the slightest bump or dip in road (nothing outside of normal highway bumps). To stop the shaking I have to pull over and stop. The dealership keeps doing bandaids with dampner,, other stuff but keeps saying that's all corporate says to do. It was brought in multiple times with the fix maybe lasting several months. I am past my 36,000 warranty so now I have to pay for something that wasn't fixed when it was on warranty multiple times. Sime times they said they couldn't make it happen. Ridiculous that I had to stop multiple times driving home 30 mins on the turnpike. I have to keep it under 55mph now on a car bought new and and a problem that started early on. Really angry, completely unfair.

Sep 9, 2023

While driving the "Service Shifter" warning appeared in the center cluster notification area repeatedly. There was reduced vehicle performance and a continuous chime alert from the vehicle. Turned the vehicle off, waited several minutes and then turned the vehicle back on and the "Service Shifter" warning appeared again with the continuous chime audio alert.

Aug 12, 2023

I had the front wheels “wobble”. I had shocks replaced and a steering damper installed. The front end still bounces up and down, or wobbles, on every interstate overpass at interstate speeds.

Aug 8, 2023

Persistent death wobble vehicle is stock with no modifications. Driving at 65 on the highway a single small bump will cause violent shaking of the steering wheel and the front end. The shaking is aggressive enough to make you lose control of the vehicle and cause an accident. The vehicle has been for service multiple times for this issue. Every time the issue persist without resolve.

Jul 27, 2023

When cruise control is engaged at high speeds the Jeep has a serious and dangerous wobble Also, the fuel saver auto shut off and start no longer works. The dealership is claiming both issues are out of warranty and are my responsibility to fix. Finally the recall fix left me without my jeep for 6 1/2 weeks. That is not a timely repair. They were only willing to cover 5 days of a rental.

Jul 24, 2023

driving 75 down interstate and the vehicle just lost all power yet everything was "on" like normal and no check engine light- nothing. Would not allow me to accelerate or go over 45mph. It is like it would not shift gears. I stopped twice and turned the vehicle off but it did the same thing. Took it to the dealer and on day 2 (6 days later from initial incident) of them driving it, it did same with them but would not allow them to travel over 30 mph. They state it is not showing any codes and they don't know what is wrong. This is very dangerous while on a busy highway and going 75 to all the sudden lose power to your vehicle with no control and it quickly deaccelerates to 45pmh! I almost got hit multiple times as most people were driving 80mph plus! My vehicle is only 2 years old and less than 30k miles. Something is clearly wrong but not showing any codes so noone knows!

Clutch and Clutch pressure plate caused substantial heat damage to vehicle. See attached letter from State of Vermont Office of the Attorney General

Jun 7, 2023

On multiple occasions when driving at speeds over ~50 MPH, and hitting a bump or hole in the road (highways), a terrifying wobble occurs in the steering wheel. It is shaking so violently that it also feels as though the suspension, steering, and maybe other components are compromised. I am concerned that this is an issue that could lead to severe accident / injury / fatality. I am able to regain control of the vehicle after slowing and pulling off the road. I’m fortunate enough that these incidents have thus far happened during times of low traffic where I’ve been able to pull to the shoulder and regain control. I’m very concerned that it could happen when that’s not feasible or that the vehicle could lose control altogether at highway speed. I’m also incredibly concerned that Jeep dealers in my area weren’t able to accept my vehicle for weeks and wouldn’t offer any options for loaner / rental support. It feels to me like Jeep is accepting the risk that serious injury / accident / fatality could occur vs prioritizing consumer safety.

The Air Conditioner in my 2021 Jeep Wrangler with 15K miles caused two anaphylactic reactions to mold. On Wednesday May 31, 2023, immediately upon starting the Jeep engine and the AC fan starting I had a severe allergic reaction while driving that resulted in me having to pull over and administer my EPI pen and use my inhaler. At the time my soft top was off as were the windows and doors. On Sunday, June 1st, the next time I got into my Jeep to drive the same thing happened. This time the doors/windows and soft top were attached. The the only constant variables to the allergic reactions were my Jeep and running the air conditioning. Today ran my Jeep engine in my driveway (it is currently 83 degrees in St. Louis) and ran the air conditioner for 30 minutes and there was NO fluid under the Jeep from condensation from the AC running. I believe the AC condensate line is clogged, and that there is mold on the AC evaporator, both causing my entire AC system and entire vehicle to be contaminated with mold causing both my anaphylactic reactions. The mold allergy is life threatening to me. The mold is also life threatening to the general public if I am driving and unable to maintain control of the vehicle due to anaphylaxis caused by the mold in the vehicle and AC system. The risk I would need to assume, if I choose to drive the Jeep again is unacceptable - and I will not take that risk. Additionally, I will not cause or assume liability for any harm caused to the public that results from an anaphylactic reaction of increasing severity to mold while driving the Jeep, which would likely temporarily incapacitate me and render me unable to control the Jeep. I will not drive my Jeep until both issues have been repaired and the Jeep has had a mold inspection and appropriate mold remediation. The Jeep dealership cannot service the Jeep for over 30 days rendering me without a car.

When driving over 50mph or above at highway speeds. When vehicle hits uneven or rough roadway. Violent shaking happens immediately Jeep websites call it the Death Wobble where, everything shakes really bad and is very stressful and scary. When the vehicle slows down to under 30mph the violent shaking stops. We brought the vehicle to the Cocoa Fl, Boniface Hiers Chrysler and Jeep dealership to have repaired. They made some adjustments the problem stopped for about 8 months. It has started doing the Death Wobble again. Have to take the vehicle back in to the dealership again.

Mar 24, 2023

While driving the car randomly starts to violently shake (also known as death wobbles ). Steering is effected until car is almost brought to a complete stop. The car is very hard to keep on the road and is extremely dangerous. There was a recall and issued which I brought it into the dealership for but it has been 3 months and they still do not have the parts to fix it.

Mar 19, 2023

2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4xe has now lost total power twice and had extreme 'Death Wobble' issues. In 08/2021, at approx 1,400 miles, the vehicle lost all power and control on the highway while going speed limit at 70 mph. The screen reported issue with electronic stability control system. It was a dangerous situation trying to move to the side of the highway with no power nor power steering. Once on the side, multiple warning lights were on and vehicle would not start but control lights remained on. I called the dealership/service department of South Point Dodge and their recommendation was to disconnect the battery connection to reset. I was driving from Houston so I was desperate to get the car to start as my family was waiting outside of the car on the highway as well. I reconnected battery terminal and was able to restart the vehicle. At around 12k miles, I started experiencing extreme Jeep Wobble aka 'Death Wobble.' This occurred often while doing speed limit between 55-65 mph/higher on the highway and if vehicle hit a bump. The only way to stop the shaking was to slow down by braking to approximately 35-40 mph. In 02/2023, dealer changed out the 'dampners' and did update for electrical recall. On 03/14/2023, at approx 23k miles, the vehicle again lost complete power, would not restart and multiple warning lights came on. Control panel reported Electronic Stability Control Issue, Fuel Door Open when it physically was not, Vehicle in Drive while physically in park. Vehicle would not restart. Disconnected the battery terminal but this did not correct the issue. Vehicle was manually put into neutral to put onto tow truck. This vehicle has caused several life threatening concerns. Despite the recall fixes, the same issues continue to be present and long term solution is not available at this time. Had I known this Jeep would have such a dangerous electrical system that cannot be fixed, I wouldn't have purchased such an expensive, dangerous, worthless car.

Feb 22, 2023

While driving on the highway I drove over a bridge bump and the truck started to wobble uncontrollably forcing me to slow down to 30 miles per hour before it stopped. This happened two times. We brought it to the dealership who replaced the steering damper and it happened again so they adjusted the camber of the alignment and said it should fix the issue. I have an email from the dealership where we purchased the jeep and the sales manager emailed us back indicating that what the dealership did to correct the issue is correct, but that it is not a permanent fix and that they know of the issue and are not sure how to correct it.

Feb 22, 2023

My Jeep steering is extremely loose, and very difficult to keep between the lines on the road. If the wind is blowing, it is nearly impossible. My biggest concern however, is the wobble that occurs when on the expressway. This has now happened to me five times while traveling on the expressway at around 70-75 miles per hour. The Jeep begins to wobble back and forth and you literally loose all control of steering. The only way to get it to stop is to push on the brakes and decelerate, but it is terrifying.

Jan 31, 2023

On Jan. 27, 2023, I was driving my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (31,440 miles on the odometer) on the interstate, going about 65-70 mph in high volume traffic. Suddenly my right front tire started wobbling like it was going to fall off! I have never experienced anything like this. I was extremely frightened, fearing I might have a wreck or cause someone else to wreck if control of my Jeep were lost. My heart beat sped up, my hands clinched the steering wheel. I was able to slow down and the wobble went away but my anxiety did not go away. It happened about 4 more times that day on the interstate. I was traveling and concerned about my safety and that of others. I was also concerned about what was happening with my Jeep, how could I fix it, COULD it be fixed, and how was I going to pay for it. I thought the front end of my Jeep needed to be re-aligned so I took it to the dealership I bought it from, they inspected it and said it did not alignment. Said the Jeep had developed a "wobble." I was told that parts to fix this issue were not available in the U.S. and they had no ETA on when/if a part would be available. They took my phone number and said they would call if something changed. Now I have a Jeep that I am afraid of - actually terrified of. I only drive on the city streets and stay away from the interstate. My life has been limited in so many way because of this issue. I was not issued any paperwork on this problem.

Jan 23, 2023

After entering the highway and going 60MPH+ the vehicle began shaking like crazy. I thought maybe it was road construction causing the shaking. I switched lanes but the shaking continued. I slowed down and it stopped. I sped back up again over 60MPH and it continued. The seat belt locked so that I could barely move. After a search online, this is being categorized as “death wobble” and it’s stated it occurs once the car has a certain amount of miles. Despite this, I don’t see a recall for it. Since this happens only at a high rate of speed, it seems very unsafe and people should be warned.

Took 2021 Jeep wrangler rubicon 4xe for loss of motive power to victorville jeep California, dealer performed recall when I picked the vehicle I received my vehicle with a check engine light which was bot present at moment of dealership taking vehicle in. Was told due to software update per recall instructions, caused a hybrid module to fail, I was the part was in back order with out a shipping date. Noticed the radio had reset the setting and notified dealership that the controls to adjust the bass and treble were not working properly. Now they called me stating that the radio has some type of noise coming from it and it has to do something with a software update and that they have to replace the subwoofer because it blown. Dealership has had the vehicle since Jan 06th and today is Jan 21 and the new subwoofer won't be until Jan 27th. Please help.

Jeep has a seriously dangerous issue when you hit a bump on the highway, other online call it a “death wobble”, extremely dangerous, started happened around 21000 miles on ours. Only way to get it to stop shaken is to stop the vehicle. I have several videos of this occurring and would be happy to send them, this app won’t allow videos to be uploaded. I called the dealer to have the issue looked at, no recall has been issued yet according to our dealer.

Dec 19, 2022

I am now on my 4th new windshield. I've owned my Jeep for less than 2 years, the last two windshields had to be replaced within 3 months of each other. I understand that Jeeps have a reputation for windows easily cracking, but the manner in which they crack and spread is terrifying. It will start as a small chip and then quickly escalate to a spider web crack that rapidly expands in length. A lot of times this happens on a highway (chip of rock will hit the windshield or edge of it) and as I'm driving to get where I need to go, the crack just crawls across - seems very dangerous. Typically I am not in a situation where I can stop - just need to head home and then call for a replacement.

While driving down the highway, my Jeep started to violently jump. I had to completely come to a stop in the middle of the highway before my jeep would stop jumping. I was going about 65 in heavy traffic which was very scary.

I have a 2021 Jeep 4xe that suddenly stopped traveling 50-60 mph. I lost power, power steering, breaks and acceleration all at once on a busy multi lane road. I had more than half a tank or gas and 83% battery and had an oil change maybe 1000 miles ago. My car went from high speed to stopped in a matter of 3 seconds giving me no warning lights until it happened. I managed to use the downhill I was on and all the arm power I had to get to a side street. After 15 mins it started working again, but I had tt towed to a dealership to check out. It shows on here I have the odometer recall outstanding, but I actually have that one completed. I lost my odometer around 13000 miles driven and went approx 3 months without one as the dealerships had no idea how to fix or order the part. I was driving down the freeway, came upon traffic which caused me to come to a stop. When the traffic cleared and I put my foot on the gas, the jeep refused to go forward and stalled out. I had just enough power to get to a safe area on the side of the freeway. My jeep flashed the D on the gear shifter and I got a notification to put the car in "park." On the control panel screen it showed "check charging system" and "check transmission." It also showed a message showing blind spot alert was disabled and the battery light. I had nearly a full tank of gas when this happened and at least 34% of electric left to drive on electric mode when this occurred. My Uconnect app showed the message "charging fault error has occurred" when this happened on the freeway.

mY jEEP WRANGLER HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT A TOTAL OF 4 TIMES FOR SEVERE SHAKING PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING WHEEL COMPONENT MY CAR SHAKES UNCONTROLLABLY WHEN the car reaches or goes OVER 40 MILES AN HOUR. The whole vehicle shakes including tires and wheels, it has gotten to the point where shaking will not stop at all unless I bring the car to a complete stop. they have made zero attempts to diagnose the car the service department does not even test drive the vehicle at all the miles in when taken to the dealership are the same miles out when I pick up the car I'm terrified I'm going to eventually get into an accident I have no other choice but to drive the car as is my only means of transportation. The fourth repair didn't happen until 6.13.2022 I waited on a part for three months. the part was ordered back on 3.22.2022 an

While driving my vehicle and going about 30-40mph, the dashboard began flashing and telling me there was a charging system failure. At that point I could no longer accelerate and the "D" light on the gear shift was blinking. After putting the car in park, it would not allow me to change the shift gear to a different position. The Jeep app on my phone alerted me that my vehicle could not charge which was strange because I was driving and not charging at all. I had to pull over in the middle of a very busy intersection and turn off my car and turn it back on just to get it going again. When I turned it on, everything was back to normal and I was able to drive. This is very dangerous and luckily I was not on the highway and going 60mph when this happened or it could have been catastrophic.

4 times I have started my 2021 Jeep 4xe and the engine light came on and wouldn’t shift out of park. It would take around 10 minutes and numerous attempts turning it off and on to get it to shift out of park. Once while driving on the highway the Jeep shutdown at 60 mph slowly down to 30 mph suddenly. There was a warning on the dash that said to put the car in park and then odd. I pulled over to the side of the road to have the Jeep locked in park once shut the system off. Another time after having gotten it back from the service department at the dealership for the lock up issue, the Jeep wouldn’t accelerate higher than 45 mph.

There is an option to engage "Full Regen Mode" to recharge the battery while driving in Hybrid mode. As I was driving with this on, i took my foot off the accelerator, so the vehicle slowed down under "Full Regen Mode" as it is supposed to. But then the front tires went over a pothole/break in the road, and the vehicle sped up instantly. This happened two more times, and in both instances the vehicle sped up on its own when it encountered a break in the road while on "Full Regen Mode" with my foot off of the accelerator. The third time was in a parking lot of a strip mall, where I would have crashed into the car in front of me if my foot was not already hovering over the brake pedal. The Advance Collision Warning system also went off, scaring everyone nearby, and I managed to brake hard. Now I have stopped using the "Full Regen Mode" option while driving in Hybrid mode.

Could not start my 2021 jeep only 900 miles on it and said charging fault and then started an hour later but then later on that day Was driving with my child and dead stop in middle of turnpike just shut off. Thank god it turned he Ck on and made it home. Now dealership is saying they can look at it within two to four weeks. This is a terrible.

As I was driving my vehicle, the dashboard displayed 2 warning signs that stated “service shifter” and “service shifter stop safely shut off engine to engage park”. This put my safety at risk because the vehicle hesitated even when attempting to pull over and shift the vehicle into park. While driving, the vehicle’s transmission had jerking movements that made it difficult to complete this task. The problem has not be confirmed by the auto maker. The vehicle has not been inspected. There were no warning lamps or messages to my Uconnect app about the status of the vehicle prior to the incident. Symptoms include delays in accelerating and the vehicle struggling to switch between gears. These problems first appeared approximately 1 month ago.

My Jeep, with less than 12,000 miles on it, had a catastrophic failure of the clutch pressure plate, which blew the clutch and tore a hole through the top of the bell housing, cutting the electrical wiring and coolant line. Car towed to dealer I originally purchased the Jeep from. My Jeep VIN was not included in the safety recall notice issued in February 2021, however, my Jeep's software was updated on the first service appointment in March 2021. This software update did not prevent the pressure plate from malfunctioning. The dealer is claiming this is a clutch failure due to driver error and is not acknowledging the other damage done to the engine and refuses to make good on their product failure.

I was driving down the highway when the engine on my Wrangler 4xe suddenly shut off forcing me to cut off traffic to get to the shoulder. Numerous error messages were displaying but I did not have time to see them all. Final message I could see was "Charging System Error". After turning the Jeep off then back one the problem cleared. I suspect this was caused by the Adaptive Cruise Control system. It had started to brake hard for a car not actually in my lane. At the same moment people were pulling in behind me to move over for a police car on the shoulder. The Adaptive Cruise Control started what was a hard brake check on this traffic, so I overrode it by pressing on the accelerator, at which point it died. At the dealer they determined from the codes that the transmission control unit had shut off the engine control unit. Otherwise nothing could be determined as being wrong with the vehicle. Seeing all the other complaints of similar incidents involving Wranglers I think there is bad software code in the vehicle's control systems.

Description: - Recurring on multiple occasions - Multiple lights on the dash come on. They may flash or persist - i.e. engine light, turtle light, crash avoidance light, among others. - The vehicle loses power (it’s a hybrid). This includes the motor and the engine. - The steering is compromised. You cannot steer the vehicle very well during this loss of power. - The vehicle usually will not restart and must be towed in or, in some cases, the battery can be disconnected causing the vehicle to reset and allowing it to begin operating again. This solution can work for a several power cycles or none at all. - When this happens, and you attempt to restart the vehicle sometimes when the power returns you are unable to tell if the vehicle is in neutral, drive, reverse, park, etc. - I experienced a case where the vehicle was in the Run position and the power windows would not open. When it was in the Off position, the windows would open. Perhaps this is intended behavior. - The seatbelt light will stay on even though all passengers in the vehicle are buckled in. It is unclear if this is part of the same issue, but it seems to be. - Systems compromised: Steering, braking, power/engine, seatbelts, etc. Examples of Incidents: - Driving in neighborhood (Safe Location) - Driving at highway speed (Unsafe Occurrence) - Driving on an off-road trail (thankfully with others) (Unsafe Occurrence) - Driving at highway speed - We almost crashed twice trying to get off the hwy. (Unsafe Occurrence) Compounding Safety Issues: - Roadside Assistance didn’t show up after ~7 hours waiting. - FCA’s utter confidence in the repair process is scary to me. - Confidence apparently based on recent software updates to the system, which was installed in a prior visit. The FCA rep wasn’t initially aware the vehicle was back in for service 2 days after installing the latest firmware. - Lack of ability to update software OTA (over the air).

Unknown. Car came to a sudden stop while driving and the lights beside the gear started flashing. A message on the dashboard popped up that said for me to put the car in park and then select my desired gear. Major safety concern for a car to just shut down for no reason while driving down the street. Luckily I was on a back road with little traffic. Afraid to drive the car on major highways or at higher rates of speed where this malfunction could cause a serious accident.

Vehicle locked up, no steering, no braking or control while traveling at 40mph nearly causing an accident. Interface said Anti Theft Mode engaged, enter code. This nearly caused a crash and the vehicle was immobilized and had to be towed to dealership. Vehicle has less than 3000 miles on the odometer. This presented a significant safety risk to driver, passengers and other motorists.

On Monday the Wrangler began to have electrical problems, the sound system cut off and then the climate control quit working. The car was running rough, jerky like an acceleration problem. By Tuesday afternoon it would not start right off. When I got it to start the same problems happened with the radio, climate control, and the screen cut off. I tried to put the car in reverse but the P would only flash. I attempted to turn the car off, it would not turn off until I cycled through all of the buttons. I attempted to restart the car and went through the above mentioned cycle twice more. I called the salesman who sold the car to me two days before, he told me to call Chrysler Roadside. The tow truck operator came out on Wednesday morning.  At that time the car would start but not go into neutral.  The tow truck driver attempted to override the safety feature and was not able to.  The car was drug onto the roll back in park. On Wednesday afternoon I spoke with the dealer mechanic who said that a squirrel or rat had built a nest in the engine and chewed through the negative cable.  He mentioned foam being all over the place. The story had minor changes after I went to the dealership on Thursday. After some research I wonder if that was the problem or if they are trying to get out of warranty repairs the are not yet able to diagnose. I am refusing to take delivery of the vehicle until I am assured that myself and family are safe.

The backup camera turns off completely and the line marks for the parking spot disappears. According to the dealership this is a manufacturer defect that the manufacturer is aware of but haven't taken any actions. It is a dangerous situation as the backup camera is standard feature in all cars and people rely on the camera when backing up the vehicle.

I have a brand new 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, which is a hybrid and electric vehicle, which gives about 30 miles on a full battery charge. Since the electric mode distance is limited, the car has a hybrid and gas-only mode that runs on gas for when the battery needs a charge after 30 miles. The following problem occurred over 10 times in a 2 day timeframe: The vehicle gave a dashboard warning that stated "service charging system" and "service transmission" plus my Jeep app gave a message "a charge fault has occurred." Within 10 seconds, the entire car shut off. At the time, I was going 60 mph on a freeway. This nearly caused a 10-car pile up, but I was fortunately able to get onto the shoulder despite the entire electrical system shutting down. I was lucky, because after 10 seconds, the car came to an immediate stop and I could not move it at all. At the time, I had two-thirds full tank of gas. I was able to start the engine about 15 minutes later. Shortly thereafter, the same problem occurred again after about 5 minutes of driving. This sequence repeated itself over 10 times until I was able to get towed to a nearby dealership. I was advised that the battery needed to be charged and this problem would not occur. This is an unacceptable explanation, since this vehicle has a gas-only mode to account for the 30 mile electrical battery distance. The following day, I got a full charge, but the problem happened again on the freeway, this time with 20% battery remaining and a one-half tank of gas. I had to get towed for the second time in two days. This is a very dangerous problem. This car should be recalled. Someone could have died due to the car completely shutting off while on a freeway and coming to a total half after only 10 seconds. The Jeep 4xe online forum reports 10 separate episodes of the same problem. I have attached a pdf of the formum to prove this is a recurrent issue. I am certain that someone will suffer a fatality from this recurrent problem.

While driving on the freeway at 70mph the car threw an charge error transmission error and the motor completely shut off. I was left coasting on a busy Bay area freeway with no running engine. I almost got rear ended twice while trying to pull off to the side of the road. I came to a stop and after 5min the car started up and no error lights showed up.

WITHIN A FEW DAYS OF BUYING IT BRAND NEW OFF THE LOT THE BACK UP CAMERA QUIT DISPLAYING THE LINE ASSIST INTERMITTENTLY WHEN VEHICLE IS PLACED IN REVERSE. WE HAD IT RESET AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE ISSUE CONTINUED. A FEW WEEKS LATER THE BACK UP CAMERA IS NOW FAILING TO DISPLAY ANY PICTURE AND APPEARS AS A BLACK SCREEN WHEN VEHICLE IS IN REVERSE. THIS HAPPENS WHEN VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND PUT INTO REVERSE TO BACK UP. IT CONTINUES EVEN IF YOU ATTEMPT TO PUT IT BACK IN PARK AND THEN REVERSE AGAIN.

MY 2021 JEEP WRANGLER UNLIMITED SAHARA'S BACK UP CAMERA FAILED WITHIN 3 WEEKS OF MY PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW. IT WAS IN THE SHOP FOR TWO WEEKS AS THEY COULDNT RECREATE THE PROBLEM AS THE BACK UP CAMERA WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. I PROVED PICTURES OF THE BLANK SCREEN WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE. THEY DECIDED TO REPLACE IT EVEN THOUGH THEY SAY JEEP WONT REPLACE ANYTHING UNLESS THEY CAN RECREATE. ON SATURDAY MARCH 27TH WHEN I WENT TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE THE NEW BACK UP CAMERA FAILED TO WORK AGAIN. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON OCCURRENCE THAT I AM READING ON JEEP FORUMS, YET THE DEALERS CAN NEVER RECREATE THE ISSUE, AND WHEN THEY SAY THEY FIXED SOMETHING IT HAPPENS AGAIN. THE BACK UP CAMERA SHOULD WORK 100% OF THE TIME, NOT INTERMITTENTLY. THIS IS A STANDARD FEATURE ON ALL NEW CARS IN THE USA. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO NOT HAVE A RELIABLE BACK UP CAMERA. ON TOP OF THIS ISSUE MY SIRIUS XM IS INTERMITTENT AS WELL SKIPPING THE SOUND ABOUT EVERY 10 SECONDS OR SO. THESE ISSUES OCCUR WHEN MOVING ON THE HIGHWAY AS WELL AS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY.
