Driving slowly out of parking lot a loud bang was heard. Scraping noise was heard from under van, drove about 25 yards then stopped at side of road. Left rear wheel was crooked and under van the left rear lower control arm was broken in half and was dragging on ground, left rear wheel was off ground. No one was injured, no other damage to this vehicle or others. This vehicle was previously serviced on Kia Service Campaign SC102, unknown date. Would have been serious accident if this occurred at highway speeds. Both lower control arms have been replaced, parts saved for inspection. Pictures attached. Kia was notified of this, case #[XXX]. PASSENGER SIDE RR CONTROL ARM RUSTED THROUGH WHICH CAUSED IT TO BEND AND CAUSED RR TIRE TO FOLD INWARD. HAD TO REPLACE RR CONTROL ARM, RR COIL SPRING AND SHOCKS ON BOTH SIDES WHICH WAS AFFECTED BY RUSTED CONTROL ARM. I BROUGHT IT IN TO REPAIR SHOP WHEN I NOTICED A LOUD THUMP WHEN GOING OVER A BUMP. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL.

WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ENTER TRAFFIC FROM OUR DRIVEWAY UPON ACCELERATION THE STEERING WHEEL SHOOK AND A LOUD "THUD" WAS HEARD WITHIN THE VEHICLE. MY WIFE WHO WAS DRIVING ATTEMPTED TO BACK THE VEHICLE INTO OUR DRIVEWAY BUT WAS UNABLE AS THE VEHICLE WAS UNRESPONSIVE. WHEN I GOT TO THE VEHICLE AND INSPECTED IT, I NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER TIRE WAS TIPPED OUTWARD, SO I INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE LOWER CONTROL ARM HAD SNAPPED AND WENT THROUGH THE TRANSAXLE RENDERING THE VEHICLE INOPERABLE. WHEN LOOKING AT OUR VEHICLE PAPERWORK WE REALIZED THAT THIS PARTICULAR PART WAS REPLACED DUE TO A RECALL IN 2016. WE CONTACTED THE DEALER WHO INFORMED US THAT WE WOULD NEED TO TAKE UP THE COMPLAINT WITH KIA DIRECTLY. WE DID SO AND WERE INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO ACTIVE RECALLS ON THIS REPLACEMENT PART AND THAT THEY ONLY WARRANTIED THESE REPLACEMENTS FOR 12 MONTHS. WE WANTED TO ALERT YOU TO THIS ISSUE AS I FEEL THAT THIS KIND OF DAMAGE SHOULD NOT OCCUR TO A 3-YEAR-OLD REPLACEMENT PART ON A VEHICLE THAT ONLY GETS DRIVEN TO TAKE THE KIDS TO AND FROM SCHOOL DAILY.

LUCKILY, NOBODY WAS IN THE ONCOMING LANE, OR I WOULD HAVE HIT HEAD ON WITH ANOTHER CAR AND AUTO BECAME HARD TO STEER/CONTROL UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO BRAKE DOWN TO LOWER SPEED. KIA HAS KNOWN RECALL FOR LOWER CONTROL ARMS RUSTING, BUT NOTHING PER DEALER FOR SUBFRAME RUSTING/BREAKING. THIS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED.

THE BACK FRAME OF MY 2006 KIA SEDONA IS ALL CORRODED. CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR ANY MORE. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN NOV-2006 AND IN DECEMBER 2011 I HAD TO CHANGE THE FRONT FRAME DUE TO CORROSION. IN MARCH 2014, I HAD TO CHANGE THE FRONT SUSPENSION DUE TO CORROSION AND NOW THE BACK FRAME IS ALL CORRODED. I WOULD LIKE THAT SOMEONE REALLY CHECK ON KIIA'S MATERIALS. IS INCREDIBLY THAT AFTER 5 YEARS I HAD TO CHANGE THE FRONT FRAME. AND UP TODAY'S DAY. I HAVE THE SAME CORROSION ISSUE. I LEAVE IN NEW JERSEY AND I KNOW THAT IN THE WINTER, THERE IS LOTS OF SALT ON THE STREETS BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN A PROBLEM LIKE THIS ON ANY OTHER BRAND. THIS ISSUE GOES DIRECTLY TO THE SAFETY OF THE CAR.

THE VEHICLE STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS CORROSION CAUSED BY LIQUID ROAD SALT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT FELT THAT HER STATE WAS WAS BEING EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL FOR THE CORROSION OF THE CONTROL ARMS WHEN NEARBY STATES WERE INCLUDED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. BECAUSE OF THIS WE HAVE INSPECTED THE OTHER CONTROL ARMS AND THEY WERE ALL RUSTED TO THE POINT THAT IT MADE THE CAR UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THEY HAVE BEEN REPLACED. NOW THE CAR WILL NOT START PERIODICALLY. I HAVE RESEARCHED AND MANY OTHER OWNER OF THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE DUE TO THE ANTI THEFT DEVICE.

I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH. ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD A LOUD THUD. THE WHEEL JERKED VIOLENTLY TO THE LEFT AND MY VEHICLE BEGAN CAREENING LEFT TOWARD THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I IMMEDIATELY BEGAN BRAKING. I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND EXIT SAFELY. UPON INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE, I NOTICED THAT THE FRONT WHEELS WERE POINTING IN SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS, AND THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL WAS MOVED SIGNIFICANTLY BACK IN ITS WELL TOWARD THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION OF THE SUSPENSION COMPONENTS, IT WAS IMMEDIATELY CLEAR THAT THE FRONT LEFT LOWER CONTROL ARM BROKE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL (CAMPAIGN NUMBER 13V550000) ON THE LCA FOR THIS VEHICLE, LOCATED IN MICHIGAN, AND THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED BY A DEALERSHIP. THE RUSTPROOFING DID NOT PREVENT THIS LCA FROM FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 104,000 MILES. HAD I BEEN TRAVELING FASTER, OR HAD THERE BEEN AN ONCOMING CAR, THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE OR EVEN FATAL. I DID RECEIVE A MILD INJURY TO MY RIGHT WRIST WHEN THE WHEEL JERKED VIOLENTLY. THE TENDON IS HYPER-EXTENDED AND REQUIRES THAT I WEAR A WRIST BRACE.

KIA ISSUED A RECALL IN 2013 FOR RUSTING CONTROL ARMS CAUSING THEM TO BRAKE. NOV 1, 2014 AT 109000 MILES KIA DID NOT REPLACE MY CONTROL ARMS BUT ONLY COATED THEM. ON NOV 5, 2015 THE LEFT CONTROL ARM BROKE FROM RUSTING THRU. WHEN THE CONTROL ARM BROKE IT CAUSED THE AXEL TO BRAKE AND THE STRUT TO BEND AS MY WHEELS WERE GOING IN TWO DIRECTIONS. I HAD NO CONTROL IN STEERING AND WAS LEFT SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD COMING FROM THE TURNPIKE. I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 30 MPH BUT THREE MINUTES FROM ENTERING THE PA TURNPIKE WHERE MY SPEED WOULD HAVE BEEN 55 ' 65 MPH. HAD I REACHED THOSE SPEEDS I WOULD HAVE BEEN SEVERELY INJURED OR KILLED. KIA HAS NOT ADEQUATELY TAKEN CARE OF THE KNOW PROBLEMS THAT THE CONTROL ARM IS RUSTING. THEY DID NOT DO THEIR JOB IN PROTECTING ME DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. KIA RESPONSE WAS THAT THEY DID THE RECALL AND TAKE IT UP WITH THE DEALER THAT DID THE WORK. THE DEALER SAID THEY WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM BUT AT MY EXPENSE. IF MY CONTROL BROKE HOW SOON WILL OTHER CONTROL ARMS BRAKE WHICH MIGHT CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH. KIA NEEDS TO RELOOK AT THIS PROBLEM AND REPLACE THE CONTROL ARMS BEFORE SOMEONE DIES.

IN MARCH 2014 WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE KIA RECALL #SC100. THIS WAS CONCERNING THE LOWER FRONT CONTROL ARMS BEING SUBJECT TO RUST AND FAILURE FOR NORTHERN VEHICLES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PARAMOUNT KIA, HICKORY NC. ACCORDING TO KIA THE CONTROL ARMS WERE INSPECTED AND FOUND TO BE IN SATISFACTORY CONDITION. APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS LATER THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE CONTROL ARM BROKE IN TWO. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED THE A LOCAL GARAGE AND THE ARM WAS CHANGED OUT WITH A USED LIKE NEW CONTROL ARM. ON FRIDAY AUGUST 14TH 2015 THE DRIVERS SIDE CONTROL ARM BROKE INTO. I CALLED KIA AND WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE IT WAS INSPECTED IN MARCH 2014 AND NOTHING WAS DONE THEN THAT THERE WAS NOTING THAT COULD BE DONE NOW. NEEDING THE VEHICLE FOR TRANSPORTATION ELECTED TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE GARAGE THAT FIXED IT THE LAST TIME TO GET IT FIXED AGAIN. KIA IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THESE CONTROL ARMS HOWEVER HAS ELECTED NOT TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE ONES ON MY VEHICLE. I DO FEEL THAT I SHOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR THE COST OF HAVING THE VEHICLE TOWED TWICE AND THE COST OF PARTS AND LABOR TO HAVE THE ARMS REPLACED. I COMPLAINT HAS BEEN FILED WITH KIA ALSO.

I WAS DRIVING WITH MY 3 YOUNG CHILDREN IN MY 2006 KIA SEDONA WHEN ANOTHER DRIVER PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME CAUSING ME TO APPLY THE BRAKES, AT WHICH TIME I LOST CONTROL OF THE VAN WHICH NEARLY ROLLED OVER. I LATER LEARNED THAT WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED, THE DRIVER'S SIDE LOWER CONTROL ARM COMPLETELY BROKE DUE TO RUST WHICH IS WHAT CAUSED ME TO LOSE CONTROL. THANKFULLY, THE VAN CAME TO A STOP BUT ONLY BECAUSE THE WHEEL BROKE AND BECAME LODGED. HAD THIS ACCIDENT HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUS INJURIES OR FATALITIES. CORROSION ON THE FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARM WAS PART OF A RECALL ISSUED IN NOVEMBER 2013. ON FEBRUARY 20, 2014 (BEFORE I OWNED THE VAN), THE VAN WAS TAKEN TO A KIA SERVICE CENTER FOR SERVICE RELATED TO THE RECALL. A RUSTPROOF COATING WAS APPLIED TO THE REAR CONTROL ARMS AND THE FRONT WERE VISUALLY INSPECTED AND DETERMINED TO BE FINE. JUST OVER A YEAR LATER THE PART DETERMINED TO BE "SAFE," BROKE FROM SIMPLY APPLYING THE BRAKES WHICH VERY EASILY COULD HAVE RESULTED IN DEVASTATING CONSEQUENCES. I CONTACTED KIA ON MAY 22, 2015. AS OF JUNE 3, 2015 (13 DAYS SINCE THE INCIDENT) I AM STILL AWAITING A RESPONSE FROM KIA AS TO WHAT CORRECTIVE ACTION THEY WILL TAKE. I FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY TO EVER DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AGAIN.

THE LOWER CONTROL ARM IN MY VEHICLE BROKE WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT. I GOT THE VEHICLE TO COUGHLIN KIA IN NEWARK OHIO. THE CONTROL ARM THAT BROKE IS A RECALL, AND ALL THE THINGS THAT THEY ARE CHARGING ME FOR NEED REPLACED BECAUSE OF THE CONTROL ARM BREAKING. MY FIANCE' DROPPED OUR OLDEST DAUGHTER OFF AT SCHOOL. WHILE DRIVING HOME SHE HEARD A LOUD CLUNK BUT EVERYTHING FELT FINE. SHE THEN WENT TO DROP OFF OUR YOUNGEST AT THE BABYSITTERS. SHE THEN WENT TO TURN AROUND IN THE DRIVEWAY AND HEARD A LOUD POP AND FELT THE FRONT END OF THE VAN FALL. SHE GOT OUT TO FIND THE DRIVER'S FRONT TIRE COMPLETELY FLAT AND THE SWAY BAR SHOVED INTO THE TIRE. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION WE FOUND BOTH SWAY BAR END LINKS HAD COMPLETELY FAILED. THE BALLS HAD COMPLETELY RUSTED OUT OF THEIR SOCKETS AND ALLOWED THE SWAY BAR TO FALL IN A WAY THAT ALLOWED IT TO RUPTURE THE TIRE. KIA HAS A PROBLEM WITH FRONT SUSPENSION COMPONENTS RUSTING OUT AND FAILING. WE WERE GOING TO TAKE THE VAN IN FOR THE LOWER CONTROL ARM RECALL BECAUSE THEY ARE BREAKING DUE TO RUST. I CONTACTED MY DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THE TIRE AND SWAY BAR WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY THE CONTROL ARM RECALL. I AM CURRENTLY WORKING WITH KIA MOTORS TO SEE IF THEY WILL RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. AFTER HAVING THE VAN TOWED TO THE SERVICE CENTER AND CHECKED OUT, WE WERE TOLD THAT THE LEFT FRONT CONTROL ARM HAD RUSTED THROUGH AND FAILED. I CRINGE AT THE THOUGHT OF WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEED, AS WE WERE SUPPOSED TO HAS BEEN ON THE INTERSTATE AT THAT TIME, BUT CHANGED OUR PLANS AT THE LAST MINUTE. THIS VAN HAD ITS ANNUAL NH STATE SAFETY INSPECTION AT THE BEGINNING OF AUGUST AND WAS GIVEN A CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH. THE SHOP THAT DID THE INSPECTION AND THE SHOP THAT IS DOING THE REPAIR BOTH TOLD US THAT UNLESS THEY ACTUALLY SEE A CRACK, THERE IS NO WAY FOR THEM TO TELL IF THE PART IS COMPROMISED OR NOT. AS SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN WORKING WITH METAL FOR 30 YEARS, I FIND THIS HARD TO BELIEVE. LASTLY, I HAVE NOTED SIX COMPLAINTS REPORTED HERE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM IN JUST THE LAST SEVEN MONTHS. THE LEFT FRONT COIL SPRING BROKE AFTER I HAD PARKED THE VAN AT WORK. LATER WHEN I WENT OUT TO GO SOMEWHERE, I FOUND A PIECE OF METAL ABOUT 8" LONG LYING ON THE GROUND BEHIND THE LEFT FRONT TIRE. I THOUGHT THAT I SURE HOPED IT HAD NOT COME OFF OF MY CAR! WHEN I GOT IN AND PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE, IT WOULD NOT MOVE. I SHIFTED TO DRIVE AND IT WENT FORWARD, SO I SHIFTED BACK INTO REVERSE AND TRIED TO BACK UP. THERE WAS A LOUD BANG AND THE FRONT END ON THE CAR DROPPED HARD TO THE LEFT. AFTER CHECKING ONLINE I LEARNED THAT THERE HAD BEEN AN ISSUE WITH THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS ON 2006 KIA SEDONAS, THAT THE FINISH WOULD GET CORRODED BY ROAD SALT AND WATER AND THE SPRINGS WOULD BREAK. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 KIA SEDONA LX. WHILE DRIVING IN THE DRIVEWAY 5 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BUSHINGS BEGAN TO EXHIBIT AND ABNORMAL SQUEALING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY COULD NOT REPLACE THE BUSHINGS UNTIL THEY HAD FRACTURED AND COULD NOT PRESS OUT FROM THE SUB FRAME WITHOUT CAUSING DAMAGING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED WHO CONTACTED THE DEALER TO DETERMINE THE FAILURE AND WHAT COULD BE DONE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE MANUFACTURER THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE FAILURE UNTIL IT WAS FRACTURED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,400.

FRONT END FAILURE OF SWAY BAR LINKS ON MY 2006 KIA SEDONA MINI VAN. WE BOUGHT THE VAN IN SEPT OF 2007 AS A USED VAN WITH ABOUT 20,000 MILES ON IT. AT 25,138 MILES THE SWAY BAR LINKS WERE REPLACED. I JUST HAD MY OWN GARAGE DO THEM AGAIN WITH 41,971 MILES ON IT. THESE SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN 17,000 MILES. I ALSO HAD IT AT THE DEALER FOR A SHIMMY IN THE FRONT END AND THEY REPLACED BOTH FRONT AXLES. WE ARE STILL EXPERIENCING A SHIMMY AT TIMES. THE RIGHT SIDE SUB FRAME BUSHINGS WERE REPLACED AT 32,268 MILES. THEN AT 33,367 MILES IT WAS BACK INTO THE SHOP FOR THE LEFT REAR SUBFRAME BUSHINGS. THE DATE OF THAT REPAIR WAS 11/23/09. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE REAR BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING AND ALL RUSTED UP. I ADVISED THEM NOT TO DO THE WORK BECAUSE I COULD DO IT MYSELF AND THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I REPLACED BOTH REAR ROTORS, PADS, AND BOTH CALIPERS BECAUSE THEY WERE ALL RUSTED. OUR FACTORY WARRANTY ENDS AT THE END OF THE YEAR AND I HAVE GREAT CONCERNS THAT I WILL BE PUTTING ALOT OF MONEY INTO A JUNK FRONT END. WE DID HAVE IT AT THE SHOP FOR ONE RECALL NOTICE FOR A POSSIBLE FAULTY BRAKE SWITCH THAT COULD NOT SHUT OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL. ON 8/14/09 WITH 34,324. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT STATED SHE HAD HER VEHICLE SERVICED FOR THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V130000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING: BRAKE LIGHTS: SWITCH). AFTER RECEIVING THE VEHICLE BACK FROM THE DEALER, SHE WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL INVOLUNTARILY ENGAGED. THERE WAS AN UNUSUALLY LOUD BUZZ COMING FROM THE DASH AREA. THE CONTACT SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND WHEN RESTARTING, THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS DEACTIVATED BUT THE NOISE CONTINUED MOMENTARILY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT SHE HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING A RECURRING FAILURE IN WHICH SHE HEARS A LOUD "CLUNKING" NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING OVER BUMPS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON MANY OCCASIONS WHERE THE RIGHT AND LEFT SWAY BAR LINKS WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR WHENEVER DRIVING OVER A BUMPY ROAD SURFACE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 89,000.

LTER FROM CONSTITUENT COMPLAINT AND DEMAND FOR ACTION RE HER 2006 KIA SEDONA WHICH WITHOUT WARNING SHUT-DOWN DUE TO A CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE. *NJ THE DEALER STATED THE ENGINE FAILURE WAS DUE TO SLUDGE BUILD-UP. PRIOR TO THE ENGINE FAILURE, THE CONSUMER STATED THE BRAKES WERE VIBRATING, NOISY AND THE VEHICLE WAS PULLING TO THE RIGHT. IT WAS RECOMMENDED THAT THE BRAKES AND ALL OF THE TIRE BE REPLACED. I PURCHASED A 2006 KIA SEDONA OCTOBER 21ST OF 2006 AND EVER SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD IT IN FOR SERVICE ABOUT 8-9 TIMES. FIRST FEW TIMES WERE FOR THE ENGINE LIGHT GOING ON ALL THE TIME. THEN IT WAS SHAKING OF THE VEHICLE AND THEY DID A WHEEL ALIGNMENT ABOUT TWO TIMES. TOOK IT IN AGAIN FOR SAME SHAKING PROBLEM SO THEY REPLACED THE STRUTS ON IT. THAN THE HORN WENT OUT AND THE UNDER CARRIAGE OF THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE TO 50 MILES AN HOUR. THEY REPLACED SOME PART ON THE UNDER CARRIAGE BUT THE VEHICLE IS STILL SHAKING AND IS STILL IN THE SHOP WAITING TO HEAR FROM KIA IN THE NEXT PART TO REPLACE OR FIX. I HAVE HAD A RENTAL EACH TIME WHICH IS FINE AND DANDY, THEY HAVE PICKED UP THE COST BUT IT IS JUST GETTING FRUSTRATING TO HAVE A BRAND NEW VEHICLE WITH ONLY 20 MILES ON IT WHEN PURCHASED TO BE SERVICED AS MANY TIMES AS IT HAS IN THE PAST YEAR. MY KIA SEDONA IS IN THE ZIESER SERVICE CENTER AGAIN. I HAD TO TAKE IT IN FOR THE HORN AND OTHER CONCERNS. THE HORN DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK AND THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THE DEALER SAID THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE, BUT WHEN MY HUSBAND AND I DRIVE THE VEHICLE IT DOES NOT WORK ON A CONSISTENT BASIS. THEY HAVE HAD TO REPLACE PARTS ON THIS HORN ALREADY ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. AND I HAVE HAD TO BRING IT BACK ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS SINCE THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE AT FIRST. ON MY LAST VISIT THE SERVICE DEPT TURNED THE ROTORS FOR THE BRAKES. I TOLD THEM THAT IT IS NOW SQUEALING SINCE THEY DID THIS AND I WANTED TO KNOW WHY. WHEN THEY CALLED TO TELL ME MY CAR WAS READY, THEY SAID I OWED $25 TO LOOK AT THE BRAKES. I ASK WHY AND DAVE IN SERVICE SAID THAT THEIR TECH TOOK OVER 2 HOURS TO LOOK FOR PROBLEMS AND NO ONE WAS GOING TO PAY THEM (MEANING KIA), SO I NEEDED TO PAY. I TOLD THEM I WANTED TO KNOW WHY I DID NOT HAVE A SQUEAK BEFORE AND THEN AFTER THEY DID SOME WARRANTY WORK ON THE VAN I DID HAVE A SQUEAK. I ALSO STATED THAT I HAVE A SAFETY CONCERN ABOUT THE CAR FEELING LIKE IT IS BEING PUSHED WHEN YOU ARE SLOWING DOWN AND YOU GET TO 30-35 MPH. HE SAID THIS IS NORMAL. LASTLY, THE CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT DECELERATE WHEN GOING DOWN HILLS (EVEN A SLIGHT GRADE). IT DOES NOT DO THIS ON A CONSISTENT BASIS. THEY TOLD ME THIS IS NORMAL, BUT WHEN I DRIVE IT ACCELERATES AND IF I HAVE IT SET AT SAY 40 MPH I HAVE TO APPLY TO BRAKES BECAUSE I HAVE HAD IT ACCELERATE PAST 60 MPH. AGAIN, I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT MY VEHICLE AND THE FACT THAT THERE ARE SAFETY ISSUES THAT I FEEL NEED TO BE CORRECTED. EVEN THOUGH THEY STATE THAT THE HORN IS WORKING CORRECTLY, WHEN I WAS DRIVING THIS WEEKEND, I WAS CUT OFF BY A CAR AND WHEN I WENT TO HONK THE HORN IT DID NOT WORK. AND WHEN I TESTED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, IT DID NOT WORK. MY HUSBAND ALSO WAS CUT OFF (THERE IS IN INTERSECTION THAT IS NOTORIOUS FOR THIS BY OUR HOME) AND HE COULD NOT GET IT TO WORK.

FOR THE PAST 2 MONTHS I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH A VERY ANNOYING AND VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THE KIA SEDONA PULLED TO THE LEFT. WHILE NOT TOO NOTICEABLE ON CITY STREETS IT I WAS VERY NOTICEABLE ON THE FREEWAY, AND IF THE STEERING WHEEL WAS EVER LET GO FOR A SECOND THE CAR PULLED TO THE LEFT ,RIGHT TOWARD THE FREEWAY MEDIAN. MY HANDS AND ARMS GET TIRED HOLDING THE VEHICLE STRAIGHT ON LONG TRIPS. TO ME, THIS WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.* THE PROBLEM BEGAN IN MARCH 2007, AND HAS GOTTEN INCRESINGLY WORSE. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO MY PRIVATE MECHANIC ONCE FOR A FRONT END ALIGNMENT, HE SAID IT DIDN'T DO ANYTHING, BUT IT STILL PULLED TO THE LEFT!). I HAVE THEN TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES. THE FIRST TIME THEY SAID THEY ADJUSTED SOMETHIN AT NO CHANGE. THE SECOND TIME THEY SAID THEY REPLACED THE RIGHTSIDE STRUT AT NO CHANGE. THE THIRD TIME THEY CLAIMED THEY ADJUSTED THE LEFTSIDE STRUT AT NO CHANGE.*AK MY CAR IS NOW GOING BACK TO THE DEALER FOR A FOURTH TIME, TO GET ITS LEFT STRUT REPLACED. I AM NOT CONVINCED THIS WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, AND I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL OTHER POSTINGS (BOTH HERE, AND IN OTHER FORUMS) THAT ALL HAVE THE EXACT SAME COMPAINT: 2006 KIA SEDONA PULLS TO THE LEFT. WHILE THE DEALER HAS BEEN PATIENT-- THEY ARE ALSO CLUELESS AND HAVE SUPPOSEDLY NOT HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM. THE LAST TIME I WAS IN, THEY MADE ME TAKE THEIR MECHANIC FOR A RIDE, WHICH I WAS GLAD TO DO, TO PROVE TO HIM THAT THE CAR VEERS TO THE LEFT. THE MECHANIC STARTED USING EXCUSES LIKE "OH, THE ROAD SLOPES LEFT, SO THAT'S WHY IT DOES THAT" AND ALSO "THIS MODEL HAS TORQUE-STEERING, SO THIS IS NORMAL". IN MY OPINION, THIS DEMANS A RECALL. PERSONALLY, I AM BEGINNING THE PROCESS OF TAKING ADVANTAGE OF WISCONSIN'S LEMON LAW - WHICH STATES THAT 4 REPAIRS FOR THE SAME THING IN THE FIRST YEAR QUALIFY THE CAR AS A LEMON.
