THE CONTACT CALLED HENNESSY LEXUS OF GWINNETT (3383 SATELLITE BLVD, DULUTH, GA 30096 (770) 680-1000) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THE WARRANTY POLICY EXPIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.*DT*TP

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 LEXUS ES350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS FRACTURED AND MELTED. THE FRACTURE BEGAN FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE TO THE IGNITION AREA. THE DASHBOARD WAS BROKEN INTO PIECES AND EXPOSED THE IGNITION, WHICH CAUSED THE KEY TO BE LOOSE. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH STERLING MCCALL LEXUS (10025 SOUTHWEST FREEWAY, HOUSTON, TX 77074, (713) 995-2600) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE'S WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE DASHBOARD REPLACEMENT PROGRAM HAD EXPIRED FOR THE 2008 LEXUS ES350. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000. *JS

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHATHAM PARKWAY LEXUS (LOCATED AT 1120 CHATHAM PKWY, SAVANNAH, GA 31405, (912) 213-0005) FOR A ROUTINE OIL SERVICE AND THE CONTACT INFORMED THEM OF THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO CLEAN THE SUBSTANCE, BUT THE STICKY RESIDUE REMAINED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO COVER IT WITH CARPET. THE CONTACT'S VISIBILITY WAS CONSTANTLY BEING AFFECTED BY THE GLARE. THE CONTACT ALSO RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V340000 (AIR BAGS). THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO INDICATE WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. THE DASHBOARD OF THE VEHICLE HAS BECOME VERY STICKY, MELTING, IN THE HEAT WITH SMALL PIECES OF THE DASHBOARD FALLING OFF. DRIVING IN THE DAYLIGHT COMPROMISES DRIVER SAFETY DUE TO THE GLARE IN THE WINDSHIELD FROM THE WET SHINY LOOK OF THE DASHBOARD IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER REFLECTING INTO THE DRIVERS FIELD OF VISION. THERE APPEARS TO BE A DEFECT IN THE MATERIAL USED BY THE MANUFACTURER IN THE PRODUCTION OF THIS DASHBOARD. NOT ONLY IS IT A DRIVING SAFETY ISSUE BUT IT ALSO DEVALUES THE VEHICLE FOR TRADE OR RESALE. *TR

THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW GLASS POPPED OUT WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THIS CAR TO SCHOOL TO DROP OFF OUR KIDS. IT DID STARTLE HER BECAUSE OF THE NOISE. SHE WAS ALERT ENOUGH AND ANY ACCIDENT WAS AVOIDED. I GOT THE CAR CHECKED OUT BY A LEXUS DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT IT WAS DUE TO A FAULTY PLASTIC TAB THAT BROKE AND THE ENTIRE GLASS ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED (EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE GLASS ITSELF) THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM IN LEXUS AS ACKNOWLEDGED BY A TSB (TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN) L-SB-0003-09 ISSUED BY THEM ON JANUARY 26, 2009. THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AT THAT TIME, BUT THEY FAILED TO INFORM ME ABOUT THIS POTENTIAL PROBLEM. *TR

MY PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WINDOW WILL NOT ROLL UP PROPERLY. APPARENTLY THE PLASTIC CLIP BROKE OFF AND THE ENTIRE WINDOW HAS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS DEFINITELY A DEFECT BY LEXUS. I HAVE SEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS. LEXUS IS CHARGING 700 DOLLARS TO FIX. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER LEXUS OR RECOMMEND ONE TO ANYONE BECAUSE LEXUS SHOULD TAKE OWNERSHIP FOR THIS ONE. *TR

FEEDBACK FROM LEXUS IS THAT THE PLASTIC TABS THAT HOLD THE WINDOW DISINTEGRATE OVER TIME AND AS A RESULT THE ENTIRE WINDOW WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. IT'S CLEARLY A SAFETY HAZARD AND SHOULD PRO-ACTIVELY BE ADDRESSED BY LEXUS. *TR

I BOUGHT ONE LEXUS (TOYOTA) ES 350 LAST NOVEMBER WITH ABOUT 3,500 MILES (CURRENTLY 8,200MILES). RECENTLY, I FOUND FRONT WHEEL ON THE RIGHT SIDE COULD NOT BE RECOVERED TO STRAIGHT POSITION (STEERING ALSO). I TOOK MY CAR TO LEXUS DEALER IN PEORIA, IL, BUT THEY TALKED ME THAT THE ISSUES HAPPEN BECAUSE YOUR CAR HIT HOLES OR CURBS. I WANT TO ASK WHO CAN TELL ME THAT THEIR CARS NEVER HIT HOLES OR CURBS, IF ISSUES HAPPEN AS LONG AS YOUR CAR HITS HOLES OR CURBS. I THINK ISSUES HAPPEN WHEN A STRONG OUTSIDE FORCE WAS ADDED TO THE OBJECTS SUCH TIRE OR RIM OR BODY, BUT THIS TIME NOT ANY DAMAGE IN TIRE, RIM OR BODY, HOW COME ONLY INSIDE DAMAGE HAPPEN FIRST. I HAVE VERY STRONG ENGINEERING BACKGROUND, I WOULD LIKE TO ASK LEXUS (TOYOTA) HOW BIG OUTSIDE FORCE WILL LED TO THIS DAMAGE, AND IF AND WHAT THE OUTSIDE DAMAGE HAPPEN WHEN SAME STRENGTH FORCE IS ADDED TIRE, RIM OR BODY. I THINK LEXUS (TOYOTA) SHRINK THEIR RESPONSIBILITY SUCH AS THEY HAVE DONE. MY WIFE DRIVES A NEW BMW ABOUT 4 YEARS, BUT NOTHING HAPPEN EVEN THOUGH HIT MANY HOLES OR CURBS. LEXUS IS LUXURY CAR, NOT A TOY. WE DEFINE A CAR AS A LUXURY CAR, NOT ONLY INTERIOR, BUT ALSO IN SAFETY, WHICH HAS ENOUGH STRENGTH TO BEAR OUTSIDE FORCE.
