The headlights on this car are pointed too high. When driving on the road at night vehicles coming the other way often assume you have your bright lights on and flash you with their bright lights which can temporarily blind you - obviously a big safety problem! If this only happened once in a while I'd say no big deal but it happens EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU DRIVE THE CAR! I've spoken with other 2020 Kia Telluride owners and they report the exact same problem. I've spoken to the Kia representative at our local dealer about this and his attitude was basically "not my problem". Please, tell Kia to fix this problem. Otherwise there will be accidents that could have been avoided. Thanks.
The contact owns a 2020 Kia Telluride. The contact stated while attempting to have a vehicle inspected, it was discovered that there was an open recall on the VIN. The VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V148000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING); however, the part to do the recall repair was not available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
It took 8 months to repair the Recall #SC299B HALOGEN HEADLAMP-BOTH. Repair was done 04/03/2025, which appears to have not last long as high beam is low again and I am afraid to drive in early morning, dusk, or evening due to the timid, low bearing high beams. This is very unsettling as we have made three complaints due to negligence and lack of efficiency for recall repair, being in an accident due to not seeing a deer run across and we hit it, as well as, failed state inspection due to light issues (twice) that negatively impacted financial stability and job security as one driver has to have a clear safety inspection in order to work. Kia corporate has been contacted 6 times via email and called back to discuss ongoing issues, however, there does not appear to be any resolution and/or willingness to discuss ongoing issues with our car. It would be nice to discuss this matter and find a solution that alleviates hardship this recall (and apparent lack of fix as lights continue to be an issue) and Kia dealer/company has made. We would appreciate being bought out and/or provided reimbursements and buyout. Either way, we hope others do NOT face the ongoing stress and issues telluride has given us. It is not ideal or fair to continue being fearful of the safety and reliability of our car despite company’s “attempt” of fixing it.
I have had mi car in multiple shops and been told they can’t repair my headlights. The bulb keeps blowing and now the headlight highbeam doesn’t work and my state inspection is coming up next month and the corporate office says there nothing they can do till the part is available. I need my car fixed for my safety and my family’s safety. I don’t know what else to do
The contact owns a 2020 Kia Telluride. The contact received Kia Campaign Number: 296 for the "Halogen Headlamp High Beam". The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that on one occasion while driving at an undisclosed speed, the high-beam lights failed to illuminate as intended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was found. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer. The dealer was unable to repair the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure had gotten worse. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? POWER TRAIN, OIL CONSUMPTION, CAMSHAFT POSITION , CIRCUIT SENSORS A X 4, HEADLAMPS HIGH BEAMS DO NOT FUNCTION.CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FAILS. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I DONT FEEL SAFE DRIVING AFTER SUNSET IF I CANT SEE ROAD WHEN NEEDED MY HIGH BEAMS DID NOT FUNCTION I WAS TOLD IT WAS FIXED BUT THERE WERE NO PARTS. STILL AN ISSUE. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? YES about 4 times. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? NO BEFORE THE 4TH WEEK OF HAVING VEHICLE AFTER 3 WEEKS OF PURCHASE WITH NO OIL.I REPORTED IT TO Y SELLER WAS TOLD TO PAY TO FIX AT SERVICE BUT I DID NOT EXPECT TO BUY A FAULTY VEHICLE AFTER THE STRUGGLE WAS TO OBTAIN SUCH VEHICE FOR MY BUSINESS.
I brought veh to Covina Kia on 1-6-25 for recall (SC299B) of headlight high beams failure. George Arroyo refused to take my veh in telling me my warranty had expired. I told him the safety recall had to be addressed. I insisted mileage doesn’t not void a safety recall. He finally took veh in. My veh has been at dealership for 16 days and has not been touched. It is obvious dealership doesn’t want to perform recall because there is no money to be made for the technician and service advisor. I am getting automated texts but no person calls back to inform me about the exaggerated delays. I have filed a complaint with Kia Motors and situation has not changed, my vehicle is still parked at the dealership.

Continues to have issues with dealership to remedy/correct recalls. Have waited for 60+ days since recall remedy was initiated in August 2024 Headlights continue to be a hazzard and due to this we had unfortunate incident of a deer running out and inability to see in the dusk of 6am due to lack of head lights. This has caused immense hardship regarding finances and maintaining a job as we are down one car and Kia has not offered and:or received all parts for any repairs of the recall. Advised if we attempted to fix one recall (power seat) then our “ticket will be closed and you will need to pay out of pocket for the headlights”. However this is not consistent or within the regulations of Recalls and good faith attempts. I have already contacted an attorney to pursue legal counsel. I feel KIA will need to apologize and really earn trust from all consumers as Telluride has been an issue to this day, even newer models. Attached is Allstate claim of the incident on 10/18/24 AND attachments reflecting recall announcements via postal and several follow up appointments since remedy was offered, however no action nor diligence made to correct recalls or follow up as appropriately with us to keep us updated about parts etc. .
I have had been in several times to correct the recall, they noted the seat repaired under warrenty but the service advisor was stuck when retrieving my car. Headlights have need in twice and I’m being told the fix failed to correct the headlights. Wipers stop working intermittently and paint is down to bare metal along windshield and hood. This car is crap.. rear seat folds up when sitting on it and I am repiadmy told they don’t see a problem. Seats are not electric in the rear. This has a feature of an auto close from the back for loading. And it is triggered when my kids sit in it. Only the right rear captains chair.
The headlights perform poorly when fully functional, one is out and when I replaced the light it still is not working and now that one is out I am scared to drive at night for fear of hitting a child or pet in my complex. And i will not allow my son to drive because he may get seriously hurt as well. This issue needs to be resolved as to why the headlights just go out and are not fixable with a bulb replacement.

The recall 24V148 regarding headlight High beam issue from Gebruary of thus year still has no remedy in order to fix the issue. It has been 6 months and the dealerships just say sorry we don't have any solution even though the recall associated with my car doesn't apply due to the headlamps being replaced with completely different ones already myself. Why is it being allowed that y kkntha later they still don't have a solution so this causes issues with my income because I can't rent my car out due to the open recall
The contact owns a 2020 Kia Telluride. The contact stated while driving at approximately 40 MPH, the contact attempted to activate the high beam headlights; however, the high-beam headlights failed to function. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that the high beam headlights warning light illuminated but failed to function as intended. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V148000 (Exterior Lighting) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

The highbeams quit working Causing poor visibility
Projector high beams not working. Tested the fuse and relay and both tested fine. Replaced headlights. No remedy other than replacing entire headlight assembly. This is a safety issue and should be recalled and repaired by dealer.
The high beams do not work. Neither one. Bulb replacement did not fix either.
The high beams of the vehicle are no longer operational. Changing the light bulb does not solve the problem. As per the dealer, the entire unit must be replaced. The failure occurred while driving in the night.
The hi-beam function in the headlights are inoperable. I recently purchased this vehicle and the service department at the dealership of purchase confirmed afterwards that the hi beam function does not work. I do not understand how this is not a safety recall on all 2020 Tellurides as there are many forums from individuals who have experienced the same issue. Simply replacing the faulty system kicks the bucket down the road. Unable to utilize the high beams in remote areas reduces safety.
High beams no longer work on the front lights.
Both High Beam headlights failed. Turning on the High Beam illuminates the blue indicator light on the dash, but no change occurs in exterior illumination. The dangers of high speed highway driving (70 MPH) go way up. There is no backup in case the low beam also breaks. And the cost to repair is extremely expensive.
The contact owns a 2020 Kia Telluride. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the high-beam headlights became inoperable. The contact stated while attempting to activate the high-beam headlights, the headlights were inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed headlight assembly. The contact was informed that the headlight assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The parts were ordered for the repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 99,800. The contact stated the dealership is going to replace the headlights under the extended warranty.

HEADLIGHTS: have DEPLORABLE visibility, particularly around corners making it nearly impossible to see at night. It is GROSSLY DANGEROUS, and unacceptable to equip a vehicle with such low quality headlights. However, On January 13th 2024 the hi beams ceased to function at all, which has left me unable to drive at night. As a single mother this is a huge hinderance for my young sons and their activities especially this time of year getting dark at 4:30pm. DRIVER SEATBELT MALFUNCTION: The seatbelt has all but completely failed to retract upon removal, leaving the entire thing loose causing to twist and get caught in the door. It will not retract upon collision which also is a PRIORITY SAFETY CONCERN. DRIVER SIDE MIRROR: Gets stuck in the folded position, and more times than not, I then have to manually unfold it. This causes the saved position for my optimal rear visibility to get comprised and I then have to adjust while driving which is ALSO dangerous. The dealer has addressed this and said the wiring was loose to the mirror inside the driver door and assured me they fixed it, however is STILL getting stuck 90 percent of the time.
High beam lights stopped working. Regular lights work. Seems like this is happening to other owners of same make and model year.
Started to notice the high beams where not working. The dash light shows the high beams were on but the lights never changed. I purchased 2 new low/high beams bulbs. That did not fix the issue. My telluride has over 60k miles on it. Doing teacher everyone who has a 2020 kia telluride has this issue just after vehicle hits just over 60k miles. Never noticed before as we never drove at night time before november.
My high beam headlights are not working. There is no change whether the high beams are on or off.
High beams quit working. I have replaced the relay, fuse, and bulbs. Low beams work but the high beam functionality is 100% lost. My trim utilizes the single bulb with electronic curtain to toggle between low and high beams. Seems to be a deeper issue within the headlight assembly.
Brights stopped working. They do not turn on, even though you pull the lever, and the dash light comes on
Right high beam stopped working. Low beams work, no indicators, bulb has been changed. Jist stopped working.
Bright head light stopped working without any cause.
High beams failure. Yes it is available for inspection. I live/travel in rural area with large sized wildlife. I require the ability to have high beams. I haven’t taken it to a service center, nor has any inspection been conducted. No warning lights, to the contrary, the interior instrumentation shows high beams are on even though they aren’t. This has been since I purchased the vehicle 2 months ago.
Hi Beams on the headlights both stopped working at the same time without warning. I understand this is a known problem with the 2020 Telluride so I am just logging this one in as another instance
RH high beam light inoperable. Does not go high beam when selected. LH ok. LH drivers mirror does not extend or retract most times when locking or unlocking the car.
High beam headlights will not turn on
I was driving during the night, tried to turn my high beams on and they did not work. This caused a severe driving hazard as we were driving winding roads filled with wild life and I had very limited visablilty. There was no warning indicators shown. Replaced both headlamps and the high beams still do not work.
We were on a back country road in the dark, tried to use our high beam lights, but they would not come on. The blue light illuminated as if they were turning on, but nothing happened. We had no warning lights or indication that the system had failed.
My high beams aren't working. All I have access to are my low beams.
This started in July/August. I went in to get into my car and noticed that although my car was making the sound of unlocking, it wasn’t unlocking. Neither the key fob or pressing the button on the door handle would unlock my car. I manually used the key to get in. Once I got in, I had a rear collision warning on my dash and was unable to shift from park. I overrode the shift mechanism and took it to a mechanic. They hooked it up to a reader and was tracking down the error when all of sudden the error code disappeared, and they were unable to progress. I left there and drove to work without issues. Two days later (Saturday) it happened again. I disconnected the negative battery cable and waited a few minutes before I hooked it back up. It was fine for about a month and then it started happening again. This time I tried the battery cable again and it worked for a while, but it started to happen more regularly. I took it to a Kia dealer but they were unable to replicate it. They said if it happens again record it and send a the video. Two days later it happened, and I sent them a video. I took my car back to the dealer and it has been there 11/9. In between visits, it happened, and I overrode the shift mechanism and I noticed my dash lights were almost out as well as the other issues. I believe I know what the issue is. I noticed this only happens when it’s cool in the early morning and then, when the sun comes up, there is an abundance of moisture on the inside windshield. I believe that heavy moisture is shorting out the electronics in my dash. I’ve never had an issue when it rains or midday. It’s probably why this has been so noticeable in the fall early winter. We have lots of mornings in the 30’s and they quickly warm up when the sun comes out. I have read some online forums that talk about the condensation issue with the Kia Telluride. I haven’t found any that talks about the electronic issue however.
High beam headlights stopped working without warning
Headlights work fine, but the High Beams don't. The light in the car shows them on, but they do not turn on outside the vehicle. I can't confirm how long they haven't worked since this was the vehicle my wife drove but very rarely at night. Now that I'm driving it in the dark in the mornings and evenings, I noticed it.
Complete loss of high beams during vehicle operation. This problem is intermittent. This has caused reduced visibility and can increase risk of a crash resulting in injury and or property damage. Kia has knowledge of the problem and has sent me a letter that extended the warranty to 15 years/ 150,000 miles. It is very difficult to get the headlights replaced under warranty because of the intermittent problem and for this there should be a complete recall of the defective headlights. Increasing the warranty doesn't fix the problem because they are defective. I believe kia is increasing the warranty to avoid a recall. Please issue a recall before there is injury.
The headlights on my vehicle do not provide adequate light. Also, the bright headlight option does not work. The blue indicator on the dash illuminates but neither of the headlights produce bright lights, only the standard lights.
Hi beams stopped working
The high beams suddenly stop working without any prior indication. Although the dashboard indicates that the high beams are on, they are not functioning. Conversely, the low beams continue to work properly. No warning lights are illuminated, and despite attempting to resolve the issue by replacing the bulbs, it remains unresolved.
Hibeams completely stopped working without warning
While driving down a very dark road, I noticed my high beams did not work. High beams are an essential feature for safe nighttime driving, and when they're not working, it can be dangerous because non-functioning high beams can compromise your ability to see and react to potential dangers while also affecting the safety of other drivers, making it a significant safety concern. I made an appointment to have this issue diagnosed but my appointment date is not until Jan 2nd which also poses a safety risk.
The contact's husband owns a 2020 Kia Telluride. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the high-beam headlights became inoperable. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had been occurring intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer several times, but the dealer could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Fred Anderson Kia of Greenville (2424 Laurens Rd, Greenville, SC 29607) where the high beam fuse and bolts were inspected, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.
Mileage: 44,000
Hi beam indicator on dash comes on when activated but the headlamps do not go to hi beam. Can't see as well at night without hi beams. Hi beams haven't worked the last few night drives. There are no warning la.ps to indicate a problem.
High beams do no turn on, however, the light indicator on the dash is on.
Both high beams suddenly went out and are no longer working. Regular headlights are working though. This is a safety concern.
My hi beams don’t work. I replaced the fuse and the bulbs and still nothing. It shows the indicator on the dash when I switch to hi beams but the function itself doesn’t work.
The high beams no longer work at all. The blue indicator light on the dash will appear, but the high beams are not working. The low beams work just fine as well as the daytime running lights. Bulb replacement did not fix the issue. It is a major safety concern not having access to high beams.
High beam lights do not work. It shows them on but they never turn on. We found out driving on a mountain road in NM that had no street lights. We had to slow down to 10 miles an hour because it was so dark and we couldn't see. It was scary and dangerous. We wouldn't have been able to react in time if a deer or other animal ran into the street. We looked it up and saw it was a known problem. We checked it numerous times, and it never worked. The driver's side window won't close all the way. It has a 1/2 in gap. The only way to get it to stay closed when we are not in the car is to hold the window lever up, turn off the car, and open the door. However, as soon as you start the vehicle, it drops down again. It also doesn't open all the way when you click the down level. It stops about a 1/2 inch left showing. This causes a lot of road noise that is very distracting and makes the safety features difficult to hear. The wire that holds and lowers the spare tire down won't go back up. We had to remove it because it would drag on the ground. We are unable to carry the spare, so we are at risk if we have a flat. We have not had any of these issues evaluated by the dealership. However, we do plan to.
Both high-beam headlights stopped working simultaneously, creating a safety concern.
The high beams on the vehicle are non functional and are an essential component of the vehicle for safety reasons. Any person driving the highway at night or that lives in a rural low light area will find it impossible to drive the vehicle safely. A mechanic has attempted to identify the problem and was unable. The vehicle does not display any codes of a mal function even after running a diagnostic. What recourse is left?
Purchased my Telluride as a Certified Preowned a few days ago. Tonight, I noticed that the headlight high beams aren't working correctly. The driver's side high beams work correctly when turned on, however the high beams on the passenger side will not turn on. I attached a video.
High beams stopped working, although the dash light indicates they are on. No change in light intensity from low to high beam.
I have a Kia Telluride 2020 that was certified pre-owned and had past the safety inspection. After a few minutes of using the hi-beams, they shut off and reverted to low-beams. The dashboard icon still showed the hi-beams we're on but they were not. They have continued to not engage.
High beam headlights completely stopped working while driving at night on an unfamiliar road during a road trip. They both stopped at the same time and have not worked since and they are not burnt out.
HIGH BEAM LIGHTS FAILED TO COME ON. AFTER TRYING TO ENGAGE THE HB THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WOULD SHOW HB ON BUT THEY WERE NOT ON. I OFTEN DRIVE ON DARK, WINDING COUNTRY ROADS INHABITED BY DEER AND OTHER ANIMALS AND NEED THESE LIGHTS TO SEE AHEAD AND CONTROL THE VEHICLE. I AM ATTEMPTING TO GET AN APPOINTMENT AT THE NEAREST KIA DEALER.
High beam headlights stopped working. Took to the dealer and they stated the curtain that goes from low to high is malfunctioning and must have new headlight assembly for driver and passenger sides.
My high beams just stopped working
High beams stopped working around 60,000 miles, changed the bulb but did not fix it. Had Kia dealer inspect it and said the entire unit would need to be replaced but Kia did not consider it a safety issue so all costs would be bore by me. Clearly this is a safety issue that needs to be remedied by Kia.
High beam lights just stopped working as soon as my warranty was up. Went to Kia they said i would have to replace my entire light housing
Switching from low to high beam does not operate. Vehicle no longer allows high beams.
I live in the desert where there isn't any light at night. I was driving home as usual and my highbeams would not turn on. I couldn't see very well because it was so dark and had to go really slow and way under the speed limit. I was so nervous due to the lack of visibility. It put myself and my young kids in danger. I don't feel safe driving at night now. There was no warning indication on the dash. It shows the blue highbeam light when I turn them on, but they don't actually go on.
The high beam headlights have stopped working out of the blue. The standard headlights are working. I live in dark rural area and rely on these high beams for night driving. Wondering in there is going to be a recall to repair this issue.
The contact owns a 2020 Kia Telluride. The contact stated that while driving at night at an undisclosed speed, the high-beam headlight switch was activated; however, the high beam headlights failed to operate as designed. The contact was concerned that the failure could cause an accident because the illumination was not adequate while driving at night. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.
Mileage: 66,000
The high beams are not working, since the low beams work there is no reason to change bulb as it only has one. It appears that the shutter is not working.
Over the past few days, I have noticed a complete failure of the high beam functionality in my vehicle. Whenever I attempt to engage the high beams, there is no response or illumination. This issue persists regardless of the driving conditions or the operation of other lighting features, such as the low beams, turn signals. The inability to utilize high beams while driving at night significantly compromises visibility, thereby increasing the risk of collisions, particularly with animals that may suddenly appear on the roadway. This issue not only endangers my own safety but also jeopardizes the lives of pedestrians, other motorists, and the innocent wildlife that inhabit our surroundings.
High beam headlights stopped working. There are no maintenance indicators that tell me the high beams do not work. When I pull the switch to turn on high beams, the high beam dash indicator lights up on the dash, but the high beams do not turn on. I have replaced both high beam bulbs, but that did not fix the issue, so I just do not drive this vehicle at night anymore. I was researching recalls and issues with my make/model, and read about other people having this issue and researched how to report it. This is a serious concern when driving at night, as the low beam lights by themselves are a hazard because they do not properly project lighting more than a few feet. Without high beams, driving at night is completely dangerous. The problem has not been confirmed by a dealer or service center, or inspected. There are no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms.
High beams do not work
My high beams on the headlights have ceased to work. Low beams not casting enough distance for save sight ahead. It appears to be working on the display when switching to high beam but neither headlight is changing.
The contact owns a 2020 Kia Telluride. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the high beam headlights were inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was determined that the headlight assemblies needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 102,981.
Mileage: 102,981
This vehicle does not have separate high and low-beam bulbs for it's headlights. Rather, it has a shutter to change the amount of light. Both shutters failed to the closed position, only allowing the low-beam to operate. The only solution is to change out the entire headlight assembly. Not having high-beams at night is a safety hazard since the low-beam output isn't enough to illuminate a far enough distance while driving at highway speeds. It is unknown if only one shutter failed and if that is what causing both shutters not to operate properly. Kia service center was not able to diagnose this for me. Also, unknown is how this may impact other safety features at night by not having the high-beams.
High beams stopped working. No fault of owner. Took to two Kia dealerships that would not pay the $1800 to replace lights. We can not pass state inspection and dangerous driving dark roads at nights. Vehicle still under “bumper to bumper warranty”. Should be a recall or repaired by Kia.
While driving all of a sudden high beams shut off and would not come back on. Attempted to fix issue by replacing bulbs. This did not fix the issue. Technician looked at the wiring into headlights and no issue was found. Have not been able to fix thus issue. It is going on a year now without having high beams. During my research multiple other owners have Same issue. I spoke to kia and was told 10 months ago that they are working on a recall for this issue. Still no recall issued. I have spoken to multiple other owners that have same make and model they have Same issue and had to pay out of pocket to replace both headlight assemblies to fix the issue. This is unacceptable and a high safety issue!
The high beams have went out without warning. Driving at night with only low beams can be very dangerous. I live in a rural community so not being able to see potential wild animals in the road is dangerous for me and my family. It has also not been fixed my replacing the lights.
My windshield cracked out of no where. My bright lights stopped working while driving home.
High beams no longer work
Highbeams not changing from low beam to high beam. I was unable to see driving in dark areas. The dealership found a short causing the curtain to not open fully keeping the low beams on. The dealer replaced the head lamp assembly under warranty.
The contact owns a 2020 Kia Telluride. The contact stated that the headlights failed to adequately illuminate the roadway while driving. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle had not been diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 44,000.
Mileage: 44,000
The contact owns a 2020 Kia Telluride. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed at night, the headlights failed to adequately illuminate the roadway. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the headlamp actuators were inoperable, and the headlamp housings needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: PE23002 (Exterior Lighting). The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
Mileage: 100,000
High beam headlights failed. Internal display indicated they were on, but they were not. They have never come back on. Dealership states entire assembly needs to be replaced - not covered under warranty.
The high beam lights failed to turn on and will not turn on at all..
Bright headlights stopped working.
As I was driving home down country roads my bright lights went out. I now only have regular headlights and no one has indicate they know how to fix the problem. This is a huge safety concern as I need them especially driving down dark country roads. I now have to drive another vehicle at night bc you cannot see.
My high beams have all of a sudden stopped working. The light on the dash indicates that they are on, but they don't work at all. This poses a safety issue when driving the vehicle at night. I have an appointment with my dealer to have the problem looked at and hopefully fixed, although I have been seeing that there are many issues with the high beams on this model
High beams do not work. Had bulbs replaced but no effect. Checked all fuses, and they checked out ok.
High beams not working even after a fuse/relay replacement. Both went out at the same time, have yet to take it in for repair in hopes a recall covers this issue soon.
Several months ago, my high beams quit working inexplicably. The panel indicator light does indeed work (ie, it shows the "blue high beam" icon when I engage), however, the high beams themselves do not. I brought it to the dealer for repair, but they told me that there is no fix that they know of --short of replacing the entire light assemblies on both sides, which would be very expensive (and unnecessary). This is extremely unsafe. I frequently travel at night and in the mountains, and it has changed my driving habits significantly. I can't believe that KIA has not yet issued a recall, as the bit of online research i have done for this problem indicates there are many people experiencing the same issue. Yet there is no repair solution. I hope it does not take a serious accident/injury for KIA to address it. Given the lack of visibility with no high beams, it is inevitable that accidents WILL HAPPEN with this deficiency. I feel the NHTSA needs to take immediate action and hold KIA responsible for a recall/fix! Thank you
The contact owns a 2020 Kia Telluride. The contact stated that the high beam headlights failed to operate as needed while activated. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was given an estimate for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
Mileage: 72,000
My high beam lights do not work. My low beams are all that I have. It is a safety hazard at night due to not having adequate lighting to drive in dark areas. I have had no warning lamps or notifications come on but it has been going on for at least 1-2 months. I have been thinking my lights weren’t bright when switching between bright and dim but just put it to the text on 3/13/2023 and realized they are not in fact changing despite the bright light signal turning blue on my display.
I was traveling with my family and while driving on a dark road, I turned in my high beam lights on, but nothing happened. I tried several times but they still did not work. Just a few weeks ago there were working. I do not have any indications on my dashboard of any issues. I do use the Kia app and the last healthy alert indicated no issues. I did a little research online and found a forum with other Kia customers having the same issue. Because of this, I decided to make an appointment with the dealership and file a complaint to assure this issue gets resolved in a timely manner.
Brights not working even though dash indicates they are on. Took car back to where I purchased and they told me there was a recall on the headlight shutter. They said to take car to Kia. I contacted Kia and was told by service department that there is NO recall on bights although they are getting many complains on this issue
High beam lights on both sides stopped functioning
High beam function does not work. Went out completely with no warning or indication.
High- beam headlights are not working. Indicator on the dashboard says they are on but they don’t change from low beam.
High Beams failed with no notice and are non-operational. Took to dealership and was told the issue was a design issue and was told that KIA would not cover the defect. Contacted KIA customer service and they denied to cover the repair. A simple Google search shows there are multiple incidents of this happening.
The contact owns a 2020 Kia Telluride. The contact stated while driving at various speeds at night, the high-beam headlights failed to function as needed. The contact stated that he was uncertain if the high beam symbol was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the headlight assembly switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.
Mileage: 68,000
High beams no longer work on the car. No high beams creates an obvious safety risk while driving at night. The problem was confirmed by an independent service provider. The provider tried the bulb and that did not fix the problem. They said it was some kind of mechanical damper in the lighting unit that was likely the issue. I have an appointment Wednesday with Vision Kia East Rochester to get their diagnostics of the issue. There is no warning lights and as far as the dashboard of the car is concerned...the high beams are functioning as they should (though they certainly are not functioning at all).
When I bought the car I wasn’t aware that the bright light will not come on. This is a huge safety issue as I can’t use my brights in the dark. I have almost hit multiple deer as I couldn’t see them in the dark area I was in. Dealership is aware of it.
High Beam lights stopped working at the same time at about 65K miles. I live in a rural area and went to use them and found it odd the light on the dash would come on but lights did not change. Took car in and was told it would be about $1200 - $1500 per headlight to repair. There was no alternative to just changing the bulb the whole mechanism would have to be changed. There were no warnings they were going out, not one at a time just bam! The area I drive in has lots of large wild animals(deer, hog, coyotes) and curves in the road and this makes for a complete driving hazard for me and my family. I try not to drive very late at night when the animals are usually moving due to the fact that I cannot see well with no high beams. This issue is keeping me from doing my normal day to day activities if they happen to go into the night.
This is an addendum to NHTSA tracking # 11508192. Please see attached Kia Dealer repair recommendation which is to Replace both Front headlamps with a cost quote of $1,682.54!!!! This vehicle is a 2020 with less than 65,000 miles.
Complete loss of high beam headlight function without warning. The failure occurred on completely dark rural roads at night. It is a huge safety issues as it compromises navigation and increases the risk of hitting deer or other large animals. The car is dangerous to the occupants of the vehicle in these conditions. The high beam indicator dashboard light illuminates, but the high beams do not engage. This is a mechanical issue with the shutter or headlight assembly not lifting into the high beam position. The mechanic at a non Kia affiliated service and repair location observed that you can clearly see the head light assembly sticking and when it tries to transition from low beam to high beam. Kia dealerships are keenly aware of and clearly informed of this factory defect. They offer no solution other than to replace the entire headlight assembly with the same defective assembly with no assurances it will not occur again. The cost to replace both headlight assemblies is significant and creates a hardship for me as a fixed income retiree. As previously stated, there was no warning and the high beam indicator light illuminates as if the high beams are working.
High beams just stopped working and won't turn back on. The bulbs were changed and a new relay was tried out, both did nothing. The dealer is looking into it further but I have read that this is a problem with similar year/make/model. We drive on desert roads every weekend where there is limited visibility and no street lights for very long distances. Our high beams are a critical safety element.
High beams stopped working. When I called with issue the dealership stated that it was a safety issue. Took car to dealership and they stated that the actuator lighting system more than likely has a short. They recommended that it would be $1700 for them to replace the system and then retest to see if that was the issue. Upon further research it was found that other owners with the 2020 model were experiencing the same issue after 60,000 miles.
SYSTEM FAILURE: High beam headlights don't illuminate. When switch is activated, the blue dash indicator light illuminates, but the high beams don't come on. Initially a flicker was noted in the low beams when the switch was activated. Problem was first noted some time in Oct 2022. RISK: During mountain driving I am unable to utilize the high beams to help illuminate unlit roadways at night. DEALER: Car was taken to the dealer and inspected 1/31/23. Initially I was told that both headlamp bulbs were defective. I authorized replacement at my expense. Replacement was made, but the problem was not corrected. I was not charged for the bulbs. Kia technical reps apparently approved the warranty replacement of both headlamp assemblies, but one was not in stock. Neither have been replaced yet.
Loss of high beam function in both headlights at same time - fuses/relay switches are not burned out. Low beams will turn on, but the curtains for the high beams will not activate in both headlights. Lights on the dash show that high beams are on, but the curtains in the assembly will not activate. Had the issued looked at at a sister dealership (Hyundai) as the Kia dealerships couldn't schedule an appointment for several months. They could not diagnose an issue specifically, only recommended that both high beam assemblies had failed, and would need replacement (at an almost $2500 cost, happening just outside of warranty at 70k miles). I live and work in a very rural area with a lot of wildlife, and have nearly hit several animals (deer, elk) because there is not enough light to see them without the high beams.
Headlight Hi-beams stopped working and is very dangerous at night with a lot of wild animals where I live.
High beam lights suddenly stopped working on both front headlights.
The vehicle lost both high beams randomly together. Shows indicater on dash but you can see lights do not get brighter. This is a huge safety concern for my wife and children not being able to see well!!!! We went to dealer and they quoted us $1800 for both new headlights and said warranty will not cover this! I’ve read it’s an issue across the board with these cats and it’s time Kia does something to fix it!
The high beams headlights no longer function correctly. Low beams work fine but when toggle the shaft from low to high- there is no change in visibility. I do feel like this is a danger to myself and my growing family because in some rural areas, visibility is very limited at night. Warning lamps did not appear before high beam failure. It began about 3 months ago and still running into issues. I have talked to my local dealership and with my warranty close to running out, I’m afraid I will have to replace both assemblies out of pocket.
Both high beams suddenly stop working. Kia systems report high beams are functional. Also low beams have reduced brightness resulting dangerous driving conditions at night. Kia claims both headlight assemblies need to be replaced at an estimated repair of $2370
My high beam lights have stopped working. The system says it is working fine as the notifications for high beams come on but the lighting does not change.
High beams fail to light No warning lights, H beam indicator light functions but no activation. No codes on OBD2 reader. Have not taken to dealer for this problem because no recall. Very likely to replace on my own if no recall as I am a mechanic.
High Beam issues. It started out with one high beam out, and I figured the bulb needed replaced. When I looked into it, I learned the low beam and high beam share a single filament bulb. Later on, the high beam seemed to work again. And now it is not working again. Apparently it has to do with the mechanical "curtain" inside the housing that everyone is having issues with.
Left headlight is stuck in high-beam mode.
My high beams quit working for no reason. Dealer said I must replace the complete housing assembly at $680 a piece. I have 80 thousand miles in the car with zero accidents. $1360 for headlights?? This is not acceptable.
As the owner of this 2020 KIA Telluride, I have noted that the headlamps on both din and bright are very poor and are a safety concern when driving on a dark road, particularly when wet or no other lights around. I did some online research and found that many Kia owners had the same concern so I reached out to KIA Care or Kia America (Case # 15236897). Twice I was directed to my local dealer who basically did an inspection and stated" the lights work as designed" With that, I said that this was a poor or bad design and that Kia America should have safety people look and get a resolve. The internet has many complaints regarding the OEM lights for this vehicle but i would like someone to physically do a road test and do a comparision. The headlamps on this vehicle are a major safety concern and need evaluation.
High beams went off. Not showing any errors on dash. Switch seem to be working. High beam sign goes on and off when you try to switch between the low and high beams, But only low beam lights working.
Bright lights stopped working! Replaced bulbs and no change. I have read many stories of people having the same problem and the dealer charging them $1300 to &2000 to repair them and some did not fix the problem.
The high beams have stopped working. I have brought the car to the dealer and they report the related lighting systems are fine and working as they should. I have replaced the bulbs and the high beams still don't work. There are multiple reports of this same issue in other Kia Tellurides ( 2020) on the web. I am left with out a solution and need my high beams.
I recently bought the Kia used at approximately 75000 miles. The high beams do not work and the only way to repair them is an expensive complete headlight assembly replacement. Headlights should not become defective so soon and I have read forum after forum of those with the Telluride who have experienced the same problem.
Hooded projector lights provide very limited vision on dark roads. We hit a deer and have significant damage to our vehicle due to this issue. Our brights do not come on either. Nothing happens when we select the bright option.
The High Beams have stopped working. This is a known issue as it can be found on many forums across the internet.
High beams not working
The contact owns a 2020 Kia Telluride. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 20V436000 (Electrical System, Forward Collision Avoidance, Exterior Lighting) and 22V626000 (Trailer Hitches) however, the parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repairs. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the brake pedal was firm while attempting to stop the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
Mileage: 45,000
Dim Headlights. Vehicle is available for inspection.Headlights do not illuminate the road resulting in not being able to see while driving at night. High beam lights no longer function. Vehicle was inspected and it was determined headlights would need to be replaced at owners expense. There were no warning messages that high beams no longer worked.
At about 45,000 miles on the vehicle both bright lights no longer worked suddenly at the same time. I figured they had burn out so I purchased brand new bulbs for both sides at advanced auto parts. advanced auto parts installed the lightbulbs, and when I flipped the switch for brights again no bright lights. Apparently there’s an issue on the 2020 tellurides for some reason, the bright lights quit working. This is a serious safety issue, especially with it getting darker earlier and with deer running at this time of the year.
The high beams stopped working which is very dangerous & sounds like several others have had same issue.
High beams stopped working
Vehicle was in for an oil change and safety system upgrade/fix(?) and now the high beams no longer work on our vehicle. The blue indicator light shows up but neither on of our high beams turn on. I have contacted the dealership and they claim they've never heard of such a thing happening, but I have seen many complaints online about it. We do not feel it is safe to drive out in the country, at night.
Headlights high beams have not been working for over a year. When the high beams trigger is pulled/turned to on you can see a slight lift in the low beam attempting to transition to high beams but it fails. No high beams are activated.
High Beam lights do not work when activated making night driving very dangerous. I have read repeatedly online that this is a known problem. Essentially, the high beams are activated by the bulb housing moving around the bulb to enhance illumination. However, this housing STOPS working on many Kia Tellurides and the only solution is to replace them according to online reports. However, this is not a guaranteed fix as the problem has not been addressed by the manufacturer and is subject to reoccurence.
While driving on the highway my headlights didn’t illuminate the roadway. I pulled over to check them and it appears the headlights were so dim, and possibly stuck somehow. They’re telescopic lights. The issue continued the entire 11 hour drive. The lights would work then go off again. I thought they might be stuck in the wrong position. I couldn’t see the highway well and we had inclement weather. I haven’t had the dealer look at the vehicle yet because they don’t have any rentals available. I can’t afford to miss work. No warning lights or chimes were displayed by the vehicle on the dashboard.
Bright headlights do not work. Known problem. Not covered by warrant after 60,000 mile. I unsafe condition of vehicle. KIA should address recall.
The high beams on the headlights no longer work. This is a safety hazard where I live due to the number of deer around in the evenings. This problem was confirmed by Kia in many 2020 Telluride vehicles. This has not been inspected by anyone yet. It has been reported to Kia Customer Service and awaiting confirmation of warranty replacement. There was no warning when it stopped working. The high beam indicator on the dashboard still works, but the bulbs only perform at low beam. The relay was replaced but it did not correct the problem.
High Beam Headlight system both headlamps are malfunctioned and yes it is available for inspection. Due to high beam headlight system not working when I am driving down hill I am not able to see at a distance in front of my vehicle nor can I see animals jumping out of the road in front of me. My safety is at risk as well as others I meet on the road. Dealer is aware unable to get me in immediately. No warning as a matter of fact the vehicle indicates that high beam lights are working. Upon looking up consumer reviews there have been many complaints regarding this concern which has required KIA to replace both headlight assembly systems at the cost of $ 2500.00 my KIA just barely went out of warranty. My issue is these complaints were filed several times since 2020 and these issues have not been placed into warranty as a recall.
Poor illumination of headlights and headlights high beam does not work. The bulbs were changed, and the high beam light fuse and the high beam relay were changed and the lights still will not go on high beam. I heavily rely on bright lights when possible to easily identify animals in or near roadway when traveling during hours of darkness. Night time visibility is very poor and unsafe,
High beam lights stopped working. Bulbs are ok. Lamp assembly has a part that physically moves to change high to low.
Both high beams stop working without any advice. While driving at night low beams provide low visibility and when I try to use high beam did not change at all from low beam. This truck comes with a system that moves low beam light to high beam light only one bulb ( one filament ) no two filaments. There is 37 complaints online and no recall. Visibility is a hazard in united states.
The high beams stopped working.
High beams do not switch on from low beams. Safety is put at risk due to not being able to have visual on roads with no street lights in rural areas. The problem has been reproduced even with new bulbs. No warring messages have appeared.
Low beam headlights cause oncoming traffic to swerve and to flash bright lights, as if they are being blinded by low beams in this car. Car has no load or extra weight, and yet this happens dozens of times per week with oncoming cars flashing their lights as I am approaching. Dealership refused to look at this concern, saying that if I did not purchase a new $15,000 engine, then my factory warranty would not be honored. The car is running fine. Other mechanic shops not affiliated with Kia say the headlights are perfectly adjusted to factory specs and there has been no shift or movement. One offered to bend metal to lower the beam, but he said this was not factory specs and so I declined. While refusing to address this issue, the Kia dealer that sold me this car also refused to repair the recalled trailer brake light harness, which is violation of federal law. The Kia owner's online portal is also non-responsive. I tried to address this there, where they assigned Case # 14685919. I am concerned about endangering other drivers with this, but Kia will not address this customer's concerns. Perhaps attorneys who query NHTSA database will force a solution before someone is harmed by this.
The high beams are no longer operable.
Both headlight high beams went out at the same time. I no longer have working high beams and from the internet research this is a known problem with no recall issued.
The low beams to high beam headlight stared working intermittently in Aug 2021. Maybe one side worked or the other or neither. I took it to KIA and they said a bulb was about burned out. Replaced both bulbs but was still having the same issue. Took it back in Sept 2021, they said they did a diagnostic test and everything showed it was ok. Left, same problem. Called again had appointment in October 2021, finally said there was a problem with the "curtain" or cover that moved to change the lights from High to Low beam. They ordered only the left side. Replaced that in December 2021. Left dealership and the left one works great, the right one only intermittently. Called again and asked that they replace the right one, tech had to ask someone if they were ok to do that. Got that approved and the part just came in. Setting up appointment soon. This has taken 4-5 months to get resolved, and I'm still not done. Too long if you ask me.
The high beam headlights fail to activate, yet the blue dash indicator shows lights are on high beam. Furthermore, when on low beam the headlights do not broadcast a sufficient distance ahead or to the side to enable driver to see the road sufficiently for safe driving. This issue has been reported by almost 100 other drivers, many of whom have North Carolina addresses, but the reports also list other states such as Nevada. This is a major safety issue that is evolving currently and hopefully, you will make it a priority to contact the manufacturer for a recall. This was first noticed on 12/23/2021, but became prominent when spouse driving me home from hospital ER for unrelated injury on 12/28/2021.
The high-beam lighting system fails - causing dangerous conditions while driving. They use a motor system that tilts the light and this is prone to failure.
Component Failure: Unsafe headlights, refusal of KIA corporate to address problem since vehicle was new. Component Failure: Unsafe headlights, cause Advance Driver Assistance Systems to malfunction. Failures include: Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assistance, and Pedestrian Avoidance. Safety risks: 1) Multiple near collisions with Pedestrians and bicyclists. 2). Emergency braking engaged at night by irrigation stream, leaves and other Non Hazards 3). Near collisions with Pedestrians at night 4). Erratic maneuvers by Lane Keep Assist at night. 5). Lane Keep Assist shuts down at intermittently at night. 6). Departure from road surface at night during turns 7). Headlights do not illuminate Stop signs, Speed Limit signs, or caution signs at night. 8). Near collisions with Pedestrians and Bicyclists at night during turns 9). Collisions with road debris at night during turns and straightaways. 10). Multiple curbed medians hit during turns. Dealers and KIA corporate state systems are working as designed. Dealers and KIA corporate refuse to address the problems with this car The only warning light you get is the Lane Keep Assist / Warning light starts blinking sometimes.
High beams stopped working. Lights are terrible at night. No warning, just stopped working all of a sudden.
The contact owns a 2020 Kia Telluride. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH at night on a back road, the hi-beam headlights were activated but failed to illuminate brighter than the low-beam headlights. The contact continued driving to his residence. After arriving home, the contact inspected the vehicle and noticed that the hi-beam headlights were not working as designed. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the hi-beam bulbs were faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 44,100.
Mileage: 44,100
The headlights in general are very dim and don't shine out to create an illuminated peripheral view. Also, both high beams have completely stopped working.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? While traveling at night I attempted to turn on the high beams to better illuminated the highway but the high beams failed to turn on. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This resulted in limited visibility of the road and any potential hazards. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Unknown Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Unknown Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no fault indicators displayed that might suggest a failure of the high beams. The blue high beam indicator light continues to function as it should, despite the fact there is no change in the illumination from the headlights.
HIGH BEAMS WILL NOT FUNCTION. REPLACED LIGHT BULBS. DID NOT FIX THE PROBLM. REPLACED RELAY AND FUSE. DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. TOOK TO DEALER. SERVICE TECH APPEARED TO BE BEFUDDLED. HIS ONLY SUGGESTION WAS TO REPLACE BOTH HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES AT A COST OF OVER $2000.00 OR JUST WAIT UNTIL KIA ANNOUNCED A RECALL AS HE COULD NOT DETERMINE EXACT CAUSE OF PROBLEM.

THE LIGHTS WONT DIM, THE SAME THING HAPPENED ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO DROVE THE VEHICLE THE NEXT NIGHT AND THEY WORKED OK ,DROVE IT LAST NIGHT THEY WOULD NOT DIM OR BRIGHT COULD NOT TELL WHAT THEY WAS STUCK ON, THE INSIDE INDERCATOR WORK FINE. I THINK THIS MIGHT B A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.THANKS

I LOVE THIS CAR. I REPLACED MY 2016 LEXUS GL 460 WITH THE 2020 TELLURIDE EX V6, A LOW MILAGE PREVIOUSLY OWNED CAR I FOUND AT A DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I FELT IT COMPARED FAVORABLY IN EVERY WAY WITH THE LEXUS, WHICH I HAD BOUGHT NEW. UNFORTUNATELY, LIKE OTHERS WHO HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME LIGHTING ISSUE, I DID NOT DO A NIGHT TIME TEST DRIVE OF THIS CAR, BUT WHEN I DID FINALLY DRIVE IT AT NIGHT - WOW! THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE ARE THE ABSOLUTE WORST I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED AS A DRIVER. MY FIRST EXPERIENCE DRIVING THIS KIA AFTER DARK ON A CITY STREET PROVED TO BE DANGEROUS AND SCARY. LIGHTING WAS SO POOR- ESPECIALLY THE PERIPHERAL LIGHTING AND LOW BEAM HEIGHT RANGE - THAT I COULD NOT FIND MY DESTINATION BECAUSE THE HOUSE NUMBERS ON THE MAILBOXES AS WELL AS THE STREET SIGN WERE NOT LIT WELL ENOUGH TO READ. BUT WHAT WAS WORSE IS THAT I VERY NEARLY HIT A PEDESTRIAN WHO WAS WALKING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. BY THE WAY, MY VISION IS 20/20 AND NIGHT DRIVING HAS NOT PREIOUSLY BEEN A PROBLEM. I KNEW THERE HAD TO BE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE LIGHTING SYSTEM SO THE NEXT DAY I TOOK THE CAR STRAIGHT TO THE DEALER WHO CHECKED THE BULBS AND THEIR PLACEMENT; HE FOUND NO PROBLEM. I AM A WIDOW SO I DRIVE MYSELF EVERYWHERE I GO, INCLUDING AT NIGHT. BRIGHT, SAFE ILLUMINATION IS A MUST! I AM NOT DRIVING MUCH AT NIGHT THESE DAYS BECAUSE I FEEL IT IS WAY TOO RISKY CONSIDERING THE POOR VISIBILITY AFTER DARK. I CAN TELL YOU THAT KIA WILL HAVE A LAW SUIT (OR MULTIPLE SUITS) ON THEIR HANDS WHEN THIS POOR HEADLIGHT SITUATION IS THE CAUSE OF A SERIOUS ACCIDENT!
Mileage: 1,700
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THE ES MODEL ARE SO BAD. THERE IS MINIMAL PERIPHERAL ILLUMINATION OUTSIDE OF THE LIGHTS . THE LIGHTS ARE SO POOR THAT THE DRIVER CANNOT SEE THE SIDE OF THE ROAD ON UNLIGHTED ROADS OR GOING AROUND A CURVE. VERY DANGEROUS. THE FIRST SET OF LIGHTS STOPED FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. WAS REPLACED BY DEALER WITH NEW FACTORY LIGHTS THAT DO NOT ILLUMINATE ADEQUATELY AND ARE A SAFETY HAZARD FOR BOTH DRIVERS AND PEDESTRIANS.

THE HALOGEN PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2020 TELLURIDE SX ARE UNSAFE AT NIGHT. THEY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH LIGHT OUTPUT TO PROPERLY ILLUMINATE THE ROAD AND IT'S VERY UNCOMFORTABLE FOR ME AND MY FAMILY TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THE LIGHT SPREAD IS VERY LIMITED AND DOESN'T SEEM TO GO FAR ENOUGH. SEVERAL CUSTOMERS ON KIA FORUMS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. SOME ARE HAVING THEIR HEADLIGHTS ADJUSTED WITH NO SUCCESS AND OTHERS ARE CHANGING THEIR OEM LAMPS FOR AFTERMARKET ONES TO IMPROVE PERFORMANCE EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A CRITICAL SAFETY FEATURE. HYUNDAI OFFERS A NICER LED HEADLAMP ON HIGHER UP TRIM LEVELS BUT I DIDN'T NOTICED I HAD THE POOR PERFORMANCE ONES UNTIL I HAD PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. REMEMBER THAT COSTUMERS DON'T USUALLY DO TEST DRIVES AT NIGHT. I SHOULDN'T NEED TO GO TO AFTERMARKET TO INSTALL QUESTIONABLE NON-OEM BULBS TO OVERCOME THIS PERFORMANCE SHORTFALL AND POTENTIALLY CREATE AN ELECTRICAL OR FIRE HAZARD HOPEFULLY HYUNDAI QUICKLY REALIZES THAT THESE LAMPS ARE NOT WHAT'S EXPECTED ON A SUCH A NICE VEHICLE AS THE TELLURIDE AND INSTALL A NICER, BRIGHTER, SAFER ONE AS STANDARD. THANK YOU
CONCERN REGARDING THE FACTORY INSTALLED TRAILER TOW PACKAGE, SPECIFICALLY THE LIGHTS CONTROLLED BY THE 4-PIN FACTORY SUPPLIED CONNECTION. THE TRAILER LIGHTS DO NOT ALWAYS WORK IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE MAIN BRAKE LIGHTS ON THE TELLURIDE - SPECIFICALLY WHEN USING 'AUTO HOLD'. THE DISCUSSION IS NOT IF 'AUTO HOLD' SHOULD NOT BE USED WITH A TRAILER. IT'S POSSIBLE TO USE 'AUTO HOLD' WHEN TOWING, SO IT WILL BE. THE CONCERN IS IF THE TRAILER, OR LOAD, BLOCKS THE VIEW OF THE MAIN BRAKE LIGHTS OF THE VEHICLE - THE TRAILER WILL DISPLAY NO BRAKE LIGHTS IF THE DRIVER REMOVES THEIR FOOT FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL WHILE STOPPED AND HELD WITH 'AUTO HOLD'. THIS CREATES A POTENTIALLY, SERIOUSLY UNSAFE CONDITION. WHILE IN 'AUTO HOLD', THE MAIN BRAKE LIGHTS ON THE VEHICLE DISPLAY THE SAME WHETHER OR NOT THE DRIVER'S FOOT IS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL; HOWEVER, ANY LIGHTS CONNECTED TO THE 4-PIN FACTORY CONNECTOR FOR TRAILER LIGHTS ONLY FUNCTION WHEN THE DRIVER HAS THEIR FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. ANY LIGHTS CONNECTED TO THE 4-PIN FACTORY CONNECTOR SHOULD ALWAYS FUNCTION THE SAME AS THE MAIN BRAKES LIGHTS ON THE VEHICLE. FIRST NOTICED WHEN AN AUXILIARY HITCH LIGHT WAS CONNECTED TO THE 4-PIN FACTORY CONNECTION, AND VERIFIED LATER DURING THE FIRST TOW WITH A TRAILER CONNECTED TO THE 4-PIN CONNECTOR.*DT CONSUMER STATED AH, SCC, HDA, AND FCA ALL SYSTEMS INCLUDED IN APPLY THE BRAKES UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES.*JB

THE HEADLIGHTS IN THE KIA TELLURIDE ARE SIGNIFICANTLY DEFICIENT IN ILLUMINATING THE FRONT CORNERS OF THE VEHICLE DURING TURNS IN LOW OR NON-LIT AREAS. DRIVING IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND ON THE ROADS THAT GET ME THERE FEELS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. VISIBILITY WHEN TURNING CORNERS IS DANGEROUSLY LOW. THIS SCARES ME NOT ONLY AS A TELLURIDE OWNER BUT AS A PEDESTRIAN AND A PARENT WITH TWO SMALL CHILDREN. AS THE TELLURIDE'S POPULARITY CONTINUES TO GROW SO DOES THE SAFETY HAZARD THESE POORLY DESIGNED HEADLIGHTS POSE. CORRECTIVE ACTION TO ADEQUATELY AND SAFELY ILLUMINATE THE ROAD WHILE MAKING TURNS IS ESSENTIAL AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. PLEASE DO THE RESPONSIBLE THING AND PROTECT FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES BY RECALLING THE TELLURIDE AND MAKE A SIMPLE DESIGN CHANGE THAT WOULD NOT ONLY IMPROVE OWNER SATISFACTION, BUT ALSO PROTECT A POTENTIALLY UNSEEN PEDESTRIAN, JOGGER, BICYCLIST OR PET. A VEHICLE'S SAFETY SHOULD BE PARAMOUNT BOTH DAY AND NIGHT. IF NOTHING ELSE, PLEASE PROVIDE THE OPTION FOR TELLURIDE OWNERS TO WIDEN THE HEADLIGHT BEAM AT OUR OWN EXPENSE SO WE CAN CHOOSE TO PROTECT OURSELVES AND OUR NEIGHBORS BY PAYING FOR IT OUT-OF-POCKET. *TR

NIGHT DRIVING IS HORRIBLE ON THE EX TRIM WHERE VISIBILITY ON EITHER SIDE IS DANGEROUS. I ALMOST HIT A PEDESTRIAN BECAUSE THE VISIBILITY IS SO POOR. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. PLEASE DON'T WAIT FOR SOMEONE TO BE FATALLY INJURED. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!

LIGHTING FAILS TO ILLUMINATE TO THE SIDES OF THE VEHICLE ON THE EX TRIM SO THAT THERE ARE SPOTS OF NO LIGHTING. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT AND PARTICULARLY WHEN TURNING CORNERS. THIS SHOULD BE REMEDIED AND A RECALL ISSUED TO CORRECT THE CONCERN AS IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD.

BLIND SPOT COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM IS MALFUNCTIONS WHENEVER IT RAINS. VEHICLE HAS 3000 MILES ON IT AND FOR THE 5TH TIME IN 2 MONTHS THE BLIND SPOT SYSTEM ALARM SYSTEM GOES OFF WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN. DEALERSHIPS REFUSING TO LOOK AT THE PROBLEM UNLESS THE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, WHICH IT TURNS OFF ONCE THE SENSORS DRY OFF LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE TOO BRIGHT... POLICE HAVE STOPPED ME TWICE THINKING THEY ARE HIGH BEAMS.. THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE BLIND SPOTS ON THE SIDES. WHEN GOING AROUND CURVES YOU LOOSE THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. NO VISIBILITY AT ALL AT NIGHT. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE TALKED TO COMPANYS THAT INSTALLS HEADLIGHTS AND OTHER MECHANICAL PARTS TO VEHICLES AND WAS TOLD THAT ADDING FOG LIGHTS WILL NOT HELP BECAUSE THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ONLY PROJECTING FORWARD LIGHTS. WAS TOLD THAT ADDING FOG LIGHTS WOULD ONLY PROJECT FORWARD ALSO BECAUSE OF THE WAY THEY WOULD HAVE TO SET. THIS NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED!!!

HALOGEN BULBS IN HEADLIGHTS ON S TRIM ARE SUBOPTIMAL FOR ROADWAY ILLUMINATION DURING NIGHTTIME DRIVING REGARDLESS OF TERRAIN, ENVIRONMENT, OR DIRECRION. UPGRADE TO LED BULBS SHOULD RESULT IN IMPROVED VISIBILITY.

THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS CAR ARE DANGEROUS AT NIGHT AND ARE ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS WHEN IT'S RAINING. THE LIGHTS DO NO ILLUMINATE SPEED LIMIT SIGNS, STOP SIGNS, CAUTION SIGNS, YIELD SIGNS ETC... THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY EX MODEL ARE SERIOUSLY DEFICIENT AND DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY DURING DRIVING IN LOW LIGHT AREA DURING TURNS. AT MY OWN EXPENSE I'VE PURCHASED LED BULBS, WHICH HAVE IMPROVED VISIBILITY AHEAD OF ME. HOWEVER, THE LIGHT IS BLOCKED BY THE PROJECTOR TYPE HOUSING FROM ILLUMINATING THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDES OF THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. VISIBILITY DURING TURNS IS NON-EXISTENT. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ASAP.

EXTERIOR LIGHTING (HEADLIGHTS) IS TERRIBLE ON MY EX MODEL. STANDARD OE HEADLIGHTS ARE FAR TOO INADEQUATE FOR SAFE DRIVING AT NIGHT. SIDE CUTOFF OF THE HEADLIGHTS MAKES READING STREET SIGNS DIFFICULT WHEN THERE IS NO SUPPLEMENTAL LIGHT OUTSIDE OF THE CAR HEADLIGHTS. THESE HEADLIGHTS SHOULD BE LED (IT?S 2020 FOR [XXX] SAKE) AND NOT SO CONCENTRATED LIKE A SPOT LIGHT. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT IN THE EX TRIM, THE HALOGEN LIGHTBULBS ARE INEFFECTIVE FOR LIGHTING THE ROADWAY AHEAD. OUTSIDE OF CITY DRIVING WHERE OUTSIDE LIGHTING IS MINIMAL, IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE A SAFE DISTANCE AHEAD OF THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, BECAUSE OF THE CUTOFF DESIGN OF THE PROJECTOR HOUSING, STREET SIGNS SUCH AS STOP SIGNS AND SPEED LIMIT SIGNS ARE BARELY ILLUMINATED AT ALL.

HEADLIGHTS ON LX TRIM ARE EXTREMELY DIM. INSUFFICIENT FOR NIGHT DRIVING, CURVY/HILLY ROADS, RAINY CONDITIONS. LANE MARKERS ARE NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE.
Mileage: 3,500
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS CAR ARE DANGEROUS AT NIGHT ON STREETS WITH NO LIGHTING AND ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS WHEN ITS RAINING. THE LIGHTS DO NO ILLUMINATE SPEED LIMIT SIGNS, STOP SIGNS, CAUTION SIGNS, YIELD SIGNS ETC. THEY DO NOT ILLUMINATE OVERHEAD INTERSTATE SIGNS. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THE LIGHTS ARE WORKING AS DESIGNED. THE INSURANCE INSTITUTE FOR HIGHWAY SAFETY ALSO GIVES A POOR RATING TO THESE LIGHTS. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED.

THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE. THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY EX MODEL ARE SERIOUSLY DEFICIENT AND DANGEROUS, ESPECIALLY DURING DRIVING IN LOW LIGHT AREA DURING TURNS. AT MY OWN EXPENSE I'VE PURCHASED LED BULBS, WHICH HAVE IMPROVED VISIBILITY AHEAD OF ME, INCLUDING BEING, NOW, ABLE TO SEE THE SIDES OF THE ROAD, HOWEVER, VISIBILITY DURING TURNS IS NON-EXISTENT. AFTER 30 + YEARS OF DRIVING I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING AT NIGHT.

I HAVE A 2020 TELLURIDE AND THE HEADLIGHTS PROVIDE SO LITTLE LIGHT THAT IT'S DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. THE NORMAL BEAMS ARE SO DIFFUSE THEY PROVIDE INSUFFICIENT LIGHT FORWARD TO SEE THE ROAD CLEARLY AND PROVIDE NO LIGHT TO THE SIDES, SO YOU CAN'T SEE WHAT YOU ARE TURNING INTO WHEN YOU TURN. I CALLED KIA AND TWO LOCAL KIA DEALERS; THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT SAY THEY HAVE NO WAY TO FIX IT. GOOD HEADLIGHTS ARE FUNDAMENTAL AND, REALLY, AFTER 100 YEARS OF CARS WITH HEADLIGHTS, YOU'D THINK THEY COULD GET THIS RIGHT. PLEASE FORCE KIA TO RECALL THE CARS AND FIX THE HEADLIGHTS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THANK YOU. SANDRA THANK YOU. SANDRA

THIS IS A NEW VEHICLE, PURCHASED 8/2019. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT THE HEADLIGHTS (BOTH HIGH AND LOW BEAM), AS EQUIPPED, ARE DANGEROUSLY DEFICIENT AND DO NOT PROVIDE NEARLY ADEQUATE ILLUMINATION. I AM HESITANT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT. I CONSIDER THIS HAZARDOUS AND WORTHY OF CORRECTION BY THE MANUFACTURER. KIA TELLURIDE EX AWD.
Mileage: 200
HALOGEN HEADLAMPS ON THE EX MODEL DO A POOR JOB OF ILLUMINATING THE ROAD AHEAD WHEN IN LOW BEAM MODE. I CAN HARDLY SEE A FEW FEET. I ALSO DRIVE A LEXUS WHOSE HEADLAMPS DO A FANTASTIC JOB OF ILLUMINATION IN LOW BEAM. I AM HAVING TO PERIODICALLY ALTERNATE BETWEEN HIGH BEAM AND LOW BEAM MODES (TO AVOID BLINDING OPPOSITE TRAFFIC) WHEN DRIVING THE TELLURIDE ON UNLIT ROADS OR POORLY LIT ROADS. WHY DIDN'T KIA PROVIDE LED HEADLIGHTS FOR ALL TRIM LEVELS? THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.
Mileage: 2,200
THE TELLURIDE EX HAS AN ISSUE WITH IT'S HEADLIGHTS, ESPECIALLY IN A DIMLY LIT AREA. WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS ARE IN NORMAL MODE (NOT HIGH BEAM) ON A STREET THAT DOES NOT HAVE STREETLIGHTS (NO AMBIENT LIGHTS) OR YOU ARE GOING AROUND A TURN, OR YOU ARE GOING SLIGHTLY UPHILL, THERE IS VERY LITTLE VISIBILITY ON THE ROAD. YOU CAN SEE A DISTINCT CUT OFF OF THE HEAD LIGHT AND YOU CANNOT SEE BEYOND IT. THIS MAKES IT VERY VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE IN A LOW LIGHT ENVIRONMENT. IF I AM ON A HIGHWAY OR A WELL LIT ROAD, THERE IS NO ISSUE. MY OTHER CAR 2010 AUDI A4 DOES NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE AND THE HEADLIGHTS ILLUMINATE THE ROAD ADEQUATELY IN ANY CONDITION
Mileage: 6,500
THE HEADLIGHTS AT NIGHT ARE POOR. THEY DO NOT ILLUMINATE TRAFFIC SIGNS SUCH AS: SPEED LIMIT, STOP, STREET/HIGHWAY INFO, YIELD, WARNING, ETC. WHEN YOU APPROACH A THE UPSIDE OF A HILL, VISIBILITY IS LIMITED TO 30-50 FEET. SIDE VISION WHEN TURNING IS NON-EXISTENT. THIS OCCURS AT NIGHT WHEN IN MOTION AND STOPPED.
