Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2017 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact stated that by viewing the paperwork signed at the dealer, upon receiving the vehicle, a mileage discrepancy was discovered after the purchase. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 110,000. It was later discovered that the vehicle’s title mileage was 93,083, and based on the Carfax report, 93,083 and the current mileage on the vehicle was 98,800.

The contact was informed that the sunroof drain tube and the electrical components needed to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The fire department mentioned that the origin of the fire was related to fuel and electrical malfunction starting at the fuel line. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 33,000.
