The contact owns a 2010 Lexus HS250 Hybrid. The contact stated had they had recently purchased the vehicle and had minor repairs performed on the vehicle by an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that the vehicle could not be aligned due to the repair as stated in NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V596000 (Suspension). The contact stated that the tie rod could not be adjusted. The mechanic referred the contact to a dealer to get the vehicle repaired. The contact reached out to the manufacturer and was informed that the vehicle needed to be inspected by an authorized dealer. the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the wheel bearings on the rear driver’s wheel needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the part was no longer manufactured by the vehicle manufacturer however, there was an aftermarket part to fix the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 142,000.

I PURCHASED A 2010 HS 250H LEXUS IN AUG 8, 2016. I RECENTLY FOUND OUT THAT IT HAS BEEN RECALLED 7 TIMES WITH SERIOUS UNDER THE HOOD ISSUES AND WAS TOLD THE ONLY ONE OUTSTANDING THE ONE I STUMBLED UPON DUE TO RESEARCH. THIS CAR HAS RUINED MY LIFE.IT HAS NEEDED ALL SORT OF REPAIRS SINCE I PURCHASED IT. MOST OF THE TIME IT HAS HAD TO JUST SIT IN THE YARD DUE TO THE FACT THAT I WAS AND STILL IS, AFRAID TO DRIVE IT.. IT STARTED JUST A FEW DAYS AFTER MY DEALER WARRANTY HAD RUN OUT. IT CUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, LOSING THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE,ETC. ONE DAY DURING WORK TRAFFIC IT CUT OFF ON ME AND TRAFFIC STAYED BACKED UP FOR MILES BEFORE I COULD CALL AND PAY FOR A TOW TRUCK. IN FACT, NOWADAYS, THAT'S BEEN THE ONLY WAY I CAN GET IT TO AND FROM THE REPAIR SHOP. NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT I SOCKED MUCH OF MY SAVINGS INTO THIS CAR BECAUSE I HAD JUST RECENTLY RECEIVED MY TEACHING CERTIFICATION AND EXPECTED TO BE WORKING FULL TIME AND WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEMS. I'VE RECEIVED NUMEROUS OFFERS TO APPLY FOR NUMEROUS TEACHING POSITIONS BUT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO APPLY DUE TO THE LACK OF TRANSPORTATION. I HAVE A LOAN AND INSURANCE THAT HAD TO BE MAINTAINED. I ALSO HAVE A MORTGAGE THAT I EXPECTED TO BE ABLE TO PAY FOR DUE TO MY NEWLY ACQUIRED CERTIFICATION AND OBTAINING A DEPENDABLE FORM OF TRANSPORTATION BECAME A NECCESITY. AT THIS POINT I HAVE HAD TO MOVE IN WITH RELATIVES BECAUSE I CAN NO LONGER AFFORD THE HOUSE AND DUE TO CONTINUOUS CAR REPAIR COST, MAY EVEN BE LOSING THE NON OPERATING 2010 LEXUS HS250H, THAT I HAVE BASICALLY NEVER BEEN ABLE UTILIZE FOR A BETTER LIFE FOR MYSELF. THE LEXUS DEALER WHO NOW HAS THE CAR HAS GIVEN ME A LOANER. I THINK THAT DRIVING THE CAR FOR EIGHT YEARS WITH THIS LAST TWO RECALLS, HAS DESTROYED IT.LIES HAVE BEEN TOLD BECAUSE A RECALL DATED 8/11/2016, 3 DAYS AFTER MY PURCHASE CONTRACT, AND I NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTICE OF THIS RECALL NON WORK DONE.

THIS CAR HAS HAD 7 RECALLS. WHEN YOU REVIEW THE CARFAX OR NHTSA WEBSITE, IT ONLY SHOW OPEN RECALLS. THE REAR SUSPENSION PROBLEM WAS ORIGINALLY RECALLED 08/02/12 RECALL NUMBER 12V37-3000, DEALERS WERE INSTRUCTED TO INSPECT FOR LOOSE TIE-ROD NUTS AND REPLACE AS NEEDED. THEN 08/28/13 RECALL NOTICE 13V383-000 WAS ISSUED AND THE REAR TIE RODS WILL BE ENCASED IN EPOXY TO PREVENT FUTURE ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE. SINCE THIS DIDN'T WORK, IT WAS REPLACED WITH RECALL 16V596-000 ON 08/12/16. THIS RECALL SUPERSEDED 13V-383, THE AFFECTED VEHICLES THAT WERE PREVIOUSLY RECALLED BUT DID NOT HAVE BOTH SUSPENSION ARMS REPLACED. THOSE VEHICLES WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE THEM REPLACED AND ENCAPSULATE THE LOCKNUTS. HERE IS THE PROBLEM... WITHIN 7 MONTHS OF NORMAL DRIVING, NO POTHOLES, NO SPEED BUMPS, THE CAR IS SO FAR OUT OF ALIGNMENT IT RUINED 2 REAR TIRES. PLUS, THE CAR CAN'T BE ALIGNED WITHOUT REPLACING THE TIE RODS TO THE COST OF $735! LEXUS REFUSES TO PAY FOR THIS SINCE IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THIS IS A RECALL THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM.

THE 2010 HS250H REAR LOWER SUSPENSION ARM RECALL FLAW THE SAFETY RECALL WORK CAUSED NON-RECOVERABLE DAMAGES TO THE REAR TIRES OF MY 2010 HS250H. TORONTO LEXUS TOLD ME THAT THE DAMAGES TO THE TIRES WEREREAR DUE TO MISALIGNMENT BY WESTSIDE LEXUS. LEXUS USA ONLY REIMBURSED ME A SMALL PORTION OF THE TOTAL COST (REDO OF RECALL WORK + 4 NEW TIRES). NEITHER LEXUS USA NOR WESTSIDE LEXUS WOULD PAY FOR THE DAMAGES ON THE TIRES. THE STORY: I PURCHASE THE LEXUS 2010 H250H FROM WESTSIDE LEXUS HOUSTON IN 2010. ON APRIL 10, 2015, WESTSIDE LEXUS DID A RECALL WORK ON THE REAR SUSPENSION ARMS (REAR TIE RODS). AT THE SAME TIME, I HAD WESTDISE LEXUS INSTALLED 4 NEW DUNLOP 225/45ZR18 TIRES. FEB. 2017 I MOVED BACK TO CANADA. ON THE LONG WEEKEND OF AUG. 2017, I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY NEAR TORONTO. ONE OF REAR TIRE SUDDENLY BURST OUT. I SENT THE CAR TO A LEXUS SERVICE CENTER IN TORONTO FOR REPAIR. THE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THAT THE TIRE WAS NOT REPAIRABLE. THERE WAS UNEVEN WEAR-OUT ON THE INNER EDGES OF BOTH REAR TIRES. TORONTO LEXUS TOLD ME THAT THE UNEVEN WEAR OF TIRES WAS DUE TO MISALIGNMENT OF TIRES BY WESTSIDE LEXUS. AND IT WAS ALSO RELATED TO THE REAR SUSPENSION ARMS RECALL WORK. SINCE EPOXY WAS APPLIED TO THE REAR TIE RODS, THOSE RODS WERE NO LONGER ADJUSTABLE. TORONTO LEXUS HAD TO REDO THE RECALL WORK AND REPLACE ALL 4 TIRES. TORONTO LEXUS CHARGED ME TOTAL $1762.82. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO HAD GIVEN ME A REPORT OF THE MISALIGNMENT BY WESTSIDE LEXUS.

I CONTACTED THEM AGAIN IN JANUARY 2017 AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD CONTACT ME IN FEBRUARY. AFTER NO CONTACT, I CONTACTED LEXUS CORPORATE IN APRIL 2017 AND NEVER RECEIVED A REPLY. THE RECALL WORK HAS NOT BEEN PERFORMED. WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN DATE IS APPROXIMATE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.

I HAVE TRIED TO ARRANGE IT MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE PAST 6+ MONTHS AND THEY CLAIM THEY ARE OUT OF THE PART(S).

BRAKES: THE CAR IS PRESENTING ISSUES WHEN BRAKING, IN ORDER TO BRAKE IT HAS TO BE PRESSED TOO HARD, AND IT DOES NOT BRAKE IMMEDIATELY IS MORE LIKE GRADUALLY, WHICH MAKES SLOWER THE BRAKE PROCESS, AND VERY DANGEROUS. IT ALSO MAKES A VERY ANNOYING SQUEAKY SOUND. SUSPENSION: THE CAR HAS BEEN ALIGNED 3 TIMES IN LESS THAN A WEEK SINCE I BOUGHT IT 10 DAYS AGO. HOWEVER, IT STILL PULLS TO THE RIGHT WHEN DRIVING. IT'S VERY UNCOMFORTABLE TO BE DRIVING PULLING TO THE LEFT IN ORDER TO KEEP THE WHEELS STRAIGHT. TOYOTA SERVICE SAID THAT THE TIRES ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, AND EVERYTHING IN GENERAL AS WELL. THEY ATTRIBUTED THE ISSUE WITH A RECALL IN THE REAR ARMS. I INVESTIGATED BOTH ISSUES WITH THE BRAKES AND THE REAR ARMS AND IN FACT ARE DUE TO RECALLS. HOW CAN I HAVE LEXUS TAKE CARE OF THIS?

THEY DO NOT GIVE ME ANY INDICATION FOR WHEN THE PART WILL COME IN OR IF IT IS SAFE TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE MY CAR. I DRIVE A LOT AND AM CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY. I HAVE LEFT MESSAGES AND TRIED REPEATEDLY TO GET AN ANSWER AND THEY DO NOT TELL ME ANYTHING.

NHTSA RECALL NO. 16V-596, ISSUED APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH AGO. THERE IS A NATIONWIDE SHORTAGE OF THE PARTS NEEDED TO CORRECT THE RECALL, AND DEALERS CANNOT TELL ME WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. THIS WAS CONFIRMED BY TALKING WITH TWO DEALERS NEAR ME AND THE LEXUS CUSTOMER CARE CENTER. THE RECALL CANNOT BE COMPLETED IN A TIMELY MANNER - THE RECALL APPEARS TO REQUIRE IMMEDIATE ATTENTION AND REPLACEMENT OF BOTH REAR SUSPENSION ARMS. I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A COMPLAINT OF RECALL SERVICES PERFORMED BY LONGO LEXUS DEALER IN EL MONTE, CALIFORNIA. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE OF LONGO TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL SERVICES CANNOT BE DONE ON THE SAME DAY DUE TO ?PARTS LIMITED ?NEED MORE THAN TWO HOURS TO PERFORM ?NEED DAYS TO GET THE PARTS AFTER CAR IN ?ADVISE ME TO GET A LOANER CAR AND LEFT THE CAR ON SATURDAY AND PICK UP ON TUESDAY OR SO I CANNOT UNDERSTAND BECAUSE (1) MY ONLINE SERVICES ALREADY GAVE SUFFICIENT TIME; (2) IF PARTS ARE LIMITED; WHY CANNOT ORDER PRIOR THAN THAT, (3) IF LONGO CONFIRMED BY ONLINE RESERVATION; WHY THIS SERVICES CANNOT BE DONE SAMEDAY; (4)WHY I ENDED UP WASTED MY TIME DROVE FROM CHINO HILLS TO EL MONTE (5) IF THIS IS THE CASE, ONLINE SERVICE SHOULD INCLUDE AN ADVISE OF SERVICES TIMING AND WE NEED TO CHOOSE OTHER OPTION OR RESCHEDULE (6) MY APPOINTMENT @11:30 AM TO DEALER?S CLOSING TIME IS MUCH MORE THAN 2 HOURS AND SHALL BE MORE THAN SUFFICIENT TO PERFORM SUCH SERVICES (7) WHY NOT INFORM CUSTOMER UPON OUR SERVICE RESERVATION (8) I FELT THIS IS DEALER?S BUSINESS ORIENTATION, NO RECALL SERVICES ON A BUSY WEEKEND (9) BUSY WEEKEND TIME SHOULD BE USED FOR MORE PROFIT ORIENTED CUSTOMER MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR SERVICES INSTEAD OF LOW OR NO PROFITABLE RECALL OBLIGATION, SO THIS SERVICES CAN ONLY BE DONE AT WEEKDAYS (10) OWNER NEED TO COME BACK AT WEEKDAYS OR LEAVE CAR FOR DEALER TO PERFORM REGULARLY (11) LEXUS SHOULD GRADE DEALERS?
