My vehicle is affected by a serious safety defect involving engine fire risk. FCA US LLC Stellantis has issued a safety recall 78C/NHTSA 25V-766 for this condition and has publicly stated that the remedy for this condition is not currently available. I have been instructed to park outside and limit the use of the vehicle. This defect presents an unreasonable risk of fire and is unsafe and unreliable. A loss of drive power may result in a vehicle crash without prior warning. This defect poses a substantial impairment of use, value, and safety. This defect poses a substantial danger to life, health, and property. This defect constitutes a serious safety hazard, and FCA US LLC Stellantis has failed to provide a timely or effective repair remedy. Because no repair is currently available, the vehicle is unsafe to operate. Under Texas law, a manufacturer is not permitted unlimited time to develop a repair when a vehicle presents a dangerous condition. I have sent a demand letter on January 8, 2026 to FCA US LLC Stellantis, certified mail return receipt of my demand to buyback the vehicle at the paid purchase price, including sales tax, finance charges, down payment, registration fees, etc.

My vehicle is unsafe to drive. Recall 1 The battery can go on fire/explode. Recall 2 The engine can just cut out - complete loss of power at any time resulting in a vehicle crash with no warning. Recall 3 Engine Fires I keep getting recalls and there are no estimated dates for repairs.

THIS IS A LEASED VEHICLE THAT HAS HAD 3 RECALLS : 2 RECALLS , THAT AFTER MONTHS OF WAITING, COULD BE SCHEDULE FOR A POTENTIAL FIX (DONE ON 12/31). THERE IS 1 THAT STILL HAS NO FIX. THESE ARE HIGHLY DANGERS RISKS (FIRES, EXPLOSIONS, COMPLETE SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING, ETC) THIS IS MY FAMILY VEHICLE, CHILDREN ARE IN THIS CAR. I AM CURRENTLY PAYING WELL MORE THAN THE CAR IS VALUED AT SINCE IT DEPRICIATED DO TO RISKS OF SAFTY, AND I AM RISKING MY CHILDREN'S AND MY OWN LIFE BELIEVING THAT THERE WILL BE A FIX AND I DONT EXPLODE TAKING THEM TO SCHOOL OR MYSELF TO WORK. THIS VEHICLE HAS SHUT DOWN ON ME TWICE IN 8 WEEKS BEFORE HAVING THE RECALLS THAT COULD BE DONE SCHEDULED. IT JUST DIES NO INTERIOR LIGHTS, NO WAY TO SHIFT IT OUT OF GEAR TO GET IT TO SAFE PLACE TO BE IN A DEAD VEHICLE. SINCE HAVING THE 2 RECALLS AND THE 12V LOOKED AT IT HAS BEEN RUNNING IN FORM MODE..NOT WHY YOU PURCHASE A HYBRID. JEEP CUSTOMER CARE IS A JOKE AND STALLANTIS (ALSO MY LEASING COMPANY) WILL ONLY RETUNS MY CALLS IF I “FORGET” TO MAKE PAYMENT BY THE 10TH OF THE MONTH…FINALLY FIGURED THAT OUT. MY GUESS IS A LEMON LAW ATTORNEY MAY BE THE ONLY WAY TO PROTECT MY FAMILY, SINCE THE ONLY ONES WHO ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT THE CONCERS AND SAFTY OF MYSELF AND MY CHHILDRENS ARE THE DEALERSHIP. THIS WAS MY FAMILIES 5TH JEEP AND COULD POSSIBLLY BE OUR LAST

While driving, the vehicle lost all propulsion and came to a stop. Fortunately my wife was able to pull to the side of the road safely. It has not been inspected because we believe it falls within the A7C recall for which there is no current remedy.

THREE urgent fire risk/catastrophic recalls with no remedy avail. Urged not safe to drive or charge due to fire risk. Urged to park away from buildings due to fire risk. Cannot schedule an appointment for repair as no remedy is avail. Considering, vehicle is not serviceable since September 2025. Requesting a buyback as I need a reliable and safe vehicle ASAP. Currently posing a catastrophic risk to my family, neighbors and employer/co-workers as this is my only means of transportation. Unsafe and hazardous. I purchased this vehicle back in August 2024, currently only has 17,000 miles and all services are UTD minus the recalls considering no remedy avail.

When driving in the highway 101, the car lost its power, stopping abruptly in the highway lane, which almost cause a serious car crash. this happen twice in a span of 20 min. Based on the recalls that my car has, it can be caused by Manufacturer Recall Number78C (NHTSA Recall Number25V-766), or Manufacturer Recall NumberA7C (NHTSA Recall Number25V-710)

i purchased this certified preowned vehicle in the month of 10/2025 from manahwkin jeep. ii drove the vehicle aproximately 1000 mile since i purchased it. i contacted the dealership that the vehicle is hybrid battery not staying charged and that the motor is stalling and losing power when i drive it along with abnormal sounds from the engine . i had to pull over and recycle the ignition numerous times . when i checked the oil i noticed that there was a dirt /sandy substance on the dipstick, the service advisor told me this is normal and i believe is abnormal . i feel my issues that i am experiencing are consistent with the current recalls 68c and 78c . i feel that the dealership is giving me the runaround

Recall 78C on my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe poses an imminent threat. Jeep has no current fix for the issue. Jeep is providing no buyback options or trade-in assistance to get out from under the vehicle. I was told by Stellantis not to drive the vehicle and that I was to fully front the cost of a rental (and be reimbursed later) while still paying a car payment for a vehicle they said not to drive. I am now saddled with a dangerous vehicle I can not trade in and Jeep is providing no assistance or fix for the 78C recall.

Dec 29, 2025

My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is affected by multiple active safety recalls, including recall 25V-741 related to a high-voltage battery fire risk, recall 25V-710 involving software issues that may cause loss of propulsion, and recall 25V-766 concerning potential engine contamination from casting sand that could result in engine failure. These defects place my safety and the safety of others at risk due to the possibility of sudden loss of power, vehicle immobilization, or fire, including while the vehicle is parked. The vehicle has not experienced a fire or complete failure to date; however, the recalls have been confirmed by the manufacturer and dealer, and I have been informed that no permanent remedy is currently available, with estimates extending into 2026. I have received recall notifications and operational guidance, including limiting battery charging and taking safety precautions, which restrict normal use of the vehicle. No warning lights or fault messages have occurred beyond standard recall notifications, and the vehicle remains available for inspection upon request.

Dec 29, 2025

This vehicle had multiple issues as a 1 year old vehicle. Shaking in the front end on the highway, leading to replacing front sway bar and dampeners. Now multiple fire hazard recalls for the battery and for engine while driving, charging, and just being parked. The vehicle has shut off while driving placing my life and others at risk in the road. No warning lights prior to any of these issues.

Dec 27, 2025

My vehicle is subject to two open safety recalls: 68C (PHEV High Voltage Battery) and 78C (PHEV 2.0L Engine Fire / Loss of Propulsion). Recall 78C currently has no available remedy and involves risk of engine fire and sudden loss of propulsion without warning. The manufacturer has issued guidance advising modified use and safety precautions, including parking the vehicle outside and avoiding certain operating conditions. Based on these warnings and the lack of a remedy, I do not feel safe operating or using the vehicle as intended. I contacted Jeep/Stellantis Recall Customer Care multiple times and was assigned a case number. However, no loaner vehicle or transportation assistance has been provided, my assigned case manager and supervisor did not follow up, and my local Jeep dealer has not contacted me to schedule service or provide alternatives. Due to the unresolved safety recall, lack of remedy, and lack of manufacturer follow-through, I am unable to safely use the vehicle.

Dec 27, 2025

1. Hybrid battery fire hazard – presents a real risk of fire while the vehicle is parked or in operation. 2.Engine debris from factory build – the engine contains debris from the manufacturing process, creating a risk of engine failure or further damage. I’ve reached out to dealership and Stellantis they offered no resolution but say they are “working on it.” No timeline given when resolution will be available while I’m still making my monthly lease payments on a defective, hazardous vehicle. Dealership said no resolution from Stellantis, Stellantis telling me to reach out to Jeep..

Dec 26, 2025

I have experienced TPSM issues that suddenly "resolve" by itself when taken to the dealership. On top of this, I also experience electrical issues from time to time such as audio from the radio not working, the screen glitching or not turning on, and other electrical issues. The worst issue is that I have a serious recall that can't be fixed due to parts not being available. I didn't purchase a brand new 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe so that I could have these issues. I should not have to worry about my jeep catching fire or parking it away from my home or other vehicles. You're welcome to inspect everything.

Dec 21, 2025

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to formally file a safety complaint regarding unresolved factory recalls on my Jeep vehicle, for which I have already received official recall notifications from the manufacturer. Upon receiving the recall notices, I promptly contacted and visited an authorized Jeep service center to have the required repairs completed. However, I was informed that the necessary replacement parts are currently unavailable and that the service center is unable to perform the recall repairs until approximately February. One of the recalls specifically involves the electric charging system and warns of a potential fire risk. Being informed that this condition could result in the vehicle catching fire, yet being unable to have the issue remedied for several months due to part unavailability, is extremely concerning. Despite the seriousness of the safety risk outlined in the recall notice, I have been advised that there is no interim fix, mitigation, or alternative remedy available at this time. This situation places me in a difficult and unsafe position, as I am expected to continue operating a vehicle that the manufacturer has already acknowledged may pose a fire hazard. The uncertainty around how to safely use or store the vehicle during this period has caused significant concern for my personal safety and that of others. I am submitting this complaint to request NHTSA’s review of this matter, particularly regarding: * The delay between recall notification and availability of repair parts * The adequacy of interim safety guidance provided to vehicle owners * The potential risk posed to consumers who are unable to have critical safety recalls addressed in a timely manner Thank you for your attention to this matter. I appreciate NHTSA’s role in ensuring vehicle safety and protecting consumers, and I hope this issue can be reviewed to prevent potential harm.

Dec 21, 2025

There are currently 3 safety recalls; 2 with no remedies or repairs. Both recalls explain there is an imminent risk of safety. 1 recall has had no solution for over 60 days. I can’t use my vehicle as intended as it is recommended not to charge the battery.

Dec 20, 2025

The vehicle is subject to three critical safety recalls with no available remedy: 25V-741 (High-Voltage Battery Fire), 25V-766 (Engine Sand Contamination/Fire), and 25V-710 (Software Loss of Power). Following manufacturer instructions, I have been forced to park the vehicle outdoors away from structures due to fire risk and refrain from charging. For Recall 25V-766, a 'Do Not Drive' advisory has been issued due to the risk of catastrophic engine failure or compartment fire. The vehicle is currently inoperable and unusable as a hybrid. I have presented the vehicle to an authorized dealer, who confirmed that no parts or repairs exist. I have suffered a total loss of use for 42 days. This is a severe fire and crash risk with no timeline for repair.

Dec 19, 2025

My vehicle currently has two active manufacturer recalls involving potential fire risk and the possibility of bodily harm. These recalls have been acknowledged by Jeep/Stellantis; however, no effective remedy or repair has been provided to date. Despite the seriousness of these safety risks, Jeep Customer Care has offered no interim solution, no loaner or replacement vehicle, and no alternative transportation while the recalls remain unresolved. As a result, my family and I are placed in an unacceptable position of either continuing to operate a vehicle with known safety hazards or being left without safe transportation. Jeep has failed to provide a reasonable safety remedy after acknowledging these defects. In my view, this represents a failure to adequately protect consumers once a safety risk has been identified. I am submitting this complaint to document the risk and the manufacturer’s lack of action.

Dec 18, 2025

My jeep seized in the middle of an intersection while I was doing approximately 30 mph, the jeep immediately flung to a complete stop from 30 to 0 and caught fire. The dealership had it over a week and told me the modular blew randomly. This happened in May and I purchased it in April. Since there is many recalls with no remedy, I am scared every time I am on the highway doing around 65mph because if it happened at that speed I am sure we would not survive. I have spoken to the dealer regarding all of these dangerous recalls and issues with no remedy and they referred me to the leasing company. I asked them to take the lease back because I do not think I should have to pay for a car that is not sellable or able to be fixed and they denied taking the lease back. My Wife and I both have the same issue with our Jeeps with no solution provided. I feel this needs to be addressed for the safety of families that are now stuck paying for undrivable vehicles that could be a potential bomb or accident that takes human lives at any given moment. I feel the manufacturer should buy back leases that are unsafe as it should void the lease contract. I know I did not sign up to drive a hazard on the roads or the ability to park in my garage or near my home.

Dec 18, 2025

12-3 Called Chrysler regarding recalls, vehicle was in shop in July for the charging system being warm to touch, not charging vehicle. Vehicle currently makes a “gurgling” sound while idling. Engine running “loud”. Requested to have the vehicle turned back into leasing company due to it being a lemon considering there is no fix for the recall and it is not safe to drive or house. Told case would be sent to resolution team, takes 7 days. 12/10 called and was told it was in resolution and would be 48-72 hours called again 12/18 and told it would be 12/22. Basically no one is doing anything.

Dec 17, 2025

Multiple times when driving, at interstate speeds and highway speeds I have a full loss of power, requiring me to pull to the side of the road and power off the car and power it back on. Turtle mode gets activated not allowing me to go more than 5mph. Not safe at all especially when children are in the car. I have had the dealer look at this multiple times and they continue to say they have updated the system. I cannot imagine a software update will fix the vehicle intermittently losing power. I am a Jeep brand enthusiast but Stellantis missed the boat on this car. They have created an unsafe, unreliable vehicle that is putting my family at risk every time I drive it. Last night I was offered $100 because the EV component shouldn’t be used now, I can’t park it inside, and can’t charge it. It really is almost bait and switch that I bought a vehicle that is not able to be used in the manner it was sold to me for.

Dec 17, 2025

My vehicle is affected by multiple safety recalls related to the high-voltage battery / charging system. The recall instructions include safety restrictions such as not parking near structures/buildings and limiting/avoiding charging (or following specific charging precautions) due to a potential safety hazard (including fire risk). Despite these warnings, there is no available remedy/repair at this time, and an authorized dealer has confirmed the recalls apply but cannot complete the recall repairs. Separately (and repeatedly), while driving the vehicle has displayed a “STOP SAFELY / PULL OVER” warning message multiple times. Each time this occurs I must pull over immediately due to concern for a sudden loss of propulsion or unsafe operation in traffic. This creates a significant safety risk to me and others because it can occur unexpectedly and could lead to a crash, loss of power, or being stranded in an unsafe location. The condition has been reproduced multiple times. The vehicle is available for inspection. The exact root cause is UNKNOWN at this time, and I have not received a permanent fix.

Dec 15, 2025

Vehicle was being driven 55 mph on a two lane highway when it became completely immobile with every light including check engine light lit. A red turtle also appeared on the screen to indicate limp mode and vehicle wouldn’t go over 5 mph and eventually became completely disabled. The dealership attributed the issue to a 12V battery which is dangerous because an accident could easily have happen with the sudden loss of power. With the 68C and 78C major recalls the 4XEs should be a mandatory buyback. They are an overly dangerous vehicle that fit a lemon perfectly. Stellantis obviously have no idea how to fix the dangerous fire issue with 68C. They have tried 3 times and failed. What makes this any different? When is the NHTSA actually going to step in and force them? Now 78C and an engine replacement due to fires . The dealerships and Jeep have no idea. They said it could be years. The are failing to act in a timely manner.

Dec 15, 2025

I leased a new 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sahara from Gengras CJDR in Fairfield, CT. I received two catastrophic recall notices from Jeep on Nov. 24th, 2025 and was notified of a third catastrophic recall when speaking to Jeep Customer Care on Nov. 25th, 2025. The first recall notice, # 68C/NHTSA25V-741, pertains to the car's high voltage battery. The HV battery in my vehicle "may become damaged during normal vehicle operation, which could lead to a vehicle fire. A vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside the vehicle. Vehicle risk is reduced when the battery charge level is depleted. Accordingly, owners are advised to refrain from charging. Out of an abundance of caution, FCA US is also advising owners of these vehicles to park away from structures or other vehicles until the remedy is obtained". FCA US has NO REMEDY at this time. The second recall notice, #A7C/NHTSA25V-710, pertains to the vehicle's HCP randomly resetting, which causes a loss of engine power, regardless of vehicle speed. The vehicle has been updated with "Firmware Over-the-Air" software which may cause incomplete communication between the Telematics Box Module (TBM) and the Hybrid Control Processor (HCP), this condition may cause the HCP to perform a reset. An hcp which resets while driving may cause a loss of drive power which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. FCA US has NO REMEDY at this time. I was advised of the third recall notice when I spoke to Carl, of Jeep Customer Care, on November 25th, 2025. I was assigned case #XXX. I was told the third recall involves remnants of sand and finishing debris of the engine block was found to cause the engine cylinders to seize, causing a loss of drive power and possibly a crash as well. FCA US has NO REMEDY for this recall either. My car is a DEATH TRAP! How can Jeep continue to sell a car like this and not face a class action lawsuit? I refuse to drive the car. I am the owner of a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X 4xe (JL PHEV). The vehicle is subject to safety recall 25V‑741 (manufacturer recall 68C) for high‑voltage battery fire risk, and also recall 78C affecting the 2.0L engine. For recall 68C, Jeep and NHTSA instruct owners not to charge the vehicle and to park it outside and away from structures and other vehicles because the high‑voltage battery could fail internally and start a fire, even when parked. This means I cannot safely park in my garage or charge at home. I have a [XXX] infant in the home, so any increased fire risk near the residence is especially concerning. Jeep has not yet provided a final remedy or a clear timeline for a fix for 68C, so this situation is indefinite. In practice, the vehicle now operates as a less‑efficient gas‑only vehicle, with reduced usable range, higher fuel costs, and loss of the plug‑in electric function I paid for. I am also instructed to leave a potentially defective high‑voltage battery pack on my property and outdoors, which feels unsafe for my family. In addition, recall 78C raises concerns about potential engine defects and possible fire risk or major engine damage, further impacting the safety and reliability of this vehicle. My dealer and the manufacturer have confirmed the recalls but so far have not provided a loaner, buy‑back, or other adequate remedy, despite the “park outside / do not charge” safety instructions and the presence of an infant in the home. I am requesting that NHTSA closely review these recalls, the lack of an available remedy, and the real‑world safety and hardship impact on owners who cannot safely park or charge their vehicles as originally intended. On top of this, I put about $10,000 down on the lease expecting to purchase the vehicle as a long‑term PHEV. That down payment now feels like a sunk cost into a product that cannot be safely used as advertised, and the situation is starting to resemble a potential lemon‑law case. If the jeep is not sagged to park in a garage, how can it be safe to drive on the road? The recalls are not being taken care of soon enough!

Dec 13, 2025

I am filing this complaint regarding a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe that is subject to an active safety recall for a high-voltage battery defect that can lead to overheating and fire. The manufacturer has acknowledged the defect and issued instructions advising owners not to charge the vehicle and to park it outside and away from structures. At this time, the manufacturer has stated that there is no available remedy for this safety defect. Despite the known fire risk and lack of repair, I am being required to continue leasing the vehicle and make payments, and the manufacturer has refused to offer a buyback, replacement, or penalty-free lease termination because there have been no warranty repair attempts. I am concerned that I am being forced to continue using or storing a vehicle with a known and acknowledged fire risk that the manufacturer cannot currently repair. The restrictions placed on vehicle use significantly limit its safe operation and intended purpose. I am requesting that NHTSA review this situation, as the manufacturer is aware of the safety defect, has no remedy available, and is declining to provide a reasonable accommodation to address the ongoing safety risk.

Dec 12, 2025

My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has multiple major safety defects involving fire risk, loss of propulsion, and engine failure. The vehicle has been subject to four significant recalls, including: * NHTSA 24V720000 (Recall 95B): High-voltage battery may fail internally and cause a fire while parked or driving. Owners are instructed to park outside away from structures and to avoid charging. * NHTSA 25V766000 (Recall 78C): Debris inside the engine may cause engine failure, loss of drive power, and engine compartment fire. * NHTSA 25V710000 (Recall A7C): OTA software error may cause sudden loss of drive power while operating the vehicle. These recall remedies are not yet available. The vehicle has become unsafe for normal use and puts my family at risk. I pursued a lemon law claim previously due to early severe issues, including charging/fire hazards, but the problems continue and are worsening. I am unable to safely drive, park, or charge the vehicle as designed. I am requesting NHTSA review due to the ongoing risks of fire, propulsion loss, and the lack of available repairs.

Dec 11, 2025

Jeep Wrangler 4-door Rubicon 4XE stalled/suffered complete loss of power while driving down the road. It took 3 shutdown/restarts to move the vehicle to a safe location. Since then, Jeep has issued 3 URGENT unrepaired recalls. Oct 17: NHTSA 25V-710 (drive train/loss of power - remedy not yet available), Oct 30: 25V-741 (flawed battery pack that may cause vehicle fire putting life and property at risk - remedy not yet available), and Nov 6: 25V-766 (engine potentially contaminated by sand casting potentially resulting in engine failure or unexpected loss of propulsion - remedy not available) As such, I have been deprived of a safe/reliable vehicle for 2 months.

Dec 11, 2025

I was told I can’t charge the vehicle and not to park in my driveway or garage or near trees as it might catch fire or also suddenly turn off while driving

Dec 9, 2025

The vehicle is affected by two unresolved safety recalls involving a high-voltage battery fire risk and potential engine contamination that may cause sudden loss of propulsion or catastrophic engine failure. The manufacturer has instructed owners not to charge the vehicle and to park it away from structures or other vehicles due to the fire hazard. No repair or remedy is currently available for either recall, and the vehicle remains in this unsafe condition. In addition to the recall issues, the vehicle has an ongoing electrical malfunction involving the infotainment display and backup camera. During normal driving, the screen frequently turns bright green, emits a loud screeching noise, and cannot be muted or controlled. The screen and backup camera also freeze intermittently while reversing, creating visibility and distraction hazards. This issue has occurred repeatedly over the past year. The problems place the safety of the occupants and the public at risk. The inability to charge the vehicle, the possibility of sudden engine failure, and the risk of fire make the vehicle unsafe to operate or park near homes, workplaces, or other vehicles. The infotainment and camera failures also impair navigation and rear visibility. The problems have been reported to the dealer, who previously acknowledged the infotainment issue and indicated the system would be replaced, but no repair was completed. Recent attempts to obtain service or a loaner vehicle have been unsuccessful. The dealer has confirmed that no remedy is available for the safety recalls. Warning symptoms include sudden screen discoloration, loud audio distortion, frozen rear-camera image, and intermittent loss of display functions. The recall-related safety hazards occur without warning. The issues have resulted in significant loss of use of the vehicle, and the manufacturer has not provided a timeline for repairs. The vehicle is available for inspection at any time.

Dec 9, 2025

There is a major safety recall on the vehicle. It is warning customers to park away from other vehicles and structures. I park in a garage every night and also park in a large, busy parking lot every day at work. This recall is affecting the features of my vehicle. I am not able to use the hybrid which is the main reason I purchased the vehicle. I am also getting horrific gas mileage which is creating a major expense in my life that I did not have before. I have NOT received anything about this recall on my vehicle. I have had to do my own research which is pure negligence by Stellantis. I have looked into trading my vehicle in but because of this recall, it has devalued my vehicle majorly. I cannot even afford to get rid of it. I have yet to receive any notification or warning about this recall. This is incredibly unsafe for customers to be driving these vehicles with supposedly no fix.

Dec 8, 2025

The Jeep has been to the dealer at least 5 times for issues with the hybrid system. Problems include low battery life, vehicle going into "limp mode" on the interstate, unable to get the vehicle over 25mph, warning lights on the instrument panel about the battery, heat and cooling system shutting off to divert coolant to the battery system due to overheating, bad odors similar to wires burning or electric motors running hot.

Dec 8, 2025

First recall back in October the car would shut off while driving at any speed and the wheel would stop working. Now a new recalll the car would catch on fire parked / or driven because if the battery. I don’t wanna drive it I want a refund

Dec 6, 2025

UNKNOWN ; I believe that my Jeep Wrangler 4XE in connection with recall : A7C/NHTSA 25V-710 created this safety hazard. Around the end of October / Beginning of November my Jeep performed a software update like it does from time to time and within a few days the vehicle shut off completely without any prior warning. I was driving to work, luckily on a side street going 20 miles an hour pulling away from a stop sign and the vehicle just straight up dies. Lights, engine, electronics, power steering, everything was unresponsive. I managed to pull off of the roadway and had to attempt multiple times to restart the vehicle. After a minute or so of being in park, it started right up and kept driving. A few days later after limited use of the vehicle, there was a software update again and I assumed it was for that and kept using the vehicle. This experience put my life in danger as well as others. Should circumstances of my travel been different and this would have occurred on a freeway, the outcome could have been tragic for myself and others on the roadway. This experience together with the other 2 severe safety recalls with no remedy, have led me to feel so uncomfortable even having the vehicle in my possession due to a recommendation from FCA, Mopar, and the NHSTA to (A. Not charge the vehicle to lower the chance of a tragic lithium ion battery fire that can occur during normal operation creating a hazard for all occupants including minor children, but also during the vehicle being parked. Leading to (B. A recommendation to not park the vehicle close to structures or other vehicles. Which in my situation is impossible at home and at work. And (C. The risk of the engine being contaminated with sand from the casting process which can lead to catastrophic engine failure, which can start a vehicle fire or cause an accident without prior warning. I will be dropping my Jeep off at a dealer until a fix is in play. No remedies available for either 3 major recalls.

Dec 5, 2025

I have two open recalls on my 2024 Jeep a wrangler. I’m afraid to drive the vehicle for fear of fire and Jeep stopping at any moment according to the recalls.

Dec 4, 2025

Vehicle has had two battery failure recalls and one engine failure recall in the 18 months that I’ve owned it. I can’t park the car inside. I can’t charge it and now the engine may catch fire. Stellantis/Mopar has no remediation for either problem.

Dec 4, 2025

Vehicle stops driving ; states to put in park and restart - recently happened while at airport picking up family ; called jeep, Stellanis, dealership - no help - active recall - requested buy back - crickets since. ; had happened as well in past - at dealership for 3 days - was told corrected. Still happening

Dec 3, 2025

Vehicle experienced a complete and sudden loss of power, propulsion, and steering control WHILE DRIVING. The vehicle instantly shut down in motion and we were unable to accelerate, control speed, or safely maneuver, steering wheel locked. This created an immediate and severe risk of collision for myself, my spouse, and my young child who was in the vehicle at the time. There are multiple open safety recalls on this vehicle (including electrical system/propulsion defects), but no repairs or remedies are available, and the manufacturer is refusing to provide towing, inspection, or safe transportation. I reported the total power loss to the manufacturer. Despite this being an extremely dangerous event consistent with the recall symptoms, I was repeatedly told the vehicle is “safe to drive in gas mode,” even though they did NOT inspect it, did NOT ask for diagnostic information, and did NOT offer any safety assessment. They refused to authorize towing, refused to authorize inspection, and told me to pay out of pocket for a rental despite the vehicle being unsafe and unusable. The dealership also stated they have no way to repair the recalls and provided no solution or timeline and refused a loaner vehicle. The vehicle cannot be safely driven the 40+ miles to the dealership due to the prior failure. This vehicle is unsafe to operate, has already experienced the failure described in the open recalls, and the manufacturer is not providing any remedy, inspection, transport, or safe alternative transportation. We paid over $100,000 for this vehicle and currently cannot use it at all. I am reporting this because the defect has already occurred and poses a serious safety hazard to us and other drivers. We need NHTSA involvement because the manufacturer is refusing to address or acknowledge the danger despite documentation of total power loss in motion. This incident occurred MULTIPLE TIMES; date is a vague approximate.

Jeep has issues two safety recalls 68C and 78C . 78C says that engine can be stopped anytime during driving on highway. But they are not fixing it. Battery issue 68C is going on last four years. Where is the accountability? How can they sell a new vehicle in 2024 when they already knew that it had a defective battery ?

I am filing this complaint because my vehicle is subject to Recall 68C (Battery Fire Risk), and the manufacturer's remedy is inadequate, subjecting me to ongoing risk. Immediate Safety Compliance Failure: I cannot safely comply with the required "park away from structures" directive due to my current living situation. Inadequate Remedy Concern: The proposed fix for 68C is software-based. This is insufficient because the previous software fix (Recall 95B for earlier models) failed, leading to continued fires. I demand that NHTSA investigate and mandate a permanent, physical solution (a new battery with a corrected cell design) for Recall 68C, not another potentially ineffective software monitor. Financial Harm: I am also incurring significant, unplanned financial damage (increased fuel costs, paid FPL charging fees) due to the manufacturer-imposed loss of the vehicle's electric functionality. This must be addressed as part of the recall solution.

Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Recall: 78C / NHTSA 25V-766 Mileage: 6,975 miles Location: California Complaint: My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is under safety recall 78C (NHTSA 25V-766) for catastrophic engine failure, fire risk, and unexpected/unrecoverable loss of propulsion. The recall notice states that the engine may contain sand contamination from the casting process, which can cause sudden engine failure and a potential vehicle fire without warning. The biggest concern is that no remedy exists, and the manufacturer has stated the repair is “under development.” This means I am driving (or parked with) a vehicle that may suddenly lose power or catch fire. This creates a major safety hazard for me, my passengers, and the public. My vehicle has only 6,975 miles and is well within warranty, yet neither Jeep nor the dealership can perform any repair to address this safety defect. I am requesting NHTSA intervention to ensure the manufacturer provides a remedy, loaner vehicle, or buyback for unsafe vehicles with no available repair. Thank you.

Three active recalls on this vehicle currently and have not had the vehicle a full calendar year yet. Two pertaining to fire-risk recall which can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside vehicle. The recall instructions state there is an issue with battery and engine which can cause fire. The recall instructions state to not charge the vehicle nor park in garage and to park it outside away from buildings due to risk of thermal runway. The engine may contact materials which can also cause fire. Because of this, the vehicle is not safe to drive. My dealership (Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Chrysler in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey) as well as Jeep has refused to provide a loaner vehicle or transportation assistance free of charge. They informed me I must pay out of pocket for a rental while the recall remedy is being developed causing me to pay for 2 vehicles at the same. There is currently no remedy for this issue and no timeframe of when it will be available. Stellantis has not provided any support despite the safety hazard and the fact that I cannot safely use this vehicle. This leaves me without transportation during a federally mandated safety recall involving a fire risk. I am requesting NHTSA review this issue and contact the involved parties to ensure proper handling of the recall and consumer safety. Thank you,

My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is under two active safety recalls: Recall 68C (NHTSA 25V-741) involving high voltage battery fire risk, and Recall 78C (NHTSA 25V766) unexpected and unrecoverable loss of propulsion which is also currently unresolved. Recall 68C instructs owners NOT to recharge the vehicle and to park it away from structures due to potential fire. No remedy exists for either recall. The vehicle is leased and cannot be used normally or safely. Stellantis has not provided a remedy, replacement, or loaner. I am requesting NHTSA review due to the severity of the defects, the lack of an available fix, and the significant safety impact to consumers.

My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has two serious safety recalls: A7C and 68C. Recall A7C states the vehicle may lose propulsion while driving, which can cause a crash without warning. Recall 68C states the high-voltage battery may be damaged during normal use and may cause a vehicle fire. Jeep instructs owners to not charge the vehicle and to park away from structures. The manufacturer states that no remedy is available for either recall. This makes the vehicle unsafe to drive, unsafe to park at home, and unusable as designed. The manufacturer has provided no timeline for repair. This is an unresolved, dangerous safety hazard.

.I am submitting this complaint regarding the handling of two safety recalls affecting my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4-Door 4xe, which I learned about through my “November Vehicle Health Report” email on November 22, 2025. Since then, I have been in ongoing communication with Jeep, Chrysler Customer Care, and Mopar; however, they have not provided sufficient guidance. 1) Recall 68C: The Vehicle Health Report included a link to the FCA recall notice advising owners to “refrain from recharging” and to “park away from structures and other vehicles.” Chrysler emailed on November 26 offering a 30-day rental reimbursement tied only to Recall 68C, but the amount does not cover an equivalent or safe winter-capable vehicle for our region. 2) Recall 78C: I have been unable to obtain clear information regarding Recall 78C. The Vehicle Health Report included minimal details and no link to the FCA documentation. I found the Part 573 Safety Recall Report (25V766) on the NHTSA website while trying to determine if the vehicle was safe to drive. Chrysler Customer Care repeatedly avoids answering whether a “do not drive” advisory exists for 78C and continually redirects me to the 68C guidance. The NHTSA representative I spoke with was also unsure why Chrysler did not select either advisory checkbox (Do Not Drive / Park Outside) on page 3 of the 78C report, leaving owners without essential guidance. 3) Impact on Safety and Daily Life: My household relies on a single vehicle. With no safety guidance for 78C and an engine warning light that appeared on October 3, 2025—along with electric mode not functioning that day, which required service at the Jeep dealership—we determined it was safest not to drive the vehicle. We have now been without transportation for seven days. We kindly ask NHTSA to help us (and other customers) secure clear 78C safety guidance and an equivalent transportation solution until the recall is resolved.

While driving, the vehicle lost complete power and there was no way to control movement. This event has occurred three times. Two of the events were while manuvering into parking, the third was while moving at speed approximately 40-50mph. There has been no warning lamp or warning of any kind before the occurance. This problem seems to be in relation to the A7C recall that currently has no remedy.

Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN: [XXX] ) has three active recalls with no available remedy. My vehicle has shut down three times while driving, exactly matching the safety defects described in Recall 25V-710, which warns of sudden loss of propulsion. Recalls 25V-741 and 25V-766 warn of potential fire and catastrophic engine failure. Jeep/Stellantis refused to provide a safe remedy or replacement without charging me. The car is unsafe to drive and unsafe to park near my home. Request NHTSA intervention. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Nov 26, 2025

I am filing a safety complaint regarding my leased 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe, VIN [XXX] , manufactured by JEEP, leased through Stellantis. This vehicle is under an active recall for a battery-related fire risk. I have been informed by the dealership and the manufacturer that no repair or fix is currently available, potentially until next year. Despite this, the OEM states the vehicle is “safe to drive” while also instructing me not to park the vehicle indoors, near other vehicles, or near structures due to the risk of fire. This guidance is contradictory and makes normal use of the vehicle unsafe and impractical. I must drive to work and park near other vehicles and buildings, which the manufacturer says not to do. In addition, the vehicle also has an unresolved airbag recall with no fix available. The vehicle is leased, yet I have been told I cannot exchange the vehicle or exit the lease without paying the full remaining term, even though the vehicle cannot be safely used as intended and has no available remedy. I am requesting that NHTSA review whether a vehicle that may catch fire and cannot be safely parked should be considered safe to operate, and whether interim consumer protections or remedies should be required when no repair exists. Recieved 2 recall notices in the mail. Recall 78C and 68C. Recall 78C safety risk : "A vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and/or injury to persons outside the vehicle, as well as property damage. A loss of propulsion may result in a vehicle crash without prior warning". There is still no remedy for this as per my call with the dealer on 11/25/25. Recall 68C safety risk: "A vehicle fire can result in increased risk of occupant injury and injury to persons outside the vehicle. Vehicle risk is reduced when the battery charge level is depleted. Accordingly, owners are advised to refrain from recharging. Out of an abundance of caution, FCA US is also advising owners of these vehicles to park away from structures or other vehicles until the remedy is obtained." No parts available for remedy as per my call with the dealer on 11/25/25 Both of these recalls pose a risk to my wife and children that utilize the vehicle.

I was driving on a major 3-lane highway and lost all power to the Jeep. The gas pedal did not work, and the car started to decelerate. The display said "shit to park and press button to start" (or something to that effect). There was no left lane shoulder, so I had to navigate across 3 lanes of traffic while decelerating to try to get to the right lane shoulder, which I eventually did. The car sat on the shoulder for an hour. It would start. The start button did nothing. While waiting for the tow truck for about an hour, it finally started. I drove it home and brought to the shop today. This is completely unacceptable. The car cannot turn off (and tell me to put it into park at 55 mph, which is dangerous in and of itself, let alone having to navigate a busy highway with zero power to the car). There was no crash (as is asked below), but it was nothing short of a miracle that there was no accident.

I'm worried about my safety, with the risk of my car catching fire, there's a problem in the electric motor and battery, potentially two units that can catch fire and harm me, just as I can't fully use the car due to restrictions and lack of a solution from the manufacturer, just as it happened on older models, I'm not sure that this time they really find it.

On November 13, 2025 at approximately 9:00 A.M. my wife was driving my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe on the Massachusetts Turnpike. Prior to making the trip to my wife's cancer appointment, the vehicle was fully charged and had a full tank of gas. Traffic was extremely heavy and was stop and go, in the area of Newton Massachusetts. My wife notified me that a alert came across the dashboard that the vehicle needed to be plugged in. At the time the vehicle had over a half tank of gas and there was no ability to pull over and charge the vehicle. There were no rest stops in the area to even try to address this issue. Without warning the vehicle shut down in the middle of the Massachusetts Turnpike at the height of rush hour morning traffic. My wife, [XXX] daughter, and I were terrified as a 18 wheeler hit his horn and nearly rear-ended us just as the vehicle shut down. The vehicle would not respond to anything. Vehicles continued to blow their horn and we were nearly struck several times. My wife called 911 immediately requesting assistance. The Massachusetts State Police responded to aid, but it was 15 terrifying minutes of angry drivers blowing their horns and we were nearly struck on several occasions. We were stuck for over 30 minutes until the tow truck arrived. I have been a police officer for 19 years and this was more terrifying than any call I responded to in my career. I feared my family was going to be killed. The vehicle was towed to Mc Govern Jeep in Newton Mass. They reported that the battery needed to be replaced and the charging system. Jeep tried to blame this on two recalls, which they do not have a remedy for. McGovern Jeep and my dealership advised me that this was not caused by anything I did as the owner. I religiously serviced this vehicle through my dealership with oil changes and tire rotations. My vehicle had been inspected and was cared for meticulously. Jeep has refused to buy back the vehicle as I refuse to put my family back in that vehicle INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFO

My 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe has two open safety recalls affecting the high-voltage battery and related electrical systems. The manufacturer’s instructions require that I: • park the vehicle outdoors only, • avoid parking near structures or other vehicles, and • not charge the high-voltage battery. These restrictions make normal use of the vehicle unsafe and impractical. I cannot reliably find isolated outdoor parking at home, work, or public locations. I also cannot use the electric/hybrid portion of the vehicle at all because charging is prohibited. This creates ongoing safety concerns related to potential fire risk and places limitations that prevent normal daily operation. The dealership has confirmed that both recalls are active and that no remedy is available. Stellantis/Jeep Customer Care has also confirmed that there is no repair timeline and instructed me to follow the safety restrictions. Because the vehicle cannot be repaired and the manufacturer offers no solution, I am left with a vehicle that cannot be safely charged, parked, or used in many routine situations. No dashboard warning lights appeared before I received the recall notices; the recall instructions themselves constitute the warning. The vehicle remains in my possession and is available for inspection. I am filing this complaint because the unresolved safety defects, the lack of an available remedy, and the restrictions placed on parking and charging create a significant and ongoing safety risk for myself and others. I am requesting NHTSA’s review due to the manufacturer’s inability to provide a safe, usable, and repairable vehicle.

My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is currently subject to an active fire-risk battery recall with instructions to “park outside” and “do not charge.” There is no remedy available for my VIN at this time. The manufacturer states there is a risk of the high-voltage battery catching fire. In addition to the recall, the vehicle has exhibited violent, unsafe jolting movements during acceleration and normal driving, which is consistent with high-voltage battery or hybrid drivetrain malfunction. These unexpected surges and jolts make the vehicle feel unstable and dangerous to operate for me and my family of four. Because of the fire risk AND these sudden jolts, I do not feel safe driving this vehicle. I have attempted multiple times to work with Jeep Customer Care to initiate a Safety Recall Compensation case, but Stellantis/Jeep has repeatedly refused to open a case and continues redirecting me between departments. On 11/17 at approximately 3:20 PM, a Customer Care agent named Louie transferred me to a local dealership when I requested a supervisor, even though the dealership confirmed they cannot initiate compensation or buyback requests. Jeep Customer Care has failed to: Open a recall compensation case Escalate the safety concerns Address the violent jolting behavior Provide written communication Follow proper recall procedures At this time, I have a vehicle that is unsafe to drive, unsafe to charge, and exhibiting dangerous mechanical behavior with no available repair. I am requesting NHTSA assistance to compel Stellantis/Jeep to follow recall safety protocols and provide a remedy, compensation, or replacement for this unresolved safety defect.

Recall Numbers: 25V-741 (Battery Fire Risk), 25V-766 (Engine Casting Contamination) Summary of Issue: I am filing this complaint because my vehicle is subject to two urgent safety recalls, including risk of fire when parked and catastrophic engine failure. Despite contact with Jeep and my dealership, remedies have not been provided in a timely manner. The recalls remain incomplete, and been advised only to park away from structures and refrain from charging — which is not a practical or safe long-term solution. Safety Risk: The vehicle poses a fire hazard even when stationary. Engine contamination may lead to sudden propulsion loss, creating crash risk. These defects endanger both occupants and bystanders. Manufacturer Response: FCA US has acknowledged the recalls but has not provided remedies. Repairs not until 2026 Impact on Daily Life: I am a caregiver for elderly parents [XXX] , [XXX] old) and rely on safe, reliable transportation. The inability to use this vehicle safely has disrupted caregiving responsibilities and created significant hardship. NO longer driving Jeep , due to safety concerns for parents and family Requested Action: I ask NHTSA to investigate Jeep’s failure to provide timely remedies for these recalls and to ensure FCA US complies with federal safety obligations. I also request that NHTSA track and escalate this issue given the urgent fire risk and potential for catastrophic engine failure Jeep currently at dealership (Nov 17, 2025)for Recalls 68C/78C , plus Jeep dying while driving and jolting and taking off and exerting forward down the road. Previous repairs last year 2024 for Engine light remaining on which dealership replaced Charging Module , then Engine Element , Jeep heated up garage for high temperature while charging and extremely hot to touch , these previous issues could all be related to these 2 recalls , so very concerned about my safety . The vehicle is subject to Safety Recall 68C involving the high-voltage battery. The manufacturer instructs owners to stop charging the vehicle and to park it outdoors, away from structures or other vehicles, due to a potential internal battery defect that may cause thermal runaway, fire, or sudden loss of propulsion. The manufacturer has stated that parts are not available and provided no timeline for repair. It is not possible to comply with the requirement to park the vehicle away from structures because the residential community where the vehicle is located prohibits street parking and does not allow parking off the driveway. As a result, there is no safe or legal way to store the vehicle that satisfies the recall instructions. This creates an ongoing fire risk to nearby structures and poses a significant safety concern for the owner, neighboring homes, and the community. The recall has effectively made the vehicle unusable, unchargeable, and unsafe to store, with no remedy currently available. I am requesting that NHTSA review this issue, as the vehicle cannot be operated or parked in accordance with the recall guidance and no remedy exists at this time.

I'm writing to you today concerning the Jeep 4Xe and the dangerous fire prone hybrid batteries. I'm urging you to look further into this problem and possibly consider forcing a full buyback of all 4Xe's. Jeep has issued the 3rd recall regarding fire prone batteries that may have a dangerous hardware defect. The recall again is just a software patch to attempt to identify faulty batteries. The first two recalls did not work as fires continue to happen. The fact is that Stellantis has no idea of what or how many batteries are subject to fire. It is my opinion that they have severely under estimated the true number of defective batteries. They have now stated for the past few years of the fire danger, but have yet to get control of the failures, and still continue to build them with defective batteries. Because of the obvious lack of responsibility on the part of Stellantis, the fact that they continue to knowingly and willingly sell defective Jeeps, I beg you to take a closer look and to consider forcing a buyback of all 4Xe vehicles. Stellantis is dragging their feet at the risk of death to the general public. Stellantis again says to stop charging the vehicle, which is possible, but not everyone will do it, and that also places me and others in an unsafe position due to other's actions. Parking outside and away from structures and other vehicles is not a possibility. Between my 4Xe's and my neighbors, there are four 4Xe's all within range to burn the neighborhood to the ground. How can I trust that others are taking the recommended steps to keep me safe? My 4Xe is now nothing more than a useless brick. When will this end? Please consider my request.

Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Safety Recall IDs: 78C and 68C Issue: No available remedy for serious safety defects. Summary: My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has two active safety recalls. Recall 78C involves engine casting contamination leading to fire risk and sudden loss of propulsion. Recall 68C involves a hybrid electrical defect that can cause propulsion shutdown. There are no repairs available. I am concerned about sudden loss of power while driving, especially at highway speeds or when transporting my young children. Stellantis has not responded to my requests for assistance. The vehicle does not feel safe to drive.

My Jeep 4xe is currently under 2 urgent fire recalls. 68C for the battery and 78C for the potential sand in the engine during production. There is currently no remedy available for either recall and the manufacturer is refusing to replace the parts or remedy the problem. Jeep is saying to take it to the dealership and the dealership is saying there is no test they can run and is pointing back at Jeep because Jeep hasn't given them a fix. I do have videos of the engine running extremely loud and clicking and instances where the cooling fan won't shut off for hours. I have not been parking in my garage and not charging the vehicle to reduce the risk as much as possible. I have had two instances where the propulsion suddenly stopped while driving, which is one of the warnings of the 78C recall. This is a safety risk for myself and my two young children who are in the car daily due to necessity, and Jeep is not offering any solutions to the problem at hand and my safety concerns.

My Jeep Wrangler 4xe is affected by two open NHTSA safety recalls: 25V-766 (engine casting sand contamination) and 25V-741 (HV battery separator damage). Both recalls involve serious safety risks including fire, sudden loss of propulsion, and catastrophic engine failure. In the official Jeep Owner Portal, both recalls show “remedy not available” and “parts not available.” Jeep also instructs owners not to recharge the vehicle and to park away from buildings, indicating an active fire hazard. The vehicle cannot be repaired because no remedy exists. The dealer confirmed that repairs cannot be performed. I also experienced abnormal vibrations while driving, which Jeep documented under a separate case number. This issue remains unresolved as well. These defects place occupants and others at risk because the vehicle may lose power without warning or catch fire. Stellantis/FCA has not provided any repair option or timeline. I am requesting NHTSA oversight due to the ongoing safety hazard and the lack of an available remedy.

Nov 17, 2025

I am experiencing a severe and dangerous front-end vibration at freeway speeds between 60–65 mph, commonly known as “Death Wobble.” The wobble is violent enough that I feel I could lose control of the vehicle. It makes the Jeep extremely unsafe to drive on the freeway. This is happening on a vehicle that is practically new with only 38,000 miles, which is unacceptable for a safety-related issue. I brought the vehicle to the dealership three times before my warranty expired, and the problem was never fixed. Now that the warranty period has passed, the dealership is telling me I must pay out of pocket for the repairs, even though this issue started and was reported while the vehicle was still under warranty.

My 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe has multiple open safety recalls with no remedy available. These recalls include fire risk when parked, battery fire risk, loss of propulsion at highway speed, and engine failure due to contamination. The manufacturer warns owners to park away from buildings and avoid charging, which means the vehicle is unsafe to drive or store. We contacted Stellantis and were told no fix exists. This is a serious safety hazard to my family and others. I have already opened a case with Stellantis (Case number #94748033) and was told there is currently no repair available.

On September 28, 2025 I recorded a video of the engine and engine fan whirring erratically because this would happen every time I turned the car on for several weeks and I wanted to document the noise. Then, on October 11,2025 The hybrid system failed twice in one day. The car was in Drive and shifted to Park without driver intervention and the car stopped. First I was in my driveway backing out. The second time I was driving on the highway. this occurred going 72mph in the left lane. There was a cement barricade to my left and 3 other lanes to my right. I had my car set at cruise control when all of a sudden I felt a jolt and the screen said the car was in Park. The car began slowing down. I turned the hazards on and slammed on the brakes and luckily there was no one immediately behind me to cause an accident. I slowly moved over 3 lanes to the right side where there was so cement barricade and stopped the car. It took several tries to turn the car back on and I did not feel safe even once I did. I got the car turned on, got off the next exit, and was luckily less than 1 mile from a Jeep dealership where I brought the car in. They ran the computer system and validated the incident based on an error message in the code. It took 3 days to fix the car , but even when I picked up the car that was "fixed" it makes the same loud whirring sound every time I turn the car on. Today I discovered there is a broader recall that includes my VIN number and customers will be notified in December. I am extremely concerned with the time it has taken for Jeep to inform me as I do not feel safe in my vehicle. I tried to go to a dealership to explain the concern and request a negotiation to get out of my lease but they would not discuss the matter.

Component/System: High-Voltage Battery (Hybrid/Electric Propulsion System) I lease a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe that has been identified in Jeep’s recall for the high-voltage battery, which may have internal damage that could cause a short circuit and fire. Jeep instructed owners to park outdoors, away from structures or other vehicles, and avoid charging until a remedy is available. This creates a serious safety and storage problem. My homeowner association prohibits street or outdoor parking, so I have no safe or lawful place to store the vehicle. I have followed Jeep’s guidance and stopped using or charging it, leaving the vehicle unusable through no fault of my own. The recall was confirmed by Jeep’s recall department, and my VIN [XXX] ) is included. I have contacted both Jeep and Stellantis Financial Services, since the vehicle is leased, but no repair, parts, or permanent remedy have been provided. Jeep offered a rental, which is not an adequate substitute for my family’s needs. Safety Risk: There is potential fire risk if the vehicle is parked indoors or near other cars. This situation forces owners into noncompliance with community rules or unsafe parking conditions. Reproduction/Inspection: The issue is confirmed by the manufacturer recall; the vehicle has not been inspected or repaired because Jeep advised not to move or charge it. Warning Lamps: None prior to the recall. Date of Recall Notice: November 2025. I am requesting that NHTSA review this recall and Stellantis’s response for leased vehicles that cannot be safely operated or stored and for which no remedy or safe-use option exists. 2024 jeep 4xe constantly won’t engage in hybrid mode and will blow out thick white smoke from the exhaust (Not exhaust fumes) engine has become abnormally loud and idles very high. Oil percentage went from 90% to 0 just sitting idle in the driveway with in 10 mins resulting in 3 oil changes before 5,000 miles

Component/System: The high-voltage lithium-ion battery pack (specifically, faulty battery cells within the pack). There is currently no fix for this. There is a severe safety defect with the Jeep 4xE. This recall (Fire risk) puts my safety, as well as others' safety, at a very high risk. It has caused a threat to immediate danger due to the increased risk of death, serious injury, or significant property damage, just to name a few (with death being the biggest concern). This problem has been confirmed by Jeep/Stellantis on their website, advising owners to park the vehicle outdoors and away from structures and not to charge the vehicle until a remedy is available. Dealers don’t have a fix for this. The manufacturer's guidance (not charging, parking outside) renders the vehicle effectively unusable as designed. The safety recall is linked to internal cell damage in the high-voltage battery. My vehicle uses regenerative braking to recapture kinetic energy. Given that the manufacturer advises against charging and that the fire risk is higher with a full battery, I believe the operation of the regenerative braking system, which continually attempts to increase the battery's state of charge, should be considered a contributing factor that exacerbates the underlying defect during normal driving conditions. No warnings or messages, or other symptoms have yet been noted.

While driving the vehicle, complete loss of power was experienced due to the recall. I had to pull over to the side of the road and was luckily in a safe space. However, had I been driving on main roads, I could have gotten into an accident. While this recall has been temporarily fixed at this moment, a permanent fix has not been done. Also, since my lease in March 2024, the vehicle has been in the shop several times due to the inability of the vehicle to be filled with gas. My vehicle will be almost completely out of gas, and I can still only put 12 gallons of gas in the car. My dealership had the car in their shop for over three weeks total (on 2-3 occasions), and no resolution was made. I’m still having issues filling up my car on the regular. And now, with the most recent recall, I will be filling my car up a lot more. This vehicle is a mess and they need to rectify the situation and issues immediately. With the winter months approaching and the possibility for snow, I am now at the disadvantage of having to park my car away from my house, not use the electric functionality and leaving it unprotected from the elements. This is unacceptable. I traded in my 2019 6 cyl gas powered Wrangler for the sole purpose of having the electric functionality, and now I’m stuck paying a MUCH higher car payment for a vehicle I am unable to drive in electric format. AND let’s not forget that it’s a safety hazard. I do not feel comfortable driving this vehicle and putting my family in it.

Nov 9, 2025

I do not feel safe to operate my vehicle or have it parked at my residence. I have contacted the dealership and they told me to contact stellantis. There’s currently no fix for the fire issue. The original recall months ago I contacted my dealer and I was told my Vin was not on the list. I spoke with the stellantis and they told me that the recall just happened. They had a similar recall months ago. Somehow my Vin wasn’t listed, but now my Vin is listed for the same recall. They also have another open recall where the vehicle shut off completely while driving a friend of mine who has the same exact model color in year has already experienced this. What’s to say that a month from now my vehicle won’t also have that recall and I don’t have an accident on the highway while driving it. I would like the vehicle to either be taken back or to be switched out with a safe vehicle. I fear for my safety and my family Safety owning this vehicle. If I place the vehicle outdoors and follow all instructions, I’m devaluing the vehicle because it is Garage kept and not a daily driver. I also cannot use the feature of electric, which is why I purchased the vehicle, but I am still expected to pay for it and keep this vehicle with an open recall that has no resolution.

Nov 8, 2025

The battery died multiple times and has been replaced costing multiple days without transportation. Battery caused additional part repair and has been recently repaired. This is the 5th time going into shop for recall/issues on my vehicle with only 10k miles on it. Now with the safety recall with no solution I do not feel confident that this vehicle is safe and reliable for my family and daily life.

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that the infotainment screen glitched while using the Navigation system and other features. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V710000 (Electrical System) and NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000(Electrical System); however, the parts for the recall repairs were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

I have had multiple issues with this vehicle including • A failed sensor resulted in the loss of traction control, four-wheel drive, and ABS brakes, making the vehicle unsafe to operate. • A fuel sensor malfunction caused gasoline to backflow and spill during refueling. • On a separate occasion, the vehicle shut off completely while driving, leaving me without control of the vehicle. There are now 2 recalls on the vehicle. 1 for the vehicle randomly turning off and the other for potential to catch fire. Neither of which the dealership or Stellantis has issued a fix and are saying it’s “safe to drive”, however I failed my inspection a few months due to a torn windshield wiper because that is a safety risk.

Nov 3, 2025

I was sitting in a drive through and my car binged, on the dash a pop up appeared that said “Hybrid Mode Unavailable” and my vehicle cut itself off and put itself in park. I cut the vehicle back on and the engine light came on. I rolled up a little bit and it did the same thing again. I cut the vehicle back on, put it in esave mode and found a parking spot where I cut the car off and aat for a little bit. When I cut it back on, I put it in esave made and was able to drive home without it throwing the error again. The check engine light stayed on until I went to the dealership. I was already scheduled for an oil change and the checked the engine light while I was there. They set up to repair another recall on the vehicle. They cleared the check engine light and said it was related to the electronics in the vehicle.

Oct 28, 2025

Received over the air Uconnect software update immediately thereafter, vehicle began stalling and putting itself in park before Jeep issued recall A7C (NHTSA 25V-710). Vehicle was towed to Glendale Jeep (Glendale, CA) on 10/11/25 and returned 10/24/25. Dealer mis-stated vehicle out by date on repair order. Upon receiving vehicle back and driving, still noticed a lack of power when accelerating. On 10/26/2025 vehicle infotainment system stopped working, and all infotainment-controlled safety related features stopped working (Collision avoidance, Back up camera etc.). I Reported incomplete repair back to dealer on 10/27/2025. Dealer states that they cannot accept vehicle back for repair as the fix they provided was only temporary. Jeep only provided them a temporary fix and Jeep has not released a complete comprehensive fix. Dealer never disclosed this repair was only temporary when the vehicle was picked up, despite having knowledge of this. Dealer now states that they cannot accept vehicle back or any affected vehicles at this time because they have too many affected Jeep on the lot awaiting the temporary repair. Contacted Jeep numerous times and filed claim. Jeep is delaying rental reimbursement payment under their wave program and not directly providing direct rental replacement vehicle either despite having been sent receipts and proof of repair work order. My vehicle and other Jeeps are not safe to drive with the temporary fix Jeep provided, as the safety features are not functioning. Additionally, The dealer should have not released the vehicle back with knowledge that these safety systems may be compromised. It puts my safety and the safety of other motorist on the road at risk. As of 10/28/25 ,Jeep and the dealer have not provided any instructions on what to do or how to proceed. Vehicle cannot be repaired at this point.

On October 11, 2025, while traveling approximately 50 mph, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe suddenly and without warning lost motive power. The vehicle rapidly decelerated to around 10 mph. Thankfully, no vehicle was immediately behind me; had there been, a rear-end crash likely would have occurred. I was able to pull to the shoulder and had to completely shut down and restart the vehicle to temporarily restore power. I drove the vehicle directly to the authorized Jeep dealership after the incident, and it has remained there since that date. A recall related to this exact failure was issued afterward. My VIN is confirmed as included, and NHTSA status currently shows “Recall Incomplete — Remedy Not Yet Available.” Despite the safety failure already occurring and no remedy existing, Jeep Customer Care closed my case prematurely. I do not feel safe operating this vehicle until a repair is defined and completed. I am reporting this because the hazard remains unresolved, and owner support and protection feel inadequate. This defect occurred before the recall announcement and represents a confirmed loss-of-power safety event that could have resulted in a serious crash.

On [XXX] I was driving down hill at a good speed, when all of a sudden my car completely turned off and almost threw me through the windshield. I found out that this was a result of an OTA update that I was not informed of. After this occurred and I finally got my vehicle to start, all the electric started glitching and the rear view camera only operates sometimes. This car is very dangerous I will not get back in it ever again. My vehicle is at Coastline Chrysler in San Juan Capistrano, California where it will remain as I do not intend on ever getting back in it again. I am requesting to get out of the last 11 months of my lease and a full refund for 25 lease payments as well as my $4500 cash deposit upon leasing. I am in a rental and I cannot afford it so I need immediate action INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I lease a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN [XXX] ). On 10/23/2025, while traveling about 50 mph, the vehicle suddenly lost propulsion and the dash displayed “Put in Park to drive.” I had to coast through traffic, stop, shift to Park, and fully restart to regain drive. Within minutes it recurred. This defect is unpredictable and dangerous. I regularly commute on the Ohio Turnpike at highway speeds and I cannot risk driving this vehicle because it can cut power without warning, leaving me unable to accelerate while surrounding traffic closes in. I am avoiding highway use entirely and limiting all driving due to the high risk of rear-end collision during a power loss. The vehicle is unsafe to operate until a permanent remedy exists. Background: the vehicle has previously exhibited powertrain/electrical issues (including overheating) and spent ~2.5 weeks at the dealer over the summer. Early incidents occurred under 18,000 miles. Recall context: Mopar and NHTSA show an open safety recall A7C / 25V-710 on my VIN for loss of motive power; status “remedy not yet available.” The vehicle is available for inspection by NHTSA or the manufacturer. I can provide screenshots/video of the “Put in Park to drive” message and repair records upon request. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

A software update was pushed put to the Jeep via over the air update on or around 10/10/2025. After installation, Jeep unexpectantly shut down while driving. I was doing approx 35 miles per hour 1/2 mile from my house in the first drive after the update happened. All power to the jeep was lost and I was forced to drive off the road as i no longer had any abiblity to accelerate. After pulling off the road I was able to press the brake and start the vehicle. It started but only went another short distance before losing power again. This happened muiltiple times before I was able to make it back to the house. THe check engine light also appeared. The loss of power was 100% attributable to the software update as per many Jeep forums. This update was rolled out OTA on a Friday and with the dealerships closed over the weekend I had to find other transporation as my vehicle was bricked. Received the car back from the dealer on 10/22 after a system control software update.

Since buying this jeep in 2024 I have had numerous issues that jeep has not been able to resolve. The first issue I experienced was the key-fob not being able to unlock the doors or start the jeep. Tomball Jeep kept my jeep for about 3 weeks trying to figure out what is causing the issue, with the help of the engineer team they could never figure out the problem. I am still experiencing this issue as of today. Around September 2025 I started experiencing issues with my radio turning itself off and rebooting by itself, other times all it would do is give you loud noise of static and then reboot. This affects the jeeps back up camera and all the electronics on the dash. Then the weekend of October 11,2025 my jeeps powertrain stopped and gave me a notice to put my jeep in park and restart the engine, this happened as you were driving down the highway no matter what speed you were going. I had taken my jeep to the dealership on October 13,2025 and jeep wanted to keep my vehicle for 5-7 days for diagnosis without giving me a loaner vehicle for me to get back and forth to work.

I received a Uconnect update message on 10 -11–25 after doing that update my check engine light came on and my vehicle stalled out losing power multiple times on a highway with heavy traffic. I was asked to drive the vehicle to the Jeep dealership Heritage Jeep in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania they told me they would have to keep my jeep. They did not know how long they would have it and they were working with Chrysler. As a nurse and a single 60-year-old woman I had no other transportation. I asked if I could bring my Jeep in the following week to see if an update would be available when I left the dealership, the engine light was off and the vehicle was running fine. On Friday 10 –17–25. I received another message that an update was sent from UConnect on 10-14-25 my engine light came back on and I lost several electronic features related to temperature reading, remote start, and some safety related services. I took my Jeep back up to Heritage Jeep. It is there now. I had to take a shuttle home and I have no way to get to work they are not sure how long they’re going to have it. They are not sure if I will be able to get a rental car covered by Chrysler. I went to enterprise and they had no Chrysler available to rent due to this issueThere is no timeframe for fixing this situation and it has already cost me over $500 due to a missed weekend getaway 10-17-25. that I had to cancel on 10-17-25. I missed a day of work today and as a registered nurse today will cost me close to $350. I am afraid to drive my vehicle now after having it stall in traffic and almost being sideswiped when it stalled at a red light the Jeep dealership Informed me they are not getting much information from Chrysler. I am paying $725 a month to lease this Jeep and now I’m afraid to drive it and according to the dealership, they don’t know when an update will be coming in to fix the Uconnect problem this is absolutely unacceptable and I need assistance with this problem.

Oct 20, 2025

On 10/4/25 while driving my 24 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe, the vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating while in driving approx. 30 MPH in a roadway. Several warning lights came on the dash, including a green turtle symbol, the battery light and the plug light. The instrument cluster then went dark and came back on stating the vehicle was in "Turtle Mode" and speed would be limited. The vehicle then would not go over 5 MPH. and would not switch to gas only (E-Save) mode. I narrowly avoided a collision and was able to pull over out of traffic. I shut the vehicle down for approx. 10 mins. It then restarted and drove the rest of the way home without issue. I made several attempts to call Fitzgerald Countryside Jeep to get it serviced, and tried to make an appointment on their website but never received confirmation. On 10/10/25, the vehicle would not start after being plugged in overnight with a full tank of gas and stated "Service Charging System" After waiting 10 mins, the vehicle started normally. On 10/13/25 while backing out of a parking space, the vehicle shut off without warning and would not turn back on. I was able to push the vehicle out of traffic back into the spot. The vehicle would not turn on. The vehicle had to be towed to Dayton Andrews Jeep where I was advised the batteries were replaced. The propensity for the vehicle to suddenly stop accelerating without warning is dangerous and creates a high likelihood of a crash.

After installing an OTA update . The vehicle kept stalling while i was driving it .it stalled 3 times in less than half a mile .completely stops midway all lights on dashboard start flashing asking to be put on park then start . Jeep 4xe Wrangler engine shut off while driving. Error we assumed on our part while coming to a stop. Turned the Jeep off and restarted it and again, car engine stopped. Tried for a 3rd time, car engine was running, gas pedal to the floor but the car would not move. We had to drive in reverse back to our house. Luckily, it was close. Called Corporate, they have been zero help. Will not return our phone calls. We have no car to use and no answers.

Oct 16, 2025

While driving my 2024 Jeep Rubicon 4xe, both the Check Engine and “Service Battery” lights came on, and the vehicle suddenly shut down completely in the middle of a busy intersection. I lost all ability to accelerate, steer, or brake — the steering wheel locked, and the vehicle was inoperable in heavy traffic. I was trapped in the lane with vehicles approaching from all directions, unable to move or control the car in any way. It was a frightening and dangerous experience that could have resulted in a serious accident. This was the second time this same issue occurred. The first happened around May 17, 2024, when the vehicle had approximately 500 miles. The dealership repaired it under warranty and returned it to me. The most recent incident occurred around October 10, 2025, at approximately 10,000 miles. The San Leandro Jeep Dodge Ram Chrysler dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed that Jeep engineering is aware of the problem and that a fix is being developed, but there is no known repair or release timeline. They stated the only option was to clear the codes and return the vehicle. This is also my second Jeep 4xe to experience the exact same issue. My previous 4xe was repurchased by the manufacturer (FCA/Stellantis) in 2023 after similar “Service Battery” warnings and total shutdowns while driving. This ongoing defect is a severe safety hazard. The vehicle can lose all power, propulsion, and steering without warning, leaving the driver and others on the road in immediate danger. A total loss of control — especially while crossing an intersection or driving at speed — could easily result in a crash or fatal injury.

Oct 16, 2025

Jeep wanted to do an OTA update through the connect service. I continued to select 'update later' for several days then it all of a sudden my uconnect service told me it was updating. Immediately after it was updated, while on the road, the screened flashed off then back on just like it does at start up wanting me to start the vehicle. At this point we were at a stoplight and wasn't actively moving at this time. It was already running, and when the button was pressed, it turned, off, then pressed again and turned back on and restarted with on with CEL. I was only a mile from my local dealership, so I proceeded to go there.

We were driving the car after a faulty over the air update that forced the car to shut down while driving. My kids were in the car this created a very dangerous situation. We were able to “limp” it to a parking lot but it could have been more dangerous had we been on a freeway.

Oct 16, 2025

I was driving as normal in a 40mph zone when my car stalled, steering locked up, and it flashed to put it in park in the middle of traffic. I was able to move over to a safe space after putting it in park but it kept shutting off as I inched my way off the road with hazards on. There was an update that went out that was causing this to vehicles and i was declining the update as suggested by manufactuerer by pressing the red X but it somehow forced installed itself while I was driving. Then while i was pulled over it would run for a few seconds then it would all of a sudden shut off again saying E-Drive Mode Temporairly Unavailable. Ive attached some photos but have a video of it running and shutting off if you would like me to send that.

Oct 16, 2025

The car installed an upgrade over the air, in the background, and while driving it shut down. It flashes the screens and shut down while in drive on a busy road. Steering wheel locked and had to turn on and off aeveral times just to move slowly to the side away from oncoming vehicles. After looking online, found article about this issue across the country in the models, and tried the reset instructions. Eventually was able to keep it on and drive slowly to the dealer about 25miles away. They've had it since yesterday saying they reaching out to engineering unable to figure out how to fix.

My vehicle shut off as I was accelerating.

Oct 16, 2025

It updated the software then after that while I was driving the car suddenly died. Lost power. Almost got hit from behind but I was lucky to be able to get on the shoulder.

Oct 15, 2025

Driving down the road, Jeep suddenly says shift to park and loses all power stalling in the middle the road. This happened twice on October 14, 2025 and needed a tow truck to be brought to a dealership. When it loses power everything locks up including steering so you can even pull over safely to the side of the road. This is a very serious issue that can easily cause a deadly accident and needs to be addressed.

Oct 15, 2025

Jeep pushed out an update on Friday 10/10 that we were advised to decline as it was causing mechanical failures. Despite declining the update ever since, and being assured that this remedy would work until the update expired in 30 days, apparently it still managed to push through on its own last night. I was less than two miles from my house this morning on my way to an appointment when the dashboard lit up and the Jeep completely lost power. I shut it off, turned it back on and was able to get back home, but the CEL is still on. I was lucky enough to be on a side road, as I was about to enter a busy intersection. I've talked to Jeep and they do not have a fix, but it is unsafe to drive at this point. I am waiting on a towing company at the moment to bring it to a Jeep dealership.

Oct 15, 2025

After an OTA update, while driving, the vehicle abruptly stopped working and I was forced to pull over. The check engine light went on and a message requesting service to the electric charging module was shown. After cycling power a few times the car worked again. This happened again on the way home. The manufacturer JeepCares account advised that the car needs to be towed to a dealer immediately.

Oct 15, 2025

I was driving from New York to DC when my car “bricked” on [XXX] my car advised me to go into park mode and began slowing down to a stop (I had no control over it) and luckily I was able pull over onto the shoulder to where I felt very unsafe and waited to restart my car. I was able to restart and try again and it bricked again about 10 minutes later. I was terrified and had a panic attack before being able to safely merge across lanes into a rest stop. I figured that if I switched into gas mode because it appeared to be an electrical problem that I might be able to continue my drive I started driving and not five minutes later I was stalled on a bridge. It was the scariest experience I’ve had probably ever in my life I had to completely shut down my car and restart it just to inch my way onto a shoulder after getting across a bridge with other cars going over 60 70 mph. Eventually I was able to disconnect the battery and reconnect it just in order to make it safely to a dealership with my father, following behind me. Because the check engine light went off when the battery was reconnected, when I got there, the dealership told me the diagnostic test showed no concerns and said that I could take the car and continue my drive. then 15 minutes after continuing my drive it stalled again, again on the highway! So I made my way back to the dealership and in the 10 miles that it took to get to the dealership the car stalled over five more times every single time it stalled I risked someone running into the back end of my car. I was told to contact Chrysler for a customer care case and they were not helpful at all. I was given a loaner that I couldn’t take out of state so I couldn’t get back to New York in a timely fashion so I had to wait in DC an extra day just to get my car back. I still don’t feel safe in the vehicle because a little software glitched caused such a major issue. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

In the middle of driving, with the new update alert of Uconnect Box (I wasn't updating the Uconnect), the car suddenly stops in the middle of the road and told me to shift to P (Parking) to Start while I am on D (Driving Mode), then, lost power and stopped. After turned it all the way off and back on, the CEL came on. The car would drive, proceeded on and within a few minutes, it did it again. Loss of power and it is telling me to shift to P and press Power to Start.

Friday, 10/10/25- And over the air update loaded via the radio. Online chatter had rumors of full loss of propulsion after the update, recommendation was to cancel the update to prevent failure. I cancelled the update multiple times. On Sunday afternoon, [XXX]- Uconnect software update ran anyway. Within 30 seconds of completion, the vehicle loss power on the highway, FULL motor/engine shut down on a busy highway. Warning lights and sounds galore, including "shift to park, service transmission." Pulled over, did a full key cycle/restart, vehicle had numerous dashboard warning lights on. Limped vehicle toward home. Would run for 30 seconds, then shut down again. Had to repeat this cycle 5 times to get home 1 mile. Absolutely no guidance from jeep, except for a few posts on social media pages. There was another software update that when through, and the vehicle seems to be working better now, but we do not trust it. Losing motive power on the highway with my wife and [XXX] child is a MAJOR safety issue, which could lead to injury or death. After a UConnect software update was performed the vehicle shutdown. Upon starting the vehicle the check engine light came on with several other dashboard lights and after driving the car for a few seconds the engine would shut down and would say to park and turn off vehicle. After a couple restarts and experiencing the same shutdown two more times I was able to drive in e-save but felt the vehicle was in limp mode and the engine light still remained illuminated. Called the Jeep dealership and explained the problem and the first thing they asked was did you just do a software update. I said yes and he said that’s the problem that they just had 35 Jeep Wrangler 4xe’s towed to their dealership yesterday. He said that Jeep does not have a fix for the issue as of yet. It throws a fault code P1E1D. So seems that the recent Uconnect software update is rendering all Jeep Wrangler 4xe’s useless.

Oct 14, 2025

On October 13, 2025, I experienced three separate incidents involving my Jeep Wrangler 4xe while driving in Hybrid Mode at approximately 35 mph. First incident: Around 5:10 PM, the vehicle suddenly lost speed, stalled erratically, and displayed the message “Shift to D to Drive” on the screen while the “D” on the gear selector was flashing. The check engine light also came on. I was able to safely pull over and restart the vehicle. Second incident: Around 5:13 PM, less than a mile later, the same issue occurred again while the check engine light remained on. I again pulled over and restarted the vehicle. Third incident: Around 5:20 PM, the same problem repeated for a third time. After the third occurrence, I called the dealership where I purchased the vehicle to report the issue. The service department representative immediately recognized the problem and informed me that 13–14 vehicles had already come in that same day with the same issue. Because I was only about 3 miles away, I drove carefully at low speed with my hazard lights on and dropped off the vehicle at the dealership. At the service center, the staff member stated that it might be an electrical issue possibly related to a recent Uconnect+ software update. However, I had not received any prior information, warnings, or recall alerts regarding this issue — neither through the Jeep app nor by email. I am especially concerned that the dealership was aware of multiple vehicles with the same issue yet provided no notification to affected owners. I later discovered that other Jeep Wrangler 4xe owners have reported the exact same issue — the dash blinking “D” while driving, sudden loss of motive power, and the message “Shift to D to Drive” appearing even though the vehicle was already in drive. These reports match my experience precisely, indicating that this is not an isolated problem. This is an extremely serious safety issue. On my drive, I abruptly had absolutely no acceleration, the gear indicator on the dash started flashing, the power mode indicator disappeared, an alert said shift into park and press the brake + start button, and the check engine light and red wrench lights came on. I was still able to steer and brake with power steering and brakes for maybe 30 seconds before those went out too. This happened in the middle on an intersection which was terrifying. After putting it into park and pressing the brake and start button it started back up and I could drive it normally for a little bit, but it happened two more times on my 1.5 mi drive home. I called AAA to tow it to the dealership (Herb Chambers Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM FIAT of Millbury, 2 Latti Farm Road). The dealership informed me that Jeep instructed them not to work on my vehicle. The dealership had me contact Jeep customer service myself on 10/13/25. I have called Jeep Customer Service three times with no update or communication from the case manager and I am without a vehicle as of the time of this submission. Both the dealership, Herb Chambers Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM FIAT of Millbury and Jeep Customer Service have not been cooperative or willing to assist me in this safety concern. I have lost a day and a half of work and still have no information or status update.

Software update caused power issue full speed driving

Oct 14, 2025

the vehicle turns off due to a software patch and not drivable. it turns off at highway speeds

Oct 14, 2025

The jeep die while I was driving on CR530. Check engine light came on and stuff flashed I quickly pulled over rto the shoulder. After ten minutes I was able to drive it into a dunkin donut shop but it turned off three times risking my life each time. I had my hazard lights on but people dont care. Called dealership and waited for the jeep to be towed

Oct 14, 2025

Car flashed “Shift to Park”, stalled in an intersection and now check engine light is on. This is related to Jeep’s ridiculous and unacceptable software issue. Despite a “fix” being allegedly issued by Jeep, this issue still happened today November 14th despite me never accepting their flawed software update. This is an ALARMING safety issue.

Oct 14, 2025

Installed a mandatory update to car electronics on Friday night (Oct. 10, 2025). The car -- an 8-month-old Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe 2024 -- literally died while driving on a local highway at highway speeds. All warning lights lit up. Then the car just died... Had it towed to the local dealership where 4 other people already were being processed with the same problem. Two others walked in while I was there. Dealership provided "Jeep Care" phone number but the office was closed over the weekend. Spent a weekend without a vehicle and contacted them on Monday at ~5:30 a.m. Pacific time. Spent almost an hour on the phone. (Phone call recorded.) was told that someone will contact us within 24 hrs to assist with vehicle rental/replacement while the issue is being resolved. It is Tuesday, Oct.14, 2025, afternoon. Spent multiple hours (!) on hold with "Jeep Care." No one knows what is going on. The dealership told me they have almost 100 cars on their lot with same problem. To date, no help from Jeep.

Oct 14, 2025

The 4xe system had a software update that ran and caused sudden lost of power. Vehicle has been at the dealership since September 15th and should be available for inspection. Upon completion of the update, the vehicle turned off and came to a quick stop. The vehicle did restart and while driving it, it died again. Second time it turned off, I was not able to move it from the traffic lane. Driving east in the morning facing the rising sun on a 55 MPH road. Yes, it was duplicated at the dealership after they thought it was repaired. Vehicle has been inspected by a Mopar Representative. No indication of complete loss of vehicle power and this occurred on September 15th.

Vehicle shutdown. Loss of motive power after updated software from Uconnect. Check engine light pop up and unable to drive

Oct 14, 2025

I was driving my vehicle on the highway at 60mph. The car turned itself off, I lost power steering and brakes and drove into a drainage culvert after almost hitting several cars. The vehicle would not restart initially and I had to wait 5 minutes before it started back up. It died 3 more times with in 1 mile before I made it to a safe area to park the vehicle. There was no warning before this happened.

Oct 14, 2025

Completed OTA update previous day. Driving the next day 1 mile into the drive the check engine light, went off, a warning on the dash said something about electrical stability system failure, showed a picture of the jeep with red electrical highlighted. The car ran very poorly, could not accelerate and the car slowed from 35 to 15. During this time the car flashed instructions to put the car in park. After about 1/2 mile I slowed to stop and put the Jeep in park. Restarted by pushing holding brake and pushing start button. Ran well for 10 + miles, then same thing happend again. The Jeep flashed engine warning light, dings and lights flashing. Had to into the left turn lane and came to stop at the stop light. Put the Jeep in park again, tried to restart but this time it did not restart. The gear stuck in Park with the P flashing on the indicator. Had to pull the emergency release cord to put Jeep into N to push to a safe location. Jeep failed to start or move from P and is at the shop now.

Oct 14, 2025

While driving on the road the vehicle suddenly loses power and shuts down. The check engine light illuminates and a message saying shift to park appears on the dashboard. You have no control of speed at this point. The vehicle stops and stalls in the middle of the road. Once you shift to park you have to completely shut off the vehicle while in the middle of the road and restart the engine. The vehicle will drive a few hundred feet and repeat the stall. It is completely scary and dangerous.

Oct 13, 2025

A serious safety issue that occurred earlier today. While driving with my family on the highway, my 2024 Wrangler 4xe suddenly shut down completely without warning. I was fortunate to pull over safely, but it could have resulted in a serious accident. A complete shutdown with no warning is extremely dangerous and there was no recall.

Oct 13, 2025

I was driving down the street and my car turned off in the middle of the road with an electrical stability control failure and brought me to a stop in the middle of the road of busy traffic. I turned the car off and back on, and it was able to get me to a parking lot before shutting off again. From there, I had to get it towed to the dealership out of concern for my safety. Looking into the issue online, looks like a software update I had installed the night before caused the failure and resulted in my car shutting off. This is a major safety concern for me.

Oct 13, 2025

I performed a software update on my 2024 Jeep Wrangler as prompted by the Uconnect system. Immediately after performing that update the next time I turned the car on the engine completely shut off, and the dashboard blinked shift to park and then drive. The engine continued intermittently, completely shutting off while driving. It became clear after an online search that this was a common issue happening to Jeep Wrangler users who had performed this software update. This was terrifying. Supposedly there is a fix in the form of a new software update, being pushed out, but I have not been able to power cycle. The vehicle into performing that software update to fix the car.

Oct 13, 2025

When driving at full speed vehicle shuts off and says to put into park. You cannot accelerate. Warning lights come on saying Antilock system failure, Hybrid system issues along with many other lights. You can be going 70 and it just turns off. We were driving from Sandusky Ohio home to Indiana and this happened. Our safety was put at risk fue to being on highways and out of nowhere our vehicle would lose acceleration and you would have to pull over and restart the car.

Oct 13, 2025

The car updated with the latest uConnect on Friday night. The next morning car drove fine for about .5 miles, the drive gear selector on the screen started to flash with no power to the car. The car had stopped accelerating in heavy traffic with no where to pull over on the side of the road. Performed same issues 3 times, after the third time the car went into limp mode. Had to be towed to dealer, it is currently in service on limp mode with no next steps

Oct 13, 2025

Loss of motive power. During normal operation, the vehicle suddenly loses a drive power and prompts user to shift into park and push the break before ignition. To reset, I had to stop the vehicle, shift into park and restart. This behavior repeated 4-5 times in an 2 mile trip. The dangerously degraded performance described above was preceded by an OTA software update on 10/11/2025.

Oct 13, 2025

Vehicle lost acceleration and power while driving on my way to work. I was able to restart the Jeep and get it off the road. I was able to pull the OBD codes from the Jeep; P1E1D. I then remembered the last time I drove the Jeep, it prompted for a uconnect update (OTA). This morning was the first time driving it since that update.

Oct 13, 2025

Check engine light went on while D on shifter simultaneously began flashing. Car lost power and steering locked.

Oct 13, 2025

I was driving the jeep in my neighborhood when the dashboard flickered and it told me to put the vehicle in park and press the "start" button (same message it would give when you get in the car and get ready to start it, except it was already running and I was driving). Vehicle seemed to lose some power assist features like steering. I wasn't going fast, so it was hard to tell exactly what switched off, but the brakes felt stiff as well. I was able to stop the Jeep, turned it off, and then back on... which *seemed* to resolve the issue but then I had a check engine light on. I have a small diagnostic tool so I plugged it in and it give me 3 codes about control modules experiencing an "improper wake up" (whatever that means). Thankful I was not on the interstate at highway speeds or it could have been very dangerous.

Oct 13, 2025

A recent computer upgrade was requested via the jeep computer system and initiated. The next day, while driving, the jeep kept losing power and the engine shut off multiple times. The check engine light went on after the loss of power but not before. There were no symptoms prior to the malfunction nor prior to the update that was initiated the night before. This was especially dangerous while highway driving. The jeep was brought to the dealership service department. The dealership service department stated they can not touch the jeep for this item until a fix is initiated by Stellantis.

Oct 13, 2025

The car stalled completely (‘Bricked’) while driving at approx 30mph. Everything cut off, power, steering, braked and the vehicle came to a stop in the road. I put the car in park and restarted it but the engine light has been on ever since. I took it to Jeep who told me to keep driving it unless it got worse and to call back in two days as they had a garage full of jeeps with the same problem.

Oct 13, 2025

other the air update on 10/10/2025 resulted in forced stalling of vehicle while in motion

Oct 13, 2025

As I was driving on the local road, the speed dropped to 0 mph and could not accelerate. The jeep shuts down in the middle of road. Put it back in the Park mode, restart, all lights including engine lights were ON. Drove another 100 ft and stop again and repeat the whole process. I was luckily within 2 miles of my home and was able to drag this back to home in 20 minutes with 5-7 stops. The other cars were honking and flashing as I keep stopping every 200 ft with no warning. Not sure if this is software issue as a lot of people are posting on facebook and other Jeep forums of having same problem between Friday 10/10/2025 and now. I towed the car back to the dealership on 10/13/25 and have no vehicle to drive for now.

Oct 13, 2025

Jeep lunched an OTA update on Friday October 10, 2025 in the afternoon (Los Angeles time area). I did the update when I came home and the next day when I started driving the car it abruptly stopped, signals were blinking including the engine system one and it was stating that I was experiencing an electric issue. It was also asking me to put the car in parking mode and I needed to shut off and restart the car to gain power again but it was stopping really quickly after again. I also have videos that I could not upload here if necessary to show exaclty what is happening.

Oct 13, 2025

The Jeep turns off at random times that I have to coast to a stop, put it in park, and then try and restart it again. That’s dangerous going down a highway and the Jeep to completely lose power and shut off or going through an intersection and having the Jeep shut off.

Oct 13, 2025

Did a OTA UConnect update that showed up Sat am 10/11/25 - CEL came on along with a wrench icon - Jeep experienced a total loss of power. Instrument display showed car was off and i coasted to a stop. was able to drop at dealer Saturday. tech at dealership indicated i was the 3rd one that morning and said another local dealer had 5 issues that morning. A check of the internet intimates there are anecdotally hundreds of affected Jeeps.

Oct 13, 2025

After the update it did, it will only drive like 20 feet. We lost acceleration and power in the middle of a busy road numerous times. Had to restart the vehicle every time. Severe safety issue, we had to coast into an intersection through a red light because we couldn’t stop because the engine kept stalling.

Hybrid Mode not available. Replacement of Coolant Electric Heater at 2,834 miles. 6/10/25 back to dealer due to vehicle overheating while driving. Vehicle towed. October 10, 2025, vehicle towed to dealer at approximately 3,950 miles as vehicle stopped on roadway without warning. This happened repeatedly in effort to get vehicle home. Investigation confirms that this is likely due to a software update. Investigation confirms that this is specific to the 2024-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. This is extremely dangerous and we are fortunate there was no collision from another vehicle. Vehicle is set to be inspected Tuesday morning, 10/14/25.

While driving the car just shit off.. put it in park put my hazzards on and started the car back up. Put it to the test again while backing out of the driveway and it shut off while I’m reverse. The stereo has been glitching for about a couple of month where it constantly has to reboot while driving. It has now caused the issues for the whole car to just die while in motion.. this is I huge safety issue especially with younger kids. If I was on the highway when this would have happened who knows how much more fatal this could have been. I do a ton of highway driving and that’s all we have used the car for and for drive around our small town. I fear that even taking it to the dealership to get it fixed I am not sure i am comfortable in its after features it has..

Oct 13, 2025

While driving on the freeway, the vehicle shut off, many lights came on including the D blinking. It instructed me to place in P to turn on.

Oct 13, 2025

Vehicle shut down in the middle of driving. Went into limp mode. Then would only run in gas mode at half power.

Oct 13, 2025

While driving on the highway, the car just stops. It says to put it in park and turn on the car engine light comes up. A wrench comes on had to be towed to the dealership. Chrysler is very aware of the issue gave us no warning not to drive the cars I couldn’t have been killed. I was driving on the highway on my car just shut down.

Updated the center screen and minutes later, my Wrangler popped and the frontal collision, CEL, Stability Trak lights came on And the truck came to a halt in traffic on a busy street. I shockingly was not hit, and got the truck to the side of the road. And I was able to army crawl the truck to the dealership. The vehicle was grinding gears and the 4xe system was completely inoperable. This was extremely dangerous.

Oct 13, 2025

While driving my 2024 4XE, the engine would automatically turn off and the message would display that I needed to pull over put it in park and restart the car. Engine light then popped on after that so I took it to the local auto shop. nothing was coming up on their computer. Decided it was probably just a bit of a fluke. Decided to leave there and head to the grocery store while driving on a main road with multiple cars around my vehicle did it again thank God I was able to manage safely to get the car into a parking lot. Called up our dealership was able to safely get the vehicle to the dealership same day. Engine shut off at least four times and that small 1 hour window of driving.

Oct 13, 2025

Jeep over the air update caused my car to shut off completely in the middle of an intersection. I had to come to a complete and violent stop and restart the car. This happened three more times trying to get home - with kids in the car - though thankfully subsequent times were kess precarious because I took side streets and was careful.

Oct 12, 2025

Immediately after installing a system update, car shut off/stalled while driving. Attempts to restart and continue driving only resulted in minimal forward progress. Very scary and very dangerous situation to have car just stop functioning while driving.

Oct 12, 2025

A software update was installed overnight on 10/10/25 by the manufacturer. During this time the vehicle remained garaged. On 10/11/25 I attempted to drive the vehicle. It started fine but when I put it into “drive” and began pulling out of our garage, it only went about 15 feet before it came to an abrupt stop on its own and shut off. I restarted it and now the check engine light is on. Looking for answers, I went to the 4xe forum where I see a ton of messages from other Jeep customers having the same issue with this model year after this software update. I called the Jeep dealership where I purchased it last spring and was told they’ve had a bunch of calls today and I should not drive it and should have it towed to them on Monday so they can investigate the issue.

Oct 12, 2025

On 10/11/25 approximately 9pm my vehicle completed an OTA update initiated by the manufacturer. Upon completion of the update, I went for a drive. At approximately 30 mph, the vehicle suddenly shut off, shifted into neutral, and ceased to operate leaving me stranded in the middle of the road. The vehicle would not start, shift into neutral, or operate in any manner. Several warning instrument lights came on. After about 30 minutes, the vehicle started and continued to loose power several times before I could get it back home. We were lucky that we were not rear ended. There are hundreds of complaints on social media referring to the same situation for other Jeep 4xe vehicles after completing the OTA update. Stellantis has not issued any official statement regarding this. This is a situation that could result in serious injury or death to many as the vehicle suddenly loses all functionality with no warning. Check engine light is now on the dash.

Oct 12, 2025

I was driving on the freeway when the vehicle randomly shut off and jolted me and my passengers. After turning the car off then back on the vehicle would drive fonafew miles and then repeat jolt and shut off. This seems to be linked to a software update that I did last night.

Oct 12, 2025

Car lost power as I was driving with an errors and just stopped working. As I was trying to get home this happened twice. I had to pull over and follow the prompts on screen. Seems like there was a bad update that has cause all 2024 Wrangler 4xe’s to do this. This is a huge problem really dangerous and inconvenient. This jeep is my only vehicle. I need a vehicle to drive. I called the dealership and they have no idea how to help me or fix this issue.

Oct 12, 2025

Vehicle suddenly shuts off while driving. Many other Wrangler owners (especially of 2024 models) are reporting same issue and saying it is due to recent Uconnect update. My issue also started after this update this past week. Has happened twice since the update on 10/10/2025. Very serious safety issue that can cause crashes from behind.

Oct 12, 2025

The vehicle lost significant power while driving. I was only able to go 30mph, then a message told me to restart the vehicle with the brake pressed and start button. Then after it restarted I drove and it would only go 11 mph. Research online has indicated numerous jeep wrangler owners having this issue after applying an over the air update. The vehicle slowed down rapidly, this was very dangerous and put my family at risk. Since there was no brake lights indicated a slow down, vehicles behind me had to abruptly slow down. This could have cause an accident. The check engine light came on and has stayed on. This happened on 11 October 25, which is a Saturday, the dealerships closed by the time I was able to get address this issue due to family commitments. The dealerships are also not open on Sunday.

Oct 12, 2025

Once or twice per day vehicle brakes will lock up while accelerating from a stop. This usually occurs between 15 and 20 mph. It is a random occurrence. Also, after UConnect update, vehicle will lose power after driving for approximately 1 mile, requiring that the car be turned off and restarted. the car is drivable again for only another mile, then repeats the issue. Check engine light turns on.

Oct 12, 2025

My 2024 Jeep Rubicon 4xe has experienced three separate incidents of complete power loss following the October 10, 2025 Uconnect software update (version FCA-MY24.U33.43-PROD). In two cases, the failure occurred while crossing active intersections, where the vehicle abruptly lost acceleration, flashed gear indicators, and displayed a “Shift to Park and Press Brake + Start Button” message. The vehicle became unresponsive and required a lengthy restart. These incidents posed serious safety risks to myself, my young driver, and surrounding drivers. I’ve attempted resets and reviewed Jeeps online community, Jeep connect app, but no fix is available. Multiple owners are reporting identical failures online, suggesting a widespread and massive software fault. I urge NHTSA to investigate this issue and compel Jeep to issue a rollback or patch to restore safe operation immediately. I am also requesting NHTSA to legally require these vehicles to be disabled immediately until a robust fix is available to avert life threatening consequences. I cannot believe Jeep has not done this on their own!!!

Oct 12, 2025

While driving, Jeep stalled out/became unresponsive, D started flashing on gear shift panel and dashboard, check engine light came on and dashboard message said: "shift to P to start" "Press brake & Push button to start" While jeep was already ON and was driving. Very dangerous!! This happened 4x in 1 mile radius. Had to put in P, shut off and restart but kept happening. Luckily was able to maneuver/glide jeep to parking lot but this sudden loss of power is extremely dangerous. I could’ve been rear-ended or worse each time it happened. Per Jeep forums this occurred after a Uconnect update. Several Jeep Owners are having the same issue with no word from Jeep. This update was done on a Friday evening (10/10/25) of holiday weekend. No one is available in service department until Tuesday (10/14/25). According to JeepCares Forum… it was a telematics box module update.

Oct 12, 2025

While driving the vehicle “shuts down “ and you can only coast and try to find somewhere to pull over. I had to avoid highways so that I had a place to pull over. Extremely dangerous

Oct 12, 2025

Following a software update on 10/10/25, our vehicle can no longer be driven safely. Repeatedly loses power, power steering, etc. This issue is impacting thousands of Jeep owners nationwide. Please investigate and help resolve before people lose lives.

Oct 12, 2025

Software update on 10/10/25. In afternoon. Accepted update over our home wifi. [XXX] left house at [XXX] to go to Gunnison to visit our kids. After I pulled out of the driveway the car shut off. I started it again and drove a block car shut off again. Switched to e-save and drove the car down to mailbox. As I pulled into mailbox center the car shut off again. I restarted noted the check engine light and drove home. Called Perkins motors in colorado springs. Got an appointment to bring the car in at 1pm. Drove straight to the dealers service. They asked if I did a software update, which I confirmed. They said other 4xe owners had experienced the same issue. The checked in the car and we ran into someone else with the exact same issue in the waiting room. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Oct 12, 2025

My car did an automatic UConnect update. I went to dinner, got back in my car an hour later and about 2minutes later while driving, my engine shut off and and the Press Break and Push Start came on. I had no power at all while making a turn through an intersection. I pulled over as much as I could, powered off the vehicle completely. Waited a minute and it started back up, but now the engine light was on. Was able to make it home (7miles) but was vey concerned about it shutting off again, at night while driving home. Dealer can’t get my vehicle in for a week!

Oct 12, 2025

I was driving on the highway with my son and the jeep completely lost power at 65mph. The gas would not work and the dash was telling me to put the car in park and press the start button. I had to move to the right lane and coast to the side of the highway and restart the Jeep. This continued to happen 2 more times. This is very unsafe and I will not drive this car.

Oct 12, 2025

Jeep pushed out an over-the-air update to UConnect on 10/10/25, which I installed. After installing the update, my car completely shut off in the middle of an intersection. I could have been killed. I restarted the cr, and it continued to do this every few minutes all the way home. I tried to call Jeep and they said they could not help me because the update came from Stellantis. It was well documented and numerous other folks seem to be impacted [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Oct 12, 2025

Was driving on highway at speed of 60mph then the vehicle loss motive and drifted with no power. Check engine light came on and was able to move to the shoulder. I was able to restart the vehicle but would move for a min then loose power again. Didn't matter whether on electric, hybrid,or gas.

Oct 12, 2025

Jeep performed over the air update to the telematics box module. After update the vehicle, while in drive and running, driving on a public road way, set off a dash message to “place car in park to start”. Then suddenly can to a very violent stop in traffic. This could have cause an accident or loss of life. Vehicle is at jeep dealer waiting on fix. Thousands of 4xE hybrid jeeps are effected.

Oct 12, 2025

I was driving down and my vehicle lost power. I was able to steer and brake but the gas wouldn’t work. I was able to pull off and restart the vehicle and it did it again with a short amount of time.

Oct 12, 2025

Updated my jeep (per the prompt) on 10/11. Subsequently Lost power steering and power while driving. Had to turn off the car and restart it. Not safe to drive and unpredictable.

Oct 12, 2025

Pulled vehicle out of the garage. Stopped with foot on the brake. Let off the brake to drive and the check engine light came on along with a red light on the gauge cluster with a red wrench. Warning came on the screen saying put vehicle in park and press the start stop button. Vehicle turned back on and the screen said no hybrid power available. Drove down my driveway and complete loss of power. Screen again said put vehicle back in park and press start stop button. Again the vehicle started and I returned to my driveway and parked the vehicle. Check engine light remained on when vehicle was on.

Oct 12, 2025

My vehicle completely shut down while driving after a reported connect update issue on 10/10. I was driving down the highway on 10/12 and it completely lost power.

Oct 12, 2025

While driving in town, this vehicle lost power 3 times in 2 blocks. I had to put it in park and restart it each time. It resembles the problem reported as being recalled on 2021-2023 Wranglers, this one is a 2024. I drive on the highway an hour to and from work and am very concerned this could cause a major accident resulting in injury and/or death.

Oct 12, 2025

Vehicle completely lost power while driving nearly resulting in an accident. Engine cut off and loss of power occured including power steering. Vehicle stated to put car in park while Vehicle was still in motion. Vehicle restarted but then the same thing happened. This occured 4 more times. I was able to make it to the dealership near by. I had young children in the car at the time.

Oct 12, 2025

Coming out of our driveway, the Jeep randomly flashed D at us and told us to put the car in park to restart. We thought that was weird as it was, but it only got worse from there. Well over 30 minutes later, while driving northbound I35 in the left lane, we experienced full power failure. We had to make it across three lanes of traffic in the midst of a busy highway with 18-wheelers all around using the only energy left over from our 70mph drive. Once we were on the side of the highway, we were finally able to get the Jeep on and moving again. At this point, the check engine light is on. We were just trying to make it to the next city so we could make a plan, and everything was fine for about 2 more miles. We got onto a bridge and the power failed again. Now, even though we opted to stay in the right lane out of fear for our safety, we have nowhere to go, no shoulder, just guard rail and whatever was below, and still have traffic all around us going at speed. We took the access roads where we could, but the car continued to lose power at a faster rate. Finally, at the Jeep Dealership in Hillsboro, the service team plugged the jeep in and said a code was thrown but they would not look at it until Monday.

Oct 12, 2025

Vehicle received a UConnect update on 10/10/25. The next morning the vehicle was only able to drive 2-3 blocks before the engine lost power, check engine light turned on, and the board directed me to shift the car into park and start the car. I was able to restart the car and it did the exact same thing within 200-300 feet. I was able to get the car to the dealership so they can look into how to resolve. There are a lot of postings online with others experiencing the same thing (some losing power when they were driving down the highway). All appear to be related to the UConnect update. Don’t feel safe driving the car not knowing when it will lose power again.

Oct 12, 2025

After an update on 10/10/2025 when arriving home, the next morning 10/11/2025 while driving the check engine light came on and I lost all power less than a mile from home. I turned off the jeep, turned it back on and proceeded to try and drive to the next drive way to turn around and go home. In under a half mile, I lost power again (at 55mph). Got it restarted and turned into the drive way to turn around. When turning left out of the driveway, I lost power a third time and my jeep would not restart. I was across two lanes of traffic and we needed to push the jeep back into the driveway, but the auto brake kept engaging. Had Jeep towed to a dealership.

Oct 11, 2025

Updated the Uconnect Software, went grocery shopping, on way home from store car completely shut down on the highway, said to put it in park to restart. Software updates shouldn’t cause complete power failure.

Oct 11, 2025

Car lit up while driving with multiple warnings, check traction control, check charging system, etc. wouldn’t power off or drive or go into neutral. Had to tow. Stranded in dangerous area with no warning.

Oct 11, 2025

Car engine cut off completely 3 separate times during a short 1.2 mile trip through neighborhood (20-25mph). Car prompted me to put car in park and start engine. I had to coast to side of road, stop, park, then restart engine each time. 30 seconds between each start/failure. Scary!! Car had 80% hybrid battery charge before I left the house. Infotainment prompted me for an OTA update earlier in the day - coincidence?? Check engine light turned on. OBD2 fault code P1e1d. I've owned the car for 2.5 months with no prior issues.

Oct 11, 2025

A software update for the Uconnext system was pushed to the vehicle and accepted. Immediately after the car said the system was updated, the vehicle engine stopped completely, and the whole dashboard shut down. Restarted the car, but this repeated several times in a very short distance. The “D” was blinking in the transmission. It was barely possible to pull the vehicle over, as all power was lost. After some time stopped and waiting for a tow truck, driver pushed the factory reset button to reset the system. After factory reset, the car operated normally.

Oct 11, 2025

Car stoped in the middle of the road, won’t shift out of park. All this after an “update”

Oct 11, 2025

This issue happens after an update on the car. Within 10 minutes after the car update the engine light came on and the car shut down on the road completely unable to drive . Without a warning, car stop to a complete shutdown while driving. My safety was at risk 5 times almost got into a car accident due to this issue where the car completely stopped while driving. Steering wheel completely locks when the car shuts down.

Oct 11, 2025

We’ve experienced multiple ongoing issues with this vehicle, and the dealership’s only suggestion so far has been to file a lemon law claim. Last month, the car began jerking excessively while driving typically at speeds between 35–45 mph. The best way to describe it is that it feels as though all the wheels lock up at once, causing a loud tire-screeching noise. It was a frightening experience. The dealership claimed to have resolved the issue with a “software update.” However, just last night, my wife was stranded on the highway when the car suddenly started shutting down mid-drive, similar to what happens when a vehicle runs out of gas. The maximum speed she could reach was about 20 mph, and the check engine light came on. She switched from hybrid mode to eSave (gas-only mode), which allowed her to get home safely. This morning, she tested it again. The check engine light was initially off, but after a short drive, it came back on and the vehicle started shutting down again. This Jeep is a lease, and despite being in the shop five times three of those for a full week the dealership continues to “service” it without providing a real solution. We are extremely concerned about the vehicle’s safety and reliability at this point.

Oct 11, 2025

After the the latest U-connect update, my jeep will not run after about 30 seconds while driving. Stalls while in motion. Will restart, but then shuts off again. Has an engine code on dash.

Oct 11, 2025

Jeep pushed out an OTA update for their Uconnect system. Upon completion of this update, that occurred while I was driving, I lost control of my vehicle. My steering wheel locked up, all of the lights on my dashboard started flashing, and I was instructed to pull the jeep over. I was unable to operate the vehicle and had to be towed.

Oct 11, 2025

When I pulled my Jeep 4xe into my garage, I got an alert on my radio saying my Jeep needed to updated. I selected to go ahead and update it. The next time I drove my vehicle, I made it about a quarter mile. When I was crossing an intersection, all of the lights on my dash went crazy and my Jeep completely shut down. Luckily I could put it into neutral to coast through the busy intersection. It was very scary. I had to pull over, turn it off and back on again. It did start up and continued to drive. Now my check engine light is on.

Oct 11, 2025

Performed a UCONNECT Software update om 10/10 and about 1 hour later, while driving, it shutdown. i rolled off to side of road, engine light is on, it is completely unusable. Guess I am. towing it to dealership. Again this happened while i was driving.

Oct 11, 2025

Took uConnect update last night. Upon driving after update, jeep looses power and shuts down. Everything on dash lights up. Wants you to put vehicle in park. Throws a check engine light. Upon restart check engine light stays on, go a few miles and Jeep repeats the process.

Oct 11, 2025

After an update of the Uconnect system the vehicle will break on its one while driving and shut off. Check engine light remains on. Multiple diagnostic error codes appear.

Oct 11, 2025

My jeep suddenly lost power and “service hybrid vehicle system” popped up 6 times. The engine had suddenly cut at 70mph. The was the morning after I had an over the air update from Jeep. It has not done this before.

Oct 11, 2025

After the software update on 10/10, the car is randomly dying while driving and getting a check engine light code P1E1D. Car will lose all power while moving, telling me to shift to park to start car. Widespread reports online of the same thing after the update. Called service center and Jeep support and they are clueless.

Oct 11, 2025

Jeep pushed a Uconnect update on 10/10/2025 which I installed, caused my vehicle to shut off completely during driving on a main road shortly after leaving my home. All engine and dash lights came on, coult not take the vehicle out of drive. The shifter was stuck. I turned the vehicle off then moved shifter back to park and started it again. It continued to do this every few feet. This is extremely dangerous and could cause major accidents to happen.

Oct 11, 2025

The vehicle did an over-the-air update to the vehicles software, u connect. The vehicle has since suffered two losses of propulsion while driving, with check engine light indicator illumination and a P1E1D code. This has been reported by numerous other 2024 4xe drivers.

Oct 11, 2025

After an over-the-air update of the Uconnect system on 10/10/25 the vehicle repeatedly lost propulsion. In each instance I abruptly had absolutely no acceleration, the gear indicator on the dash started flashing, the power mode indicator (electric/hybrid/esave) disappeared, an alert said shift into park and press the brake + start button, and the check engine light and red wrench lights came on. I was still able to steer and brake with power steering and brakes for maybe 30 seconds before those went out too. After putting it into park and pressing the brake and start button it started back up and I could drive it normally for a little bit, but it happened two more times on a 1.5 mi drive. This is a serious safety issue. I read the check engine code which was P1E1D

Oct 11, 2025

Jeep pushed a software update on 4xe models on 10-10-2025. Today on 10-11-25 I pulled out of my driveway drove less than 100 feet and lost power. The check engine light came on vehicle said to switch to park and start the vehicle. This happens four times trying to turn around in a 2 block radius to get home. With the vehicle parked I turned it on kept my foot on the brake vehicle in drive and it continues to occur. Dealership said they had several 4xe towed in and multiple calls. Jeep customer service claims they are unaware of the issue. My 2024 Jeep is not drivable.

Oct 11, 2025

Software update causes vehicle to completely loose power after two minutes or so of driving. Very serious problem and dangerous. Requires stopping vehicle immediately and rebooting. Happens again and again.

Oct 11, 2025

The vehicle did an over the air update once we pulled into a restaurant. While driving home after the update the vehicle stopped in the middle of the road and had no power. The dash said to move the shifter to park and all the warning lights including the check engine light is on. We turned power off and back on and was able to go 1 mile home before it shut off In The driveway with all the same lights and no power.

Oct 11, 2025

Got an OTA Update last night, this morning saw some post on the internet about that update went to check my jeep and it came on but once it kicks the gas engine for like 2 or 3 seconds the vehicle shut off and asked to shift to park, if I don’t see this internet news I’d have been stranded on the road

Oct 11, 2025

While driving the car shut down. We had to come to a stop to put it in park to restart. Thankfully we were in a a parking lot after one incidence and once on a side road. We would be in a very dangerous situation if we had been on the highway. Our dealer service center said it might be a software update issue but they are not sure. These incidents did occur immediately after a software update. The check engine light did come on a stayed on after the shut down.

Oct 11, 2025

Vehicle did over the air software update overnight. First drive the vehicle after approximately half a mile engine stalled out electronics went off. Vehicle lost communication with key would not restart. MIL light showing many codes on reader. Several power cycles vehicle run, but cut out further three times once on a freeway underpass. The hazard flashing lights would not work dead on key. Restarted it after five seconds limped to parking lot. Came back after shopping vehicle seems OK. Very dangerous issue complete loss of power.

Oct 11, 2025

Vehicle completely shuts off while driving. Forced to come to a stop and restart. Started happening after over the air update to the u connect system. Happens 6 times on 20 mile drive.

Oct 11, 2025

Completed the 'Uconnect' Update last night. This morning it drove for about 30 seconds before it completely shut down and the check engine light came on. Neither the electric, hybrid or gas engine would work. I was able to have it drift/coast to the left to park it. Turned it off and back on and it made it home. It was then towed to the dealership. My safety would be at risk if someone hadn't realized what was happening and had run into me. The vehicle has been taken to the shop, they won't diagnose it until Monday, but I did send them a video of the error. No warning lights prior to the car losing power.

Oct 11, 2025

The Jeep stop while driving reduced speed, the dashboard said shift to P AND that it was not safe to drive due to performance. The check engine light is on and will not turn off, the jeep will not drive in electric mode. Also there was an update with Uconnect.

Oct 11, 2025

2024 Hybrid. Vehicle shuts down while driving. Driver had to pull over to shut vehicle down and then restart it. Very dangerous situation.

Oct 11, 2025

I was slowing down for a stoplight vehicle shut off, came to an abrupt stop and shifted itself into Park. I then had to use the shifter knob to adjust it to Park to get the vehicle to turn on. This almost caused and rear end accident as I was not fully to the stop line area of for the light. The vehicle would then not go over 2500 RPMs and had to be limped off of the roadway. There were no warnings before this happened. All of it happened in a split second and my partner and I were jolted forward. I immediately reported this to the jeep dealership and they were very concerned about this. After this incident, my service engine light came on and stayed on later in the day it disappeared on its own without any clearing of any devices. I have attached pictures of what showed up as warning lights as soon as this incident happened.

Oct 11, 2025

While driving, a warning suddenly appeared stating “Electronic Stability Control Failure.” Immediately afterward, the vehicle stopped accelerating and automatically shifted from RUN to ACC mode with no throttle response or acceleration control. Traffic was moderate, and when the vehicle abruptly lost propulsion, several cars behind me had to brake hard and nearly collided with my vehicle. I was able to coast and pull off the roadway safely, but it was a dangerous situation that could easily have caused an accident. This failure occurred without warning, and the vehicle has a history of prior powertrain and driver-assistance system issues, including repeated “Four Wheel Drive Service” and “Electric Power Steering Fail” warnings earlier in 2025. The most recent event on October 11, 2025, was the most severe and created a serious safety hazard. Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Mileage: approximately 10,000 miles Condition: Leased, well maintained, all service performed at authorized Jeep dealership

Oct 11, 2025

I accepted a uconnect software update last night and this morning lost complete power while diving my jeep multiple times. I had to pull over on busy streets, put the vehicle in park, turn on/off the vehicle a couple times and got it to start again. The check engine light has been on since. I went to the dealership and they said they’ve received multiple complaints today as well. I have it home and not drivable.

Oct 11, 2025

After performing the over the air Uconnect update my vehicle stopped moving in the middle of traffic. An error message said service charging system, and put into P and start vehicle. Me and my family were in danger. I was able to finally reset vehicle and pull into a safe parking area.

Oct 11, 2025

After software update jeep will not drive

Oct 11, 2025

My car was stalling out every 30 second while I was driving. The dash would immediately tell me to put my car in park. Once I put my car in park, my car would lock up and not let me shift back into drive unless I turned the car off and back on again. This is extremely dangerous as my car just shuts down mid driving. The car is currently at the dealership being inspected and they have not fully confirmed what’s going on. The check engine light came on also the low tire pressure came on as well even though I did not have low tire pressure because it was showing my gauge in my gauge was normal.

Oct 11, 2025

While driving my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN: [XXX] ), the vehicle suddenly lost all motive power without warning. The accelerator pedal became completely unresponsive, the “D” indicator on the gear selector began blinking, and the vehicle coasted to a stop in traffic. It would not restart for several minutes. This has occurred multiple times since purchase. The most concerning incident happened earlier this year while driving on a freeway with my wife and two young children, the vehicle abruptly shut down in active lanes of traffic, forcing us to coast to the shoulder while cars passed at highway speed. On [XXX] the same failure occurred four times within a ten-minute drive home. Each time, the Wrangler became undriveable and required several minutes before it would restart. The vehicle is currently at Simi Valley Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram for inspection (Service Order #[XXX]). The service advisor stated that multiple Wrangler 4xe vehicles were brought in for the same issue that morning. They also stated that the Wrangler 4xe has faced this issue for years and were not surprised by my story. The defect appears related to the hybrid powertrain control system or high-voltage electrical components. The problem has been reproduced and reported to Stellantis Customer Care as a serious safety concern. No warning lamps or messages appeared before the loss of power, only the blinking “D” indicator afterward. The vehicle and affected components are available for inspection upon request. This defect poses a severe risk of crash or injury due to sudden, total power loss while driving. Dealership confirmed multiple similar 4xe vehicles with the same stalling issue that day. This appears to be part of an ongoing pattern consistent with NHTSA investigation RQ24012 for loss of motive power in Jeep Wrangler 4xe models. Oct 11, 2025

Today while driving on my street in Electric mode at ~25-30 mph, suddenly an alarm dinged and the “D” on the transmission started flashing and the “check engine” light came on. I lost power to the drivetrain (pressing the accelerator pedal did nothing) and an alert on the screen said to press the brake pedal and start button to start the car. I pulled over, turned it off, then turned it back on again. It started driving but then the same thing happened after ~1 minute. Luckily I was in my neighborhood and not on a highway, so I was able to pull over. It was a bit scary because as the Jeep was almost to a stop (but still moving) suddenly the power steering gave out. Luckily I was near the curb. I repeated the same process, drove for one minute, repeat, one minute, repeat. The check engine light was on the whole time. This behavior has been documented by other Jeep owners on the internet and appears to be a software issue. Having the vehicle randomly shut down while driving is INCREDIBLY dangerous.

Oct 11, 2025

Jeep pushed an update and now the vehicle randomly turns off in mid driving. you cannot put the car in neutral and must power cycle it. sometimes the car immediately stalls again this is unbelievably dangerous as it can happen at high speeds.

Oct 11, 2025

After an over the air update the vehicle now goes into limp mode and forces me to put the vehicle in park. The vehicle now has a check engine light. Also some of the functions like regenerative braking and power steering shut them selves off

Oct 11, 2025

The car performed an automatic update last night. Driving it today, the car automatically shut down multiple times on a busy street. My life was in danger multiple times. There is no solution and this is negligence.

Oct 11, 2025

A software update was installed yesterday, and I almost died on a busy interstate when my vehicle shut down and would not restart. The jeep software update is causing THOUSANDS of vehicles to shut down. I literally had to wait hours for police to show up to clear the road so we could safely tow the vehicle. I come to home look on the Jeep forums and LOTS of people had the same issues.

Oct 11, 2025

After Jeep pushed over air update on 10/10/25, car experiences sudden and complete loss of power. Vehicle basically dies while in motion and had to wait until it stops to restart. In less than .5 mile, this happened 5 times.

Oct 11, 2025

Software update sent to vehicle 10/10/2025. Allowed update as I was parked for afternoon. In the evening I attempted to drive for dinner. Vehicle suddenly lost propulsion, all warning lights came on, vehicle went to neutral, lost power steering, coasted to sudden stop and message stated shift to park and press start. Which I did. Same thing happened again in just a few feet in the middle of an intersection nearly causing an accident. Jeep is not answering their phones. Dealership is saying to have it towed. I want Stellantis to take this vehicle back. Too many issues.

Oct 11, 2025

While driving at any rate of speed the vehicle would take over, shutting down driver control with a message on the dashboard saying to put vehicle in park. After pulling over to shut vehicle off, I would turn it back on, and was allowed to drive until this occurred again. A message would come up to service hybrid system.

Oct 11, 2025

Over the air update on 10/10/25, disabled my Wrangler. Engine light is on, vehicle shuts down, turns off while driving, continuous error messages, unable to operate vehicle safely, it will not stay running while driving. Within 20 miles, it shut down six times while driving on the highway. As of this date and time, Jeep, Mopar, Stellantis have not offered any guidance, assistance or potential fixes.

Oct 11, 2025

Moments after installing a software update as instructed in my dashboard, my vehicle came to an immediate halt while driving on a busy freeway. The dashboard displayed instructions to shift the vehicle in park and restart the vehicle. I managed to move the vehicle onto the shoulder and completed these steps to regain control of the vehicle. I completed the rest of my commute on local roads, and this incident occurred two more times before I arrived home. This is not an isolated incident. Many users have reported similar incidents and accidents associated with the recent software update. I contacted Jeep to document this concern. However, they took no responsibility and offered no guidance to rectify the issue. This vehicle is only one year old and is now unsafe to drive.

Oct 11, 2025

There was an OTA update pushed to my Jeep last night. Since I had just bought the Jeep 6 days ago I thought it was needing to catch up on updates so I let it update. Now when I attempt to drive it the Jeep will randomly SHUT OFF while driving at any speed and prompt me to shift to Park and a check engine light comes on. When I coast to a stop and shift to park and push the button to start it again it comes back on with a CEL. It will continue to do this until I just park it and don’t drive it.

Oct 11, 2025

Over the air Software update for uconnect caused the vehicle to lose power and power steering at 60mph on the freeway only ten minutes after installing the update. Vehicle now loses power when attempting to drive with hybrid mode on. Vehicle is inoperable and unsafe to drive until Stellantis reverts this OTA update. All 2024 MY or newer Jeep Wrangler 4XE that received the update are impacted.

Oct 11, 2025

Downloaded an update - vehicle shuts off - very dangerous

Oct 11, 2025

On October 11, 2025, in the morning, shortly after installing a software update recommended by Jeep via the vehicle's infotainment screen panel, I experienced a sudden and complete loss of vehicle power while driving on the road at approximately 45 mph. This failure prevented me from controlling the vehicle, as the steering wheel locked up, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and into a ditch. I was able to restart the vehicle, and it initially appeared to operate normally. However, the same issue recurred within 60 seconds of restarting the engine, with another sudden loss of power and steering control. This defect nearly resulted in a serious collision, posing a significant risk of bodily injury to myself and other motorists on the road. No injuries occurred, but the incident could have been catastrophic at highway speeds. I believe this may be related to a software or electrical defect in the vehicle, potentially linked to the recent update. I request that NHTSA investigate this as a potential safety recall issue, as similar complaints of power loss and steering failures after software updates have been reported in Jeep models. Please contact me for additional details or documentation.

Oct 11, 2025

The engine shut off itself while driving on the freeway with highway speed, with warning message shift to P to start, after recent OTA update from jeep on Friday night. Forcing me to stall on the freeway and almost cause crash. Look like this is wild spread issue affecting all 2024 jeep 4xe after update and I dropped my car to dealership twice today but they not able to fix it. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Oct 11, 2025

After downloading the latest UConnect update, I turned on my Jeep and started my drive. About 500 feet later all the dash lights came on, told me to shift into drive to drive (I was) and I lost all power and steering control. I turned the Jeep off and back on and I could drive. This time I made it 1/4 mile and it shut off again, same situation in the middle of an intersection making a left turn. I was nearly hit by other vehicles and had to rely on the downhill slope to roll into the closest parking lot. The software update is bricking all 4xe jeeps that download the software update. UConnect help said they didn’t have a solution and to call Jeep Customer Support. I called them and a man answered the phone and said “we can’t help, call back on Monday” and hung up. I called my dealership and they didn’t know what was wrong with it either. I now do not have a vehicle until Tuesday at the soonest due to the holiday and the weekend.

Oct 11, 2025

Immediately following a Uconnect software update performed around 11:00 AM on October 11, 2025, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe stalled multiple times while driving on the highway. The vehicle lost power and became inoperable, creating an extremely dangerous situation. I was transporting my child at the time. Trouble Code: P1E1D. Number of Stalls: 3 total (1 on highway, 2 shortly after). The dealer confirmed they had received around 12 other Wrangler 4xe vehicles towed in the same day for the same issue, and another nearby dealer reported over 15. I have since learned through online owner forums that many other 2024 Wrangler 4xe owners are experiencing identical failures after the same software update within the last 48 hours. Jeep/Stellantis has not issued any public statement or safety notice. This is a critical safety hazard affecting many vehicles and should be treated as a potential defect related to the most recent Uconnect update.

Oct 11, 2025

After a software update the Jeep has issues with power, it powers off completely and I have to pull over and put it in park, then restart it only to be able to drive .5 mile before it shuts down again.

Oct 11, 2025

Installed telematics box module update on 10/10/25. Now the Jeep is continuously saying to service the electronic assistance system and will lose complete power while driving and display the “shift to Park” and service engine light is on (lost power 3 times in less than a 2 mile distance).

Oct 11, 2025

After automatic update, the vehicle lost propulsion and stopped at the middle of the road. All lights came on. Lost power steering as well. Restarting the car clears the lights except check engine light. It happened 2 more times on my way home.

Oct 11, 2025

After completing an update on the vehicle, I tried driving home and the vehicle started jerking and stopped accelerating in the middle of the road, luckily no cars close behind me but it could have ended badly.

Oct 11, 2025

When driving on a main road, my engine suddenly lost power with no advance warning. I was forced to coast to side of the road in order to put it back in Park and restart the engine. This happened 7 times during a 10 mile drive. It continues to happen no matter the distance driven

Oct 11, 2025

My vehicle is no longer working properly after the most recent update that happened on 10/10 my vehicle experienced weird sticking/stuttering while accelerating and then fully turned off on the road while driving. It was incredibly dangerous and I’m just glad there wasn’t anyone directly behind me at the time otherwise I would have for sure been rear ended. Now it shuts off every few minutes and the check engine light is on

Oct 11, 2025

My car shut down while I was driving it. There was an update that my car did which caused it to stall. And then the engine light went off. Took it to the dealer and they did some things. Oil change tire rotation and I thought the recall but maybe not. Picked it up. Drove it out and in our way home it shut down on us in the middle of the road.

Oct 11, 2025

Car stopped “bricked” in the middle of freeway. Had gas half full

Oct 11, 2025

After an update Jeep sent out on October 10, 2025, my Wrangler suddenly stalled while driving. I lost power steering, brakes, and total control of the vehicle. It forced me to shift to park. I had to drive home in limp mode, barely making it. My car is unable to be driven. It is a hazard. Thousands of others are having the issue as well — while on the freeway. This is deadly. Jeep has not put out any information. We are left without vehicles.

Oct 11, 2025

Uconnect software update caused the car to stall and for CEL to turn on. While in D, got a message to shift to P to go back into drive. This is widespread across 2024 4xe vehicles and is a major, major hazard to drivers and drivers of other vehicles. If one of these goes dark on a highway, it could lead to serious injury or even death. Horrible.

Oct 11, 2025

After a system software update the vehicle bricked. Driving and engine would stop. Check engine light appeared as well as other lights.

Oct 11, 2025

Performed software update yesterday evening while driving. Stopped to get gas and software update completed. Stopped to get food and when I got back into my car, check engine light came on and car abruptly emergency braked and powered off while in drive. Had to change drive mode to e save to make it home. Attempted to drive again and car lost power and came to a halt every other minute. Had to turn car off, turn back on wherever it halted. In the middle of traffic. Almost caused an accident several times. I have video.

Oct 11, 2025

After a software update, the car would drive a few miles and then shut down in the middle of driving. You would be required to stop the car, put it in park, and restart the car. The car check engine light comes on and is in a crawl mode, with little acceleration. This is a wide spread issue across all 2024 Jeep Wranglers 4xe

Oct 11, 2025

After installing the latest OTA update (U37.23-PROD), my Wrangler 4xe displayed “Service Hybrid System” and lost power while driving on the highway. The vehicle entered reduced-power mode, forcing me to continue using only the gas engine with limited acceleration. This is a safety issue. The problem started immediately after the OTA update. Diagnostic codes: U0594, P0A45, P1E1D. Please escalate this to Stellantis Technical Operations and confirm if a software reprogram (TSB 08-029-23) is available for my VIN. This situation created a serious safety concern while traveling 300 miles from home on a weekend with no Jeep dealers open.

What a scary experience I had today. Backing out of a parking spot, my jeep jerked and the Drive signal started flashing. The engine light turned on. Thank goodness I did not hit anyone or anything. My jeep had an automatic uconnect update yesterday. The jeep had to be towed because I was told by my Jeep service dealership where I got it, that it was unsafe to drive. I was out of state and had to use several Ubers and rent a car to get back home.

My car will abruptly lose all power will driving down the road and the dash directs you to put it in park and restart the vehicle. This requires coming to a complete stop in the middle of the roadway. This happened 10x in a 30 mile drive and at times at highway speeds. Forcing me to either stop in the middle of the freeway or hope i can get to the side of the road to pull off. This is extremely dangerous and from my early research this is happening to all 4xe wranglers after a failed update last night. Jeep is advising people to drive the car in gas mode (which it does not have) but all 3 hybrid modes have the same result. Someone is going to be seriously injured or killed because of this issue. Nobody should be driving these vehicles like this and i dont know what my 18 year old daughter would have done if she was driving on the highway. This emergency needs immediate attention not the response from Jeep that they will “look into it monday”

After my UCONNECT software updated today 10/11/25 my car has not been driving right since. I can’t drive more than 20ft without it stopping flashing “shift to p” all my gears are lighting up i put the car into park with my foot on the break it flashes 3 different other issues then reverts back to my MPH, i am not able to shift it back into drive i have to then turn the car completely off then turn it back on shift it into drive. Happened on a major road with heavy traffic NOT SAFE. i managed to do a hard factory rest and drove it on E-SAVE which i was able to get the car to my house without having to pay $350 for towing. I’m praying it can get me to work on monday and this will be fixed by then because i cannot afford to miss work let alone pay for a rental due to JEEPS MISTAKE!! I pay a lot of money for this car which is a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe with less than 20k miles never had any other issues with it until now. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Oct 11, 2025

Had an update, and now the Jeep is flashing lights everywhere, there was a thud, and it won’t drive. If this happened while I was driving, it could have caused a big issue and accident.

Oct 11, 2025

Last night my Jeep Wrangler 4xe had a automated over the air software update come up on the screen. As normal i pressed update so the computers updated themselves. This morning I was approximately .5miles away from my house (first time driving since update), and I got multiple warning lights and errors on the dash. THE MOTOR THEN TURNED OFF WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. I pulled over, I was able to get the vehicle restarted and turned around. I made it about 1000feet from my house when the car TURNED OFF COMPLETLEY AGAIN. This time it would not restart. Luckily I was able to coast onto a side street off of a busy main road. I had to have the vehicle towed to a dealer. I later learned that Jeep pushed this update out and this same thing happened to THOUSANDS of 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. Myself, my wife and my infant son could have been killed due to Jeep's negligence and carelessness, there is no way that a software update should be pushed out without it being tested and vetted. Oh and the dealers have no solutions or loaners so I am already out $300 for a 3-day rental.

After accepting a prompted Uconnect over-the-air (OTA) software update, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe began experiencing complete loss of motive power while driving. The vehicle suddenly lost acceleration capability and had to be restarted multiple times. I took the vehicle to McPeek’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Anaheim, CA, where technicians confirmed that multiple Wrangler 4xe vehicles had arrived the same day with the same failure following the same Uconnect update. The dealership performed a rollback to the previous software version, but the issue was not resolved. During the post-rollback road test, the technician confirmed that engine and propulsion issues persisted, and my service advisor advised that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. As a result, the Jeep was not released back to me and remains at the dealership pending further direction from Stellantis engineering. Diagnostic codes reported by other affected owners and visible in forums include U0293-00 (Lost communication with hybrid control module), U0010-00 (CAN bus communication failure), and P1E1D-00 (Hybrid control processor fault), which appear consistent with a communication breakdown between the Uconnect and hybrid powertrain systems. Jeep Customer Care has opened case #[XXX] for this incident and is coordinating with the dealer. This appears to be a safety-related defect, as the vehicle can unexpectedly lose power while in motion. Dealer: McPeek’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram 1221 S Auto Center Dr, Anaheim, CA 92806 (714) 635-2340

I installed an update last night and today the vehicle just shuts off on it own. Looks like jeep stellantis pushed an updated that they clearly did no testing on. P1e1d-00 is the code when I scan. I can no longer drive my jeep.

Oct 11, 2025

After doing the unconnect update on Oct 10, while the vehicle was driving it bricked (stopped moving, everything went off). Causing a near accident with our entire family in the car - young children involved! We pulled over and turned it off then back on again and we're in limp mode for a while when it bricked AGAIN this time in the middle of an intersection. This is a BRAND NEW Jeep and has barely been driven. Absolutely horrific!

October 11, went to the grocery store and parked. Upon shutting off the vehicle, it asked to push an update. I said ok, plugged the charger into the charging station and went shopping. About an hour later I left the parking lot. Made it 200 yards and the vehicle shutoff and started to come to an abrupt stop. I was in a 40 mph zone, and the person behind laid on their horn and swerved. My vehicles check engine light came on, and it was still in drive with the dashboard displaying a flashing D. I put it in park, shut it off and put the flashers on. Once I restarted, CE light was still on, but it let me put it into drive and move. I made it another 200 yards and it did the same thing. Pulled over again and parked. This time, I selected e-save to run on fuel. It was driving a little strange to me, but I was able to make it home (4 miles) safely. I’ll be taking it into the shop as soon as I possibly can.

Oct 11, 2025

Check engine light activated then intermittent loss of power while in motion or while stopped. Forced to restart engine. Happened after over the air update of Telemetrics box module update.

Car is locking up and saying “press P to start” and shift gear lights start blinking. Check engine light is also on

Oct 11, 2025

Immediately after downloading the Uconnect 10/10/25 update, as requested by my Jeep, the car immediately lost all power, shutting completely off in 6pm traffic. This problem on 10/11/25 has been posted all over social media. Took the jeep to the dealership for service and they said they have no information from Stellantis about this occurring. No warnings prior to downloading update. We could have been killed.

Oct 11, 2025

A software updated completed while I was driving and not 15 seconds later my jeep lost power and told me to shift into park. I carefully pulled over. Stopped the vehicle. Put it in park. And then restarted it. Drove about 30 seconds and it happened again. Check engine light is now on too.

Oct 11, 2025

After traveling a short distance, the vehicle will shut down, lose all power and require you to restart. At which time the process repeats, short distance of travel with sudden loss off all vehicle functions. There is some indication that this is due to a software issue pushed in an ota update.

Oct 11, 2025

My 2024 Jeep Wrangler stopped in the road as my husband was driving. On the dash it said to shift to park. And push start. When he did it would not move. He had it in drive and was stuck in the road for about 2 minutes. We are so thankful that no one hit us as we were just over a hill.

Oct 11, 2025

On 10/10/25, an Uconnect update appeared on info center console. I pressed the update now button and went into a store. After re-entering my vehicle, I drove one block and a message appeared on the dash that stated ‘Service Charging System’. At the same time as this message appeared while driving, the car abruptly shut down in traffic, nearly causing a collision with a vehicle behind me. After trying to restart for about 25 minutes, the car restarted and I was able to drive to my destination. On the morning of 10/11/25, I started to drive the vehicle to the mechanic. After about a minute of driving, the check engine light came on. Then about 2 minutes later, the vehicle abruptly shut down while driving, again nearly causing another collision. A message displayed to shift in park and restart. I followed these directions as I also made a call to the dealership to advise of this issue. The vehicle restarted and I was able to drive for another minute and vehicle shut down again while on the phone with the dealership. On the way to the mechanic, this issue happened several times more. Steering was also lost during this issue. Many complaints online are of this issue. Mechanic pulled codes as well.

The car while driving just stopped and instructed me to put it in park engine electrical malfunction.

Oct 10, 2025

The car got a uconnect update tonight. 30 minutes later, when driving the car for the first time since the update, the car shut off while in drive going 30mph. The car loses power, tells you to shift to park. Turning the car off and on enabled it to drive for a while longer, but the same thing happened again. The check engine light is on, and it's giving a number of code errors around the hybrid controller.

Oct 10, 2025

Loss of propulsion while driving. Vehicle went into neutral and forced to pull over and restart the engine. This is due to a bad software update that jeep updated over the air just minutes earlier. This is being reported by hundreds of users on various forums on Reddit and Facebook.

Oct 10, 2025

I parked to go into the grocery store and a message popped ip about an update. I clicked update now and the screen went black and the vehicle shut off. I left the store and in the middle of the road the whole jeep lunged forward and shut off. It said to go into park and turn on the vehicle. I drive slow home and my husband tried to take a look and drove it around our complex and it did the same to him and would not allow him to go over 15 miles an hour and that was pedal to the floor. It is now parked in our complex away from other cars as I’m in fear it might ignite as that is a popular issue with the 4xe. I have had the radio replaced due to a malfunction and it was warranty. I fear there is an electrical malfunction.

Oct 10, 2025

Did a software update on my car. Afterwards I turned it on and it started up really rough then a couple minutes later it shut off.

Oct 10, 2025

After a software update tonight, the jeep shut down while driving, loosing all power, and indicating to shift the vehicle to park. after that restarted the vehicle and got CEL code P1E1D and the vehicle went into limp mode.

About one in 10 starts of my vehicle, the radio/infotainment screen will lock up, make a make a static sound, go black, and restart in a one minute cycle. Sometimes when I am in reverse, it will keep a picture of the back up camera, it’s a locked up picture (that is, not the camera view in motion) and which I think is dangerous, because it could give driver a false perception that there’s nothing behind the vehicle, and then the infotainment will reboot.

I own a 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN: [XXX] ) that has experienced multiple hybrid system failures since the week of purchase. Despite several major repairs, the issues persist — raising significant safety and reliability concerns. Timeline of Major Issues: •[XXX]: Just two days after purchase, the vehicle was brought into the shop for hybrid system failure, requiring replacement of the high-voltage wiring harness and electric cooling heater. •Shortly after, the check engine light returned (per service staff, likely another hybrid fault). I was unable to bring it in at the time, and the light later turned off on its own. •[XXX}: After overnight charging, the battery was dead and the vehicle wouldn’t start. My wife (a medical provider) had to leave work to assist, causing major disruptions to patient care, financial loss, and missed school for my son. •[XXX]: After another overnight charge, the vehicle again failed to start, with more difficulty getting it to run than before. •[XXX}: The vehicle was returned to the shop and required replacement of the hybrid powertrain chip and additional high-voltage wiring. These failures mirror the symptoms and component issues currently under investigation in Recall 95B, yet my VIN does not show any open recalls, and I was never notified of any hybrid system defect. My vehicle has experienced the same hazardous failures and received the same repairs as affected vehicles. I am submitting this complaint because I believe my vehicle was improperly excluded from safety-related notifications and may be affected by a known, systemic hybrid defect. I am requesting that NHTSA include this case in its ongoing investigation into Jeep 4xe hybrid propulsion failures. Vehicle abruptly lost all power while driving, multiple panel lights, turtle mode. Twice now, first time at an intersection (April 10, 2025), second time on street in front of my house after pulling out of driveway. Loss of power steering, insufficient power to get back up driveway to garage. Towed both times. First time spent 18 days at dealer, "multiple DTC codes", no definitive diagnosis. Back at dealer now for past 11 days, no diagnosis yet. Could easily have been life-threatening situation if occured while driving on freeway or at speed. Apparently known problem with these Jeep HEVs.

After a UConnect OTA software update was received in Feb of 2025, the radio frequently crashes and reboots shortly after starting the car. Frequently this will result in the backup camera image being frozen for up to 30 seconds before the radio reboots. This causes a potentially dangerous situation if you rely on the camera while backing up. Also, after this happens the wireless access point can not be enabled without manually rebooting the radio again.

This was the third time the vehicle ceased with 1/8 tank of gas left. These instances result in the gas light, engine light, and battery light to turn on and do not let the vehicle move into neutral, which has been unsafe as the vehicle shuts down somewhat unexpectedly and has taken place in the middle of the road without the option to push the vehicle off to the side.

Engine will shut down’ followed by errant warning gauges going off, cameras, speedometer other indicators not working. Twice brought to dealer. First time they could not verify condition. Now I at dealer again for incident service. Pending. Seems to be a recurring problem dating years back with no resolution from Jeep. A very unsettling issue as to safety and drivability of vehicle.

The first time this happened I was in Maryland, while reversing out of a parking spot onto [XXX] , the Jeep just shut off, just before that every light on the panel went off and the ABS, Powertrain just to name a few failed. I was stuck 3/4 out of the spot when the shutdown occurred, the steering wheel locked, gear shift wouldn’t move and when I tried to press the brake it wouldn’t go down. I had to hit the ignition to reset it while out in oncoming traffic, after 2 attempts, I was able to get it started and shift into park, then drive and then pull in. During this time the check engine light was on. When I returned to NH I took it to the dealership ( Bonneville & son) they had it for nearly 2 weeks, determined it was the alternator output. They ordered a new one but due to a sku error in jeeps system, it was the wrong part, so they had it an additional 4 days. Today [XXX], I was pulling Symmes Dr to park at the park and ride in Londonderry. While going around a curve, the jeep did the same thing and just shut off at 32mph. Steering wheel locked up, everything went dark on all screens, I could not brake or accelerate. There was no space on the side of the road, there was a line of 3 cars on the opposite lane and there was a tractor trailer in my rearview mirror shuttering. He was able to stop at an angle but was stopped less than 4 feet from my rear bumper. When I saw it in the mirror, I thought that was it. I was almost killed today due to jeeps complacency.
