AWD lock engaged but not functioning and no error lights indicating the such. This made the vehicle slip aggressively on lightly snowed roads. Once parked it needed to be winched out as only the front wheels spun, not engaging the rear tires.
*Component or System: Power window system / electrical system *What Happened? The manufacturer issued a recall for a defect in the power window system. When I brought my vehicle to the authorized service center, I was informed that the recall repair applies only to the front power windows, even though the same malfunction and defect are clearly present in the rear windows as well. The manufacturer’s refusal to include the rear windows leaves the defect only partially remedied, which could pose a continuing safety risk. This appears to be an incomplete or inadequate recall repair, as all four windows share the same design and failure pattern. I am requesting that NHTSA review whether the manufacturer’s limited repair scope meets federal recall requirements. *When Did This Happen? October 2025 *Has the Problem Been Reproduced or Confirmed by a Dealer or Independent Service Center? Yes – the dealership confirmed the issue with all four windows but stated that only the front windows are covered under the recall. *Has the Vehicle Been Inspected by the Manufacturer or Dealer? Yes – inspected at Nalley Kia 7849 Mall Pkwy, Stonecrest, GA 30038 *Were There Any Injuries, Fires, or Crashes? NO *Additional Details / Attachments-I can provide copies of the recall notice, service invoice, and correspondence with the dealership confirming the limited repair coverage upon request.
While driving on the parkway with my child and younger cousin in the vehicle, the car unexpectedly began to decelerate without warning. I safely pulled over to the side of the road and turned the vehicle off. When attempting to restart it, the engine would not crank or turn on. Moments later, smoke began to appear from under the hood. Additionally, the engine, battery, and oil warning lights illuminated on the dashboard. This incident created a dangerous situation and raised serious safety concerns regarding the reliability of the vehicle.
Blind spot warning, safety belt warning etc.
I recently paid out of pocket for replacement of Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit and I see that it was a recall on my make model and year, but my Vin number was not included in the recall
I have had this car not even two years and until 8 months ago I never had issues but now it has been burning/draining the engine oil like crazy. I mean every three days I have to put about 4 quarts with how bad it goes. I've already checked for leaks and anything burning from the exhaust and there's nothing. I've called Kia and they want me to pay $200 just for them to diagnose it and not fix anything. It puts me and my sisters safety on the line because it jerks whenever it is low and then whenever it is idle. This hasn't been recreated/replicated by a dealer as I don't have the funds for them to check. There aren't any warning lights or sensors telling me anything. It's gotten to a point where I'm just not sure what else to do and I've done research where in the past, this car specifically has this kind of problem yet it shows no current recalls of it.
The front passenger side locking latch is getting stuck when trying to unlock with the key fob. It has to be opened manually from the inside for the door to unlock.
On November 8, 2024 a large oil leak was noticed where the Kia Sportage had been parked. When the oil was checked it was empty. There had been no warning lights prior to this occurring and I have always provided maintenance to this vehicle. The car was towed by AAA to a local Kia dealership the next day. Their technician found "leaking severe due to oil pressure switch shooting oil through the main wiring harness and to the injector harness". The repair cost was estimated at $6,148.94. I was told that my warranty would not cover this expense even though I have only 70,875 miles. I have not received a notice from Kia indicating a recall or advising that I will receive extended warranty coverage. Research has shown that many Kia vehicles and others have had this same Oil pressure switch problem. This malfunction is extremely dangerous since I drive often on interstate highways and could have been involved in a major breakdown with possible accident. Kia needs to pay for this repair.
Engine has slowed itself for years, even while pressing gas pedal, the mph and engine would sound like it revved up then go dark on me while coming to an uncontrolled stop.
All the windows in the car do not go up and down, I can hear the motor moving but no movement with the windows. Started with the rear passenger window, then front passenger, followed by rear driver and ultimately driver window.
Kia has a problem with window motors and regulators why is this not a safety issue. The car made in 2015 and 2016 which is this 2017 model apparently has this issue they sent out memos to dealers yet are charging people to have them fixed. This is the second time I had the motor replaced in 2021 on this very window but it was under warranty then. This should be a safety issue and be addressed
Four window regulators failed within a few days of each other. The first front widows failed at the beginning of December 2023 and the back two failed a week later. The back windows dropped down while I was driving. Thankfully, no children were in the backseat. There was no warning that this was going to occur. The regulators are independent of each other yet all four broke. The windows lost all power and could not be rolled up. I was not able to roll up any of my windows until I paid to have them fixed at a Kia dealership in April. This was a safety issue (theft, unpredictable windows falling, heat inside the car, extreme cold temperatures couldn't be blocked out, etc.) until they were fixed at a costly price-$2,168. Two Kia service advisors confirmed the four window regulators and/ or drums needed replaced. The service advisor was aware of the problem on other vehicles and was not surprised at that all four independent regulators broke. The four regulators have been fixed therefore I do not have the failed/broken part. I have my service record however. I contacted Kia headquarters to request a recall be made on their defective product but they were not responsive. I was given a case # but nothing else.
Window regulator drum or window regulator not responding saw open recall but my vin isn’t comming up under the recall SA-148 service from 2020
While driving on the highway, vehicle lost all electrical power. The engine stayed running, but I lost use of anything electrical including the power steering, headlights, and dashboard functions. Vehicle power resumed after about a minute and we made it home, but the vehicle would not start after this. After calling our KIA dealership they advised taking the vehicle in immediately via tow. After looking through the vehicle, it was found that a fuse inside of the battery harness had melted. This caused the battery cable to heat up to ~200 degrees. The cause is still unclear, but we worry about this happening in the future. We are still waiting for the cable to be replaced at this time.
I was driving home on i-91 S when my car started smoking from under the hood. There were no warning lights and the temperature gauge read normal with the lever at the center. I pulled off at the next Exit and parked in a parking lot. I popped the hood and found that a fire had started around the engine. The fire grew to the point that the whole front half of the car was burned before the fire department was able to put it out. The vehicle was assessed by my insurance, but I think the extent of that was to determine whether it was a total loss (which it obviously was).
My daughter and I were driving home from my brother's house, when we stopped by McDonald's to grab food, we noticed our car smoking really bad. I had her pull away from the drive-thru and into the empty parking lot. We got out just seconds before the car burst into flames from underneath the hood of the car.
I was driving on the freeway and my car suddenly jolted, smoked started pouring from the hood, and then immediately caught fire once I pulled off the road within minutes. There were no warnings, no engine lights, nothing that pointed to an issue until this happened. I was at risk of getting hit by others in the freeway — I luckily was able to get to the side of the road and immediately called 911. Fire department came within minutes, and dowsed the car, which was fully engulfed in flames.
Engine burns for an excessive amount of oil. The transmission stopped working
Car engine will randomly not start, resulting in safety issue of being stranded in inclement weather and/or unsafe areas. Vehicle has been seen by two separate dealers for Kia who despite multiple attempts at service (5+) have been unable to resolve the issue. 12-5-22 Vehicle Purchased 12-6 Contacted Dealer Jeff Wyler Kia to report car not starting. I purchased my car in September 2017 and in or around July 2022 my front passenger window would not open. In the next few months the back passenger windows and front driver-side window as well. After taking it to Benson Kia on 4/17/23 they told me that for 1 its a Good Will repair and only for the front windows on 4/22/23 I received a call saying that they declined the repair due to mileage on the car which is roughly around 94,000 miles. I will be lookin into getting an attorney for this issue since this is not normal wear and tear for this vehicle after 5 years and I have vehicles that are almost over 10 years older and are not having any issues of the sort. After research, I have found a class action lawsuit for the windows for 2016 and 2017 Optima and Sportage models on Carcomplaints.com
I purchased my 2017 Kia Sportage new with 0 miles. Since day one I have had multiple electronic related issues with this automobile. The speedometer sometimes doesn't display speeds, the Bluetooth connection turns on and off randomly. The air conditioning system sporadically works. If the air conditioning is turned on it will blow hot air and then sporadically turn on and off by itself. I have noticed that the Bluetooth connection turns off when the air conditioning system turns on. I have called Kia customer service and they deny any problems with my Kia or any other 2017 Kia sportage, yet I located a technical service bulletin from KIA issued in 2019 that calls for the replacement of the entire air conditioner system. When I spoke to Kia about the technical service bulletin, they claimed that individual dealers are allowed to issue those bulletins without KIAs knowledge. I have brought my Kia to the local dealer several times and they claimed that there is nothing wrong with the air conditioning system or the electric systems
1/2/2023 – My car turned on with zero issues. When I went to pull out of my parking space, the car stalled and tuned off. Right before it turned off, the check engine light and oil light flickered. I waited 5 minutes and turned the car on. It turned on with none of the warning lights flickering or staying on. I pulled the car back into the parking space and the engine had a clicking noise. My husband popped the hood and checked the oil and it seemed low. We went in our other vehicle and purchased oil. We inserted 1QT of oil and turned the car on. It turned on with zero issues but the engine had a clicking noise. We called the Kia dealership but it was too late to take the vehicle to them so decided we would do it the next day. 1/3/2023 – We called Roadside and the car was flat bedded to the Kia dealership. We spoke with the Advisor NICK and he asked for us to give him to Friday 1/6/2023 to look at the car and he would call us back. So we waited to Friday to 1/6/23 to speak to Nick. 1/6/2023 – Nick called us and told us the car might possibly need a new engine. Did not tell us how they came to the determination or what was wrong with the car and engine. He just said that the dealership needed to talk to Kia Corporate and Kia engineers for the next course of action and that he would call us back on Wednesday 1/10/2023. So, we wait again patiently til 1/10/2023. 1/10/2023 - Nick calls us and we demand to know what is wrong with the vehicle and that we need a loaner. We can not be without the car. He tells us that they do not have a loaner and that they are a small dealership. He told us the techs ran a BCD test on the car and that it failed it twice. That they were waiting to speak to Kia Corp and the engineers again for the next course of action. He said the car had low oil. How could that be we asked – it was only 2K miles in from the last oil change. No answers provided.
The contact owns a 2017 Kia Sportage. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked and unoccupied it spontaneously caught fire. The front windshield burst and the front of the vehicle melted. The check engine warning indicator light was illuminated. There were no reported injuries. The fire department extinguished the fire. There was no police report filed, injuries, or air bag deployment. The vehicle was towed to the contact residents. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no additional assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

I was driving up to Vermont for an event. I stopped at a Dunkin Donuts drive through and noticed smoke coming from the hood of my car. I quickly pulled forward into the nearest parking spot and the car started smoking in and burst into flames. I had 20-30 seconds to get out of the car. I could have been killed.
The passenger door behind the driver's seat will not open, which limits access to the rear passenger compartment should there be an emergency. No lights indicate this problem. We have tried all the troubleshooting instructions from the manufacturer's manual. Furthermore, many Kia owners report this same issue via social media forums Examples: https://www.reddit.com/r/CarRepair/comments/gcict7/2017_kia_sportage_rear_door_stuck_shut/ https://www.kia-forums.com/threads/i-locked-the-rear-door-and-it-wont-open-at-all.357185/#post-2094581
On 7/22/2020 I brought my Sportage to Fuccillo Associats of Florida Inc. 202 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte Fl. 33953. At that time they took it upon themselves to change a window regulator drum gear on the driver's side. This was covered under warranty, even though the warranty was expired already. Part number 82473-D3000FFF. Then on 11/16/2021 the second regulator drum gear failed in the rear passenger behind drivers seat. The window fell and could not be closed. This was repaired at my expense at $458.00 at 75,000 miles. Now as of July 1st the third window regulator drum gear failed on the passenger rear side. Now the window is inoperable and falls down. I alerted Kia to this issue and they attempted to change me a diagnostic fee and a $450 replacement fee in a part they know is defective and has been a problem for them all across the country. Look on your own site and you will see many many complaints of windows that just fell and the window regulator will not bring the window back up. This window drum gear is defective and should nave been part of a national recall on all 4 windows as they were probably manufactured out of material that would not stand up to normal wear and tear.
Engine seized twice randomly while driving. Turned car off and back on and it ran without issue. (May 21 2022 and June 30 2022). Had the recall addressed on july 9 and July 12 my check engine light came on. It was towed to Kia and they called the following day saying they’re replacing the engine under the extended warranty.
Window again have to have motor Replaced passenger side front dusted all four of them a year and a half ago
After purchase the car only a year. The rod was thrown and punched a hole i. The engine block and began to smoke. I jumped out and the car wouldn’t start or nothing. Car was towed home and to several locations to look at and fix the car. When all along there was a safety recall. When I attempted to file a complaint the Kia class action suit was denied. Now this is on my credit due to having no other choice then to voluntarily repo the car.
My vehicle was stolen in the middle of the day while locked through the rear window. There is now $8,000 worth of damage to it including the windows, ignition, body. I have since learned that there is a flaw in the way that Kia designed the vehicle that makes is extremely easy to steal.
Check engine light came on after I exit the ramp getting onto I-75. The vehicle started to stall. The vehicle started making a jerking move as though it was loosing power. I had to pull over in the side of the highway. I turned off the vehicle for about 5 minutes and turned it back on. I pull back onto the highway and noticed that when I press the gas it started repeating the same as I stated before and it wouldn’t accelerate pass 65 mph. When you slow down to about 20 mph and press the gas it stalls really bad as though it’s about to cut off. The acceleration hands jumps back and forth between 1 and 2 when pulling off.
Unreasonable amount of engine oil decreasing. When I drained engine oil after 5000 miles of driving, less than 1/2 of 5qt jug was filled. It could eventually result engine fire due to loss of lubrication on engine.
On November 2020 I bought my 2017 Kia Sportage 4DR FWD LX. I been having issues with the driver's and passenger windows since 05/08/2021. The driver's window will not go down, Deland Kia Dealer inspection said the rubber window channel for the driver's windows needed to be lubricated and it got fix. Now 8 months later the same situation is happening again on the the same window, the window will not go down, and the motor works because you can hear it running. On 10/18/2021 I had to get my kia Sportage for service due the right (passenger) window not going up, it was stock and will not go up at all, again the motor was working because you can heart running. I got my Kia serviced at Deland Kia and they changed the window regulator gear panel. Is working (for now) but now my left rear window will not go up and is sliding down, like it loose and the drive's windows also having the same problem. I believe all this issues are a safety concern due to; first what if that window that is sliding will break and cut someone, plus is an easy way for someone to brake into my vehicle. Also the windows not coming down, what if I had an accident and the only way to get me out will be breaking the window because it will not go down and if there was a gas leak or something I will get trap there. I looked online to multiple vehicle forums and there is multiple complains about this window issue, some believe is due to a regulator wheel malfunction or a complete regulator malfunction. At this point almost all my windows had an issue which is putting my safety and my family safety on risk.
The car is manufactured in such a way that it is easy to steal without a key. When a car is stolen, typically it is driven recklessly putting many others at risk. Also any child or animal in the car could be taken as well as needed possessions of the owner. The problem has been recognized by the manufacturer and several police departments. The problem became well known to the manufacturer, however, the manufacturer neglected to ever notify individuals who purchased their vehicles. This can be verified by any large police department. Some of these would include: Milwaukee, Denver and multiple others. There is no warning that this is a problem in the vehicle you own. The manufacturer or dealer would have to notify such as they do in a recall.
Around December 2020 our driver side window stopped working. We had the dealership replace the inner door panel accuator. As soon as we went over 60,000 and lost our warranty all of the other 3 windows stopped working. The plastic gears crumbbled. We bought 3 panels to fix the windows in January they have worked until the beginning of October. Same problem!!!
In Oct 2020, we took the vehicle in as it had low oil. A prior inspection and oil change had been performed in June 2020, and it was assumed that the inspection mechanic did not change the oil. The dealership (Fred Beans Kia of Langhorne) changed the oil in October, and in December 2020 the vehicle was again low on oil well before the 3000 mile mark. The dealership informed us that it was likely due to an error on their part, and the technician was no longer employed there. Once again in April 2021 the vehicle was low on oil, and was taken to the dealership. In June 2021 the vehicle was once again low on oil, and taken to the dealership where they confirmed oil consumption was out of spec. Cleaning was performed in July and the vehicle was again low on oil in Sept 2021. Dealer is claiming the oil consumption is now "normal." The vehicle is both burning and leaking oil, causing a concern for both safety (engine seizure) and durability.
SINCE THE USED CAR LOT DID NOT SUPPLY IS WITH A KEY FOB, WE HAVE TO USE THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE DOORS. WHEN PUTTING KEY IN DRIVER'S DOOR AND TURNING KEY TWICE IN A ROW (QUICKLY)TO UNLOCK ALL DOORS, WE HAVE TO PULL HANDLE ANYWHERE FROM 2-3 TIMES BEFORE THE DOOR WILL OPEN. THE CAR WAS STOPPED AND NOT RUNNING WHEN THIS HAPPENS.

WHILE MAKING A STOP SIGN MY KIA SPORTAGE STARTED ACCELERATING INVOLUNTARILY LIKE IF I STEP ON THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY! I IMMEDIATELY THOUGHT OF JUST TURNING MY VEHICLE OFF BUT AFTER I SWITCH THE GEAR TO NEUTRAL. THIS INCIDENT WAS VERY SCARY TO THE POINT THAT I DO NOT FEEL SECURE TO DRIVE IT. VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE.

MY CAR IS 3 YEARS OLD AND I AM NOT ABLE OPEN BOTH FRONT DOORS FROM OUTSIDE. IT IS MECHANICAL ISSUE WITH KIA QUALITY PRODUCT. SPECIALLY MY PASSENGER DOOR WAS NOT OPEN THAT OFTEN. THE ISSUE IS THAT AFTER LOCKING THE CAR AND THEN I TRY UNLOCK, THE DOOR IS UNLOCK BUT OUTSIDE HANDLE DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR. INSIDE HANDLE WORKS WITH NO PROBLEM. SINCE MY WARRANTY ENDED AT 60K, SO IT IS NOT COVER BUT I AM SURE MORE CARS HAVE THE SAME ISSUES AND SHOULD BE RECALL CREATED FOR THIS ISSUE,

ON SAT MORNING MY SUV CAUGHT FIRE WITHOUT WARNING. THIS OCCURRED IN INDIANAPOLIS ON HARDING ST. NEAR THE INTERSTATE EXIT. WE WERE AT A COMPLETE STOP WHEN SMOKE STARTED COMING OUT OF THE CAR THEN FLAMES. I GOT MY KIDS AND DOGS OUT. THEN I REALIZED OUR MEDICATIONS WERE IN THERE. I THEN WENT BACK TO TRY TO GRAB THE BAG. I COULDN'T BECAUSE OF HOW FAST IT WENT UP. IN THE PROCESS I ENDED WITH TWO SMALL BURNS AND A SLIGHT ABRASION. THERE WAS NO WARNING. THE SUV HAS BEEN MAINTENANCE AND GIVEN ALL REQUIRED MAINTENANCE. IN FACT IN JUNE IT WAS TAKEN IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE.AND 15000 MILE MAINTENANCE. CURRENTLY IT SUSPECTED THAT THIS WAS ELECTRIC FIRE. I ALSO HAVE A VIDEO OF SOMEONE THAT WAS PASSING BY. THE SUV WAS TOWED BY THE INDIANAPOLIS POLICE DEPARTMENT TO THEIR LOT WERE IT IS CURRENTLY.

AFTER SEVERAL COMPLAINTS OF ROUGH IDLE, BURNT OIL AND DRIVE-ABILITY ISSUES STARTING AT 7128 MILES, 16066 MILES, 21000 MILES,22711 MILES & 29356 MILES, THE ENGINE WAS REQUIRED REPLACEMENT. AFTER THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED (SHORT BLOCK WE WERE TOLD), THE BRAKE ASSIST SYSTEM (BAS) & THE FORWARD & REAR COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM ARE INTERMITTENT IN THEIR OPERATION. RANDOMLY WHEN SITTING STILL THE SENSORS WILL ALERT OR WHEN CROSS TRAFFIC (FRONT OR REAR) THE SENSORS FAIL TO DETECT. THIS WAS A DEFINITE CHANGE OF BEHAVIOR SINCE THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED. THE LOCAL DEALER SAID THEY CHECKED IT AND AFTER A FEW MILES OF DRIVING DECLARED IT TO BE WORKING PROPERLY. THIS RANDOM BEHAVIOR OCCURS SEVERAL TIMES A DAY.. ATTACHED IS A CAR FAX REPORT OF OUR VEHICLE REFLECTING THE PROBLEMS.

VEHICLE IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS OR HIGHWAY. GAS PEDAL DOES NOT RESPOND WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, CAR DECELERATES, TACHOMETER GOES DOWN TO ZERO. IN ORDER TO ACCELERATE YOU MUST REMOVE YOUR FOOT FROM GAS PEDAL, THEN REATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON STRAIGHT ROADS, HIGHWAYS, AND WHILE TURNING AT A VARIETY OF SPEEDS IE: FROM 15-70 MPH. I CANNOT PREDICT NOR CAUSE THIS TO HAPPEN. SOMETIMES I DRIVE FOR WEEKS BEFORE IT HAPPENS, THEN IT CAN HAPPEN MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE SAME DAY, SAME DRIVE. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED 5 TIMES IN ONE HOUR. I'M CONCERNED THAT I MIGHT GET REAR ENDED BY SOMEONE NOT NOTICING THAT I'M DECELERATING WITHOUT BRAKING. NO ERROR CODES APPEAR. KIA SERVICE CANNOT FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. I HAVE A LITTLE OVER A YEAR LEFT ON MY LEASE AND JUST UNDER 21,000 MILES. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR OVER A YEAR. KIA SERVICE BEING VERY PATRONIZING ABOUT THE PROBLEM!

I PURCHASED A USED 2017 KIA FOR MY DAUGHTER WITH 30 THOUSAND MILES WHEN WE RECIEVED THE KEYS NETHIER ONE WILL OPEN YOU HAVE T MANUALLY OPEN BOTH OF THEM THIS IS A SAFTY HAZARD FOR MY DAUGHTERIF SHE WAS IN A SITUTATION WHERE SHE HAD TO GET N HER CAR N A HURRY SHE WOULDNT BE ABLE TOO IS THIS A DEFECT ?
WITH ONLY 6762 MILES ON THE ODOMETER, GOING 79-80 MPH ON CRUISE CONTROL, THE FOLLOWING HAPPENED ALL AT ONCE WITHOUT WARNING: (1) LOUD THUNK UNDER THE HOOD (2) ENGINE STOPPED (3) ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN, INCLUDING AUDIO, DASHBOARD, AND HEADLIGHTS (4) RAPID DECELERATION, AS IF I HAD SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES (THOUGH I HAD NOT). (5) APPROACHING THE SHOULDER, I NOTICED THAT THE POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES WERE ALSO INACTIVE. AFTER PUTTING IN PARK, IT MIRACULOUSLY STARTED RIGHT BACK UP AND GOT ME HOME. BUT THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, AND A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE, BECAUSE THE NEXT TIME IT HAPPENS, IT'LL BE DURING RUSH HOUR AND THEN I'LL GET REAR-ENDED BY THE UBIQUITOUS TAILGATER, GOING 70 MPH. EVEN IF THE BRAKE LIGHTS WORK WHEN I GET A CHANCE TO APPLY THEM, THERE WOULD STILL BE A DELAY OF A SECOND OR TWO DURING WHICH THE VEHICLE WOULD BE RAPIDLY DECELERATING ON ITS OWN, WITHOUT BRAKE LIGHTS. NOT TO MENTION THE UNDOUBTEDLY ACCELERATED WEAR AND TEAR ON INTERNAL PARTS.

HAVE BEEN FIGHTING WITH KIA SINCE I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN DEC. OF 2016 TO NO AVAIL. PAID AN ADDITIONAL $4700 TO GET THE AUTONOMOUS BRAKING SYSTEM WHICH DOES NOT WORK. I HAVE GONE TO OTHER KIA DEALERS UNDER THE GUISE OF PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE AND NOT ONE OF THE FOUR DEALERS THAT I TESTED THE CAR AT COULD GET THIS SYSTEM TO WORK. I HAVE INFORMED KIA OF THIS FACT BUT JUST KEEP STONE WALLING ME. MY NEXT COURSE OF ACTION IS TO GO TO THE BBB, I THINK YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS SINCE IT IS A VERY IMPORTANT SAFETY ISSUE. I ALSO INTEND TO INFORM THE CENTER FOR AUTO SAFETY AND CONSUMER UNION WHO HIGHLY RATED THIS CAR. HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON [XXX] [XXX]. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).'*JB

THE CAR SLIGHTLY VEERED TO THE LEFT, AT FIRST. I BROUGHT IT UP TO THE SALES PERSON DURING THE DRIVE. THERE WAS ALSO A SLIGHT BURNING SMELL WHEN I DROVE THE CAR HOME IN THE EVENING FROM THE DEALER. I BROUGHT IT BACK THE NEXT DAY TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT, AND THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THAT HE COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING. ONE OF THE SALES' PEOPLE STATED THAT SOME NEW CARS HAVE SMELLS IN THE BEGINNING AND TO RUN THE AIR THROUGH THE CAR.
