Kia Sorento Years to Avoid

The 2011 Sorento is the worst model year, plagued by the same Theta II engine problems that affected the Hyundai Sonata, with connecting rod bearing failures causing sudden engine seizure. The 2012-2015 models continued these engine issues with the 2.4L 4-cylinder. The 2016-2018 Sorentos improved but still had occasional engine complaints.
