THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER, BUT THEY ARE UNSURE AS TO WHAT CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 39,000.

WHEN PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN PARK, THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD ROLL ABOUT FIVE FEET BEFORE STOPPING. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR AN INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE OWNER THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *JB

JUNE 25, 2000 I WAS TRAVELING 60 MPH ON THE NJ TURNPIKE WHEN THE VEHICLE WENT OUT OF CONTROL , SHOOTING OFF TO THE RIGHT SIDEWAYS WITHOUT STEERING CONTROL. VEHICLE TURNED 180 DEGREES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND WAS STOPPED BY THE STEEL GUARD RAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS, AT THAT POINT, FACING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION OF THE TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS KEPT BY THE BODY SHOP AND THE DEALER (BOTH IN CHERRY HILL, NJ) FOR NEARLY 4 MONTHS. THE BODY SHOP COULD NOT GET THE VEHICLE TO DRIVE STRAIGHT. THE DEALER EVENTUALLY REPLACED THE STEERING BOX. AT THE NEXT SERVICING, MAIN LINE LAND ROVER REPLACED THE RECALLED PULLEY AND BELTS. I AHVE ALSO HAD CONTINUING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. IT ALWAYS SEEMS TO DRAG. I HAVE RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES FOR CONTINUED PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING AND THE TRANSMISSION. THEY CONTINUALLY CLAIM THE VEHICLE IS OK.*AK
