2018 KIA SPORTAGE Unknown Or Other Problems

Passenger outside rear view mirror the paint is peeling. It’s the original rear view mirror. Vehicle looks brand new except for that mirror.

My oil drain pan has a crack in it valvoline gave me a paper for me to fill this out, I was here at valoline on 6/8 and then on 6/10 my brother inlae told me my car was leaking oil so I had to bring it back today 6/11 to find out why and that's what I was told it has to do with having a crack on the oil drain pan

Sudden strong hot fire smell out of nowhere. Immediately looked at my C to H gauge. It was not on C yet not all the way on H. I immediately looked for smoke/fire from vehicles in front of me as I have seen semis and diesel trucks appear or actually on fire while traveling. No more than Iook I up and look back down at the gauge which was now over halfway now closer to H, smell was stronger and smoke seen seeping through my instrument dashboard and honestly I was having a brief moment where it didn't seem real (between military trauma and fear of burning up in a vehicle). I was right at a stoplight so very quickly smoke started to engulf my engine hood coming out of all sides and I felt it was about to explode as quick as the smell and clouds appeared. I took an immediate left turn and quickly pulled into the parking lot near and immediately got out and called 911. Someone seen it up in smoke and told me he thought it smelled like a fire. I informed him 911 was coming. Two fire engines showed up along with EMS & police along with about 3 non fire engine volunteers. As I turned the vehicle off immediately prior to 911, the smoke started to subside outside of the vehicle. A firefighter in charge informed it was a fire risk/hazard, do not turn on and to contact KIA right way to report...have towed. I have been informed there was huge amounts of oil loss at one time, engine leak concern involving an oil feed tube. I was informed by dealership that so much oil spilling out that a fire could have started if it did not. Firefighters showed sprayed oil to the back of the vehicle under hood that should not ever be there and recommended to not drive.

I lost power and was sandwiched between semis and as I was going over one of the mountains, I went from 70 mph which was the speed limit at the time down to 45 to 50 I mean I couldn’t keep the speed. It was sudden with no warning and also had this happen on previous occasions which was reported to KIA. It caused road rage from drivers and also almost multiple accidents over time. I thought at one point I was going over the side of the mountain that didn't have guard rails due to sudden slow down and no where to go and semi behind me. Ended up with a new Waste Gate.

Defective exterior rear passenger door handle came off completely when opening door.

There wasn't an emissions control in my steering wheel. My car was stolen and was more than a total loss when it was found.

The tow hitch can apparently start a fire. I can not afford to rent a car & must use mine as I am disabled & have a mother with dementia, so I need my vehicle. Kia still has not resolved this issue. This recall has been open since September, 10 MONTHS! This is the THIRD recall for this vehicle, one has a current lawsuit.

After an oil change on Jan 4, 2023, I have driven approximately 3500 miles. On April 12 I had to brake a little harder on a hill turn & the dash oil light came on & off. Took it to the garage to be checked. Analyzer said nothing was wrong. On April 13, it happened again at a stop light, immediately took it back to the garage to be checked. The mechanic discovered there was ZERO OIL in the engine, even though there was no sign of any leakage. I've seen no visible sign of burning oil and no off odor. Had garage do a complete oil change, (even though it should go 5k between changes), and will check after 1k miles. Mileage at oil change was 72078 and today 4/14/23 is approximately 72100 Were no accident and is not running (but I'm watching) but if the engine had seized I was in the middle of the road, if on the Interstate it would have been bad.

While the 2018 Kia Sportage is in drive proceeding forward I have noticed on numerous occasions the transmission just dies out. When stepping on the gas, you can hear the engine rev but for a few seconds, there is no reaction by the transmission and the vehicle doesn't increase in speed; the vehicle just coasts. This occurs intermittently. While on highway travel this possesses a danger as other vehicles can approach your vehicle quickly and they might not notice you're having a mechanical malfunction. I tried to make appointments with the KIA dealership. The vehicle is a 2018 and has 25,000 miles. They threaten me with big bills if the vehicle is not covered under warranty. I finally made the appointment and when I dropped the vehicle off they said it would take more than a week to diagnose the vehicle. There are no warning lamps, bells, buzzers, or any notice being given to the driver that a mechanical malfunction is occurring.

Kia motors is at it again, my Disabled Husband took car in twice to Dealer, who is licensed to sell and fix your vehicles , promised loaner car, on fixed income, fighting Cancer, see attached documents, emails from KIA, been going on 7 years, first Soul now Sportage. COURTESY KIA OF BRANDON , months BACK came to our home and allegedly did the LATEST RECALL ON FUSES, thought that was done, Courtesy KIA of Brandon told my husband NO OUTSTANDING recalls, now KIA writes and states needs to be done? Who is keeping records. We had kids put on couple years ago, then car went into limp mode almost got my husband killed. Kia had our car towed, brought loaner. WE CANNOT afford rental. That was halfway repair with ext on wiring harness???, now lights on dash going on and off. See attached, KIA could care less and now, we were lied to? The person they sent didn't repair the Fuses? Kia paid the Government a fortune in fines but the Defective car owners are always in danger and always getting the run around. [XXX], Mr. [XXX], plz excuse spelling. Even [XXX] from Safety Organization says these cars need to be off the road. Our car is malfunctioning, and we were blatantly lied to is RECALL ON FUSES? REPAIR. SENATOR [XXX] HELPED WITH THIS, we need someone to step up. [XXX] and [XXX], see all documents going back to 2015. This Kia Sportage's alarm system does not go off when the passenger front window is broken. My car was broken into and the youth stripped the steering column and was able to start my car without needing the key nor having the key within the vehicle. This is a security issue and allows the vehicles to be easily stolen. These safety issues should be address and fixed immediately by Kia. The federal government should also hold Kia responsible for the spike in stolen vehicles across the U.S. seeing they know about the issue but have done nothing to fix it. The vehicle was then crashed and left running by the youth. I have included the estimate from Progressive to get it fixed.

I was driving to work, sitting at a stoplight when my car started releasing smoke from under the hood. All warning lights lit up, the car stalled, and the smoke got darker and more intense. Within a minute, flames started appearing under the front of the vehicle and began spreading towards the back of the car

I HAVE A 2018 KIA SPORTAGE THAT HAS AIR VENTS PEELING. I WENT TO THE KIA DEALERSHIP AND WAS HOPING THAT THE WARRANTY WOULD COVER THIS FIX, BUT THAT WAS NOT THE CASE. THE KIA DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THE VENTS PEELING IS BECAUSE OF THE CHEMICAL REACTION WITH THE PRODUCT THAT I WAS USING. I HAVE DETAILED MY CARS SINCE THE BEGINNING OF TIME...AND HAVE SWORN BY MEGUIAR'S SUPREME SHINE. I STILL DO, AND I AM CERTAIN IT IS CRAPPY VENT MATERIAL THAT KIA HAS. I CONTACTED MEGUIAR'S AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID THAT ALL THEIR PRODUCTS ARE WATER BASED AND IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. I HAVE USED THE SUPREME SHINE ON ALL THE RUBBER/PLASTIC MATERIAL AND NOTHING HAPPENED TO THE REST OF THE INTERIOR, EXCEPT THE AIR VENTS. SO, I CALLED KIA CONSUMER ASSISTANCE CENTER AND LISA ANSWERED... HOPING TO SEE IF THEY WILL STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND FIND THE SOLUTION. LISA SAID FOR ME TO GO TO OTHER DEALERSHIPS AND HOPEFULLY GET THEM TO FIND A SOLUTION IN MY FAVOR. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE WORST PRODUCT ON THE MARKET. THE WARRANTY THEY OFFER IS FAKE AND UNWORTHY.

MY KIA SPORTAGE NEEDED A STEERING COLUMN REPLACEMENT AND AFTER IT WAS REPLACED THE CAR STARTED PULLING TO THE LEFT AND IT'S HARD TO KEEP STRAIGHT, I HAVE INFORMED THE DEALER AND TIRE ROTATION AND ALIGNMENT WAS DONE TO THE CAR BUT NEVER CHANGED THE CONDITION

FINALLY I REACHED THE SALES MANAGER AND EXPLAINED HOW DISGUSTING IT WOULD BE FOR A DISABLED MAN WHO IS PAYING FOR A DEFECTIVE CAR AND PROMISED A LOANER TO HAVE TO CALL UBER. HE AGREED TO LOAN ONE UNDER "TEST DRIVE" GUISE. FRIDAY 9,2019 HEARD NOTHING ABOUT OUR CAR. WE CALLED AT 4:30. FERNANDO STATED THAT THEY HAD IT IN BACK AND DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT. SATURDAY 10,2019..1:45, JENNY THE SERVICE ADVISOR CALLED AND STATED THAT OUR CAR WAS READY " WE PUT A KSDS WIRING HARNESS". NO FURTHER EXPLANATION. NOT EVEN VIA EMAIL. THE SERVICE TICKET ON STATES...ENGINE NOISE PASS, PUT WIRING HARNESS JUMPER. I LOOKED AT THE PROTOCOL ON NHTSA SITE. IT STATES CLEARLY. THE CAR MUST BE HOOKED UP TO INTERNET EVERYDAY AND A 21 STEP PROCEDURE TO CHECK FOR ENGINE NOISE. ON THE SERVICE TICKET, MILEAGE WAS IDENTICAL IN AND OUT. HOW DO YOU REALLY TEST A CAR WITHOUT DRIVING IT. THIS WAS A RUSH JOB ON THEIR PART... EMPLOYEES PRETENDING TO NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS MASSIVE DEFECT. THE 26 PAGE DOCUMENT ATTACHED SPEAKS VOLUMES. WE ASKED FOR A PHOTO OF THE WIRING HARNESS THAT WAS DAMAGED. THEY REFUSED, THEY ALSO STATED THAT IT IS BEING SENT BACK TO THE MANUFACTURER. MEANWHILE...TWO DISABLED PERSONS GET TO DRIVE IN FEAR, LIVE IN FEAR AND PAY FOR A DEFECTIVE ENGINE/CAR AND WAS SCAMMED BY CITRUS KIA, KIA MOTORS, KIA AMERICA. ATTORNEYS GENERAL, STATES ATTORNEYS, SENATORS, PLEASE HOLD KIA ACCOUNTABLE. PLEASE MAKE THEM ACTUALLY SHOW UP IN FRONT OF CONGRESS ♿ PLANT CITY....PER THE DOCUMENT. AS I WRITE THIS, MY DISABLED HUSBAND IS IN A TOW TRUCK WITH THE DRIVER BECAUSE HE WENT TO THE DOLLAR GENERAL STORE, TURNED THE CORNER ONTO A BUSY HIGHWAY AND THE CAR LIMP MODE LIGHT CAME ON, CAR SHUT DOWN DANGEROUSLY SLOW. LUCKILY HE WAS NOT REAR-ENDED. THIS IS PATHETIC FOR KIA MOTORS, KIA AMERICA TO GET AWAY WITH THIS. THESE VEHICLES NEED TO BE BOUGHT BACK. THEY HAVE NO CLUE WHAT IS REALLY HAPPENING. WE TOOK OUR CAR IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO TO COURTESY KIA FOR AN OIL CHANGE. THEY SAID ALL WAS GOOD. CLEARLY IT IS NOT ! KIA DID US, TWO DISABLED AMERICANS WRONG. SOUL 1ST, SCAMMED INTO GOING MORE IN DEPTH BECAUSE SOUL WAS BAD... KNOWING THERE IS A MAJOR DEFECT. THAT IS DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICE. PLAIN AND SIMPLE AND DEALER'S ARE COMPLICIT.
